Friday week 3

ESE Eternal Battle (small, 1h)

Held in The Paddington Club, attendance 5 peoples

ANGLE:

http://img10.imageshack.us/img10/4193/glenward.jpghttp://img222.imageshack.us/img222/3632/normangates.jpg

Show starts with Glen Ward coming in the ring.

Ward: You all saw last month how being Straight Edge is better than being some drunken biker, when I won the tag match against Gates and our so called champion. You all saw that straight edge is indeed better than everyone else and that´s why I want Norman Gates to give up on his misguided ways and embrace the only true way of life in straight…

Ward is stopped when Norman Gates come to the ring.

Gates: Big words from a guy who simply ride his partners co-tail to a win. How about you stop talking and actually face me in one-on-one match tonight in order to see just how good you really are?

Ward: You still haven´t learned have you? I knew you are slow but I was hoping that little progress would have happened after my dominant win last month. Well ok, it seems that you need some extra lessons so I agree to the match. Maybe some beating will get those few brain cells that you have to wake up a little.

Ward leaves the ring and goes back to backstage while Gates stare him intensively.

Larry: It´s seems Ward found some new confidence after his tag victory.

Peterson: What do you mean by new confidence? Ward is one of the best guys in here and he and even Gates knows that Gates doesn´t stand a chance against Ward.

Larry: I doubt Ward is as sure as you, only two months ago Ward was running scared from Norman when he made the same challenge.

Peterson: You are mixing cowardly and intelligence here Larry, even you should know that wrestlers need to pick their spots and two months ago simply wasn´t the right time to teach Gates who is the boss around here. E

I´m giving some promo time to Ward and Gates with them being in feud and also because they both are decent talkers. I used Modern TV opening here for those interested on what angles I use. I gave them 16 minutes which is over twice as much as I usually like to spend on promos. The reason is mainly because I have learned that my matches cannot really go more than 6 minutes so I need to burn as much time as possible on angles that could score E or better (I was hoping this might get E+ but I settle with E).

1 vs. 1

http://img210.imageshack.us/img210/4246/martinheath.jpg vs. http://img222.imageshack.us/img222/3450/pierredupontalt1.jpg

Martin Heath vs. Pierre DuPond

Pierre manages to get small doses of offence but he simply cannot ground the high flying Heath for long enough time and so Heath pick up a win with Flying Fist Drop.

WINNER: Martin Heath by pinfall in 5:44 E-

Another domination victory for Martin in order to build his overness up a little. I decided against Jacques interfering here mainly because I thought it would bury DuPond´s a little bit too much.

2 vs. 2

http://img714.imageshack.us/img714/9141/thunderbolt.jpg & http://img222.imageshack.us/img222/4388/ottohammerschmidt.jpg vs. http://img682.imageshack.us/img682/2251/franksimmonsalt2.jpg & http://img706.imageshack.us/img706/8026/vicwalker.jpg

Thunderbolt & Otto Hammerschmidt vs. Frank Simmons & Vic Walker

Thunderbolt and Walker continued their feud here as they fought mainly against each other while letting Otto and Simmons brawl with each others. In The end Otto was the one secured up the win when he managed to hit Walker with a Gutwrench Suplex. Otto was of his game tonight.

WINNERS: Thunderbolt & Otto Hammerschmidt by pinfall in 5:55 F+

Simple tag match that continued the feud between Thunderbolt and Walker. I also wanted to give Otto a win here as I usually want to keep everyone at least semi-dangerous and he didn´t have a win yet. The rating is bad but I pretty much expected it since none of these guys cannot really wrestle all that well.

1 vs. 1

http://img222.imageshack.us/img222/3632/normangates.jpg vs. http://img10.imageshack.us/img10/4193/glenward.jpg

Norman Gates vs. Glen Ward

Heated battle between these two rivals where Ward picked up the victory by quick roll up.

WINNER: Glen Ward by pinfall with cheating in 6:28 E-

The match was shorter than I would usually book but I just don´t want to take any risks here.Ward picks up the win here but the feud still continues.E- is a slight disappointment for me.

1 vs. 1

http://img10.imageshack.us/img10/344/arthurtturtle.jpg vs. http://img714.imageshack.us/img714/8043/jacquesdupontalt1.jpg

Arthur T. Turtle vs. Jacques DuPond

Turtle seemed to dominate the start but soon Pierre DuPond come to ring side.

http://img222.imageshack.us/img222/3450/pierredupontalt1.jpg

Pierre helps he´s brother where ever he could and gives him a fighting change, however Pierre distracted Turtle a little too visibly and Tyler decided to drive Pierre out of the ring side. After that there weren´t much question about the eventual winner and Turtle picked the win with Springboard Lariat.

WINNER: Arthur T. Turtle by pinfall in 7:35 E

This match was made in order to give Turtle a popularity boost via domination note before his title match. The reason was that Frisby currently has 8 points more overness than Turtle, and I feel that it´s too big cap when Frisby has about twice as much overness than my champ (Frisby has 20 (E-) while Turtle has 12(F+). In fact Turtle haven´t gained a single point of popularity before this match despite being in good promos and winning the title and getting a decisive victory note against Simmons). I wanted this to be non-title since I don´t think that face champions should have a complete push over title matches against lesser caliber opponents. Despite what I said with Heath vs. Pierre match about burying DuPond´s, I decided to use interference here, the main reason being that this was a main event so I felt that there needed to be some doubt about the winner despite this basicly being one-sided match up, and two on one advantage was the best way to do it.

ANGLE:

http://img10.imageshack.us/img10/344/arthurtturtle.jpghttp://img88.imageshack.us/img88/4507/chuckfrisby.jpg

After the match Chuck Frisby comes from backstage.

Frisby: Good job there Turtle. You actually managed to defeat an opponent. But next month I will challenge you for the title and we all know how it´s going to end.

Turtle: That’s right, Frisby we all know that it will end with you lying on your back, looking at the arena lights and wondering if anyone managed to catch the register number of that truck that just squashed you.

People started to laugh after Turtle´s notion and that’s seemed to be too much for Frisby.

Frisby: STOP LAUGHING AT ME. I´M A REAL DEAL NOT SOME DAMN COMEDY ACT. STOP LAUGHING.

Turtle: Wow, dude chill up a little, comedian are important part of society and …

Frisby: SHUT UP, I…I will destroy you, you will beg for mercy before this is over I guarantee it.

Frisby drops the mic and runs backstage with crowd still laughing.

Peterson: What an unrespectable rabble we have here, no respect for a true champion.

Larry: It seems to me that Frisby has a few screws missing and Turtle is the true champion, he beaded Frisby fair in that six man match.

Peterson: Bah, that was pure luck, we see who will be the king of the mountain next month.

Larry: Indeed we will. E+

Another promo with my top two guys. Frisby has show a more confident and less crazy side on last two shows so it was time to remind that he isn´t exactly the most balanced individual in my roster. This particular promo took 10 minutes which was the max time I could have used in this angle (post-match challenge accepted angle, not sure if it´s default or one of Sonfaro´s angles). As a side note, I originally planned to have this promo before the main event match, and make it so that Frisby was the one who arranged the main event but ultimately decided against that, mainly because ending event to a squash match didn´t seem to be all that interesting on viewers point of view, but also because I felt that it would make Frisby look pretty stupid if the match would be as easy for Turtle as I wanted it to be.

Show rating: E-

Too bad that matches seems to count more than angles in total rating, but I guess E- simply is what I should currently expect. At least the show was decent even when Frisby wasn´t in a match. As for backstage news Pierre DuPond decided it´s a good time to spread some rumors on Frank Simmons. I gave him a slap on the wrist and he promised that it won´t happen again.

Predictions: With little over half missing this round (mental note no long rants for me on the future:p) Jingo and Charasmatic Enigma managed to get to 3 points lead, but it´s still a long race so anything can still happen. Spesial well done mention should go to Boltinho who got all four right.

This month ESE Eternal Battle provides a title match between two of ESE´s top talents when champion Arthur T. Turtle puts his title on line against Chuck Frisby. The matches between these two are one-one when Turtle pinned Frisby in six man elimination match while Frisby responded in kind on tag match two months ago. Not only will there be a title match but Martin Heath and Norman Gates will clash in singles action and winner of that match will get a title shot in next month´s show. Thunderbolt and Walker will also continue their rivalry this time in three way match where they face each other´s and Frank Simmons. In our opening match Foreign Legion is facing Bali Daljit and Otto Hammerschmidt in tag team match-up.

August 2010

Friday week 3

http://img704.imageshack.us/img704/5061/ese1.jpg

ESE Eternal Battle (small, 1h)

Held in The Paddington Club, attendance 7 peoples

2 vs. 2

http://img222.imageshack.us/img222/3450/pierredupontalt1.jpg & http://img714.imageshack.us/img714/8043/jacquesdupontalt1.jpg vs. http://img706.imageshack.us/img706/2664/balidaljit.jpg & http://img222.imageshack.us/img222/4388/ottohammerschmidt.jpg

Foreign Legion (Pierre & Jacques DuPond) vs. Bali Daljit & Otto Hammerschmidt

DuPond´s showed more team work here that their opponents and that was enough for the win tonight when Jacques finishes the match with Flying Legdrop on Bali while Pierre keeps Otto busy elsewhere.

WINNERS: Foreign Legion by pinfall in 5:19 E-

Giving Dupond´s a tag team win here in order to keep them looking decent after they both played punching bags last month. This match (like some earlier tag matches) also allowed me to check if there is any positive chemistry between the pairings.

ANGLE:

http://img88.imageshack.us/img88/4507/chuckfrisby.jpg

Frisby is shown backstage again muttering with himself in an empty room.

Frisby: Tonight, I must take the title from that worthless nerd …It´s my destiny to become a champion of ESE, it´s here where I will launch my quest to stardom after being ignored for so many years…

Suddenly Frisby covers his ears and starts screaming

Frisby: I´M NOT A COMEDY ACT, DO YOU HEAR ME!!! NOT……A……COMEDY…..ACT. NO, I DON`T BELIEVE YOU, I can succeed…I can succeed…YOU WILL SEE.

Then Frisby suddenly calms down and he´s voice became very confident.

Frisby: Turtle, you have no change in hell. Tonight I show you what happens when you steal something that doesn´t belong to you. Tonight The age of Frisby will start, I guarantee that.

Larry: I´m really starting to worry about Frisby´s well being here.

Peterson: Maybe you should worry more about Turtle´s well being, I wouldn´t want to get Frisby´s way right now. D-

Pretty typical Frisby promo at this point, nothing really new here just trying to show both he´s confident, arrogant side and his mentally disturbed side in same angle. As a side note if I would write Frisby´s promos again I likely would tone down that arrogant side, it´s pretty hard to fit those two different sides on same guy, and it´s not exactly as smooth as it could be.

ANGLE:

http://img706.imageshack.us/img706/8026/vicwalker.jpghttp://img714.imageshack.us/img714/9141/thunderbolt.jpg

Walker comes in the ring and start ripping Thunderbolt.

Walker: Right, so that costume wearing freak have decided to make example on me? Who the heck he think he is, I mean I´m a god damn rock star and I will not be pushed by some ape with a cape. Tonight I will beat Thunderbolt and that homeless hobo Simmons or-what-ever-he´s-name-was and show everyone why I should be on spot light. F+

Giving Walker some mic time mainly because he should be decent talker (not sure why he gets so bad ratings with C- mic skills, lack of charisma and overness maybe?) and because I needed to spend that time somehow anyway. I guess I need to start running five matches per card since I don´t really like using this much angles (though with entertainment promotion I likely should :p)

Three way

http://img714.imageshack.us/img714/9141/thunderbolt.jpg vs. http://img682.imageshack.us/img682/2251/franksimmonsalt2.jpg vs. http://img706.imageshack.us/img706/8026/vicwalker.jpg

Thunderbolt vs. Frank Simmons vs. Vic Walker

Usual three way match where no-one isn´t able to take control. That is until Walker low blow Thunderbolt which takes him out of the fight, however rest of the plan that Walker had goes wrong as Simmons manages to get the upper hand against him and ends the match with A-Bomb on Walker. Thinderbolt was off his game.

WINNER: Frank Simmons by pinfall in 6:05 F+

Right, I presume this needs a little explanation, why would I give the win for Simmons when it´s the other two who have a storyline going? I didn´t want to give the win on Thunderbolt since I feel that he currently has an upper hand on the feud while Walker was the guy with least overness (3 , Simmons had 6 and Thunderbolt 8) so I figured that Walker winning this one would hurt Simmons and Thunderbolt more that it would benefit Walker.

1 vs. 1 winner gets a King of Network title shot

http://img210.imageshack.us/img210/4246/martinheath.jpg vs. http://img222.imageshack.us/img222/3632/normangates.jpg

Martin Heath vs. Norman Gates

Pretty even and good spirited match which unfortunately gets a bad ending.

http://img10.imageshack.us/img10/4193/glenward.jpg

Ward comes to ring side and distracts Gates enough that Heath could pick up a win with Flying Fist drop.

WINNER: Martin Heath by pinfall after interference by Ward in 5:53 E-

I want to get some title defenses for Turtle and since I rather have some reasoning for the defense I made this match which also furthers the Gates vs. Ward storyline.

ANGLE:

http://img10.imageshack.us/img10/4193/glenward.jpghttp://img222.imageshack.us/img222/3632/normangates.jpg

Ward mocks Gates a little but it´s cut short when clearly annoyed Gates attacks Ward and the two brawls to backstage area. F

Little pointless angle maybe and since it´s overness based it get the usual horrible rating, but since my matches need to be short, I have to use some extra angles and though those entertainment based angles are better it´s take much more time for me to write those than other angles/matches and I´m a lazy guy and thus choose to take the easy way out here (I made this as 5 minutes angle so it shouldn´t affect show´s overall rating.)

ANGLE:

http://img10.imageshack.us/img10/344/arthurtturtle.jpg

Turtle is shown backstage and it looks like he has something to say.

Turtle: So, tonight in our main event I will defend my hard earned King of the Network title against a nutcase who hears voices that don´t exists. But don´t think for a second that I will underestimate Frisby, he might not have everything home but he is a good wrestler and he is going to put me on though test tonight. But rest assured I will fight back with all my strength and will and once the dust have been settled I´m still going to be the King of the Network champion.

Larry: Though words from the champ who seems ready to face his toughest test yet.

Peterson: Big words indeed Turtle can talk the talk but I doubt if he has what’s it takes to walk the walk too.

Larry: Well I for one don´t doubt that he can back those words up but we will see it right now. E

Hyping the main event here and again Frisby is rated on overness here which hurts the ratings.

1 vs. 1 for the King of the Network title

http://img88.imageshack.us/img88/4507/chuckfrisby.jpg vs. http://img10.imageshack.us/img10/344/arthurtturtle.jpg

Chuck Frisby vs. Arthur T. Turtle

Chuck and Turtle had a good match here with both guys taking turns on top. The fight breaks outside of the ring several times too and that’s where it ends when Turtle and Frisby continue to brawl outside and fail to answer referee´s ten count.

DRAW by double count out in 10:22 E+

This feud will obviously continue which is why I go with draw here to keep things even between these two. Also first ever E+ match too, nice job guys.

Show rating: E

Salty Larry started spreading rumors on Turtle and that ended with a fist fight between those two. I give Larry a stern warning this time and he apparently heard it loud and clear (Guess I must have been yelling then). If this continues I will find another announcer to replace Larry.

Well, I managed to screw up (again). I accidently deleted my diary game save and as usual I didn´t have any back up save:(. Still this one is going to continue, I simply started a new save and re-run the same cards so storylines and roster are still same. However some things (ratings, chemistry and some skill levels) are little different from last save. Here ase some of the bigger ones:

-Firstly Salty Larry and Pierre DuPond don´t have bad backstage influence like they had last time.

-Seems that Turtle and Frisby cannot go as long as last time (they got E- on their title match that took same time than in my first save).

-Jacques DuPond and Bali Daljit have bad chemistry with each others this time.

Hopefully those small changes won´t affect too much on overall plan but I wanted to fill you out about this incase that someone suddenly looks better/worse than before.

Predictions: Not much to talk about predictions this time, i already explained why Walker didn´t win, and draws are always hard to predict so it´s no surprise that no-one got that right.

With last month´s ESE Eternal Battle´s main event ending in double DQ it´s going to be interesting month. Martin Heath is getting title shot this month against Turtle but how will Frisby react on the fact that he didn´t get the title that he believe belongs to him? We will likely get our answer with Frisby being scheduled to fight against Otto Hammerschmidt. Another question will be what will happen between Ward and Gates after Ward cost Gates the title shot last month? One thing is sure and that is that Gates isn´t happy and though he don´t have a match this month sources say that he will be in arena so Ward has better watch his back. With Ward being likely distracted by Gates it might give opportunity to Bali Daljit who will face Ward in singles competition. On our fourth match Thunderbolt will once again clash with his nemesis Vic Walker in one-on-one action.

Predictions:

Friday week 3

http://img704.imageshack.us/img704/5061/ese1.jpg

ESE Eternal Battle (small, 1h)

Held in The Paddington Club, attendance 4 peoples

1 vs. 1

http://img10.imageshack.us/img10/4193/glenward.jpg vs. http://img706.imageshack.us/img706/2664/balidaljit.jpg

Glen Ward vs. Bali Daljit

Bali shows lots of hearth again and early on he is actually on the top since Ward keeps looking on the ramp likely assuming that Gates is going to come in and spoil the match. But in the end Gates doesn´t come and Ward proofs to be simply too strong and he takes a somewhat easy win here after locking Judo Choke-Sleeper on Bali.

WINNER: Glen Ward by submission in 5:13 E-

The fact that Bali gets dominated likely didn´t surprise anyone anymore. I actually think that Bali might become decent midcarder at some point but right now he´s job is to job the top guys.

ANGLE:

http://img222.imageshack.us/img222/3632/normangates.jpghttp://img10.imageshack.us/img10/4193/glenward.jpg

After the match Gates finally comes from backstage with a mic on his hand.

Gates: It seemed like you where expecting someone Glen. Well you should after that stunt you pulled last month cost me a title match opportunity. But unlike you I didn´t want to spoil the match, since that’s what the fans have come here to see and that what they will see. See you now have my full attention and trust me you won´t like the results.

Gates drops he´s microphone and runs in the ring but unsurprisingly Ward escapes and heads to the ramp. However instead of simply disappearing to backstage he takes a microphone.

Ward: Well I must admit that it took quite much time to get your attention, Gates. I wish that I would have a brighter student but you got to work with what you have. You see though that sci-fi nerd isn´t exactly a great champion and role model he isn´t as bad as you would have been. I mean what kind of example would that have been for the kids if our champ would be a drunken biker who hardly stays on his feet? A bad one that what it would be and since the ESE management stupidly decided to leave me out I had to make sure that you won´t get the opportunity. You see not only did I do it for the kids, I also did it for you Gates, being a champ is a tough job and there is a lot of pressure involved and weak minded peoples often brake under pressure. And let’s face it Gates you are weak minded, that’s why you spend your time in bars drinking instead of doing something useful, but don´t fear, since I will save you from your torment and guide you to the path of straight edge.

After those words Ward leaves to backstage leaving Gates in the ring. Gates seems furious and simply stares to the entrance ramp like he could still see Ward. E

Simply continuing the feud here as after Ward costing the title shot on Gates last month it was clear that there needed to be some confrontation. I must admit that I kind of start to enjoy this particular feud, maybe because both characters are easy to write and somewhat different from my usual face/heel characters.

ANGLE:

http://img210.imageshack.us/img210/4246/martinheath.jpg

Heath is show backstage and it looks like he has something to say.

Heath: Here I am, going into tonight’s main event and getting a title shot against my friend. Let me assure you that I will do everything on my power to prove that I´m deserving this shot. Now you see I´m first to admit that my win last month wasn´t clean and since it was tainted win it didn´t prove nothing. Tonight I will redeem myself and show you why I deserve to be in main event and why I deserve to be your champion. E-

Basic promo that hypes this month´s main event and also noting that since Heath is a good guy he aren´t happy by the way he got the title shot.

1 vs. 1

http://img714.imageshack.us/img714/9141/thunderbolt.jpg vs. http://img706.imageshack.us/img706/8026/vicwalker.jpg

Thunderbolt vs. Vic Walker

Thunderbolt seemed to be in control for most of this match, but Walker leveled the playing field with his usual dirty tricks. In the end it was the dirty tricks that proved to be more effective after Walker manages to hit Thunderbolt with Standing Hot Shot after low blowing him whole the ref wasn´t watching. Thunderbolt was of his game again.

WINNER Vic Walker by pinfall after low blow in 3:32 F

Walker gets a win here to make things more even. This feud isn´t delivering much so I presume I won´t keep it going much longer.

ANGLE:

http://img10.imageshack.us/img10/344/arthurtturtle.jpg

Turtle is shown backstage when he prepares on his match tonight.

Turtle: Another day and another title defense against world class opponent. I know Heath is going to be though opponent and I will need my best game, in order to retain my King of the Network belt and that´s exactly what I going to do. But there is also the case of Chuck Frisby. Last month we fought in the main event for this very title and though I didn´t lose that match, I didn´t win either, which means that the things between me and Frisby are still un-settled. So Frisby, despite what might happen this month I will challenge you for another match on next month title or non-title, let’s have another go and see who truly is better wrestler. E+

Turtle has another solid promo, well on ESE´s standards at least. For those that are interested this was self hype promo which explains why it got so good rating. The reason for this was that since this hyped both Turtle´s match tonight and his on-going fight against Frisby I didn´t feel comfortable to use 1 vs. 1 hype or worker taunts another angle that I´d normally use in these situations, plus the fact that self hype angle scores better that 1 vs. 1 hype thus giving better ratings (little cheap, yes, but it works so why not?).

1 vs. 1

http://img88.imageshack.us/img88/4507/chuckfrisby.jpg vs. http://img222.imageshack.us/img222/4388/ottohammerschmidt.jpg

Chuck Frisby vs. Otto Hammerschmidt

This was quite one sided on Frisby´s favor. Frisby seemed very intense and angry and he´s aggressiveness took Otto by a surprise and though he manages to put up some kind of a fight there isn´t much question about the winner on any point and Frisby seals the deal with Neckbreaker.

WINNER: Chuck Frisby by pinfall in 7:25 E-

Another domination victory, I kind of hope there would be another way to build my guys but so far this is the only way I have managed to do it. Well ok I know there is (long angles and probably good matches too) but so far those hadn´t have any effect so either I do it wrong or those promos/matches aren´t good enough. On the flip side no-one hadn´t really lost overness either (I expected Frisby to lose overness after that draw with Turtle for example but he didn´t) so guess I don´t really have much reason to complain.

1 vs. 1 for the King of the Network title

http://img10.imageshack.us/img10/344/arthurtturtle.jpg vs. http://img210.imageshack.us/img210/4246/martinheath.jpg

Arthur T. Turtle vs. Martin Heath

Even and hard fought match between two friends, but eventually Turtle proves why he is a champ and hits Martin with Sky Twister Press and picks up his third successful title defense.

WINNER: Arthur T. Turtle by pinfall in 9:45 E

Wanted to give Turtle some title defenses since I feel that promotions that have only one show per month need to have title defenses often. However since my way to build up storylines are similar to WWE/TNA I need to use this kind of throw away defenses between the real title feud matches so that I can build up the feud a little bit. Heath was a good candidate since he´s over enough to be reliable contender but since he is face I likely won´t have any long feud between him and Turtle any time soon so I didn´t need to worry about repetitive booking penalty becoming a problem later.

ANGLE:

http://img10.imageshack.us/img10/344/arthurtturtle.jpghttp://img88.imageshack.us/img88/4507/chuckfrisby.jpg

After the match Turtle gets a microphone and calls out Frisby.

Turtle: FRISBY, what do you say, are you ready to have rematch next month are have you fallen so deep on you pit of despair that you cannot compete?

Frisby comes out looking little unstable.

Frisby: I know what you want Turtle, you want to give that title that is rightfully mine and end this torment that I have brought upon you. But it will not end yet, you seen I have just began, you had your change last month but you decided to steal my spotlight again by having yourself counted out. For that, I´m going to…

Turtle: Wow, wow, wow, dude chill out a little, you sound even more insane than normally, First of all we where both counted out so I didn´t steal anything and secondly what torment you have brought upon me? I mean did I miss something?

Frisby: Torment you idiot, I have tormented you for months and…

Turtle: Months? Tormented? Sorry, but maybe I have been sleeping when

you did that, I mean it´s quite a torment to have to listen to you but…

Frisby: YOU DARE TO MAKE FUN OF ME? I WILL SHOW YOU THAT I´M…

Turtle: A comedy act? Yes we know and you are pretty funny at times I give you that much.

Frisby: NO, NO, You… you will not laugh for long.

Frisby escapes backstage followed by laughter of the crowd.

Turtle: Here he goes again, wait… I don´t think I got an answer from him… of well guess I have to think something else. D-

Another solid promo from these two and poor Frisby, I make fun of him again :p. That said I kind of forgot to bring that torment on Turtle that Frisby promised few shows ago and this was a little nod for the fact that Frisby´s tormenting techniques might be little rusty :p. Ok on a more serious note since I want to built Turtle I cannot really afford for Frisby to do successful run-ins on Turtle´s match and since beat down angles work so badly there isn´t all that much that I can do to make it look like Frisby is really haunting Turtle (that would get over F+ rating). I try to make something up though.

Show rating: E

Yes I know I said I should start booking five matches instead of four (actually I had said that at least twice now) but this was a rare case where I felt I need to have so many angles that there was no time for fifth match (in fact I originally planned to have an angle for Walker/Thunderbolt too but I just had to cut that in order to fit everything else).

In this month´s ESE Eternal Battle we will have five matches. In our main event Chuck Frisby will face the Norman Gates in a match that will likely be very interesting match. Our champion Arthur T. Turtle will also be in action when he faces Frank Simmons in non-title match. Thunderbolt has also challenged another evil doer to a match. This time it´s the straight edge Glen Ward, who is facing the wrath of our masked superstar. Speaking of Thunderbolt his nemesis, Vic Walker, is facing Bali Daljit in a hope to capitalize on his win against Thunderbolt in last month. Foreign legion will also be in tag team action when they face Martin Heath and Otto Hammerschmidt.

Predictions:

Martin Heath & Otto Hammerschmidt vs. Foreign Legion (Pierre & Jacques DuPond)

Glen Ward vs. Thunderbolt

Bali Daljit vs. Vic Walker

Frank Simmons vs. Arthur T. Turtle

Chuck Frisby vs. Norman Gates

October 2010

Friday week 3

http://img704.imageshack.us/img704/5061/ese1.jpg

ESE Eternal Battle (small, 1h)

Held in The Paddington Club, attendance 7 peoples

2 vs. 2

http://img210.imageshack.us/img210/4246/martinheath.jpg & http://img222.imageshack.us/img222/4388/ottohammerschmidt.jpg vs. http://img222.imageshack.us/img222/3450/pierredupontalt1.jpg & http://img714.imageshack.us/img714/8043/jacquesdupontalt1.jpg

Martin Heath & Otto Hammerschmidt vs. Foreign Legion (Pierre & Jacques DuPond)

Foreign Legion showed better team work than the throw away team of Heath and Otto but they managed to stay in the match thanks to Heath´s high flying offence and Otto´ s brawling skills. In the end it was the good guys who picked up win when Heath hit Jacques with Flying Fist Drop while Otto kept Pierre away.

WINNER: Martin Heath & Otto Hammerschmidt by pinfall in 5:42 E

Heath was the best guy in this match and high enough on the card so that it overruled the Foreign Legion´s tag team experience. I need to rebuilt Heath´s overness again (he lost all the overness he had gained when he lost to Turtle last month) though this match likely didn´t affect anyone´s popularity. Main even worthy match here though, not bad at all from these guys.

ANGLE:

http://img714.imageshack.us/img714/9141/thunderbolt.jpghttp://img706.imageshack.us/img706/8026/vicwalker.jpg

Thunderbolt comes in the ring before his match and takes a microphone.

Thunderbolt: I will soon fight against the evil doer Glen Ward but before that I have to address another villain who tries to conquer ESE. Vic Walker, you might have won last time via underhand tactics but like every good superhero I just won´t stay down so I challenge you to another match next month. That match will determinate if the forces of justice can triumph over forces of evil.

Walker comes from backstage with a confident smile on his face.

Walker: So mister costume freak wants another match with the rock star. Now even though is a crime for someone like you being in the same spotlight with someone so great and popular than me I´m going to accept. I will break you in half, if you survive against your tonight´s opponent that is.

Walker goes back to backstage and Ward´s music starts signaling that the next match will soon start. (Challenge F + Challenge accepted F+)

These two just can´t have a good match or promo with each other´s so I decided not to milk this feud anymore. I already have another undercard feud on my mind, it remains to be seen if it do any better than this one but I like to give some screen time to lesser talents as well.

1 vs. 1

http://img10.imageshack.us/img10/4193/glenward.jpg vs. http://img714.imageshack.us/img714/9141/thunderbolt.jpg

Glen Ward vs. Thunderbolt

Thunderbolt bites more than he can chew here as Ward dominated most of the match after getting upper hand with thumb in the eye early.

WINNER: Glen Ward by pinfall in 4:43 E-

Filler match that give Ward a little more overness via the usual domination note. Ward starts to be quite over right now (well on ESE´s standards anyway).

ANGLE:

http://img10.imageshack.us/img10/4193/glenward.jpghttp://img222.imageshack.us/img222/3632/normangates.jpg

Ward starts to celebrate his victory but that is cut short when Gates comes from backstage and attack Ward. Ward tries to fight back first but then decides that it´s time for tactical retreat.

Peterson: What a coward Norman Gates is attacking without reason.

Larry: With out of a reason? Haven´t you noticed anything that Ward has done a last few months.

Peterson: Yes I have, Ward has dedicated his life in order to help those poor misguided fools like Gates and that´s the thanks he is given?

Larry: I say he got what he asked for but that just me, anyway we have a next match starting soon. F

Yes it´s another overness angle and yes it´s rating sucks. This is more of the case about how I like to build story, than trying to maximize ratings. Ward and Gates had all talk segment last month and I didn´t really want to have another just talk angle (with no action what so ever between this and last month angle the situation would have been exactly same meaning that it would just have been a repeat of their previous segments with no new history behind it) and with them not being in same match this was the best way doing it and I have to admit that I simply like using these assault angles to further my feuds.

1 vs. 1

http://img706.imageshack.us/img706/2664/balidaljit.jpg vs. http://img706.imageshack.us/img706/8026/vicwalker.jpg

Bali Daljit vs. Vic Walker

Even match here with Walker winning in the end with a low blow plus Standing Hot Shot combo.

WINNER: Vic Walker by pinfall after cheating in 4:41 F+

I originally wanted to give the win for Bali here especially since Thunderbolt lost he’s match, but Walker is decently over right now thanks to that win over Thunderbolt and with the last battle coming between Walker and Thunderbolt it would have been stupid to lost Walker´s popularity here especially since Bali isn´t really getting any push right now.

1 vs. 1

http://img682.imageshack.us/img682/2251/franksimmonsalt2.jpg vs. http://img10.imageshack.us/img10/344/arthurtturtle.jpg

Frank Simmons vs. Arthur T. Turtle

Turtle managed to stay on top pretty much the whole match and but Simmons away with Spring Board Lariat.

WINNER: Arthur T. Turtle by pinfall in 8:18 E-

Well you know the trend by now, building Turtle´s overness closer to Frisby´s level. I forgot that Simmons cannot go this long again.

ANGLE:

http://img10.imageshack.us/img10/344/arthurtturtle.jpghttp://img88.imageshack.us/img88/4507/chuckfrisby.jpg

After the match Turtle is blindsided by Frisby who beats Turtle quite badly before enough officials come in the ring to stop him. Turtle is carried away with a stretcher while Frisby stays in the ring looking very intense.

Larry: What a coward Frisby is attacking Turtle from behind.

Peterson: Turtle had that one coming and he definitely deserves that beating. F+

Pretty much same situation that with Gates/Ward plus like I noted in last show Frisby haven´t exactly made Turtle´s life hard so it´s time to fix that up a little bit. Announcers made their usual 180 degree turn when face/heel changed places, boring and little too predictable maybe but it always amuses me how quickly everyone turn their coats in wrestling stories and somehow I actually like it :p.

1 vs. 1

http://img88.imageshack.us/img88/4507/chuckfrisby.jpg vs. http://img222.imageshack.us/img222/3632/normangates.jpg

Chuck Frisby vs. Norman Gates

Frisby shows same intensively and aggressive attack style than last month but Gates seems more prepared for it and in fact seems to enjoy the all out brawl. Match stays quite even for the most of the time but in the end Frisby manages to win with Neckbreaker.

WINNER: Chuck Frisby by pinfall in 7:05 E-

Frisby gets a somewhat big win here against a decent opponent. I have a little problem with my main events since there isn´t all that many guys that I can throw there and hope to get better than E- rating and those few match-up´s that could possible get E rating a pretty much reserved as possibly future or current feuds.

Show rating: E-

Well pretty much what I expected here though I´m little surprised that Gates and Frisby couldn´t have E rated match. I got that “there is a feeling that some angles didn´t reach the standards set by the in-ring action” note which was expected as well thanks to those overness based angles. As a side note I decided to check my popularity after 8 shows and it was 2.0%? Man I thought I did badly last time but now I´m setting a new record again :p. My hope that I could get some better guys after two years seems to be a little bit optimistic, heck I probably don´t have even F overness by then. On the plus side I´m making a little profit currently so I managed to fill my goal about having a profitable local company. Since my main goal is hitting to small at some point I likely need to hire a guy or two to help me and in fact I already signed one guy who I think could help me a little bit.

Dont worry sbout the slow growth. It always seems like that with a small company (as Im sure you know!) so stick with it.

You will get some guys you didnt think you could afford, especially when the NSW chaps start turning up.

Joe Simpson is supercheap and has more talent than youd think in year 1, and doesnt Bedlam come in in 2011?

Yeah, I´m used to slow growth just was little surprised that it was that slow even compered to my earlier diary. This is the first time I´m booking promotion that is biased towards overness (though I have now started another game with BobInc.´s Womans mod where I also run similar product.) so I´m kind of learning this while I´m booking:D.

Some NSW guys have already graduated (War Machine, Ricky Storm, Joe Simpson etc.) but 21CW is still having them on their roster except Simpson and Dwayne Dark and I´m not particularly high on either one though I probably should at least see if they are willing to work with 150$ per show. The problem is that since I´m based in UK where those NSW graduates have some overness I´m not going to get them as cheaply as I did in my last diary.

As for Bedlam he is definitely on my short list once he graduates. Like I said I´m not particularly high on Simpson but he seems to have decent performance skills so he might work as a jobber.
