Rather than comment on each matchup, a couple of general thoughts...

I feel bad for Kiko, and hope she gets a chance to shine next tour. As much as I must mark for Shojo Beatdown, I want to see Kiko in the main event, and that isn't going to happen jobbing to the future Tag Team Champs.

Can't bring myself to go against Makiko, would rather see her built up as a potential challenger to Nakadan. And I think you may be setting up Hotta for a swan song All-Asian run (which would conveniently free up Chitose to take a run at the Tag Titles down the road when Shojo Beatdown have them).

Amber Allen vs. Dragon Assassin

Amber Allen isn't ready... yet. Does she have AAA, USPW, and/or NOTBPW commitments?

Rei Chikanatsu vs. Tomoko Nagatsuka

This is a bit of toss-up for me... but I have to choose.

Etsuko Arihyoshi and Kiko Sakakibara vs. Shojo Beatdown

Fuyuko is good... but so arrogant.

HEART Saitoh vs. Raku Makuda

Raku is better.

Daughters of Whirlocity vs. Huntress Makiko and Umeko Hotta

Maybe this is to free up Umeko Hotta.

Megumi Nakajima vs. Otsune Tsumura

Otsune is close... but not close enough.

DEVIL Karube and Shiori Jippensha vs. Saori Nakadan and Yuma Maruya

I think their team needs the win more.

Great points. They are in my mind too. I have many of my roster that deserve much better than I do deliver to them. I would look for the shake up of things, at least minor, as the eternal door of eternal chances is closed to a crack quite soon. Somethings will be buried in Hokkaido... of this I am sure. :)

Keeping her heated for her meeting with Yuma... and possibly another?

Rei Chikanatsu vs. Tomoko Nagatsuka

Rei seems to be favored ever so slightly over HEART

Etsuko Arihyoshi and Kiko Sakakibara vs. Shojo Beatdown

HEART Saitoh vs. Raku Makuda

And again we flip the tag team script

"She's a baby."

"And you?"

"I was never a baby."

*Yuu almost believed her. That much could be quite true.*

Not true. She was a baby when Dayu passed. No journey begins in the middle.

One of my favorite stories in 5SSW belonging to one of my favorite characters. It is the hoping time that I get to write about her in more and with smaller details. Sooner than the later. But her armor is very danger impressive and thick so far and for now.

Hi Amber. You're jobbing.

Rei Chikanatsu vs. Tomoko Nagatsuka

HEART Saitoh vs. Raku Makuda

I hate picking against my girls, but I have to here.

Daughters of Whirlocity vs. Huntress Makiko and Umeko Hotta

Hotta's getting a push before retiring. Plus, I want them to lose for rejecting my awesome name ideas.

Megumi Nakajima vs. Otsune Tsumura

Nakajima is awesome.

*It was the day of the Tues in Japan yet again as music did announce where to go. Yuu Onuki had brought back local bands and noises, anything to warm up the eternally cold crowds of the north. The music played to the ever growing crowds as Yuu took each ticket personally and with voice.*

"Please enjoy our showing."

*She tore the ticket stub and returned it. In Kinki, everyone knew who she was at the shows. But in Hokkaido she was just a girl of the ticket. She did indeed enjoy that face to wear. No stories to tell except the ones she was paid for.*

http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj188/Ippotamus/TEWresults/Purpledivide.jpg

In a bout that had a good crowd and some decent in-ring action, Kinuye Mushashibo defeated Ikuko Temko in 6:03 by pinfall with a Blue Dream.

*Dragon Assassin was in Main Event form while Amber Allen remained lost in jet lag... each of her moves were at least 8 hours behind. Things may have turned out better for Allen if she had managed to last 8 minutes.*

*Tomoko Nagatsuka may not have the charisma of Rei, but she makes up for it with a very solid technical base. This combined with Rei's natural gift for connection should have made for an exciting match. But instead it quickly turned into a grounded affair with far too much time spent on the canvas. While effective for Tomoko, it did little for the crowd or the show.*

*A great tag team exhibition that went terribly wrong as Kiko dictated the pace early and kept it with smart tags to the youthful and energetic Etsuko Arihyoshi. It was a formula destined for success until Etsuko tagged Kiko out with a closed fist to the temple. Strong Head Kick by Chiyeko on the rebound. Etsuko seals the deal by shoving the referee into position for the three. Shojo Beatdown + 1 stand with their arms raised over the fallen veteran Kiko.*

"Why? I don't need my hand held by some has been in pink. Shojo Beatdown has the right idea. Two young, hungry women joining together and making it happen on their terms. Well, I'm hungry too and I have as much talent as anyone on this roster. I'm done playing the old games."

*This match had a much more serious feel to it than part one. HEART Saitoh does not play games and Raku Makuda plays only the most dangerous ones. Each miss by Rakuda was met with ferocious reactions. It was fortunate for her that she did not miss too many. High risk paid the high reward tonight.*

*It was the Huntress Makiko show from the opening bell as Chitose and Angel seemed to be lost in their new name and theme. The damage was done in the first five minutes. Every second after that was just message after message sent from the past to the future.*

*Two young women gave it their all. But one had much more to give as Otsune's steam was not enough to carry her through a main event caliber match up against Megumi Nakajima. The last 5 minutes were brutal to behold as Nakajima played with her rag doll.*

http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj188/Ippotamus/TEWTalkingHeads/TalkingMegumiNakajima.jpg

"I'm not an idiot. I see what's going on and it makes me sick. Shori Jippensha has taken my rightful place in the main event. I should be fighting Saori tonight, not some young girl who can't finish a 15 minute match. Otsune, it will always take more than 12 minutes to put me away. Shiori, it will take you a lifetime."

*Saori is in the fire and has a strong spirit as the match marches on. She fights out of the Jippensha leg lock not once but twice the very hard way from the center of the ring. Desperation tag! No!! Dragon Assassin sweeps the feet from under Yuma. Where did she come from? Saori falls against an empty corner in disbelief, cursing with frustration as DEVIL stalks. DEVIL Drop! There's no fighting out of that.*

http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj188/Ippotamus/TEWresults/DanceWithLegend4Result7.jpg

*Saori glared at Yuma for not being there. Yuma looked tired, spent and having given her all to the match. She offered her hand to an equally spent Saori. But it was refused, and for a second time Saori left the ring with her 5SSW title under a darkening cloud. She was tired of people not being there for her. It was their fault, not hers as she slapped the fewer hands offered by the fans on the way out.*

http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj188/Ippotamus/TEWTalkingHeads/TalkingDevil-1.jpg

"Saori always has an excuse, doesn't she? I told her and all of you when this began that I was the real Ms. 5SSW. Any time I lose something, I blame myself and the second that's over? I make a plan to get back what I lost. That is what this, no, my company is all about. It doesn't matter how long you've been here. No, it's all about quality and you ask any true fan of Joshi Puroresu who the number one woman right now is? Right now, it's me DEVIL Karube."

A C- is nothng to be ashamed of. Remember, the general ratio which matters (if you have the perfect show theory on) is:

Main Event: 70%

Sub-Main Event: 20%

Everything else: 10%

A D+ opener isn't that bad. Considering the size of 5SSW, this is good enough for now. What I would worry about is building more main eventers.

Translation of the second part: It would be nice if you indicated who at this time are young lions in the roster section.

5SSW Dance with Legend Tour Results

Tuesday, Week 4, August 2010

5SSW drew 133 fans to Muroran Hall for 5SSW Dance with Legend Tour in their final push before the big Hokkaido finale tentativel titled "5SSW Fearless Sensations". Yuu Onuki is rumored to be under pressure to deliver a big show for the finale, so a packed card is expected. Two title matches have been made official that we know of. It will be Chitose Ariwara defending the All-Asian title against the resurgent Umeko Hotta. The Tag Team titles will also be on the line in a match that many here are predicting to be a MOTYC. The Ultimate Devastator Lemons will defend against All Business and Shojo Beatdown. A full card is expected in the next day or two including the Main Event.

Yuu Onuki's return to 5SSW was the spark that brought the slumbering and decaying Joshi Juggernaut back from the brink of extinction. From her restructuring of the entire tag division to her title matches where anything can truly happen, there has been much to smile about for our favorite product. But behind the scenes all has not been golden for Yuu "The Oracle" Onuki. 5SSW has remained completely shut out from both television and PPV and it's not by design. Yuu Onuki has simply failed to secure any kind of deal from the usually hungry Japanese media. 5SSW's growth so far has been done the hard way: seat by seat by seat.

Noodleshop: Good show. I am happy with its book. I am not happy with its look... too many pictures now. Grr. But I like new post-match interview style... Of course yellow paper is back... it is a trademark. But I will play with other aspects to clean up picture heavy, messy clutter. It is always a project I think. Experiment.

I am still learning the game. I drift like Yuu sometimes... it is adrift. I say I will do one thing, and I do it. But then I do the other thing and the last one is gone away. No Drifting! This is not Tokyo!

Ha! I liked other tag team names, but they sounded too tough and stompy for Chitose and Angel. Daughters of Whirlocity should fit right in with things. I expect they will be joined no less than soon by a big name team as there will be shakings after "Fearless Sensations". I am not a singular yet tricky pony.

Thanks you for all the responses, words, votes and ideas. They are always read with very much and care.

*A poster is illuminated in Hokkaido. The final act of 5SSW's play of lines collide. The eyes of the north turn but The Oracle has already become invisible, her work now with the done. She has told the future as she sees it and it will unfold just as it was said from her lips.*

Chitose Ariwara vs. Umeko Hotta for the 5 Star All-Asian title.

Hotta's swan song begins tonight, and ends when she puts over another of the hungry ones, perhaps the butterfly again.

Amber Allen and Principessa vs. Huntress Makiko and Etsuko Arihyoshi.

As much as I have a soft spot for Canadian women, it is not their time yet. (PS - Yuu, if you ever decide to turn Allen and Principessa heel, I lend you the name Bitch Clique, the name of a team/stable Principessa led in an old diary of mine.)

Angel Takudome vs. Ikuko Temko vs. Kuniko Matsura

A preview of what is to come? I like Takudome and she is the superior worker in this tandem.

All Business vs. Shojo Beatdown vs. Ultimate Devastator Lemons for the 5 Star Tag Team titles.

The Shojo Beatdown era begins tonight, and makes their ascendancy complete. But now you can throw the Daughters of Whirlocity into the mix as well.

Ginko Kuroda vs. Kiko Sakakibara vs. Yori Toyoshima

Kiko deserves this win. Kiko NEEDS this win. She has served you well, it is time for her due.

Otsune Tsumura vs. Megumi Nakajima

When in doubt, go with the better, more over worker. Otsune's single line doesn't fit in the uppercard picture.

Dragon Assassin vs. Yuma Maruya

Yuma's line was linked with Karube's through their story, but now their story is over. Time for her to make way for others.

DEVIL Karube vs. Saori Nakadan vs. Shiori Jippensha in a 1 vs 1 vs 1 Ladder match for the 5 Star World title.

Three title changes in the cold of Hokkaido? Yes. Nakadan has been a weak champion, I am afraid. Karube is the bedrock upon which the new Golden Age must be built.

Chitose Ariwara vs. Umeko Hotta for the 5 Star All-Asian title.

One last opportunity to go leave on top while adding an accolade to the resume.

Amber Allen and Principessa vs. Huntress Makiko and Etsuko Arihyoshi.

Makiko is a soldier, playing at home. Much like the Giants of Yomiuri, that gives her an advantage.

Angel Takudome vs. Ikuko Temko vs. Kuniko Matsura

Kuniko is not yet ready and Ikuko's time has passed. The Daughters need momentum.

All Business vs. Shojo Beatdown vs. Ultimate Devastator Lemons for the 5 Star Tag Team titles.

I am loathe to co-sign putting a title on Higa but there's no mistaking her talent and the Lemons are due for an implosion. Plus, this would open the door for the Daughters.

Ginko Kuroda vs. Kiko Sakakibara vs. Yori Toyoshima

Some shred of dignity, some kind of moral victory, a silver lining, has to come from this tour for Kiko.

Otsune Tsumura vs. Megumi Nakajima

Meg is a favorite of mine. No one beats her (not even DEVIL).

Dragon Assassin vs. Yuma Maruya

Only because it sets up another Yuma-DEVIL program (which is money, even if the lines disagree). This is the 21st Century version of Ogiwara-Ichihara.

DEVIL Karube vs. Saori Nakadan vs. Shiori Jippensha in a 1 vs 1 vs 1 Ladder match for the 5 Star World title.

I believe DEVIL is the best (and perhaps only remaining) person able to 'make' new stars. As the standard bearer, she would be in the best position to do that.

Angel's been on a good run since discovering Whirlocity.

All Business vs. Shojo Beatdown vs. Ultimate Devastator Lemons for the 5 Star Tag Team titles.

All Business is here to eat the pinfall. The Beatdown will win the belts eventually.

Ginko Kuroda vs. Kiko Sakakibara vs. Yori Toyoshima

Because she's better than the other two.

Otsune Tsumura vs. Megumi Nakajima

But she remains lost in the shuffle. Perhaps this will cause her to see the light?

Dragon Assassin vs. Yuma Maruya

Yuma won't be hurt by a loss.

DEVIL Karube vs. Saori Nakadan vs. Shiori Jippensha in a 1 vs 1 vs 1 Ladder match for the 5 Star World title.

Ladder match? Huh. I'm surprised the Lizard Queen is letting you get away with this ;) Shiori's turn has created a heel-heavy uppercard, so I think Saori hangs on because she'll have more challengers (and Yuu has expressed her dismay with the world title bouncing around)

Loyalty and dedication is rewarded in Japan with one last run

Amber Allen and Principessa vs. Huntress Makiko and Etsuko Arihyoshi.

Gaijin are here to learn, not to win

Angel Takudome vs. Ikuko Temko vs. Kuniko Matsura

With Chitose's wings plucked tonight, one of the Whirlocity need to fly

All Business vs. Shojo Beatdown vs. Ultimate Devastator Lemons for the 5 Star Tag Team titles.

While Shojo Beatdown have the talent, the three way action will cost them and the Ultimate Devastator Lemons will explode with freshness once again.

Ginko Kuroda vs. Kiko Sakakibara vs. Yori Toyoshima

Kiko has given quite often recently, now is time for her to receive

Otsune Tsumura vs. Megumi Nakajima

Megumi stays strong as she is still in the hunt

Dragon Assassin vs. Yuma Maruya

Dragon has stepped up, but Yuma will make her step back

DEVIL Karube vs. Saori Nakadan vs. Shiori Jippensha in a 1 vs 1 vs 1 Ladder match for the 5 Star World title.

While it means another quick title change, this allows Saori and Shiori to fight and for DEVIL and Yuma to go back to carrying your promotion

I'm pretty sure this is the best time to give her title if you really want to happen.

Amber Allen and Principessa vs. Huntress Makiko and Etsuko Arihyoshi

Amber Allen and Principessa aren't ready to win yet.

Angel Takudome vs. Ikuko Temko vs. Kuniko Matsura

Can't she her losing to the other two.

All Business vs. Shojo Beatdown vs. Ultimate Devastator Lemons for the 5 Star Tag Team titles.

Fuyuko Higa needs to be controlled... and I think, as a team, All Business is more solid than UDL is.

Ginko Kuroda vs. Kiko Sakakibara vs. Yori Toyoshima

I think this goes without saying.

Otsune Tsumura vs. Megumi Nakajima

Again? Got to go with Megumi Nakajima.

Dragon Assassin vs. Yuma Maruya

This is tough... but I have to go with Yuma Maruya. This was a 50/50% match for me. On one hand, Yuma Maruya is generally a better performer. On the other, Dragon Assassin is simply the most physically dominating wrestler in 5SSW right now, that can seriously BRAWL. In fact, she has highest initial brawling stat for female wrestlers. The ability for her to brawl means she can push a match quality higher than expected. However, her performance stats... are lacking right now, which is why I thought Yuma Maruya should go over.

DEVIL Karube vs. Saori Nakadan vs. Shiori Jippensha in a 1 vs 1 vs 1 Ladder match for the 5 Star World title.

Like everyone else said, most deserving.

5 STAR SUPREME WRESTLING FEARLESS SENSATIONS: 8.28.10

5SSW All-Asian Title Match: Chitose Ariwara © vs. Umeko Hotta

Circling to start, then a lockup. Chitose gets a waistlock, Umeko trades it in for a top wristlock. She throws Chitose down, then nails her with a knee. Chitose gets up and gets her wristlock back. Umeko reverses, but Chitose rolls up and gets an armbar. Umeko throws her down again. But Chitose gets right back up and grabs a headlock this time. Chitose seems to want to out wrestle the veteran. Umeko shoots her to the ropes, but Chitose comes back with a shoulder. Umeko leapfrogs, but Chitose stops short and gets a kick to the back, leaps out of a corner charge, then drop kicks Umeko in the back of her head. Quick sequence, as Umeko looks a little slow compared to the younger Chitose. Umeko takes some space and puts her hands on her hips, staring holes into Chitose who finally charges straight into a clothesline. Ah, youth. Umeko takes Chitose to the corner and kicks her repeatedly. Kicks turn to stomps, then a boot into a blatant choke until the referee counts a break. Out of the corner, Umeko gets a suplex and cover for 2. She applies a top wristlock, again slowing it down to her pace. Chitose gets up and out, but Umeko nails her with a Kitchen Sink for two. Umeko gets a chinlock. Chitose tries to get up again, but Umeko slugs her back down to the mat. In control again Umeko sends her to the ropes via a Japanese Whip, Wheel Kick! Umeko rolls through and off the ropes before dropping a heavily braced knee across Chitose's naked skull. Umeko finally gets some heat for that from the crowd, so she does it a second time just to be sure. Chitose cries out and there is sympathy to be had.

Umeko drags Chitose up by the hair and pushes against her, Japanese Whip is reversed and on the rebound Chitose hits a flying forearm. Chitose tries a backslide, but can't quite get it. Umeko to the corner, Chitose hits a mounted corner punch but is shoved off, Chitose mounts again but Umeko gets her hands up. Double Handed Choke Bomb! 2! Chitose is too close to the ropes so Umeko kicks her away. Up by the arm, Japanese Whip to the corner where Chitose is plastered by the Flying Knee Strike! Gravity does the rest as Chitose falls heavy to the canvas for 3.

Official Result: In a bout that had a good crowd and some decent in-ring action, Umeko Hotta defeated Chitose Ariwara in 13:53 by pinfall with a Flying Knee Strike. Umeko Hotta wins the 5 Star All-Asian title.

"This match wasn't special to me at all. That's the difference between the old guard and the new. They're looking for special moments to keep them going. This is just what I do. You can talk about age and guess about my retirement date all you want. The fact of the matter is that until one of these "special" girls, like Chitose, that are supposedly the future of this company in my sport puts me down? I am and will be the All-Asian champion. That's all."

Huntress is directing her teams every move, and its paying off with control of the ring. Tag back to Etsuko and a slam, elbow drops, but then she misses a leg drop. "I'm really sad about Chitose. She was a good Champion and I know it meant a lot to her. I tried my best tonight and it was good. I think we can make a good run together until she is ready to get her title back. I know she will want another shot at Umeko especially after all those things she said about us, the young people trying to make it here."

"Satisfied? We are just getting started, trust me. 5SSW is getting old and tired. But instead of having grace and bowing out? They want to stay in this business and rob from the true future... our future. Week after week these veterans come out here and tell us how it's going to be? Not anymore, we have the Tag Team Titles, which means we say how things are going to happen. We are keeping these, not for ourselves but for the future."

"Really? Hmm, I never really thought about it like that. Young. Old. I don't know. I just try my best. It was really hard tonight when those two were working together. I just had to wait for them to fall apart. It always happens like that. If it didn't, I would have been in real trouble. Next? I'll watch Otsune's match for sure. She's my number one. Hopefully we both come out of Hokkaido with some momentum."

Dragon, don't ever mistake my looks and attitude for weakness because I earned my place while you were free lancing the indies trying to get in. You want my place? DEVIL up first, crawls back inside and nails Saori who was just getting her feet under her. Shiori is still spiked which leaves DEVIL standing in the middle of the carnage, iconic. The crowd cheers her in her bried statuesque moment. She is DEVIL Karube and she is the baddest thing on Planet Japan. DEVIL takes her turn at climbing the ladder. Shiori lives!
