Wow, this really kicked off over night. Guess I will join the party.

Studio - Ascending Numbers Production

Title- Interview: Death-Row

Lead Actor- Joseph Gordon-Levitt (40'000)

Lead Actress- Natalie Portman (75,000)

Supporting Actor- Jim Parsons (45,000)

Supporting Actress- N/A

Director - Christopher Nolan (200,000)

Genre- Psychological Thriller

Pitch (Slightly tired, hopefully this makes sense) - The plot centres around an un-named Journalist (Jim Parsons) interviewing a notorious mass-murderer Michael Boothe (Joseph Gordon-Levitt). The scenes between the Journalist & Boothe take place within a police interview room, presumed to be within the prison where Boothe is held, with other scenes taking place in the form of flash-backs triggered by the Journalists questions.

Boothe had been recently convicted of the murder of 9 victims, and the attempted murder of Hollywood actress Jade Fincher (Natalie Portman). The un-named journalist has gained exclusive access to interview him.

While the scenes between Boothe and the Journalist provide the basis of the film, and provides nessecarry insights into the life of Boothe (along with occasional humor from the Journalist (Parsons)) the main story of the film occurs from flashbacks. These show Boothe's process of stalking & intimidating Jade Fincher, causing fear to take over her life, and builds towards the attack on the Actress (which police manage to stop at just in time). However, while being dragged away, Boothe proclaims that he is not done killing yet.

Coming out of the flash-back, the Journalist is seen laying in a pool of his own blood, police sirens are heard in the background, with the door to the interview room wide open, leaving the film on the cliff-hanger of whether Boothe had escaped.

The film focuses more on the psychological side of the murderer, rather than focusing on action.

Location- Chicago, Illinois

Budget- $700'000 ($360'000 Cast/Director - $340'000 Production)

Duration - 1 Hour 55 Minutes (115 Mins.)

I think that this is a wonderful thread - lots of fun happening here.

Couple of suggestions (just in terms of organization).

1. Have periods for movies and have everyone submit their movie by a certain date.

Something like: I am now accepting movies for the June 2011. Then give everyone 1 day to submit their movies? Then, you (and your council) can spend a day reviewing the movies, post the reviews (and update the actor costs, etc.)

This could have game mechanics potential - you could give people first come first serve on actors (e.g., Matt Damon can only be in one movie in June) require people to list a release date. If there are too many action movies in a short-time period, it could hurt the worse movies or something?

2. Update the first post with a list of actors, directors, and current costs?

I know I'm asking for additional work for something you're doing for fun, but I'm just trying to improve the readability of the thread.

Either way, I'll be reading. Great stuff <img alt=":)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

Title- The Masters Plan

-A Way Out In Left Field Production-

Lead Actor- Zac Efron ($30,000)

Lead Actress- Cameron Diaz ($50,000)

Supporting Actor- Morgan Freeman ($75,000)

Supporting Actor- Karl Urban ($15,000)

Director- John Lee Hanc0ck (The Rookie, The Blind Side) ($75,000)

Genre- Sports Drama

Plot- The mind behind surprise comedy hit The Mark tries a new direction in Way Out In Left Field Productions' second film, The Masters Plan. The wit and subtle humor that made The Mark a box office gem is still flowing out of Left Field, but it takes a backseat to a more serious film about ambition, revenge, self-control, and forgiveness.

Zac Efron (Charlie St. Cloud)stars as TJ Matthews, a young golf prodigy known for his furious 325+ drives off the tee and undying will to make it on the PGA Tour. As Matthews finishes off his collegiate career at Stanford, we learn more and more about that inner fury and drive to succeed inside him.

His mother, played by the great Cameron Diaz (Knight and Day, The Green Hornet), has been training up her son for the ultimate revenge since he could walk. A former exotic dancer with a troubled past, Diaz's character, Molly Matthews, gave birth to then-hotshot rookie, now five-time PGA champion Chris Danielson's (Karl Urban, RED) illegitimate child. Before walking out on Molly and unborn TJ, Danielson told her that she or TJ "would be poor, worthless trash that would never amount to anything".

Molly repeated this to her son throughout his childhood, driving him to one day beat his father at his own game. The pain of Danielson's abandonment and the pressure to defeat him makes TJ hit the ball a country mile, but lose control...on and off the course.

Enter Reggie Jones (Morgan Freeman), a civil rights legend in the game of golf and TJ's new swing coach and caddie. Jones begins the process of controlling TJ's power and character under pressure as they fight for a chance get in the Tour and ultimately, The Masters tournament.

TJ's frustrations make him a terrible student, but Jones sticks with it until he gets the prodigy into the Tour and into the Masters. In Danielson's signature event, TJ shoots up the leaderboard all the way to a Sunday pairing with his hated father.

What followed would be an emotionally-charged fight to the finish, as TJ's former demons come out again at the sight of Danielson. This gripping drama and intense look into raw emotion will have audiences on the edge of their seats to the very last hole at Augusta National.

Location- Various golf courses in US, including Pebble Beach, Pinehurst No. 2, and, of course, Augusta National

Budget- $300,000 (Cast...includes cameos by PGA Tour pros and television personalities) + $800,000 (Production) = $1.1 million

Duration- 2 Hours, 27 Minutes

Just a question that I have thought of : If we have 'no name' actors in a film (in big roles not just extras) how is that handled? Do they even have to be mentioned in terms of Lead/Supporting actors?

Just curious a's a film idea I have has one big-name, but would feature many other no-names in major roles.

As it stand I don't have a council, although that would be great with how this has taken off, so if anyone would like the honors of being on please shoot me a PM and I'll be more than happy to make you a member. I like the idea of progressing it like a game IE saying I'm not accepting movies for this month. The problem with that is at least for now I'm only one person and if I give a 24 hour or more window for everyone to hit me with a movie I'm going to get overwhelmed rather quickly. Having said that I do like the idea and would like to find a way to implement it so that not everyone is using the same actors at the same time. I think my goal is to get around 20 or so different studios then laying down a few rules and such to make things like that happen. The last thing I want is to spend a couple days making them all up then have everyone get tired and stop playing lol.

This causes Hollister to have nightmares, leading to a point where he locks the knife in a safety deposit box. The next day, he finds his wife Mary(Hilarie Burton) dead, the knife in his hand. Stricken with grief and guilt, he does everything he can think of to get rid of the knife, but something kept making it come back. It didnt matter if he threw it in a fireplace or threw it in the Hudson. He tried to stop it by stabbing himself, but the knife became dull upon impact. He even tried going to a priest(DeNiro) to perform an excorcism on the knife, which resulted in the priest having his neck slashed. Suicide by Cop seemed like a forced ending and really took away from an otherwise decent film.
I have added another small element to the main post, here it is:

Movies sizes when paying for production: > 5,000,000 = Small/Independent, > 25,000,000 Average Production Costs, 100,000,000 or more is considered a Blockbuster with Mega advertising.

Let me know if this makes sense to everyone. It's just basic sizes for studios in terms of the size and advertising of the movie. This is the production cost and does not take actor salary into consideration. The idea is pretty simple, the more you pay in production cost the more likely you are to make bigger cash in the box offices.

Can I request prices of Daffney, David Spade, Terry Funk, and Jensen Ackles?
