One day she meets Jake Storm (Jack Black) and it becames a love on the first sight. Jake Storm is schools Janitor so he is not in school every day and that is why Rebecca keeps fleeing from her school to meet with Jake. Jermaine Dons (Josh Holloway) is local police sergeant who is looking for Rebecca, while she keeps escaping from him in the classic Tom and Jerry style. I don't even know where to start with this review.

My first criticism is the casting of Rebecca Black. What was the studio thinking, had they not seen the backlash against Friday. Or the horrible film "I Want To Crucify Rebecca Black", which despite its title still managed to flop. Black is obviously not a top class actress, whose performance in the film is abysmal, the list of offences includes looking directly into the camera, forced performance of lines & late timing on both actions and dialogue.

My next observation was the choice of Black's love interest. Would it be another 13 year old with little to no talent. I wish. Chosen for the role was Jack Black, a man over 3 times older than Rebecca. This relationship was wrong on so many levels, made worse by the fact Black played a slightly creepy Janitor.

Josh Holloway bought a slight amount of respectability to the cast, but even he was visibly frustrated. What at? Too many things to list.

Next up on my complaints list is the director and the length of the film. Uwe Boll isn't known for producing quality films in his favourite genres, so his comedy direction was all over the place. The film lasted a whopping 3 Hours 12 Minutes, longer than I wish to sit watching a good movie, let alone this poor excuse for a film.

Somehow the film managed to generate a tiny amount of revenue, I assume from hipsters watching the film to be ironic.

Rating: 0 Stars

Revenue: $2'000

noobyboy now has $632'000

Still to Review:

Code Red - 1234

The Ultimate Hair Battle - damonster

Plot:

Thirteen starts off with a darkened corridor that the camera pans down until arriving at a jail cell and inside sits a decrepit old man laughing whilst rocking back and forwards. Then it cuts to a black screen which reads;

“January 2nd 1981 was the day that Great British Police captured the most notorious woman killer of the 20th century: Peter Sutcliffe. This is the story of how one man acted under Gods will.”

The text disappears leaving a black screen to which the voice of the infamous; Yorkshire Ripper (Michael Caine) recounts the first victim. As he gives a voice over a flashback shows a young Sutcliffe (Stephen Graham) following the first victim; a young mother but before we see her get killed it cuts to the cell (in present day) and he describes what he did to her (not holding any details back).

Next we see the second victim (Helena Bonham Carter) being befriended by the killer but this time we saw him stab her once but as he begins to get more angered we cut back to present day. When we go back we had the account of how he stabbed her another 50 times. As he gives the brutal and sickening account, Sutcliffe has an emotionless face almost as if he wasn’t there when it was happening.

The film continues to recount the vicious murders up until his 5th, he seems to break down and show remorse due to the victim being only 16 years old. His speech slows and it cuts back to the past where we see the helpless teenager fall victim to a demented murderer but what was shown in another scene was the mass hysteria amongst the women of Yorkshire as no one was safe.

This format is followed throughout the film but with each murder, there is shown more and more details of the murders and Michael Caines delivery stays as emotionless as the first one.

Throughout the film he tells of how he evades the police and almost shows and arrogance towards them as he evaded capture for over 5 years. He also mentions how he was an idol to the people through the fake Yorkshire Ripper letters and audio sent into the Police.

The film ends as Sutcliffe in the present day sits in his cell with a wide smile on his face and says: “Thirteen is only the beginning, He has bigger plans for me” and the film fades to black.

The film tells the story of a janitor that, as the title suggests, ends up as a "detective for a day" due to his somewhat unethical habit of answering other people's phones. The film has its moments that are both cute and funny, but ultimately ends up flat. Roth, better known for his success in the horror genre, is not well suited for this type of film and it shows. Meanwhile, Affleck and Longoria despite being well cast, seem lost in their roles, as the script for the film does provide much room for character development nor character identification.

Taken as a whole, the film, which has an interesting premise, was let down by its director and by the lack of nuance in its script. Still, a small audience exists for this style of film and while the film will likely be winning any awards, it looks set to earn Red Rose productions a small amount of profit.

Rating: 1.5 out of 5

Revenue: 1,514,000

Rose Red Productions now has 1,519,000.

Effects: None

The film opens with Chris, along with other soldiers, in a Jeep, carrying out a routine patrol of a local area. The group share banter, and a mocking mention is given to Chris wanting to be a superhero, and that his dad is building a costume. However things quickly turn for the worse when the Jeep is attacked and damaged and a gunfight ensues. Several of the soldiers are killed in the battle; that leaves only Chris & one other soldier Blake (Ralph Fiennes) alive.

The pair receive orders over the radio to retreat, however Blake proclaims that he is going to stay and fight despite Chris’s urges to follow the command. Chris eventually retreats (on foot, since the vehicle is damaged), leaving behind Blake, who is screaming that Chris is a coward as he runs away.

Chris finds himself lost in a vast desert area, having lost communication with the base. After days of walking, and verging on dehydration, Chris sees a small cave in the distance, and runs to explore it. Once inside he explores, but finds nothing, as he is about to leave he falls through the sand, and into a large cavern.

Inside the cavern is many large statues of Greek gods, and an old book on an alter. Once he has recovered from the fall he admires the large statues, before noticing the book. He reads the contents out loud, the general message is “Whoever finds this book has been selected by the gods above, and will be granted the powers to become the hero the world needs.” As soon as he has finished reading a bright flash of light appears, and an earthquake begins that brings down the entire cavern, seemingly crushing Chris.

The next scene opens with bright light above, and things coming back into focus (meant to portray Chris’s eyes opening). It is revealed that Chris is in hospital. Upon noticing that he is now awake Chris’s girlfriend Zoey (Jennifer Love Hewitt) rushes over to hug him, and reveals that Chris was at the centre of an earthquake, which nearly killed him, but luckily allowed him to be found by Seismologists. Chris reveals what happened before the earthquake, but doctors say that it is probably a hallucination that occurred while he was unconscious. The doctors also reveal that it will require lots of physical therapy before Chris can expect to live a normal life again.

However, in the first session of therapy Chris quickly displays he still has the ability to function normally, shocking the doctors. He then undergoes a series of physical tests, which reveal that he is able to run faster, and lift more weight then any human could. This stuns doctors, but Chris is able to discharge himself before Doctors can run more tests. He travels home with Zoey, who now believes Chris about the events in the cave.

Chris returns home to find several letters from the Army, informing him that due to recent events he has been discharged. The letters also reveal that Blake was discharged for ignoring orders. Chris then goes to his (adoptive) father’s house. It is there that it is revealed that Chris was adopted, after his parents died. Chris’s dad, Michael (Michael Caine), is revealed to be a scientist/inventor, and reveals he has something to show Chris. It is a full armour bodysuit (think & black coloured Iron-Man suit), that is apparently a design Chris made when he was a kid, dreaming of being a superhero. But the suit is not safe for use as it uses harmful chemicals, something Michael is trying to find an alternative for. After talking about Chris’s experiences at war, Michael reveals that Blake has called several times while he was unconscious, asking for Chris to visit him at the local prison.

While visiting Blake the pair get into a heated argument, with Blake accusing Chris of leaving him to die, and that while Chris got a honourable discharge that entitles him to free medical care and a good pay-off, he had to resort to petty crimes which landed him in prison, all because he fought for his country.

While Chris is at home, with Zoey, coming to grips with his new life, he is visited several times by eager reporter Georgina Spector (Kate Beckinsale), looking for an interview with the real-life Superhuman, but Chris keeps turning her away. This makes Chris realise that he could live his dream as a super-hero, and begins designing a costume (a red body suit, with a Greek symbol on the front). He gives himself the name “Code Red”

He quickly gains fame for catching small criminals, but does not reveal to anyone that he is taking advantage of his powers (which appear to be increased Speed, Strength & Durability). But things turn sour when a TV special comes on (produced by Georgina Spector), revealing that Chris is in fact “Code Red”. Zoey walks out on Chris, because he lied to her and because now he is living such a dangerous life: that endangers both Chris & the people around him.

The next day Chris is visited by the police chief (Denzel Washington) who informs Chris that there was recently a break-out at the prison, lead by Blake. Chris is being informed because the break-out happened shortly after the TV report aired, and it is believed they could be coming after Chris.

Chris instantly rushes to check on Zoey, but finds she is gone, and there are signs of a struggle. The phone rings, and it is revealed that Blake is responsible for the kidnapping, and that unless Chris is willing to use his powers “for the good of the few, not for the good of everyone” he will regret it, and the trials begin now. The only instruction, “Don’t stop it!”

Chris goes outside, and sees a bus go past at high speed, the driver apparently having lost control. Despite the warning not to stop the bus, Chris chases after the bus, and eventually manages to stop it, using all his strength (pushing the opposite direction to the bus’s direction), just before a pier, allowing the civilians to evacuate the bus, before letting it go into the sea. Chris then receives a phone call from Blake, who reveals that since Chris disobeyed him Zoey will be getting a ‘dishonourable discharge’ (a reference to Blake’s past), but Blake say’s he will be fair, and gives Chris 10 minutes to save who he loves & reveals where he is keeping Zoey.

Chris rushes to the location, and after a fight with many criminals that Blake enlisted for help, finds his way to Zoey and fights off the guards that were with her, but cannot find Blake, even after unmasking the guards (Much action here, just hard to type up a fight scene <img alt=":p" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />. During the fight with the guards Chris is injured for the first time after being shot but it does not do as much damage as it would to a normal human, and soon heals (after some suspense whether he would be ok)).

However after he saves Zoey and the pair embrace, she reveals that Blake is with Michael. We cut to Michaels house, where we see Michael on the floor injured, before hearing (but not seeing) Blake proclaim that Chris obviously doesn’t love him enough to save. The camera pans away from Michael to the case where the armoured costume was being held, which is now empty, before hearing a single gun shot.

Location- New York + A Hollywood Studio

Budget- $35’766’500 ($635’000 Cast & Crew, $20’031’500 Production & $15’100’000 Marketing)

Duration – 1 Hour 56 Minutes (116 Mins.)

Ascending Numbers Production hits the big screen with the biggest, by budget, film of the year: Code Red. Code Red is a superhero flick starring Ben Affleck, Jennifer Love Hewitt, and Joesph Fiennes, with supporting roles played by Denzel Washington, Michael Caine, and Kate Beckinsdale. Visually, the film is stunning, with Ascending Numbers getting great returns from their sizable budget.

Ben Affleck plays the titular character in this Superhero flick, who gains his powers after falling into a cave that, apparently, was once occupied by ancient Greeks. In truth, the origin aspects of this superhero story is probably the weakest part of the film's plot, as the Code Red character's start doesn't capture the sort of inherant emotionality of the origins of characters like Batman, Superman, or even Spider-Man (admittedly, getting bit by a radioactive spider is fairly lame, but the direct tie into the Uncle Ben storyline might, to some comic fans at least, make Spidey's origin story among the most compelling in history). It should be noted that the material directly around this part of the film (including the scene where Affleck and Fiennes' characters are pinned down by enemy fire) and the return to the US are both quite strong and help offset some of these issues.

Feeling betrayed by Code Red, Blake (Fiennes) leads a jail break and kidnaps Red's girlfriend (Love Hewitt). Code Red makes the obligatory save here, which is fairly standard superhero fare material (bolstered by some tension regarding the extent of Red's powers). The film ends with Blake apparently making off with a superpowered suit, which sets up an interesting sequel option for Ascending Numbers Production.

As expected, Nolan did an excellent job as the director of Code Red and worked hard to bring the various characters to life. Jennifer Love Hewitt was more than adequate in her role and Fiennes, despite being 10 years older than Affleck and somewhat hard to believe as a grunt in the field, blew his role away and was absolutely fantastic as the film's antagonist. The supporting cast was also excellent and clearly the potential sequel to this movie would be bolstered by the inclusion of as many of the actors from this film as possible.

The only real hiccup in the film's casting was Affleck, which is regrettable given his prominent role in the film. Audience members still remember Affleck playing Daredevil in 2003 and it seems like the memory of this role diminished his appeal as the main character. It seemed to surprise and slightly turn off audiences that Ascending Numbers did not go with another big name actor that was not connected to another superhero character (this reviewer wonders how the film would have panned out with Affleck's buddy, Damon in the main role and Affleck in a supporting role?). This issue, combined with a somewhat weak origin story (weak in the sense that the audience was left with the opinion that Affleck became a hero simply because he had the ability and always wanted to be one), pulled the movie back just a bit.

In the end, Code Red was a good superhero film. Probably the best superhero film this year. But it wasn't quite the film that the summer audiences are waiting for. Despite this, the film is set to make bundles and bundles of money and, given Ascending Numbers Productions large and growing resources, it's not inconceivable that they might be set to take another shot at hitting this pie in the sky this year.

Rating: 3.50 out of 5

Revenue: 56,800,000

Ascending Numbers Production now has 58,800,000.

Effects:

Christopher Nolan now wants 300,000 to direct films.

Ben Affleck now wants 100,000 to appear in films.

Jennifer Love Hewitt now wants 50,000 to appear in films.

Joseph Fiennes now wants 50,000 to appear in films.

Denzel washington requires a starring role in his next film.

The search for the first highly ranked big budget superhero film continues. This film will receive a substantial revenue boost.

Reviewer note: I made the judgment call that the effects described at the beginning were still active (I didn't change the figures above, but considered the additional production and marketing funds when calculating rating and revenue). I'd suggest that we end all effects at the end of this week and, starting next week, start listing them in the spreadsheet somewhere (just as a means of resetting and keeping track of everything).

Reviewer note 2: These values and effects need to be adjusted in the google spreadsheet. I'll PM for access so that I can just knock this off at the end of my reviews from here on out.

Ever since seeing Guida's debut, Greenwood has been bashing Clay Guida on MMA forums, saying that he stole his hair style. This has gone on for a long time until former UFC fighter Kyle Herman (Charlie Sheen, Two & a Half Men & Major League), who was forced into retirment after becoming addicted to many illegal drugs, talks Greenwood into fighting his way up to Clay Guida in the UFC. After a comedic ride up to the UFC Greenwood final gets to fight Guida in his debut with the winner needing to shave his hair. However, his trainer and cornerman Herman was not allowed to corner Herman because of a ban by UFC president Dana White (cameo as himself).

How would Greenwood be without his mentor beside him & who gets the hair shaved off? Watch the movie to fight out.

Budget- $400,000 for Lead Actor, Supporting Actor & Director & others + $200,000 for productions + $125,000 for promotion ($25,000 to UFC for promotion) = $725,000

Duration - 1 hour & 37 minutes.

KO Productions enter the market with a unique comedy offering "The Ultimate Hair Battle". The film is sure to split critical opinion, but my opinion is the studio has put out a fun, but forgettable movie. While the concept of the film would turn many customers away, the film is truely enjoyable. As long as you don't have high expectations of course.

The film centres around Trevor Greenwood (played by Russell Brand), a childhood friend of MMA & UFC star Clay Guida, who now spends large amounts of time on internet forums, bashing Guida for stealing his trademark hairstyle. The film progresses with Greenwood suprisingly entering the cage, and even more suprisingly making his way up the rankings. Greenwood's rise provides a good laugh, with Trevor seemingly winning by accident in most his fights.

Greenwood is "coached" by former MMA fighter Kyle Herman (played by Charlie Sheen). Sheen was suited to this role, as his character retired from the sport due to excessive drug use, similar to Sheen's real life troubles. However, despite Sheen being suited to the role he was given slightly too much freedom (or he couldn't be stopped, we don't know) as he slipped in several phrases that he uses in real life, refering to "Tiger Blood" and claiming he has "Adonis DNA".

The film cleverly used the UFC to help promote the film, but could have used larger spending in this department to ensure more moviegoers were aware of the film.

Overall the film was very enjoyable for what it is, a slapstick comedy film, but don't expect this movie to be talked about during awards season.

Rating : 2 Stars

Revenue : $1'350'000

Effects : The market is waiting for a successful comedy film. The first comedy film rated more than 4 stars will recieve a revenue boost.

KO Productions now has $1'625'000

How about until we get more reviewers and such that we only post one movie a week?

I just think if we keep the pace we have that we'll eventually burn everyone out.

I agree with this, gives the reviewers a break and enables the "studios" to produce a more defined film.

It depicts the events of the infamous Yorkshire Ripper. Although a relatively short movie at just over 90 minutes, the direction of Tarrantino is top notch as always. IT has a spooky type of feel to it, and even though you already know what’s going to happen, you can’t help but get goose bumps in anticipation for it. Michael Caine does a decent enough job playing the killer, although he doesn’t really have a chance to show any real character evolution. The studio used mostly real facts for their movie and even a few actual clips from the original killing. All in all it was a good film, but I wouldn’t expect it to do overly well in the box office.

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars

Revenue: 6,500,000

Spine Wood Studios now has 8,958,000

I’m not going to add any trends and the like, until everything gets sorted out with the transition.

To Be Reviewed

Two And A Half Sheens - i effin rule
