ThunderVerse 2014 Platinum Release Thread

Having a creative block right now - I opened up American Sports Entertainment with Terry Thunder as the owner/booker and am currently angling for a TV slot. However, I am at a quandary as to what to name the show if/when I get it. Thoughts?

I am sorry for the noob question, I've tried searching and didn't find it. I hardly ever play any mods, but this one has piqued my interest and today I downloaded. I created the new database just fine, but when trying to run the .exe file that had the logos & graphics nothing seemed to happen. Does the game need to be running for that to execute properly? Did I just install a virus or something? Thanks for the help.

If you installed something bad, those programs should find it.</p>

Hi could somebody possibly help me out with a problem with the picture folder? I can't seem to open even though I have one of those ZIP things. I was able to get it for the RW mod but yeah.

 

Really cool mod. I started in Australia and am looking to turn Gold Coast Wrestling into a decent competitor to T-1 and BINGO.

EDIT - OK, a bit beginnerish here. I was expecting 'awards' or some such to be something I could import into an in game DB but that doesn't seem to be the case. Then I was I was expecting 'awards' to be something I could access and import into in the 'edit database' menu from the home screen - also not the case. If I wanted to see these awards, do I need to switch to this DB completely? If not, which bits need to be imported and anyway of getting it into my current save?

 

I was also hoping to add some narratives to my current save but after a couple of tries I figured this wasn't possible either - if somebody could confirm or deny that for me too that would be great.

You'll have to set up a new database. I think my file is TVPlatAwards. You can then go into and edit any other database you want and import the 'End of Year' records from the TVPlatAwards database (or whatever you call the database).

 

And as far as I know there's no way to get these into a current save. New saves only.

My efforts towards the hype of ThunderVerse Vice have been fairly tame in comparison to the rest of the teams! As a result I thought I would showcase ten wrestlers over the next five days. However, I am going to let you all have say in matters. Simply pick a year and a month and I will find a worker (hopefully interesting in some way!) that debuted in that particular month to showcase. I will allow debuts past 1980, but I won't showcase anyone who is already in the Platinum version so it may be slightly more difficult to guess a correct month!

"Mr Ooh La La" Mailhairer Hébert is one of a new generation of European wrestlers, a generation who have seen pictures of guys like Nick Valiant and Ford Memphis in the wrestling press pulling off over-the-top gimmicks, and like it! As such, Hébert plays an out-and-out ladies man and is said to have quite a fan club amongst female audience members. On top of this Hébert is actually a very fine wrestler in the ring too.

 

Hébert's on-again-off-again feud with three-year PEW European Heavyweight champion Maslin Moreau has seen him rise from the midcard to near main event scene over the last two years, and many feel that if he continues to shine he could well be the man to take the belt off Moreau...eventually.

 

 

 

STRENGTHS: Good charisma and star quality. Decent basics and psychology but excellent selling ability.

WEAKNESSES: Not a particularly great "top row" worker, Hébert also lacks the power you would expect of a man his size.

 

CURRENT POWER 500 POSITION: #61

 

CANON FUTURE: Would go on to become the man who famously ended the five year European Heavyweight title run of Maslin Moureau in 1982. Would win a second title in 1985. Hung up his boots and quit the business following the closure of PEW in November 2000.

 

IN-GAME POTENTIAL: Pan European Wrestling has a fantastic main event lineup, from Terry Thunder-esque champion Maslin Moureau to French mat wizard Bartlett Couture. While he might not be the best grappler amongst them, Hébert has perhaps the best drawing potential outside of Moureau. Plus, at 24 he is the youngest of the main eventers by at least five years, meaning he definitely has time on his side!

Out of interest, if it doesn't give too much away, how have you handled promotions like Tokyo Steel/LETHAL and WWW/WWWE who re-brand in between the start of the mod and the current day? Are there going to be narratives to prompt the player to make changes, or new companies or will the game continue with the original promotions?

There are a number of narratives called "On This Day" which outline major events in the canon history of the ThunderVerse. The name changes will be one of them, as will major promotions closing. There will be others of course, but I don't want to spoil too many them

 

Of course, the option is then there for players to change things in the editor if they wish.
