KO Productions has released their newest film, The Black Widow. The company has wen't in a completely different direction to their debut film "The Ultimate Hair Battle", this time producing a Drama film. The one constant is the use of an MMA fighter, this time Quinton 'Rampage' Jackson. The plot of the film is unique and well delivered, but my main comments concern the actors used.

This film features Ashley Tisdale & Quinton Jackson, as a murderer & and FBI agent respectively, who begin a relationship despite Phil Basso (Jackson) investingating the murders committed by Nicole Peterson (Tisdale), although Basso does not know Peterson is a suspect until they are in a relationship. The film further distances Tisdale away from her "Disney Princess" image, which has currently been a successful direction change for the young actress. Tisdale shines in the role, however we cannot say the same for Jackson, who fails to deliver the passion and emotion needed to be successful in this genre. Jackson is not helped out by being the only major male character in the movie, with no-one else to help develop the FBI side of the story.

In summary, this film is very unique, and Ashley Tisdale shines in her role, but Quinton Jackson wasn't at the same level. In my opinion the roles would have been better off reversed, with Jackson being the cold killer, and Tisdale being the agent, but how that would have played out we may never know.

Rating - 2.5 Stars

Revenue - $1.75 Million

Effects

-Ashley Tisdale now wants $50'000 per movie

KO Productions now has $2'575'000

You are lucky you did not steal his cell phone. The numbers on there?" Aldo's eyes lolled around in his head and he mopped his brow with the remains of the sandwich, as though the idea had given him a sudden fever. This is the type of film that may gain cult status, but one that will never become a mainstream success. The film centres around two characters having a conversation in one location. The two characters are Aldo, who is seemingly a large player in a mob type organisation, and Inning, a lowly pickpocket who apparantly picked the wrong person recently.

The plot and location of the film damages its appeal, as it focuses on one continuous coversation, between two characters, set in one location. This meant that at points the film dragged on, with few gripping points to excite the audiences. That being said if you can keep your concentration Pitt & Malkovich give good performances, and convey the emotions required excellently. The main problem was that there wasn't a large amount to be excited about, or one character to emotionally invest in. Inning could have been more relatable if his character was developed more, whether thats saying he has to pick pocket to feed his family or anything else, because there was nothing really likeable about him as a petty criminal.

Overall this was a decent film. Great performances by Malkovich and Pitt saved what was a lackluster plot, but unfortunately that won't make the film a box office success.

Rating: 2 Stars

Revenue: $1'200'000

Rose Red Productions now has $1'219'000
