It's too bad Stevie is a bad fit for the Elite. That would be an amusing twist if he could make himself over. I could see Zeus not joining on the next show and this drawing out some more though before The Elite forces the issue.

...But Stevie Grayson might! I kinda sense a swerve here. But even if there's no swerve, I think it's more likely Zeus will reject The Elite.

Keep in mind that this was originally part of an 8 person game, where someone was controlling SWF. It's entirely conceivable that Giedroyc could be available. He wouldn't even need to be released or signed away from SWF to be available, he could have been traded over for appearances if the two owners made a working agreement.

Even without human ownership, it would be realistically possible for CGC and SWF to have a working relationship. They aren't really direct competitors, and it wouldn't hurt to benefit from occasional appearances from DeColt or Elite members in SWF, while giving their own midcarders some extra work and exposure in Canada.

Of course, this is all predicated on whether or not Joey did call his cousin in to do some 'switchouts'. It's what I originally hinted at being a possibility after the first show of Joey's new attitude when I made the 'wrath' comment, aka a well known Giedroyc alt on the boards, 'The Wrath of God'.

With the bag bit, Joey may just be doing a Chris Masters and roiding.

Marie tries to get Jack to join her for some breathing exercises, but he’s having none of it, jumping Hogg at the bell, going ballistic with right hands and shoulder tackles. A distraction by Lead Belly allows Hogg to battle back with drunken thuggery and lock in a powerful full nelson. In his fury, Jack fades fast... until he sees Marie sitting cross-legged on the floor, meditating. Jack gets calm. With a switch of his hips, he escapes the full nelson and controls his larger opponent with straightforward grappling techniques. He sends Hogg on a Wild Ride (Reverse Death Valley Driver) and locks in End of Days (Bow & Arrow Dragon Sleeper) but Lead Belly storms the ring and breaks the hold.

Zeus summons Godlike strength to surprisingly outmuscle the Giant Amongst Giants early, repeated taking him off of his feet. A distraction from Adrian Garcia allows DaLay a moment of space, enough to land a massive big boot. DaLay bullies Zeus around the ring, following Garcia’s incessant commands to punish the Bronzed God. He starts squeezing the life out of him with a bear hug. By the power of Olympus (and a little help from Stevie’s clapping) Zeus breaks the hold and fights back with left hands. Body slam! Backdrop! He sets up for the Thunder Bolt (Sit Out Bomb) but Adrian Garcia climbs onto the apron, distracting the referee and allowing DaLay to rake the eyes.

DaLay smirks, but Stevie flies in out of nowhere with a Tornado DDT! The referee didn’t see that either. He turns around to see Zeus hit a Twisting Spinebuster! 1... 2... 3!

A fiddly show, with two better match ratings than I expected. Dan DaLay isn't someone I count on for quality main events, but perhaps the similarity in styles, the heat of the storyline (averaging a C+ throughout the weeks) and Zeus' momentum (still up from winning the WrestleFestival storyline with Johnson/Deeley) really helped. I don't pay as much attention to that kinda stuff as I should when booking. It's likely the difference between "Ooh. That did well" and "Why on earth did that suck?".

Something I'm noticing is that CGC have a LOT of guys capable of headlining TV. The DeColt Rule is deceptive. Several quality babyfaces who just need the right push to headline. I've got one guy, barely on TV, who is opening the dark matches every week and is doing AMAZING. Maybe he's helped by the spot he's in (and winning all because I follow the 'open with a babyface win' rule... at least for the live crowd) but great matches every week. Outstanding momentum despite no storylines. Almost sad TV is only 60 minutes. Need to use this guy.

Trent throws a handful of glitter to the eyes, and scores a leaping DDT. He ruthlessly presses the advantage, trying to snap Joey’s neck with sharp elbow and knee strikes. Joey tries to fight back, but Trent’s fast. Scary fast. Stopping every comeback almost before it starts. Vampiric Embrace (Sleeper).
