Duane Fry – Ana Garcia – Jerry Eisen

Duane:
Good evening everyone, and welcome to Supreme TV. I’m Duane Fry, and with me as always are the experienced Ana Garcia and the always-cheerful Jerry Eisen.

Jerry:
Hi!

Ana:
‘Experienced’?Anyway, good evening everyone. Tonight we have the quarter-finals of the number one contender tournament. We’ll see four matches featuring eight of the SWF’s bets wrestlers, with the winners facing off next week for a spot in the final in two weeks’ time.

Duane:
But before that let’s head to the ring for our opening contest, featuring a relative newcomer to the SWF, Brent Hill!

Jake Marlowe vs. Brent Hill

Not for the first time, the athletic Marlowe had his opponent on the back foot in the opening minutes of this match. Hill seemed thrown by the energetic offence of his opponent, whose varied background has seen him pick up bits and pieces from all over the world, mixing them into an unpredictable move set. However, Hill has already shown himself to be a master of grounding opponents, and when on the mat Marlowe found himself unable to break free of Hill’s grip, eventually falling to a King of the Hill.

Ana:
Clean, simple, effective. Hill goes three and oh in the SWF.

Duane:
And look how pleased Hannah is. What a beautiful smile.

Ana:
Aren’t you married?

Duane:
Not if Hannah doesn’t want me to be.

Winner: Brent Hill (B)

As Hannah led Hill up the ramp, Steve Frehley’s music played and the Dark Destroyer emerged from the back on his motorbike. Instead of roaring straight down to the ring, he had to wait for Hill and Hannah to pass. The seemingly-permanent scowl on his face deepened as Hill passed, and he barked at the newcomer, who looked as though he was ready to get into it. Hannah, however, stepped in and after a few seconds’ conversation with her client, Hill backed down and waved Frehley off dismissively.

Frehley’s been in a bad mood for weeks now. We know he’s expecting someone to come and help him against the Succession in the coming weeks, but apparently that’s not enough for him to cool his jets.

Duane:
Frehley needs to get his head in the game – you can’t have your mind on other things when Eric Eisen is across the ring!

Jerry:
Based on last week’s showing, Frehley might be fine anyway.

Quarter-final:
#5
Steve Frehley vs.
#4
Eric Eisen

Frehley seemed set to pick up where he’d left off against Freddy Garcia, dropping bombs on Eisen as soon as he got within range. The former World champion was rocked again and again, and seemed to be unable to escape. However, Frehley’s aggression got the better of him and when Eisen evaded a corner charge at the last second, Frehley jolted his left shoulder and arm badly, effectively halving his striking power. Eric is nothing if not opportunistic, and quickly zeroed in on the wounded limb, focusing every attack on it until Frehley was scarcely able to lift it. Eric then wrapped Frehley up in a deft inside cradle, grabbing the ropes for added leverage to hold the Dark Destroyer down for three.

Jerry:
And Eric wins – with a move that Frehley could have escaped, if his arm had been at a hundred percent.

Duane:
It can be easy to take Eric Eisen lightly, but he knows his stuff.

Jerry:
He should do. Dad paid his trainers enough.

Ana:
And it scarcely needs saying, but look at Steve Frehley – he’s furious at that result.

Winner: Eric Eisen (B)

http://i134.photobucket.com/albums/q81/jamescasey_photos/SWF/SpencerSpade.jpghttp://i134.photobucket.com/albums/q81/jamescasey_photos/SWF/RobbieRetro.jpg

In Mr Tyler’s office the rugged veteran was finishing off a phone call as Spencer Spade walked in, followed reluctantly by Robbie Retro.

Tyler
:
What?

Spade:
I want you to make a match, Mr Tyler. My team against Robbie here’s at Break Like The Wind.

Tyler stared at Spade, before looking at Retro.

Tyler
:
Retro, you agree to this?

Retro frowned.

Retro:
I just want rid of the kid, daddy-o. Everywhere I go, he’s up in my grill. Says he’s learning this, he’s learning that. Wish he’d learn to just chill out, dig?

Tyler rolled his eyes.

Tyler
:
Retro, you’ve not challenged Black, you’ve not asked for a match against Garcia, you’re out of the tournament... If you want to make the pay-per-view, Spade seems like your best bet.

Spade:
Yes!

Retro shook his head.

Retro:
I can put a team together, easy as one-two-three, but this has got to be it – the last time this guy gets to try and prove he can beat me, bro. It’s messin’ with my mojo.

Tyler
:
Whatever. Pick your teams, boys. You need three partners each, and you know the rules: Survivors win.

As Spade and Retro left, the camera cut back to ringside.

Ana:
Break Like The Wind is one of the most famous shows on the SWF calendar. Teams of four superstars compete against one another in survival matches. You might see several rivalries all concentrated in a single match, or some unusual partnerships as people look for allies. It all makes for one of the most intriguing nights of the year.

Grace Harper was walking through the corridors backstage when she was attacked from behind, sending her sprawling to the ground. Melody Cuthill stood over the downed Harper, scowling as she looked down on her victim.

http://i134.photobucket.com/albums/q81/jamescasey_photos/SWF/LaurenEaster.jpg

To one side a locker room door opened and Lauren Easter stuck her head out into the corridor. Seeing Cuthill standing over Harper, she stepped out into the corridor. She shrugged.

Easter:
Oh, why not?

She booted Harper in the gut, rolling her over and allowing Cuthill to stamp on her chest, drawing cries of pain from their victim.

Easter:
What are you doing here anyway?

Cuthill:
None of your business.

She aimed another kick at Harper, who tried weakly to shield herself.

Brazzle:
Hey!

The attackers turned to see Joanne Rodriguez and Suzanne Brazzle charging at them, and wisely made their retreat as Harper’s rescuers stopped to check on their colleague.

Duane:
Well, Melody seems to be fitting in well enough.

Ana:
Yeah, she’s a real breath of foul air.

Christian Faith vs. Swoop McCarthy

These two big men were actually pretty evenly matched, with Swoop’s abnormal speed and agility more than making up for Faith’s slight size advantage. The Australian got overconfident quickly, though, apparently forgetting Faith’s legendary endurance levels. If Rich Money had shown two weeks ago that he had surpassed the Supreme Legend, Swoop still has a away to go – as Emma Chase clearly realised. With Swoop unable to stem the tide of Faith’s revival, she climbed onto the apron and in full view of the referee brought her clipboard down on the back of Faith’s head, staggering the Iron Man and leading to the DQ.

Ana:
What is
in
that thing?

Jerry:
Whatever it is, it got Faith’s attention – and saved Swoop’s skin.

Ana:
The Aussie had a good showing, before his ego got the better of him.

Winner: Christian Faith (B+)

Swoop backed up the ramp, taking a mic from Emma as he did so.

McCarthy:
That didn’t prove anything, old man. I could take you down at any time... So let’s make a rematch for Break Like The Wind. You pick a team, I’ll pick a team, and we’ll settle it survival style.

Faith scowled, but picked up a mic as well.

Faith:
On one condition – you make sure you don’t just load up your side with your Big Money buddies. I’m not here to get caught up with other peoples’ business, not any more.

McCarthy:
Well, let’s agree to a fifty-fifty split, deal?

Faith:
Yeah, okay. I’m not just here to see how good you are, Swoop. I’m here to see if you have the toughness you need to make it in this business. Maybe with a couple of veterans around, you’ll see what it really takes to make it.

McCarthy:
Oh, I know what it really takes, mate. I’m learning from Brandon James, and there’s no-one better.

Duane:
Another match made for Break Like The Wind – Team Faith against Team Swoop!

Ana:
Mr Tyler must be enjoying this, he doesn’t have to do much of anything!

In the Succession locker room, Jay Chord and Darryl Devine were whispering to each other as Rocky Golden stalked back and forth.

Golden:
Shut up. You’re like a pair of giggling schoolgirls. So I lost last week – everyone loses the odd match. If I had Morrisette again tonight, he’d know all about it. As it is, I’ve had the time to talk to Tyler and make a mach for you, Jay.

Chord:
I know. I read the preview on the website. You’ve got me lined up against Andrews. Big who cares – I’ve beaten him before.

Golden:
I know. And tonight, you’ll have a fair chance to do it again – and me and Darryl will be back here, watching.

Devine and Chord shared a surprised look. Golden smirked.

Golden:
Nine times out of ten, I’ll beat Morrisette without any help. You, on the other hand, have needed a lot of help so far, Jay. That hasn’t gone unnoticed, so tonight I’ll keep Darryl close at hand, and you take on Andrews on your own.

Chord:
But, but...

Chord tailed off, before scowling.

Chord:
Fine. I’m Jay Chord, the choice of the new generation. Andrews may have Faith on his side, but he’s not wrestling royalty – I am. He’s going to learn that he’s just another pretender. We’re the real deal.

He stormed out of the locker room, Devine still looking surprised. Golden smirked.

Golden:
We’ll see.

Aaron Andrews vs. Jay Chord

In a renewed rivalry – and Supreme Challenge 30 rematch – these two youngsters left nothing in the locker-room. Clearly whatever enmity exists between them (and Duane mentioned something about the Mid Atlantic?) was inspiring the two. Andrews in particular was in great form, and when Chord missed a dropkick, Andrews was right there to wrap him up in an Inverted Crab for the submission win.

Duane:
Andrews looked sharp out there.

Ana:
Is that a new finisher? I know he’s been working with Faith a lot.

Duane:
I wouldn’t be surprised to see him included on Faith’s team at Break Like The Wind.

Winner: Aaron Andrews (B)

Squeeky McClean walked into Greg Black’s locker room without knocking, making Dawn shriek and dart into the shower, her towel trailing behind her. Black looked up from his book.

Black:
Can I help you?

McClean:
You’re accepting challenges, I’m issuing a challenge. I think you can work out the rest yourself?

Black put his book down.

Black:
So I should give you a title shot just like that?

Squeeky beamed.

McClean:
That’s it! After being knocked out of the tournament last week, I’ve decided to set my sights a little lower for the time being.

Black:
‘Lower’?

McClean:
That’s right.

Black:
I see. No.

Squeeky’s face fell.

McClean:
What?

Black:
No. You barge in here without knocking, you disrespect my title and me, you scare my manager... And judging by your recent record, Squeeky, you’re not near the top of my list.

McClean:
You said you were accepting challenges.

Black:
I said I was listening to challenges, but yours isn’t one I want to accept.

McClean:
Then face me at Break Like The Wind. I’ll bring a team, you bring a team, and when my team’s the survivors, you give me a title shot.

Black shrugged.

Black:
That I’ll agree to. Go find yourself some friends, and I’ll see you in a few weeks.

Duane:
I think you’re right, Ana. Mr Tyler’s go nothing to do right now. He’s probably just sitting his office, reliving the gory days.

Ana:
Don’t you mean glory days?

Duane:
Not really...

The crowd went wild as Jack Bruce’s music played and the Long Island Angel rocked out on his way down to the ring. Taking a mic, he addressed the crowd.

Bruce:
Last week Troy Tornado and I came face to face twice, and twice he avoided me, one way or another. I’m beginning to think that Tory Tornado is alone in this world, because he doesn’t want to rock when it’s Showtime!

The crowd response suggested that, yes, Tornado was in a minority of one.

Bruce:
Troy, we fought, you won, but you know as well as I do that you cheated, and that it proved nothing. You want to show that you’re the great entertainer, that you’re the one who’s going to rock these peoples’ worlds? Prove it. Face me again, and bring everything you’ve got where it counts, here in the spotlight, no tricks, just one hundred percent, undiluted, Showtime.

Bruce air-guitared for a moment, before smirking.

Bruce:
That’ll separate the pros from the band camp beginners, Troy!

Quarter-final:
#1
Jack Bruce vs.
#8
Vengeance

Where the previous match was a battle of two up-and-comers, this was a clash of two SWF veterans with a long, long history – and the fans were hot to see more. The all-action offence of Bruce seemed to make little impression on the huge Vengeance at first, with the masked fan brushing off some of the Long Island Angel’s best moves. In return, his blows were crushing and brutal, leaving Bruce staggered on several occasions. But with the fans behind him, Bruce wasn’t to be denied. He kept going forward, seemingly never contemplating retreat as fatigue began to show in his opponent’s movement, and a New York Minute was enough – just – to put Vengeance down for three.

Duane:
Wow! I didn’t think Bruce would manage it!

Ana:
Even with all his recent troubles, that was a classic performance from Jack Bruce, and next week he’ll face Eric Eisen in the semi-finals!

Jerry:
But Vengeance isn’t about to let it lie- Oh!

Winner: Jack Bruce (B+)

Bruce barely had time to rise to his feet when he was mown down by Primus, the huge newcomer. Hot on his heels were Vengeance’ Acolytes, the masked man’s fellow Heart of Darkness members. The trio put the boots to Bruce as he tried to cover up, shielding himself from the onslaught. Unfortunately for him, Vengeance reached into the morass and dragged him upright by his throat, holding him several inches off the mat as he glared at Bruce’s rapidly colouring face.

Ana:
And I think we have to assume that Primus is a part of the Heart of Darkness. No doubt Vengeance appreciated his handling of Jack Giedroyc a couple of weeks back.

Duane:
Speaking of whom...

http://i134.photobucket.com/albums/q81/jamescasey_photos/SWF/JackGiedroyc.jpg

Giedroyc appeared at the top of the ramp, flanked by Valiant and Aaron Andrews.

Giedroyc:
Put him down, Vengeance!

Marc DuBois drew a microphone from his voluminous overcoat and passed it to Vengeance, who was still holding Bruce out at arm’s length.

Vengeance:
Gladly.

Without even the slightest hint of effort Vengeance hefted Bruce up as high as he could reach, before smashing him down into the mat.

Vengeance:
Scarcely sufficient punishment for depriving me of my World title...

He glared down at Bruce, and nodded to Primus, who hauled the Long Island Angel up and smashed him back down with a short-arm clothesline.

Vengeance:
Better. Now, Giedroyc, you continue to involve yourself in my affairs-

Giedroyc:
Wherever evil dwells, I shall plunge headfirst!

Vengeance:
That only makes it easier to put you down with a Skull Krusher. Gather your forces, Giedroyc. I shall put you down in mass combat in two weeks’ time.

Giedroyc:
Your challenge is accepted, and I shall bring three men of pure heart, stout and true. Your evil will be expunged...

He paused, seemingly conflicted.

Giedroyc:
...even if your stance on eliminating the evils of hair metal apparently isn’t too far removed from my own.

Duane:
Another survival match made for Break Like The Wind – Jack Giedroyc’s team takes on the Heart of Darkness, and that should be a barnstormer!

Quarter-final:
#11
Chris Morrisette vs.
#3
Brandon James

Chris Morrisette’s desire for a title shot makes for a great story, and the fans were clearly behind him in this contest. Of course, facing the hated Brandon James would get the fans on most people’s side, but Morrisette’s gutsy performance deserved the cheers. The bestial James, like Jack Bruce before him, showed little sign of having anything but a forward gear. Against less-experienced opponents, James has been able to win through sheer power. Against the focused and well-rounded Morrisette, he was put to a lot more trouble. Although the power had Morrisette reeling at times, James seemed lost when Morrisette took him off his feet, neutralising the bigger man’s strength advantage.

It was almost enough – if James was on his own, it probably would have been enough, but Emma Chase was in the right place to hook James’ foot on the bottom rope while he was trapped in an armbar. The break bought Chase and James a few moments’ respite, and Chase delivered instructions at rapid-fire pace. James clearly heard enough, as when the match resumed he unleashed a barrage of shots to Morrisette’s shoulder, quickly taking his arm out of play and leaving him vulnerable. A short time later, the Big Money Move ended the match.

Ana:
James wins, but what a shame for Chris Morrisette.

Duane:
I’m as big a fan of Big Money as exists here in the SWF, but even I’ll admit he was in trouble there.

Ana:
Barely six months ago James brushed aside the Lobster Warrior. Tonight James was taken to the limit. I wonder what the future holds for Chris Morrisette?

Winner: Brandon James (B+)

http://i134.photobucket.com/albums/q81/jamescasey_photos/SWF/TroyTornado.jpg

Troy Tornado made his entrance ahead of the main event. He picked up a mic.

Tornado:
I admit that I was expecting that Vengeance would destroy Jack Bruce, that my... old friend would reap the whirlwind, and fall victim to the destructive power of the masked man.

Tornado:
Instead I shall have to take matters into my own hands. Next week, Jack Bruce, you will lose to Eric Eisen, no matter what I have to do to make sure of it.

Tornado:
As for another match...

Tornado:
No.

*

Duane:
And we hear that the champion is going to join us for the main event once more...

http://i134.photobucket.com/albums/q81/jamescasey_photos/SWF/RichMoney.jpg

Rich Money’s music played and the SWF champion walked down the aisle, ignoring the outstretched hands of the fans as he walked down the aisle and around the ring.

Money:
Beat it, Jerry. Remo’s backstage. Go hassle him again – he hasn’t had a match in a couple of weeks. He could use the exercise.

Jerry:
Uh, I, er...

Money:
Leave.

Jerry left the announcers’ table but, rather than head backstage he took a seat at the timekeeper’s table.

Ana:
Well, welcome Rich. It’s always good to see you.

Money:
Always a pleasure to see a future opponent up close. It’s almost as good as being in the ring with them.

Quarter-final:
#7
Angry Gilmore vs.
#3
Troy
Tornado

This was never going to be a slow match, and so it proved as both men fairly exploded out of the blocks. At times in his SWF career Troy Tornado has seemed disinterested in his matches, almost as though his opponents were beneath him – or the situation with Jack Bruce was more heavily on his mind. Whatever the cause, he was on fire tonight, and in Angry Gilmore had an opponent every bit as capable as he in mixing things up. If Tornado could be considered to have the edge as a result of his higher seed, Jessie on the outside provided counsel to her husband that seemed to balance matters. From brawling to mat work, up into the air and out on the arena floor, this was as even a contest as has been seen on Supreme TV in a very long time.

Duane:
What do you think, champ?

Money:
Gilmore’s got a great ground game. He could give me trouble, so I’d have to avoid that. Tornado’s intense, but I’d get Bruce involved somehow if needs be. There’s always a way to win, if you know where to look.

The fans were on their feet from the early going when Tornado turned a hammerlock into wristlock, and used Gilmore as a pivot to scale the ropes, walking out onto the middle of the top strand before leaping off with a missile dropkick. Gilmore was perhaps a little less flashy, but no less effective, his real forte seemingly locking Tornado down in a variety of submission holds that Tornado had to fight like a demon to escape. As a contest, it was too close to call, but for a split second of hesitation on the part of Tornado that Gilmore was quick to take advantage of, nailing an Anger Management to put Tornado down for three.

Ana:
What a match! Gilmore makes the semi-finals!

Money:
Did Tornado seem distracted at the end?

Duane:
If he was, it’s no wonder – look out in the crowd!

Winner: Angry Gilmore (A)

He crouched over Tornado, who was just coming to, and started jawing at him.

Ana:
Bruce must really hate Tornado to come after him after taking that beating from Vengeance.

Money:
Maybe, but notice that he’s come after Tornado when Gilmore’s already beat him.

Standing up, Bruce reached down to drag Tornado up, but instead Gilmore grabbed him by the hair and pulled him upright, turning him around to bring the two men face to face.

Duane:
Gilmore looks furious.

Ana:
He doesn’t like interference in his matches – we’ve seen this in the past with him and Bruce.

Gilmore yelled at Bruce, before shoving the Long Island Angel. Bruce shoved back, and Gilmore scowled, half turned away.

Money:
Well now, what is it Gilmore always says?

Gilmore swung around, decking Bruce with a right hook. Bruce spun around, to find Tornado behind him.

Duane:
Star Maker!

Tornado and Gilmore stood over Bruce. Slowly they looked up at one another, their eyes meeting.

Ana:
Tornado must be furious about losing his shot. Is he going to take it out on Gilmore?

http://i134.photobucket.com/albums/q81/jamescasey_photos/SWF/Jessie.jpg

Jessie slid into the ring, taking her husband’s side. He glanced at her, and nodded, before standing aside and waving Tornado past. Tornado nodded once, before stepping over Tornado and out of the ring.

Money:
Ceasefire. They both have other things on their mind... and Gilmore has his game together. Interesting...

As Tornado left, Bruce stirred. Gilmore looked down at him, an expression of annoyance fleetingly crossing his features, before pulling him to his feet. Bruce looked at him in confusion, but accepted the help.

Duane:
What on earth is going to happen next? Tune in next week for the semi-finals!

Supreme Wrestling Federation presents: Uprising

Wednesday, 24th October 2010

Christian Faith opened the show by announcing his opponent for the night – newcomer Antonio Maxi Marquez would be debuting against the Supreme Legend!

• Eric Eisen put his Billion Dollar Belt on the line against Adam Matravers, coming out on top with a Supremacy (C-)

Eisen once more knocked Faith, saying that the only thing younger workers were good for was collecting paychecks after being beaten up

• Squeeky McClean strengthened his calls for a North American title shot with a win over Eddie Cornell following a Stain Removal ©

• Primus then made another decisive showing, pinning local competitor Mark Smart in less than three minutes (F)

• The Samoan Wildboyz picked up a second straight win, this time beating Northern Exposure after more interference from Wall of Muscle. Where the Canadians had been on two points, it’s now the Samoans who have that score (B-, 2pts)

Swoop McCarthy then bragged about how difficult it would be for anyone to take the tag titles from himself and Runaway Train

• Bart Biggz and Robbie Retro clashed next, with the bigger Retro overwhelming Biggz with sheer power to take the win (B-)

• Wall of Muscle were absent from the next tag match, in which the California Fly Boys defeated the Huntingdon Estate when James Prudence forced Paul Huntingdon to submit (B-, 1pt)

Before the next match, Squeeky McClean demanded to know if Greg Black was willing to grant him a North American title match yet. Black said he was still thinking about it – he had a
lot
of offers to consider

• Six-man action pitted Black and CCX against Jay Chord and the Wall of Muscle, who didn’t seem to get on. Chord may have hoped he could rely on his allies, but they made no effort to save him from a Fade to Black, with Swoop in particular seemingly entranced by his title belt (B-)

New York veteran Steve Flash made a surprise appearance, declaring that if Christian Faith was going to be spending time knocking respect into ‘the kids’, Flash couldn’t miss the opportunity either. After all, the company shared his initials – Steve ‘Wrestling’ Flash had been his name since he first stepped into the ring, and he intended to show that he was still better at it than any snot-nosed punk...

• Cyclonus is no snot-nosed punk, and gave Flash a run for his money, but the wiley veteran knows how to bend the rules to their breaking point and no further, which he used to set the masked man up for a Flash Bang to score a debut win ©

• Eight-person action followed, with Marlowe, Brazzle, Rodriguez and Laramee having a wild brawl against Parker, Cuthill, Easter and Spade. Once the referee managed to instil some order, the experienced Marlowe took Spade down with a Jungle Jack-Jammer for the win (C+)

• In the main event, Antonio Marquez went all-out against the Supreme Legend, earning a lot of respect from the watching fans as he came close to a win on a number of occasions. Although Faith rallied to claim the victory with a Test of Faith, he was clearly impressed with his young opponent (B)

Overall: B-

SWF Supreme TV Preview

It’s Final Four time this week on Supreme TV. As the #1 contender tournament reaches the semi-final stage, we’ll see two Supreme Challenge rematches as Angry Gilmore takes on the ferocious Brandon James, and the Long Island Angel Jack Bruce clashes with his perennial rival Eric Eisen. The winners will meet up in a week’s time to see who’ll face World champion Rich Money at Break Like The Wind.

Also on the show, we’ll see a preview of one of the eight-man tag matches due to take place at Break Like The Wind. Gregory Black will team with the young Brit Adam Matravers against Squeeky McClean and his survival team-mate Freddy Garcia, in what’s sure to be a intriguing clash.

Christian Faith is also due to take on an upcoming opponent – the up-and-coming Steven Parker has been nominated by Big Money’s Swoop McCarthy as a member of his four-man survival team for the big show.

Swoop, meanwhile, will also be in action, taking on the unpredictable Jake Marlowe. Swoop had impressed in tag matches since his debut earlier this year, and there will be many who’ll want to use this rare singles match for the Down Under Superstar to see what kind of potential he may have – and doubtless Faith will be among them.

Also on the show, Runaway Train is scheduled to compete, while Brent Hill will be in action against Valiant, with the King of the Hill looking to extend his impressive start in the SWF.

Be sure to tune into CBA this Tuesday night to catch the latest Supreme action!

Semi-final: #1 Jack Bruce vs. #4 Eric Eisen

I could see Tornado costing this one to Bruce but Bruce vs. James seems more interesting match to me than Eisen vs. Gilmore.

Semi-final: #10 Angry Gilmore vs. #3 Brandon James

Like I said James vs. Bruce just seems like better idea to me.

Christian Faith vs. Steven Parker

Parker looks good but loses.

Valiant vs. Brent Hill

Hill has been doing rather well so far and I believe that will continue here.

Jake Marlowe vs. Swoop McCarthy

Could go either way but Swoop seems to have more going on.

Gregory Black and Adam Matravers vs. Squeeky McClean and Frederique Garcia

Not sure how over Matravers are in USA but he looks like the weak link here.

Supreme Wrestling Federation presents: Supreme TV

Tuesday, 2nd November 2010

Your announcers:

Duane Fry – Ana Garcia – Jerry Eisen

The show opened with a static shot of the parking garage outside the arena.

Duane:
Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to Supreme TV. I’m your host Duane Fry, with me as always the perceptive Ana Garcia and the always entertaining Jerry Eisen.

Ana:
A pleasure as always, Duane.

Jerry:
You almost sounded like you meant that, Ana!

We’ll bring you into the arena in a moment, but we’ve just received word that the World champion, Rich Money, is arriving at the arena...

<!--[if gte mso 9]><xml> <w:WordDocument> <w:View>Normal</w:View> <w:Zoom>0</w:Zoom> <w:Compatibility> <w:BreakWrappedTables/> <w:SnapToGridInCell/> <w:ApplyBreakingRules/> <w:WrapTextWithPunct/> <w:UseAsianBreakRules/> <w:UseFELayout/> </w:Compatibility> <w:BrowserLevel>MicrosoftInternetExplorer4</w:BrowserLevel> </w:WordDocument> </xml><![endif]--><!--[if gte mso 10]> <style> /* Style Definitions */ table.MsoNormalTable {mso-style-name:"Table Normal"; mso-tstyle-rowband-size:0; mso-tstyle-colband-size:0; mso-style-noshow:yes; mso-style-parent:""; mso-padding-alt:0cm 5.4pt 0cm 5.4pt; mso-para-margin:0cm; mso-para-margin-bottom:.0001pt; mso-pagination:widow-orphan; font-size:10.0pt; font-family:"Times New Roman"; mso-fareast-font-family:"Times New Roman";} </style> <![endif]-->

On-screen a brand-new Aston Martin pulled into the garage, slowing to a halt just by the camera. As the engine shut off, Rich Money climbed out, glancing around the garage, before pulling out his bag and his SWF World title and heading into the arena.

Duane:
Tonight we’ll be down to two. You know that Rich Money will be watching closely.

Gregory Black and Adam Matravers vs. Squeeky McClean and Frederique Garcia

Black clearly wasn’t in the mood to start the show off slowly in this match. He raced between his two opponents, not letting them decide between themselves who’d start the match as he alternated between dropping them with punches, kicks and a pair of beautiful leaping clotheslines that saw Black get huge air from standing starts. However, when the referee restored order, Matravers tagged in and wasn’t able to keep the momentum going. As the match tipped away from Black’s side, a slip by Garcia allowed Matravers to make the tag, before rolling out of the ring. Black exploded into the match once more, only to be brought up short by the referee, who’d missed the tag. As Black remonstrated with the official, someone leapt over the guard rail and booted Matravers in the head. The newcomer rolled his victim into the ring, where Squeeky made the cover for the win, before joining Garcia and McClean in celebration.

Ana:
What? Who is that?

Jerry:
That’s Antonio Maxi Marquez...

http://i134.photobucket.com/albums/q81/jamescasey_photos/SWF/AntonioMaxiMarquez.jpg

Jerry:
...he took on Christian Faith on Uprising last week! It looks like he’s joined forces with Garcia and McClean ahead of Break Like The Wind!

Ana:
That’s sickening. How can McClean celebrate a win like that?

Duane:
A win is a win is a win, Ana.

Winners: McClean and Garcia (B-)

http://i134.photobucket.com/albums/q81/jamescasey_photos/SWF/AaronAndrews.jpghttp://i134.photobucket.com/albums/q81/jamescasey_photos/SWF/ChristianFaith.jpg

Aaron Andrews was working out in the small gym backstage when Christian Faith walked up.

Faith:
Working on your triceps?

Andrews:
Yeah. Chord nearly broke out of the submission last week. I’m not as strong as you.

He grinned as he set the dumbbell down on the rack.

Andrews:
It’s still a good hold, though. I’m surprised you don’t use it more.

Faith shook his head.

Faith:
I’m too tall. Sam Keith caught me with it a few times, but to get the torque on it, it helps if you’re the same size, or shorter, than the other guy. With me it works the neck, not the back.

Andrews nodded thoughtfully.

Faith:
Actually, I had a favour I wanted to ask.

Andrews:
After all you’ve done for me? Name it.

Faith smiled.

Faith:
I need to put a team together for Break Like The Wind. Swoop’s already got Steven Parker, I’m sure he’ll have Train as well, and maybe Brandon James if he doesn’t make the World title match. Would you want to join my side?

Andrews:
Anytime, Christian...

Andrews looked a little uncertain.

Faith:
Problem?

Andrews:
I know Jack’s looking for a team to take on Vengeance. I thought he might ask me, but he hasn’t yet... He’ll be fine. Who else do you want on the team?

Faith:
Well, I wanted to ask you about that. I have an idea for the third man, but I need another youngster...

They walked off, deep in conversation.

Jerry:
Faith’s taken Andrews under his wing since he arrived in the SWF. It’s no surprise to see the two of them teaming up.

Ana:
Andrews is a hot commodity. Don’t be surprised to see him with more gold around his waist in the near future.

Valiant vs. Brent Hill

Valiant fought hard in this match, doing everything he could to avoid being taken to the mat by the master technician. Hill seemed impressed with the younger man, offering a brief round of applause at one point that seemed genuine. As the match wore on, however, Valiant found himself stymied time and again, struggling to make much of an impact on his more-experienced foe, and eventually being snatched up in a King of the Hill.

Ana:
Valiant fought hard, but Hill had the edge tonight.

Duane:
Hill’s the real deal.

Winner: Brent Hill (B-)

With Valiant struggling to his feet, probably the last thing he wanted to hear was Vengeance’ music playing, nor would he have wanted to look around him and see Vengeance, Marc DuBois, John Greed or Primus making their way through the crowds and scaling the guard rail to enter the ring, surround him. Unfortunately for Valiant, that’s what happened.

Duane:
Oh boy... Run if you can, Valiant.

Ana:
It’s just not in his nature... Unfortunately.

Valiant squared up to Vengeance, trying to keep an eye on him and his allies, but it was impossible to see all four at the same time, and a dart forward from DuBois left him open for Vengeance, who ploughed him into the mat with a chokeslam. The masked man placed one huge foot on Valiant’s chest, and took a microphone from DuBois.

Vengeance:
Four against... How many, Giedroyc? Your friend Aaron Andrews has run off to play lapdog to Christian Faith. Valiant...

He ground down on his victim’s chest with the heel of his boot.

Vengeance:
...may not recover in time. Who would dare to cross us? Who would want to risk the anger of the Heart of Darkness?

http://i134.photobucket.com/albums/q81/jamescasey_photos/SWF/JackGiedroyc.jpg

Giedroyc appeared at the top of the ramp. He looked torn, clearly wanting to charge the ring and rescue his friend, but equally knowing that the odds were heavily against him.

Giedroyc:
Fighting evil, one is never short of volunteers, masked man. Enough people know your true measure, they know that behind that mask of yours is a man who can’t meet his own reflection in a mirror. Is it shame, Vengeance? Is it self-loathing? Is it acne scars?

Vengeance snarled, and gestured Primus forward. Stepping back, he allowed the huge newcomer to drag Valiant upright.

Vengeance:
Primus. You remember him, Giedroyc, I’m sure. I admired his way of dealing with things. He is strong, he is quick, he is a seething cauldron of hatred and anger. He is... the perfect student.

Vengeance nodded, and Primus brutalised Valiant with a short-arm clothesline.

Vengeance:
Arrive alone in nine nights’ time... Surrender to us... And we will make it short and relatively painless... You intrigue me, Giedroyc, and I think you would make a fine follower...

Giedroyc:
Never, Vengeance. I am not for you, I am against you!

Vengeance:
You are a fool...

At Vengeance’ signal his followers left the ring. Vengeance followed, stepping onto and over Valiant on the way. Only when all four men had gone did Giedroyc race down to the ring, a team of trainers on his heels.

Ana:
Valiant doesn’t look great right now...

Duane:
First Hill, then Vengeance, and then that brute Primus... I wouldn’t be surprised if Giedroyc really
does
show up alone next Thursday – what choice will he have?

Backstage, Jake Marlowe was shown talking with Christian Faith and Aaron Andrews. After a few moments, he shook hands with both men, Faith clapping him on the shoulder.

Duane:
Team member three, I guess.

Faith and Andrews walked off. Marlowe turned to walk away but pulled up short as he found Emma Chase in the way.

Chase:
Mr Marlowe, if I haven’t missed my guess then you’ve just accepted an offer to be a part of Christian Faith’s team at Break Like The Wind. In that case, my client Swoop McCarthy would like to make you a challenge for a match, right now. It’ll give you the chance to scout each other out ahead of your match next week. My client is keen, do you accept?

Marlowe raised an eyebrow, and looked Emma up and down.

Marlowe:
I’m... sure this must be a trap, but I’ll say yes anyway. Let your client know I’ll be watching out for tricks and, after all...

He gestured in Faith and Andrews’ direction of departure.

Marlowe:
...I have people watching my back.

Jake Marlowe vs. Swoop McCarthy

Marlowe was a house afire in the opening exchanges, bombarding the mouthy Australian with a series of elbow strikes from all angles, a fighting style that Fry dubbed ‘three-sixty assault’. It left Swoop reeling, and only a timely distraction by Chase on the referee gave him the chance to recover, thumbing Marlowe in the eye. Swoop tried to take control, but the awkwardness of Marlowe never really let him get into his stride, and eventually he simply gave up, grabbing Chase’s clipboard and smashing Marlowe in the face with it to draw the DQ.

Ana:
What a rotten piece of cheating by McCarthy.

Duane:
I know! He got caught!

Ana:
That wasn’t what I-

Duane:
Swoop lives to fight another day, but he’s clearly not happy about losing tonight.

Ana:
Then he should rethink his tactics. That’s twice in as many weeks!

Winner: Jake Marlowe (B)

In the locker room, Steve Frehley and Chris Morrisette were chatting over a cup of coffee when Jack Bruce walked in.

Bruce:
Hey, remember that time I scored those tickets to
Maiden
for you guys? I kinda need a favour tonight. Troy’s said he’s going to get involved in my match tonight, and while the Greensboro Gold Getter can fight Eric Eisen on an even pitch, I admit that even I need a little help when I might have the whole of the Succession bearing down on me.

Frehley nodded.

Frehley:
You had me at ‘Succession’.

Morrisette nodded too.

Morrisette:
Sure. No reason for anyone to get screwed out of their rightful chance.

Bruce:
Good. Steve, you keep an eye out for any kind of run-in, interference, shenanigans, no-good-niks or ne’er-do-wells, and Chris you watch out for wandering vagabonds, scallywags, rogues, mercenaries, or hired guns.

Frehley and Morrisette exchanged glances.

Morrisette:
Are... you feeling alright?

Bruce:
It’s the gold, Chris. I can almost taste it... I can almost feel it... It gets my blood pumping and my mouth moving.

Frehley:
Yeah, okay... We’ll keep an eye out for Succession, and crack some skulls if they get any ideas. You... Well, you just crack Eisen’s skull.

The trio left the locker room together.

Duane:
Bruce is losing it. Not that he ever had much of a tight hold on it to start off with...

Jerry:
He’s getting funky like a monkey, Duane. It’s nearly Showtime!

Ana:
Didn’t you have something you wanted to show us first, Jerry?

Jerry:
Oh... yeah. Well, my camera crew was backstage earlier-

Duane:
You have a camera crew? What do they do, just follow you around all day?

Jerry:
I’m an interesting guy, Duane. The networks have offered me a lot of money.

Duane:
To keep those tapes away from them, I bet.

Ana:
Guys...

Jerry:
Sorry, Ana. Anyway, my camera crew got some footage that I wanted to show you...

http://i134.photobucket.com/albums/q81/jamescasey_photos/SWF/RichMoney.jpghttp://i134.photobucket.com/albums/q81/jamescasey_photos/SWF/Remo.jpg

On the Supremescreen footage rolled of Rich Money deep in conversation backstage. The person he was talking to was somewhat surprising – Remo.

Duane:
Well... Remo and Money talking? And? They’re best friends.

Jerry:
Just wait.

The camera moved in slightly closer, and now Money and Remo’s words could be heard.

Money:
...they’ll be ready next week?

Remo:
That’s what they say. If not, they know what’s coming.

Money nodded thoughtfully.

Money:
Do you trust them?

Remo:
Rich, I only started trusting you last year.

Money grinned.

Money:
That soon? Going soft?

The two men laughed. They stood up, and Money extended his hand. The two shook.

Money:
Good luck. I’ll be watching, and any time you need a hand...

Remo nodded. Without another word he turned and walked away. Money glanced up and caught sight of the camera. Frowning, he walked off.

Duane:
And?

Jerry:
Remo’s been plotting for weeks – watching matches, scheming in his bar... Next week we find out what’s going on! And am I the only one who thinks it’s weird that Money and Remo are still so tight?

Ana:
Oddly enough... No. I must admit, when Money and Remo fought at Supreme Challenge, I expected that to be it for their friendship, and when they had to fight again a few weeks back, I was sure they’d go all out... From what you’ve shown us there, Jerry, it seems they’re still good friends, behind the scenes at least.

Duane:
Well, we’ll find out what that’s all about next week. And Jerry?

Jerry:
Yeah?

Duane:
Time to give up your seat.

Jerry:
What? I-

Rich Money’s music began to play and the World champion appeared at the top of the ramp. He walked down to the announcers’ table and stood in front of Jerry, glaring down at him until Jerry meekly removed his headset and took a seat at the timekeeper’s table.

Ana:
Rich Money, it’s always a pleasure.

Duane:
And how are you enjoying having some time off?

Money:
I’m having a great time. I’ve been at movie premieres, I’ve been at the races and I’ve been treating myself to a month of spa days and massages. And I love that whoever I face next week has to go through four hard matches just for the honour of stepping in the ring with me. I think it should be made into a rule all year ‘round.
That
would be money.

Semi-final:
#1
Jack Bruce vs.
#4
Eric Eisen

Bruce made his entrance with Chris Morrisette and Steve Frehley guarding his back. Eisen entered alone, but before the introductions were complete Rocky Golden, Jay Chord and Darryl Devine ambled down the aisle, stopping short of Bruce’s friends but occupying their whole attention.

Duane:
Advantage Eisen.

Money:
I agree. Bruce can’t help but be distracted by the presence of so many people.

Despite the outside distractions, this is a match that never fails to get the fans going, and it’s hard to imagine two wrestlers more diametrically opposed than the rock star Jack Bruce and the wealthy Eric Eisen. The two may have moved on from their rivalry earlier in the year, but it’s clear that they haven’t forgotten, and neither have the fans, who cheered Bruce lustily, and jeered Eisen equally as loudly. While Bruce fed on the fans’ support, Eisen seemed to be completely ignoring the crowd, and if anything was wrestling well within himself, letting Bruce take control of much of the match. His reasoning became clear when he began complaining loudly of a leg injury, however. As the referee forced a timeout, Troy Tornado vaulted a crowd barrier and slid into the ring behind Bruce’s back.

http://i134.photobucket.com/albums/q81/jamescasey_photos/SWF/TroyTornado.jpg

Before Frehley and Morrisette could react to the intrusion, which had occurred on the far side of the ring from them, Tornado smashed Bruce across the shoulders with a baseball bat. Bruce dropped to his knees in agony as Eric staged a miraculous recovery. With Tornado out of the ring, Eisen nailed the Supremacy to score the win.

Ana:
No!

Money:
Troy Tornado is a man of his word. He said Bruce wouldn’t make it through, and he didn’t. Interesting...

Duane:
Champ, you could be facing Eric Eisen again in nine nights’ time. How do you feel?

Money:
I’ll be honest with you, I’d sooner Eric than Bruce. He has that bad leg, which is an easy target... but before I give away something I shouldn’t, if you’ll excuse me...

Winner: Eric Eisen (B)

Money left the announcers’ table and walked past the six men who were entering – or, in Tornado’s case re-entering – the ring. The Succession members had Morrisette and Frehley at a disadvantage as Bruce struggled to recover from the beating he’d taken, and Eric Eisen near-sprinted away from the brawl that had broken out. As he crested the top of the ramp and dashed backstage, he passed Mr Tyler, who had come out with a microphone in hand and a face like thunder.

Mr Tyler:
Enough! The next person who throws a punch, a kick or even an insult about someone’s mom gets fired so fast I’ll have to e-mail their pink slip to ----ing California for them to pick up.

Mr Tyler:
Now, I’ve never been one to object to good, old-fashioned violence, but let’s have some sense about it. The seven of you are barred from laying hands on one another until Break Like The Wind. If you’re fighting, let’s make people pay for it. Bruce, Frehley and Morrisette against the Succession in an eight-man survival match.

The seven men glared at their foes.

Mr Tyler:
Bruce, you’re a man short. I assume you can find someone in time?

It was Frehley who answered – a short, but emphatic nod.

Mr Tyler:
Good. Now get out of the ring and let’s get on with the show.

Eric Eisen was whooping it up backstage, Lauren Easter in tow along with a crowd of hangers-on as he handed around the champagne glasses. The Billion Dollar Belt was fastened around his waist, and he kept stroking it.

Eisen:
This is how you celebrate. Big Money is small change compared to me. As for Angry Gilmore... Hah. He need’s his woman to tell him what to do – what kind of threat is that supposed to make him?

Easter laughed, and Eisen stopped pouring champagne to smirk at her.

Eisen:
World champion and Vixxens champion, united in dominating the SWF. Sounds good, doesn’t it?

He stroked the Belt again.

Eisen:
As much as I love this, it’ll feel good to have the World title back around my waist... Maybe I’ll donate this to the Smithsonian as the centrepiece of an exhibit to my greatness...

He resumed pouring, but stopped as he came face-to-chest with someone wearing a suit every bit as expensive as those Eisen normally wears – maybe more so. He looked up to find Rich Money staring back at him. The World champion raised his glass in salute and took a sip.

Money:
Not bad. You’ll have to let me have your supplier, Eric. After all, there won’t be anything much for
you
to celebrate next week.

Money knocked back the rest of the glass and walked off, leaving Eisen glowering in his wake.

Duane:
The champ makes his presence felt.

Jerry:
I think he crashed Eric’s party.

http://i134.photobucket.com/albums/q81/jamescasey_photos/SWF/SwoopMcCarthy.jpg

Swoop McCarthy strutted down to the ring, looking supremely confident with his tag title belt around his waist, clashing somewhat with his glam street clothes.

McCarthy:
G’day – again. Now, don’t get too excited, you don’t get a double dose of the Down Under Superstar in the ring tonight, I’m just here to introduce my fellow rookie in the Big Money survivor team for Break Like The Wind... Steven Parker!

<!--[if gte mso 9]><xml> <w:WordDocument> <w:View>Normal</w:View> <w:Zoom>0</w:Zoom> <w:Compatibility> <w:BreakWrappedTables/> <w:SnapToGridInCell/> <w:ApplyBreakingRules/> <w:WrapTextWithPunct/> <w:UseAsianBreakRules/> <w:UseFELayout/> </w:Compatibility> <w:BrowserLevel>MicrosoftInternetExplorer4</w:BrowserLevel> </w:WordDocument> </xml><![endif]--><!--[if gte mso 10]> <style> /* Style Definitions */ table.MsoNormalTable {mso-style-name:"Table Normal"; mso-tstyle-rowband-size:0; mso-tstyle-colband-size:0; mso-style-noshow:yes; mso-style-parent:""; mso-padding-alt:0cm 5.4pt 0cm 5.4pt; mso-para-margin:0cm; mso-para-margin-bottom:.0001pt; mso-pagination:widow-orphan; font-size:10.0pt; font-family:"Times New Roman"; mso-fareast-font-family:"Times New Roman";} </style> <![endif]-->

As Parker appeared at the top of the ramp and made his way tentatively down to the ring, Ana seemed surprised.

Ana:
Parker? With Big Money’s resources I would have expected someone a little more... impressive. I’m surprised they didn’t try and get Antonio Maxi Marquez.

Duane:
Now, Ana, Parker could surprise you.

Ana:
Do you really think so?

Duane:
Well... no...

Parker took the mic, but looked unhappy about it.

Parker:
Why me? What did I do? I was just minding my own business... and now I have to fight Christian Faith? What am I supposed to do with that? You think I don’t have a plan of my own? I didn’t want to fight Faith this soon. I figured in a couple of years he’d be a broken down heap but he’d still have some name value so I could get into it with him then! Where’s the sense in me fighting him now?!?

Swoop laughed as he took the mic from Parker.

McCarthy:
It’s all just show, folks. Really, Parker here is a beast just waiting to be unleashed – the future of the business, almost as much as Swoop himself! No, this kid here is the key to victory for Big Money in the survival match, and he’ll show you that tonight!

Christian Faith vs. Steven Parker

The fans didn’t seem to expect much from Steven Parker in this match, no doubt resulting from his uninspiring speech and his lack of name recognition. However, he seemed to realise that he had nothing to lose once the bell rang, and fought as hard as anyone on the show against the Supreme Legend. At one point he even managed to trap Faith in position for his trademark Future Shock, but Faith was able to power out. From there, Parker was on the back foot and a short time later Faith landed the Leap of Faith to take the win.

Winner: Christian Faith (B+)

Outside the ring, Swoop shrugged, clearly not that bothered by the result. He walked up the ramp, leaving Parker in the ring, and was about to disappear backstage when he stopped short before backpedalling quickly.

Following in Swoop’s wake was Mr Tyler, a microphone in one hand, a baseball bat wrapped in barbed wire in the other.

Duane:
What the...

Mr Tyler:
Nice try.

Mr Tyler:
I suppose I shouldn’t blame you, Swoop. You see, I feel like I haven’t made myself clear enough.

He swung the bat idly, the sharpened steel barbs glinting in the light.

Mr Tyler:
In this company, we fight. We don’t walk out on matches. We don’t use substitutes. We don’t send kids fresh out of the indies up against one of the best this business has ever seen.

He scowled, and pointed the bat at Swoop.

Mr Tyler:
You’re a hell of a talent, kid. I know we’d have done great things together in Philly, if things had gone differently. Night after night, you’d have gone up against some of the meanest sonsa b---hes to ever lace up a pair of boots, and you know what? I think you’d have excelled.

Mr Tyler:
Now, ‘round here we don’t use stuff like this... often.

He tossed the bat to one side.

Mr Tyler:
What we do, though, is fight. Now, we told the fans that you’d be here, and you’d be fighting tonight. The way I figure it, you’ve shown up, but you didn’t do much fighting against Marlowe. I’d almost think that you wanted the week off, and you know what? I understand that. I wore gold a few times over the years. I understand the pressure of being a champion. But any day I got off, I had to earn.

Mr Tyler:
Now, back in the day I’d have gone in the ring against someone like Chris Morrisette or your buddy Brandon James to prove I deserved time off. I knew it’d be a hell of a fight, but no-one could deny I deserved it afterwards. Well, I wanted to check to see how they did things here in the SWF, so I talked to man who knows the company inside and out.

He pointed to the ring, where Christian Faith stood, leaning on the top rope, taking the scene in.

Mr Tyler:
And he suggested that you have a tag match tonight. You and Train... against these guys.

Behind Tyler Steve Frehley and Aaron Andrews walked out onto the stage.

Mr Tyler:
Get through these guys, pick up a win, and you can skip next week’s show, take the week off you want. If you don’t, then you’ll be fighting every week until you learn some respect. You’re a champion. Act like it.

Tyler walked backstage as Swoop once again backed away, this time because Andrews and Frehley were walking towards him, forcing him down the ramp.

Duane:
How is that fair – Swoop and Train have had no time to prepare!

Ana:
Maybe not, but at least their titles aren’t on the line. And you have to admit, this is a great bonus match we’ve been given by Mr Tyler.

Duane:
I hate to say it, but... This should be a barnstormer!

Steve Frehley and Aaron Andrews vs. Wall of Muscle

This was a massacre. Neither Train nor Swoop was prepared to fight, and Swoop’s party clothes seemed to prevent him putting up his best fight. Frehley seemed to take particular delight in bouncing the young Australian around, apparently venting his recent frustrations on McCarthy.

Train eventually grabbed his young partner and hauled him out of the ring. He dragged him up the aisle, Swoop looking half-loopy from the beating he’d taken.

Ana:
You know, I don’t mind seeing Swoop bailing so much this time...

Duane:
Tyler overstepped his bounds! What gives him the right to make Swoop wrestle twice in a night?

Ana:
He’s the man in charge... and by my reckoning, Swoop’s just about wrestled one whole match tonight.

Winners: Frehley and Andrews (C+)

http://i134.photobucket.com/albums/q81/jamescasey_photos/SWF/BrandonJames.jpghttp://i134.photobucket.com/albums/q81/jamescasey_photos/SWF/AngryGilmore.jpg

With both Brandon James and Angry Gilmore in the ring the match was ready to begin, but James took a mic from Emma Chase and tossed a smirk in Gilmore’s direction.

James:
Three months ago, you beat me. Clean. In the middle of the ring.

James:
It happened. I won’t deny it – recognising my failures and resolving the errors that led to them makes me stronger, more dominant... And dominant is what I have been so far. Robbie Retro is big, he’s strong, and he’s young enough to have the stamina to last a long time, but he fell before me.

James:
Chris Morrisette is a veteran, with more than a decade’s experience taking on a premium selection of the toughest opponents in the business. There is little he doesn’t know, still less that he hasn’t seen. He should not be underestimated, but I know that he is. He spent too long in that ridiculous outfit... but now he is an opponent to be respected, even feared for his prowess and experience. A victory over him is one to be savoured. My victory over him last week made me the undisputed favourite for the rest of the tournament. I am the strongest, I am the most intelligent, I am the most vicious... I am the next SWF World champion.

James looked supremely confident – until Gilmore snatched the microphone from his hand.

Gilmore:
I agree with you on a lot of the points you made. Robbie is a great talent, and the more experience he gets, the harder it’ll be to beat him. Chris is an outstanding fighter, and deserves the title shot as much as anyone. You’re right not to underestimate him...

Gilmore:
...which makes me wonder why the hell you’re underestimating me? I beat Troy Tornado. I beat Runaway Train. I’ve taken my chances, and I’m here before you, and as you say yourself, I beat you last time we fought.

Gilmore:
Confidence is good – you’ll get nowhere in this business without believing in yourself. But there’s a point when confidence becomes arrogance, and the extent of your belief crosses that line and keeps on going. You have this absolute faith that you can outthink and outmuscle anyone you come across... but the two people who’ve beaten you this year stand between you and the World title, and that’s not even touching on Eric Eisen next week.

He smiled.

Gilmore:
Confidence is good, Brandon, but everyone has faults, and yours has always been over-confidence. Mine was always my temper, but I’ve pretty much got a hold on it nowadays – I think. So I believe I can beat you, Brandon. Again. And that’s because you don’t think I can. Learning from your mistakes is a good idea. Planning well enough that you can adapt to your mistakes before they cost you... That’s an even better idea.

Gilmore:
I’m not saying you won’t win tonight. You might do... but I’m not going to make it easy for you. I will give you a hint, though: Make me angry. You won’t like me when I’m not angry.

With a smirk of his own he tossed the mic out of the ring to Jessie, who caught it and smiled at her husband.

Duane:
Fighting words from both men there. This was a great match at Supreme Challenge, and should be a great match tonight!

Jerry:
‘Make me angry...’ Huh. I guess I’ve had it wrong all this time.

Semi-final:
#10
Angry Gilmore vs.
#3
Brandon James

As much as anything, this match showed that both men have come some distance from their Supreme Challenge clash. Then, James had been the odds-on favourite. Now, Gilmore’s good form had closed the gap considerably. Although James’ was still regarded as the stronger of the two competitors, and had clearly improved, Gilmore seemed much more focused and much more confident.

A telling moment that seemed to encapsulate the match came when Gilmore leapfrogged over the charging James a few minutes in. James smartly applied the brakes, avoiding a hard collision with the turnbuckles. Spinning in place, he launched himself at Gilmore, only for the Canadian to meet him with a dropkick that caught him flush in the face, snapping James’ head back.

The crowd were on their feet almost from the first minute of the contest, with both men taking control at points, but seemingly unable to hold onto that control, James’ strength and ferocity neutralising Gilmore’s skill and technique – and vice versa. As the clock passed the twenty minute mark, it was either man’s contest, but then Brandon James lashed out with the Big Money Move almost from nowhere.

Ana:
It’s over! Gilmore is out!

Duane:
No! James is down, Gilmore covers!

Jerry:
He reversed it! Gilmore reversed the Big Money Move into an Anger Management!

The referee’s hand slapped the mat three times, and Gilmore had the win.

Ana:
Somehow, incredibly, Gilmore reversed it – I’ve never seen that before!

Jerry:
320 pounds of Big Money, and Gilmore countered it! I don’t know how, but Gilmore just turned Brandon James own size and momentum against himself.

Duane:
No fluke, no outside interference, Gilmore stakes his claim to be taken seriously... He’s in the final!

Winner: Angry Gilmore (A)

Jerry:
Oh boy...

Money made no effort to approach the ring. Gilmore, too, remained where he was, side-by-side with Jessie, her hand clasped in his.

Money reached up slowly, lifting the World title off his shoulder and raising it over his head in a grand, exaggerated fashion.

Jerry:
That’s what it’s all about. Money has the belt, and something tells me he’s not ready to give it up anytime soon.

Ana:
He’s not really done anything, but the presence of Rich Money looms large over the SWF tonight...

OOC: Not entirely sure that the last couple of posts have displayed properly. If you missed it, Supreme TV is in post #90 (on page 6 in the default thread view.)

The next post should be from our new house... after eighteen months waiting. I'll believe it when I have the keys in my hand and not before.

Supreme Wrestling Federation presents: Uprising

Wednesday, 3rd November 2010

• In the night’s opener, Eddie Cornell continued to challenge the established SWF stars, this time tackling Enforcer Roberts, but fell victim to the RCT (C-)

• The huge Primus then mauled Cyclonus, flattening him with a Running Powerslam for the win (D+)

After the match, Marc DuBois and John Greed charged the ring and helped Primus beat down Cyclonus some more, until Jack Giedroyc made the save

• Robbie Retro and James Hernandez then took on the Huntingdon Estate. Retro seemed capable of outmuscling his opponents, but the less experienced Hernandez was more vulnerable and fell victim to the double-team Twelve Bore finisher (C+)

• In the first of what would seem like a double bill for the night, Big Time beat the Samoan Swat Machines when the Samoan Wildboyz ran in and attacked their brothers behind the referee’s back – something that Big Time’s manager Katie Cameron seemed to think was all down to her... (C+, 1pt)

• In another contest that had a ‘part 1’ feel about it, California Fly Boy Donnie Jackson challenge for Eric Eisen’s Billion Dollar Belt, and even had the Favoured Son in trouble before Eric resorted to slugging him with a roll of quarters for the win (B-)

• Jackson’s partner James Prudence took on Remo in a rare Uprising appearance for the Alpha Male. Whether Remo was watching other matches, as he has largely been doing of late, is unknown, but he must have been impressed with what he saw from his opponent who floated like a butterfly and stung like a bee before landing hard on a Destroyer for the Remo win (B)

• In the second part of the tag series, the Wildboyz clashed with Northern Exposure, and it was the intervention of the Wildboyz’ brothers that cost them a guaranteed title shot as Umaga and Bali’s intervention led to a win for the Canadians (C+, 1pt)

• In something of a preview for next Thursday, Adam Matravers, Jake Marlowe, Joanne Rodriguez and Gregory Black clashed with Fredderique Garcia, Gino Montero, Melody Cuthill and Steven Parker. The crowd favourites came out on top when Black caught Montero with the Shining Wizard for the win (C+)

• The veteran Steve Flash was in action next, taking young debutant Davis Wayne Newton to school in further ‘proof’ that the old, established ways will beat the modern ways. Flash won out with a Flash Bang (C-)

• Next up, former tag champions CCX clashed with William Hayes and newcomer Antonio Maxi Marquez, with Ford Gumble’s kicks blistering Hayes en route to the win ©

• SWF Tag Team champions Wall of Muscle then made a grand entrance... to take on the Colony. With all due respect to the masked duo, they offered little resistance to the champions, who put them away with an Epic Fail (B-)

Mouthy youngster Jay Chord was clearly feeling confident as he tore into Christian Faith ahead of the main event. Faith seemed amused...

• The main event showed that Chord has promise, if not as much as he might think he does. He troubled the veteran Faith, preying on the bigger man’s lack of speed, but was unable to withstand the huge, clubbing blows from the Supreme Legend and eventually fell to a Leap of Faith (B)

Overall: B

Whoa, I didn't even see the predictions for the show. I was going to pick Gilmore and Eisen, too...

Congrats on your new house!

OOC: Thanks, Candyman. Moved in, hooked up, got the TV working... Mrs C's brother came around today and cut down all the grass the last owners left behind, which saved me doing it :)

Supreme TV Preview

It’s come to this: The tournament to name Rich Money’s opponent this Thursday night at Break Like The Wind reaches its conclusion on this week’s Supreme TV. Number seven seed Angry Gilmore, having taken down Runaway Train, Troy Tornado and Brandon James, faces number three seed Eric Eisen, who’s felled Jake Marlowe, Steve Frehley and Jack Bruce en route to the final. Only one of these men can go on to challenge the World champion. Tune in to Supreme TV to find out who that will be.

But that’s not all. Gregory Black is scheduled to take on Frederique Garcia in a non-title match ahead of their clash in survival action this Thursday night. Also on the show, Suzanne Brazzle and Joanne Rodriguez will square off with Melody Cuthill and Lauren Easter, following Easter and Cuthill’s assault of Grace Harper two weeks ago.

The Wall of Muscle are still smarting over Mr Tyler’s actions last week, and have declared that they’re in a fighting mood. They’re therefore going to give out a free title shot to a team they claim are ‘legendary’ – although given the smirk on the faces of Swoop McCarthy and Emma Chase as they announced that, we’re not so sure.

Further Break Like The Wind preview action will be seen as Vengeance’ Acolytes and their gigantic new team-mate Primus face off against Jack Giedroyc and two men he may want on his side come Thursday night, the Colony.

Just to mix things up, four so-far unassigned workers will doubtless be looking to impress potential captains as they meet in tag action, with ‘King of the Street’ Kurt Laramee and ‘Mainstream’ James Hernandez allying to take on Steve ‘Wrestling’ Flash and ‘Mexican McFly’ Gino Montero.

And as if that wasn’t enough, Mr Tyler has announced that we’ll be seeing a match that could have headlined this Thursday night, had the chips fallen just slightly differently: Rich Money will take on Chris Morrisette.

Sound good? Be sure to tune in to CBA tonight to catch Supreme TV!
