WLW Universal Champion – “The Sex Machinegun” Magnum Kobe

Magnum Kobe, who recently started calling himself “The Sex Machinegun”, is the current WLW Universal Champion and one of the two standout stars of the company. Kobe is not well liked by the WLW fans (his new nickname certainly hasn’t helped matters on that front) as while he is obviously talented, he knows it. He also has a particularly murky past (being a key member of both the original Circle of Blood stable and the offshoot Red Guild), and a seemingly eternal rivalry with Emerald Angel.

WLW Modern Japan Champion – “The Satanic Simian” Hell Monkey

Hell Monkey is a WLW stalwart who has won every title WLW have ever introduced, except for the Universal and Tapout titles. His tag team with company ace Emerald Angel is always a favourite with the fans, and it is that partnership that has seen him become one of the foremost fighters in the company. The goofy mask is only worn for entrances; once in the ring Monkey is both deadly and serious about his wrestling, with brutal strikes and holds that would make him a match for anyone in Japan. Along with his partner, he is a member of the Def-REALM faction.

WLW Tag Team Champions – The Circle Of Blood

Originally, the Circle of Blood was an occult faction lead by Dark Eagle and Koki Ishibashi and including a young Magnum Kobe and the now-blackballed Incredible Koyama. After the first disbanded, “The Blood Raven” Ketsueki Karasu set up a new Circle of Blood, which included Koji Kojima’s young protégé Nichiten Amagawa. When Karasu left the company to return home to Mexico, Dark EAGLE and Amagawa took the name for themselves and continued as a successful duo, winning the tag team titles last September.

http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c297/HeavyMetalJesus/WLW/AngelDR.jpg

Emerald Angel

Emerald Angel, a former 4-time WLW Universal Champion, former 2-time WLW Tag Team Champion with partner Hell Monkey, and also a former Show Stealer Champion before that belt was unified with the Modern Japan title, is one of the company’s brightest stars and one of the founding members of the Def-REALM faction, set up to protect the company against those who would do it harm. His blood-feud with Magnum Kobe has been one of the highlights of the last few years, and doesn’t show any signs of stopping. Recently he has been so consumed by regaining his title that matters with Black House Nation seem to have escaped his notice.

http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c297/HeavyMetalJesus/WLW/HisatoDR.jpg

The Great Hisato

The Great Hisato, a member of Def-REALM, is a veteran high flier who has been with the company for nearly 15 years. Hisato has proven himself popular with the fans for his mysterious – though always good-natured – countenance and high-risk style. He is a former three-time WLW Tag Team Champion, two-time Universal Champion and also a former BHOTWG Burning Junior Champion (the only current WLW star to have won a Burning Championship).

http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c297/HeavyMetalJesus/WLW/YosukeNarita.jpg

Yosuke Narita

Formerly the masked Awesome Thunder, Yosuke Narita has gone bad since losing the mask to Magnum Kobe in 2009. Having won the Universal Title a staggering seven times. Narita (along with Kojima, Ishibashi and Hisato) has been with WLW since it’s inception in late 2000. Now 47, the legendary Narita is still a capable wrestler, and is the target of many a young up-and-comer in WLW. Recently however he’s become the target of The Great Hisato also, who is unhappy with Narita’s decision not to take a side in the war that has been raging for years, going as far as to state that joining EITHER side would be preferable to sitting on the fence.

http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c297/HeavyMetalJesus/WLW/WLWbannersm.jpg

http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c297/HeavyMetalJesus/WLW/NaratoBHN.jpghttp://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c297/HeavyMetalJesus/WLW/MaitaBHN.jpg

Black House

Known collectively as Black House, Kazuma Narato and Mokuami Maita are the co-founders of Black House Nation, a faction in WLW who are constantly trying to “destroy” the promotion, injuring the wrestlers, defacing any titles they can get their hands on, and generally causing mayhem. The pair are two-time tag team champions together, and are two of the most hated men in the company.

http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c297/HeavyMetalJesus/WLW/IshibashiDR.jpghttp://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c297/HeavyMetalJesus/WLW/KojimaDR.jpg

Unity Two

Former tag team champions Unity Two, best friends Koji Kojima (WLW’s founder) and Koki Ishibashi are the core members of Def-REALM, the group set up in 2009 by Emerald Angel to combat the evil forces at work within the company (which at the time included the Red Guild and New Circle of Blood in addition to Black House Nation).

http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c297/HeavyMetalJesus/WLW/Acid505.jpghttp://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c297/HeavyMetalJesus/WLW/Dragon505.jpg

Acid Dragon

Acid and UK Dragon, known together as Acid Dragon, are a successful tag team in WLW having won the tag team titles twice. Both are members of The 505 group, and are both successful wrestlers in their own right, being two-time Tapout Champion (Dragon) and one time Show Stealer and Street Fighting champion (Acid).

http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c297/HeavyMetalJesus/WLW/Americana505.jpghttp://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c297/HeavyMetalJesus/WLW/Machine505.jpg

American Machine

Like their stablemates, Americana and Insane Machine are former tag team champions too (though only once). They have stopped teaming together with such regularity recently as Insane Machine has been behaving increasingly erratically in the ring, and isn’t considered a reliable partner.

http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c297/HeavyMetalJesus/WLW/WLWbannersm.jpg

http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c297/HeavyMetalJesus/WLW/MatsuoBHN.jpg

Rogue Matsuo SF

Matsuo is a "special forces operative" of the Black House Nation, who formerly partnered Toyokuni Hardcore in General Hayashi's WLW Special Forces tag team. It's usually Matsuo who the faction turn to when their dirty work needs doing, although his schemes are usually foiled by the idiocy of General Hayashi, who is technically Matsuo's manager.

http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c297/HeavyMetalJesus/WLW/SPEEDD.jpghttp://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c297/HeavyMetalJesus/WLW/Hypnos.jpg

VILLAINS

VILLAINS (whose name made more sense when both members of HEROES were on the roster, but is still quite apt) are SPEED D and Hypnos, two tricksy and mean-spirited wrestlers who have proven very unpopular with the fans for their nefarious antics in the wrestling ring.

http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c297/HeavyMetalJesus/WLW/WLWbannersm.jpg

http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c297/HeavyMetalJesus/WLW/PandaMask.jpg

Panda Mask II

The young Panda Mask II has worked for WLW almost since his debut as a wrestler, and over the 6 years since he has become a favourite with the WLW faithful because of his furry mask and lovable characterisation, but this has somewhat obscured the fact that in the ring he is fast becoming a force to be reckoned with and he had a short WLW Streetfighter title reign to his name before the title was unified with the Modern Japan title and lost to him.

http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c297/HeavyMetalJesus/WLW/WLWbannersm.jpg

http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c297/HeavyMetalJesus/WLW/Tic505.jpg

The Tic

Tiny grappler The Tic has is a fan favourite for his underdog antics, and also a member of the group 505. His long service with WLW has brought him many fans, but not much success, with only a Tap Out title to his name.

http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c297/HeavyMetalJesus/WLW/WLWbannersm.jpg

http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c297/HeavyMetalJesus/WLW/Akio.jpghttp://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c297/HeavyMetalJesus/WLW/MasaKurata.jpg

Youngsters Akio and Masa Kurata are recent additions to the WLW roster. Trained by WLW’s Arkham School dojo, they graduated a year apart (Kurata being the earlier graduate) and have spent the last few years learning their craft. Although not an experienced tag team, they often find themselves involved in trios matches, particularly when Panda Mask II needs support.

http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c297/HeavyMetalJesus/WLW/WLWbannersm.jpg

http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c297/HeavyMetalJesus/WLW/MiwaBHN.jpg

Mr Akahito Miwa started off on WLW's first show as their sole announcer (and later 'broadcast analyst', 'backstage interviewer' and even occasionally a reluctant wrestler). More recently however he's made a name for himself as a manger and 'legal administrator' of unpopular rule-breakers, most recently the Black House duo of Narato and Maita. If there's trouble and strife in WLW, Mr. Miwa is usually coordinating it and getting his clients out of trouble.

http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c297/HeavyMetalJesus/WLW/WLWbannersm.jpg

http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c297/HeavyMetalJesus/WLW/GeneralHayashi.jpg

General Hayashi came to WLW with his "WLW Special Forces" team (comprised of Rogue Matsuo SF and Toyokuni Hardcore). He is well known as being a largely unwanted presence at ringside, usually causing more harm than good. He fancies himself as a bit of a Napolean Bonaparte, but in reality he often just confuses his clients and gets in their way. He is infamous for once accidentally becoming WLW Streetfighting Champion (for all of 15 minutes) after accidentally pinning his own client during a free-for-all match. He is technically contracted as Rogue Matsuo's manager, but Matsuo (and especially Black House Nation as a whole) try to pretend he isn't.

WLW – Factions

Black House Nation

http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c297/HeavyMetalJesus/WLW/BHN.jpg

http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c297/HeavyMetalJesus/WLW/NaratoBHN.jpghttp://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c297/HeavyMetalJesus/WLW/MaitaBHN.jpghttp://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c297/HeavyMetalJesus/WLW/MatsuoBHN.jpghttp://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c297/HeavyMetalJesus/WLW/MiwaBHN.jpg

Kazuma Narato - Mokuami Maita - Rogue Matsuo SF - Mr. Akahito Miwa

Brought together by the Black House duo of Kazuma Narato and Mokuami Maita in the summer of 2008, the Black House Nation is devoted to 'destroying' WLW, targeting the company's owners and most important stars in an attempt to cripple the company. Manager Akahito Miwa is not thought to be the group's leader, he seems to act mostly as the group's spokesman.

Although initially quite successful in their cause - the duo have won the Tag Team Championships three times and each time threatened to belittle them in some way (including once trying to sell them on an online auction site) - so far they haven't managed the dominance or destruction they'd hoped for, and haven't been able to capture the Universal title (although they were responsible for Magnum Kobe's initial title win over hated nemesis Emerald Angel, he stubbornly refused to join their cause afterwards). They also suffered a setback quite recently when Rogue Matsuo's tag team partner Toyokuni Hardcore quit the company in disgrace after failing to regain the now-retired Streetfighting Title from Panda Mask II.

http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c297/HeavyMetalJesus/WLW/WLWbannersm.jpg

Def-REALM

http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c297/HeavyMetalJesus/WLW/DR.jpg

http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c297/HeavyMetalJesus/WLW/AngelDR.jpghttp://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c297/HeavyMetalJesus/WLW/KojimaDR.jpghttp://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c297/HeavyMetalJesus/WLW/IshibashiDR.jpghttp://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c297/HeavyMetalJesus/WLW/HisatoDR.jpghttp://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c297/HeavyMetalJesus/WLW/MonkeyDR.jpg

Emerald Angel - Koji Kojima - Koki Ishibashi - The Great Hisato - Hell Monkey

Def-REALM are the group founded by then-Universal Champion Emerald Angel as an organised response to the Black House Nation and Red Guild (the latter being a stable lead by Silver Shark, full of nefarious evil-doers from the original Circle of Blood faction). Although some may point to WLW's continued existence as evidence of their success, and more still point to the fact that both singles champions are members, the group itself has been fractured lately, with Emerald Angel's energy being channelled into defeating nemesis Magnum Kobe and less on the bigger picture. The group's core - multiple-time former tag team champions Unity Two (consisting of WLW founder Koji Kojima and his best friend Koki Ishibashi) - is rock solid, however. Modern Japan champion Hell Monkey has not had much to say about his sometimes tag team partner Emerald Angel's recent actions so far.

The 505

http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c297/HeavyMetalJesus/WLW/505.jpg

http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c297/HeavyMetalJesus/WLW/Acid505.jpghttp://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c297/HeavyMetalJesus/WLW/Dragon505.jpghttp://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c297/HeavyMetalJesus/WLW/Americana505.jpghttp://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c297/HeavyMetalJesus/WLW/Machine505.jpghttp://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c297/HeavyMetalJesus/WLW/Tic505.jpg

Acid - UK Dragon - Americana - Insane Machine - The Tic

The 505 (nobody is really sure what the significance of that number is) is a faction of "gaijin" workers. Although the stable's imagery uses a silhouette of North America, UK Dragon has been part of the stable since it's inception. There doesn't seem to be much organisation or unified mission statement or goal the members have, they just hang out together after shows. All members except The Tic regularly tag with other members, and they often form trios teams.

WLW – Staff

Isei Deushi - Taka Kajiwara

WLW Broadcast Team

Deushi and Kajiwara have been together at the WLW announce booth since the company started producing DVDs in 2003. The entertaining duo's quips and potshots are a constant source of entertainment, though when things get serious in the ring the commentary soon follows suit. Kajiwara, while mainly impartial, has on occasion acted as a manager for several WLW talents in the past. Deushi's comments are often biased towards the less popular or honorable workers; often purely to antagonise Taka, although he is always an outspoken apologist for the tactics of Magnum Kobe and believes that Yosuke Narita's legendary status means he can do no wrong.

http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c297/HeavyMetalJesus/WLW/KitahachiSonoda.jpg

Kitahachi Sonoda

WLW's Head Referee

Kitahachi Sonada has been WLW's head official since 2003. He insists on calling himself "head official", despite the fact that Yoson Nakata was fired for - in Koji Kojima's words "being corrupt as all of hell and most of Korea" - in early 2012 after subtly (and later less subtly) aiding Black House Nation in matches. Sonoda himself is as straight as a kendo stick.

I love WLW

I'm here for Panda Mask II

Running USPW has been really fun so far, but I am going to really miss all of my favorite cruisers like Panda Mask II. Though if I was running a different type of company I don't think Derek and D-Lyrium would like me too much. ;)

Can't wait for more from WLW!

WLW.com Video Blog – Koji Kojima

Posted: Tuesday, Week 1, January 2013.

http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c297/HeavyMetalJesus/WLW/KojimaDR.jpg

In a sparsely-decorated room backstage at WLW’s Time & Space event, a battered-looking Koji Kojima is sat on a bench, isolated pockets of facepaint clinging valiantly to his sweat-covered face as the masked Koki Ishibashi looks on wordlessly from the edge of the shot.

Narato, Maita, you’ve been around here now for five years, proclaiming the death of WLW. For five long years you’ve tried to kill my company. For five long years, my company has endured.

We’ve endured the Red Guild, and forced Silver Shark out of the company. We’ve broken the Circle of Blood, and smashed their reincarnation too. They’ve gone from a large faction terrorising the roster, to a tag team... terrorising the roster.” Troubled, he glanced to his partner. “Someday, we must work on that, my friend, and regain not only order, but also the tag team championships."

Ishibashi nodded his agreement, and Kojima turned back to the camera and continued, “but there are regrettably bigger fish to fry at the moment: Black House. Still you insist on waging your war, Narato. It’s a war you cannot win. It’s a war you WILL not win. Toyokuni saw that, he bailed on you. Why can’t the rest of you see it too?

On January 11th*, WLW will return to Aizu-Wakamatsu to hold an event called Fame & Glory, which is portentous because those are two things which will be forever kept from your grasp while you persist with your ‘Black House Nation’ and this silly 'civil war'. In the shadow of Mount Bandai, once again Koki and I are set to do battle with you, but this will be the last time! Fail here, and your rabble of petty dissonance will be cast from my company, barred from our events, and struck from the records! At Fame & Glory, this charade will end!

Emerald Angel, it seems, is too caught up in his own personal battles to much care what happens to his allegedly-beloved employers, but it is of little consequence. We have thousands of WLW fans united behind our cause! United we are strong!

(* I've decided to use dates in promos, purely for reasons of flow and brevity. Friday, Week 2, January would sound weird spoken in a promo.)

WLW.com Video Blog – Emerald Angel

Posted: Wednesday, Week 1, January 2013.

http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c297/HeavyMetalJesus/WLW/AngelDR.jpg

In a snow-covered car park in late afternoon, Emerald Angel stands defiantly in his wrestling gear (fortunately for him, he wears gloves in the ring) and addresses the camera.

"United we are strong. That's the company line. That's what they say when THEY are united to THEIR common cause. What they don't realise is, a fish rots from the head down. I happen to be at the head of this particular fish, Koji, and I don't intend to rot!

"You see, that little degenerate Bishōnen with the blood red hair has my title. Our title. The company's title. And while that is the case, this 'war' with Black House is petty and insignificant. If the general is bought, the army is lost. You will forgive me in time, I'm sure. Once that title is again mine, united we will be strong. But now our banner is in the mud, trampled into the mire. I intend to get it back. Unity Two fight valiantly, nobody can deny your spirit, but while you're off fighting your petty skirmishes, I'm trying to win us the war.

"Kobe. I'll see you next week. I intend to recover our standard. Our championship. Our company!"

WLW.com Video Blog – The Great Hisato

Posted: Saturday, Week 1, January 2013.

http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c297/HeavyMetalJesus/WLW/HisatoDR.jpg

In an otherwise anonymous-looking room, Hisato is stood in front of a def-REALM wall hanging, addressing the camera.

"Yosuke, I don't... understand. You've been around just as long as I have; since the birth of this company. Before that, we walked the Burning Path together, following the legendary Elemental and Optimus in proving that you didn't have to be a hard-hitting heavyweight to do so.

"So you'll forgive me for being unable to understand why you continue to sit on the fence. Can you not see we're in the middle of a war? You say you're not aligned with the Black House Nation. You say you condemn their tactics and values. Yet you refuse to help us. We are the defenders of the realm! The World Level Wrestling guardians. We are the WLW sekigun.

"Magnum KOBE cannot be trusted, that is obvious. I mean, look at the guy. The Circle of Blood have always had their own agenda, and the 505 have no reason to care either way. We want nothing to do with VILLAINS. But you...? Why is it that you, old friend, continue to pretend this isn't something you need to be concerned with?

"At Power & Glory, I will meet you in the ring. I will show you the power of def-REALM personally. I will do what Kazuma Narato couldn't do last month, and defeat you personally. If you are waiting to see which side will win this war, I will show you next Friday night. It will be us. And you're either with us, or against us."

Fire.

It's a beautiful thing.

Most deadly in the wrong hands. Most fascinating.

Nobody understands fire like you do, UK Dragon. For you are a dragon, so I've been lead to believe.

Nobody except me, perhaps.

VILLAINS were lost. Stranded with no direction. No HEROES with which to do battle. What they needed was an inner fire. A daemon spirit. They needed Onibi. And Onibi needed them.

So next week, bring your fire. Bring your mysterious friend with the low power of hydrogen. My VILLAINS will be ready and waiting.

Hiroshima Sports Park, Chugoku (Super No Vacancy Full House)

In the ring, Taka Kajiwara welcomes the 2,000 fans to the packed Hiroshima Sports Park, and quickly runs down the confirmed card for tonight's action before joining his broadcast colleague at the announce table as The Great Hisato's entrance theme starts.

http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c297/HeavyMetalJesus/WLW/WLWbannersm.jpg

http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c297/HeavyMetalJesus/WLW/HisatoDR.jpg vs.http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c297/HeavyMetalJesus/WLW/YosukeNarita.jpg

The Great Hisato vs. Yosuke Narita

Hisato, a loyal if somewhat whimsical member of def-REALM, has clearly been sent out to prove to Yosuke Narita that they have the ability and spirit to take the fight to Black House Nation once and for all, and have made it very clear in recent weeks that Narita can either join them, or be destroyed along with them. Hisato’s approach to this was to try and ground Narita, and beat him at his own game. Yosuke has always been the technically superior of the two, while Hisato preferred the aerial approach, but in this match Hisato took a far more grounded, mat-based approached than usual, which almost cost him several times as Narita was able to gain the upper hand.

However, this just caused Hisato to return to his tried and tested aerial assault, and in the end, after a fantastic and hotly contested match which included Narita getting an extremely close two-and-three-quarters count with a Thunder Driver, Hisato was able to eke out the victory with a the Mystic Dragon Wave (roll-through Tiger Suplex).

After the match, Hisato tentatively extends a hand to his foe to help him to his feet. Narita accepts, and an uneasy handshake occurs, to the approval of the Hiroshima crowd. Hisato raises Narita's hand briefly before he pulls it away, and the pair exit the arena seemingly if not on the same page, then at least in the same library.

VILLAINS w/??? vs. Acid Dragon

SPEED D’s cool new mask seems to have given him a new lease of life in WLW of late, and he paired with partner Hypnos again here in a very good match. The ace up their sleeve was a mysterious new manager, with a cool firey, lizard themed mask. He hasn’t been named yet, but is built more like a lightweight wrestler than a non-wrestling manager, so he may have a role to play in the ring. He certainly had a role to play in the match, which was first noted when UK Dragon found himself unable to do his cool fire-breathing entrance at the start of the match, despite several attempts.

Having lost his fire, Dragon sulked on the apron for a large portion of the beginning of the match, letting Acid do most of the work for his team. Eventually Acid was able to get a hot tag, but due mostly to cheap tactics and double-teaming, Dragon was never able to do much damage to the invigorated VILLAINS. Then something strange happened, as Onibi climbed on to the apron next to Hypnos and whispered something in his ear. With a shout to SPEED D, Dragon was dragged over to the VILLAINS corner and slapped around a bit by the mysterious manager, who was yelling at him to look into Hypnos’ eye. Doing so, with a little help from SPEED D who forced his head upright, Dragon soon came fell into a trance-like state, and despite Acid eventually attacked D from behind, Dragon slumped to the mat unresponsive. With Acid cleared from the ring (as he wasn’t the legal man), the pinfall was academic for SPEED D, and the shocked crowd voiced their displeasure at the upset.

[C-]

As Dragon lay on the mat in a comatose state, the rudos retreated up the ramp, looking mightily pleased with themselves (although truth be told, the debutante manager looked a little concerned) as Acid tended to his fallen comrade in the ring. After the trio had departed backstage, Insane Machine and Americana joined their 505 friends in the ring to help carry UK Dragon away.

Hell Monkey vs. Rogue Matsuo SF

for the WLW Modern Japan title.

Whether it was the shock of finish to the previous match, or whether this was just a mismatch, for whatever reason the Modern Japan title match fell a little flat this month. Hell Monkey came out of the blocks all guns blazing, like he usually does, with stiff chops and brutal kicks which probably left Matsuo feeling glad he wears a full bodysuit. To be honest this was pretty one-sided, Hell Monkey was always going to win, and did so in just under 15 minutes with a Blunt Force Trauma (high-speed Shining Wizard running from corner to corner).

Circle of Blood vs American Machine

for the WLW Tag Team Titles

A fantastic tag team encounter between the newest incarnation of one of WLW’s oldest factions, and the most experienced combination of their newest. A back-and-forth match, where the young Junior prodigy Amagawa proved superior over the less technically-minded Machine, but Dark EAGLE’s experience gave him the edge over Americana. EAGLE is getting older however, and wasn’t able to keep up the pace for as long as the others, meaning Amagawa had to work harder for the champions. This lead to a near-fall when Amagawa fell victim to a Termination Kick, but EAGLE saved the day, pulling his young apprentice out of the ring and sliding in to take over as the legal man. Shortly afterwards, after Americana unwisely flew to the outside to take Amagawa out, EAGLE hit the Eagle Shock (Ki Krusher) on Machine for the victory.

Unity Two vs. Black House

A great tag encounter, as this matchup usually is. The match started with the technically-minded Koki Ishibashi going against the high flying prowess of Kazuma Narato, and Narato seemed to have the upper hand. The Black House duo managed to keep each other relatively fresh with frequent tags, and grounding Ishibashi in the centre of the ring leaving WLW’s founder powerless to help out. However, later Narato nailed Ishibashi with a Narato Stunner too near the ropes, and Koki was able to escape to the outside. WLW tag team rules thus allowed Kojima to enter the ring and become the legal man, which he duly did and began cleaning house. Narato tried to escape the same way Koki had, but was caught by Kojima and suplexed back into the ring.

Near the 20 minute mark a fight broke out between the corner men for each team, as Mr. Miwa attempted to distract the referee, which drew Hisato’s attention. Standing up for his manager, Rogue Matsuo confronted Hisato, and a shoving match ensued which Hisato won. Thinking the matter settled, the referee turned his attention back to the ring. This meant he missed an epic Blunt Force Trauma as Hell Monkey ran the length of ringside to deliver it to Matsuo who had fallen into the intersection of two guardrails, which drew Kazuma Narato from the apron to help his comrade out. Back in the ring this left Mokuami Maita all alone to suffer a Koji Kutter, which put him away for the three count.

After the match, Unity Two celebrate in the ring, joined by Hisato and Hell Monkey who assist in dragging Narato out of the ring and unceremoniously shoving him up the catwalk towards the exit. The victorious duo lap up the applause from the crowd, before signalling for a microphone. Just as they get one, however...

Aijin 28 hits the PA, signalling the arrival of the one and only Magnum Kobe. The Sex Machinegun makes his way to the ring in a pink leather trenchcoat and shades, Universal title belt around his waist, and snatches the microphone from Kojima.

“Excuse me, but I believe it’s main event time. The midcard went that way,” pointing back up the catwalk and smirking. He then turns his back on Def-REALM and carries on as if they weren’t there.

“See, a main event needs a main eventer, and there are none better than the Badass Bishonen, the Sex Machinegun, and of course the Universal Champion,” he hip-thrusts to emphasise the title belt. “Emerald Angel will be here soon for his regularly scheduled ass-kicking, but for now feel free to bask in the glory of your sexy hero revolution!”

Emerald Angel vs. Magnum Kobe

for the WLW Universal Title

Blissfully the fans don’t get long to bask, as Angel’s music hit soon after to a tremendous ovation. The main event lived up to expectations, as it was a fantastic confrontation between the two paradoxes of WLW; the ostentatious pretty-boy bad guy who gets in the ring and transforms into a brutal death machine, and the understated superstar good guy who gets in the ring and becomes a phenomenally agile showoff.

Kobe spent the early part of the match on the offensive, with vicious kicks and chops, even throwing in a few early submissions to try to soften up Angel’s legs. Whenever Angel tried to gain the upper hand, Kobe was there was a thumb to the eye, or his favourite tactic of feigning a low blow only to follow up with a swift forearm to the head when Angel flinched. Angel weathered the storm well, though, and was always able to avoid the big moves Kobe went for (such as the Kobe Kick, particularly vicious roundhouse kick).

Soon Angel spied a chance to turn things around after Kobe took an infrequent trip to the top rope and missed a diving elbow, and began to take control with his high-impact offence, dropping elbows and legdrop sentons on the fallen champion and starting to turn the tables his way.

The finish came when Angel, for lack of a better term, “matrixed” out of the way of a Kobe Kick, and retaliated with a double-knee facebreaker, which halted Kobe long enough for Angel to drag himself to the corner and pull himself to the top rope, leaping off with the always-popular Angel’s Fury (a 720 splash), marking the 6th time Angel has pulled that move out of the bag (and the third against Magnum Kobe). As with the other six times, there was no kicking out for Kobe, and we have a new champion!

Enjoyed the show. WLW are a company I've never really looked at, but the stables help in getting to know the characters. Disappointed Kobe lost. Heel or no, you defined him really well, pretty much instantly.

Same here about the title. But then again, I'm a Kobe mark and don't really like Emerald Angel cause he's a douche.

Oh, and push the 505! :D

Glad you enjoyed it. :D Don't worry, I'm also a huge Kobe mark as you could probably tell, but for storyline reasons he kinda had to lose the belt there (besides, he's had it for nearly a year). The 505 should feature prominently too as long as they don't all get stolen. :p

WLW.com Video Blog – Black House Nation

Posted: Friday, Week 2, January 2013.

http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c297/HeavyMetalJesus/WLW/MiwaBHN.jpghttp://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c297/HeavyMetalJesus/WLW/NaratoBHN.jpghttp://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c297/HeavyMetalJesus/WLW/MaitaBHN.jpghttp://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c297/HeavyMetalJesus/WLW/MatsuoBHN.jpg

Akahito Miwa is in a locker room backstage, surrounded by the members of Black House Nation, some of whom are battered and bruised after their matches that night. The mood in the dressing room is sombre, but Miwa looks determined, and talks directly to the camera which appears to be a personal hand-held camcorder.

Def-REALM. Kojima. You may have won the battle, but we-“, begins Miwa, before being cut off by Kazuma Narato.

It’s over, Aka. Let it go. You heard what they said. If we lose, Black House Nation is disbanded, or we’re banned from all future events. And we lost, so... I guess that’s it. It’s over. All we fought for, all we believed in...

Behind him, Maita is struggling to conceal a smirk, and Matsuo is clearing his throat to prevent laughter escaping. Eventually even Miwa starts chuckling to himself, and before long Narato can’t even finish his sentence with a straight face. Once he cracks the group erupt into laughter, and the faux-sombre mood is smashed.

It’s no good, guys. I can’t... I can’t...” mutters Narato, between bursts of laughter. Then he turns to the camera directly, addressing the audience and Def-REALM in particular. “You... you actually think that just because big boss Koji says we can’t come to his party in two weeks, we’ll actually listen? What is it about the actions of Black House Nation over the past few years that makes you think we give a crap what you say, or what you think, or even what you do?

The laughter in the background has died down by this point, and Maita and Matsuo have draped themselves casually over the sofa in the room and seem to be holding a private conversation while the promo carries on.

You might run WLW, Kojima. But you don’t run us. This is MY empire. I rule here.

Miwa looks at Narato askance. “I thought I did...

Narato returns his look, his stare suddeny serious. “... No. I do.

There's a brief flicker of tension, before Miwa shrugs. “Fair enough...” . He turns to join the others on the sofa and leaves Narato to get on with ruling his empire.

You see this WLW chair?” asks Narato, picking up said chair and throwing it across the room and clattering into the wall opposite. “I rule that chair. I tell it what to do. You see this WLW tea cup?” asks Narato again, picking up said receptacle.

Actually that’s...” interjects Miwa, but is ignored. Narato inspects it for a moment and then sends it to it’s grave in pieces on the floor, leaving Miwa muttering to himself “... that's... ok. I can always buy a new one. No harm done.” Maita comforts him.

I own that cup. If I don’t like it, I make it gone. You see this WLW table?” asks Narato, pointing, to the visible alarm of the rest of the group behind him. “I happen to quite like it. It can stay. But only because I say so.

I think I’ve made my point, Kojima. If we decide to leave your company, we will. If we do not...

He leaves the statement hanging in the air, and switches off the camera.

A new biography has been added to the WLW.com Roster section:

Onibi

Onibi, the mischievous ancient Japanese fire spirit, is a mythological being said to wreak havoc in a similar manner to the western Will o’the Wisp. Recently a mysterious figure has appeared in WLW, wearing a salamander-like mask and claiming to share the spirit’s name. What else might he have in common with the ancient folk tales?

WLW.com Video Blog – The 505

http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c297/HeavyMetalJesus/WLW/Americana505.jpghttp://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c297/HeavyMetalJesus/WLW/Acid505.jpg

From backstage at an independent wrestling show, a video has been uploaded to WLW.com. It features Americana and Acid (the former is wearing his American Elemental attire, but beggar’s can’t be choosers). Acid has a scrunched-up piece of paper in his hand, on which a canny viewer could make out the kanji for ‘dragon’.

Americana is... displeased. So displeased in fact that he’s forgotten he’s in Japan, and cuts the promo entirely in English despite being one of the few gaijin fluent in Japanese. So it has to be subtitled for the natives.

We don’t need your gifts, Onijin or whatever you’re calling yourself. We just need you. All three of you. In the ring. At Fame & Fortune. UK Dragon was not a pet. He was our friend. You can’t just replace him! You can’t just make it right! You will pay for what you did, whatever in hell it was! I'll give you hard feelings in your skull for what you did!

The video ends abruptly.
