Hollywood Hogan is out to start the show, along with "Guardian Angel" Bubba Rogers. Hogan says that after last week's heinous assault, he's realized how good it is to have someone to look after him. Tony and Bobby call that a sham, as Bubba's training with the Guardian Angels was supposed to help him look after those in need, not someone like Hogan. Dusty says that apparently it's all in how Rogers himself looks at it. Hogan talks about how Flair may have gotten the last laugh last week, but at Fall Brawl in the cage, it'll be a different story. He claims that Flair is getting his just desserts, after all those years of keeping his title because of the Four Horsemen, now when it's coming back to haunt him, Flair can't deal with it!

http://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/RicFlair.jpg

That brings out Ric Flair himself, who says that Hogan is out of his mind! Flair tells him that yes, he's always had someone watching his back, but that won't matter in the cage - Hogan's going to have to walk that aisle, and step in the ring with "The Nature Boy" one-on-one. Flair says that twice now, he's had Hogan's number, but the Kings of Wrestling have gotten in his way. Hogan interjects, saying that the third time will NOT be the charm, and that the title will stay in the camp of the KoW for as long as he wants it to! Flair says that if Hogan is so big, maybe they should just have the match right here, right now! Flair starts walking to the ring, but he's met on the outside face to face with Bubba Rogers!

http://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/NickBockwinkel.jpg

Nick Bockwinkel interrupts at this point, and he wants to calm down the situation immediately. He says that while Mr. Flair seems ready to wrestle, he can't just reschedule a huge matchup like that. However, what he CAN do, is next week on WCW Saturday Night, "Nature Boy" Ric Flair squares off against "Guardian Angel" Bubba Rogers! Everyone seems in agreement, as Hogan jaws on about how Flair won't even make it to Fall Brawl now!

Robert Gibson vs. Booker T

The match is fast right out of the gates, as both men are looking to score big wins against their enemies. Booker uses all of his street smarts to full effect, while Gibson makes use of all his Southern-style comebacks in this one, making for a solid match with the opposite approaches. Booker T is able to score the win using those same street smarts, as he catches Gibson with a sharp elbow to the jaw and rolls him up with his feet on the ropes for the three count.

Winner: Booker T

Stevie Ray emerges from the back, and they want to do some damage, but Ricky Morton comes bolting out from the back and the two WCW veterans send the Heat scattering with a flurry of offense, ending with double dropkicks that knock them out of the ring.

Mean Gene is backstage now, and he has to lean down to the wall to find his guest at this time, Cactus Jack. Jack talks about how he felt he had a kindred spirit, finally someone who understood, in Kevin Sullivan. But apparently, Kevin found something else to understand. Cactus says that he has no problem being beaten up - that's never the point. But to go on behind his back and hand over Jack's WCW World Tag Team championship? That's something he does not and will not take lightly. He said that he will chase Kevin Sullivan now to the ends of the earth if he has to. Last week, Dave got in the way, and Cactus felt sorry for him. Never again - if Evad gets in the way again, Cactus knows what Evad will do, and that's look after big brother. So he wants Evad to understand what's going to happen - nobody is going to get in the way again. Jack closes saying that the Sullivans may have thought it especially clever to beat him down at the end of their match at the Clash of the Champions, and he makes note to say that the Nasty Boys will have their time coming as well; but the Sullivans, and Kevin in particular, will come to regret the day he ever asked Cactus Jack for a favor.

Rating: C

Notes: Cactus has changed to a new gimmick, Wild Man, which rated at 82.

Cactus Jack vs. Bunkhouse Buck

A focused Cactus Jack is a scary thing, and Buck was the unlucky man to be against him. Buck did what he could, even at one point trying to take off his boot and use it as a weapon, but Cactus was an unstoppable beast, and he decimated Buck before dropping him with the double arm DDT for the win.

Winner: Cactus Jack

Back to Mean Gene again, who is now standing by with Vader. The Monster is there alongside his new manager, who he introduces to us all as Sonny Onoo, WCW's liason with New-Japan Pro Wrestling. Vader says that Onoo is a man with taste, as he has aligned himself with the best and the biggest here in WCW, and he says they have a huge surprise for Sting later tonight. A ghost from his past, who will help to show Sting that he isn't the same man he used to be, and that's why he would be in league with the Kings of Wrestling. Onoo nods and applauds, as Vader says that he's going to show the world that his reach is greater than anyone would have ever realized, that Sting needs to watch his back tonight!

Rating: D+

Notes: So this one blew my mind. Vader and Harley Race had extremely poor chemistry, but Vader and Sonny Onoo? Great. Who'd have thunk it?

http://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/HulkHogan2.jpghttp://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/KevinSullivan2.jpghttp://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/PaulOrndorff.jpg

Hollywood Hogan comes back out to the ring, this time flanked by "Mr. Wonderful" Paul Orndorff and Kevin Sullivan. The KoW are all smiles, as Hogan says that last week, he was glad to see these two men, who some are calling "washed up", showing people up like Jim Duggan and Cactus Jack last week. He dubs Sullivan "The Gamesmaster" again, saying that he played everyone like only he can. And Orndorff and Butcher are doing what they set out to do, and that's take down that dummy Jim Duggan, who couldn't change with the times and dared to turn down the KoW.

http://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/JimDuggan.jpg

At his name's mention, Duggan comes out, and he says that while he would love to get his hands on Hogan again, he has another beef right now - Orndorff! He says that if Paul has the guts to see him face to face, he wants a match with him at Fall Brawl! "Mr. Wonderful" nods, telling Hogan "piece of cake" and Hogan says that Duggan needs to watch what he asks for, because it looks like he's got it! Duggan says in retaliation that he's going to do whatever it takes to show the KoW that the only colors aren't black and white, because plenty of people still bleed red, white, and blue - U-S-A! U-S-A! U-S-A!

Gordon Solie is backstage with the Stud Stable of Austin, DDP, and Colonel Parker, with Diamond Doll looking uninterested behind them. Austin takes the reigns of most of the talking, as he says that Bockwinkel claims to have heard him talking about how he's the best ever, and it's about time! Tonight, Sting gets his brush with greatness, and while he knows Sting is watching for someone to come around because of Vader's threats, the immediate danger is right in front of him, that being Stunning Steve! Solie asks about Johnny B. Badd, and he says he isn't worried. Badd gets his chance at Diamond Dallas Page at Fall Brawl, and he's just a Diamond Cutter away from needing to go into hiding as a LOSER!

Rating: B-

Notes: Austin seems to do especially well with improvising every time I give it to him thus far.

We head to Mean Gene, who is with Arn Anderson and Dustin Rhodes. Arn talks about how he hasn't been far from Rhodes this whole time that he's had issues with Meng and Jimmy Hart, and he wants everyone to see that he's still got Dustin's back. Rhodes says that it's gonna be time to put up or shut up soon, and he is gonna be headhunting on the bodyguard as soon as he shows his face!

Roddy Piper, Paul Orndorff, and The Butcher are caught talking backstage, Piper telling them that the Trinity liked their initiative last week with beating the crap out of Duggan, but that they can't let up now; they need to finish the job.

Bad Attitude vs. Stars 'n Stripes

Basically just a showcase for Bagwell and Patriot, as they pretty quickly come into the match and use quick tags and play to their individual strengths in order to keep Bad Attitude off their game right from the opening bell. The suplex/bodypress puts the three count on Keirn, as they seem to have something on their chests to get to after the match.

Winners: Stars 'n Stripes

Patriot gets on the microphone, and he calls out Lord Steven Regal and Sir William. They come to the top of the aisle, Regal seeming amused as he asks what right they have to speak his name. Bagwell tells him that they have a little challenge for him - a match at Fall Brawl. Patriot says that while Regal has beaten them both in singles matches, he didn't do so without the help of Sir William. So when they defeat him, Sir William will have to leave WCW! Regal scoffs, saying that they better offer something worth his time for him to even consider such a thing, and Bagwell says that they have one for him. To get this match, they'll put up their patriotism - if Regal and William can cheat their way to a win, not only will they stop teaming, they'll stop waving the flags, they'll stop wearing the colors, Patriot will even unmask! Regal is amused, and he smirks, saying that they'll see them at Fall Brawl!

The screen is covered with a Japanese flag when we come back from a commercial break, and the words "The Nasty Boys visit Japan" appear over it with a gong sound. Brian Knobs and Jerry Sags are shown walking around the streets of Japan, talking about how great it is to be in Japan instead of in front of the WCW fans - and how even better it is to be here as the WCW World Tag Team champions as well! Sags talks about how as the best team in WCW, it's good for them to get away from there to concentrate on some real competition, and broaden their horizons a bit. He says that Knobs even showered the other day! Cut to a clip of Brian Knobs (shown from the shoulders up, thankfully) in a shower room, and he's using the Tag title belt like a washcloth, rubbing it up his armpits and blowing his nose on it. The two walk in a Japanese steam room, with geisha girls running around here and there. They order the "nastiest steaming they got", and then it shows them in a steam room wearing towels, their Nasty Boys shirts, and sunglasses into the steam room. There's a "30 minutes later" and it shows them walking out, and when they're asked how they're going to pay for it, they each throw the titles on the desk, asking if the place accepts gold! The video ends just like it began, and Tony talks briefly about how disrespectful that is, and how someone needs to take those titles right back as soon as the Nastys are back on American soil.

Arn Anderson is walking backstage, and he comes upon The Butcher. Arn tells him "heel, puppy; where are your masters at?" Butcher laughs, and says that he could ask Anderson the same thing. Butcher says that they're both guys who have been second-in-command for a long time, but that the difference is, when Butcher was solo, at least the fans cared about his career, instead of just asking when he'd go back to watching someone else's back. Butcher says that it's no wonder Anderson has always been "The Enforcer", because he could never hack it when he didn't have three other guys around to buddy around, and if it weren't for them, Arn would probably be sitting in Georgia watching someone like Hogan or Butcher on television! Arn takes in everything that Butcher has to say, and then he grabs him around the neck, pushing him against the wall so hard that the drywall breaks around him! Arn tells him that Butcher needs to watch his mouth, because the next time he opens it, "The Enforcer" will show him why he's always had people depending on him instead of having to take a job cutting hair! Arn throws Butcher out of his way and walks on, as Jimmy Hart comes in to check on him.

Mean Gene says that tensions keep getting hotter and hotter around here, which brings in his guest right now, the man called Sting! He asks Sting's thoughts on what Austin said earlier, and he tells him that while yeah, Sting is watching his back for what Vader and Onoo have up their sleeves, Stunning Steve needs to make no mistake - he's coming right at him! He tells Vader that he doesn't care what "ghost" he's dug up, whether it's Lex, Sid, Abby, or even the Black Scorpion, Sting has seen them all and beaten them all, and if he has to, he'll do it again!

Ron Simmons vs. Flyin' Brian

Simmons takes control for much of the match, much like at Clash of the Champions, but this time he makes sure not to let it fall outside the ring. At the same time, Brian is using all kinds of moves that keep Ron's shoulders down on the mat, as he tries desperately to pin the big man in order to win the favor of his hero. After a very close two-count on Simmons, he hurls Brian into the corner and loses his temper, hammering on him with no regard, even when Randy Anderson starts telling him to back off. Ron doesn't listen, and when Anderson tries to physically intervene, Simmons shoves him aside. Anderson calls for the bell - Pillman has gotten the win again, and Simmons has no one to blame but himself!

Winner: Flyin' Brian (by disqualification)

Rating: B-

As soon as he hears the announcement, Simmons is infuriated! He pounds on Brian a few more times, and he sends him flying out of the ring! Brian is on the apron, barely able to stand, and Ron punches him off, sending him down onto the announcer's table! Brian bounces off and falls to the floor, broken, beaten - but victorious.

Rating: C

Note: Yeah, I almost went with him going through the table. But this is WCW in 1994 - ECW hadn't made people flying through tables popular enough for it to be a regular bump yet.

Non-title: Sting vs. Stunning Steve Austin w/Colonel Robert Parker

One thing is for sure about this match, and that is how Steve Austin is showing himself to be a future main event draw if he can pull off more of these. The two have a great back and forth match, which ends in controversial fashion as Johnny B. Badd makes his presence felt at ringside. Badd comes down and Austin pokes his head out of the ring, jawing with him, calling him a loser again. Badd fakes a punch, causing Austin to stumble back, right into a rollup from Sting for the three count! Heenan calls for disqualification, but replays show that Badd never touched him.

Winner: Sting

Austin trudges off to the back with Parker fanning him with the handkerchief, as Sting's music turns to Vader's! The Monster comes out to the top of the aisle and yells for Sting, telling him that the time is now! The lights go out, and when they come back on, a man is in the ring behind Sting, wearing robes and a hood covering his face. Sting turns around to meet him as Vader points.

Sting drops to the mat rubbing his eyes frantically, as the robes come off. And as Vader and Onoo laugh and applaud (and Onoo snaps a few pictures on his camera) The Great Muta stands in the center of the ring.

"Das Wunderkind" Alex Wright completely takes over a match against The Gambler, pinning him after a German suplex after letting him get in almost no offense whatsoever. (D)

Alex Wright stops by commentary and talks to Gordon Solie, saying that he keeps picking up victories in WCW and is looking to be a young champion. (C-)

Sonny Onoo comes out and says that he's been watching around WCW for quite awhile, and he's tired of seeing men like Bagwell and Patriot able to show their American pride, when there's nothing to show for the Japanese. He says that is why he has imported two young talents from Japan, Hayabusa and Hakushi - his Rising Sons! The two bow to one another, as Onoo snaps pictures on his camera of them, before leading them to the ring. (E)

Notes: The two were both given mysterious gimmicks. Hayabusa's rated at 87, and Hakushi got a 75.

The Rising Sons made quick work of Joey Maggs and Mark Starr, as Hayabusa quickly ended the match with the falcon arrow on Maggs. (E+)

Where did Harlem Heat come from? But here they are, backstage brawling with the Rock 'n Roll Express again! (D+)

WCW Hotline: September 1994, Week 2

http://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/WCWHotline.jpg

WCW Hotline; September Week 2, 1994

Press 1 for WCW Fall Brawl control center!

Press 2 for information about The Great Muta!

Press 4 for WCW Saturday Night preview!

Press 5 for last week's ratings breakdown!

Press 8 for WWF Monday Night Raw results!

Press 9 for your vote for a new innovative concept!

Option 1: Fall Brawl control center!

On WCW Saturday Night, we saw Johnny B. Badd's challenge become a match for Fall Brawl, as he will get to take on Diamond Dallas Page! Also a match was set up between Hacksaw Jim Duggan and "Mr. Wonderful" Paul Orndorff. And who is this "Trinity" they keep talking about wanting to keep pleased? Lastly (so far) the match is signed, the Patriotism of Stars 'n Stripes is on the line against Lord Steven Regal and his leige, Sir William. Keep watching WCW programming and calling the WCW Hotline to find out what other matches you will be in store for at Fall Brawl '94!

Option 2: The ghost from Sting's past revealed!

Vader and Onoo's surprise for Sting turned out to be The Great Muta! Older fans will remember their feud over the Television championship from 1989 when WCW was under the banner of the NWA, and it seems he's come back to reignite the old war. Muta is a master of the moonsault, and his deadly green mist is to be highly feared! Word has it that Onoo has connections to our friends in NJPW, and he has him on talent trade for a few appearances, while two of WCW's favorites ply their trade for the fans of New Japan, Ricky Steamboat and Terry Funk.

Option 4: WCW Saturday Night preview!

Something new for wrestling fans is being innovated by WCW, as we are letting you, the fans, choose the main event for WCW Saturday Night! Call the WCW Hotline during the show and cast your vote from the options given, and your voice will be heard! Who could we see in the main event? It's up to you!

Last week's altercation between Ric Flair and Bubba Rogers is spilling over to this week, as the two meet in the ring! You have to believe that Rogers is only out to hurt "The Nature Boy" before the big showdown with Hollywood Hogan in a week at Fall Brawl! Will the rest of the Kings of Wrestling be on hand, though?

Sting's "ghost from the past" from Vader turned out to be The Great Muta! Sonny Onoo immediately put out a challenge to WCW, offering anyone to come and face his charge in the ring to show how dominant he still is, and Johnny B. Badd answered the call.

Also, Arn Anderson and Dustin Rhodes team up to take on the Sullivans; will Cactus Jack be around? Ron Simmons faces off with Terry Taylor, The Patriot takes on Jean-Paul Levesque, and Paul Orndorff and The Butcher are in action! All this and more, at 6:05 PM Eastern only on The Superstation!

The Sullivans vs. Arn Anderson & Dustin Rhodes

The Patriot vs. Jean-Paul Levesque

Ron Simmons vs. Terry Taylor

"Mr. Wonderful" Paul Orndorff & The Butcher vs. Mark Starr & "Hardwork" Bobby Walker

Option 5: Last week's ratings!

WCW Saturday Night drew in an amazing 7.62 rating on TBS! And a 0.56 for Main Event. I guess we showed people how good wrestling can be, as Raw dropped to a 5.74.

Option 8: That Other Wrestling Show!

The second week's Raw taping from September is better left alone. They actually let Bastion Booger on the show?!? Their "main event" matches featured three big, fat Samoans, as the Headshrinkers kept their worthless tag titles over - dig this team - Nikolai Volkoff and IRS. I bet Rotunda's just waiting for his contract to run out so he can come back home to WCW! And then Razor Ramon defeated Yokozuna. Wow. Great stuff guys, bravo. Meanwhile, Saturday Night brought about the best from all over the world, and we actually say they're the right nationality!

Option 9: Cast your fan vote here this Saturday!

Call this option during WCW Saturday Night for a list of the wrestlers who you can choose for the main event of the show!

--------------------------------

Prediction Standings

NWAvsWWF: 5/5

The Final Countdown: 5/5

BHK1978: 4/5

RKOwnage: 4/5

Despite the seven matches listed, only 6 points on this Saturday Night, as the "fan vote" match was NWAvsWWF's prize for winning the prediction contest. So only he knows who will be in the match, until it happens.

I want to give another special huge thank you to all who voted for me in the mod and spotlight polls this month, one of these months we may get a win!

I'm quite pleased with myself for making that Muta pick. :D Also, Hayabusa and Hakushi are an interesting addition to the tag division. If you can just get their popularity up a bit, they should be a great team.

Very good show. I can't wait to see what you do with The Great Muta. Interesting teaming DDP and Austin because I remember DDP talking about watching tapes of Austin and being blown away by him. Calling Bischoff and telling him he made the Wrong mistake when releasing Austin. An fire the scout who told him to release Austin.

WCW Saturday Night

September 1994, Week 2

Held at: The Palestra (Tri State)

Attendance 10,000 (sell out!)

Rating: B

So here is our concept for the evening:

<iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/bGLu0J6uE4I?rel=0" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

http://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/GreatMuta.jpghttp://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/WCWs/SonnyOnoo.jpg vs. http://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/MarcMero.jpghttp://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/WCWs/TeddyLong.jpg

The Great Muta w/Sonny Onoo vs. Johnny B. Badd w/Teddy Long

I find myself realizing why WCW kept the Johnny B. Badd character around for so long, and why he was so well pushed. All of his competitive matches have been AT LEAST a C rating, very much good enough to get the crowd excited for the show if he's in the opening part of the card. Anyways, while this is a good, competitive match, we all know this is a showcase for Muta, who hasn't been seen in the US for awhile and needed some reaffirming to the American audiences. The two go back and forth, but Badd is at a disadvantage most of the time, no matter how much Long cheers him on from the outside. Muta puts Badd away with a moonsault.

Winner: The Great Muta

Rating: C

Gene Okerlund is now backstage in the "blue" locker room, and he stands among a handful of wrestlers who are milling around. He points out Flyin' Brian, Ricky Steamboat, and Jim Duggan, but he calls upon Sting to come say a few words. Sting says that he doesn't know who his opponent will be, but he hopes and prays that the fans will choose him to get his hands on Vader!

Rating: C+

http://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/RicFlair.jpg

"Nature Boy" Ric Flair comes out to the ring, and he says that there's only eight days left until he finally has his match - the World championship on the line, against Hollywood Hogan in a fifteen foot high steel cage! Flair says that he intends on making Hogan scream for his mommy when he clamps him in the figure four again! And once Flair has the World Heavyweight championship back around his waist, this "Kings of Wrestling" thing will be nothing but a footnote in WCW's history, just one more minor uprising that he has withstood, whooo! Because there are only two things that last forever, and that's diamonds, and the "Nature Boy"! Flair says that Hogan really needs to watch out for himself and his allies, because if there's one person who knows how to excel at gang warfare, it's Ric Flair. Flair says that Hogan needs to get his head straight, and back off, maybe even head back North, and get the KoW away from "The Nature Boy" before it's too late!

http://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/GuardianAngel.jpg

One person who doesn't agree is Flair's opponent for the night, "Guardian Angel" Bubba Rogers! Rogers comes out without a word and hits the ring, sparking a brawl between the two! Officials have to run out and separate them, as we head to a break until things can get settled down.

Rating: B-

"Mr. Wonderful" Paul Orndorff & The Butcher vs. "Hardwork" Bobby Walker & Mark Starr

Yeah, nothing match, just a quick one so Orndorff and Butcher can show how mean they can be. Orndorff's jumping piledriver puts Starr down in no time flat.

Winners: "Mr. Wonderful" Paul Orndorff & The Butcher

Rating: D

http://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/WCWs/GordonSolie.jpghttp://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/TerryFunk.jpg

We go to Gordon Solie in the "red" locker room. He identifies the wrestlers who are talking amongst themselves, pointing out Vader, Stunning Steve Austin, Meng, and Terry Funk. Solie says he would like to get a few words from one of them, but before he can ask again, Funk steps up and tells him that he's here because he heard there were some egg suckin' dogs around WCW who are in that other room who need put in their place! Funk says he's been over in New Japan for the past few weeks, and the word is that Sting is a traitorous, Hogan-lovin', makeup-wearin', yellow-bellied bast---- (Solie winces as the word does get half blurred out), and Muta is gonna take him out, but he'd like to knock him down a peg or two first! Solie takes the microphone away from him, and speaking of Japan, he sends it to a video.

The Japanese flag is shown like last week, as "The Nasty Boys visit Japan" logo fades over it. This time, we see Knobs and Sags sitting down at a restaurant. After they promptly make fools of themselves by making a scene at how the restaurant doesn't serve pizza how they like it ("garbage pizza, with extra garbage"), they try some sake before spitting it all over some well-dressed guests. At the end of the video, however, they're sated by eating some rice, but they reveal that they're eating it off of their WCW World Tag Team title belts! They say "Look, we found a good use for these things yet!" They laugh as the video fades back to the arena.

Out to the entrance ramp, where Hollywood Hogan, Roddy Piper, and The Queen are standing. Queen mocks the fans by almost letting them touch her hair and then pulling away, while Hogan says that he heard Ric Flair out here running his mouth earlier. Hogan says that fairy tales can be fun, but it just isn't in the cards. Piper says that the Trinity won't let the KoW become a "footnote" like Flair talked about, and that while "diamonds might be forever, but they can still get crushed!" Hogan says that he's exactly right, and it doesn't matter whether they're in a cage or not, Hollywood always gets the job done, and you can take that to the bank, jack! Hogan also has a word for Arn Anderson, telling him that his only chance is to get out of the way, as the KoW aren't going to cut him any slack, especially after what he did last week to The Butcher! As they walk to the back, Heenan wonders aloud what they mean when they talk about "the Trinity"?

To the ring come the Rock 'n Roll Express, and they ask for Harlem Heat to meet them. Booker and Stevie come out, and Morton says that as much as they want to get another match with the Heat to show them that no matter how many backstage brawls they have, Rock 'n Roll are here to stay, they also have heard that come Fall Brawl, the United States Tag Team championships are going to be up for grabs. They say that if the two teams are against one another, then they won't be able to get in on the title match, so they propose a match, right here next week on WCW Saturday Night! Booker and Stevie agree, and all looks well, until the two teams get into a staredown and end up brawling again! As security come out again to stop another fight, we head backstage.

Gordon Solie is still in the "red" locker room, as he urges fans to keep calling in for the fan voted main event. Solie says that another man who could be in the main event tonight is one of the men from last week's main event, WCW United States champion Stunning Steve Austin. He brings Austin over, and he talks about how last week, it took Johnny B. Badd sticking his nose in his business for Sting to pin him, but that was only the scene where the star gets robbed of what should have been his! Austin changes gears and asks if his eyes deceived him, or did he see Ricky Steamboat in the other locker room? Austin says that he'd better not see "The Dragon" across the ring from him tonight, or else he's gonna have to slay the Dragon one more time! Solie thanks Austin for his time, and sends us to commercial.

Backstage, we briefly hear Lord Stevel Regal having a conversation with Jean-Paul Lévesque. He tells him that while he doesn't know much about who he is yet, he can see that he's an exceptional athlete, and that if his Lordship needs something done, he feels he can count on him. That is why he wants Lévesque to do whatever he can to take out The Patriot tonight. Lévesque says it will be his pleasure, as the two part ways then.

Arn Anderson & Dustin Rhodes vs. The Sullivans w/Jimmy Hart

Take note: this has been the best televised Dave Sullivan match since July 1994... possibly since ever. Dustin gets worked over in the corner - mostly by Kevin - until Arn gets the hot tag, and then he cleans house for a few minutes until Jimmy Hart jumps on the apron, giving Evad a chance to get the megaphone. He takes aim at Arn, but then Cactus Jack runs out! Kevin takes flight, abandoning his match again in order to escape his unpredictable enemy. Mickey Jay is watching the two men race out of the arena, when Arn DDTs Evad onto the megaphone! He shoves the evidence away and makes the cover.

Winners: Arn Anderson & Dustin Rhodes

http://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/WCWs/JesseVentura.jpg

Arn and Dustin meet up to Jesse Ventura at the top of the ramp, and Jesse says that he's heard a scoop that the two of them have been talking about backstage. He asks what they're planning, and Arn says that he and Dustin were watching both this week and last week, and they saw some guys - rather, some punks - disrespecting not only a culture, but also some championships that both he and Dustin have worn proudly and fought hard, even fought each other, for in the past. That's the Nasty Boys. Arn says that they have a challenge for the Boys, and that is to hook up with the KoW's hired gun Meng, and meet them in a six-man tag team match at Fall Brawl! Dustin says that if the KoW have any guts between the whole group, they'll meet them - and they have the best partner already lined up!

In the "blue" locker room, Mean Gene is talking to Jim Duggan, as the rest of the possible participants are getting antsy behind them. Duggan says that he's disappointed that none of the KoW decided to join in on this concept, but it doesn't surprise him. However, he knows that Meng is associated with them, so he would hope that he and Meng can square off! Hooooooo!

The Patriot vs. Jean-Paul Lévesque

A back and forth matchup that was showcase for both of these men. Every time Jean-Paul got ahead, he would take time to arrogently curtsy to his masked foe, and eventually Patriot got sick of it and just started hitting big move after big move, and has Lévesque on the ropes. He hits him with the Uncle Slam, but Lord Steven Regal and Sir William came out to ringside. The Patriot went to them and said to Regal that "his lackey didn't get the job done" but about that time Lévesque moved in for the kill, chopblocking Patriot! He goes out and slammed his knee against the ring apron, then went back inside and hit the Pedigree for the win. Lévesque nods at Regal, who smirks in return.

Winner: Jean-Paul Lévesque

Ron Simmons vs. Terry Taylor

Simmons steamrolls over Taylor, the aging star never really getting out of the blocks whatsoever in this one. Taylor tries to fight back, but anything he does ends up just making the angry All-American even angrier. Simmons seems to be sending a message to Flyin' Brian, who we understand is having a third and final match at Fall Brawl, and he quickly puts Taylor away with a brutal spinebuster.

Gordon Solie is still in the "red" locker room, and after he apologizes for his previous interview with "the crude" Terry Funk, he brings up Vader and Sonny Onoo. Vader says that everyone should be putting in his name for the match, because he wants to get his hands on Sting. He says he's letting Muta do so at Fall Brawl, but it's always been Vader who will be the one to destroy Sting in the end!

"Nature Boy" Ric Flair vs. "Guardian Angel" Bubba Rogers w/Jimmy Hart

These two put on a solid matchup, as Flair sells for Rogers like he's killing him while Rogers takes enough punishment from Flair to be vulnerable. Flair even rips his Guardian Angel t-shirt at one point, before chopping on him like Rogers is a big oak tree! Flair looks to have things in hand, when Hart jumps on the apron. But it's not his night whatsoever, as while he has Nick Patrick's attention, Rogers comes right into a spinebuster from Arn Anderson! Flair throws an arm over Rogers, and he gets the win thanks to "The Enforcer"!

Winner: "Nature Boy" Ric Flair

http://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/SteveAustin.jpg

United States champion Stunning Steve Austin! Austin and Colonel Parker come out, and Austin has a smirk on his face as he walks to the ring.

Sting vs. Stunning Steve Austin w/Colonel Robert Parker

Sting is disappointed to not be facing Vader, but Austin seems very glad to be able to try and avenge his loss from last week. This time there is no Johnny B. Badd, and it leaves the two men plenty of room to have a good match, which is even, surprisingly given Stunning Steve, a clean match for most of it. However, "most" being the key word there. Sting rallies up at the end of the match, and he starts hitting Stinger Splashes in the corners and hooks on the Scorpion Deathlock. Austin is in agony, but Sting made one mistake - being too close to the ropes. While Randy Anderson is asking Austin if he quits, the Colonel reaches in and pushes Sting off of the move! The fans boo loudly, and it becomes intensified when Austin catches a small package when Sting comes back to apply the move again, getting the shocking three count!

Winner: Stunning Steve Austin

http://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/GreatMuta.jpg

After the match, Sting gets out of the ring, shaking his head but enough of a big man to let Austin have his moment in the sun. As he gets to the top of the ramp, The Great Muta comes out and meets him! The two have an intense staredown, which looks to be the end of the show, until Tony says wait wait, we have to go to the back, right now!

In the backstage area, we find Hollywood Hogan and Roddy Piper standing over a fallen Ric Flair! The heads of the KoW laugh loudly, and Piper can be heard remarking "Guess we know who can do gang warfare now, huh Ricky?" before stomping on Flair's back. Hogan leans over and brands Flair with the KoW letters again, and Tony and Bobby call for help as the show fades to black!

-----------------------

Time to catch up some feedback... I've really slacked on this.

Another really strong PPV, in terms of both the booking and the write-up. There may have been a lot of turns, but I bought into all of them (even if I do have a hard time picturing Evad Sullivan as a heel.)

The Stud Stable is much improved, but their theme song is always going to remind me of James "by god" Gibson tearing the house down in Ring of Honor. :)

I'd hope by now you can see where I'm going with Evad. And yes, the first thing I thought of was Gibson... but I went to one of my friends who likes country music and asked if they thought this song was better for a heel or a face, and heel won out, so the song now belongs to the Stable.

The other option was it would've gone to Tex & Shanghai... but I think it's much better for Parker and Co.

Not necessarily true. I usually rate Elizabeth on sex appeal in her angles with Savage, and those angles are almost a guaranteed A or A*.

Musta been a fluke that time, actually. As you can see, this show had almost the same angle, only with Piper involved, and it got a B. Either that or else TEW is crazy.

I'm not at all happy with the hotline. I am still waiting for my refund of 77.38 this is totally outrageous sir. :p

No refunds, sir, but we would like to mention that the WCW Catalog offer plenty of wonderful deals and savings that will make it so you still have money to pay your phone bill! :D

I'm quite pleased with myself for making that Muta pick. :D Also, Hayabusa and Hakushi are an interesting addition to the tag division. If you can just get their popularity up a bit, they should be a great team.

I felt clever as hell for making the talent trade to get Muta to face Sting. :D Was a little surprised at all the love for Lex to have made the jump. I would like to sign him at some point, but unfortunately I think his WWF contract is gonna be around for quite awhile.

Yeah after I debuted Onoo as a manager (I had him as a personality for awhile, hoping I could keep him sated until I found a place for him) I thought him bringing in two young, Japanese signings as a team would be a great idea. These two already have a team in the game (albeit with no xp) and it seemed believable for Hakushi to sign in the US, given it wasn't long after this timeframe he showed up in the WWF. Fun fact: "Hakushi" translates to "White Messenger". I didn't know that until I started looking up things.

Starting to read now, so i may go on to have a really bad score in the predictions.

Don't worry about it, I'm just glad to have new readers coming along :) I've been liking your WWF 99 as well, so it's cool seeing that you're into what I'm doing as well. Hope to keep you as a reader!

Why in God's name did you even bother typing "Hardwork" for Bobby Walker?!

:D to Chuck's comment on Bobby Walker. Bobby Walker should never win any match.

I dunno about anyone else, but I used to love how even the jobbers in WCW had some type of gimmick. I plan to eventually have some enhancement turnover, and when I do, I intend on keeping that alive!

Fun in-game fact: Bobby Walker has been getting mentored by Ricky Steamboat.

And much thanks to all the comments that have been left by alvarasus. He comments after pretty much every show, and I feel bad for never taking time to do exactly this and send some feedback in return to you all.

So, I'm one show (well, one SN and one ME, but since they're taped on the same night, one show) away from Fall Brawl. I want to ask everyone what they think of all the storylines I have running; is there anything you've gotten sick of seeing, anything you want to see get killed soon, anything you're especially into? After Fall Brawl, a lot of stories will be changing drastically, so I'm curious if you're ready to see some of the same things end that I'm ready to put down.

Also, fun fact: I'm a moron when it comes to storylines anymore. I've literally let two storylines get down to F+ momentum, before finding out that I was stupid. One was the Dustin/Meng storyline, because I didn't realize I'd left Meng as a supporting character when I took Parker out of it, and the other was Cactus/Sullivans, when I found out everything I'd booked hadn't been getting counted because I forgot to make it so Cactus wasn't allied with the two anymore. What a dumbass. Just a glimpse into my backstage - sometimes it's kinda like the actual WCW back here!

Next Hotline will be up tomorrow night at the latest.

Great show I am waiting for the arrival of the Four Horsemen. Well thanks for the shout out. You and Olympia have been my diary most constant posters so I try show the same to both of you guys. I am also wondering who the trinity are that seems interesting.

Storylines are hard to keep track of especially if you have a lot of them. You just got to constantly keep track of them when your booking your show that's all. I have had a couple that I had to kill because I didn't pay attention to them.

WCW Hotline: September 1994, Week 3

http://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/WCWHotline.jpg

WCW Hotline; September 1994, Week 3

Press 1 for WCW Fall Brawl control center!

Press 2 for information on the WCW United States Tag Team championships match at Fall Brawl!

Press 4 for WCW Saturday Night preview!

Press 5 for last week's ratings breakdown!

Press 8 for WWF Monday Night Raw results!

Press 9 for a special gift from the WCW Catalog!

Option 1: Fall Brawl control center!

Astute listeners heard during WCW Saturday Night that Ron Simmons will face off with Flyin' Brian one more time, and this time, it'll be a match with no count outs and no disqualifications! Will Brian finally get the respect he wants from Hollywood and the KoW, or will Simmons get revenge for the past two losses? Also, the Nasty Boys and Meng will take on Arn Anderson, Dustin Rhodes, and a mystery partner! Who do they have in the wings? Call your local pay-per-view providers for answers to these and many more questions, by ordering WCW Fall Brawl '94!

Option 2: A tag team battle royal?

You heard right fans, at WCW Fall Brawl, we will witness a twenty man over-the-top battle royal, between ten tag teams; the last men standing of their team will be awarded the WCW United States Tag Team championships! The teams involved include: the Rock 'n Roll Express, the Playboys, Tex Slazenger and Shanghai Pierce, the Armstrong Brothers, the State Patrol, Bad Attitude, Bunkhouse Buck and Terry Funk, the Rising Sons, the Young Pistols, and the Heavenly Bodies! Stars 'n Stripes will get a title shot in the near future, because they were unable to participate due to their match against Lord Steven Regal and Sir William, and due to their win on WCW Saturday Night, Harlem Heat will be awarded a shot at the WCW World Tag Team championships!

Option 4: WCW Saturday Night preview!

Last week, Ric Flair got beaten down by Hollywood Hogan and Roddy Piper! He offered up a warning, that Flair knows how to deal with this type of warfare; will there be retaliation?

Sting has heard the words said about him by Terry Funk, and he intends on calling out the veteran to hear it in his own words!

Since Stunning Steve Austin doesn't have a match at Fall Brawl, WCW Commissioner Nick Bockwinkel has stated that he must defend his title on WCW Saturday Night! Bockwinkel has lined up Hacksaw Jim Duggan as his challenger, as obviously the patriotic brawler would hold the WCW United States championship with honor. But will Austin ride his wave of momentum after last week's victory right into another win?

In the main event for the evening, Flyin' Brian is being regarded as a friend of Sting's, as the monstrous Vader has set his sights on him! Brian is set to face Ron Simmons at Fall Brawl, but after a match with Vader, will he even be able to make it to Fall Brawl?

WCW Saturday Night full card:

Vader w/Sonny Onoo vs. Flyin' Brian

WCW United States championship: Stunning Steve Austin w/Col. Rob Parker vs. Hacksaw Jim Duggan

The Rock 'n Roll Express vs. Harlem Heat

Stars 'n Stripes vs. Jean-Paul Lévesque and Lord Steven Regal w/Sir William

Diamond Dallas Page w/Diamond Doll vs. Ichii Yazaki

Option 5: Last week's wrestling show ratings!

WCW Saturday Night draw a remarkable 7.51 rating! Monday Night Raw went up to a 5.91. Obviously this was a good week for all wrestling. WCW Main Event got a 0.56.

Option 8: That Other Show!

The WWF led up to their second In Your House show with the September week 3 taping begs the question, is anybody going to buy a ticket to see Tatanka? Because he loses to Jeff Jarrett in the main event of the show. In the undercard, Randy Savage continues getting buried in the company, eating a loss to Shawn Michaels.

Option 9: A special gift from the WCW Catalog!

If you send a postcard with this week's date on it to the WCW Catalog, we'll give you 10% off the brand new, officially licensed Kings of Wrestling t-shirt!

<p>I like the Regal/Hs team. They probably could have been a pretty good one if H hadn't jumped to the WWF, but something tells me he doesn't regret that decision.</p><p> </p><p>

The Hank Williams song is definitely better suited to the Stud Stable than the not-yet-Godwins, yeah. It fits the Stable perfectly well; I just immediately associate it with Gibson.</p><p> </p><p>

I get why almost everyone (maybe everyone aside from me?) thought it would be Luger, considering his history with Sting. But Muta's got history with Sting too, and I thought he would make a lot more sense as someone Oono would bring in. I was right. <img alt=":D" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p>

You don't have any storyline that make me say "Oh, I can't wait for this to be finished!", but there are a few that look to be wrapping up. Off the top of my head, Hogan vs. Flair, Simmons vs. Pillman and the RnR vs. Harlem Heat are all feuds that I don't see stretching beyond Fall Brawl. Conversely, I think Sting/Vader has a lot of life left to it.</p><p> </p><p>

I have my own issues with running storylines. My biggest thing is I sometimes forget to <em>start</em> a storyline, even if it's already started in my booking. I just did that with my Ricky Steamboat/Harley Race program, actually. A shame, because the post-match angle that should have kicked it off drew a B+ rating. <img alt=":(" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/frown.png.e6b571745a30fe6a6f2e918994141a47.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p>

Sting is furious, and tells Funk that he needs to learn how to mind his own business, or else he'll send him back to Amarillo in a lot of pain! Funk asks if Sting is going to have Hogan and Piper attack him like they did to Flair last week, and that sets Sting off! The match is fine, but the crowd don't get into it much, as they're still murmering about what Ric Flair is talking about. It is a very "formula" RNR match, as Morton gets worked over by the Heat while Gibson keeps the fans invested, before the hot tag is made and Robert comes in to clean house. It's not the same as the match at the Clash, but it's very close. However, this time there are some extra guests. As Morton is outside the ring, in the front row of the crowd stand "Doctor of Desire" Tom Pritchard and "Gigolo" Jimmy Del Ray, the Heavenly Bodies! The Bodies keep Morton occupied without actively doing anything, and without his partner Gibson gets double teamed and nailed with the Big Apple Blast to give the Heat the guaranteed World Tag title shot!</p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong>Winners: Harlem Heat</strong></p><p> <em>Rating: C</em></p><p> </p><p> <span>http://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/TomPrichard.jpg</span><span>http://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/WCW-94/JimmyDelRay.jpg</span></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> After the match is over, the Bodies climb over the railing and get into the ring. To do so, he calls upon his son Dustin to come out. "The Natural" does so, and Dusty gets right to the point. The elder Rhodes says that he's been trying his best to stay out of his son's business and let him be his own man. But he wants to ask him, as a father, if he thinks he can trust people like Arn Anderson and Ric Flair. Dusty says that he's concerned, as while they seem to be doing what's right by Dustin, Dusty knows better than most about how quickly that can change. Dusty says he doesn't want to get in his boy's way, but he just wants Dustin to take a good look at those around him. He hands Dustin the microphone, who says that he appreciates his father's concern, but that he has no worries about his partners. Dustin says that with the training and teaching that he's learned from Flair and Arn, when put together with what he's learned from Dusty himself, one day "The Natural" will be unstoppable! He tells Dusty not to worry, because everything in their camp is fine. Dusty says alright, and after a brief hug, the two part ways, as Dusty goes back to commentary and Dustin heads to the back. Jack comes out from the back, armed with a steel chair, but Sullivan says that if he doesn't drop the chair, then this meeting isn't going to happen. Cactus complies, and enters the ring. Kevin says that he meant nothing personal by turning on Jack at the Clash, but it seems like Cactus wants it to be that way with how he's been chasing him around arenas. So Kevin offers a solution; "You get one match, Jack. You get one match against me, and then that's all. If you don't agree to that, then you get nothing."
