RULES

  1. Credit goes to The Curator/mistaken and The Final Countdown for the layout here.

  2. You have 3 votes to nominate , 1 for each category

  3. All non-Cornellverse diaries (both real world and fantasy) have been combined into a 'Mod' category.

  4. You may substitute your C-Verse nomination for a 2nd Mod nomination, or vice versa.

  5. Please place a link to the diary you are nominating.

  6. In the Monthly Spotlight category, you will single out a specific aspect of a diary that particularly impressed you over the course of the month, be it a match, show, angle, storyline, development of a character, etc.

  7. You may not nominate yourself

  8. All nominations must include a reason

  9. Nominations do NOT need a second. So, once a diary has been nominated PLEASE do NOT nominate it again!

  10. No Rookie DOTM this month so everyone qualifies for Cornellverse/Mod DOTM as long as there is one show in the current month.

<p>Cornellverse DOTM: Gonna nominate MPWF: The American King Of Lucha by smwilliams. I thought MPWF was basically doomed because they seemed to be the odd man out in this Mexican warfare, but smwilliams has done a terrific job in making a bizarre, interesting to watch soap opera lucha promotion. All he needs is weekly TV and hes in business for a DOTY candidate.</p><p> </p><p>

Monthly Spotlight: Paracops are awesome, and this is a fact that everybody knows. Yeah, Everybody Knows, and thankfully everybody includes Phantom Stranger. If the Paracops were heads of an IRL police force......they'd prolly still be more competent than the LAPD, but not by much.</p><p> </p><p>

Monthly Spotlight #2: One of the best cards in all of TEW2013 history, Self's CGC Chamber of Horrors may not have been a ratings success, but it was a great bread+butter PPV that established good storylines and points of contention that were settled in an in-ring confrontation, leading to more points of contention. This is not rocket science, TNA! Also, Trent Shaffer and Christian Price beat a dozen midgets cosplaying as the Anti-Justice League while they were the Justice League. This PPV ruled.</p><p> </p><p>

I'm going to nominate 20LEgend's <a href="http://www.greydogsoftware.com/forum/showthread.php?t=525142" rel="external nofollow">USPW: Valentine's Massacre</a> for DOTM. Between Shane Sneer pretending he doesn't run things, the impending implosion by Peter Valentine, Guide's new character, it's just an overall enjoyable read about the old farts in USPW.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>REAL WORLD</strong></p><p><strong>

</strong>My nomination goes out to christmas ape's <a href="http://www.greydogsoftware.com/forum/showthread.php?t=526599'" rel="external nofollow">WWE: New School</a>. Love the storyline with Taker/Shield, Daniel Bryan's road to Wrestlemania (which we all know is happening), Heyman vs Punk. The format makes it a quick, easy read as well which is nice sometimes.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>MONTHLY SPOTLIGHT</strong></p><p><strong>

</strong>Have to go with Money apparently somehow turning Vengeance human in Eisen-verse's <a href="http://www.greydogsoftware.com/forum/showthread.php?t=522476" rel="external nofollow">SWF: Where Men Become LEGENDS</a>. Awesome angle that flips the script in terms of their previous relationship.</p>

It's much like train etiquette. Super. Simple.Stuff. It works really well in this case, easy to read, good humour, TCP1 doesn't take himself too seriously when writing it and you can tell he is interested in his own game here.</p><p> </p><p>

This is the sort of diary that shows you can make it really light and keep the interest. In my opinion, it is an inspiration to budding diary writers who can't commit to the image heavy, uber-long shows.</p>

It's succinct, funny and the the lead character is equal parts douchebag and legend in the making. I especially love his horrible mistreatment of his own boss Carl Batch, who he has dress in a series of humbling costumes (I like him having to announce upcoming matches dressed as a hobo).

 


Highly recommend for those who like the more simple approach to dynasties.

It was a great PPV and it definitely is a good example of how to go big and get away with it. Great visual and excellent write ups, which didn't became boring despite being long in some matches. Definitely a good example on how to write a great ppv.

I'm not sure if nominations are still open but as I've not seen the polls come up I'll assume I can get mine in.

 

For monthly spotlight I'd like to nominate The_Lloyd's TLC PPV. I had to double check it was in the month but luckily it was. Great show all round. the graphics gave it a nice little touch and the 6 man TLC match was a nice idea done well.

 

And for Mod diary I'd like to nominate Kijar's TNA diary. I'm always wary of TNA diaries when I see plenty of WWE signings but it has helped him create a unique TNA. Nominating it this month in particular because I've enjoyed the BFG series.

Mod DOTM 2: <a href="http://www.greydogsoftware.com/forum/showthread.php?t=526255" rel="external nofollow">WCW 1997 - Putting the ship right </a> by solidliquid777. I don't think this one gets as many comments as it deserves, and hopefully this nomination will get some more people to check it out. I really liked the changes he made at Starrcade '97 and the different direction he's taking into '98. </p><p> </p><p>

Spotlight: <a href="http://www.greydogsoftware.com/forum/showpost.php?p=1963579&postcount=610" rel="external nofollow">Hollywood Blonds Reunion</a> at Spring Stampede in Beejus' WCW '94: War of the Thrones. The whole PPV was great, but this part deserves special recognition.</p>

It feels like a few of my favorite games have kinda fallen off the radar a bit, but I still have the old standby favorite to nominate in <a href="http://www.greydogsoftware.com/forum/showthread.php?t=523965" rel="external nofollow">WWF: The Golden Age...and beyond</a> by TFC. Really, unless he's already won last month, I don't see any reason why this shouldn't be in the running each month.</p><p> </p><p>

I'll also go with my other favorite diary to nominate, <a href="http://www.greydogsoftware.com/forum/showthread.php?t=525192" rel="external nofollow">WCW: The Quest For The Lost Glory</a> by TheBigBad1013. Starrcade has been built up well, and I'm excited for the REAL Granddaddy of 'em all.</p><p> </p><p>

As for Monthly Spotlight, how has it gone this long and <a href="http://www.greydogsoftware.com/forum/showpost.php?p=1963860&postcount=216" rel="external nofollow">NWA Fall Brawl</a> in Ritchardo's JCP 1988: The Alliance Fights Back not been nominated? The show was Horsemen city, but all the drama that's gone on there has been incredible; headlined by a match between friends and a match between bitter enemies, and both of them were top notch.</p>
