I have the show booked, depending on how a few things go over the next few days I may have it posted next week. Trust me, I want to get to WrestleMania as much as you all do! :p

Thank you to all who have already predicted, keep in mind that I will not go through predictions until right about when I post WM itself, so if you would want to change any picks, there will still be time after I post the next Raw.

After the opening pyro, Jim Ross and Jim Cornette hype up what should be a great evening, only six days away from the greatest spectacle in sports entertainment, WrestleMania. They talk about the main event this evening, as Mr. McMahon has booked what could be a “game changing” match between The Undertaker and his brother Kane. Cornette performs well off-script here, talking about how this one match, a first meeting between brothers, has been in the making for these two behemoth's entire lives, and says that Paul Bearer will be laughing in his coffin if Kane is able to hurt The Undertaker.

Out to the ring I walk, sans Pat and Gerry, and I take up the microphone from Howard. I talk about being a visionary, someone who knows what to do and when to do it; “just ask over half the people who work down South about that”. I talk about how in time, I could do business with anybody – but one man who would refuse to do business every day of the week is one “Stone Cold” Steve Austin. The crowd go crazy for him, but I cut them off by saying that save for the birth of my children, the day Steve Austin got hurt was the happiest day of my life! The crowd are just putty in my hands here, and it's great. I talk about how much money and revenue Steve Austin would have cost this company had he ever worn the WWF title, and how “even a bunch of degenerates would be better than some beer swilling redneck!” This leads into lambasting Gorilla Monsoon for putting Austin into a special enforcer's slot for the main event of WrestleMania, saying that WrestleMania was great with Mike Tyson at ringside watching over things, but now in six days, it could become a disaster. This causes

, and the crowd blow the roof off as “Stone Cold” Steve Austin marches down to the ring. He takes a microphone and even though I am scowling to sell the story, I can't help but feel a tug at my heart on the inside as I look at all the money I may have lost out by putting Austin at the top of the WWF. He says that he's been sitting at home drinking all the beer that he can buy off of the paychecks he's been getting from the WWF to sit on his ass. He gets face to face with me and says that indefinite suspension is just a fancy word for “Stone Cold's Texas vacation” but as much beer as he's been enjoying, one thing was more calming for him, and that's beating the living hell out of Vince McMahon! He says that when President Monsoon contacted him, he jumped at the chance just so he could come back and screw with any plans that I might have for WrestleMania. Austin shows that great crowd connection that he has, asking them “if anyone wants to see Vince McMahon get dropped with a Stone Cold Stunner for old time's sake, give me a hell yeah!” and they immediately react to the positive. I bugged my eyes out, but before Austin can deliver on his promise,
blares over the arena, and we are joined by Shawn Michaels and Mike Tyson, along with Chyna at their side. They enter the ring and Shawn does the talking (of course) as Tyson stands there as the muscle. Michaels tells Austin that there will be no Stone Cold Stunners tonight, nor ever again, because if there are, he doesn't care if Austin is a fellow native Texan like himself or not, he would have to sic “The Baddest Man on the Planet” on Austin's sorry ass! However, Shawn then turns to me, and he says that this is all my fault! “If you'd have stopped the match last week, then he would not have become involved with the title match at WrestleMania!” Shawn tells everyone that there is are two very simple mottos involved with D-Generation X; one of them says that “you make the rules and we'll break them,” and the other is for if you don't agree with the first one: “suck it!” He says that he doesn't work well with “stuffy business types” and he'll only do business if it suits him; and Steve Austin is bad business. He says that he is “The Showstopper, The Main Event” and as such he doesn't get told what to do or who is going to have an effect on his matches, because the only thing that affects his match is when he dances on his opponent's face and they go down for the one, two, three. Austin steps forward and says that if Shawn wants to keep running his mouth, maybe he needs a “Stone Cold” ass whipping to get to the point. Shawn then says that “the point is, maybe you, Steve Austin, can cause lesser men to fear for their asses, but there is a badder man than Steve Austin walking the halls of the WWF nowadays, and he's with me!” Mike Tyson goes nose-to-nose with Austin, and I call for security to get in here right now! I ask them to “escort Mr. Austin, Mr. Tyson, and Mr. Michaels out of my building right now,” saying that the three of them are not on active duty tonight, and so they have no reason to be here. Tyson makes a fake-out move at Austin before turning and laughing with Shawn, but when he turns back around Austin flips him the bird, then shoves Tyson! The crowd are cheering, as this causes a pull apart with all the security members, with Shawn cheering Tyson on from the corner! I tell all of them to get out of here, but the lights go dark and now the crowd are really in a frenzy as
sounds over the arena! Among purple smoke he walks out of the entrance to the top of the ramp, and he says simply “One enforcer; two enforcers; fifty enforcers; a million enforcers; I don't care how many people stand around at ringside, as long as someone counts one, two, three. In six days, you, Shawn Michaels, will finally rest… in… peace.” This segment was almost a masterpiece, as everyone brought something new to the debate each time, and it gave us a good shot to use in future video packages of Austin and Tyson. Mike seemed to underperform, getting lost in the shuffle of all these people talking, while even in not having a lot to say, Undertaker really worked the crowd well. It showed everyone's intentions very well, and needless to say, I think they'll be sticking around for this episode of Raw.

Scorpio vs. Faarooq

The area was cleared out during commercial break before we started our first match. In hindsight, we could have filled the space following that opening with something to cool the crowd down a little, but at this point we were about 10 minutes into the show, so Lanza had said we needed a match to put on. In that vein, we put on a battle of The Nation and Faarooq, as he took on the man who turned against him, Scorpio. JR and Cornette had some good bickering about this, as we let them bring up that it was Faarooq who first brought Scorpio into the public eye back in 1992. Regardless, despite some good action, there wasn't much heat here, as anyone with half a brain knew which way this one was going. The part that got interesting was when Mark Henry lumbered to ringside, but he was stopped from interfering in the match by the appearance of D'Lo Brown and Kama Mustafa. There was a big argument on the outside of the ring going on, and Faarooq took advantage of Scorpio not having his eye on the ball for a change by turning him around and planting him with a spinebuster, scoring a big victory on his way to WrestleMania.

As Faarooq celebrated his win in the ring, we then cut backstage to Scorpio and Mark Henry bickering as they walked through the hallways. That's when The Rock appears, and he asks them what the hell they're doing out there embarrassing him? He says that he hand-picked the two of them to join The Rock's Nation, and if they keep acting like that, he'll have them hit rock bottom again in a heartbeat! He says that he doesn't care what happened out there, he doesn't care “if it's old ass Faarooq, those traitors D'Lo and Kama, the knick-knock paddy-whack Blackjacks, or anyone else, you damn well don't embarrass The Rock!” He tells them to know their roles and head back to the dressing room, and watch The Rock show them how to win. We let Rock work a little bit of dialogue but kept him scripted for the most part, and he really shined, looking like a real star. After the show, Patterson told me that he thought he saw Mark showing a bit more charisma, and thank God because he certainly needs it.

WWF Intercontinental Championship match

The Rock vs. “Spark Plugg” Bob Holly

This match had a dual purpose; for one, it was meant to give Rocky a good win, and also it was to kickstart another small storyline. The Rock keeps in control for a lot of this match, which had good action but not much heat because it was such a foregone conclusion. At this point in his career, the fans know that “Spark Plugg” is going nowhere near the IC title. Bob did seem to increase in performance skills, and they almost believed in a title change after a big dropkick from Holly, but in the end it was the Rock Bottom that sealed this one, as The Rock makes another solid title defense.

Throughout the match, you could tell that, as opposed to usual, Jim Cornette was really yelling at Bob. He kept yelling at him to cheat, or go for a cover instead of play to the fans, all of that sort of thing. At the end of the match, Jim actually got in an argument about it with JR, saying that this is crap, no way should The Rock have won that match if Bob would have taken his head out of his ass – and Cornette angrily throws the headset down and walks up the ramp, storming off of the show! JR struggled with this, though Cornette really used the freedom to improvise to his advantage during this short argument. We head to commercial with Jim Ross left at a loss for words as he is all alone at the announcer's table.

We head backstage to find Cactus Jack, with Chainsaw Charlie causing a commotion behind him with the chainsaw. Jack talks about how in six days, he and Charlie get inside the steel cage with the New Age Outlaws, competing for the WWF Tag Team titles. Cactus talks about how both men have held tag team titles before, in other companies and in other parts of the world, but never together – and it will be his pleasure to finally hold that glory alongside Chainsaw Charlie. He would talk longer, about to mention the six-man tag match later tonight that they will be taking part in, but he is interrupted by The Godwinns, who say that all everyone talks about in tag team wrestling lately is Cactus and Chainsaw, when they should be talking about Henry and Phineas! He talks about having held the Tag Team titles before, and that if given the chance they could destroy both of these “old, concussed fools” along with the Outlaws! Jack says that if the hog farmers wanted to face off with them, all they had to do was ask. He suggests that they meet on Shotgun Saturday Night, in a street fight so that we settle this one hundred percent, just twenty four hours before the duo go into the steel cage against the Outlaws! The Godwinns agree, saying that Cactus must want to throw away their title shot. Cactus put forth a good performance here, and while Henry seemed to show more charisma than ever, the Godwinns are clearly outclassed in the department of fans giving a crap about them.

Rating: D+

Michael Cole is at the interview cage, and standing next to him is Sgt. Slaughter and “Black Hart” Owen Hart. Cole asks the two for thoughts about both the six-man tag team match tonight and the European championship match at WrestleMania this Sunday. Slaughter doesn't have much to say, and Owen praises that “Sarge” will be like a rock as he steadfastly keeps order by keeping Chyna tethered at ringside. He says that Chyna has been a thorn in everyone's side for a long time now, and enough is enough! As for tonight, Hart looks forward to getting his hands on “Triple H” but vows to leave a little piece fo him to take care of at WrestleMania. Owen comes across well here, but Michael just looked lost and out of place. We shouldn't have given him such a high profile interview, but we didn't have many options given what happened with Cornette earlier in the show.

“World's Strongest Man” Mark Henry vs. Erin O'Grady

Probably not a great idea to follow those up with two squash matches, but it was as good a place as any to put them into the card. This one really seemed to lower the crowd's mood, and while Mark seemed off his game, I'm blaming the little job-boy for how bad this one went. Mark has improved his performance lately, and I'm glad to see that. Hopefully the fans start seeing the money in him that I already do now. We sent Jerry Lawler out to commentary during the last segments, replacing Cornette sooner than the top of the hour like usual, and he and JR really helped lift this. Mark put Jobber away with a gorilla press slam and splash, looking far more realistic to do so than that psycho Warrior ever did. Because he's the “World's Strongest Man”!

The Brooklyn Brawler vs. “The Mastodon” Vader

This was a big surprise for this crowd, as Vader was brought out as a complete surprise. They seemed to love it, though I'm not sure why. These two seemed to show some good chemistry in the ring, but this was left to be a full showcase for Vader, who I told JR to point out several times is going on to face Kane at WrestleMania. Vader came out of this match looking really good, putting this one away in short order with the Vader Bomb.

After the match he got a microphone from ringside and said that he came here tonight against doctor's best orders, so that he can keep an eye on Kane's match against The Undertaker later this evening. The fans seemed upset that this was kept short, but it was time to move into the second hour, and plus… it was only this fat guy, not like it's someone who the fans would actually get behind.

We start the second hour with another round of pyro, then Jim Ross and Jerry Lawler hype the War Zone. They talk about the six-man tag coming up with DX against Owen, Cactus, and Charlie; and the big one, Undertaker against Kane. “The King” says that we will see just how soft and pathetic Undertaker is when Kane fulfills his destiny of destroying his brother, but JR says never to count out “the dead man”.

SABLE!!!!!! She's walking down to the ring on those long, shapely legs, those sweet hips rocking side to side like we told her to so that she jiggles ever so softly, in that outfit that's cut down past her…

Vince Russo: I don't think Vince's head is in the game right now, guys. That's okay, I wrote this segment for these guys, and that's why Sable is wearing so little. I told her to do that, it's the skimpiest outfit that USA would let us get away with. She's out there to talk about the tag match at WrestleMania, which is a good idea, but I don't know why Vince didn't let me put their divorce papers on a ****in' pole. Marc and Ivory step to the top of the ramp, and Mero says that there's no way Sable and some bum from a bar can take out he and his new squeeze, and to prove it, they are going to challenge Sable to the only thing she can do: look good. Ivory will take Sable on this Saturday night, twenty four hours before WrestleMania, for a “Shotgun Striptease” where they can get even more raw than on Raw! I wrote that line for them, and it sounded great! It's accepted, and I think this is the first time Vince will ever watch Shotgun.

Rating: C-

Vince just went to his dressing room, saying he had some urgent business and he will watch the show from there for a few minutes. He'll probably be back in a few minutes. Wait, did someone just say Sable is in Vince's room? Anyways, JR holds an interview over the Titantron with Shawn, Hunter, Jesse, and Billy, Chyna at their side. We let Shawn do the talking here for DX, and he really worked the crowd well. Ross says that Shawn shouldn't even still be in the building, but he says that they are DX, some suit might make rules but they'll break them every time. Jesse ended up looking dreadful here, because he didn't say anything when the crowd knows that he should be one of the talkers. JR was acting better than before, which is good for him because he's too boring to be out there anyways. For being able to drag a good segment out alongside JR, Shawn is ****in' awesome. During the commercial, Vince came back, and I find it a little bit ****ing disturbing that he is now wearing a tanktop instead of his business attire and is sweaty and breathing hard. I guess he'll put that back on when he heads to the ring later.

“The World's Most Dangerous Man” Ken Shamrock vs Jeff Jarrett

So we threw these guys out there in a match just to make sure people remember that there is things going on for both of them, since they aren't very charismatic I assume the fans will just forget. Jeff wrestles this match great from bell to bell, and Ken keeps right up with him. Shamrock seems to get tired toward the end, which is something he needs to really work on for when we tell him to go all out like this. At the end of the match, The Artist Formerly Known as Goldust comes down to the ring and he steals Ken's robe. Tim White not letting him chase Goldust down and then Jeff trying to take advantage of the situation leads Ken to snap, and after a hurricanrana and belly to belly suplex, he clamps on the ankle lock for the submission… but doesn't let go after Jarrett has tapped out. After pleading doesn't work, Tim reverses the decision, giving Jeff the victory by disqualification! Goldust stands at the top of the ramp rubbing his face on the robe.

Commissioner Slaughter then hits the ring to stop Ken from doing any more damage, but with a scream of “GET OUT OF MY WAY” he hits Slaughter with a belly-to-belly, locking the ankle lock on him! Security and other officials all pour into the ring and try to pull him off… heh heh, hey Vince, I just said that Ken was getting pulled off. Just like I just did! Ha ha ha!

In order to slow down all this action going on, and to make a good hard sell for WrestleMania, we had Jim Ross and Jerry Lawler talk to Michael Cole and The Jackal to go over all the matches. Cole and Jackal will be running the live, post-match interviews again, and that's good because it will keep them from ruining any of the actual interviews that we put on air. Cole was very underwhelming, and Jackal just came off dreadful here. At least JR's performance was good. We wanted the slow the show down, and we damn sure did – hopefully not too badly.

“Triple H” Hunter Hearst Helmsley and The New Age Outlaws w/Chyna vs. “The Black Hart” Owen Hart, Chainsaw Charlie, and Cactus Jack

This six-man tag served a lot of purposes for us, getting all of these storylines intertwined nicely before WrestleMania. We had Hunter do all he could to keep away from the fired up Owen for the match, and JR's announcing really helped as he pushed that in six days Helmsley will have to meet Hart one-on-one. For a short moment I went and got my suit back on (I got really overheated a while ago; get it, Russo?) but everything went off without a hitch anyways. Chyna interfered by punching Charlie in his old balls, leading to a Pedigree for the win. Owen seemed to pick up some brawling tips from Cactus in this one, throwing some better fists, and both Owen and Billy were performing better than before. This was a good match, and the only thing that possibly dragged it down was them holding back a little in order to save themselves for WrestleMania. Throughout the match, we also made sure to have JR and “King” discuss that “Shawn Michaels would be out here in the ring if he hadn't been thrown out of the building by Mr. McMahon earlier.” So obviously he's not here anymore, right?

Now is the time that we sell our show to the masses. The Undertaker is on his way down to the ring, and he does not look happy about this match. A robed druid appears at ringside before he brings the lights up, and as Kane's music starts playing…

SWEET CHIN MUSIC!!

The druid pulls the robe off, and it was Shawn all along! He starts crotch chopping toward the downed 'Taker, and stomps on him. Kane finally gets into the ring, but looks on in confusion.

That's when I hit the scene, and start yelling at Shawn off the mic, telling him that he ruined my main event! I tell him to get the hell out of here, that he was supposed to leave hours ago! Shawn starts getting apologetic, even getting on his knees and grabbing my leg to try and keep apologizing. I finally get him away from me… BAM!

I made sure to lay out for the rest of the show, which really sold the superkick well. When I watched the show's ending later, it really looked like it went off great. Once I hit the mat, Undertaker sat back up. He started chasing Shawn down, which is when Helmsley and Tyson rushed in. The three DX members started working Undertaker over, when Owen and Austin hit the ring. Seeing his brother getting some relief, Kane entered the ring and went after Undertaker, until Vader rushed him. In all of the chaos, JR screamed that all of these matches will be live this Sunday at WrestleMania!

Ratings: B (Shawn/Taker) / B (Shawn/Vince) / B (wild brawl)

Kurrgan d. Doug Basham (F+)

Cactus Jack and Chainsaw Charlie d. The Godwinns in the Shotgun Street Fight (B-)

Segments:

Raw recap: Shawn Michaels, Mike Tyson, and Mr. McMahon are confronted by “Stone Cold” Steve Austin (B+)

Raw recap: following The Rock's title defense over Bob Holly, Jim Cornette walks out on Raw! (D+)

As we see a recap of Goldust stealing Ken Shamrock's robe on Raw, we hear from The Artist Formerly Known as Goldust… and then we see him, wrapped “only” in Ken's robe, rubbing it all over his body as he writhes on a bed; Goldust talks about how silky the robe feels, and how he wonders if Kenny's hands on him tomorrow night at WrestleMania will feel like this – or if Ken will be rough with his body! Sherri stands at the side of the bed occasionally whipping Goldust with a crop, making him “coo” each time. (C+)

Raw recap video: everything from the main event to the end of the show gets recapped (B-)

Jerry “The King” Lawler interrupts the show and, aside from saying he's out here to see Sable and Ivory, says that next week, this “lame duck show” is thankfully getting replaced with something that should be so much better, as Jim Ross “is going bye-bye” as he and Michael Cole will be the hosts of the brand new WWF Jakked, which will air in the same markets at the same time. JR wishes them well on the new show, and Lawler joins commentary for the remainder of Shotgun. (D+)

Sable and Ivory have their striptease, but before either of them get too far undressed, Marc Mero interrupts; and this gives Ivory the chance to attack Sable from behind, and the two strip her down to her underwear, laughing as they leave her embarrassed on the mat. ©

Cactus Jack and Chainsaw Charlie celebrate in the ring after their win, which will be aired as the final segment of Shotgun Saturday Night! ©

WWF Light Heavyweight Championship Match: Six Pack Challenge

Taka Michinoku © vs. “Too Sexy” Brian Christopher vs. Marty Jannetty vs. Aguila vs. El Dandy vs. Cyclope

We open the show with the little bastards, because Russo was watching Nitro for me and said that their little bastards were always able to fire the crowd up if we let them open the show and let them do what they do. So that's what we did, and while they had some solid action go on, the crowd did not give two craps about them whatsoever. All of these high flying flippy-dos that they do just don't mean as much if they don't care to start with! At least JR and Lawler were on point with this, making some good quips about Brian. Christopher and Jannetty seemed to be doing better at technical wrestling and performance, respectively. Marty was upset that we told them all to be open, because I guess he thinks he's so much better than everyone else. With that outburst, he's reporting to Power Pro tomorrow. The little Japanese kid hit a twisting thing on the non-masked Mexican guy at way too long for me to care. Is Sable ready yet? Maybe I should go check on her before her match.

Gorilla: “You sit the hell back down, Vince!”

I guess I'll stay here and keep taking notes.

We head back to a pre-taped promo in a dark room, where The Undertaker broods. He talks about how this all started eight months ago at Summerslam, and ever since then Shawn has done all he can to run and hide; but all he has done is prolonged his stay of execution, and tonight, “The Reaper of Souls” has come for him. A very good promo here that really sold how this feud has kept continuing regardless of all that has happened with Kane, and the animosity that the two have toward one another in the ring. And it was a hell of a lot better than that debacle of an opening match; we should've just started the show with Mark talking.

WWF Tag Team Championsihps: Steel Cage Match

The New Age Outlaws © vs. Cactus Jack & Chainsaw Charlie

This is a wonderful display of brutality, as these four pummel each other senseless inside the cage. I figured that putting this title on the line early on in the evening would make up for putting that worthless title match on first, as this one can get the crowd to wake up; and they do, but not quite as much as I was hoping for just yet. JR does a great job of selling the emotion of this match, as it's a very “old versus new” battle. Mick dies for his art every time he's in the spotlight, and Terry probably will die in the ring at some point; but everyone knows their job here. On this night, it's all about putting the Outlaws over; and to their credit, they do a great job of taking a beating and coming back each time. Jack bumps like a madman for them, and Chainsaw Charlie may be old as dirt but he knows how to tell a story in there. In the end, the chainsaw comes into the ring, but it gets turned against Cactus, as Billy nails him in the face with the weapon – the body of it, not the blade. After that, a spike piledriver puts this one away, as all four men are left as bloody messes.

In a pre-taped interview, The Rock is interviewed by Gennifer Flowers. We let the two improvise the interview and just recorded it, despite it not being live; and The Rock did a wonderful job of holding his own with the actress. I got the idea to get her on here not just because of her national fame at the moment, but also because I saw her Penthouse spread again the other night. If she's still as liberal as she seems, maybe I can convince her and Sable to give me a “private show” later! Rock does utter one thing that caught our attention though, and that's when he ad-lib’s the line “if you smell what The Rock is cooking” and also dubbing himself as “the people's choice, the people's champion”. Those one seemed to get a big reaction in the arena, so maybe we will start having him use that more as a catchphrase and see if it catches on.

WWF Intercontinental Championship Match

The Rock © vs. Faarooq

Straight from one title match to another, Russo said that should definitely pump the crowd up by having them all in such quick succession like this. While Ron is not too old to look like he could be a credible champion yet, he has some serious problems going in these length of matches. I don't mean to spoil the ending for you, but unless he gets that sorted out, I doubt he'll be wearing gold in the WWF anytime soon. He really shows his merit here, teaching Rock a few things about a good performance. Rocky infuriates fans by hitting the standing elbow drop that King promotes as “The People's Elbow” but he gets a little too cocky by not going for the pin right away, and Faarooq stays in the match. D'Lo Brown and Kama Mustafa head down to the ring and grab the attention of Tim White, and JR does a great job of asking who they're out here to help. Mustafa holds Tim's gaze, as Brown grabs the Intercontinental title – and he smashes Faarooq with it! The two leave the ringside area as Rock makes the cover, and he retains the title while gaining two more very valuable pieces to The Rock's Nation.

Triple Threat Tag Team Match

The New Blackjacks vs. The Nation (D'Lo Brown & Kama Mustafa) vs. The Nation (Scorpio & Mark Henry)

JR and Jerry immediately sell this match just right: now that we know where D'Lo and Kama stand, this one is an absolute four-on-two mugging. D'Lo takes charge, ordering around his Nation brothers as they decimate the Blackjacks. The one point at which Bradshaw starts to try and fight back against the tide is when Brown is in the ring, and he quickly runs behind Mark, who comes in and continues the punishment. Bradshaw seemed a little better at technical wrestling after this one, though JR still referred to him as not caring about a wristlock or a wristwatch; and Mustafa's performance was looking better than before. And despite doing the least amount of work in the match, Brown scores the pinfall after all of the Nation have laid out Bradshaw, by landing his Lo-Down frog splash.

“Winner Receives Alimony” Match

“Marvelous” Marc Mero and Ivory vs. Sable and ???

First we showed a video recap. I know that there are other matches that are probably higher on the priority list tonight that could have gotten a video recap, but I ordered this one personally dammit, because we needed more Sable on this show – especially the stripping from Shotgun last night – and the only way I could get it was in video form. Also, when the video was over, we showed Sable come out with her partner tonight, someone who we tried to get back at In Your House: DX, Butterbean. We put him over as a brute knockout artist, but Lanza says he rated it as a C+. Oh well, one-time characters don't matter that much to me, and he's gone tomorrow.

The match got underway, and Pat really gave me hell for Sable being in the ring. Supposedly the crowd really hated seeing her in the ring because she can't wrestle. I know they booed Butterbean out of the building for not being very good, but to also say that Sable was off her game and that she was exposed by the length of the match? I think they're just trying to get me to depush her, but that isn't happening anytime soon dammit! JR and Jerry did a good job out there calling this match, and that's what was most important; and Sable scored a pin on Mero after hitting a Sablebomb on him! We will definitely follow this story tonight, and Monsoon won't let me leave to go see if Sable is sore after the match she just had.

Match Time: 7:43

Ratings: E+ / D-

As if Sable wouldn't have had the crowd greedily hungering for more action, Gerald urged that we put on a promo next featuring D-Generation X. So to appease everyone, that's how we scheduled things. Shawn looked good here as he said that he “ain't afraid of no ghosts”. Shawn says that no one else could ever be “The Showstopper” like him, and says that with Mike at his side tonight, he will put the final nail in the coffin of The Undertaker tonight. He says that “The Heartbreak Kid” lays down for nobody, and that doesn't change tonight. Hunter has words for Owen Hart, telling him that he needs to look past all the problems with “Vinnie Mac”, look past his last name, and look past his lack of talent, and know that he is stepping into the ring with DX's “big gun” (emphasized with a crotch chop) tonight; saying that “Sgt. Slobber” breathing all over Chyna will be a non-factor in his victory. Helmsley was superb here, having the crowd in the palm of his hands, while Shawn really enjoyed being off-script and performed well. Michaels closes the scene by saying that if anyone has any problems with that, they can just do what all the women beg for: suck it!

The Artist Formerly Known as Goldust w/Sinful Sherri vs. “The World's Most Dangerous Man” Ken Shamrock

We told these guys to go warm the crowd back up; that way they didn't get blown up too much, and it avoided the problem of everyone thinking that the crowd would still be dead after seeing the mixed tag match. There seemed to be a lack of psychology with these two, but there was some great action between two of our better wrestlers. JR did a good job on commentary, especially dubbing Sherri a jezebel when she would interfere. Eventually, referee Chad Patton gets bumped; and that's when (of all the possible, seemingly random people) Tully Blanchard hit the ring, assaulting Shamrock! Ken fought back though, hitting Tully with a hurricanrana, before drilling Dustin with a belly-to-belly suplex and locking on the ankle lock. Tully looked like he would climb back into the ring, but that's when…

The crowd comes unglued as Jake “The Snake” Roberts walks into WrestleMania! Tully looks worried as Jake approaches, and he keeps an eye on Blanchard as he wakes up Patton. JR starts to say that maybe Shamrock figured that Mr. McMahon would stop at nothing, so he got some insurance. And that's when Jake drills him with a DDT! Tim White calls for the bell, and Ken wins the match via disqualification.

Roberts then gets a microphone, and as Goldust and Blanchard put the stomp on Shamrock, Jake says that Ken should never take his eye off the ball when dealing with a man like Vince McMahon; because as soon as he thinks he has the upper hand, the powers that be will always be one step ahead. Tully lifts Ken up and hits him with a slingshot suplex, which doesn't look nearly as impressive in 1998 as it did in 1988 by finishing move standards and just makes Blanchard look underwhelming. But Goldust comes across well, as he licks Shamrock's forehead. That's just weird. Ken's performance as a corpse is fantastic, as Jake drills him with another DDT and the three men (and Sherri) leave him for dead in the center of the ring. Patterson said that he ranks Jake's crazy Intelligent Psycho gimmick as a B, and the crowd really gave him hell for it. This one has started off as a solid angle, and I'm glad we were able to pull it off at WrestleMania itself.

We went backstage to a promo with the united Nation. Honky Tonk Man hosted the five man group, and we dropped a lot of information on fans here. The Rock refers to D'Lo and Kama (no last names anymore) as the final piece of the puzzle that is The Rock's Nation, and says that if Faarooq had only known his role, he could have been a part of the greatest group in all of sports entertainment, as an underling to The Rock of course. He came out of this looking excellent, and he really improvised well. Honky enjoyed being off-script as well, but once it came to D'Lo, he was terrible. He got a little too worked up in the live atmosphere, and while he got his point across (that he and Kama were made promises by The Rock, while Faarooq wanted them to continue being his quiet muscle) it just wasn't made very well. Scorpio tries to laugh along in the background, but he just looks lost when we do segments like this. Despite that, he does seem to have better acting and performance in his mannerisms. We aren't ready to give up on him just yet. We learned that the woman on Kama's arm is Bobcat, who is using a gimmicky slut gimmick; Russo thought it turned out better than it did, but a B+ rating is all Patterson would give her. D'Lo and Kama put on new gimmicks as well; D'Lo playing a cocky weasel (rated as a B+) and the man Rocky dubs “The Godfather of The Nation” Kama is a gimmicky suave, netting a B- – likely because he does look the part in his new attire and with the girl on his arm. All in all, as JR tells everyone, tonight was a huge coup for The Rock and his Nation.

WWF European Championship Match – Chyna is handcuffed to Sgt. Slaughter

“Triple H” Hunter Hearst Helmsley vs. “The Black Hart” Owen Hart

Great action as we expected from these two. The crowd were really excited for the match too, putting in some good effort as with Chyna out of the way, this really looked like the night that Owen would get some retribution for his family name. Hunter did a good job of carrying his own though, making it look like he is strong enough to win on his own – which Jim Ross pointed out that he is. Lawler said that it's Chyna's job as a bodyguard to make sure that “Triple H” doesn't need to win on his own, though. After Owen makes his big comeback, he starts hitting a spinning heel kick and an overhead belly-to-belly suplex, then nails Hunter with a flying elbow from the second rope. This all looks well in the bag when Hart locks on the Sharpshooter, but on the outside Slaughter actually releases the handcuffs – and then gives Chyna the set, as he distracts Tim White himself so that she can enter the ring and use them to floor Owen with a hard punch! The crowd boos mercilessly as “Sarge” walks up the ramp, as Hunter hits the academic Pedigree in order to retain the title; but as he and Chyna look up the ramp, they seem just as surprised as the audience.

We then go backstage, as Slaughter joins Pat, Gerald, and I in an office. They say nothing, as I tell everyone that this should be a lesson to everyone; it doesn't matter if your name is The Undertaker, Shawn Michaels, Bret Hart, Owen Hart, or Ken Shamrock; the day comes when you have to learn to fall in line with the boss! I say that is exactly what Commissioner Slaughter has decided to do, and it's the smartest decision he's ever made. Pat said after cameras stopped that with the way you could hear those boos, the turn was a complete success, even if my segment was a little short.

After Kane's big entrance to the ring, in which Pete Rose was a great sport about getting dropped on his head, the match begins.

Rikishi hangs around ringside along with Paul Bearer, and this one is a straight up brawl as soon as the bell sounds. I know that this is exactly what the crowd wants to see; all the guys like Shamrock and Owen and Michaels, these small guys, all those little bastards in the little division, they are just the warmup acts to a guy like Kane! Vader is still a fat sack of crap though, and there's no reason to have him around except for just making sure he doesn't think about going back to WCW or Japan. I have a lot of jobbing for him to do right here in the WWF. Fatu got involved very briefly, but we had Vader fight back and send him to the floor. Kane fights with a fury though, and he drills Vader to the mat with two brutal chokeslams. He begins to set Vader up for a Tombstone… but the lights go out in the arena. When they come back on, Kane, Bearer, and Fatu are nowhere to be found. With Vader the only man left in the ring, the match is abruptly stopped, and Mike Chioda awards the victory to Vader. The ending left people a little unsatisfied, and JR is left asking just what the hell happened here; but there is no denying that the crowd were all warmed up by the amazing brawl they had just witnessed.

WWF World Heavyweight Championship Match

“The Showstopper” Shawn Michaels vs. “The Phenom” The Undertaker

Special Enforcers: “Iron” Mike Tyson, “Stone Cold” Steve Austin

First, a nice long video recap, showing us how we all got here. It starts clear back at last year's Summerslam, goes through Hell in a Cell, and culminates with Undertaker winning the Royal Rumble; then we get clips showing the two enforcers being added, along with all the attacks and promos on one another that Shawn and Taker have done.

We start the entrances with

coming to the ring. That gives way then to the

gets his entrance first, because he comes out and parties with the DX Band, who play him to the ring with their theme. Hopefully seeing the band themselves perform it will make people quit thinking that it's that Chris Cornell guy, whoever that is; it's Chris Warren and the DX Band, damned small minded fans!

After Shawn is in the ring and done with his striptease thing, then we go to pitch black. Druids come out to the sound of “O Fortuna” and line the sides of the aisle holding torches, and the purple smoke machine gives way to the march of

. He quickly raises his arms on the stairs and causes the lights to come back on, making Michaels briefly drop his cool demeanor with the pop that ensues.

Howard Finkel then gives everyone involved with the match a full introduction, in the order that they had come down to the ring. The bell finally sounds, and the main event is underway!

We had these guys go slowly to begin, and that meant Michaels tried to get the match going at a fast pace but gets stunted at every turn by Undertaker. “The Showstopper” eventually starts trying to work up to an advantage, sticking and moving with fast punches before slipping away. It takes a flying clothesline for Shawn to finally take his challenger off his feet, but Taker quickly sits right back up. The crowd are a little burned out after the big entrances, but these two work them back into the swing of things and has them on their feet after Shawn makes a big dive over the top rope, what a maneuver! You can tell Shawn is in a lot of pain, it's all over his face; but Mark is working gingerly with him, so they are able to have an excellent match despite the limitation. One of the few problems that we have is – of all things – Jerry's color commentary seems lacking. Probably just too excited after all of this action we've had all night! There are plenty more highlights to this one, notably when Shawn takes Undertaker down with a shock superkick; but rather than pin him, he stands over his fallen body and crotch chops; but the challenger wakes up and grabs him by the nuts! Ha ha ha! He applies pressure for a few minutes while Shawn dances around, and then Taker grabs him around the throat and hits a ring-shaking chokeslam! Earl Hebner gets bumped after both champion and challenger collide upon him in the corner, and that's when the two enforcers climb into the ring. But instead of watching over the match, Tyson and Austin get in one another's faces, Austin flipping the bird to “Iron Mike”! On the replay I laughed as Jim Ross groans loudly when I come down to the ringside area. I get Earl pulled out of the ring, as Shawn and Taker continue throwing hard blows on one another. I get the attention of Austin, and he turns his attention my way; leaving Mike Tyson to watch the match. Tyson watches on as Undertaker blocks a Sweet Chin Music, and he turns Shawn over for a Tombstone! Michaels slips out, and he hits the kick! Tyson drops to the mat, but he only counts two – when it should have been three, as he just stops counting and crotch chops toward Shawn! As Michaels gets up and is in the face of his supposed partner in DX, Undertaker gets to his feet and hits the Tombstone Piledriver! Kane is now at ringside, and he has Austin by the throat as I tell Tyson to count – and he quick counts the fall, even though Shawn gets his shoulder up right when the three is counted! He stays on the mat, dazed, as I tell them to ring the bell!

Austin gets into the ring and he grabs me for a Stunner – but Undertaker stops him! Undertaker holds Austin around the throat, and he's joined by Kane, and the two deliver a (very tender) double chokeslam to Steve Austin! I get the microphone from Howard, and I say “Screw you, Austin! You wanted to come in here and ruin my plans? Well me, and Mike Tyson, and these two brothers are going to ruin the rest of your sad, pathetic life!” Undertaker and Kane shake hands, as Paul Bearer joins us all in the ring, screaming “Oh yes!” like the creepy little man he is. The brothers put Shawn down with a double chokeslam, before depositing him to the floor, and then pick up Austin. It looks as though Kane is about to drill him with a Tombstone, which JR says would destroy Austin's neck, saying that they're trying to kill the man!

But he doesn't get to the move, as Vader hits the ring! He gets Steve out of the situation, and trainers help Austin out of there as Vader starts trying to take the two on. It doesn't go very well, until Owen Hart rushes the ring! But even at a two-on-two, with me still urging them to destroy over the microphone, Kane and Undertaker still start to prevail; as Kane hits Vader with a chokeslam, and Undertaker starts setting Owen up for one as well. But then “Triple H” and Chyna make the save, Chyna hitting both of them with low blows! Hunter and Owen get face to face, and the two shake hands, drawing a huge pop from the crowd! They turn toward Undertaker and Kane, together… but try as they might, they cannot take down the two behemoths, and Hart is sent sprawling from the ring on top of Vader by a gorilla press slam by Kane. Helmsley and Chyna stand their ground, but they are both goozled and chokeslammed as well! They get kicked to ringside, and JR talks about the bodies lying broken and shattered around the ring – as Mike Tyson and I enter the ring again to present The Undertaker with the WWF World championship! The lights dim around us, as Undertaker gets on his knee and holds the title up toward me! The crowd boos loudly, and as WrestleMania goes off the air, JR says that he never would have imagined this; but the WWF is about to enter a new era of darkness!

Damnit, I missed out on predicting for Mania! Heck, I didn't even see that the go-home show was posted until after Mania was already up! :(

Oh well. I'll try and leave more complete feedback later, as I'm just about to head to bed so I can be up bright and early for work, but I can't do so before saying that the ending to that show was both unexpected (for me, at least) and awesome. There were a few different ways I saw that match potentially going, and I think what you actually did was far better and should make for some really intriguing stories going forward.

Wow, great show, Beej! I feel like I've been waiting half my life for this very event, but you've done it justice. And what I really like is you've come so far from reality by now, it'll be great to see where you go from here! As I've said before, I feel like every time I've played this Mod that it's only past Wrestlemania where I really begin to sense that the game has diverged from reality and it's truly mine.

On a side note, it's quite pleasing for me that you and I have both hosted the exact same event within 24 hours of each other and they are distinctly different:

- completely different competitors for the Tag Titles

- I had women's title, you had Light Heavyweight (both sucked)

- different challengers for Michaels' WWF Championship and both with completely unexpected swerves for endings that (I hope) no-one saw coming

- different directions for the Nation of Domination with different characters, although both our Wrestlemania's saw the birth of the Godfather

- the biggest similarity I see is we both had Faarooq vs The Rock for the IC Title, with roughly the same result, although we got their from different directions

Anyway, this has been a great ride from the start and one of the few dynasties I've managed to keep up with from the very start. Keep up the good work, looking forward to seeing how some of these developments play out over the next few months!!

Big Three Recap – Week 4, March 1998

http://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/wwf-1/raw.jpg

WWF Raw is War Report!

The go-home episode of Raw is War came live from Hartford, and viewers have been incredibly positive. However, it was not the blow-away show that they needed to really sell the show like they probably wanted it to be. A huge reason for that is the bait-and-switch that was Undertaker versus Kane. Had they given fans the match, this could have ended up as one of the best episodes of Raw ever; but they gave fans the middle finger, featuring the same tired Shawn Michaels beatdown that we've been seeing for the past few weeks. While that does definitely keep WrestleMania seeming very up in the air as to who walks out with the World title, it doesn't make for very interesting television. We rated the show a B-. Hopefully, once we get into the new “season” of the WWF after WrestleMania, we will start to see some better changes.

WCW Nitro Report!

Bret Hart was the star of the show when Nitro went to the DCU Center in Massachusettes this week! All those who saw the show said that it was awesome, and have been giving it fantastic reviews. That could definitely spell trouble for the WWF, who were hoping to make a grand slam, knock it out of the park show for the last Raw before WrestleMania, but ended up getting trounced by the WCW juggernaut. We rated this show a B+. Surprisingly, the match between DDP and Hall was better than the match involving The Giant and Bret Hart.

ANGLE: segment with Kevin Nash, Lex Luger, and Roddy Piper; Raven and Juventud Guerrera d. The Outlaws; The Steiner Brothers d. The Public Enemy; ANGLE: segment with Hollywood Hulk Hogan, Bret Hart, and Sting; Rey Mysterio Jr. d. Disco Inferno; Diamond Dallas Page d. Scott Hall; The Giant d. Bret Hart.

ECW Hardcore TV Report!

Another excellent edition of Hardcore TV came from the Hammerstein. Taz was said to be the star of the show, getting to choke out The Sandman in what was probably Sandman's best match not involving Raven. We give the show a D+ rating.

Ballz Mahoney d. Chris Chetti; ANGLE: confrontation between Bam Bam Bigelow and Shane Douglas; Taz d. The Sandman; Bam Bam Bigelow retains the ECW World title in a three way dance involving Phil LaFon and Tommy Dreamer.

ECW Living Dangeroulsy 1998 report!

ECW puts forth yet another excellent offering on pay-per-view when they presented the 1998 Living Dangerously from the Philadelphia Civic Center! A crowd of 11,006 people witnessed three big title matches, and played host to one of the most career defining moments that could have ever happened for ECW when Paul Heyman went on the air calling out The Sandman for no-showing the event! When Bam Bam Bigelow won the ECW World title, we wondered if he would end up dropping it back to Shane Douglas directly. Instead, Bam Bam has been a force to be reckoned with, defending the title against all comers! He could very easily be the catalyst for ECW to become more than a regional promotion in the very near future. Sabu was the star of the show, though, risking his life to deliver a great match against Tommy Dreamer. Overall, we have rated this show a D+.

Four way dance: Chris Candido d. Big Dick Dudley, John Kronus, and New Jack (D-)

ANGLE: backstage segment with Taz and Sabu (D+)

Little Guido d. Jason Knight (D-)

Mikey Whipwreck d. Chris Chetti (D)

ANGLE: skit involving Shane Douglas and Tommy Dreamer (C-)

Roadkill d. Tracy Smothers (D-)

Jerry Lynn and Spike Dudley d. Droz and Pitbull II (D+)

Hardcore Chair Swingin' Freaks d. The Dudley Boys to retain the ECW Tag titles (D+)

ANGLE: backstage segment with Chastity and Bam Bam Bigelow (D)

Taz d. Doug Furnas to retain the ECW TV title (C-)

Tommy Dreamer d. Sabu (C+)

Bam Bam Bigelow d. Phil LaFon to retain the ECW World title (D)

WWF WrestleMania XIV

This year's WrestleMania was awesome! There were twists and turns all over the place, as the Boston crowd were led on an intense ride from opening to closing bell. “The Era of Darkness” is what Jim Ross called it at the end of the show, and one must wonder what that will mean for Raw this week. The show is rated by us as a B+.

Land of the Rising Sunny?

After her recent departure from the WWF, you would have thought Tammy Sytch would have rushed to ECW. Instead, she has found herself getting offers from overseas, namely Japan. She has non-exclusive contracts set up with Japan's FMW, M-Pro, and BJW this week, along with AAA in Mexico.

Exit Sandman!

Feeling slighted after he was told to put Taz over, The Sandman then no-showed ECW Living Dangerously this past weekend! Paul Heyman opened the show by announcing the no-show, and saying that he is done with that, and we quote, “beer swilling, redneck piece of shit who was nothing before ECW”. Sandman seems to feel the same way about Heyman, and as such it seems The Sandman is effectively blackballed from ECW. One must wonder if the WWF or WCW would even think about giving someone like Sandman a glance, and that's even before this blowup happened!

Top Prospects of the week!

Two names which have seemed to come up this past week were John Kronus and Headhunter A. Why Headhunter B wasn't mentioned as well is beyond us, given that, despite not actually being the same person, in a lot of ways they may as well be. But some feel Kronus could eventually reach the heights of former partner Perry Saturn, all he would need is the right break.

F4W Polls

We ran a poll this past week for who fans feel is the top young prospect in wrestling today, and it was almost unanimously voted as WWF Intercontinental champion, The Rock.

From the desk of Vincent K. McMahon:

“WrestleMania was a rousing success! We have put forth all of our next storylines while ending the ones that needed it. Undertaker, Hunter, Chyna, and Slaughter all had successful turns, and I looked great on camera as always. There's no way people won't be talking about this one around the proverbial water cooler for the next month!

“Unfortunately, you don't make an omelette without breaking eggs. For the past few months, we've tried to limit a lot of Shawn's in-ring action because he's been complaining of his back. Under threat of The Undertaker, Michaels stuck it out and did the right thing, putting 'Taker over and dropping the World title in shady fashion. As of this writing, he has officially announced his retirement from active wrestling.

“After Mania was over, we all met backstage and I gave a speech to everyone. I especially praised Undertaker for his great performance, and he was pleased by that. But I also gave compliments to the good work done by Kane and The Rock. They seemed pleased by this, not sure how to take the good words. But if they keep this up, then they'll be hearing those more often.

“Now, after we've shown what we can do without Austin at the top, now we go in for the kill on WCW. We were down, but we're not out yet; and with Mark leading the charge as the new champion, it's time to kick the WWF fans in the ass and see what they do about it!”

So even with tiebreaker questions, I still had a tie. Apparently, I need to find some better questions! So… I guess I'll try and find a prize for both Satyr and Warhawk. Thanks everyone for following along, even when I dropped out for a few months there! Also, thanks to smwilliams and Nickman for putting WM14 and the diary up for DOTM this month, it always means a lot to be nominated; though even I will admit that I don't think I deserve the Mod DOTM for only putting up two shows all month. Regardless, I plan on doing Raw in the near future, because a lot of people have a lot of things to explain as we move into the new setup of the WWF!

The show opens with a still-frame recap of the main event of WrestleMania last night, provided by WWF Magazine. The pyro goes off to signal the opening of the show, and I look at Mark standing next to me, and it's time to usher in the new standard for the WWF. I handed a lot of the reigns over to Russo for this show, and I'll be wondering just how he does with the gloves off a little.

New three time WWF champion The Undertaker walks out onto the stage. This isn't a strange sight, but the New York crowd boos loudly at me, Paul Bearer, Mike Tyson, and Kane coming out by his sides, as well as Brisco and Patterson. Jim Ross notes the new music for Undertaker, while Lawler points out the big case in the center of the ring that has been bothering him all evening. We fill the ring, and I take the microphone to address the crowd. I tell them all that they shouldn't be surprised to see our new World champion, as “there's no way that some degenerate punk will ever hold the title for long in my company!” I tell the viewers that my name is Vincent Kennedy McMahon, or Mr. McMahon to all of them, and in the World Wrestling Federation, my rule is law! And if anybody breaks those laws, there will be consequences – just like Owen Hart and Shawn Michaels found out last night. I point out that Shawn isn't even in the building tonight, probably having run scared back to San Antonio, after having his precious ego and then his mortal soul devoured by The Undertaker! I can tell I really worked the crowd well here, as they are ravenous after I said my piece.

I pass the mic to Undertaker, who talks about how the fans deserted him. He says that when his brother Kane arrived in the WWF, Kane wanted nothing more than to get to him; it was the fans, however, who made him believe that Kane had to fight against The Undertaker. Taker says that he sought out his brother and explained to he and Paul Bearer behind closed doors that there was never a reason for the brothers to do battle like Cain and Abel – instead, they could rule the WWF as lords! Undertaker then goes on to talk about how he has seen everyone come and go; from Hulk Hogan and Randy Savage to Bret Hart and Steve Austin, and now Shawn Michaels. He says that all of them were made by Vince McMahon, and all of them have been traitors to him. Undertaker says that in all of those people, none have ever been as loyal to the WWF as himself, and that loyalty has been rewarded by Vince. Paul is standing behind Undertaker and Kane, and he's screaming “YES, OH YES” like the creepy little man he is. Be that as it may though, you can tell those two are better with one another than without, as Paul's presence really adds to the Undertaker aura. Undertaker says that he has been protecting that locker room from cancers like Shawn Michaels for years, and now he's going to protect the rest of the WWF; introducing himself, his mentor Paul Bearer, his brother-in-arms Rikishi Fatu, and his own blood Kane, as the Brotherhood of Solitary Knights. He says that he is the “Lord of Darkness” now and forever, and once the fans accept that, he will be the WWF's savior.

I get the microphone back from him, and I say that this is a brand new day in the WWF, as a Mr. McMahon and Undertaker led “Era of Darkness” started last night. I say that a brand new era requires a brand new look, “a little pizazz for the new champion,” as Brisco and Patterson applaud every word out of my mouth. I and Mike Tyson then present The Undertaker with…

http://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/wwf-1/world2.jpg

… the new look WWF World championship! Undertaker accepts this, and I briefly talk about “Triple H”. I say that Hunter Hearst Helmsley is still a young, talented, smart man; and he could prove that he just got into a bad crowd. All he has to do is come out here and denounce D-Generation X, and I will be happy to take him on as an associate. We close the segment with Undertaker saying that any man, woman, or beast who crosses the Brotherhood of Solitary Knights and Mr. McMahon will rest… in peace. Tyson seemed to underperform, not having much to do here, but his contract runs for another few days, so we might as well keep using him until it's all up.

The Artist Formerly Known as Goldust w/Sinful Sherri vs. Bart Gunn

This match starts out with Goldust teasing Bart; as Dustin had come down to the ring wearing what I can only best describe as rodeo attire. He has on cowboy hat and boots and chaps – but instead of jeans, he's wearing a black thong under the chaps. He also has on very loud eye makeup and lipstick. I'll likely get a letter from some parent group or another about this tomorrow. JR and Jerry do a good job in putting this match over, as both of them sound disgusted by the actions of Goldust. He seems to purposely be rubbing around on Bart throughout this one, and Gunn finally has enough of that and just goes apes*** on him, and not pulling back when Tim White tries to get involved. Tim ends up calling for the bell, giving the match to Goldust by disqualification.

Goldust doesn't seem finished then, as he blows kisses at Bart and gallops around the ring like he's riding a horse. This brings out The New Blackjacks, with the cowboys getting in Goldust's face. Dustin though blows a kiss toward Bradshaw and turns his ass to him, and the hot-headed cowboy attacks him! Windham and Bart try to get in between them, and Tully Blanchard comes out to try and pull Goldust away; finally even Bob Holly, Steve Blackman, and Animal make appearances to hold these two apart, before order can finally start being restored. This whole angle seemed odd, but only because there wasn't much time to explain it before the match. It's already looking odd in Russo's favor.

Honky Tonk Man, self proclaimed “greatest WWF interviewer of all time”, is at the interview cage alongside Cactus Jack and Chainsaw Charlie. Charlie doesn't say anything, but he isn't running crazy like he usually would be. Jack does the talking, as he says that he and Charlie were given a rematch for the WWF Tag Team titles tonight by President Monsoon as a reward for their good effort last night; and this time, instead of a cage match, it's a ladder match! Honky says that there has never been a tag team ladder match in WWF history, and Jack says that he'll be happy to make history tonight when they win the titles. Mick just looked like a star here, and Honky really used the freedom of no script to his advantage. Some loud arguing pulls the attention of Cactus and Honky, and they move to the source of it…

http://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/wwf-1/alsnow.jpg

Al Snow is nearby, having a one-sided argument with a mannequin head! Cactus shakes his head at the sight, saying that “people say I'm crazy!” as Al keeps arguing with the head. Snow didn't come out of this looking good, but Lanza told me that he rated the new comedic crazy gimmick as a B, so at least that came off well.

Elsewhere in the building, Michael Cole (decidedly NOT the greatest interviewer of all time yet) is standing by. He was looking a little stale, so we set him up as more of a wholesome sportscaster now rather than generic staff member, but he blows it by only being graded a C+. But way more importantly than that is that he's there with Sable!! I promised Gorilla that I would stay here and keep reviewing the show, but I think all the blood is rushing away from my brain… the gist of the interview is that she's done with that guy, and in celebration of that, she's going to be in the ring later to finally show some more of her exhibitionist side! That was worth me sitting here watching the monitor for! I will definitely be tuning in later, so everyone at home should too!

We pointed out in our pre-Raw meeting that as of now, all announcers are to phase out referring to Triple H as “Hunter Hearst Helmsley”. That wouldn't mean anything to anybody reading my notes right now, except that Triple H is in the ring when we come back from commercial break, Chyna at his side. Triple H talks about how at WrestleMania, apparently Sgt. Slaughter, The Undertaker, and Mike Tyson pulled the wool over everyone's eyes by secretly being in cahoots with Mr. McMahon, and it has led to a huge upheaval of the WWF locker room. He says that Shawn is gone, and despite being his best friend, even he hasn't heard from Shawn since last night; even fossils like Jake Roberts have showed up in the locker room. Triple H then talks about my offer from earlier tonight, and says that he sat backstage and started to consider it, that maybe a man needs to eventually grow up, leave childish thoughts in the past, and go a little corporate in order to get ahead. He turns to Chyna and asks if she can picture him in a big, stuffy suit like Vince wears, and she stoically shakes her head. He agrees, saying that he just can't see him fitting in being a sell out like The Undertaker and his Brotherhood. Instead, the ball that Shawn fumbled at WrestleMania will be picked up by Triple H, and he says that the new “DX Army” is calling for war on Vince McMahon and all those who are loyal to him! The crowd go nuts for that, but Triple H says that unfortunately, as well as he and Chyna work together, he doesn't think that only the two of them can fight this kind of a war. But when you need new recruits for your army, the first place you turn to are your friends…

http://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/wwf-1/xpac.jpg

Out of the back comes Sean Waltman! Triple H meets him on the ramp for a big hug, and when they get into the ring, Waltman introduces himself as “no kid anymore” and he goes on a rant that I told him to about Eric Bischoff; without mentioning any names, to make sure that WCW don't try and say we're badmouthing them. He says that “X-Pac” is here to stay, and if anybody doesn't like it, they can suck it! Overall, a solid segment to re-debut Waltman; Chyna seemed to help him somehow, even if he did look a little lost. Hunter came across well, and all three set up their new gimmicks. Triple H and X-Pac as cool degenerates and Chyna as a realistic enforcer, all three coming in at a B according to Lanza. Shawn may be out, but there's no way we aren't going to make all the money we possibly can on DX merchandise.

We head backstage to where The Undertaker is seen, and he seems a little frustrated; and he's taking it out on Bob Holly and Steve Blackman, who were seemingly just hanging out watching the show. He decimates them in short order, and then turns to the camera. Paul Bearer laughs at the fallen superstars, as Undertaker says that Triple H just signed his death warrant by taking the name of the Brotherhood in vain. He says that the Kid, whatever number he goes by this week, is guilty by association, and the “Lord of Darkness” will have a void big enough to fit all of their careers, egos, and mortal souls when he chooses to pull the guillotine on them! This was short, but Paul did good by Undertaker here, and it really helped establish the dominance of the new World champion.

“The World's Strongest Man” Mark Henry vs. Tim Horner

This was an awful match devoid of all heat that killed the crowd; but at least Mark got a big win out of it. Horner, as a generic fan favorite (which Lanza rated as a C+) had no fan support whatsoever as he got thrown around and finally splashed for Henry's victory.

After the match was better, as the rest of The Nation met Mark at the top of the ramp with Honky Tonk Man along with them for an interview. The current Intercontinental champion shows off the new championship belt, for one:

http://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/wwf-1/ic2.jpg

But otherwise, he says that he is ready to put the past behind The Rock's Nation, as people like the Blackjacks and Ahmed and Faarooq are jabronis, and are not worth their time and patience anymore. He says that D'Lo and “The Godfather of the Nation” Kama were the final pieces of the puzzle, and it's only up from here on out. Honky keeps wanting to touch the new title belt, and that focus causes him to not do well off-script; however, The Rock does masterful, as he says that with Triple H's choice to turn down Mr. McMahon and declaration of war, The Rock says that The Nation have been personally asked by Mr. McMahon to destroy this three-man army, and that means Chyna too! The crowd boos that, which is funny because just last night they would have probably cheered Rocky for talking like that about Chyna. The Rock says (which is what he actually says) that Mr. McMahon has also asked him to come out here and announce that the main event tonight will feature three champions but two jabronis who need to know their damn roles, as The Rock teams up with The Undertaker to take on Triple H and Owen Hart! Overall, Honky underwhelmed, but Rock looked like a real star, despite whatever the hell he is wearing tonight, which seems to be a half-unbuttoned shirt from the 60s and khaki shorts, along with sockless loafers. Only The Rock could possibly pull this off, but hopefully he'll change into wrestling gear for later.

What the hell was that? Was that a commercial? Is USA airing a new show and advertising in our timeslot?

Russo: “Vince, that's one of our new stars…”

What? He'll never amount to anything. Too small.

Owen Hart is seen back at the interview cage, and we let him go on his own to talk about Commissioner Slaughter (who hasn't been seen tonight, and won't be on until next week, either) and myself. Hart says that he doesn't care what matches they try to put him into, because win, lose, or draw, he will continue to be “The Black Hart” and keep coming until the forces that be cannot screw he or his family over anymore!

WWF World Tag Team Championship match: Ladder Match

The New Age Outlaws vs. Cactus Jack and Chainsaw Charlie

Controversy immediately abounds as Charlie doesn't come out when Cactus does. Jack looks confused as to where his partner is, as the Outlaws just start taking over on him. This one features some solid action, but the heat just isn't there for this one. JR does a great job on commentary by putting out concerns about Chainsaw Charlie, asking whether the Outlaws attacked him before the match or something. Jack does well on his own, until Charlie finally emerges, and after Jack delivers a pulling piledriver to Gunn, Chainsaw slides a ladder into the ring to Cactus. Cactus takes a moment to bask in his upcoming victory, firing a “bang bang” to the crowd – and that's when Charlie hammers him with the ladder! Charlie throws Cactus out of the ring and slowly takes the “mask” off and throws it at Jack, before leaving the ring and walking back up the ramp. Jesse takes the initiative and throws Cactus into the ring steps, before he and Billy both climb up and grab the title belts, retaining them. The turn here was a complete success, the fans didn't seem to have any idea it was coming; but the match was off-balance compared to last night's, due to Terry's non-involvement. Still, it sets up some good future plans, so we will see where this goes.

After the pyro goes off for the 10:00 hour, Jim Ross and Jerry Lawler talk about what we've seen and what we are going to see; namely the World and Intercontinental champions, The Undertaker and The Rock, taking on the European champion and last night's challenger, Triple H and Owen Hart, in our huge tag team main event. JR says that “McMahon's cronies” need put in their place, but “The King” says that after they were at one another's throats for the past few months, there is no way they can work together tonight, so they're going to get slaughtered!

Honky Tonk is at the stage again, and this time he brings in some special guests…

http://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/wwf-1/jakeroberts.jpghttp://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/wwf-1/tullyblanchard.jpghttp://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/wwf-1/tafkagoldust.jpghttp://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/wwf-1/wwf-s/sherri.jpg

The crowd are shocked at the look of Jake, with short hair and wearing business attire. “The Snake” does the talking here as Tully stands to the side, and Goldust and Sherri are mocking the crowd as Dustin is still in his stripper cowboy attire. I think Sherri even whips his bare ass at some point during this. He is running around and we hear him saying that he's the “Queen of the Rodeo” tonight, but the focus here is meant to be on Roberts. Honky says that everyone was shocked to see Jake show up at WrestleMania last night, but the question everyone has is why he and Blanchard helped Goldust to beat down Ken Shamrock, who we don't even think is at the arena tonight. Honky does a good job of making up for earlier by improvising well here. Jake answers that there comes a time when what is old must give way to what is new; and there's no doubt that he and Blanchard are the old guard. “We just aren't ready to ride off into that sunset, though,” he explains. Jake says that it's been over a year since he was in the WWF, and since 1993 since Tully was last on national television. Roberts explains that when Mr. McMahon started having problems with Ken Shamrock, he turned to Goldust to help him with that problem. But there will always be another problem come up, and so Vince put out some feelers for some help – and Jake and Tully answered the call. Roberts says that like Lazarus, he and Blanchard will rise again, all thanks to the generosity of Mr. Vince McMahon; and with all due respect to Ken Shamrock, if that means Jake has to drop him on his head with the DDT until he gets the point and leaves the WWF, then so be it. Jake and Tully performed rather poorly here, and Roberts struggled to get all of that out while off-script, but I guess you can't get gold from the goose every time.

Jim Cornette is in the ring when we come back from break, and he says that he left commentary a few weeks ago because he's tired of seeing people being held down who are too talented for that. He says that he sat there next to Jim Ross like a good little trooper, when he should have been in the action of leading people to championship gold. With that in mind, he asks for Jeff Jarrett to join him in the ring. Cornette talks about Jarrett's accomplishments, being a two-time Intercontinental champion, countless time champion in the USWA, and everywhere else he's ever gone, gold has always come to Jeff Jarrett. He talks about knowing Jeff's father Jerry very well, and says that the only thing that could make Jeff's daddy prouder of his son would be to take Cornette's hand and be the first man aligned with Cornette's new clientele. Jeff takes all of that in, and he says that as great a speech as that is, and as much respect as he has and has always had for Jim Cornette, he declines – because the only way he's going to prove that he truly is the greatest wrestler in the WWF like he claims is by doing it by himself. He adds that nowhere in Jim's speech did he mention the reason so many people get held back: Vince McMahon himself, and that's the man who Jeff has in his sights! The crowd start getting behind Jarrett now, and he plays to it, saying “thanks, but no thanks” to Cornette!

As Jeff leaves the ring and heads up the ramp, Cornette isn't finished; and he says that nobody like Jeff should turn him down! This gets Jarrett's attention again, as Cornette says that Jarrett is a bland, uninteresting, midcard joke! He tells him to just go back to trying to be a country singer, because without Jim's help, he'll never be a star in the WWF or anywhere else in the world of wrestling! Jarrett starts coming back toward the ring, and he grabs Cornette by the lapels – but he's attacked from behind by, of all the random people, Steve Blackman and Bob Holly! “The Lethal Weapon” and the now former “Sparky Plugg” lay a two-on-one beatdown on Jarrett, with Cornette directing traffic. They leave Jarrett lying on the mat, and Cornette raises the hands of his new team. Bob seemed to perform a little poorly here, due to being the least popular member of this whole affair. That was a nice slow burn throughout the segment, but Jeff has now gone through a face turn as well as Blackman and Holly turning heel, all of which were a complete success. This has been a lot of turns on this show, I really have to take that up with Russo.

Backstage right before a commercial break, we see The Nation in their dressing room. The Rock, D'Lo, and Kama are all on their way out, as Mark Henry is apparently in the shower or feeding his fat face or something. Either way, Scorpio is the only man left in the room, and he wishes all of his companions luck in their matches tonight. He goes into the room, but doesn't close the door – and that's when Faarooq bursts in, and he assaults Scorpio, throwing him around the room before slamming him onto a small table! Faarooq leans over him and says that The Nation don't say when they move on, Faarooq says when he's done whipping their punk asses! He leaves the room, and hopefully The Nation didn't need Scorpio to run any interference later because he's down and out on the floor!

The Nation (D'Lo and “The Godfather of the Nation” Kama) w/Bobcat vs. The New Blackjacks

A good semi-main event match, albeit one we've seen quite a few times lately. They keep doing well though, and the fans don't mind, because now they have a reason to hate D'Lo and Kama and cheer the Blackjacks. Ross and Lawler do well bickering on the outside about The Nation. This one ends with controversy, as Goldust comes out again and goes riding around the ring on a hobby horse, and rubbing the stick of the horse around on his crotch toward the Blackjacks. Windham and Bradshaw leave the ring to confront the weirdo, and they end up getting counted out when Windham gets into a big argument with Dustin.

That's all well and good, until Ken Shamrock hops the railing in his street clothes and starts chasing Goldust down! Dustin, to his credit, never breaks character, running away on his hobby horse every step of the way, as a camera follows backstage to catch the chase. Shamrock finally catches him, but about that time is when Blanchard and Roberts hit the scene, and they lay into Shamrock. Ken fights back, but it's three on one, and “The Snake” breaks the stick horse over Ken's back as the beatdown commences. For the second time in not very long, Ken ends up laid out at the hands of what Jim Ross calls “Mr. McMahon's jackals”. I don't feel like that name will stick, especially given the only animal involved is a snake and not a jackal, but if he gets it over, then we might run with it. Tully just isn't popular enough in this role, as again he is found performing poorly. Shamrock's performance was good though, as the more this goes, the more pissed off he looks.

IT'S TIME FOR SABLE!!!! She comes out to the ring wearing only a robe, and it doesn't matter how many times I may see it, I'm still excited to see all the skin she can get away with on USA Network. Some stripping music starts to play, and the lights in the Nassau are changed to pink spotlights on her, as she starts dancing around a chair in the center of the ring. This is probably one of my favorite segments I've ever seen on Raw, at least until…

Pat Patterson: “Walk it off, kid, I've done worse to co-workers.”

Gorilla Monsoon: “Oh, Vince's notes, right. Mero comes out and says that despite what happened at WrestleMania and as of late, Sable is still under contract to him, and that means she still has to do what he says. Sable is sad about it, and the crowd really boos Marc and Ivory.”

“Black Hart” Owen Hart and Triple H w/Chyna vs. The Rock and “The Lord of Darkness” The Undertaker w/Paul Bearer

After a commercial break, I'm still in my office, because f*** Russo for that angle. I'll just make sure I'm ready for my cue to head out to the ring when it's time. This is a great match, and the crowd are good for it, but they start the match on their hands a bit. Owen is your face-in-peril for much of this match, until the point that he catches Rock with an enziguri and makes the hot tag to Triple H. Hart gets taken out at ringside by Rikishi Fatu, and Earl Hebner takes a hell of a bump when Undertaker ducks under Triple H's high knee strike. Hunter sets the World champion up for the Pedigree, but the lights go out……. and Kane appears in the middle of the ring when they burst back on, and he grabs Triple H for a powerful chokeslam! Kane backs over the top rope to ringside as Undertaker lifts Hunter off the mat and hits a Tombstone, crossing his arms as Earl Hebner makes the count to give the two champions the victory.

This one isn't over yet, as I come down to the ring along with the man being talked about as my personal bodyguard, Mike Tyson. With Owen and Rikishi having brawled away from the ring, The Rock leaves town before things get any weirder. That's when I order Undertaker, Kane, and Tyson to destroy Triple H, and they look ready to do so when Chyna is seen motioning to the back. X-Pac comes to the stage, but he isn't alone – as The New Age Outlaws are right there with him! The WWF Tag Team champions hit the ring and start hitting everything in sight, as Waltman jumps around looking like he's helping but really not doing anything – because his neck is still pretty banged up, he can't do a whole lot of physical action yet. Tyson and I leave quietly, and miss out on catching flack from the crowd because they are way more interested in what's happening in the ring. Four members of D-Generation X start to do some damage to Undertaker and Kane, as Chyna hits both with low blows that pop the crowd huge, and then Triple H and the Outlaws hit a triple-team clothesline that sends both of them to ringside! The crotch chops ensue, and the brothers leave the ring, looking pissed off. Where do I even begin? James and Waltman really looked out of place here oddly, but Waltman and Tyson seemed to perform better than usual. Taker performed fantastic, and Kane's performance was good as well. The Outlaws are now faces, firmly aligned with DX now, which had only been a slight alliance before has now led to them being full members.

The show isn't over though; as the champion and Kane are leaving, however, Triple H takes a microphone and gets Undertaker's attention. He says that while Vince McMahon was too busy worrying about making new titles, President Gorilla Monsoon has already put the contract together for next month at WWF Unforgiven; as The Undertaker will be defending the World title against…

http://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u628/beejus1/wwf-1/vader.jpg

The crowd actually pops huge as Vader comes out! Undertaker's performance here is great, as he sneers and starts heading toward “The Mastodon”, but Vader gets the upper hand and puts Undertaker on his ass! The show closes with Vader joining DX in the ring, with the turncoat Brotherhood looking on from the ramp! And I will be heading back to my office to find Sable and tell her to finish that chair dance she was doing.
