<p>May 1987 as WWF on the 87 mod. </p><p> </p><p>

In a bit of a holding/ filler feuds for a lot of people as I set up the big feuds going through KOTR going into Summerslam.</p><p> </p><p>

Savage is feuding with Steamboat, trying to get a rematch for his IC title- The rematch will happen at Summerslam. Steamboat will feud with Jake Roberts for a chunk of the second half of 1987. </p><p> </p><p>

Hogan and Piper are teaming up to take on the Heenan Family's Bob Orton Jr and Harley Race. The ending of this feud will result in Piper Turning on Hogan and battling for the Heavyweight title.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

Road Warriors overcame The Harts for the Tag titles and the rematch and have now been targeted by The Dream Team: Beefcake & Valentine. Just a Filler feud whilst I decide what to do with The Bulldogs and Hart Foundation. Deciding if to have Bret go solo at end of the year, also deciding if to release Dynamite Kid as Bulldog has don well solo during Dynamites injury.. 2 PPV's time will se the Tag Team Classic (Tag KOTR): I need to decide my top teams going forward by the time I book it.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

The Rockers pull off a couple of great wins in their first few matches and experts are claiming they could be the youngest ever Tag team champions. This draws the attention of the Harts who are looking to regain some pride after losing their title to the Road Warriors. Harts expect to whip The Young Upstart Rockers but will it all go the Harts way?</p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

Sting,</p><p>

Dibiase</p><p>

Thunder Liger</p><p>

Mutoh </p><p>

Razor</p><p>

Curt Hennig</p><p>

The Undertaker</p><p>

Vader</p><p>

Rockers</p><p> </p><p>

Have been picking up wins on B shows and in promos on Raw building them up to replace the old and the useless higher up the card. Vader will be built up and fed to Hogan and rebuilt.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

The Undertakers Reign of Terror. Undertake has a short feud with Bruno Sammartino and retired the legend at Wrestlemania, a fan of Bruno's, Jim Duggen sought out Taker for revenge... The Undertaker is all too Happy to punish Duggen and end his career too.</p>

Year One at Ring of Honor is Complete and we are in to 2003. Bryan Danielson has managed to keep a hold of his Ring of Honor World title through some tough challenges from the likes of Samoa Joe, Joel Maximo, AJ Styles and Steve Corino in recent months, meanwhile the Second City Saints, CM Punk and Colt Cabana, have maintained their position atop the Tag Team division for the better part of 6 months now. In February, we will have our first anniversary show where we will see Bryan Danielson defend his Ring of Honor World Championship against Prince Devitt, who has been unbeaten since his debut in ROH. In addition to that, the team of Steve Corino and KENTA have been on a roll since joining forces and they will go to war with the Second City Saints in New York on ROH's first birthday!

I formed an alliance with every indy company around the world and Pro Wrestling NOAH called the World Wrestling Network and it has been great so far. Our title, the WWN Global Championship has an A* prestige and has really elevated some guys to the top of my roster. It's went from Steve Corino who was averaging B's every show, to Jushin Thunder Liger, back to Corino, to Evan Karagis (Don't ask), and now Samoa Joe has it. Since Joe won the title, he has had a meteoric rise. His pop is at C+ in every region of the States, which can only be matched by Devitt, and he has been putting on the best matches on the card every show. What is great to see for me is the new generation of talent is finally overtaking the old guard as the most valuable guys on the roster. I hated seeing my franchise players being Jerry Lynn, Jushin Liger, Curt Hennig, etc. Now it is:

- Prince Devitt

- Samoa Joe (WWN Global Champion)

- Homicide

- Bryan Danielson (ROH Champion)

- Joel Maximo

The future is looking bright for ROH, with AJ Styles, CM Punk, Colt Cabana, Brian Kendrick, Steve Corino, KENTA, etc. all on the cusp of stardom, hopefully we can keep this momentum going strong in 2003.

Are developing relationships like that something that can be hard-coded into a mod? I'm a few months into a game with The Superfly Effect mod and Flair has also taken both Johnny Ace and Shane Douglas as proteges, which makes me wonder if that's something that always happens with that data. Particularly humorous, though, given the real-life history of Flair and Douglas.. :)

I don't think it's possible for something like this to be programmed in. I think it's just a huge coincidence.

As for Evan Karagis, that question is better asked to Jeff Jarrett and the wonderful folks at Total Nonstop Action. Seriously, I got the news notification and my jaw almost hit the floor. Evan's been doing jobs ever since as a punishment and TNA was expelled from the Alliance. Anytime I see that a company has loaned the title I get a little nervous incase some jobber beats one of my top guys.</p>

<p>Just finished my first year and the shows have gone well, with plenty through the cards it is hard not to have them do well. The Dudley Boyz fame is rising, and they have now established themselves as the number one contenders. Elsewhere, Farooq reigns supreme and Mick Foley represents APW strongly in our alliance, having defended the title twice in Japan to Mutoh and Chono. With the upper and comers, Ultimo Dragon has been given the strongest push, teaming up with Kane (injured) and a young(ish) James Mitchell to form a demonic cult that is claiming it's first few victims. Elsewhere Japanese talents are finding their footing on American soil and a few imports have added a thoroughly competitive depth to the roster.</p><p> </p><p>

On to the show recaps:</p><p> </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">APW 5</span></strong></p><p> </p><p>

<em><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Universal Title Match</span></em></p><p>

<strong>Farooq</strong> defeated Dean Malenko, and Ken Shamrock.</p><p> </p><p>

<em>In his first defense as champion, the former tag team champion had to fed off to technical challengers in the Official number one contender, Malenko, and the Unofficial number one contender, Ken Shamrock. The latter had tormented Malenko in the weeks leading up to the title match and finally earned his spot with a decisive victory over former challenger, Terry Gordy.</em> </p><p> </p><p>

<em><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Global Title Match</span></em></p><p>

<strong>Mick Foley</strong> defeated Mike Awesome</p><p> </p><p>

<em>Fresh off a defense in Japan, Mick Foleys return to the States was welcomed by the boot of Mike Awesome who was envious off the global acclaim Foley had been receiving whilst he remained, "wrestling nobodies".</em></p><p> </p><p>

<em><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Tag Team Title Match</span></em></p><p>

<strong>Miracle Violence Connection</strong> defeated Dan Severn & Jimmy Garvin</p><p> </p><p>

<em>A blast from the past came aboard to prevent MVC from another brutal beatdown. However, it put him directly in their line of fire. Needing someone who can handle himself, Garvin offered out an opportunity to the locker room, and hard man Dan Severn took up the challenge. A previous victim of an unprovoked attack by the MVC.</em></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>The Steiner Brothers</strong> defeated The Dudley Boyz</p><p> </p><p>

<em>The two teams have been at each others throats ever since The Steiner Brothers debuted and went straight into a title match. Stepping over The Dudley Boyz off of name alone, the Boyz finally got to see what that reputation was built upon.</em></p><p> </p><p>

<em><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Cruiserweight Title Match</span></em></p><p>

<strong>Chris Candido</strong> defeated Jerry Lynn, Alex Wright, and Rey Mysterio Jnr</p><p> </p><p>

<em>Several challengers laid their claim to this title and it was the returning star who overcame his daemons to force his way into the spotlight and looked unstoppable in doing so.</em></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Scott Norton</strong> defeated The Crew</p><p> </p><p>

<em>Norton came into APW as a former Global champion, having held the title for NJPW and defended it around the world. He wasn't humble about it. And with men like Mantel & Finley around, that sort of attitude isn't going to sit too well. And so it proved. The Crew looked to put that ego to the test.</em></p><p> </p><p>

<em><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Showcase Match</span></em></p><p>

<strong>Papa Shango</strong> defeated Michael Hayes</p><p> </p><p>

<em><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Showcase Match</span></em></p><p>

<strong>The All-Asian All Stars (Taka Michinoku & Kaz Hayashi)</strong> defeated The Headhunters</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Ultimo Dragon</strong> defeated Kane</p><p> </p><p>

<em>This was less of a match and more of a spectacle, announcing a new force within the APW. Little is known about the cult, but when the big man Kane is willing to lie down and let a man pin him, who knows what is to come next.</em></p><p> </p><p>

-</p><p> </p><p>

<strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">APW 6</span></strong></p><p> </p><p>

<em><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Universal Title Match</span></em></p><p>

<strong>Farooq</strong> defeated Mick Foley</p><p> </p><p>

<em>In his second defense of the title, Foley looked to cash in his rematch. Pre-occupied in previous months with the Global title, the hardcore menace decided it was finally time to get the man one on one and was determined for that to happen.</em></p><p> </p><p>

<em><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Tag Team Title Match</span></em></p><p>

<strong>Miracle Violence Connection</strong> defeated The Steiner Brothers</p><p> </p><p>

<em>Having earned their contendership by dispatching The Dudley Boyz, there was no one else for MVC to face except their ultimate challenge. Weeks of violence preceded the upcoming match, with Gordy and Williams doing everything possible to disrupt the match. The team got their way, isolating Rick Steiner whilst his brother was in the ring, ensuring that at least one man would go into the match injured.</em></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Ken Shamrock</strong> defeated Papa Shango</p><p> </p><p>

<em>Shamrock finally put to bed a month of harassment from the voodoo priest, whose strange alliance with Farooq and Shamrocks contendership saw him take an odd obsession with the mixed martial artist.</em></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>The Dudley Boyz</strong> defeated The Pitbulls</p><p> </p><p>

Looking to re-establish themselves within the division, they took on a newly debuted team that had made an immediate impact.</p><p> </p><p>

<em><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Cruiserweight Title Match</span></em></p><p>

<strong>Chris Candido</strong> defeated Dean Malenko</p><p> </p><p>

<em>Fresh off his failed shot at the Universal title Malenko, Candido made him an offer he couldn't refuse. Looking to solidfy his reign against an established star, Candido took to cheap tactics to get his way and comeback kid's reign turned sour.</em></p><p> </p><p>

<em><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Showcase Match</span></em></p><p>

<strong>10 Gauge (Mike Awesome & Scott Norton)</strong> defeated Dan Severn & Bill DeMott</p><p> </p><p>

<em><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Showcase Match</span></em></p><p>

<strong>Ultimo Dragon</strong> defeated Alex Wright, and Rey Mysterio Jnr</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>The All-Asian All Stars</strong> defeated The Crew</p><p> </p><p>

<em>The Asian superstars thought they had picked an easy target, having seen The Crew dismantled by one man a month ago, but they vastly underestimated the fight in both these men.</em></p><p> </p><p>

<p>I kind of lost control on the rising storms 1991 WCW game. Holding world series and inviting WWF to the NWA, etc, then taking Hogan and Warrior. Just lost motivation after that, making it too easy. Shame because it was going well for a while. </p><p> </p><p>

So now I've went back to what I'm familiar with. Still on Rising Storms, but going for WWF this time. Keeping Vince on as my boss, so I already know it will be more of a struggle. WCW beat me to Steamboat and Rick Martel. Vince wont let me spend. It is cool.</p><p> </p><p>

First thing I did was bring the Hollywood Blonds in. Just brought them in as a team straight away due to their success on my previous game. Pillman was only on ppa at WCW. They had the tag titles up to 98 prestige. Incredible. Not expecting the same here, but I'm going to push hard and have them ready for a title shot at Wrestlemania, and possible win. Since I want to get Bret going on his own. </p><p> </p><p>

Hulk Hogan did not get entered in the Royal Rumble because he probably wouldn't have accepted losing. Jake Roberts turned heel and gave him 2 ddt on the floor as Hogan was making his entrance to the match. Hogan vs Jake will co headline WM 7. Main event will be Warrior vs Savage.</p>

<p>Weird Question</p><p> </p><p>

Hello guys,</p><p>

Is it possible to run a show with all "Hire Local" talent? (i.e. without having anyone under contract).</p><p> </p><p>

The idea would be for a local to global series where the first week is just "scouting combines" for unemployed workers only. any insight?</p>

<p>So Samoa Joe was hired by OVW for one night only and was booked to drop the Global title to Chris Kanyon, worst part is, because Kanyon is under a developmental deal, I cant loan him to take the title off of him. The title has already dropped from A prestige to B+ after 2 weeks, so that sucks. Anyway just finished my anniversary show.</p><p> </p><p>

ROH Tag Team Titles:</p><p>

KENTA & Steve Corino defeated the Second City Saints to win the ROH Tag Team Titles. After CM Punk turned on Cabana, blaming him for the loss</p><p> </p><p>

Samoa Joe defeated Jushin Thunder Liger</p><p> </p><p>

Londrick defeated Team Friendship (Chris Sabin & El Generico)</p><p> </p><p>

AJ Styles defeated Jerry Lynn & Kaz Hayashi, and was then destroyed by Samoa Joe</p><p> </p><p>

Homicide defeated Cheerleader Melissa</p><p> </p><p>

The S.A.T defeated the F.B.I to earn a tag title shot in the future</p><p> </p><p>

Nigel McGuinness defeated Alex Wright</p><p> </p><p>

Prince Devitt defeated Bryan Danielson to win the ROH World title</p><p> </p><p>

Devitt vs Bryan was the highest rated match I have had in the save (B+) and the show was also the highest rated show I've had in the save (B+). Also Scott Hall vs Ric Flair is the Wrestlemania main event, 2003 Scott Hall in the Mania main event surely cant a great idea</p>

<p>We are in week 2 of December in my USPW save.</p><p> </p><p>

Previously we've acquired the likes of Remo, Valiant, Hawkins, Andrews, The New Wave, Edd Stone, Ricky DeColt, Hanna, and other younger talents. </p><p> </p><p>

The World Title feud between Andrews and World Champ Rick Law had to be ended early due to Andrews blowing out his ACL, surgery went well instead of 11 months he's out only 9. This is unfortunate for both him and Law as Law's newest feud is against Damien (AKA Hell's Bouncer) which he will most likely lose, letting Damien have his first, but not last I hope, run with the gold.</p><p> </p><p>

Remo and Frehley have renewed their own feud in USPW. I think Remo goes over here, though with Damien as champ I may have Frehley take it so he can challenge the heel champ. We shall see. </p><p> </p><p>

The Keith brothers are both Upper midcarders as are the team of Roger Cage and Nelson Callum, AKA Pinnacle. I see all four men in the main event eventually. </p><p> </p><p>

The New Wave are Tag champs but are being challenged by the likes of Cali Slick and Frantic Ali. I'm thinking The Wave lose the belts here for a spell.</p><p> </p><p>

Andre Jones and Kirk Jameson hold the National and TV titles respectively, both are dealing with their own feuds atm, but the eventual goal is a unification match with the National title being retired.</p><p> </p><p>

Frost(Nadia Snow) unseated Melody as Women's champ and Alina America, newly recalled from development teamed up with then betrayed Alicia Strong, hoping to gain notoriety from the act. On a purely popularity and skill level she's doing amazingly well for herself and that 90 Star Quality doesn't hurt her either.</p><p> </p><p>

Out in the world MAW and BCG have gone under, being bought out by myself. Several MAW workers were brought in and dumped into my development territory and Sam Keith is now a Road Agent of mine. AAA is in debt and if they don't pull out soon I may end up buying them out as well. Muahahaha. </p><p> </p><p>

Peeking at the editor I see Sammy Bach's contract is coming due from TCW and I'm game to make him a part of the USPW family. </p><p> </p><p>

All in All Fun times ahead!</p>

Okay, this isn't my game, per se. Its a test game. But I thought it was interesting and felt like sharing.

Been toying around with my own version of Genadi's 2001 WCW Survives mod for some time. WCW is owned by Shane McMahon and are at Cult. Still have some talent but the top stars are mostly gone. The idea is to have to build them back up and build new stars from the new generation of talent. Now, in most games I run, I start a child promotion and stock it with talent. I've typically opened the biggest child promotion I could afford. But in testing, I tried opening the smallest size and making them a touring promotion. They actually end up growing quite quickly, especially since the product is performance equals popularity and they have some really talented young workers. So my plan is to open up four promotions in total - three men's and one women's - and stock them with a dozen or so prospects each.

One of the things I would like to do when I can afford it is open a broadcaster. Because it will be a while in-game before WCW could afford a broadcaster bigger than what they can get normally, I was toying with the idea of just waiting until I can afford the smallest size and going with that. So to test that idea, I created a backup of the data, then gave WCW its own broadcaster (Tiny range in the US), created the four child promotions (all with zero popularity to start), gave each of them a TV show on the WCW-owned broadcaster, and about 10 prospects per promotion on developmental deals.

A year sim... All four promotions are at F popularity across the US and E- in their home region. The main talent on each roster mostly started with F or F- popularity, and are now around D+. Higher in their home regions. Styles is C in the promotions home region (Mid Atlantic), and CM Punk is B- (Great Lakes).

I've kept the sim going as I'm curious how much they grow. But for anyone wondering... with a broadcaster you own showing TV for a child promotion, you absolutely can emulate NXT and have workers become popular enough to move right into your midcard.

1987 db as WWF into May.

My original plan of Piper and Hogan teaming up against Heenan family and then Piper turning on Hogan and winning the title hit a snag when, when I went to set the turn Piper was strongly against it stating he felt he still had a few more years left as a face and that he was making a lot of money in merch as a face.

So now The plans have changed slightly.. Heenan Family members Bob Orton Jr and Harley Race will be joined by fellow stable mate King Kong Bundy in trying to take down Hogan and Piper... but Davey Boy Smith comes to help Hogan and Piper.

Davey will eventually turn on Piper/Hogan and capture the title with help from Heenan Family putting Hogan out injured.

Davey will be a transitional champion and Piper will look for revenge for Hogan and capture the title.

Savage will be built up during this time and will feud with Piper and take the title at Royal Rumble to lead to a match against Hogan at WM4. Hogan will win the rumble.

Just went through Unforgiven, with Vader and Paul Wight defeating the Brothers of Destruction, Shawn Michaels defeating Triple H (who was kicked out of DX and replaced with Jeff Jarrett), and Ken Shamrock getting the #1 Contendership spot for the title on the End of Year SmackDown special the Thursday after (the pilot to WWF SmackDown itself) over Stone Cold and The Rock.

Then on the End of Year SmackDown, The Rock and Stone Cold beat The Brothers of Destruction, and Ken Shamrock defeated Vader for the WWF title via KO, to close out 1998.

END OF YEAR AWARDS UPDATE

WWF Awards: Company of the Year, Show of the Year (Judgement Day), Announcer of the Year (Jim Ross), Colour Commentator of the Year (Jerry Lawler), Referee of the Year (Earl Hebner)

NJPW Awards: Wrestler of the Year (Masahiro Chono), Team of the Year (Chono and Mutoh), Match of the Year (Kensuke Sasaki/Masahiro Chono), Veteran of the Year (Genichiro Tenryu), Most Improved, Manager of the Year (Mil Mascaras)

Other: Female Wrestler of the Year (Manami Toyota), Indy Wrestler of the Year (Espanto Jr.), Young Wrestler of the Year (Cibernetico)

In other news, at WCW Starrcade 1998, Roddy Piper defeated Sting to win the World Heavyweight Championship. Sting reigned from March to December, after defeating Hulk Hogan at Uncensored. Meanwhile, Hogan is still filming a movie (since August), and he'll be back in the latter half of 1999. Oh, and WCW has been at Cult size since April of last year.
