The TEW complaint thread

Recommended Posts

I hope this doesnt get locked because its probably a negative thread. I want to first say I love this game and I didnt make this thread to bash it. I just see people complain about certain things in like 9-10 different threads so I thought one mega thread would work.

One of the things I dont like is when signing a wrestler to an extension and he asks for a mid card title run when he already has the midcard title.

I also dont like when I go to sign a Robbie Retro, and he tells me he wont accept a written deal because he has lucrative jobs elsewhere, but when I try to make it PPA, he tells me he wants a written.

What are some of the things in this game that irk you?

1) Logos. I always spend like 5 hours making them.

Is that a valid complaint? I guess that's more because I insist on having a logo, don't feel comfortable requesting, and have 5 hours to spend on making a logo.

2) Pickiness. I always have trouble finding a promotion I enjoy. Mostly since I have an idea for what I'd like to do with my product, but I don't feel comfortable taking any of the existing promotions and changing them so significantly.

I thought the suggestion/tech forums were where we post complaints?

They arent really suggestings and they arent things that are broken.

Hell, it can be something as stupid as Ben Williams not being a ME for SWF that pisses you off.

I think this is a new bug b/c it literally just happened to me but I thought it was something I did. (not with Retro though)

I think thats whats supposed to happen. Its TEWs way of saying Retro is resigning with SWF and theres nothing you can do about it. Which is fine I guess, but Im guessing if USPW offered him $3-4k more a month and a spot in the main event, he'd consider leaving the SWF.

<p>I hate when I have a ton of shows in advance done for my diary but I'm too lazy to post it because of formatting. I also hate that negotations jump up in increments. Like 50-100-150 then 800-900-1000. Sometimes it's very obvious Worker X wants like 820 but now I have to give him 900.</p><p> </p><p>

Oh and the midcard title thing really bugs me too.</p>

Because the game is made to work in increments, if 900 is the next one up then obviously that's what he wants. How would it be obvious that he wanted 820? To my knowledge there is no prompt that says "Worker X feels that your offer of 800 is slightly too low, he wants 820 instead." It says that its slightly too low, which means give him the next highest one.</p>

Low 800s is a lot closer to that than 900. It seems like 801 has to = 900. <p>I really don't have many complaints, to be honest. The domination note is overpowered, hehe...</p><p> </p><p>

As for the midcard title issue... to a certain extent, it makes sense. Just because you have the title right NOW doesn't mean you're going to have it at even the end of the week. I think you should either promise them that they WILL get a new title run, OR that their current title run <em>will encompass a good portion of the duration of the new contract, possibly in its entirety.</em></p><p> </p><p>

Because, honestly, just saying they already have the belt isn't good enough. Odds are the title run is only going to last so long, and then it's gone. By guaranteeing them another title run you're promising they'll have yet another run as champ.</p><p> </p><p>

Also, it sounds better to say you're a two time world champion than a guy who held it once, but had an above average amount of time with it.</p>

It doesn't round to the nearest hundred. That's generally the minimum that you might possibly get that worker for.</p><p> </p><p> Sometimes you'll end up having to pay hundreds more.</p>

<p>How my favorite workers always wind up locked up to writtens in promotions I wouldn't want to play as.</p><p> </p><p>

Examples include: Alicia Strong, Cherry Bomb, and most recently, Lauren Easter and Raven Nightfall.</p><p> </p><p>

Also, how the coolest features wind up being the hardest to implement (well) so wind up on the cutting room floor. Sometimes I wish Adam would half-ass some things, just to see ideas come to life (even in zombie form).</p><p> </p><p>

Okay, maybe not. <img alt=":p" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p>

It grates me every time I run a show as SWF to see a "so and so looked awful/lost/dreadful out there" note on a talented worker who just isn't as over as some others in the segment. I know it makes sense and everything because it's rated on popularity so their contribution to the rating is going to be lower, and it works nonetheless as a great way to spread overness, but still, it's just the way it says it that irks me <img alt=":D" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

Keeping your options open by gauging possible interest. There isn't a single working individual who says, "I love my job so much, no one could offer me enough to leave it". Heck, I run my own business but jumped at the chance to work for Viacom for two years.

And that "for some reason" could be any of a number of things. Sometimes it's money, sometimes it's benefits, sometimes it's working hours, a lot of things can factor in. Like, I need at least 6 (and preferably 9) weeks of vacation time to take a position but I'm not gonna take a big pay cut to get it. So going through the candidacy process and getting to the 'terms' part could lead to declining the offer if said terms aren't to my liking.

Many, if not most, professionals entertain offers while they're still employed (and not planning to leave their current gig). There are companies who specialize in finding these kinds of folks (typically called 'headhunters') in all industries. If you're happy in your current situation and someone makes you an offer you like, you could always take it to your current employer and ask them to match it. Shows them that they're not the only people who value you and potentially leads to a happier employee (if they match the offer), which is win/win.

I totally agree with this, and appreciate the way it currently is in game. I know for sure that I've gone and got job interviews else where, then gone back to my current employer, who in the most recent time, not only upped my wages, but offered me a management position. So in that context, it makes perfect sense that, say, for example, AJ Styles has no intention of leaving TNA, but goes and gets himself offers from NJPW and WWE... He will then go back to TNA, who will likely match or better their offers.

I suppose the one thing that annoys me is my user character not showing up on the creative meeting lists. I just think that'd be a cool touch, but it's hardly a game ruiner. Having just bought 2010 I'm having a ball just coming up with concepts.

The problem I have with this is, that's not what the game is doing. When I bring in Mitch Naess for an interview, he's not doing it to gauge interest, get a better offer from his current employer (himself), or anything of that sort. He's entering the negotiations with me because he's SUPPOSED to be willing to sign with me - if he wasn't, I would get an e-mail saying that he's not and why he's not. So it's a bug - I don't care how anyone tries to justify it, it's still a bug - when it's impossible to sign him. The fact is if a worker's not willing to sign a written deal with a promotion, he should be willing to sign a PPA deal with them. Period. If he's not, don't waste my time with negotiations.

The other complaint I have, at least in the Cornellverse, is the inconsistency in title names...some have 'Championship' in the name of the title while others don't, even though every title is a championship. This leads to the unfortunate homepage articles that say "JD Morgan won the PSW Championship championship..."

Of course, when these two very minor things are the biggest problem with a game, you have a pretty good game on your hands. :D
