Alex DeColt vs Christian Price

- I was just giving my reasoning for picking Price over Bach, the image of Bach having to wait until he is coming downwards from an upwards launch to realize... Price just thought "uppercut" a split second before Price connects with the uppercut struck me as funny.

 

Bobby Thomas vs Eddie Chandler

- Eddie makes to lay down for Bobby, only for some homo-aggressive skulduggery to prevail.

 

Edd Stone vs Eddie Chandler

- Double duty for Chandler means Stone uses his freshness to score the win!

 

Edd Stone vs Stevie Grayson

- Yet it doesn't work for Grayson as Edd doesn't realize he should be the tired one. He is the 24 Hour Party Animal for a reason, after all.

 

Gargantuan vs Samael Bach

- Versatility is not a strong point of Gargantuan, not that he needs it. But Garg is spooked by his loss to Zombie DeColt and can't find his form.

 

Ricky DeColt vs Sean Deeley

-It is DeZombie vs. Deeley in an all charisma, all selling, all expressions masterclass!

Hoo boy, busy, busy show. Depending on running order, having Stone and Chandler's first matches early and their facing each other much later in the show might help, but even so that's a lot of heel/heel action in the show.

 

Anyway, I'm a Sean Deeley mark and a little part of me dies inside when I don't see him getting pushed in other diaries (admittedly I'm not pushing him in mine, but I have 80 guys on my roster...)

 

One idea might be for him to blow his stack over Bach/DeColt pulling him this way and that way, the Brotherhood in his face (did I miss what St.01 stands for, by the way? Something to do with their time training together?), even the way that the Canadian title hasn't found its way to him yet despite being hotshotted around as the tournament goes on.

 

(That, incidentally, is an interesting side story to the tournament - contractual promises, or just something you fancied doing?)

 

You say that Deeley's mic skills have picked up, so he could move up the card. Have his revolt come as a realisation that, since leaving the Elite, he's been people's go-to guy for a partner when they need help or opponent when they need to make an impact. He's been used, and he's had enough.

 

Failing that, he could decide to play everyone against each other... but that's what Eddie Chandler's been doing, and rather well too.

 

One thing to consider, going back to the Brotherhood and the Canadian title, is what opinion Deeley has of Edd Stone. Stone is the black sheep of his family, having had the chance to be another Duane or Jeremy, and instead becoming... Edd. Deeley, as a supremely talented technician working in Canada, seems to have wanted to be a Stone - and seeing Edd consitently at odds, stylistically, with the rest of his Stone-trained teammates could be a catalyst for him to refine his own style and general approach - red trunks, red boots, red hands, perhaps? Especially with Deeley having been in CGC, a company that's very much seen as a counter-Stone promotion, for so long and had so little success. Perhaps he might feel that it's because he's too close to being a Stone... So why not go all the way, and show that a 'true' Stone could be the best wrestler in CGC after all?

 

That's probably what I'd do, anyway - but having finally got caught up with this, I know you have a real knack for crafting characters. Deeley deserves one, too :p

*Facepalm* Yeah, now you say it it's obvious - if had been St.1 I'd have probably got it straight away.

 

'01 also refers to 2001, the year that Art, Benny & Bobby graduated.

 

Having just got Reed in my game, I had that bit at least :o

Both men come to a stalemate trying to out-cheat each other. Double eye poke! Double sucker punch! Neither falls for the other’s “look over there” and that’s when things get heated and the fists start flying and Thomas gets the advantage with a dropkick to the knee. The Brotherhood member methodically works over the injured limb with a barrage of stomps and a series of serious holds, until Chandler escapes by way of gentle caress. Back rakes! Eye rakes! Inner Thigh rakes! Bobby escapes the Elitist Plex (Stalling Front Suplex) and throws a SUPER KI- No! Chandler catches it, spins him, and rolls him up for the schoolboy! He pulls the tights! 1... 2... 3!

Yeah, I’m like totally bummed not to get the points, but honestly?

Part of me is relieved. I’m like 87% sure that Canadian Title is cursed.

Every single time it’s been defended in the Ultimate Showdown

Series, the guy has lost. I know Bobby’s pissed to have to give up

this locker room, but if I’m to get enough points to not get banished

or whatever, I’m probably better off without it.

 

BOBBY THOMAS

For the last time. There’s no such thing as curses. There’s no such

could have served the future, yet in your arrogance you have allied

yourself with the relics of the past. You disappoint me... and worse,

perfect soldier. For what you did last week, he is going to tear you

limb from limb... unless you accept my new offer.

Limping, Chandler comfortably protects his injured knee from Edd’s surprisingly disciplined grappling, but whenever the Fabulous One gets into one of his trademark compromising positions, he recoils in horror, as though he doesn’t want to hump and grind on the Brotherhood member. Edd actually get offended at this, insisting Chandler grab him and- Backcracker! The Master of Mind Games works over the back and shoulders, looking for the submission attempt, but Edd instinctively knows all of the counters.

 

He retaliates with flippy-do’s and gravity defying nonsense and throws a SUPER KI- No! Chandler catches it, spins him, and rolls him up for the schoolboy... that Edd somehow backflips out of. Chandler tries to scramble to his feet but his knee gives way- SUPER KICK! 1... 2... 3!

 

EDD STONE WINS 2 POINTS (7:21)

 

Davis Ditterich “They went toe to toe, but it was the damage that his Brotherhood teammate Bobby Thomas dealt earlier tonight that helped Edd pick up the win.”

Davis Ditterich “In his quest to banish Samael, Alex has found himself slipping closer and closer to the bottom of the table, while Christian is hot on the heels of first place. The points here are all important.”

 

The two combatants shake hands and lock up in an epic test of strength. Slowly but surely and to Alex’s surprise, the younger man overpowers him! Price tries to follow up with uppercuts, but Alex has him scouted, dodging and unleashing pinpoint counterpunches. Powerslam! Snap Driving Elbow! Alex wisely keeps his distance, staying out of Price’s grasp, allowing him to telegraph the uppercut attempts. Alex goes for the Tower Collapse Superplex, and realises his mistake too late. Price has him in close, and is finally able to unleash thunderous European uppercuts. Alex crashes to the mat, and Price is quick to follow up with more. Simple. Effective. Unstoppable.

 

“One minute remaining”

 

In a hurry, Christian goes for Price Check (TKO) but Alex has it scouted. DeColt Driver (Straightjacket Drop)! 1... 2... Price is too dumb to die! Time ticking away, Alex goes for it again, but Price overpowers him. Big uppercut! Right on the button! Price Check! 1... 2... 3!

 

CHRISTIAN PRICE WINS (11:41)

 

Davis Ditterich “Huge win! Huge win! Huge win! Oh my word. Things have just gone from bad to worse for Alex DeColt. Christian Price just got one of the biggest wins of his career.”

Two babyfaces put on a weaker than average main event. Even though I’ve had some cracking heel on heel matches recently. Stevie/Edd was also pretty disappointing. Not the most consistent, those two, and the Canadian title’s prestige is pretty iffy right now. Maybe Edd’s right. Maybe it is cursed.

 

Was listening to a podcast previewing this year’s New Japan G1 tournament as I formatted this. As I listened to all of the predictions of potential upsets and monumental wins, I found myself wishing I was doing something like that. Then I remembered that I am. There have been some huge upsets so far in the USS. Christian Price, a man who once asked for help tying his shoes on National television, just beat Alex DeColt. Not only that, Edd Stone beat Eddie Chandler. Wowzers. I don’t know whether these victories mean less in a league setting but they’re certainly more likely to happen.

 

I would imagine a similar spot in a four way Brotherhood of St.01 match...

 

 

I was expecting that spot where everyone one guys hits a super kick, then he gets super kicked, then someone ducks a super kick... then about 8 more with very little selling. I love that spot, but that was better.

yknow, its stuff like giving a flying flip neckbreaker to an ultra strong guy who outweighs you by 100+ pounds that kinda affects bach's crystal ball credibility. also, its stuff like this that makes me love the uss, because you wouldn't get giant heel v guy whos ridiculously strong despite being small heel. good stuff self.

 

interested with the deeley potion bit. its gonna be interesting if you keep playing by the rules and are forced to turn alex because ultra stale gimmick, then jack. decolts turning their back on their family legacy, and only christian price to protect us! until he turns too. uh oh.

 

also i kinda sorta ripped off your match writing style for a parody efed. please don't sue me. i like psychology and stuff.

I suspect the Canadian title is suffering from how many title switches there have been. I love the gimmick 'the cursed Canadian' belt, but the code of TEW doesn't understand what you are doing.

- I think DeColt fails in his attempt to rid CGC of the Scourge from the Future and suddenly finds himself in dire circumstances near the bottom.

- Bobby continues to flounder as the leader of the House of St.01. Hopefully leading to an epic DeColt/Thomas encounter.

 

Christian Price (12) vs Sean Deeley (6)

- Price winning the USS and using his wishes foolishly or people trying to trick him into misusing them is a storyline I want to see.

- I don't see DeZombie losing to Edd Stone. Especially after his B+ 12 seconds of work.

Price looks banged up, but Deeley can barely move and is easily overpowered. The Shooter manages to take the fight to the ground, but it doesn’t last long. Price explodes free and unleashes thunderous european uppercuts. Simple. Effective. Unstoppable. Price Check (TKO) 1... 2... 3.

goal: To see me banished from Canadian Golden Combat. For weeks

he has instructed my opponents in how to beat me, but he is failing. I

defeated Sean Deeley. I defeated Bobby Thomas. I have looked into

the sun and the stars and seen that I will not be banished. In fact, it is

Alex DeColt who will be banished. His obsession with me shall be his

undoing. Tonight, he will be washed away with the sands of time and

by my hands it will be done.

you, you’ve never beaten me. Outside of the ring, you’re the most

dangerous man ever to come into CGC, but inside of the ring? Without

your army of monsters to protect you? You’re vulnerable. Beatable. I

solved your puzzle from day one. There’s a simple trick to beating

you, and tonight I’m going to use it.

I think you know by now there’s more to me than my power to see

into the future. You saw what happened to Sean Deeley. You saw

how I brought him to his knees before me.

 

ALEX DECOLT

You plan to poison me, Bach? You really think you can?

 

SAMAEL BACH

Maybe I already have. How were the egg whites you had for breakfast

this morning? Or the chicken you had for lunch? Or maybe I’m still biding

my time. Maybe I’ve poisoned that bottle of water you left in your bag.

Or that complimentary buffet in Jack‘s locker room. You can’t stop the

Davis Ditterich “ I’m not sure if you could say these two were ‘friends’ when they teamed up in 2013. but with the threat of banishment looming over their heads, they’re enemies tonight.”

 

Bobby demands a handshake. Gargantuan crushes his hand. The genetically engineered fighting machine pulverizes his smaller foe, but when he tries to lawn dart his opponent into the turnbuckles, Bobby knows all of his ex-partner’s tricks, slips free and methodically chops down the giant’s legs. Gargantuan decapitates him with an unreal clothesline. Chokeslam! Bobby wisely rolls outside, forcing Gargantuan to follow. The referee starts counting.

 

“1... 2... 3...”

 

Gargantuan catches up to Thomas… and gets a SUPER KICK to the knee!

 

“4...5... 6...”

 

Bobby heads for the ring, but Gargantuan grabs his leg, holding him in place.

 

“7.... 8.... 9...”

 

Bobby yanks his foot free- SUPER KICK! He dives into the ring!

 

“10!”

Bobby Thomas, you have just earned two valuable points and picked

yourself up off of the bottom of the leaderboard. You must be relieved.

 

BOBBY THOMAS

Must I, Jenny? Must I? Sure, I’m that little bit less likely to be banished,

but I don’t have a hope in hell of winning the Three Wishes either.

I failed. Not only that, but I don’t have the belt I started the series with.

Lucky for me, I have one more match to go, and it’s with the current

Canadian Champion, Stevie Grayson.

 

You’re a joke, Stevie! You don’t deserve the title, and you don’t

deserve that locker room. Edd underestimated you, but this Friday

at ‘Ultimate Showdown’ I’m not going to.

Good. You’re back. Did you choose the grocery store at random?

 

CHUCKY

Um… I guess? Does that matter?

 

ALEX DECOLT

Of course it matters. If Bach could have predicted I’d send you, he could

have predicted what store you’d go to, and predicted what you’d buy,

then poison it.

 

DRAKE

That seems unlikely.

 

ALEX DECOLT

What about you? Was this water out of your sight at any point?

 

DRAKE

Full disclosure? I may have had a homeless guy watch it while I

went into a pet store. I wouldn’t trust the water but if you’d like to pet

a rabbit I’ve got like 15 of them I can guarantee haven’t been poisoned.

 

Furious, Alex throws the bottle of water at them, narrowly missing before turning to stare at his stack of monitors, playing looped footage of Samael Bach in action. Drake pulls an invisible hand grenade out of his pocket, pulls the pin, and rears back to throw it at Alex…. but Chucky grabs his arm, shaking his head. No.

 

ALEX DECOLT

Sorry, guys. I appreciate the help, but Samael Bach is tricky. I’m just

going to have to tough it out. Fighting hungry and dehydrated is a hell

of a lot better than getting poisoned.

Davis Ditterich “For years, people have been dreaming of a match between these two, but not like this. This spellbound monster is not the real Ricky.”

 

Ricky stares ahead with cold dead eyes. Edd tries to get his attention, pulling faces and waving his hands, but there‘s no reaction… until the bell rings and Ricky starts taking him apart with right hands. Somehow Edd accidentally finds himself in position to take a Running Bulldog, and as there’s a flicker of life in Ricky’s eyes, Edd takes advantage. He attacks the weak spot on the foot with surprising discipline, and applies an impressive array of his family’s trademark holds and stretches.

 

The monster battles back with more right hands and a Press Slam, before going for Spear and- SUPER KICK! St.01 Ankle Stretch! Ricky’s in pain! The spellbound monster starts powering towards the ropes, so Edd starts kneeing the weak spot! Ricky screams in pain! He’s sounding like the old Ricky, on the verge of tapping o- Strange chimes sound.

 

To Edd’s credit, he doesn’t release the hold, but he is distracted enough to stop striking, and that’s all the monster needs. He kicks Edd off of him. POISON MIST! Ripcord Lariat! Edd’s turned inside out! 1... 2... 3.

 

RICKY DECOLT WINS 2 POINTS (7:07)

 

Davis Ditterich “I think that’s the closest anyone’s come to beating Ricky so far.”

Finals. The entire roster is returning to find out who‘s going to win Three

You’re on. I’m going to pick the best team ever, and after Ultimate

Showdown you’re going to be out of the street where you belong.

Davis Ditterich “These two were among the favourites to win when the series began, but their war with each other has put both on the brink of banishment. This match is key.”

 

Alex doesn’t look so good. Maybe he’s ust hungry. Or maybe it’s something more sinister. Nevertheless he’s able to overpowered the soothsayer and starts destroying him with Samoan-ish head butts. Unable to rely of his supernatural powers of precognition, Bach turns instead to his amazing speed and agility, and does well until Alex once again surprises him by hunting him down and trapping him in the corners with no nonsense brawling. Alex is in control…. but finds himself tiring.

 

Davis Ditterich “Oh boy, Alex doesn’t look so good. Did Bach manage to poison him at some point?“

 

Mind not firing on all cylinders, Alex attempts the DaLay Down (Belly to Belly Piledriver) but that’s something Bach can predict! Overhead Kick! Bach picks him apart with stinging kicks! Alex comes back with drunken-esque thuggery, but suddenly there’s panic is his eyes, He tries to get to his feet, but stumbles, on the verge of passing out. Samael Bach is ecstatic. He’s got him. Keeping a close eye on the ticking clock, Bach seeks to enjoy every remaining second he has with Alex DeColt prone at his feet. He considers the Harbinger, but instead goes for 3 points, slowly locking in the Dragon Sleep- No! Alex springs to life, lawn darts him into the turnbuckles, and rolls him up! 1... 2... 3!

 

ALEX DECOLT WINS 2 POINTS (10:47)

 

Davis Ditterich “Alex tricked him! Clearly he wasn’t poisoned at all! Now only one match stands between Bach and banishment, but who’s his final opponent?”

I’ve decided to go on hiatus after Ultimate Showdown. On this current schedule, I’m barely getting these shows done, and it’s getting a little week-to-week, with a less coherent ‘big picture’. So I think a few weeks without posting, will be a good way to get a stockpile of scripts going. I can concentrate on the writing, with a nice relaxed schedule.
