So this is going to be a ridiculously long post as I put together everything I've been doing in my BHOTWG for almost 3 years. Get coffee now if you actually want to make it through reading all this. :p I'm also going to be posting it in the BHOTWG thread and the What's Going On In Your Game threads, so don't read both of them. :p

First up...

I would also love to see the tournament template. Also, do you have any advice for setting up a round robin tournament and the international dojos/development territories? I've wanted to do both of those for a while now and plan on doing them once I get my network to be more extensive

<p>Thanks for the responses guys, I'm more than a little surprised that so many of you had the time to read so much. That was a hella long post I wrote. <img alt=":p" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /> Anywho, as promised here are links to the sheets I've been using to organise things and the save game. <img alt=":)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> SHEETS - <a href="https://drive.google.com/open?id=18BfnclErry31KBct6wUlYGVkHq-DgdK5" rel="external nofollow">https://drive.google.com/open?id=18BfnclErry31KBct6wUlYGVkHq-DgdK5</a></p><p> SAVEGAME - <a href="https://drive.google.com/open?id=1Ph8cdAKGHqUBtIlckzNPeYKGkaw1pFpn" rel="external nofollow">https://drive.google.com/open?id=1Ph8cdAKGHqUBtIlckzNPeYKGkaw1pFpn</a></p><p> </p><p> I also have a word document that I have been using to keep things organised for my junior and heavyweight divisions, young lions, development and stuff but it's very messy and doesn't really give much information that a casual look would use. One section tracks logical challengers for titles, which is usually just a list of people who have beaten the champion in tournament or tag action (sometimes in loans to other companies), sometimes with some personal elements thrown in. If I see that I'm getting short of challengers, or that someone has too many then it's time to make some matches to fix that. The only other thing I would add is that I have a list of tiers that my roster is roughly divided up into... here are the active heavyweights and juniors for now....</p><p> </p><p> Tier 1: Angry Gilmore, Heihachiro Sakai, Hiroaki Nakasawa, Kinnoji Horri, Yasuhiko Taira, Yoshimi Mushashibo, </p><p> Tier 1.5: Hiroyasu Gakusha, Sensational Dragon, Tadiyuki Kikkawa (11), Yasunobu Masuno, </p><p> Tier 2: Buddy Garner, Funakoshi, Jack Marlowe (17), Koshiro Ino (15), Matthew Keith**, Raymond Diaz, Tadakuni Toshusai, TANK Fugunaga, </p><p> Tier 2.5: Atom Smasher, Atsumori Takemura*, Greg Gauge**, KC Glenn, Mabuchi Furusawa, Shooter Sean Deeley, SUKI, Takayuki 2000, Tatsuya Toshitala*, </p><p> Tier 3: Gonkura Kamioka*, Ieyoshi Shimakage*, Kansuke Konda, Kirk Jameson, Masaaki Okazaki (05), Nissho Yuasa, </p><p> Tier 3.5: BISON Yano, Blake Belushi, Brute Kikuchi*, Fujio Narahashi*, Hitomaro Suzuki, Kazunori Yamura*, Rick Stantz, </p><p> Untested: Bussho Makiguchi, Chojiro Kitoaji, Edward Cornell, Eien Miyamoto, Jonathan Faust, Kelly Martin, Kiminobu Kuroki, Lance Martin, Leigh Burton, Leo Price, Logan Wolfsbaine, Namboku Makuda, Simon Flemmingway, Toju Munkata**, Tommy Cornell, Toshiharu Hyobanshi, Viktor Beskov, </p><p> Young Lions: Del Simard, Washi Kawakami, </p><p> </p><p> Tier 1: Elemental III**, KC Glenn*, Marihito Masuko, Sensational Dragon, Velocidad, </p><p> Tier 1.5: Masa Kurata**, Razan Okamoto**, Reaver, Truth Elemental, Tsuneyo Yanagimoto**, </p><p> Tier 2: Americana Uno, Chess King, Hyosuke Kokan, Red Panther, Roderick Remus*, Simon Flemmingway, </p><p> Tier 2.5: American Optimus, Edd Stone, Kamikaze**, Kansuke Konda, Mikey James, Musashi*, </p><p> Tier 3: Hijo Del Relampago*, Motoyuki Miyake*, </p><p> Tier 3.5: Pretty Okakura**, Stealth Z**, Totoya Munakata, </p><p> Untested: Americana Dos*, Angel De Mexico, Crimson Ghost*, KAZ, La Estrella*, Marvel Malloy*, Ricky Storm, Sifu, Storm Spillane, </p><p> Young Lions: Silver Shark II, Tomonaga*, Yunokawa*, </p><p> </p><p> A single * denotes a hot prospect, a ** denotes a next big things and if someone has a number in brackets after their name, that's the year they started their Time Decline.</p><p> </p><p> These are just the active roster members, I have a copy with inactive people in a spare sheet. My champions will generally be in the top two tiers and successes and failures in tournaments wills ee people rise or fall. Anyone listed as "Untested" hasn't had many singles matches and I will generally try to get them some more matches to give them a rough rank. Mabuchi Furusawa (3 ins from 5) earned his GCG title shot by doing better than Fujio Narahashi (2 wins) and Hitomaro Suzuki (1 win) in their recent trial series. The tour of the upcoming Kitozon Cup will also see me try to get as many of the other Untested level guys enough matches to get them a proper rank too. American Optimus has had a sharp fall from grace lately... he lost his qualifying match for the Best Of Super Juniors (to Motoyuki Miyake, winner of the 2017 Young Lion Cup) and dropped from 1.5 to 2.5 as a result.</p><p> </p><p> So between these tiers, various tournaments and my list of logical challengers I can usually put together a rough PPV card with a little forward planning. Then I simply book a bunch of shows leading to that and see what other ideas I like the sound of and add those. Maybe it's a stable rivalry, maybe some new people are making an impact, maybe PGHW guys are kicking up a fuss... whatever I fancy, it happens and I have fun with it.</p><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="Jomosensual" data-cite="Jomosensual" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="41174" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>I would also love to see the tournament template. I've wanted to do both of those for a while now and plan on doing them once I get my network to be more extensive</div></blockquote><p> </p><p> The big advice I would give is to plan ahead. Not so that everything is fixed, but enough so that you have an idea of where you want things to end, which then lets you choose how you get there. For the round robins I tend to pick a winner ahead of time and usually I don't put them in the same block as whoever they would challenge as a result. This helps to avoid repeat booking penalties, gives you direction and keeps things fresh. My roster has quite a lot of turnover, mostly due to the various ageing stars I've been fading out but also because of the vast amount of talent I have locked up in development now too. But even so, there are some people who are simply better than others and some characters you lke more than others.</p><p> </p><p> MYSTIC Dragon/Truth Elemental's journey has been my favourite one, borrowing heavily from Tetsuya Naito and mixing it with some BHOTWG goodness. While considered one of the elite juniors at the start I undermined his status by having Sensational Dragon constantly saying he wasn't good enough, which kept being true as MYSTIC kept losing at important times. That led to a loss on a grand stage after he'd put his reputation on the line all while other contenders seemed to pass him and do what he simply couldn't I sent him to my Mexican child company on for a pretend excursion where he reinvented himself... his name is a combination of the saying "an element of truth" and "the truth hurts", and when he wins over Sensational Dragon and Elemental III at Night of the Burning Hammer he's going to rip everyone with a promo where he talks about being the original Elemental's child, the true heir of the Elemental name and someone who was spurned by peers, fans and BHOTWG alike as he wasn't even trained in the Hinote Dojo (BHOTWG's dojo), wasn't allowed to continue his own father's legacy which was given to some stranger instead and had to forge his own way and STILL made it to the top (Junior champion) only for it to not be good enough (never win the BOSJ)... if only he had been given everything that others had been given... how much greater could he be... </p><p> </p><p> So yeah, I've had that promo in my head throughout this game and now he's got a stable behind him, a new attitude and a huge win over 2 stars (well, he will in a few game days). He's might be my favourite character of all, and he'll be even better when I bring in Samael The Accuser to be the EVIL of this group. <img alt=":D" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="John Lions" data-cite="John Lions" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="41174" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>This was a fantastic read Derek. I have never been able to get into any of the Japanese promotions but it's always nice to read someone who clearly put a lot of love and brainpower into a save.<p> </p><p> I saw you have the Melbourne Blondes, and Kian Owens in development. Any other Aussies you have picked up, with any level of success on the main roster?</p><p> </p><p> Also, I'm excited to see how James Diaz does for you. He came across the pond for me in my Regional Aussie company, and, despite not being a great "fit" product wise, has been absolutely phenomenal for me.</p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> I've got a bunch of talent in my new Aussie child company, so we'll see who manages to develop well from there. I have a locker room full of locker room leaders so if Reggie Tate turns out to be good then he might get a shot and for once he might not turn out to be a complete douchenozzle for me. Blaze Maximum is also there too, I love his render. And there are always a few people in RAW worth keeping an eye on just in case, though most of their largest wrestlers are on time decline so won't be becoming my Bad Luck Fale any time if I were going to fill in that spot. <img alt=":p" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="Yokai" data-cite="Yokai" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="41174" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>Any tips for pulling better match ratings with BHOTWG or puro feds in general? I enjoy booking them but it’s a little frustrating when big main events like Horri v. Kikkawa seem capped at a B- or B rating. Not sure what I’m doing wrong.</div></blockquote><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="Yokai" data-cite="Yokai" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="41174" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>Nothing that stands out. I’ve played GCG as well and just found it weird that the match grade cap I hit with the top starting guys in GCG seems to be the same as what I’m able to hit with BHOTWG.</div></blockquote><p> </p><p> If you look at my early time with BHOTWG in this save you'll see that I struggled with them for a while too. Even using the CV16X as a base, there is a general lack of popularity, momentum and psychology among the BHOTWG heavyweights that will make it hard to get past B grades unless there is something else helping. Black Magic's tag experience certainly helps a bit and you have Kikkawa, Hoshino and Nakasawa with the psychology to carry but BHOTWG suffers from having a lot of guys who are good, but few that are great. Which was my original inspiration for "The Aceless Era" as there was no-one on the roster who could really stand out enough to be a figurehead even if I wanted to replace him.</p><p> </p><p> Meanwhile the top GCG guys are at a very similar level to the top BHOTWG heavyweights to begin with too, so getting similar grades from them sounds about right. They also have the benefit of several of them having tag experience together too which can really help out. I found it heartbreaking to watch some of my favourites from old play throughs having just one great match a month because GCG were silly enough to not have a TV deal while having people locked down to written contracts... it is what killed them really, and why I bought them out.</p><p> </p><p> But back to the original question... get the best staff you can, build up the momentum of your top guys with wins so that whoever is in your main event has a lot of that... those wins should be generating popularity and if at least one guy has great psychology and you can give the match 20 minutes or more then you should be able to get the best from them. BHOTWG has a limited pool of guys for that at the start, though they do have some great options in the Junior division too with Sensational Dragon in particular being a star there. Other companies also have some great talent just waiting to be poached, and as the biggest fish in that pond you don't need to feel bad about stealing the non-loyal workers. Particularly if they have the psychology, which can soon be spread around through multiman matches,</p><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="Hashasheen" data-cite="Hashasheen" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="41174" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>Impressive stuff, Derek. I wonder what I'll do if they debut in my game. I might have to go to war with them and that sounds like it would be super awkward for all of us... I guess I could change their name or something... maybe make them PGHW USA <img alt="" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/eek.png.0e09df00fa222c85760b9bc1700b5405.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> Anyways, I hope this helps. Any more questions, keep firing them my way and I'll keep posting these responses in both threads since I know we don't check everything religiously like I do. <img alt=":)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p>

<p>In the Cverse I've only ever really run TCW, CGC or MAW but I decided to have a change of pace and book NOTBPW. Got to say it's been one of the more entertaining starts to a game I've run. I've kept to the pure wrestling aspect of it but added a few more hints of sports entertainment in the story telling. I've just finished the 2016 Super Slam and am starting the build to Glory.</p><p> </p><p>

Steve DeColt won his fourth Canadian Championship in February from Tim Westybrook, as I didn't see Westybrook as someone I could run with long-term while I build up my next generation of main eventers. At Super Slam DeColt defended the title in a great match against Duane Stone, but the real story came afterwards when Ricky DeColt made a shocking NOTBPW debut to square up to his brother. Ricky is tired of watching his brother's heinous actions and has come to NOTBPW to prove that not only is Steve not the best wrestler in the world, he's not even the best DeColt. That match will have to wait though as Mighty Cavanagh is the next challenger having won the Super Slam battle royal, a 20-man timed battle royal where elimination occurs through pinfall or submission.</p><p> </p><p>

The Sean McFly and Johnny Bloodstone rivalry has taken some twists and turns. Dan Stone Jr, who returned as the new general manager, thought the two would make better allies and enemies and forced them to team together. They've had success so far, but there's always been tension between them as they try to one-up each other. At Super Slam they went one-on-one, with the loser entering the battle royal #1. They ended up going to a 30-minute draw and had to enter the Super Slam at #1 and #2. Both made it to the final four where McFly rolled Bloodstone up to eliminate him. The two will challenge for the NOTBPW Tag Team Championship against The Aces at Glory, which will be the beginning of the end of their team.</p><p> </p><p>

I've put a focus on the women's division with Amber Allen winning the Women's Championship from Brooke Tyler in March. She'll defend against Tyler and Kristabel Plum at Glory with the ultimate aim being for Lauren Easter to take the title down the line. Allen, Tyler and Easter are currently heading up the division but I've got big plans for Talia Quinzel down the line too.</p><p> </p><p>

Ross Henry debuted back in February and has made a point of disparaging the Stone Family and NOTBPW every chance he's got and declaring himself bigger than the company, drawing the ire of Jeremy Stone in the process. He's beat Harrison Hash with the help of his new bodyguard Primus Allen and was meant to beat Marc DuBois only for DuBois to get himself sent to rehab. Henry has used that as a point of why NOTBPW is failing, 'hiring drug addicts instead of pushing real stars like himself', and it'll all conclude with a match between Henry and a one-off in-ring return for Jeremy at Mid-Summer Madness.</p><p> </p><p>

Right now I've got quite the ageing main event scene but I've got big plans for the likes of Cameron Vessey, Jared Johnson, Mark Griffin and Erik Strong so I'm slowly building them up until they cane take their spot in the world title picture, which has given me plenty of reason to keep running this game long-term.</p>

<p>A few months ago I started a New Japan save of January 2001. It started out badly but it continued to get better and better. Here's the story of the save.</p><p> </p><p>

I kept Wrestling World 2001 the exact same, with Kensuke Sasaki beating Toshiaki Kawada in the main event for the vacant IWGP title. The show didn't go too well. Soon after I ditched NJPW World of Wrestling in favor of touring, and not long after WCW cut a bunch of guys. In January 2001 saves, WCW always cuts a bunch of guys at the beginning, and some of the people I picked up included Lance Storm, Goldust, Chris Kanyon and Billy Kidman. I also started a dev territory for people I wanted and had nothing for, Young Lions I had nothing for and others cut from WCW. Young Lion Wrestling Paradise's first few members included Tomoaki Honma, Shinya Makabe, Hiroshi Tanahashi, Katsuyori Shibata, Mr. Gannosuke, Sean O'Haire, Kenzo Suzuki, Shane Helms, Yoshihiro Tajiri and the Jung Dragons. Also early on in the save, ECW died out. I bought out the contracts of Rob Van Dam, Rhino, Justin Credible, Tommy Dreamer and Paul Heyman. Rhino actually left due to his godawful exclusive PPA contract and went to Zero One where he won the NWA title before I resigned him. </p><p> </p><p>

My first real success was TenKoji. At Wrestling World 2001, I had no match above 78. TenKoji gave me the save's first 80+ in a tag match against Tatsumi Fujinami and Riki Choshu, and later it's first 90+ against Keiji Mutoh and Toshiaki Kawada. They were tag champs, and they were doing better than Sasaki. Naturally this meant big things for them. The Best of the Super Juniors 2001 tournament showed off these new gaijin juniors I had signed very well. I ran the 2001 BOSJ in the old format, where the two top scorers of the blocks would fight in a tourney style. The second spot of the B block was a four way tie between Gedo, Billy Kidman, Lance Storm and Tiger Mask, and I held a rare fatal four way to see who would win that spot. Surprisingly it was Lance Storm who would win, and he would also win the BOSJ as a whole, beating Jushin Liger in the finals and Minoru Tanaka for the Junior title at the first ever Dominion. </p><p> </p><p>

The G1 climax was a major turning point for the entirety of the main event scene in New Japan. Tenzan would win his block and Kojima would get second in his to Mutoh. I ran this tourney like a normal G1, however, so the finals would be Keiji Mutoh vs Hiroyoshi Tenzan. Two shows before the G1 final, Satoshi Kojima challenged Kensuke Sasaki for the IWGP championship. However, both members of TenKoji would lose serious momentum when they lost their tag team titles in an upset to the team of Goldust and Chris Kanyon. When this took place, the two gaijin were getting average ratings, nothing spectacular, but after this they'd fill the massive shoes left by TenKoji. At the G1 climax, Tenzan would beat Mutoh and Satoshi Kojima would win the IWGP championship. After the match, TenKoji went to celebrate when Kojima ruined the whole thing by beating up Tenzan. Jushin Liger, Shinya Hashimoto and Scott Norton would join in on the beatdown, resulting in the formation of a new stable: Control Terrorism Unit.</p><p> </p><p>

Sure, the only similarity with this CTU and the actual CTU was that they had heel Jushin. But CTU is a pretty badass name, don't you think? After this match, Kojima would handpick Katsuyori Shibata out of YLWP and would become his tag team partner in the World Tag League. The World Tag League was better than the G1 in terms of in ring skill. It also showed me another future IWGP champion: Taiyo Kea. The highest match I had ever gotten at that point was in this tourney, Keiji Mutoh and Taiyo Kea vs Jushin Liger and Shinya Hashimoto got a 98, and I believed it was mostly because of Liger and Hashimoto. But after comparing the ratings between Mutoh/Kea's matches and Liger/Hashimoto's matches, it became clear who was the better team. The World Tag League finals were Mutoh and Kea vs Kojima and Shibata, and most likely because of Kojima and Shibata's chemistry, this match was actually better than Liger and Hashimoto's match and it got a 99. Kojima and Shibata would win, which would cause a dilemma between who would challenge Goldust and Kanyon at the newly renamed Wrestle Kingdom? Shibata announced he had found someone to fight with instead of Kojima, who would it be?</p><p> </p><p>

Around this point, I introduced the IWGP Six Man Tag Team Championships. The first champions were crowned in a tournament, the finals of which were Liger, Hashimoto and Norton vs Mutoh, Kea and Don Frye. CTU would win the match and the titles. Wrestle Kingdom was just around the corner with a banger of a main event and undercard. Notable matches included the first ever New Japan Rumble where Ric Flair would enter the rumble out of nowhere to win by low blowing Hiroshi Tanahashi and then announcing he would be working full time in Japan, Rob Van Dam beating Lance Storm for the Junior Heavyweight title (got a 92), Shibata's mystery man being Minoru Suzuki and winning the titles from Kanyon and Goldust (despite bad chemistry from the two MMA fighters it would get a 91), AM AJPW vs NOAH match where Genichiro Tenryu and Kawada got their revenge on the filthy traitors that were Kenta Kobashi and Jun Akiyama (got a 92, was supposed to be Misawa instead of Akiyama but he got injured two days before the show) and Taiyo Kea trying to prove himself as equal to mentor Keiji Mutoh. While he didn't succeed in winning, the match was a 94 and stole the show. Now with all these great matches, you'd think Tenzan vs Kojima would get a 90, right?</p><p> </p><p>

82.</p><p> </p><p>

The main event of Wrestle Kingdom that had been hyped for months between two best friends got an 82. </p><p> </p><p>

And that's why Wrestle Kingdom only got an 85. Maybe the Tenzan experiment wasn't going to work? </p><p> </p><p>

Oh, I almost forgot about someone. With pushing guys like Tenzan and Kojima came with some sacrifices, as Yuji Nagata was almost completely forgotten. He wasn't even booked at Wrestle Kingdom due to an MMA fight, at least he would win that. Nagata needed some momentum. I would give him some momentum. After Wrestle Kingdom I introduced the IWGP Intercontinental championship, and began a sixteen man tournament for it. The finals would be Kojima vs Flair, which would see Kojima winning and would get a 92. Most matches in the tourney would be better than Tenzan's defenses, but out of nowhere him and Sasaki pulled a 99 at Wrestling Dontaku. Sasaki's match quality had been increasing dramatically so I blame it on him. The rematch at Dominion would have Sasaki win the belt from him, and although it would only get an 88 it was still a very good match. </p><p> </p><p>

Meanwhile, things had been weird in CTU. Hashimoto began to conflict with Kojima which resulted in an Intercontinental title match which Kojima would retain in. Hashimoto was a freelancer and freelancers hate me, so he left afterwards. Kojima would also recruit Shinya Makabe, who would win the Junior tag titles with Liger. Another interesting development would be at Dominion 2002, where there was a YLWP invitational six man, Yutaka Yoshie, Super Crazy and Yoshihiro Tajiri vs Sean O'Haire, Shane Helms and James Gibson. Out of nowhere, Shibata and Suzuki would ruin the match and beat up everyone except for Sean O'Haire, who they would recruit to CTU. In an Intercontinental title defense against Taiyo Kea, Kojima would get a six month neck injury, and while he wasn't out, he was heavily restricted. He'd drop the title to the returning Yuji Nagata not long afterwards. Shibata would take the reigns of CTU for the six months he was gone, and while he and Suzuki would drop the tag titles back to Goldust and Kanyon, he'd still do a good job. In kayfabe, he'd organize a US show called CTUSA, which would feature the return of Kojima facing Sasaki. </p><p> </p><p>

Kojima would lose and CTU would beat him up, as he was the only member of the team to not win that night. But coming in for the save, bah gawd, it's Tenzan! TenKoji is back! Shibata would go to do an MMA match afterwards, and although the would miss Wrestle Kingdom 2, I think this is beneficial for storyline. Meanwhile, around the rest of New Japan, Minoru Tanaka would win the IWGP Junior title again, and youngster Ricky Marvin would have an incredibly fast rise amongst the juniors, beating Tiger Mask, RVD, and Storm among others. Billy Kidman and Hiroshi Tanahashi would also gain a lot of stock in kayfabe, with Kidman winning the block that didn't have Tanaka in it and Tanahashi beating Kojima and Ric Flair in the G1 Climax. Speaking of the G1 climax, Nagata would go undefeated and beat Mutoh in the finals. Mutoh is pissed at this, and despite Kea's attempts at calming him down, they haven't worked. Mutoh just wants to be the best. Anyway, TenKoji and Goldust/Kanyon would win their respective blocks in the World Tag League and the filthy gaijin would put their titles on the line in the finals, which TenKoji would win. Jushin Liger and Shinya Makabe decided to go crazy and cash in their Junior Heavyweight tag titles to face TenKoji at WK2. <p>So we finished the Ozeki Summit for 2016 in my current T-Verse save with UPJ.</p><p> </p><p>

Ryotaro Naruto won Block A defeating the likes of Oda Yamawaki and Waotaka Eda on his way to reaching the final. Juro Deguchi was the leader of Block B, turning back the clock with some show-stealing performances in a group involving the likes of Erik Van Rijn & Kintaro Kinjo. So Naruto and Deguchi met in the final in a repeat of the 2009 final. This time with the added prize of becoming the inaugural Intercontinental Champion.</p><p>

Much like the 2009 final, Deguchi won the match to become the IC Champ and a 3 time Ozeki Summit winner He's now tied with Kenta Sonada as the winningest Ozeki Summit competitors in UPJ history.</p><p> </p><p>

Oda Yamawaki has asked for his release so he's being jobbed out before he goes. The future Ace for the company and he wants away. We'll humble him. He was injured via a botch in early January and missed 6 weeks. He came back angry and his match performances weren't as good as before the injury. Half-assing it. I made him take a loss to Ryotaro Naruto during the tournament, he was very unhappy about it but did it anyway. Ended up more pissed off. </p><p>

Eventually, he asks for release so he's putting over everyone on his way out. Especially Jack Jericho (Jack America) and King Fergus (Fergus Storm), the latest members of the RENEGADES stable, headed by EVR. The stable has had an overhaul of it's crew. EVR cuts a promo saying certain members just can't cut it and he beats them down, with the help of his new bandmates. So the new look RENEGADES stable is;-</p><p>

Aydan Farrell, Bruiser Cassidy, Erik Van Rijn, Graham McKenzie, Jack Jericho, King Fergus and Kris Phoenix.</p><p> </p><p>

Top 2 matches of the year so far have both been singles with Kintaro Kinjo & Juro Deguchi. 1 win apiece. Matches got a 95/A and 96A* ratings, respectively.</p><p> </p><p>

Up next is the Junior Mountain Cup. Will work in a similar fashion to the Ozeki Summit (G1) with 2 separate blocks of competitors. The blocks are as follows:-</p><p> </p><p>

<strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Block A:</span></strong> Akito Nakada, Tiger Singh, Kris Phoenix, Graham MacKenzie, Furosuto, Jim Fujiwara, Haruko Yamada, Kozue, Thunder Iesada & Dragon Prince</p><p> </p><p>

<strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Block B:</span></strong> King Fergus, Aydan Farrell, Junichi Matsuo, Léon De Oro, Nakano Yuki, Mr Yamashita, Shingo Hashi, Ryuko Mishamoto, Super Kenshi & Richie Santana Jr.</p><p> </p><p>

This has all been brought on by a new found admiration for NJPW. Never really watched it before but WWE has bored me to tears and wanted something new. Figured I'd try something different for TEW too. Apologies for the lengthy post.</p>

<p>This is from a while back: Supreme Challenge 36 and the most disappointing TEW experience I've ever had.</p><p> </p><p>

Semi-main between Remo, Wolf Hawkins and Joey Morgan gets an out of the blue 96, the highest rating I've had up to that point. Then comes the ME. Jack Bruce vs heel Rocky Golden in a Once In A Lifetime. Entrances are 90 rated. When the match comes...</p><p> </p><p>

...they pull a 78.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

After the show, I find out that the participants in the biggest match I've ever booked have awful chemistry, and that Jack Bruce is on painkillers from a broken arm a few months prior as well as being a decade into time decline. He gets dropped as figurehead, and I think that's the last big match he'll ever have.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

Cut to January '17. Joey and Wolf have continued feuding, and Joey has <em>finally</em> realised his dream and become champion. They're pulling 99s everywhere, and I'm all set to carry the SWF into the future with Morgan at the helm.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

Then he tears his meniscus and is out for 6-7 months after a successful surgery without even defending the belt.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

I almost want to laugh.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

(Following this, Wolf got my first ever 100 rated match and Joey is set to beat Tommy Cornell in the final of a 64-man Rip Chord Invitational, so the joke's on all of you.)</p>

<p>So after a bit of a break and a few stop/start games, I'm finally playing something that I'm really hooked on again.</p><p> </p><p>

I revisted my idea of Toyota re-opening AJW in 2018 again. I don't really have the time to post a diary anymore so I think I'll update here.</p><p> </p><p>

Wanted to start with a bang so started immediately with the Grand Prix. Meiko Satomura won Block A with Ayako Hamada coming in second. While Mayu Iwatani won Block B and Konami finished runner up, but unfortunately she got injured so Hana Kimura took her spot in the finals as she finished third.</p><p> </p><p>

After beating Hamada, Satomura beat Iwatani in the final to win both the Grand Prix and the vacant WWWA Championship.</p><p> </p><p>

In sadder but unsurprising news, Aja Kong decided to retire so I felt it only right that we mark it with a retirement show, since she is one of the greatest ever. All the money went to her (I just used the editor to take away any money we made) and the event was a lot of fun to put together. Kyoko Inoue, Bull Nakano and Manami Toyota all spoke about their former rival between the undercard matches.</p><p> </p><p>

In the main event Kong took on long time rival Meiko Satomura one last time and in true retirement match fashion, Kong went out on her back putting over the champ.</p><p> </p><p>

The show closed with her addressing the fans to signify the end of a thirty + year in ring career.</p>

<p>Using handyeric3’s Bust Up mod where WWE is broken up into 4 territory promotions (WWE, WCW, ECW and AWA). I tweaked the rosters a little and decided to use WCW. Top 5 wrestlers for each promotion are: </p><p> </p><p>

AWA - Angle, Balor, Owens, Orton and Nakamura</p><p>

ECW - Lesnar, Bray, Braun, Ambrose and Rusev</p><p>

WCW - Rollins, Bryan, Styles, Sheamus and The Miz</p><p>

WWE - Cena, Roman, Big Show, Jinder and Big E</p><p> </p><p>

ROH, Impact and NJPW rosters haven’t really been touched except me snagging Omega and The Bucks for my WCW. No promotion is higher than cult right so should be interesting (if I can finally stick with a game).</p>

<p>Follow up post from yesterday, because I'm really hooked on this AJW 2018 save.</p><p> </p><p>

Decided to host my first Tag League The Best almost straight after the Grand Prix because I want to get all my champions in place before I figure out exactly how I want to run the yearly schedule.</p><p> </p><p>

Wanted to use this to build up three new stars, so since Meiko is by far my best worker I decided to pair her with Mika Iwata and have them two absolutely dominate Block A before losing against the team of Konami and Syuri in the final of the tournament. Mika is now super over just from working with Meiko for two months and Konami and Syuri got a huge boost for winning it.</p><p> </p><p>

Think the next title I'm going to introduce is some sort of international championship for the gaijin's I have. None are very far up the card but when I want to expand internationally they will come in handy. </p><p> </p><p>

I'm having an absolute blast regardless!</p>

<p>Hulkamania Extreme Edition II, October 1995.</p><p> </p><p>

I have suspended Razor Ramon after he boasted that he was a money maker in WWF, i have suspended him for 30 days, also i made him lost to Goldust whom he was in a feud (Ramon was teaming with the 1-2-3 Kid while Goldust had Hunter Hearst Helmsley by his side). Before In Your House in September, he, along with Diesel and Hunter picked on Goldust and they got fined. To punish Diesel further, i took him off as the figurehead's company and i made him loss the WWF World Heavyweight Title to Jake Roberts, also, in the match between Ramon & Kid vs. Goldust and Hemsley, Goldust took the win instead of Helmsley and Razor took the loss.</p><p> </p><p>

I'm playing as the head booker and my user character is Bill Behrens.</p>

<p>I managed to steal Jack Bruce away from SWF, though he would only agree to work matches at Events. But I did set his intended role to "Passing the Torch" which is good, since he's 46 and in time decline.</p><p> </p><p>

His first match was in a losing effort against KC Glenn, used the keep strong note for Bruce, which had him go from 100 to 99 popularity, while KC Glenn jumped between 3-9 points in popularity throughout Canada where my promotion is located, cementing his auto push into the Main Event. </p><p> </p><p>

I know I could have Bruce constantly lose to people and kept strong every time, but that's not realistic, eventually the crowd wouldn't care. I think I'm going to have him win more often than lose, just so it's an actual big deal when he loses. But if there is someone with great in-ring skills and/or SQ I want in the Main Event quickly, the last bit of their push would be to beat Bruce. </p><p> </p><p>

In sad news, Sam Keith, who I was using as a Road Agent, passed away in Feb 2019. I bought out MAW way back when, so I think I'm going to revive the Sam Keith Classic, and since MAW was kind of like a training ground for the younger guys on the indys, I think I will make it a tournament, where every team is someone from the main roster "mentoring" someone from developmental, so it's not just a bunch of Main Eventers in a National company battling it out, lol</p>

<p>I just randomly stumbled into a pretty good concept for my last PPV: the Call of the Void match.</p><p> </p><p>

Basically it's a spin on the Prisonner's dilemma, so the Evolve title is vacant, the team of Pete Dunne and Jay White are my top 2 superstars, they're the tag team champs and have been for 10 months, and they're in a bit of a feud with the GM Chris Jericho (I book him in angles giving them tough matches etc) and White was signed by New Japan so he's on his way out. So Jericho put them in what I called a Call of the Void match to put a bit of a spark between them, where they can either leave the ring (which I had as a Countout) and be stripped of the tag title, or go for broke and try to beat the other, and the winner would be crowned the new Evolve champion, and the loser would be fired (which wink wink would be my kayfabe way of writing off White).</p>

<p>Playing 1996 Mod as WCW as of April 1, 1996: </p><p> </p><p>

<strong>World Heavyweight Champion: The Giant</strong></p><p> </p><p>

After months of trying, Hogan finally was able to defeat Ric Flair at SuperBrawl '96. However, the next night on Nitro, Hogan had to defend against the Giant, as per the contact set up by Nick Bokwinkle. Hogan failed, and The Giant was able to win the title on live TV. <img alt="" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/eek.png.0e09df00fa222c85760b9bc1700b5405.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>United States Champion: Jeff Jarret</strong></p><p> </p><p>

After skipping out on the WWF, Jarret arrived in WCW and promptly joined the 4 Horsemen to solidify the group. Jarrett defeated Big Rig Ray Traylor and DDP at SuperBrawl to take the title back to the Horsemen. </p><p>

</p><p><strong>

World Tag Team: The Steiner Brothers</strong></p><p> </p><p>

The tag titles have shot around a bit between the Steiners and Harlem Heat. But a 2 out of 3 falls match was set up at SuperBrawl, and after a grueling 30 minute affair, the Steiners took home the gold. </p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Cruiser-X: Dean Malenko</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Malenko defeated Rey Mysterio at SuperBrawl in a "match of the night" candidate fight. Malenko continues to hold down the Cruiser-X division (well, for now, while Eddy is in rehab). </p><p>

</p><p><strong>

World Heritage (formerly the TV title): Lord Steven Regal</strong></p><p><strong>

</strong></p><p>

Lord Steven Regal defeated Johnny B Badd at Road to Revolution in February and acquired the services of "Lady Kimberly" and at SuperBrawl he defeated Raven to retain the title over the flock (because Raven can't stop getting high. The rest of the flock is Edge and Christian, and they're shooting off onto their comedy tag team, as they're getting over like rover).</p><p> </p><p>

At this point in 1996, Hall and Nash have both come up for contracts, and have been stolen by WCW. The other item is that The Undertaker also came up for a contract, and was taken by WCW. Rumors are that he'll debut as Mark Callous in more of a "Lone Wolf" role rather than a supernatural Undertaker. the phrase "Deadman, Inc." has been filed for trademark by WCW.</p><p> </p><p>

WCW at this time seems to have a major drug problem as Brian Pillman, Eddy Guerrero, Steve Corino and Raven are notables that have been sent to rehab. WCW has been working closely with Pillman though, they want to push him HEAVILY when he returns. He just has to keep his head on his shoulders. (For real, I bumped him to light heavyweight and his SQ went to 95, so he basically has the world has his doorstep when he comes back.)</p><p> </p><p>

WCW also announced THREE major tournaments for the coming year. The first being held over 2 days in April and into May will be the King of the World tournament. Potentially with title opportunities at Starrcade?</p><p> </p><p>

In August, WCW will honor the legend Dusty Rhodes with the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic. Then in November heading into Starrcade, WCW will hold the Art of War within the confides of a steal cage to determine who will face the WCW champion at SuperBrawl 1997.</p><p> </p><p>

This has turned into a fun little save that I can hopefully stick with for a little while.</p>
