I definitely like the fantasy promotion idea, don't think it would need to be a multiplayer game?

What I always find funny about those diaries is the amount of hype people put behind it and they never work. Sure they might last one or two shows but that is usually it. Like you said it is tough getting that amount of people to work together and that is why most of those type of dairies are doomed to fail.

I'm planning my 2016 diary with a custom 2016 promotion (with both default workers and GDS community created workers). What is the result if you mix TWL, SCCW and AAFW with modern influences and also throw in some Clockwork Orange, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Sadistic Clowns, Vincent Van Gross and a couple of spoiled brat kids whose father is a squillionaire from Texas?:D

The only negative to TEW 2016 coming out is how badly I want to start a new diary. <img alt=":p" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

<p>CGC Diary?</p><p> </p><p>

Been a lurker for a very long time, and started up TEW 2013 again juuuuust in time for the announcement of TEW 2016. Been thinking of writing up a narrative about an angle for Canadian Golden Combat, where Trent Shaffer creates a new stable based on the idea of being sick and tired of the Elite and the DeColts hogging all the spotlight (I admit I have been riding that feud <strong>hard</strong> to get ratings). This new stable forces the DeColt family and the Elite to do an enemy mine and come together to fight off this upstart threat. I'm thinking of setting it up to be nearly a year's run, from the ending of the DeColt WrestleFestival's Day 2 through to the next year's DeColt WrestleFestival Day 2. Wouldn't hotshot directly into the feud, probably wait until the In the Company of Legends PPV for things to really get hot.</p><p> </p><p>

Would anyone have any interest in this diary? Or is TEW 2016 being the new hotness (I mean that seriously, I am stoked for it to come out) mean that I ought to wait and do my first diary once it's out?</p>

I'd go for the diary just now if you've got ideas that you're wanting to get out. I dig the hook you've got with Shaffer rising up and forcing a collaboration between DeColt and Elite.

What is a reasonable posting schedule for a diary? I play, and write, fairly quickly. I could do one a day most weekdays, honestly, maybe more on a weekend day. That said, I don't want to spam the forums. Nor do I want to lose anyone who might want to follow but feels crushed by a tsunami of posts. What do you all think I should do?

I feel like a show every other day is a good pace. Maybe even every 2 days.

The people who used to do stuff like the twenty-four hour warnings or the ones who used to reply to each post individually are the people that I would consider to be spammers. An actual update should never be considered spam.</p>

I recommend playing and writing at whatever schedule is fun for you. That's the first important thing about the diary. If you don't enjoy it, you've just taken on a job for no pay. Then your concerns about the audience take root. I think it's fine to update a little more frequently at the start, because you need to establish that you're writing something consistently. Once there's double-digits of posts, the diary might need to slow up a bit (depending on how much you put in each post). To square that circle, don't write directly to the forums and if you get ahead of what you're sharing, so be it. I don't think it hurts your credibility to say, "I've played ahead of this," (probably the opposite is true) and having a backlog means that if you get pressed for time or enthusiasm you can maintain a regular posting schedule. Good luck!

Thanks everyone! I appreciate all the advice and perspectives. I had a lot of time over the last week which I don't think I'll have quite as much, so I think the posting schedule is probably going to be something every 2-3 days from here on in.

Good point about not making it a job, BMS - I've got so many games of TEW 2013 I started and found not being able to share with other people what was going on and geeking out about it with other people definitely resulted in a lot of games getting abandoned. But if it felt like a job it'd definitely also not be fun to do any more. I've also taken your advice before you gave it, and have played out ahead. I keep notes after every show, so I don't lose anything, which means I get around to writing when I can.

There are a lot of really interesting diaries running right now. I hope you all don't mind me doing what any good wrestler does, which is steal the crap out of great stuff other people are doing and make it my own :D I just wanted to give the shout out and thanks here because I've already definitely lifted things here and there from the people on this forum who are damned good at these diaries!

WWE Post-Wrestlemania Diary: Captain Creative

Hey guys! I'm finishing plans for my first diary -- set to release the week following this Sunday's Wrestlemania.

Style: The working title is -- WWE: Captain Creative. The focus of the writing will be a blend of short form story telling, video editing to add visual flare, and reader influence through helping make some creative decisions.

Timeline: I'll be booking Monday Night Raw and SD exclusively, beginning with the night after Wrestlemania. I intend to work more with the current WWE/NXT Talent, with only a few immediate acquisitions.

Background: Christian Cage will be booking Raw, opposite to Jimmy Jacobs on Smackdown.

Story: The first night of Raw will feature a draft for a Raw/SD brand split, much like the original back in 2002. This post will be supplemented with videos of lottery drafts I've edited together. -- and we go from there.

Any advice people have for running a smooth diary would be much appreciated!

OOC:</p><p> </p><p>

So my plan for my first game of 2016 is incredibly convoluted, but it'll come about sometime after the release and I've got to grips with the new game, but its something I wanted to just give a teaser for now of things to come.</p><p> </p><p>

Basically, I want to enter the wacky world of POW and give audiences a chance to be within a universe within a universe within a universe, POW-ception.</p><p> </p><p>

The character Edd Stone (who I will be working as my Avatar) will be played by an actor with Edd Stone's mannerisms, look and with a penchant for his skills but nowhere near the actual level of a Stone. The idea for the storyline "What's in his Edd?" is that TEW has a sponsorship deal in place with POW because it would be ideally promoted to a company's fans like POW that like being out there and making their own creation. So the C-Verse isn't real, Edd Stone isn't, but POW is, TEW is and the guy playing the Edd Stone character is. In order for Edd Stone to find his way back into his videogame (which in diary form will have an update where Stone is out of the business) it will require all the skill of The POWer Plant to help him, with of course the usual bad guys along the way to stop him as people try to find the answers to the Edd Stone mystery.</p><p> </p><p>

Yes, Dissertations are bogging me down.</p>

Okay so I've been batting about a few ideas for TEW 2016 and ever since the reveal of its creation, I've been steadily thinking of ideas. My original idea was CGC, a company I had rarely explored before but one I constantly found fun in the 2 playthroughs I have had of it. I got started right away on graphics and gimmick ideas, just to keep me busy. Unfortunately, that fell through when I realised that I didn't know CGC's roster, so any 2016 diary is out. Then I thought why not restart my East Coast Wars diary? Again, that fell through due to the fact that I had literally just had a game in 97 with DAVE getting them to Cult, so I didn't want to go back into that roster again as I was already quite sick of the roster I had built up in the game. Then I decided that I definitely wanted to a DAVE diary. Why? That's my bread and butter really, hence my username. It was just about picking a year. 1997 was a no no, at least for now. 2005 was an option. Didn't pick that though. I decided to go with this. This has everything I personally want in a diary and I think the story writes itself. I also feel it would be criminal for me not to do a successful DAVE diary, the company DAVE is the reason I'm on the forums. Feel free to give feedback on this as I'm not sure if this is what I want to do.

The date, January 1st 2007, I looked down at the books to see more money bleeding out of our pockets. We were still in the black, but only just. I never thought we'd get to this point. We had been so successful for years that we money in reserves for awhile, but not anymore. We even had to change up the schedule a bit so that we knew we had the money to actually hold an event, Back in Black was scheduled for tonight, but we knew we needed to move it back. We were in trouble and not just financially. We were losing stars. Guys like Kurt Laramee, Bryan Holmes and Doug Peak all decided to leave us, they are big losses but it wasn't just that. We were being constantly raided, that's nothing new, it was the injuries that were just as devastating. When you have two of your top main eventers out on the shelf you know you have problems. Hopefully we'd get them back soon but we even had problems in the midcard as well. That's four significant injuries going into 2007, Big Cat Brandon, Eric Tyler, Johnny Martin and Vin Tanner. What's worse was due to these injuries our roster was depleted, it was too small. We needed to make signings to pad out the roster. Sure that doesn't seem too bad, but offering contracts to people when you already know you were struggling for money, that's never a good business move. No, I wasn't going to let this happen, DAVE was my company. I wasn't going to let it die, it was time to bring in the big guns...

Yeah John, take a seat. I need you to do me a favour.....

DAVE: Never say Die (C-Verse 2007)

Now I will admit that the title is definitely a work in progress but I'll get there. There is a few starting "Rules" I have set for myself, well more criteria than rules. I can disclose these now if you wish but I just wanted to put this out there to get some feedback.

I tried a DAVE 2007 game once and it's something that always interests me, so this should be good. It reminds me (despite the companies differences) of WCW 2001, in terms of where most other "historical" games are rewriting a history, this is more telling a history that never happened (due to the company going out of business). A what if scenario with DAVE would be really cool.

Is there any 'talk' of a C-Verse 2007 mod? (Was there one for 2013?). I only ask because I did it for (I think TEW 2010) and have been thinking about it recently, so I would be happy to help out if anybody is looking to do it.
