First match, with the two biggest jobbers in the C-Verse (Ben Williams vs The Scotsman). Really liking the auto-generated movesets, even at cost of a slight slowdown on my machine. Match seemed to play more fluidly than WS2, and I like the calculation button, it really adds to knowing why you screwed up.

One match alone has convinced me to not wait a week to purchase, this is a day one buy from me.

First match. Christian Price vs Fate. The storyline suggested it would be a walk in the park, but it still took 16 minutes, despite me getting him down to 0& health in about 8. It's entirely probable I just don't know how to play, but first impression is of frustration, and having far too many moves at my disposal.

And were you using the Calculation button to find out why you were failing in whatever strategy you were using?

Notes I made on my first go...

1. Windows 8 and Norton both tried to block me from installing the game. They claimed the download was unsafe. I allowed the download, so no problem, but I just wondered if it was something that needed addressing. Some people might be put off by that if it were to happen to them.

+ The front page menu. I liked the design. Cool.

- The main menu. A complete contrast to the front page. Ugly and uninspired.

+ Easy start-up for a new game. If memory serves me well, it's a lot easier to start a new game than Wrespi2. Less menus and nit-picky choices.

+ Auto-generate move-set. Saves a lot of time for those who just want to get on with the game. Also has the option to pick your own moves as in Wrespi2. More freedom and choice. Although, I would like to see an "add selected" button next to the "select all button".

For some reason my choice of finishers seemed limited. I chose a brawling style and couldn't find any submission moves. I'm guessing this has something to do with the style I chose.

During the match I played I again countered limited finisher choice. My momentum was up, his was down... ripe conditions for a finisher yet the only move I could perform was "call for finisher taunt". I can't work out what I'm supposed to do.

VERDICT: PROMISING

You'll have very few submission moves if you have no Grappling or Ground skills, for example.

In your example, you appear to be looking for finishers while the opponent is down, but are a brawler - you're unlikely to have ground-based finishers, so should instead be looking for things like lariats and powerbombs while you're both standing. Your finishers are listed in the Move Set section of your profile, as well as the Move Set section of the main career menu.

Edit: Bah, Adam beat me too it and said practically the same thing. ¬_¬

+ Auto-generate move-set. If you want one you can go into the in-game editor, copy the move you want and reduce it's requirements from the Requirements tab so that you're able to perform it, then add it to your movelist and Trademark it (so that other wrestlers can't use the copy). That would probably simulate things like Undertaker using his Triangle Choke.

During the match I played I again countered limited finisher choice. As a brawler, your finishing moves are probably mainly executed with your opponent standing up, so if he's on the floor you'd need to pick him up first. Also check if the move you want to perform requires you to be behind your opponent.

I really like the addition of change rate for a company setting. I think it would also be cool to add to TEW in the future as an owner setting.

Also Casey Valentine found his way into USPW, how did that happen? <img alt=":p" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

Not sure if this is a typo, but "Buldging Biceps?" Think there is an unnecessary D in there.

Edit: Feet of Fire 3 has an ": Exit Function" text in the description field. Doesn't cause an error, just has that added in the text field.

Poking through the editor and I love the different attributes available. You weren't kidding when you said they would open up new options for strategy.

Enjoying it so far. I randomly chose Warren Technique, who to my surprise was CGC Canadian champion. I did a storyline where I had to defend the title against four people (that's a lot of title defenses in on month!) and while I beat Shane Nelson in the first bout, I lost to Vin Tanner.

Month 2 and I have no choice but to do the "Under Pressure..." storyline as I was now in danger of dropping a level in popularity. I had to beat three people, and I beat Thrill Seeker and Shane Nelson (again) relatively easily (I was getting more used to the system), but then I got Lariat'd out of my boots by Dallas McWade and lost the storyline and dropped to Indy Star level, which according to the chart for CGC (a large company) that puts me on their lowest level.... sorry, Warren!

I'll be doing Month 3 in a bit. The only thing I'll say that's a negative about the game is that it doesn't feel like I'm working for a company because there is no indication of what event I'm wrestling at, you know? Each match just happened, it would be nice to see the TV show logo and then for the last match of the storyline, it happens at the big show. I know it technically wouldn't make any difference and would be hard to get round for promotions that only run one show a month (without drastically limiting their storylines!), but it would make it seem more realistic...

Otherwise, I'm having a blast, and I can only imagine what a real life mod or two would be like...

Just had a 5 star match in exhibition with Wolf Hawkins against Rocky Golden.

Match went 33 minutes before I finally lost to The Rack. Rocky kicked out of 3 Full Moon Risings though the ref was out of position on one and Hawkins took long getting to the cover on another. Down the stretch it really actually felt like a big match was happening. Excerpt from the final moments

(31:22) Golden countered a Full Moon Rising with a High Backdrop

(31:35) Golden hit a Posing Elbow Drop

(31:49) Golden used a Get Up Taunt

(32:15) Golden applied The Rack

(32:26) *** Golden submitted Hawkins

There was a ref bump that ended with me bringing in a chair to hit a Russian legsweep on it in addition to numerous low blows and eye pokes from Hawkins because Rocky is a machine, there is no other way to put it.

Also really like the minimum move level filter
