The star rating system is easily abused. I wouldn't worry about it. Will Eric be showing up in GAW to help the Lothario legacy? ;)

Oh I'm not ;) Maybe in the future, if Jack can get GAW to a level where Guy is willing to sign for a tour before he retires, Eric might get hired :D

I think there's someone who gives all ThunderVerse (jhdverse) stuff low stars!

They hit me too! Its funny how mostly "Real World" diaries have 5 stars  LOL. Anyway I'm not worried about stars just that I get my vision of my game save out. I'm sure you feel the same. Keep up the good work.

Yeah, it's not just the Thunder-Verse that gets the one star treatment.....

I second that comment...some people just don't have imagination and need the real world characters to make it enjoyable...now that is just my opinion. My CVerse '97 got dinged about a week ago...probably by the same person(s)

Love the diary so far!

Nice start and interesting roster. It will be fun to see how this one goes.

CRASH & BURN vs Nytro & Spike Daryl (An extra point for each opponent correctly guessed)

They must win.

RUDY SINGLE vs THE STRONGMAN

Main eventer vs. lower midcard guy usually ends the same way and I don´t see why that wouldn´t be the case here.

THE WOODCUTTERS vs THE PAN-PACIFIC EXPRESS

They are older so they win. :p On a little bit more serious note Woodcutters are one of the two heel teams that you have so would be good idea to keep them strong. Oh and they are tag champs too.

THE FLYING BULLETS vs THE MOONSHINERS

Heel champs so challengers are faces, plus Moonshiners won both singles matches in last show.

JACK BODYDROP vs ALI ABABWA

Bounce back win for Bodydrop after tough loss in last show, possible via distraction if Eviscerator decides to pay a visit.

TERRY RAPADA vs JACK AMERICA

Rapada isn´t going to ldrop his title on first defense.

Good stuff thus far- really enjoying this concept for a promotion. It's the sort of thing I avoid like the plague in real life, but I love this sort of stuff in diary form :)

CRASH & BURN vs Jose Angel Garcias and Spike Daryl

RUDY SINGLE vs THE STRONGMAN

THE WOODCUTTERS vs THE PAN-PACIFIC EXPRESS

THE FLYING BULLETS vs THE MOONSHINERS

JACK BODYDROP vs ALI ABABWA

TERRY RAPADA vs JACK AMERICA

As I get a bit more aquainted with the roster, I'll add comments to my predictions.

GOLDEN AGE WRESTLING COMES TO NEW JERSEY

NIGHT#2

http://img546.imageshack.us/img546/5173/gawbanner.jpg

HELD AT THE WESTON GYMNASIUM, NEW JERSEY

IN FRONT OF 300 STRONG SELL-OUT CROWD

FEBRUARY 10TH 2012

http://img849.imageshack.us/img849/9866/rudysingle.jpghttp://i754.photobucket.com/albums/xx181/jhdTEW/AWF%20Diary/Cards/VS.jpghttp://img69.imageshack.us/img69/7625/thestrongman.jpg

'All Man'
RUDY SINGLE vs THE STRONGMAN
(w/The Ringmaster)

*A classic old school match here*

*The Strongman began by trying to overpower Single...*

*...while Single tried to take out the bigger man's legs*

*Eventually Single took the upper hand...*

*...and after Single delivered his patented Flying Double Axe Handle Smash to a momentarily stunned Strongman it was all over*

RUDY SINGLE wins via pinfall (5:38)

Reviewers Thoughts:
Solid match, foregone conclusion really. It's good to see that Jack America is keen on giving the fans matches that have never happened before, even if they're not dream matches. The Ringmaster did some good work as ringside too.

GRADE: D

ANOTHER CHALLENGE FOR THE DEVESTATORS

Rudy Single was still at ringside chatting to fans when a familiar fog-horn noise blasted out of the PA and Steamboat Hudson made his way to the ring, with a much more menacing attitude than last week's comedic performance. He grabbed a mic, pointed at the announce desk and declared that Juggernaut & Monstrosity got off light last week, and this week they would be facing a real legend, him!

Once again The Devastators looked at each other, laughed, took off their headsets and got into the ring. Once again, the crowd went wild! Rudy Single walked over to the announce table, sat down and put on a headset.

Reviewers Thoughts:
Really good segment! Hudson definitely makes a better menacing big-guy than a comedy heel. And obviously, The Devastators got a huge pop as always, IMO they are probably the most over guys on the tour.

And this week the webcast fans get Rudy Single on colour commentary for a match, sweet!

GRADE: C

THE DEVASTATORS

(Juggernaut & Monstrosity)

vs

STEAMBOAT HUDSON

*Hudson didn't go in for any of the theatrics that The Strongman started his match with last week...*

*...in fact, he rushed The Devastators as they climbed into the ring, Juggernaut hitting the outside and staying down while Hudson brawled with Monstrosity on the inside*

*Single actually went to check on Juggernaut, but came back smiling*

*Just as Hudson was gloating after a big bodyslam on Monstrosity Juggernaut got up, slid into the ring and tapped Hudson on the shoulder*

*Hudson span around into a flurry of lefts and rights from Juggernaut before getting irish whipped and flying shoulder tackled by Juggernaut, taking the big man off his feet*

*Monstrosity shook off the cobwebs and signaled for the Devastation Drop, but Juggernaut shook his head and indicated Hudson was way too fat!*

*As Hudson got up they grabbed him and delivered their old-school finisher from the 80s, the Double Devastation DDT
(lifting double DDT)
before both covered Hudson for the pin

THE DEVASTATORS win via pinfall (6:59)

Reviewers Thoughts:
Good showing from Hudson there, although he was completely blown up by the end of the match, he almost looked relieved as he got up to take the DD-DDT! All in all, a fun match

GRADE: D+

CRASH & BURN

vs

NYTRO & SPIKE DARYL

*This was pretty much your standard midcard tag team fare...*

*...will both teams getting some offense in before the experienced Crash & Burn took control of the match*

*The end came when Crash & Burn hit the imaginatively named Crash n Burn
(Second Rope Leg Drop/Backbreaker combo)
on Daryl to pick up the pinfall*

CRASH & BURN win via pinfall (9:04)

Reviewers Thoughts:
A decent match, Nytro looked pretty impressive while Daryl was blatantly the fall guy, Crash & Burn, once again, did their thing, these guys are so solid midcard it's like someone made an 80s power n paint cookie cutter!

GRADE: D

http://img9.imageshack.us/img9/3332/nytro.jpghttp://img405.imageshack.us/img405/505/spikedaryl.jpg

NYTRO ANGRY

Nytro was furious with Spike Daryl for losing the match for the team, and slapped the Hand of Frost on Daryl until officials could separate the two men.

Reviewers Thoughts:
Errrrrr.... don't tag with Nytro then?!?

GRADE: D-

EVISCERATOR vs KENNY FOREMAN

*Kenny Foreman look terrified as he walked to the ring*

*And rightly so as Eviscerator tore him apart!*

*Just as Eviscerator geared up to finish Foreman off with with a Running Splash Ali Ababwa ran down to the ring and attacked Eviscerator*

*As Eviscerator and Ababwa brawled the ref called for the bell...*

*...and awarded the victory to Eviscerator*

EVISCERATOR wins via DQ (6:02)

Reviewers Thoughts:
Another squash match for a rookie, but this time with a different ending. In all honesty the actual wrestling in this match was awful, and Kenny didn't really manage to get the crowd behind him, which was a shame. And its now a given that Ababwa vs Eviscerator isn't finished yet.

GRADE: E+

GAW AMERICAN TAG TEAM TITLE MATCH

THE WOODCUTTERS

(Lumber Jack & Yukon Jacques)

vs

THE PAN-PACIFIC EXPRESS

(Dwaine Kai & Tony Chi)

*The veterans, unfortunately, dominated the match throughout*

*They worked over the smaller of their two opponents Chi while Kai stood pleading for the hot tag*

*Unfortunately for the youngsters when he finally got it he ran straight into a massive lariat from Yukon Jacques...*

*...who picked Kai up, tagged in Lumber Jack and the pair delivered The Bandsaw to Dwaine Kai to pick up the win

THE WOODCUTTERS win via pinfall (7:20)

Reviewers Thoughts:
Another match of awful wrestling there, but the crowd didn't seem to mind that much. The job-squad of Chi & Kai did a decent job of selling The Woodcutters' sloppy offense pretty well

GRADE: D-

http://img21.imageshack.us/img21/4622/lumberjackz.jpghttp://img255.imageshack.us/img255/3479/yukonjacques.jpg

THE WOODCUTTERS SCOUT THEIR OPPONENTS

Instead of leaving ringside The Woodcutters grabbed a couple of chairs and sat at ringside, ready to scout out their opponents for next week's title defense as the #1 Contenders Match was up next. One fan tried to talk to them and then was scared back into his seat when Lumber Jack pulled back his fist.

Reviewers Thoughts:
This actually caused a bit of a stir at ringside, otherwise I probably wouldn't have mentioned it.

GRADE: D

MATCH for #1 CONTENDERSHIP to the GAW AMERICAN TAG TEAM TITLES

http://img802.imageshack.us/img802/9973/billyray.jpghttp://img152.imageshack.us/img152/6173/leeearl.jpghttp://i754.photobucket.com/albums/xx181/jhdTEW/AWF%20Diary/Cards/VS.jpghttp://img684.imageshack.us/img684/9889/bbrianbrowne.jpghttp://img854.imageshack.us/img854/2843/blairbrunzell.jpg

THE MOONSHINERS

(Billy Ray & Lee Earl)

vs

THE FLYING BULLETS

(B. Brian Browne & Blair Brunzell)

*An even performance here from the two veteran teams*

*Things went one way, then another, before Billy Ray took an oppotunity to trip Blair Brunzell from the outside as the ran the ropes, giving The Moonshiners the advantage*

*Lee Earl picked Brunzell up and whipped him at the ropes before delivering a Big Boot to the high flyer*

*But Earl had failed to notice B. Brian Browne make the tag when Brunzell hit the ropes!*

*Browne, now on the top turnbuckle, whistled at Earl who turned straight into a Flying Bodydrop*

*Brunzell managed to keep Billy Ray out of the ring while Browne pinned Earl with a handfull of denim dungarees

THE FLYING BULLETS win via pinfall (8:26)

Reviewers Thoughts:
A decent match there, not a huge supprise that The Bullets won the rubber match and this means that next show its The Woodcutters vs The Flying Bullets for the GAW American Tag Team Titles.

GRADE: D-

http://img684.imageshack.us/img684/9889/bbrianbrowne.jpghttp://img854.imageshack.us/img854/2843/blairbrunzell.jpghttp://img21.imageshack.us/img21/4622/lumberjackz.jpghttp://img255.imageshack.us/img255/3479/yukonjacques.jpg

CHAMPS ATTACK #1 CONTENDERS

As The Flying Bullets celebrated their victory The Woodcutters jumped out of their chairs at ringside, climbed into the ring and destroyed both of the veteran high-flyers, hitting The Bandsaw on both men before posing with their titles.

Reviewers Thoughts:
Good to see The Woodcutters being kept looking strong. Like many of the old-school heel teams Jack & Jacques are two big menacing guys, may as well let them play the part.

GRADE: D+

'The Big Cahoona' KAY PASA vs JOSE ANGEL GARCES

*This was a classic star versus jobber match*

*Kay Pasa dominated the match with Garcés getting very little offense in...*

*...before Kay Pasa hit the Running Headbutt for the victory*

KAY PASA wins via pinfall (5:48)

Reviewers Thoughts:
Well José Ángel Garcés seems to be being punished by Jack America for complaining last show, no ring girls, totally squashed by Kay Pasa. Good to see the big legend get a nice bounce-back match after his main event loss last week.

GRADE: D

http://img850.imageshack.us/img850/2066/jackamerica.jpg

JACK AMERICA PROMO

Jack America's music hit and he made his way to the ring. Jack delivered an empassioned promo about America, how great it is and how he knows that he is not yet a legend, but how he intends to become one in the eyes of the fans by winning, in his eyes, the greatest title in professional wrestling, the Golden Age Wrestling World Heavyweight Title!

Reviewers Thoughts:
Good promo from Jack there. Even though he, as he said himself, is not yet a legend the fans of GAW certainly react well to his patriotic schtick

GRADE: C

http://img24.imageshack.us/img24/5532/jackbodydrop.jpghttp://i754.photobucket.com/albums/xx181/jhdTEW/AWF%20Diary/Cards/VS.jpghttp://img840.imageshack.us/img840/6327/aliababwa.jpg

JACK BODYDROP vs 'The Iron Sheik' ALI ABABWA

*Once again Ali Ababwa started off by using his technical knowledge to his advantage and trying to mock Bodydrop*

*However Bodydrop, unlike Eviscerator, didn't lose his cool*

*The fact that these two men have faced off before was plain to see...*

*...but it looked like Ali Ababwa finally had the match won when he slapped Bodydrop in the Camel Clutch*

*But then Eviscerator lumbered his way to the ring*

*Ababwa dropped Bodydrop, jumped out of the ring and took the fight to Eviscerator*

*The ref finished a 10 count and as Bodydrop finally got to his feet the ref called for the bell

JACK BODYDROP wins via countout (8:04)

Reviewers Thoughts:
At first the crowd were pretty hot for this match but as it went on I got the feeling that quite a few people felt uncomfortable with the level of violence the two men were throwing at each other. Pretty sure this isn't the last time these guys will face off this tour, but I hope next time they keep in crowd appropriate

GRADE: E+

EVISCERATOR & ABABWA BRAWL

After the match the two men continued to brawl until security broke them up.

Reviewers Thoughts:
A really good brawl between these two guys, the lack of weapons this time seemed to please the crowd more

MAIN EVENT MATCH for the GAW WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE

JACK AMERICA vs 'Dr Texas' TERRY RAPADA

*This match was an instant classic!*

*Jack America actually spent the first half of the match in control, with Rapada retreating to the outside a few times of regroup*

*The last time Jack followed him to the outside and chased him around the ring...*

*...but the veteran slid into the ring, America followed and got a face full of boot for his efforts*

*Jack never really recovered from that and Rapada finally put America away with a Texas Death Drop
(Stalling flapjack)
to retain his title*

TERRY RAPADA wins via pinfall to retain the GAW WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE (11:36)

Reviewers Thoughts:
WOW! Match of the night for sure, I would even say match of the tour so far. Rapada showed why he's the champ and Jack America proved that, one day, he
will
be one of the legends in this business!

GRADE: C

OVERALL THOUGHTS

A pretty damn good show actually! Jack America sure is making things feel like we're back in the 80s/90s. As I said, in my eyes, putting the title on Rapada was completely vindicated this show.

GAW FALLOUT - THE ARTIST TONY CHI AND MORE

FEBRUARY 11TH 2012

So, the second show from Golden Age Wrestling is over and it was if anything an improvement on the first! Here is some backstage gossip from it:

THE ARTIST TONY CHI

http://img827.imageshack.us/img827/8234/tonychi.jpg

Our sources tell us that Tony Chi made quite a few friends in the lockeroom on the last GAW show when he began doing manga style drawings of his fellow wrestlers before the show. Word has it that Chi's version of Crash & Burn were particularly good, to the point where they are now the profile picture on their facebook page!

RUDY WOWS ON THE MIC

http://img849.imageshack.us/img849/9866/rudysingle.jpg

Having now watched the webcast I can confirm that Rudy Single is fantastic in the colour commentary position, its almost like he was made for the job! In fact, sources tell us that in fact Single isn't really that happy about being in the ring full time and he would rather actually be at the announce desk. But Jack America has apparently assured Single that in a tour or two's time, when he has given some guys the rub, that Rudy will be given the retirement, and the send off, that he truly deserves.

GORDON WATTS HAPPY

http://imageshack.us/a/img341/903/gordonwatts.jpg

Gordon Watts is reportedly over the moon with how things are going so far with Jack America in charge of the book. He has, apparently, passed it down that he would like to see a few more guys on the roster though! We'll bring you more on that as news comes in.

********************

And that's all the GAW news we have for you for now, but rest assured we'll have the card up for next week's show just as soon as it's posted on goldenagewrestling.com. Till next time,

GOLDEN AGE WRESTLING COMES TO NEW JERSEY

FEBRUARY 17TH 2012

OPEN CHALLENGE

THE STRONGMAN vs ???

The Ringmaster, on The Strongman's behalf, has challenged anyone from the GAW roster to a match at the next show, but at the time of writing no-one has stepped forward to accept the challenge...

YET ANOTHER FIRST

http://img225.imageshack.us/img225/1651/eviscerator.jpghttp://i754.photobucket.com/albums/xx181/jhdTEW/AWF%20Diary/Cards/VS.jpghttp://img849.imageshack.us/img849/9866/rudysingle.jpg

EVISCERATOR vs
'All Man'
RUDY SINGLE

In another first RAWA Legend 'All Man' Rudy Single will face off against the man-mountain that is Eviscerator. GAW management have ruled that if Eviscerator & Ali Ababwa interfere in each other's matches on this show both men will be dropped from the tour, so Single may just have his work cut out for him this show!

THE WOODCUTTERS ©

(Lumber Jack & Yukon Jacques)

vs

THE FLYING BULLETS

(B. Brian Browne & Blair Brunzell)

After their easy win over The Pan-Pacific Express last show this time around The Woodcutters will be facing a fellow legendary tag team, The Flying Bullets. These two teams faced off many times in the early and mid 90s, with both teams having successfully defended titles against the other in the past. Is it The Flying Bullets' time to shine once again or can The Woodcutters keep hold of their titles for another show?

LEGENDARY TEAMS COLLIDE

THE MOONSHINERS

(Billy Ray & Lee Earl)

vs

THE DEVASTATORS

(Juggernaut & Monstrosity)

This match has come about due to an arguement between Billy Ray & Juggernaut after last week's show. Juggernaut overheard Billy Ray telling José Ángel Garcés that The Devastators were washed-up and that's why they're only been in handicap matches, they couldn't handle a real team like The Moonshiners. Juggernaut confronted Billy Ray and told him that The Moonshiners were welcome to 'come an have a go... if they've got the balls!'.

JACK BODYDROP vs
'The Big Cahoona'
KAY PASA

With both men coming off a win last show they have been selected to duke in out to see which of them will face the GAW World Heavyweight Champion, whoever it may be, in the Main Event of the final show of the tour.

MAIN EVENT MATCH for the GAW WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE

'Dr Texas'
TERRY RAPADA © vs
'The Iron Skeik'
ALI ABABWA

With Terry Rapada's open challenge still open the next man to step up is Ali Ababwa. These two men have faced off all over the world, and with the guarantee that Eviscerator will not interfere in the match-up Ababwa should be feeling confident. Ababwa has had more victories over Rapada over the years than Rapada has over the Sheik but the pair have never faced off for a title before, and 'Dr Texas' is not known for going down easy when there is gold on the line!

*PLUS THE REST OF THE GAW LEGENDS WILL ALSO BE IN ACTION!*

I'll be at the THE WESTON GYMNASIUM, NEW JERSEY on WEDNESDAY 17TH FEBRUARY for Golden Age Wrestling's third show out of New Jersey, will you?

THE STRONGMAN vs Kenny Foreman (Extra point for a correct guess)

Looking at who´s left it´s either Jack American, Crash, Burn or jobber who will be facing Strongman. I guess it will be either Jack or a jobber and I go with a jobber since Strongman could be used as typical monster heel and he needs an occasional win in order to be effective in that role.

EVISCERATOR vs RUDY SINGLE

Rudy has already proven that he can have good matches, while Eviscerator haven´t even got D- rating on his matches so far.

THE WOODCUTTERS vs THE FLYING BULLETS

Woodcutters just won the tag titles so they aren´t losing them yet. The finish won´t likely be a clean one though so that Flying Bullets can have a re-match on later date.

THE MOONSHINERS vs THE DEVASTATORS

Devastators have been winning so far (and have had better ratings) but those were 2 vs. 1 matches and opponents weren´t top names either so I won´t put much weight on that. I think that Moonshiners should win this one partly because Devastators are only semi-active and partly because you have only two heel teams while there seems to be at least five face teams.

JACK BODYDROP vs KAY PASA

Hmmm, this one is quite hard for me to figure out. Jack had a great match against Rudy in the losing effort at the first show and he hasn´t looked that strong with loss and count out win (against a good opponent though) so far, but Pasa has a loss (in title match) and win over jobber so I´d say that they are quite even right now. I give the edge on Jack mainly because that great much against Rudy even though that poor match with Ababwa hurted his stock a little bit in my eyes.

TERRY RAPADA vs ALI ABABWA

Too early for a title change and Ababwa has other things (Eviscerator) to worry about. I wouldn´t be suprised if Ali and Eviscerator interfere in each other´s matches either.

THE STRONGMAN vs Kenny Foreman (Extra point for a correct guess)

Even before I saw Zergon's pick, I had Foreman in mind- for the exact same reason that he gave- honest :D

EVISCERATOR vs RUDY SINGLE

Single's clearly getting that one big final push before retirement, and as Zergon said he's getting decent ratings (at this level) for his matches, whilst Eviscerator's matches have tended to suck- though alot of that has to do with the fact that neither him or Ali Ababawa have been audience savvy. GAW audience of Grannies and Kids don't actually want to see real violence :p

THE WOODCUTTERS vs THE FLYING BULLETS

Don't see the Woodcutters reign getting cut short this early.

THE MOONSHINERS vs THE DEVASTATORS

The reason there so many face teams, is that the heel champs need plenty of face teams to defend against right now. Devastators may only be semi-active, but they've been made to be a big deal and right now they seem to be more active, than semi despite their spot at the commentary table. May as well squeeze every last drop out of them, beofr they are so washed up they really can no longer wrestle....not that GAW's audience would actually notice!

JACK BODYDROP vs KAY PASA

Kay Pasa had his title shot earlier in the tour, so in order to keep things fresh, and I think the bookerman likes keeping things as fresh as he can with the incredibly stale talent that he has to work with :p

TERRY RAPADA vs ALI ABABWA

Rapada will retain no question about that, the bigger question is can these two put on a decent enough match to please their UC (Universal for Children) rating audience- without it sucking.

THE STRONGMAN vs JACK AMERICA (Extra point for a correct guess)

Strong promo (no pun intended) last time out, now comes a win to back it up.

EVISCERATOR vs RUDY SINGLE

Big E is the type of midcard monster that someone like Single should put away without too much trouble.

THE WOODCUTTERS vs THE FLYING BULLETS

Upset without walking away with the belts.

THE MOONSHINERS vs THE DEVASTATORS

Although the composition of your tag ranks make me wonder if I should rethink this one.

JACK BODYDROP vs KAY PASA

Could go either way on this one.

TERRY RAPADA vs ALI ABABWA

Rapada all the way here, although as has been said, how much of a match this will be for the GAW audience remains to be seen.
