If you're looking for an original story, witty dialogue, and award winning acting...

You will not find it here.

If, however, you desire examples of raw, Bam Bam Johansson levels of ALPHA manliness, one liners, and over the top action, then this is the film for you. It's a bad film, but for all the right reasons. The more I look back on it, the more I realized I loved it. The most delightfully over the top and cheesy action film since 1990.

Again, if you're looking for something thought provoking... then don't go see it. If you want to see a what happens when Steve Austin and Randy Couture come face to face with nothing but their fists while surrounded by a ring of fire and explosions, then yes, this is for you.

There's plenty of the second (most of these guys are KNOWN for their one-liners) and I wouldn't even say the story or acting were notably bad (Randy Couture probably shouldn't do Shakespeare any time soon, though).

I think there's a difference between, say... Pulp Fiction "this is what Amsterdam is like" dialogue and good ol' one liners.

But yes, the one liners are AWESOME in this movie. Even a couple that sounded like they'd be classics in CSI: Miami.

Agree with the thoughts on Couture. While some of the actions scene involving him were the finest of the film, he's not a particularly great actor. Still, his ability to whoop ass more than makes up for it in a film like this.

In an interview on August 15, 2010, he said that he does not have a new script yet, but "It's plotted out in my mind's eye." Stallone announced that after having dinner with Bruce Willis, he was courting the actor to take on a larger role in the sequel, possibly as a "super villain." In a recent Total Film article, Willis is quoted as saying that "Even Stone Cold Steve Austin who took two bullets in the last film, he's coming back, too. Hopefully, they'll start shooting it while we're young enough to survive" and "I talked to Sly and he's going for all the marbles this time, and he's going to get everybody in this time." I would love to see Charlie Sheen in The Expendables 2.

Sources said that Stallone had been talking with Jean-Claude Van Damme, Hulk Hogan, Mr. T, Carl Weathers, Vin Diesel, Dwayne Johnson, Charlie Sheen, Chuck Norris, Lorenzo Lamas, Jeff Speakman, and Olivier Gruner about the sequel, which he intends to be "a love letter to martial arts."

Stallone reportedly wants Sheen to play a CIA agent chasing Willis' crime lord character, while Norris' role will be a cameo like Schwarzenegger's in the first film.

On January 15, 2011, it was reported that Van Damme agreed to appear under the condition that Steven Seagal is not involved

Well this franchise seems to be getting all of the big name action heroes but my question is where is Errol Flynn, Steve McQueen, Bruce Lee, Charles Bronson, and John Wayne (was going to put Clint Eastwood in there but he is still alive.)?:p

And Bruiser Brody in a cameo appearance as a mad American hobo hellbent on crushing Russians.
