Official WWF Superstar List

[Editing Notes: I went through a bit of to-do in order to secure this exact list. This "official" list does not feature people who are on my "jobber deals", as I made a copied game so that I could release all of those. So this is the exact placement of everyone if I did not have any extra enhancement people around. Also, I edited Sable so that she could be an active wrestler. I bumped up a few of her stats; don't worry, she is still terrible, but she's not straight zeroes in places they shouldn't be now. Also, Brooklyn Brawler has, as of April 1st, been moved to road agent instead of occasional wrestler. Also included: links for everyone who has their own entrance music. Not only for your benefit, but also so that when I want to find what song I used for someone in particular, I don't have to remember it or go searching the thread for an hour.]

This has felt like a long time in coming, but I ran upon a few minutes of time to do so, so it's time to reply to some comments you've all so graciously left me!

Shawn Michaels w/Chyna vs. The Undertaker
Comments: I have a feeling that this year's Mania will end on a high note, with a face winning the gold

Kane w/Paul Bearer vs. Vader

Comments: Kane is younger, and can only go up.

3. If any, how many turns will there be? 1. I don't know why, and I don't recall seeing any signs of it, but I just had this bizarre flash that Chainsaw Charlie will turn on Cactus, costing them the title match and leading to a Cactus/Funk feud. No reason to suspect it. Just one of those "Try to guess where Beejus is going to go with it" moments

Well a face won the gold, but he turned heel immediately after, so I guess call that a push? <img alt=":p" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

Only one person went Vader. I know it was by DQ, but now I hope people can see why I went that route. Kane still looked awesome, but Vader wins the match so that he now faces off for the World title at Unforgiven. Also, as young a character as Kane is, while I may not have him get outwardly beaten yet, I feel he can still eat a DQ loss now and then.

Well, you were semi-right; the Charlie turn was in process, but the trigger wasn't pulled until the next night. A few people actually seemed to predict this turn, though; am I starting to get that readable? <img alt="" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/eek.png.0e09df00fa222c85760b9bc1700b5405.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

Comments: Jannetty would be cool, but I think you might scrap the LHW title soon, so Taka wins here to get us closer to its almost inevitable demise. Aguila is Essa Rios right?

Ah, but you forget that this is Russo-land WWF, where everyone gets a title. As such, I don't plan on scrapping the belt, no matter how much in-character Vince McMahon doesn't care about it. And yes, Aguila is masked Essa Rios; but no Lita for quite awhile yet.

The Artist Formerly Known as Goldust w/Sinful Sherri vs. Ken Shamrock
Comments: Goldust is a JTTS. Don't change, Russ.

Hunter Hearst Helmsley w/Chyna vs. Owen Hart
Comments: I can't see you shitting on Owen as much as they did in real life.

The Artist Formerly Known as Goldust w/Sinful Sherri vs. Ken Shamrock

Comments: As much of a Shamrock mark as I am, you seem to be pushing Goldy hard. (Also, I love putting Sherri with him)

Marc Mero & Ivory vs. ??? & Sable

Comments: No clue who ??? is, but I never bet against him.

I will proclaim that I am definitely not going to give Owen the shaft as hard as IRL WWF did. And he will definitely not be joining the Nation; I am transferring into the Nation vs DX, but Owen isn't the catalyst, Mr. McMahon is. So yes, Owen's trajectory will shoot much higher than just the Euro title. And also, he has bad chemistry teaming with Jarrett.

I'm glad people like Goldust and Sherri. I know Sherri wasn't exactly the "hot, young diva" that the WWF was pushing at the time, but given that she had (IRL) recently told off Eric Bischoff and been blackballed from WCW, it seemed fitting that Vince would hire her again as a middle finger to Eric.

Yeah... I left the vaguest of clues about Sable finding her partner in a bar (i.e. Toughman competitions) but I probably could have done that one better. Well, Butterbean was a one-time deal, so in the future, if I leave a mystery partner, it's probably going to be someone who all might know.

Shawn Michaels w/Chyna vs. The Undertaker
Comments: I'll give ya one thing Beej, you really know how to make main events at big PPVs hard to predict(I'm looking at you Sting vs Hogan). Feeling you'll step away from history and continue HBK's reign. Sensing that Kane will screw him

Kane w/Paul Bearer vs. Vader

Comments: This is pretty easy to me. Unless a DQ

The Rock vs. Faarooq

Comments: While Rocky does feel above the IC title, he could do plenty to elevate it.

Marc Mero & Ivory vs. ??? & Sable

Comments: Val Venis?

Taka Michinoku vs. Brian Christopher vs. Aguila vs. Cyclope vs. El Dandy vs. Marty Jannetty

Comments: I'm a TAKA guy

Well Kane definitely had a part to play in the main event, but it wasn't screwing his brother over. Should have stuck with that DQ thought for Vader, lol.

Given the IC title's floating status, I think that for right now, he's pretty perfect with it. I need to start giving him some better wins with it though, because if you notice from December to now, the prestige of it has dropped; very slightly, but I noticed it.

Val would have been really good here... but the Butterbean thing was because I couldn't get him in time for IYH:DX like they did IRL. So I pushed him back to Mania, and it.... sucked. Should have gone with Val.

I love Taka too! Especially his entrance theme. "Yamoto Suite" was an awesome piece of music. It's too bad he got chained down to the WWF instead of being in WCW's cruiserweight division where he could have just heeled out all over guys like Rey and Kidman.

This is my favorite time period and maybe my favorite year of wrestling ever and you're doing it justice. Great job!

Thanks! And you've always been inclined to end the Streak on some games, so let's see.

I do think that in-game, unless you make it into a main event title, The Streak has no significance. However, I knew from the start of this game that I was planning to write Shawn out and that the BSK would form at WM. Will that hold true until next Mania? I guess we shall see in a year's time, won't we? <img alt=";)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/wink.png.686f06e511ee1fbf6bdc7d82f6831e53.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

A+ show Beej. Can't wait to see where the whole Tully, Ken, and Jake thing is going.

I'm glad that this story seems to have garnered so much attention. I hope that I've spelled out the "why" factor well enough on Raw, but all in all, Goldust is fast becoming one of my more difficult yet favorite characters to write. As much as I liked writing "Loose Cannon" Brian Pillman in War, he still is shackled to the limits of being in 1995 WCW. TAFKA Goldust, on the other hand, has no such limits.

Damnit, I missed out on predicting for Mania! Heck, I didn't even see that the go-home show was posted until after Mania was already up!

Oh well. I'll try and leave more complete feedback later, as I'm just about to head to bed so I can be up bright and early for work, but I can't do so before saying that the ending to that show was both unexpected (for me, at least) and awesome. There were a few different ways I saw that match potentially going, and I think what you actually did was far better and should make for some really intriguing stories going forward.

I kinda feel bad because I had considered PM'ing people who I knew were readers when this came back and then when it came time to predicting for Mania, but then I just figured that there had been enough time <img alt=":(" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/frown.png.e6b571745a30fe6a6f2e918994141a47.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /> Glad that my surprise at the end worked so well though, and like with Goldust/Jake/Tully, I hope that it was explained on Raw well enough.

The Slingshot Suplex looked horribly stupid in 1988 too. You can mock Rock and Cena all you want, but Tully has the worst finisher by a main eventer ever.

Personally, I have always liked the idea behind the slingshot suplex <img alt=":p" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /> it's all about that extra momentum. But to each their own; in-character Vince agrees with you.

Wow, great show, Beej! I feel like I've been waiting half my life for this very event, but you've done it justice. And what I really like is you've come so far from reality by now, it'll be great to see where you go from here! As I've said before, I feel like every time I've played this Mod that it's only past Wrestlemania where I really begin to sense that the game has diverged from reality and it's truly mine.

On a side note, it's quite pleasing for me that you and I have both hosted the exact same event within 24 hours of each other and they are distinctly different:

- completely different competitors for the Tag Titles

- I had women's title, you had Light Heavyweight (both sucked)

- different challengers for Michaels' WWF Championship and both with completely unexpected swerves for endings that (I hope) no-one saw coming

- different directions for the Nation of Domination with different characters, although both our Wrestlemania's saw the birth of the Godfather

- the biggest similarity I see is we both had Faarooq vs The Rock for the IC Title, with roughly the same result, although we got their from different directions

Anyway, this has been a great ride from the start and one of the few dynasties I've managed to keep up with from the very start. Keep up the good work, looking forward to seeing how some of these developments play out over the next few months!!

---

And goddammit, it seems like after waiting forever to predict on Wrestlemania I didn't even ****ing get around to doing it!! FML

---

Wow, so Michaels HAS retired?? So you're forging ahead without Michaels AND Austin?? Man, that's going to be challenging, and interesting!'

Like I said, I had thought about sending out PMs, but I didn't know that nobody saw the final Raw go up <img alt=":(" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/frown.png.e6b571745a30fe6a6f2e918994141a47.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /> But yeah, I agree about how awesome it is that, despite our games starting from the same moment, they have diverged so much. That is exactly the reason that I wrote Austin out at the beginning, because otherwise there is absolutely no reason to not just give him the Rumble and the title. And to be even more divergent, we are also using two different forms of The Godfather; mine is not the fun pimp, but rather still a quiet member of The Nation, albeit one with a valet and a long nickname!

As far as Michaels, yeah, even I feel like I'm really kneecapping myself with this, but it really felt like the only way to go. I strongly believe that his retirement had less to do with his back (which he could have just taken some time off to get surgery and heal up from within way less than four years) and more to do with getting him one, out of the way of the Austin Train, and two, off-screen so he can stop getting so much hate after Montreal. After he left for a few months, then he came back as a big time face again, and there's no way that would've happened if he hadn't left for a while. Now; does this mean his return is imminent? Of course it does! However, I am going to spoil this: there is a narrative in (I think) 2002 that says Shawn is feeling up to an in-ring return, and that's the only time I feel I would want to bring him back - if this game were to ever go that long!

That was an incredible ending to an incredible show.

Thanks!

Sweet layout beej. I gotta say, the trio of Goldust, Tully, and Jake is certainly one of the strangest trios I've seen.

Sweet layout as in the show or the roster list? I've been told (and I was feeling it too) that I have let myself get very "wall-of-text" in here lately, and the new setup is to stop that from happening. And like I said, I am liking having Goldust/Tully/Jake as a team. Whenever I get around to my next newswire post, I am going to elaborate a bit on Jake's return to the WWF through Vince's eyes, so stay tuned for that.

Did Hawk get injured in your game?? My games NEVER get injuries, I sometimes worry if there's something wrong with my copy of TEW. Like, this would be my sixth serious game and I don't remember an injury other than a starting one, ever.

Yeah, Hawk got a torn quad back in December during a match with the Godwinns; the very week before I had set up the LOD vs NAO street fight >_< I'm playing with injury frequency on high, just to give myself that much more of a potential challenge; however my danger/intensity levels are still at 20/40, so it's not affecting me too badly. Hawk has been the only serious injury I've come upon. I think Phineas was out for a few days at one point, but it was healed by the next show.

Thanks to everyone who has left me comments, I definitely love to read what you all think about my field of shattered glass!
