*It was Hokkaido of summer, and all the women did run of North and freedom. All the women except for the 5SSW Hydra who did meet in the restaurant of their hotel... a conference room turned to booking as they entered their 2nd week on fragile grounds. The meeting too was on fragile grounds as The Lizard Queen presided and Yuu weaved her spell and spelling of words.*

*It was the first Ichihara hod spoken in their meetings. Only a dangerous level of fool would not listen to her short word and stop. Yuu took a quick note upon her yellow paper, and stuck it near the top. She could only hope Ichihara understood the gesture of symbolism. Her words were important to Yuu.*

Ginko Kuroda came in with a lot of confidence, something she had been noticeably lacking. Chitose came in on the wings of a butterfly, the All-Asian title and the support of the fans. While the match remained close, the math was never in Ginko's favor and soon the offense of Chitose began to rapid fire into the Victory Roll and the pin.

Umeko has always played the heel in her time with 5SSW. She takes short cuts and extra care to antagonize the fans around her at all times. Yet another the youngsters could learn from her. But a funny thing is beginning to happen as the internet savy fans all know of her failing health, they have begun to rally around her improbable run at a shot at the All-Asian title. Once again using her wide arsenal of tactics instead of moves, she almost seemed to be toying with the very young Gemmei. If Gemmei connected with anything, Umeko rolled out of the ring for a good 7 count, totally taking the eager girl out of her rhythm. Frustrated beyond reason, Gemmei finally gave chase and caught the Flying Knee Strike coming into the ring.

Saori worked the microphone and said she wouldn't let history keep repeating itself. Her team was going to defeat DEVIL's little army and put an end to this loop once and for. Shiori opened her mouth to speak, but Saori ended the interview before she could say anything.

Tomoko's game plan was clear, out wrestle the spirited HEART Saitoh and lock in the submission. But HEART had other ideas as she set the pace and kept the space between with very deliberate strikes and moves. Tomoko was put on the defensive which only seemed to inspire HEART. Tomoko hit the corner hard, but the following Flying Tiger Knee was cataclysmic and enough for the three.

Raku completely overwhelmed the life of The Lemons, Rei. In a return to her previous form, Raku was cold and precise in every move she made. A mixture of the surgical and suicidal as she dismantled Rei from head to toe before sealing the fate with a Swanton Bomb for three. After the match she added insult to injury by literally rubbing Rei's face in to the canvas.

 

• In a bout that had a good crowd and some decent in-ring action, Raku Makuda defeated Rei Chikanatsu in 11:45.

The Rainbow Girls had no problem picking up their teamship as the years together showed. But Shojo Beatdown began to show some cohesion as well. Their time together showing in communication as Fuyuko directed traffic and the pace of the match quite verbally. Their game plan was simple, keep one of the girls isolated and wear them down. That is exactly what they did as Kiko was cut off from her partner the entire match. Her last desperate attempt a finger tip too short as she ended up in the Higa Green Driver instead.

 

• In a bout that had a good crowd and some decent in-ring action, Shojo Beatdown defeated The Rainbow Girls in 11:36.

These teams have a lot of history together and they waste no time picking up right where they left off as the moves are extra stiff and urgent. The crowd is immediately brought inside for story time as opponents are traded and rivalries solidified until the very final moments of the match. Saori Nakadan stunned Dragon Assassin with the Nakadan Spike in the center of the ring. She pointed to the crowd and clapped her hands only to be annihilated from the blind side by her partner, Shiori Jippensha... Drop kick to Yuma! Shiori seems to be in league with the DEVIL and the DEVIL is all smiles as Shiori helps Dragon Assassin to her feet. Jippensha Leglock! Dragon Assassin taps out before anyone knows what exactly is happening. What exactly is happening!?

 

• In a bout that had a good crowd and good action, Saori Nakadan, Yuma Maruya and Shiori Jippensha defeated DEVIL Karube, Dragon Assassin and Megumi Nakajima in 14:55.
  

 

• Shiori Jippensha's turn was successful.
  

*Shiori rolled beneath the bottom ropes quickly and out of the ring, her arms raised in victory over her head. It was obvious she didn't need or want the referee to validate it. The sneer on her face made it clear this wasn't a team victory. The fans turned on her quickly, even though the "good" team had won. Shiori didn't care and showed it to everyone. Somewhere from her Booker Perch? Yuu Onuki was the only one smiling as the show ended.*

It looks like Yuu Onuki finally got her woman as Amber Allen has signed for 5SSW with a pay-per-appearance deal. Talks between the two camps had broken down almost 6 months ago over travel expenses. But with the signing of Principessa, Amber's long time mentor, many speculated it was only a matter of seconds before talks would resume again.

The brings the 5SSW -Active- roster to 27. With 4 signings in as many weeks, many are beginning to wonder what 5SSW has up her collective sleeve.

Wallbanger? How could you? The Curse of Shojo is surely upon you now. Many made good picks this week? You get inside the mind of Yuu? Or my booking improves? No? The curse of cold crowds has been upon me. I live and die by Main Events? This is not the way of Yuu. I try to give more meaning to matches now with the preview, yes? It helps me too. Shiori turn! Good for her, she is heel always to me. Maybe we will see more of her now... with your eyes of course.

*Yuu slept for almost 16 hours following the show. It was some strange and ritual of her internal workings... she simply did shut down and disappear from the world that was. She did disappear beneath feathered covers of blankets in the winter, in the summer she only imagined them there. Japan's oppressive summer heat heavy enough upon her paled skin. She did not dream of lines. She did not see their faces. She did not know what would happen next. She did not know until her eyes did open again and see. Sometimes she felt like the Lizard Queen's music box. Wound up for brief moments of glitter and twirl only to be snapped shut to tight when done. When shut? Her music did not play.*

*The Lizard Queen herself saw Yuu in much the same way. A unique and pretty thing that played music on command and turned around and around. A treasure? Of course, she would say. Irreplaceable? Not in the slightest her true face would answer. Yuu was not the protege of The Lizard Queen in any way or form for a simple reason. Yuu did not have the cold bones of business to get the job done. She was not ruthless enough to run 5SSW as it had to be run. The Lizard Queen knew she never would be that. If Kagawa-san were to die tomorrow? She would take it all with her or perhaps give it all to the magic three: Crusher, Sensational and Thunder. Yuu could just play her song.*

 

*16 hours and Yuu's eyes opened slowly like the lid of the box. Her gears did begin their turning ways before her limbs did move.*

 

"Yuu. Dance."

 

*The music began to play again.*

*The poster lay spread upon the hotel table. The road agents lay spread across the tatami floor. The Lizard Queen watched from her rightful place as Yuu paced with her eyes closed. Gestures of the hands moved with her lips as she once again spelled out what was to come like the Oracle of Delphi herself. One could only hope that she was more accurate in these mostly modern times.*

There was another second after that, but Shiori wouldn't remember it... ever. Angel Takudome whistled a long low note from her seat in the empty bleachers. Crusher said nothing, but moved Shiori's head with the toe of her shoe so she didn't suffocate in her unconscious breathing.*

They never shifted down either as they controlled the ring with both a plan and just pure energy. In the end it came down to All Business and UDL which was what everyone wanted to see. • In a bout that had a good crowd and some decent in-ring action, Ultimate Devastator Lemons defeated All Business and The Rainbow Girls in 12:17; the order of elimination was The Rainbow Girls first, and finally All Business.

Rumors of an impending retirement have been added to the mix of the improbable Umeko Hotta run. Her health problems are well documented but so is her experience edge over 80% of the 5SSW roster. The formula is set at this point as another youngster gambles her body against the tricks of the trade. Umeko spends more time outside of the ring than inside. But the inside time is pure quality. Flying Hopping Knee Strike! It's ugly and it wins at the same time.

"Keep Fighting!" Someone in the crowd offered Gemmei. They knew she was in over her head and Megumi Nakajima fulfilled her end of that equation by simply unloading on the youngster from the opening bell. It was textbook Nakajima as each move was delivered in perfect portions. This was a fruit of any of various vine like, tendril-bearing plants belonging to the gourd family.

A lot of talking before the match which ignites the powder keg between these two in a flash. The match only gets nastier after they spill outside and start feeding each other rows of reserved seating. It definitely takes a toll on the older Saori who holds her ribs for the remainder of the match. Back in the ring they trade straight hands back and forth for the big climax. Nakadan Spi- Shiori grabs the referee in desperation, breaking the move. Jippensha Leg Lock! and it is locked on tight.

 

• Shiori Jippensha defeated Saori Nakadan via submission in 15:45

After the match, Saori Nakadan gave the referee a hard, and uncharacteristic double handed shove to the chest out of frustration. No smiles here.

DEVIL Karube/Dragon Assassin vs. Yori Toyoshima/Yuma Maruya

 

DEVIL and Dragon look good together as always. The master and her young apprenctice is a classic tale. All the pressure is on Yori to not mess up the Main Event. Yuma does enough to get the fans hopeful before D&D begin to dismantle, decimate and, of course, destroy. Yuma has no choice but to tag in Yori who cleans house in just under 8.3 seconds! DEVIL and Dragon huddle outside for most of the 10 count before slithering back in to the ring like evil is prone to do. With the passionate moment gone it is back to work as Yori is picked apart too soon.

 

• DEVIL Karube and Dragon Assassin defeated Yuma Maruya and Yori Toyoshima in 16:48 when DEVIL Karube defeated Yuma Maruya by pinfall with a DEVIL Drop.

5SSW drew 117 fans to Muroran Hall for 5SSW Dance with Legend Tour.

 

The surprise of the night had to be the victory of Chitose and Angel over the pairing of Huntress Makiko and Kuniko Matsura. Many have Huntress pinned for better and brighter things in the future, but being pinned by Angel has to cast some doubt on that outlook because it is neither better nor brighter.

 

It seems almost certain we will see Umeko versus Chitose for the All-Asian title as long as Umeko's body holds together for one more week.

 

The World Championship Title situation is not as clear with the recent actions of Shiori Jippensha throwing things into confusion. Her victory over Saori makes her almost a sure in. Add to that the squash of Gemmei by Megumi and the continued awesomeness that is DEVIL? It's anyone's guess who will be facing Saori at this point in time.

 

One more week to go. It should be interesting to see which way Yuu turns things as we head into the big Hokkaido finale.

Go Crusher! Teach her a lesson!

 

I loved Kit's reaction. "Chokeslam?" This has clearly happened before.

 

Doesn't surprise me in the least. Crusher is really the wrong chica to mess with.

 

Who would actually provoke Crusher? Is this not very similair to the Darwin Awards? I had to write something when that came up. Bullet points just would not do the justice or capture of such the twist of road... agent.

Speaking of things that are fantastic, I believe someone has achieved joshimpeccability...

Two to the Halls of Joshimpeccability. A return trip for one and now with bonus points this tour as they are rounded up to ten. It is a good day to be of the mind that is Yuu.

 

It is family and holiday time this week, so the show was scaled back. With Yuu now pitching the matches before hand, I may cut out the booker notes a little. But I will bring back the post match interviews because they are so very Joshi.

 

This diary is... AWESOME!!!

 

Thank you very much. I now feel very, very awesome and it's a good feeling I think.

 

Oh, and thanks again for the nomination to the DOTM. It is always fun to play the game and represent the smallest niche that is Joshi Puroresu.

By the way, I hate to ask to kind of question... but the way you are using the English language is... unique... and... interesting. It doesn't seem like you are forcing yourself to do it, but, rather it seems natural.
