<p>I don't see them taking the belt off Kenny Omega before Wrestle Kingdom at all.</p><p> </p><p>

It would make no sense to do so, and they are trying to expand in America so look for that to play a big role in what they do. Yes Japan is their home base, but with their new President? I believe he is President, looking to expand outside of Japan look for a lot of Wrestle Kingdom traditions to be tweaked.</p><p> </p><p>

Ishii would be a good choice, but I see him being up for a title shot at King of Pro Wrestling in October.</p><p> </p><p>

Okada and Omega would be too soon...</p><p> </p><p>

The 2 scenarios I could see happening both end up with Kota Ibushi Challenging Kenny Omega.</p><p> </p><p>

Kenny wins, and picks Ibushi to face him, OR Ibushi wins the entire tournament.</p><p> </p><p>

I do not see Tama Tonga in that spot anytime soon, he's had a mediocre G1, and there are way too many shenanigans going on in his matches. That and I don't believe he is ready just yet as a singles star to take on that spot. I could see him challenging Juice for the US Championship before anything else. I mean he has mainly wrestled tag matches the last few years and his singles matches thus far have been kind "meh" and you don't want that heading into WK even tho the story is there.</p><p> </p><p>

As far as Naito goes, as much as I like him I see one of two things, either he has a rematch with Jericho at WK for the IC, or he ends up in some multi man match.</p><p> </p><p>

And with the story being told on this tour with Jay White and the stunts he's been pulling on Chaos, I could see them doing Okada vs White before I could see them putting Okada back into the Main Event.</p>

<p>They're probably doing Okada vs Omega at the Dome. People seem to like it, it draws big and it creates a lot of buzz both domestic and international. They still have mileage in the storyline too, there's champions and there's "Dome champions". Winning on the biggest show of the year is a different ball game.</p><p> </p><p>

However, Omega winning G1 would be nice, if only to retire this silly stipulation of the G1 winner headlining Wrestle Kingdom. I find it hard to get interested in the G1 because the winner is always going to be one or two guys...</p><p> </p><p>

I do think some people are trying to work a way into the unlikely WK main event of Omega vs. Ibushi though, I've seen interest in this match elsewhere too and for my money that isn't happening. They'll need to get three of their four top stars in the top two matches. Ibushi is perhaps the fifth or sixth top star. A clash with Omega is more a Dominion headline match than a Wrestle Kingdom main event at the moment.</p><p> </p><p>

If they do run Omega vs Ibushi as the main, then Okada vs Naito has to be the semi main, nothing else will make sense when you structure the card because three of the top four stars will make up the top two matches, so three from Omega, Okada, Naito and Tanahashi. They can afford to leave one of their top four stars out (probably Tanahashi again), but having only two of the top four guys composing the top two matches will create an imbalanced card where two of the four wrestle in a match third from the top. Imagine a card of Omega vs Ibushi, Jericho vs Naito, Okada vs Tanahashi... it could work but it's a big gamble.</p><p> </p><p>

They'll do everything in their power to avoid a WK8 situation again, where the top two stars made up the IC title match and the fans voted for it to headline over the IWGP Heavyweight title. They'll put their best foot forward, and right now that's Omega vs Okada.</p>

I think the G1 winner challenging for the title at WK is too ingrained now to go away, though I do get your point. They do have the briefcase defense matches to give at least a little wiggle room, but I don't think those mean much until someone actually loses the shot in one of them.

I do actually think Omega vs. Ibushi could happen at WK, but if it did I don't think it would be the main event. Before the G1 I kind of thought Naito would beat Omega to set up a title match at KOPW, which he would win to set up a rematch against G1 winner Okada in the Dome. Obviously that didn't happen. Now I'm leaning towards Omega vs. Okada in the main event with Jericho vs. Naito as the semi main, but honestly I hope they do something different. I'm sure those would be two great matches to close the show, but I'd rather see them switch it up instead of rehashing the top matches from Dominion.

Just wanted to mention that njpw is going to ban the so called swearing and up with their new president Harold Meij. Do you think Tama went a bit too far, or is this start of new japan pg era? Many people are against it as it destroys the Realism of the product and think if anyone would want to watch Jericho's promo anymore?

<p>I'm fine with it if true. I'm not bothered by the swearing, but it doesn't add much of anything to the show either.</p><p> </p><p>

I heard Tama Tonga got in trouble for something, but I'm not entirely clear on what it was. I've had my fill of this NWO Red vs. NWO B-Team storyline, so I've skipped the last several G1 matches of Tama and Fale, aside from the Ibushi match since it was important to the standings.</p>

I agree, most of the people say that this is the end of NJPW, which makes a laugh. Swearing is a flavoring, Wrestling is what makes New Japan great, and also none of my Favorite Wrestlers in New Japan swears. <img alt=":D" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

<p>Contrary to popular belief, swearing is not what makes a show PG or not (see: Roman Reigns using the B word fairly often).</p><p> </p><p>

Maybe they’ll have to learn to cut actual promos now instead of screaming vulgarities. It won’t hurt someone like Juice Robinson who cuts incredible promos with or without. If that’s the crutch you need to come across decent you probably aren’t very good (Tama isn’t).</p>

I mean cutting promo doesn't require any swearing at all, just say everything heart and it would be great! I have never liked Tama Tonga actually, and I am really confused with this bullet club storyline. I would rather watch the young lions' match than Tama Tonga matches with interferences. Kenny never needed to swear, and he is the best worker.

I think the njpw banning swearing is just a work to build Tama as a heel and show bullet club's main purpose in the first place. I think new member incoming at the beginning block, if Tama Tonga or any blog interferes then they will be fined and banned for 3 months.lol this can be used to switch jay white or taiji.

Does that mean all the people who bash Tama on Twitter owe him an apology? <img alt=":D" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p>

<p>Just watched the conclusion of A block.... that's some good stuff right there. <img alt=":)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p>

As for Bullet Club related things, Tama was the one who introduced Taiji Ishimori so it 100% makes sense for him to join the rest of the Firing Squad. Hikuleo, the other Tongan would presumably also be headed that way since he's family and all that, which makes for a solid group size even if the group itself has no-one ranked high enough to really be a contender for a top title. That said, I generally like Tama as a performer... he's something a little different from the rest of the roster.... though also not a top tier talent. G.O.D are great as a team and will always be a threat there, which is a good thing for the group.</p><p> </p><p>

I'm also hoping the PG thing is just a work... not because swearing somehow makes everything better (it doesn't) but because people being people is what makes NJPW great. Having the ability to swear makes things feel a bit more real and the ability to buy into NJPW's reality is what makes the company so good in general. If a large chunk of the roster suddenly started shifting away from the personality they have built up already it would detract from that a bit... though in the case of Juice Robinson in particular I certainly wouldn't mind him toning it down a bit. He's a babyface, he doesn't need to be f-bombing all over the place. <img alt=":p" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p>

Excited to see the B block finale later on too... hopefully I can watch it before I head to bed, there should be some great things coming out of that. <img alt=":D" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p>

<p>Tana/Okada and Omega/Ibushi were fantastic.</p><p> </p><p>

As much as I would love Ibushi to main event WK, Tana makes more sense to me. Taking the title off "unbeatable" Okada and then successfully defending it against Tana at WK would cement Omega as the new ace. Or if Omega decides to take Vince's big money offer (I doubt it) they could put the title on Tana.</p>

So yeah Tanahashi wins the G-1 Tournament, and Shibata looks like a maniac holding Tanahashi above his shoulder lol! Kota Ibushi was a beast, but the former ace had to step inorder to solidify the new killer, or is it that Tanahashi wins the Title at WK, and then Okada steps in...<img alt=":D" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

And I was going to keep this spoiler free for at least a day too. :p

The final was an epic main event and I have to admit, I was supporting Ibushi all the way but when the crowd were all chanting Tana's name when he was doing his best job of getting straight murdered... I could feel it going that way. I thought they might have been building to a Ibushi vs Omega main event for WK (which would be amazing without the time limits and G1 wear and tear) with Okada vs Tanahashi as a semi main where Tana tries to get his first win on Okada in something like 4 years....

But it looks like I was wrong, as I often am with NPJW. Which also makes me happy, because I don't want everything to be predictable even if it would be great. I'm excited to see what's next, having watched every match of the G1 (including tags) and gotten to know the roster so much better. There are lots of contenders set up for most of the titles and Omega vs Ishii for the big belt is going to be unbelievable, just as their G1 encounter was to set it up. :D

I didn't have a strong rooting interest heading into the finals, as the idea of either guy potentially headlining WK sounded cool to me. (I love Okada, but I'd really rather he be second or third from the top this year.) But the moment I looked, did a double take and said "Hey, is that Shibata holding the ropes open for Tanahashi?!", I was 1000% behind him. That moment of Shibata carrying Tanahashi on his shoulders after the match legit gave me goosebumps.

I was rooting for Ibushi since tournament started and was on board with whole Golden Lovers storyline playing out. The moment I saw Shibata, I was all in on Tana. What an awesome Main Event! NJPW being awesome without being predictable.

Their match at Wrestle Kingdom was my favourite of the night so this one should be even better now there's more to fight for, and White has coming along quite nicely in the last 9 months, he definitely feels more settled into his persona.</p>

<p>As long as neither man wins the contract I see no problem with it.</p><p> </p><p>

Jay White is not ready just yet, and to be honest I personally have no intrest in seeing Okada/Omega again at this present moment.</p><p> </p><p>

Now if Kenny were to lose the belt between now and then, that's a different story.</p><p> </p><p>

But even tho I am not a real big fan of Tanahashi, I'd much rather see him wrestle Omega, since if I recall they haven't had a singles match at all?</p><p> </p><p>

Please correct me if I am wrong, I know they were suppose to battle in ome sort of ladder match for the IC belt last year, but Tanahashi was injured.</p>

But I'm a big Jay White fan. He's improved a bunch and I think criticisms against him are fair that he's not the most polished or even boring, but he's still got plenty of time to get better. His character work is top notch though imo.</p><p> </p><p> And obviously, Tanahashi/Okada will be golden.</p>
