The Chaperone

You need to cast John Travolta as lead because of your previous commitment:

John Travolta

- He likes the idea of being the leading role in two movies in a row.

- With that said, he wants full creative control on the next film, as in he will filter out the cast he don't like from it. He will also give some feedbacks on scene and expect the crew to cooperate with him. (Don't worry too much, I won't be a pure di** and filter everyone or screw with you, but some adjustment can happen)

- He wants 500,000 now + 1,250,000 post-release + 10% of the film's profit.

You cannot proceed without doing so unless you talk to John Travolta to delay the agreement or whatever. Do note that if you put John Travolta into this movie, you have to pull off anyone that was in Tribal Survival because he refuse to work with them.

Serendipity 2: This Is It

You need to cast Anne Hathaway as at least second lead because of your previous commitment:

Anne Hathaway

- She is happy to have a bigger trailer.

- She wants a bigger role(at least second lead) in the 2nd and 3rd part of the trilogy.

- With that said, she will be fine with 1,200,000 for this one since she will eventually earn more by securing bigger roles in future anyway. She is fine taking only 200,000 upfront.

- The extra trailer space will cost you 50,000.

You cannot proceed without doing so unless you talk to Anne Hathaway for another arrangement.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Chimpanzombees

Idris Elba(1.75 SP)

- No problem on America accent.

- He would want 1,750,000.

- If you agree that he could do another film with you(within your next 6) and has at least a second lead(or important support if you will) then he can loewr the price to 1,350,000 and he will only take 650,000 upfront.

Dania Gurira(0.75 SP)

- She likes the character and will do the film for 660,000.

Andy Serkis(1.50 SP)

- He believes that he is one of the best when it comes to motion capture acting, so he would like 1,000,000 along with the 3% profit. He will just take 500,000 upfront if you agree.

Michael B Jordan(0.80 SP)

- He would take the role for 400,000.

Djimon Housou(1.15 SP)

- He would like 977,500.

- He would take 500,000 up front if you agree for him to do another movie within your next 5 movies. At least a support role.

David Hasselhoff(1.40 SP)

- Cameo role really isn't that valuable. He would do a cameo for free though if you would give him at least a supporting role(as in minor support) in your next 6 films(so 1 free cameo + 1 support role). If you would take the idea, he would do this for 460,000.

Gbenga Akinnagbe(0.65 SP)

- He would take it for 260,000.

Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje(1.00 SP)

- Taking the role for 450,000.

Sasha Grey(0.15 SP)

- She would take the cameo role for 10,000 OR for free if you can give her at least a supporting role in your next 5 movie.

George A Romero(1.80 SP)

- He think he can handle the film pretty well with some Romero-esque direction, 750,000 + 20% OR 200,000 + 32.5%.

Lowest cost:

Pre-release: 4,090,000

Post-release: 1,675,500 + 32.5%

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

On a separate note. I saw somebody, can't remember who mention product placement. Is this a possibility and if so, how do I go about it? Could always use the extra scratch :)

On the last version, I tried product placement but now that I think of it, it's probably a no for now. It's just free cash out of nowhere by fulfilling some requirement, which I find make the fun easier. I think the game should be a bit difficulty in the starting phase so trying to limit bonus is one of the goal. I think it will make doing good movies more rewarding and fun for the players if it's the only way to get cash.

HOWEVER, it's find to co-create a movie with other studios. Or you can also borrow money from another studio to make your film. This is fine because it creates interaction between players which is always good.

EDIT: The flashback was supposed to show he got shot just below the knee, therefore he was deemed physically unable to work the street. :p But I agree with all your other points.

Been meaning to reply this but has not on multiple occasion. I think it's better in the current version. Unless the injury is permanent, he could get back to the street anyway and if the injury is permanent, beating a group of terrorist with a bad knee way too hard to be a one man job. I could buy it better if he has a partner to help him but for him to solo everyone alone is a pretty tough sale. Just my opinion and I understand that action films have main character defying impossible odds too so it isn't do-able.

I am fine with how you portrayed it, more my own fault for not going more into it in post-production, he was moved to a desk job, and overlooked every time when they needed officers on the street, as well that it effected him mentally, hence the sweating after taking out the first terrorist.

But it's fine. :)

Hack/Slash

Review by: Mr.G

Finally, a movie about Hack/Slash. Rumor has it that the franchise is in development hell for quite a while but eventually it got assigned to a smaller studio. Wow, bold move there by the owner of Hack/Slash franchise. Is that a good move? We will see in the next few minutes. The movie starts up pretty well, which is pretty essential for a good movie, and it eventually leads to a battle with the first villain of this film, Acid Angel. So far, so good.

This leads the audience into the main story of this movie(according to the plot summary), the (not really a) vacation of Cassie and Vlad. The main story is mainly about Laura Lochs reviving Father Wrath and go on with a killing spree over the vacation spot that Cassie and Vlad are in. Well, more work for the Slasher Hunters and no vacation at all. Most of the gore and horror come from the part where Father Wrath and Laura Lochs doing their dirty work throughout Palm Springs but eventually Cassie and Vlad are there for the rescue.

Huge fighting scenes ensue between the two sides. Vlad goes rampage against Father Wrath but Father Wrath does his fair share of job on Vlad as well before losing and get thrown back to hell through the mirror he came from. Laura isn't that good of a fighter though so she has to use necromancy and trickery to equal the playground. Sadly for her, such trickery isn't enough to hold off the bad-ass Cassie and Laura eventually pays her price and...it's done. Oh, there's also hints of a sequel at the end.

With a running time of 82 minutes, there just doesn't seem to be enough content to satisfy the masses, the main story part is especially too little. An ordinary movie usually has a 1:2:1 ratio between act 1,2 and 3. Of course, it's not an universal formula but it does has its reason. Much like eating a meal in a restaurant, the portion of appetizer and dessert are not going to be more than the main dish. The "main dish" of Hack/Slash appears to be a bit on the minimal side which involves the protagonists getting to the location and then just beat the crap out of the antagonists. I would prefer a little more build-up for a better climax and end fight.

The comic book cutscenes are a pretty cool idea to say the least, but using it too many times can be repetitive. It's not too bad and should be good for the comic book fans out there but I am just thinking that maybe the studio can use a more "cinema-ish" way to present the story on occassion. The studio can just expand them instead of using cutscenes to give more contents to the main story part of the movie and also at the same time, give those moviegoers that are new the Hack/Slash an easier access to the universe of Hack/Slash. After all, the book fans probably know who and what already; the movie should try to get more people into becoming fans of the franchise.

I also think that this film is more of a Horror Action than straight Horror. As I have mentioned above, the main horror part are merely when Father Wrath and Laura Lochs slaughter the crap out of the the vacation spot. Other than that, it's highly action -- clever one-liners(some bad but mostly good and even, great), tons of fighting scenes and you probably can't get away from action if it's a comic book.

Ultimately, I give this 3.0 stars. It could have been higher if the act 2 is more packed with content.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Misc. Information

- Some hardcore horror fans are disappointed by the style of this film, as it's not their cup of scary, horror type of film. This affects the box office a little bit after words come out in various review sites. Many that watch this are fans of the original comic book(the ads behind the comic book have been very helpful) and ultimately, it doesn't bring in too many new fans.

- The trend helps slightly in bringing more box office.

- Many moviergoers wished that the film could be longer, seeing that there should be more than enough content to draw from the comic book if needed. The production value is solid enough for the film to be longer too, it could use more marketing budget though.

- The high production value of this film actually makes the DVD sales higher, that helps the revenue a little bit.

- GM's Note: It's struggle between 3.0 and 3.25 but ultimately I give you 3.0 but it's very close to a 3.25. I just think that the minor negatives weigh more than the minor positives. A better act 2 could make this a 3.5 and maybe even 3.75, as act 2 makes up the main part of a movie and is the hardest act to write.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Revenue: 12,745,000

Budget: 3,500,000

----------------------------

Gross Profit: 9,245,000

Post-release: 2,150,000

20% Bonus: 1,849,000

25% Franchise: 2,311,250

10% Co-Studio: 924,500

----------------------------

Net Profit: 2,010,250

The World's not Round Studio's new capital = 3,000,000 + 2,010,250 = 5,010,250

GM's Note: In case one wonder why the revenue is so high for a 3 stars. The "profit adjustment" is in place, to increase the revenue reasonably to stimulate the franchise drawing power yet some of the money are given back to the franchise, to make sure the player doesn't get rich too fast if they can just directly ask for huge franchise.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Impact

- Many consider Alexz Johnson to be the one that underperformed in this film. Her SP has decreased from 0.70 to 0.60 because of this.

- Cortney Palm gets more recognition out there, at the very least, the fanboys of Hack/Slash will remember her name. Cortney Palm's SP increased from 0.40 to 0.65.

- Many internet forums are debating about Ron Perlman's performance with the most popular topic being "Hellboy vs Vlad". Ron Perlman's attention has given him some SP boost, from 1.90 to 2.00.

- Tim Seeley is overall happy with the performance of the movie. He gives your studio first dip on securing a right to the sequel.

- BONUS: Comic Hero: The studio garners a fair share of interest among comic book producers. In your next negotiation of comic book adaptation, you will be given better offer from the owner of said franchise.

Chimpanzombees

Danina Gurira

- She considers for quite sometime and even talk with her agent. David Hasselhoff

- How about 310,000 + 1%? He needs that 10,000 to pay off some hospital bill. Bad health is a bi***.

Here is my counter and its a bit of a change from where we were. The Hoff gets $50k now (essentially cameo money) + 1% from the OST AND I give him the lead in a future spin-off film.

I need all the cash I can have for marketing/production so if he isn't happy with this or something very similar, I will probably just cut the character

In the previous agreement, he gets:

- lead in future movie

- full creative control

Giving him lead again is not needed so that's not a deal. I will give you more tips I guess, based on previous movie, Travolta will definitely be in your next movie as lead because of the agreement. You just need to calm his monkey ass down in this one by giving him something. You can lower the 40% to a number you would like, or you can offer him money instead of %.

Edit: I think I am delaying you too much so I will just make it easier for you:

John Travolta can wait for the next movie but he expect a BIG pay day out of it. If you are fine with this request, then he will stop bugging you...for now.

I'll be fine with that.

Chemistry bonus is a very good idea, I will see if I can implement it ASAP.

Let me know if i can help at all
