Hey there folks. I am once again back with my little update for all you diehard LWA internet fans, giving you the scoop behind the scenes of Puerto Rico's premium wrestling promotion.

 

Now I know that you've all probably read those 'transcripts' that keep getting published. These are complete garbage loosely basely on fact. Someone, somewhere, is leaking little bits of information from my office and that mystery reviewer guy is making up the rest. I assure you, I

will

be plugging this leak and my web team are hunting down the source of these lies as we speak.

 

But as I said, they

are

loosely based in fact...

 

BUSINESS

So, not a lot this month. The one thing I

can

tell you is we were part of a Regional Battle in the Tri-State last month, I hadn't even realised we were that popular over on the mainland, but there you go. Good news is we came second, beating AWW into third. At least I know now, I can keep an eye on that this month.

I've picked up a few new guys to boost the roster a little further. One you know about (and just to point out things did

As reported elsewhere on the site the LWA Management have decided to run a tounament to find three worthy challengers to Daniel Azaria's Puerto Rican Regional Title. This is the first of three triple-threat matches to find those challengers. Having already challenged for the title last month BF Reed has the obvious advantage, but Los Numeros have already shown they are willing to break the rules to try and get the job done. And with the mentorship of the great Cordero Calderon behind him PR Flash could be the dark horse in this match-up. It could go any way!

With the 24/7 Express beating the Los Numeros team of Uno & Tres last month new number one contenders to the Tag Titles must be found. The newly formed pairing of Poco Loco and the debuting Twisted Santa have been thrown in there, along with the highflying team of Supreme & Monterrey. However, the surprise is the addition of Dos & Tres. With Los Numeros' loss last month it seemed they would be at the bottom of the pile but have declared that until the tag champions have beaten all of them they still deserve a shot and demanded to be added to the match.

A guess here, but Uno is past his prime while PR Flash is still very young, so I'll take BF Reed here.

I see Airbourne as having the better workers, at least individually.

I'm a big fan of Dreamscape, but all the signs point to a dominating win for the big guys here. Hope you don't get negative tag chemistry between Dreamscape like I did in my game.

Could go either way, but having the faces go over seems like a good way to send the fans home happy without having to have La Buey himself get pinned.

 

 

Edit: Missed the part about their being three hidden matches initially. Here's my guesses:

 

Shay Kinsella vs Eric Lothario

Brian King vs Cross

Ricky Binks and Zack Martin vs Devon Homicide and Clayton Bennett

 

I can see Lothario using his influence to get himself pushed over the veteran Kinsella. I figure Brian King will be in a match and Cross has yet to debut as well, so a match between them might make sense. The 24/7 Express are obvious choices for one side of the tag match; I just guessed their opponents by who was on the roster and didn't have a match yet.

This one is actually quite hard to figure out. Los Numeros are only heel team and with face champs that would make them the most likely pick expect that they are openers while other teams are formed by midcard guys. Loco is the top guy in terms of push but I got an impression that you don´t particularly like him (he was totally squashed last time despite his upper midcard status) so I go with Airborne instead.

THE CAGE WARRIORS (w/Ms Jamie Vann) vs DREAMSCAPE

Frightening did win he´s match in last show but so did Warriors and with Scaremare being only on loan (at least for now) the scales tilt to Warriors side.

 

MAIN EVENT MATCH

CORDERO CALDERON & DANIEL AZARIA vs LA BUEY & ALEX VIDAL (w/Big E)

Calderon and Buey cancel each other´s out but Vidal didn´t really impress me much in first show losing to Frightening in that six man match that didn´t include any top names. Azaria on the other hand got a midcard title run so I´d say that he´s hotter from the two right now. Then again if Vidal and Azaria are feuding then this would be perfect opportunity to give Vidal a win and with Big E on their corner I change my mind and give heels a win here.

ALVARO JR WELCOMES THE AUDIENCE/B-REAL INTRODUCES HIMSELF

Álvaro Buey Jr climbed into the ring and welcomed the 1561 strong crowd to the show, before announcing that the first match of the night would feature a debut.

B-Real's music hit and he walked to the top of the ramp with a mic in his hand. The rap was mainly based around how we should all remember his name because hes going to be huge, but he loves the fans and they should love him too, by which point he was in the ring with his back to the entranceway.

Scott Cross came steaming down the ramp, slid into the ring and leveled B-Real with a shot to the back of the head! Cross picked up the mic, looked down at B-Real and screamed 'SHUUUUUT UUUUUUUUP!!!!' at him, before throwing down the mic.

 

 

Reviewers Thoughts:

Nice to have Alvaro out welcoming the fans, seeing a familiar face out there seemed to please the older fans. B-Real's rap wasn't

too

bad, he's obviously practiced it a lot, but man of the segment was Scott Cross, he came out of this looking amazing, some of the teenage fans actually cheered when he screamed down the mic!

*A potentially good opener featuring the debut of AWF legend Jerry King's son Brian aka B-Real*

*Once B-Real recovered from the cheapshot there was a good back and forth for the first half of the match before Cross took control at the six minute mark...*

*...by hitting B-Real full in the face with a vicious boot that split the youngster's lip and left his mouth bloody!*

*B-Real didn't really recover but Cross carried him through the rest of the match...*

*...finishing him of with the Cross Drop

Reviewers Thoughts:

If B-Real could have kept his stuff together and not run face first into Cross' boot (Cross played this off to perfection, gloating to the crowd while the ref checked Real could continue) this would have been an awesome match. As it was B-Real impressed for the first half of the match and Cross proved his worth by managing to carry the hurt and confused King to the end of the match. And fair play to the kid, he kept going to the finish.

CHASE PAIGE INTRODUCES HIS NEW ENFORCER

Chase Paige's music hits and he saunters to the ring with Eric Lothario. He grabs a mic and explains how VIPs and wrestling megastars these days need protection from jealous competitors and over-zealous fans, and sometimes a problem solver. A stocky shirtless big heavyweight with a crazed look in his eyes walks from the back to the ring. Paige introduces his new enforcer, Larry Mac, and warned the LWA roster that from now on, you cross the boss, Mac is gonna get you!

The crowd booing like crazy, the trio left the ring. On the way to the back a hillbilly looking fan threw a drink at Larry Mac. Mac grabbed him, pulled him over the barrier and pounded the crap out of him! Paige and Lothario laughed their heads off while show security tried, and eventually succeeded, to pull Larry Mac off the fan. Mac then leveled both security staff, before following Paige & Lothario to the back.

 

Reviewers Thoughts:

That was different! That fan attack was totally out of the blue, and a nice twist to an otherwise standard 'introdcing my bodyguard' segment. Trouble is I have no idea if it was a work or legit! For all I know we could see a law-suit on the way for Chase Paige! Mac sure plays crazy well, cos I for one am not convinced its an act!

GRADE: C-

*At the last moment referee Joe Preston realised Dos was not actually meant to be in the match, stopped the count and kicked Dos out of the ring*

*Uno climbed into the ring but BF Reed was up and hit him with the Babyface Bash

Reviewers Thoughts:

A well planned out match, not the greatest but solid for the guys involved. Not that the crowd really cared, which is a shame. This was meant to be for entry into a tournament, so I suppose this

might

mean a push for Reed?

Also good to see ref Joe Preston not falling for Los Numeros' tricks two shows in a row.

SHAY CALLS OUT CROSS, BUT GETS LOTHARIO

Shay Kinsella hit the ring and started expaining how Scott Cross cheated last month and he wants revenge. Chaise Paige's music hit and he came to the top of the ramp with Eric and Larry Mac. He told Shay that fine, he'd get his match, but not tonight. The crowd booed. Paige told Shay that he was already booked in a match, with Eric Lothario. So he'd better get ready.

During this Cross snuck into the ring behind Shay with a chair.

As they went to leave Eric took the mic and told Shay he should be careful what he wishes for, because he might get it sooner than he thinks, before throwing down the mic and walking to the back. Shay looked confused, then turned around into a chairshot to the head from Scott Cross! Scott mouthed 'See you next month' at the downed Kinsella, before heading to the back through a hail of paper cups from the audience.

 

Reviewers Thoughts:

A really nice segment there, now I see why Lothario and Kinsella weren't down for matches tonight, another 'impromptu' match. And it does seem like the Cross/Kinsella feud is going ahead, just not yet.

*Loco and Santa came to the ring seperately to their own music, Santa is definitely a heel so its an odd pairing*

*However they did take control early with Loco and Kosmo double-teaming Dos*

*Loco tagged Santa in, who kicked Kosmo in the gut and allowed Dos to tag Tres in, together double-teaming Kosmo*

*Tres hit a Piledriver on Supreme and covered him for the pin while Santa knocked Diego off the apron*

*With Airborne eliminated Santa sucker-punched Tres and went to fetch his Santa Sack*

*He brought it to the ring and chucked various things out of it, including a *ahem* 'personal' device...*

*...which landed in Tres's hands, before he realised and dropped it in disgust!*

*Santa found what he was looking for, a rubber mallet! But Ref Joe Preston grabbed it and tried to take it off Santa*

*In the confusion Loco tagged himself in and leveled the still disgusted Tres with a Spinning Forearm to seal the pinfall victory

Reviewers Thoughts:

A fun match. Airborne were kinda whipping boys in this one, which is a shame. Solid debut for Twisted Santa, he's definitely a weird one, and already a #1 Contender to the LWA Tag Titles with Poco Loco. But once again Loco didn't look happy out there and, if internet rumours are true, he's not too happy backstage either. Good to see progression in the tag division though, at least Paige is going to take it seriously (the tag division, not this comedy laden match...)

PRE-MATCH BOASTING

The Cage Warriors and their manager Ms Jamie Vann make their way to the ring for the next match. Before it began Ms Vann grabbed a mic and put over how dominating her clients were last month at Under New Management and how The Cage Warriors are going to dominate the competition all the way to the top.

Another good promo from the sultrey Ms Vann, and Bruiser & Tank somehow seem even more menacing this month!

A solid match from the Cage Warriors and the lowercard team of Dreamscape played their part to perfection. That !LARIAT! made Cassidy look like a god, stiking down his enemies (I mean, yeah, an ugly god) and Dixon definitely looks to be getting more of an understanding of the game already. And the KO finish was a good touch, nicely put over how badass these guys really are.

BENNETT & HOMICIDE DEMAND GOLD

Clayton Bennett & Devon Homicide made their way to the ring and said that they were both duped out of a title last month and, now they had patched up their differences, they wanted a shot at the LWA Tag Team Titles.

Champions Ricky Binks & Zach Martin came to the top of the ramp and told the duo that that was no problem, except that The Masks of Crazy are the #1 contenders, so they'll have to wait.

At that point Chase Paige, accompanied by Larry Mac, made a re-appearance and declared that Bennett & Homicide deserve their shot, and if they can beat the champs in a non-title match, right now, then they will be entered into the title match, making it a three way tussle. Paige shouted 'Ring the bell!' and Larry Mac chased the 24/7 Express down the ramp to the ring.

 

Reviewers Thoughts:

A bit ropey to start with, but it improved as it went on. Larry Mac genuinely looked like he would kill the 24/7 Express if he caught them!

Bennett & Homicide seem to complement each other quite well dispite their conflicting gimmicks (arrogant heel & street punk respectively) Second time Bennett's gone after Angelique, interesting (not that I blame him!) and this time it lead to a win for his team.

LA BUEY & VIDAL BACKSTAGE PROMO

The jumbotron finally jumped into life and we saw LWA Legacy Champion La Buey and his tag team partner for the evening Alex Vidal standing backstage staring into camera. They verbally rag on Calderon and Azaria, on their 'goodie-two-shoes' ways and their love of the cesspit of scum and villiany that is Puerto Rico, before declaring that when they win tonight they will take Vidal's Puerto Rican Title and destroy it, because that is all Puero Rico is good for, burning to the ground!

WOW! The crowd were out for blood after this segment. I mean, personally, I'm not from around here, so it didn't do a lot for me, but the locals lapped it up. La Buey nailed it totally... Vidal not so much

Well that was a lot better showing from Lothario this time around, and Kisella carried the match well. A good ending, keeps in with the new stable that seems to be being formed. The main thing that pulled this match down is the fact that Lothario looked completely exhausted by the end, I swear when Paige and Mac raised his hands in victory they were actually holding him up!

The jumbotron flashes back on and Cordero Calderon and Daniel Azaria are backstage, looking at the camera. They cut a promo about Puerto Rican pride, and what an important thing it is. Calderon told the fans that they should not fear, without the power of Puerto Rico behind them the turncoats will never prevail. Azaria went on to say that the turncoats will have to wrestle the Puerto Rican Title from his cold dead hands.

OVERALL THOUGHTS

 

Good to see the crowd leave happy this month with the faces going over. The Cage Warriors are my 'ones to watch' for the future of this company, no matter what Paige & Lothario say. A good introduction of the new LWA Enforcer Larry Mac, I'd say only Big E could hold his own, and they are both the same side of the fence right now, so yeah, best watch out folks, looks like even members of the crowd aint safe! A solid show, but once again Paige and co need to do better than 'solid' if they wanna set the world on fire.

My sources tell me that B-Real aka Brian King was furious after his match against Scott Cross on last nights LWA show. Apparently King was due to win his opening match via DQ with Cross trying to get the cheap win and getting caught out. But when King got busted open and was barely able to continue Cross did what any veteran would do when working with a rookie on their first ever show, took things home asap. So, the terrifying Larry Mac debuted at Date With Danger, and what a debut! The monsterous Mac scared the bejesus out of the crowd, and that fan attack looked brutal (see below for more on that). Mac stands at 6'8" and weights in at 385lb, he's a solid block of crazy! We did a little digging on u-view.com and found what we assume are the training tapes that got him the gig, turns out he's Scottish. So very Scottish that it took a guy from the UK I know to decipher the promo he cut on the tape! No wonder he is a silent destroyer, the mainly hispanic crowd wouldn't have a hope of understanding him! Well, that and he can't talk for toffee! So, I have some major news to impart to the LWA massive, and for a change no spotty faced blogger has managed to spoiler you, so you get it straight from the horses mouth, so to speak

 

*!NEW TV SHOW!*

OMG! They said it couldn't be done, but by God I've done it! Thanks to my amazing negotiating powers, our new 1hr show, The Puerto Rican Power Hour, will be shown on local channel U-demand: Puerto Rico, 10pm EST, every Friday from the first Friday of March! As I'm sure you're all aware U-demand: Puerto Rico is not only shown in PR but also in the Great Lakes region and so to all our die-hard internet fans in the Great Lakes area, make sure you don't miss it!

 

REGIONAL BATTLE

As was (annoyingly) leaked yesterday, we are currently losing a Regional Battle in the Tri-State region. The last thing LWA needs right now is to lose momentum going into a TV contract, and so, after a private meeting with Álvero Buey Jr, it has been decided that the LWA will be hosting a one off, pre-season spectacular this coming Thursday!
