This is the kind of stuff that makes me want a whole universe with these full body pictures. The Cverse is great but these would be amazing in their own world. Totally. The technology exists. These last few days have proved we've got some mighty renderers on hand. It would be a lot of work to fill a universe with those things, but there are folks on here who would step up to the challenge... were full body shots ever determined suitable for the TEW system. There are over 2000 workers in the C-Verse database and to re-render any particular worker is going to take about 2 hours minimum, so you are looking at around 166+ days worth of work just to have a full body picture. Even splitting the task between 5 or 6 means that it will be a month of solid rendering EACH Then throw in the alter egos. These will become almost impossible due to the sheer size. Right now its easier to do because its just a head and shoulders but with a body you are going to lose quality, not to mention your imagination of what they wear. This is before you even get into adding them into the game screens somewhere (as there is a lot of information displayed, which is one reason i believe Adam mentioned why it wouldn't happen) Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Self Posted May 11, 2010 Share Posted May 11, 2010 Sure, there are plenty of reasons why not, but look how pretty they are! The 'getting them to fit on screen' thing is the biggest thing against it. If they don't work for Adam's vision of the game, that's that. That's cool. No problem with that. I just don't think it's undoable from a rendering standpoint, given a long enough deadline. It'll be at least a year until the next TEW, right? I don't even care that much. I'm just digging on the work being done right now. Rock on, y'all. Rock on. It's all individual items nowadays. There are some freebies about, if you know where to look. Check out Renderosity's freebie section. Pretty sure there's a couple of good ones in there. Wrestling gear? Pretty much a hodgepodge of mix & matching. There's an expensive set (singlet, elbow pads, knee pads) on Daz. The M4 bodysuit is kinda good (although it's fallen out of favour with me). I've moved my files around so much I've forgotten where half of my bits came from. If you see anything you like on my pics, PM me and I'll try to remember where it came from. I've been using this as a bald Hell's Bouncer Alt... who has actually become Doomsday in my WCW Game, and is my most over heel.... *+ to A- across the US.... The coolest of beans. With a little tweaking (some glasses and I removed the symbol on his forehead) Brimstone has become Knuckles. Alan Barrister has become Aristocrat and, although I haven't actually used it as such, Tavare Loring should have been the original render for Nicky Champion. Then we wouldn't mess about 'building' him up - he'd be automatically champion. Of everything.
