I like what I see here, you've got yourself a new reader ;)

I am glad you enjoyed that show, Harmor. Great to see a new reader here.

Michael 'P.S.' Hayes vs. Scott SteinerComment:

Scott had a B rated match with Luger for crying out loud, so he can be expected to become a solid singles wrestler.

That match grade was definitely a shock. But I was happy about it. :)

I love this diary so far. Good formatting and I like the booking so far.

Glad you're enjoying it and I hope the booking doesn't disappoint any later!

Fantastic first show, man!

Thanks! Hope I can live up to your great 1989 diary!

Loser Leaves Town: The Great Muta vs. Sting

Comment: Guessing this means Muta is going to Japan, which I guess isn't terrible as it frees up a pretty solid spot for one of your other lower card men, but it sucks in that you'll be missing out on his talents.

Buzz Sawyer vs. Ole Anderson

Comment: Just a bit of fuel for the Flair/Funk feud.

Bill Irwin and Rip Morgan vs. Midnight Express

Comment: Yay Midnights!

Mike Rotundo vs. Steve Williams

Comment: In the death of Muta, perhaps we'll see Orange County get the nod that the Rising Sun would have?

Michael 'P.S.' Hayes vs. Scott Steiner

Comment: Just a way to give the Steiners a shot at the tag belts.

Terry Funk vs. Junkyard Dog

Comment: JYD is best served as JTTS.

Signs:

Sayonara, Muta!

Bill Irwin and Rip Morgan vs. Midnight Express

Comment: Team with name beats Team without name

Mike Rotundo vs. Steve Williams

Comment: But a cheap win

Michael 'P.S.' Hayes vs. Scott Steiner

Comment: I like Hates..Rooting for Hayes...but Scott Steiner in 1989 is the future

Terry Funk vs. Junkyard Dog

Comment: reviving their great rivalry from 85...Would love to see it re-ignite but JYD is on his way out now

Loser Leaves Town: The Great Muta vs. Sting

Comment: I really hope this isnt the end of Great Muta in the NWA

Buzz Sawyer vs. Ole Anderson

Comment: If Muta looses J-Tex needs the win here

Bill Irwin and Rip Morgan vs. Midnight Express

Comment: Come on seriously this is like the most obvious msatch this week.

Mike Rotundo vs. Steve Williams

Comment:Just following a hunch

Michael 'P.S.' Hayes vs. Scott Steiner

Comment: Steiners are going on a tag title run and they need the wins to seem like credible contenders.

OOC NOTE: I hope everyone is having a great day whenever you read this. I have made the decision to broaden the range of when I post my shows. I have made the decision to broaden it to 3-7 days after I post the card preview. So generally speaking you can expect a new show to be posted every 3-7 days after I post the card preview here in this diary and in my

The Flying Menace (USPW/Cornellverse) diary. I hope this will help you enjoy my diaries even further.

NWA WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP WRESTLING!

Saturday Week 2 September 1989

Location: Athletics Center Arena (Great Lakes)

Attendance: 4,351

Overall Rating: B-

TV Rating: 2.34

http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/NWA-2/gordonsolie2.jpghttp://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/NWA-2/jimross2.jpg

[The fans are on their feet within the Athletics Center Arena in Rochester, Michigan. One fan sign is shown to begin the show: 'Hi Mom!!!' Gordon Solie and Jim Ross welcome everyone to World Championship Wrestling and the National Wrestling Alliance! Solie and Ross begin talking about the matches scheduled for this evening, including a main event where Terry Funk takes on Junkyard Dog. The cheers from the fans turn to boos when two men walk down toward the ring.]

http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/NWA-2/garyhart.jpghttp://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/NWA-2/terryfunk2.jpg

[Gary Hart leads one of the members of the J-Tex Corporation Terry Funk down to the ring. Hart has a microphone and begins running down the intelligence of the fans here in the arena since they choose to boo a man like Terry Funk. Terry Funk gets on the microphone and focuses his attention on the NWA World Champion Ric Flair. He says that old banana nose is not going to be keeping the title for too much longer. As he continues to run down Flair, he is interrupted by the sound of a howling dog.]

http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/NWA-2/JunkYardDog.jpg

[Junkyard Dog comes out from the back! The crowd cheers as the Master of the Thump Powerslam high fives them on the way into the ring. JYD gets on the microphone and says that every dog has his day and today is that day for the Junkyard Dog. Funk interrupts him with a story about an old dog he used to have on the double cross ranch. This was a mean dog who didn't get along with anybody. So he took him out back and put him out of his misery. That is exactly what he plans to do with JYD tonight. The two go face to face but seperate before any physical altercation can occur.]

Match #1

http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/NWA-2/greatmuta.jpg w/ http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/NWA-2/garyhart.jpg vs. http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/NWA-2/sting4.jpg

Loser Leaves Town

The Great Muta vs. Sting

[Our opening contest is one that the fans have been wanting to see for awhile now. But it is also a Loser Leaves Town match! The Loser must leave NWA! This is a solid back and forth contest with both men showing that they don't want to be forced from the company. Gart Hart, at ringside, interferes quite liberally behind the referee's back. The referee gets taken down during the match and Hart jumps on the apron grabbing Sting. Muta comes over -- Mist Spray -- DUCKED! Sting ducked the mist and it got in the eyes of Gary Hart! Hart falls off the apron and Sting knocks Muta in the corner -- Stinger Splash! Muta falls forward and Sting grabs him by the legs -- Scorpion Deathlock! The referee recovers as Muta is trying to reach the ropes! Muta stretches for them but Sting moves him back into the center of the ring. Muta looks to the referee -- and submits! Muta submits!]

Winner: Sting (Via Submission @ 9:32)

Match Rating: B

[Gary Hart hears the sound of the bell but he has no clue right now who won the match. Though the fans do as one fan holds up a sign reading: 'Sayonara, Muta!' When the ring announcer announces Sting's name Hart goes berzerk at ringside! The Great Muta exits the ring and heads toward the back, while Gary Hart is waving toward the back. Is he trying to get Muta to come back in the ring? Wait, we have, is that a fan entering the ring?]

http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/NWA-2/cactusjack3.jpg

[That's no fan! That's Cactus Jack! Cactus Jack slides in and attacks Sting from behind! Jack body slams Sting inside the ring and then tosses him out through the ropes to the outside. He rams Sting rib-first into the guardrail and then lays him out on the floor. Jack climbs onto the apron and gives his trademark 'Bang, Bang!' He runs along the apron and leaps -- Elbow Drop! The crowd boos as Cactus smiles and laughs psychotically while EMTs come out to check on Sting.]

http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/NWA-2/NWA.jpg

http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/NWA-2/ricflairc.jpghttp://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/NWA-2/oleanderson.jpg

[As Sting gets checked out by the officials, we head backstage through the use of the TurnerTron where we see Ric Flair and Ole Anderson holding an animated conversation. Flair tells Anderson that he's upset about Anderson not coming out at the end of last week's show. Anderson tries to explain that he already left the building that night. The conversation ends with Flair walking off and Anderson looking poised to hurt someone.]

http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/NWA-2/NWA.jpg

Match #2

http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/NWA-2/buzzsawyer.jpg w/ http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/NWA-2/garyhart.jpg vs. http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/NWA-2/oleanderson.jpg

Buzz Sawyer vs. Ole Anderson

[Ole Anderson gets the opportunity to take a little of his aggression out on a member of the J-Tex Corporation in Buzz Sawyer. This is a brawl that sees Anderson in control for most of the match's duration with Buzz Sawyer getting in just a little offense. A fan sign is shown held within the background during this match that reads: '4 Forever!' Anderson finishes off Sawyer inside the ring with a Spinebuster and a pinfall: 1 -- 2 -- 3!]

Winner: Ole Anderson (Via Pinfall @ 5:48)

Match Rating: D

http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/NWA-2/NWA.jpg

http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/NWA-2/paule.jpghttp://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/NWA-2/samu5.jpghttp://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/NWA-2/fatu7.jpg

[Following the ending of that match, we are taken to a pre-taped interview with Paul E. Dangerously and The Samoan Swat Team. Dangerously talks about just how dangerous his team his. He says that even though the odds are stacked against his team at Fall Brawl when they take on the Road Warriors, he knows that his team is better than any team that Paul Ellering could pull together. So live on pay-per-view, we are going to see the beginning of the downfall of Hawk and Animal.]

http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/NWA-2/NWA.jpg

http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/NWA-2/gordonsolie2.jpghttp://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/NWA-2/jimross2.jpg

[We are taken to the announcers Gordon Solie and Jim Ross. The two of them discuss the matches tonight so far and then turn their attention to the main event where Terry Funk will take on Junkyard Dog! It should be a real slobberknocker, fans! Make sure you stay tuned!]

http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/NWA-2/NWA.jpg

Match #3

http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/NWA-2/billirwin2.jpghttp://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/NWA-2/ripmorgan.jpg vs. http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/NWA-2/stanlane.jpghttp://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/NWA-2/bobbyeaton2.jpg

Bill Irwin and Rip Morgan vs. Midnight Express

[Our next bout is tag team acton as 'Wild' Bill Irwin and Rip Morgan team up to take on the Midnight Express. Irwin had a bullwhip he snapped toward the Express before the match started. Once the match began, though, it was all Midnights. Beautiful Bobby Eaton and 'Sweet' Stan Lane showed their tag team accumen with several double teams and quick tags. One fan held up a sign during the match which reads: 'Cornette stole my tennis racket!' The match ended around the six minute mark when Eaton came off the top turnbuckle with the Alabama Jam legdrop and made the cover on Irwin: 1 -- 2 -- 3!]

Winners: Midnight Express (Via Pinfall @ 6:14)

Match Rating: C-

[Midnight Express get their arms raised in victory but that victory is cut short by three men heading to the ring.]

http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/NWA-2/theadorerlong.jpghttp://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/NWA-2/sidvicious3.jpghttp://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/NWA-2/danspivey2.jpg

[Theodore R. Long, Sid Vicious and Dan Spivey all make their way down to the ring but Bobby Eaton and Stan Lane are ready for them inside the ring! The Midnight Express attack The Skyscrapers as soon as Vicious and Spivey try to enter the ring. They turn their attention to Spivey and flatten him with a double flapjack! They both get up and get mowed down by Sid Vicious! Vicious puts the boots to them while Teddy Long looks on proudly. Spivey gets up and joins in the assault. Stan Lane gets picked up from the mat and dropped with a Double Power Bomb! Vicious and Spivey look proud of the assault as officials hit the ring.]

http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/NWA-2/NWA.jpg

http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/NWA-2/RickSteiner3.jpghttp://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/NWA-2/ScottSteiner22.jpghttp://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/NWA-2/MichaelHayes7.jpghttp://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/NWA-2/jimmygarvin.jpg

[Through the use of the Turnertron and the video for those viewers watching at home, we head backstage where a brawl has broken out between The Steiner Brothers and The Fabulous Freebirds! Rick Steiner and Jimmy Garvin are brawling, while Scott Steiner and Michael Hayes are going at it! Officials have to step in to break things up between the four men and security steps in, escorting Rick Steiner and Jimmy Garvin from the building, leaving only Scott Steiner and Michael Hayes as they will go one on one later tonight!]

http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/NWA-2/NWA.jpg

Match #4

http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/NWA-2/mikerotundo.jpg vs. http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/NWA-2/SteveWilliams2.jpg

Mike Rotundo vs. Steve Williams

[A fine technical masterpiece between two wrestlers who know how to get the job done on the mat. The match itself, though, is rather short and most of the match sees Rotundo in control, trying to prove the superiority of Syracuse over Oklahoma and Steve Williams. Rotundo catches Dr. Death with a flying clothesline and then picks him up -- Airplane Spin! Nearing the five minute mark, Rotundo makes the cover: 1 -- 2 -- 3!]

Winner: Mike Rotundo (Via Pinfall @ 4:41)

Match Rating: C+

http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/NWA-2/NWA.jpg

http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/NWA-2/alperez.jpghttp://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/NWA-2/missyhyatt.jpg

[Once again, we head backstage through the use of the Turnertron and video for those viewing at home. The camera focuses in on the 'Latin Heartthrob' Al Perez as he approaches the beautiful Missy Hyatt. Perez asks Hyatt on a date but Missy turns him down cold. Perez starts to get physical with her but she manages to push him aside and begins running away. Perez looks at her and laughs.]

http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/NWA-2/NWA.jpg

Match #5

http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/NWA-2/MichaelHayes7.jpg vs. http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/NWA-2/ScottSteiner22.jpg

Michael 'P.S.' Hayes vs. Scott Steiner

[Due to her 'condition' after the incident with Al Perez, Missy Hyatt does not accompany Scott Steiner down to the ring for this very physical matchup with Michael Hayes. As anyone could expect, this match is a back and forth contest with neither man holding a long advantage throughout the entire encounter. Steiner uses several suplexes to get multiple two counts, including an overhead belly to belly suplex that sent Hayes flying nearly outside the ring! Hayes, though, kept his cool throughout the bout even when Steiner signalled for the Frankensteiner. Hayes held onto the top rope as Steiner leaped and Steiner landed on the mat hard. Hayes grabbed him and rolled him up: 1 -- Hayes puts his feet on the ropes -- 2 -- 3! What a horrible way to end the match but the Freebird gets the win!]

Winner: Michael 'P.S.' Hayes (Via Pinfall @ 10:04)

Match Rating: B-

http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/NWA-2/NWA.jpg

Match #6

http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/NWA-2/terryfunk2.jpg w/ http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/NWA-2/garyhart.jpg vs. http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/NWA-2/JunkYardDog.jpg

Terry Funk vs. Junkyard Dog

[Our main event encounter and what should be a very good match. The match definitely turned out to be a near classic encounter between these two men. The action is back and forth until some well-timed interference by Gary Hart gives Funk the advantage. For several minutes during the middle of the match, Funk holds the advantage on JYD and scores several near falls. He goes for the Spinning Toe Hold but JYD manages to kick him off and away! JYD comes back with the crowd on his side and multiple headbutts to Funk. JYD picks up Funk on his shoulders. He's going for the Thump! But Gary Hart grabs his foot from the outside! JYD kicks Hart off and moves forward but Funk slips out the backdoor! JYD turns around and Funk kicks him in the gut and tucks him in -- Texas Piledriver! Not even a hard head like JYD can survive one of those! Funk makes the cover: 1 -- 2 -- 3!]

Winner: Terry Funk (Via Pinfall @ 11:04)

Match Rating: B

[A big win for Terry Funk in our main event contest here. Gary Hart enters the ring and raises the arm of Funk. Their celebration is cut short, though, when the theme from 2001 begins to play! The crowd gets on their feet and watch as a figure comes runing toward the ring from the back.]

http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/NWA-2/ricflairc.jpg

[it's the NWA World Heavyweight Champion Ric Flair! The Nature Boy slides in and Gary Hart tries to stand in between Flair and Funk. Hart takes several Nature Boy chops! Hart goes down and Flair and Funk go face to face. These two men will meet at Fall Brawl at the end of the month. They are jawwing and Flair prepares to punch but Funk drops down and exits the ring, walking away with a knowing smile on his face. The two wrestlers continue their staredown as the show comes to a close.]

Norman The Lunatic vs. Beautiful Bobby Eaton

Comment: Obviously Eaton has more going on, and as such can pick up a win here on that basis.

Bill Irwin and Rip Morgan vs. The Steiners

Comment: Building up the team is not a bad thing.

Samu vs. Road Warrior Animal

Comment: Absolutely no chance. Fall Brawl can't come fast enough for this feud.

Mike Rotundo vs. Ricky Steamboat

Comment: This will be your top rated match, but it will go the way of The Dragon. Rotundo will look very good though.

Terry Funk, Cactus Jack, The Dragonmaster and Dick Slater vs. Ric Flair, Ole Anderson, Sting and Junkyard Dog

Comment: Dragonmaster is the dog that drags his team down. Must say that I enjoy the pairing of Cactus with Funker though, that's some high quality teaming.

Signs: Cactus is Back!

Comment: hard hitting, but Road Warrior wins

Mike Rotundo vs. Ricky Steamboat

Terry Funk, Cactus Jack, The Dragonmaster and Dick Slater vs. Ric Flair, Ole Anderson, Sting and Junkyard Dog

Comment: Horsemen win - maybe some more words between Ole and Flair? Dragonmaster and Slater look to be the weak links here. Heels keep their heat with post match beatdown.

Comment: Straight forward squash

Samu vs. Road Warrior Animal

Comment: No sells ahoy but Animal is the bigger star here.

Mike Rotundo vs. Ricky Steamboat

Comment: A good match but The Dragon can be the only winner here.

Terry Funk, Cactus Jack, The Dragonmaster and Dick Slater vs. Ric Flair, Ole Anderson, Sting and Junkyard Dog

Comment: Dissention in the ranks for the Horsemen and the presence of JYTTSD tips the balance. I say Jack over the Dog.

Glad you like the pairing of Cactus and Funk. Those two definitely have similar styles and Funk will be a major help for Cactus down the line, I'm sure.

w00t! Perfect score on first prediction? I'll take that ^^

Great job on your first prediction! Only time will tell if you're able to continue the streak.

The show should be up later on today, folks! Make sure you get those predictions in! Thank you to those of you who already have.

NWA WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP WRESTLING!

Saturday Week 3 September 1989

Location: Allen Fieldhouse (Mid South)

Attendance: 14,495

Overall Rating: B

TV Rating: 2.37

http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/NWA-2/gordonsolie2.jpghttp://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/NWA-2/jimross2.jpg

[Gordon Solie and Jim Ross welcome everyone to NWA's World Championship Wrestling right here from the Allen Fieldhouse on the campus of the University of Kansas in Lawrence, Kansas! What a show we have for you this evening, including an eight man tag team main event featuring eight of the top National Wrestling Alliance athletes! As we pan around the crowd, several signs are shown to open things, including: 'We want Flair Steamboat one more time!' and 'WE WANT MUTA BACK!' Speaking of top athletes, we head down to the ring for the entrance of one of those top athletes.]

http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/NWA-2/sting4.jpg

[it's the man called Sting! Sting comes out giving high fives to the fans and posing for pictures with the little Stingers in the audience. He steps inside the ring and turns his focus to the man known as Cactus Jack. He says that last week after he got rid of the Great Muta, Jack decided that he would try to get one up on the Stinger. Well, good job, you attacked Sting from behind. Well, why don't you come and fight me like a man? Sting continued to call out Cactus Jack until a figure came up the ramp.]

http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/NWA-2/cactusjack3.jpg

[The madman from Truth or Consequences New Mexico Cactus Jack came stalking down toward the ring! Sting exited the ring and met Cactus along the ramp! The two exchanged punches with neither man getting the advantage until Jack landed a low blow on the Stinger! Jack picked up Sting and dropped him throat-first on the guardrail! Sting grabbed his throat in obvious pain and Jack made the 'Bang Bang' hand symbol. Jack smiles and clotheslines down Sting and then drags him to the ringside area. Jack climbs up on the ring apron and stares down at the man called Sting. He runs along the apron -- Bang Bang Elbow! He caught Sting in the heart with that elbow drop! Sting is down and hurting! Officials come running out but it's too little, too late! Cactus laughs maniacally and points to a sign reading: 'Cactus is Back!']

http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/NWA-2/NWA.jpg

Match #1

http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/NWA-2/mikeshaw2.jpg w/ http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/NWA-2/theadorerlong.jpg vs. http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/NWA-2/bobbyeaton2.jpg

Norman The Lunatic vs. Beautiful Bobby Eaton

[Our first actual match of the evening is a little better than some would have thought as Norman The Lunatic steps in the ring with the tag team specialist in Beautiful Bobby Eaton. Theodore R. Long comes out with Norman and he's wearing a key around his neck, most likely to the insane asylum where he found Norman. Despite the size difference, Bobby Eaton is in control for most of this match. These two wrestlers don't really click in the ring, though, and it makes for a slightly awkward match. Around the six minute mark, Eaton manages to knock Norman onto his back and then heads for the top turnbuckle -- Alabama Jam! Eaton makes the cover: 1 -- 2 -- 3!]

Winner: Bobby Eaton (Via Pinfall @ 6:16)

Match Rating: C-

[Beautiful Bobby Eaton pulls himself off the much larger and fallen body of Norman The Lunatic. He gets his arm raised but at the same time Teddy Long is waving toward the back. Two figures come out heading right for the ring.]

http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/NWA-2/sidvicious3.jpghttp://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/NWA-2/danspivey2.jpg

[Sid Vicious and Dan Spivey, The Skyscrapers, hit the ring and Eaton goes after both of them. Pretty soon, though, the numbers and power game plays havoc on Eaton and he gets taken down with a Double Power Bomb! Teddy Long stands in the ring with the Skyscrapers, raising their arms as they get some momentum on The Midnight Express, who they will be facing at Fall Brawl!]

http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/NWA-2/NWA.jpg

http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/NWA-2/eddiegilbert.jpghttp://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/NWA-2/alperez.jpg

[We head backstage courtesy of the TurnerTron and it is there that we see the Latin Heartthrob Al Perez walking down a hallway. He makes a turn and comes face to face with 'Hotstuff' Eddie Gilbert! Perez is given pause and then he is struck in the head by Gilbert! The two begin brawling backstage until several road agents jump in to break things up. Gilbert fights free of them after a moment and leaps, taking down Perez and the road agents. Gilbert yells at Perez, telling him to stay away from Missy! Security steps in again to break things up once again as we head to a pre-recorded interview.]

http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/NWA-2/NWA.jpg

http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/NWA-2/luger.jpg

[This pre-recorded interview is with the NWA United States Heavyweight Champion The Total Package Lex Luger! Luger talked about how both Ricky Steamboat and Ric Flair wished they had as good a body combined as The Total Package does. In a little over a week, at Fall Brawl, Steamboat is gonna head up in the rack. Then the Total Package is going to trade in the NWA United States Heavyweight title for a better title in the NWA World title. It doesn't matter whether it's Ric Flair or Terry Funk that he faces. In the end, everyone is going to be racked!]

http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/NWA-2/NWA.jpg

Match #2

http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/NWA-2/billirwin2.jpghttp://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/NWA-2/ripmorgan.jpg vs. http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/NWA-2/RickSteiner3.jpghttp://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/NWA-2/ScottSteiner22.jpg

Bill Irwin and Rip Morgan vs. The Steiners

[Our next bout is surprising in just how good it is. Irwin and Morgan seem to be settling in as a tag team with their second match in a row and the Steiners are obviously one of the premier tag teams in professional wrestling. The match itself was rather short for a tag team match and saw Irwin and Morgan get in very few offensive moves. The match ended in just over five minutes when Scott lifted Irwin on his shoulders and Rick came off the top turnbuckle with the Steiner Bulldog! Scott made the cover: 1 -- 2 -- 3!]

Winners: The Steiners (Via Pinfall @ 5:32)

Match Rating: B-

http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/NWA-2/NWA.jpg

http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/NWA-2/oleanderson.jpghttp://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/NWA-2/rickysteamboat2.jpg

[We go backstage once again, courtesy of the Turnertron, and it is inside the locker room of Ricky 'The Dragon' Steamboat. This man will be challenging for the NWA United States Heavyweight title in a little over a week. A knock comes on the door and in walks Ole Anderson! Steamboat stands from a bench but Anderson tells him that he didn't come here to fight. He came here to give Steamboat a warning. He knows that Steamboat is fighting Luger at Fall Brawl for the U.S. title and number one contenders status. But he wants to make one thing clear. Whether Steamboat wins or loses, he better not look to challenge Ric Flair for the title because if he does it will be the biggest mistake that he ever makes. He tells him to think about that and then walks off, leaving Steamboat looking a little angered by that threat.]

http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/NWA-2/NWA.jpg

http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/NWA-2/sting4.jpghttp://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/NWA-2/cactusjack3.jpg

[speaking of backstage, we move to another hallway backstage where Sting goes flying across the face of the camera and catches himself on a table. Cactus Jack comes right up to him but Sting throws some punches, firing back on the madman! Sting and Cactus Jack exchange blows in this backstage hallway. Sting slams Jack's face against the wall and then trips him up, mounting and punching away at Cactus Jack! Officials and security team members come in to break things up. They pull Sting off, giving Jack a free shot that he takes! The security steps in between them, doing their best to keep these two men apart. Two men who will do battle at Fall Brawl!]

http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/NWA-2/NWA.jpg

Match #3

http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/NWA-2/samu5.jpg w/ http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/NWA-2/paule.jpg vs. http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/NWA-2/animal3.jpg w/ http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/NWA-2/paulellering.jpg

Samu vs. Road Warrior Animal

[Our third match of the evening is another one that is surprising in just how good it is. This was a hard-hitting contest between these two that saw both men no-sell their opponent's no offense again and again as it seemed these two were evenly matched. A fight between Paul E. Dangerously and Paul Ellering occured outside the ring, prompting Hawk and Fatu to come down and get involved. Inside the ring, Animal catches Samu with a Flying Shoulder Tackle and makes the cover: 1 -- 2 -- 3!]

Winner: Road Warrior Animal (Via Pinfall @ 6:53)

Match Rating: B-

http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/NWA-2/fatu7.jpghttp://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/NWA-2/hawk3.jpg

[The fight continues outside the ring as Fatu and Road Warrior Hawk exchange blows. Paul E. Dangerously catches Paul Ellering with his cell phone! Dangerously tries to intervene against Hawk but Animal comes outside the ring and throws Dangerously off. Samu recovers inside the ring and comes out, attacking Animal. All four hard hitting wrestlers brawl to the back with officials waiting there to get them apart.]

http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/NWA-2/NWA.jpg

http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/NWA-2/ricflairc.jpg

[We head backstage once again and this time we are given an interview with the NWA World Heavyweight Champion The Nature Boy Ric Flair! He begins by saying that everyone here knows you are looking at the greatest NWA World Champion in the history of this business. You're looking at the man who holds the ten pounds of gold. Terry Funk, my attention is on you and you alone right now as we head toward Fall Brawl. At Fall Brawl, I'm gonna party alllll night long. I'm gonna dance a little longer, Whooo, and stay a little longer after that. You and I have a date with destiny, Terry Funk, and at the end of that night you're gonna know why to be the man you have to beat the man. Whooooo!]

http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/NWA-2/NWA.jpg

Match #4

http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/NWA-2/mikerotundo.jpg vs. http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a226/shawkes/NWA-2/rickysteamboat2.jpg

Mike Rotundo vs. Ricky Steamboat

[Our semi main event is an absolutely amazing match between these two superb athletes. Both of these men are at their best and it shows here tonight as the fans really get into this contest. Rotundo scores several near falls throughout the contest, coming close to defeated Steamboat. Steamboat also scores a near fall here and there though Rotundo seems to hold a distinct advantage at times. During the match, a sign is shown within the background when Rotundo has Steamboat in an abdominal stretch: 'Dragon > Dragonmaster!' Rotundo goes for the Airplane Spin but Steamboat slips out of it. He lifts Rotundo from behind with a chicken wing and slams him down onto the mat. A little after the nine minute mark, Steamboat heads to the top turnbuckle, waiting for Rotundo to rise. When he does, The Dragon leaps and catches Rotundo with a Flying Body Press! Steamboat hooks the leg: 1 -- 2 -- 3!]

Winner: Ricky Steamboat (Via Pinfall @ 9:37)

Match Rating: A

Terry Funk, Cactus Jack, The Dragonmaster and Dick Slater vs. Ric Flair, Ole Anderson, Sting and Junkyard Dog

[Our main event this evening is an eight man tag team encounter with eight of the toughest wrestlers in the world today doing battle. Sting was coming into this one a little worse for wear. There seemed to be some issues between Ric Flair and Ole Anderson throughout the match as well. There was also an issue between Ric Flair and a fan who held up a sign reading: 'Ric Flair stole my look!' This means that the J-Tex Corporation really was able to take advantage of things. Gary Hart was very liberal in his interference in the match, nearly getting caught at times but he was able to make sure his interference was not seen. In the end, though, all eight men were doing battle either in the ring or outside the ring and Flair took down Dick Slater with a chop to the chest. He grabbed his legs -- Figure 4 Leglock! Slater cried out in pain, shaking his head as Flair held on to his signature move. The Dragonmaster leaped into the ring but he was too late! Slater gave up and the referee called for the bell!]

Winners: Ric Flair, Ole Anderson, Sting and Junkyard Dog (Via Submission @ 18:50)

Match Rating: B+

[but just because the bell sounded, that didn't mean the fights were over. Sting and Cactus Jack brawled through the crowd! Ole Anderson and Junkyard Dog battled with The Dragonmaster and Dick Slater! As that battle waged, a sign was held up in the background reading: 'Sayanora Dragonmaster - Muta misses ya!' That left Ric Flair to fight with Terry Funk! At the end of the broadcast, Flair sent Funk up and over the top rope to the outside of the ring. Funk backed off some and he stared down with Ric Flair as war waged on all around them. But we have to go! We'll see you next week right here on the SuperStation!]
