If you go with the time off approach, do it within a storyline (if possible).

e.g. Rey Mysterio is walking backstage and gets attacked, out for 30 days. You can disclose who attacked him, or if you're building up a big debut, just reveal it then.

'Team Canada' in USPW sounds very right to me. If it's an invasion storyline: The Northern/Maple Leaf Invasion?

It's January 2017 & I've signed myself into a booking problem as loads of external contracts came up within a few weeks of each other and I now have Jay Chord, Matthew Keith, Shooter Sean Deeley & Wolf Hawkins all joining USPW within 2 weeks of each other.

I had initially planned a Generational stable consisting of Chord, Keith, Casey Valentine, Cameron Vessey (recently joined), Robin DaLay (in development), Greg Gauge & possibly George Wolfe (can each be signed at any time). This stable would be led by Alicia Strong and be her attempt at taking back what is rightfully hers, USPW itself. Alternatively the 4 new signings can debut together as an NwO type stable before expanding but I like the Alicia Strong angle.

So assuming I go with the as yet unnamed Generational Stable I have nothing planned for Hawkins or Deeley? A little background info; Marat Khoklov is current World Champion but he'll be losing to a soon-to-be-heel Enygma in a month. I'm keeping Nicky Champion away from the belt until Independence Day Slam, he's been helping Running Wolf and just joined up with The Force & Ross Henry to fight MoneyClub (Rich Money, Casey Valentine & Julius Moor). Once Valentine reunites with Vessey this stable either needs new members or will end. Other main eventers are Steve Frehley (heel), James Justice & Sean McFly (both face).

Any ideas and stable name suggestions would be much appreciated.

I'm totally stumped on this one. Help?

If this were my stable, I'd be playing to the geographic issue inherent in USPW and call this stable Northern Aggression. As is "The War Of". Otherwise known to those of us in the rest of the U.S. as The Civil War. Would really gin up the Southern pride of USPW's base audience and give you some immediate cheap heat to build on.

I'm playing CVerse97 and signed a rookie Adam Matravers. Pretty soon he got into a tag team with a randomly generater wrestler under the name of Robert Howard due to tag chemistry. RH is on the heavyweight side, used to be a Psychopath but changed to Brawler. I got him working under a Pitbull gimmick (maybe because of the chain in his portrait?)

Matravers does the flying, Howard brings the fisticuffs. They're both faces and simply billed as "Matravers&Howard' as I can't come up with anything better. Any ideas for a tag name?

I'm into 2020 in my CZCW save. I've hit a roadblock creativly.

How do I advance on what I have. I seemed to have lost direction.

CZCW has grown tremendously. At cult .

I have two brands and no TV show. I have a small event per brand each month to set up to the PPV.

I had signed guys like Tommy Cornell, KC glen, new wave, shooter shaun daley, kirk jameson, nelson callum, casey valentine, jay chord etc

The roster is vastly different that at the start, I still have guys like Fox Mask, Cali Love machine.

.....................

My User is owner and multi time champion. first Main story arc was evil owner v the faces, then they joined togetheer in the second story arc to stop the TCW invasion. After that my owner turned evil again in the Third story arc, but more blingy and flashy, got the title Lost it again with Cali getting his second World title. End of Third Arc.

What should I do for Arc 4? The evil owner stuff is kinda done for me. Only guys I kept from the TCW invasion were Tommy Cornell, Jay Chord and the New Wave.

End of 2019 I set up my second brand in a way to get back to the roots of what the Coastal Zone is all about. The second brand is all about high flying masked wresters and a place for womens wrestling.

The second brand is headlined by guys like El Mitico Jr, Fox Mask, Masked Cougar and temperately by Black Cougar (Masked Jay Chord). Using Chord, Masked Cougar and Fox Mask to try and put over a batch of new lightweight masked guys that I can slot into the main Brand to replace the non traditional CZCW guys like Tommy Cornell, New wave that are ageing and not really a long term fit.

I think I'd feel better about having a few guys that don't fit the fold if I introduced some traditional CZCW guys to fill out the roster.

On my Second Brand guys like Mr Lucha III, Devious Doctor Fang, Amazing Fire Fly, La Estrella, El Hijo del Zonk will be the guys I'm looking to get over.

I am tempted however just to cut the entire brand, get rid of the women, have everyone on one brand and just have a TV show and perhaps a B show. Focus on getting my roster rounded out properly the traditional way.

There is no reason why I can't have bigger guys, bigger stars on the roster as long as I keep the feel for the place with a few highflying masked guys and a few highspot gimmick matches on the events.

While I am undecided, I have a plan to stop the evil Owner thing for my user. KC Glen came into the company attacking my user saying "HE, was coming to re balance power". The person Glen represents is a person that also has a stake in the company. The ending will be My user v the co owners guy KC glen for ownership of the company. Glen will win. Flash will lose ownership, and will be forced to earn his way back up the card. I can keep him out of the world title picture long term that way.

I'm not sure who the other guy will be. I could go down the route of being my users brother who got an equal share of the company or... that the co-owner bought up the rest of the half of the company from that various parties it was split to making him a 50/50 owner. New owner will be face and will be a background figure. Could even get Tommy out of the Main event full time by making him commissioner and having him be semi active.

............

Who would you cut?

I have a cluttered Uppermidcard that could do with some thinning out.

Jacob Jet - Highly skilled, he was meant to be fodder originally but I like him a lot, hit a ceiling for the moment too many main event guys currently. Finished an amazing best of 7 series with American elemental over the Extreme title.

American Elemental - in a masked highly talented guy, certainly got a future but hit a ceiling with the guys allready infront of him

Mainstream Hernandez - Had him about 6 months, always love this guy, has a future but he's lost in the pack

Mikey James - Just got back, CZCW original- have plans for him.

Fro sure - an underutilised talent i'be had since week 1, has the potential to be a top guy but in a roster full of talented guys he's stuck at the moment.

Ross Henry - was set to be star, the first star I had signed, got a big push, got the title but his performances couldn't grow with the growth of the company, went from Main eventer to upper midcard guy. not as talented in ring wise as half of the roster but too pop popular just to sack off. currently the group leader of my all black guy group... but could easily just be jobbed out and let go.

Swoop McCarthy- I have never had him long term in any other game on TEW. I finally have him but he's lost inthe shuffle. he's a bit too heavy to be a traditional CZCW guy and although his pop has grown steadily the last 7 months, he's not really been featured at the top of the card. Part of Ross Henrys group. His SQ is too good to let go.

Nelson Callum- He, Valentine and Jameson were let go by USPW at the same time, all no higher than midcard for them. So I signed them up with the idea of them forming a group. added in David Stone to take the falls. but they're all pretty samey, with samey characters. They are well below others in this list of guys I have a vested interest in or ideas of what to do with them and with a bloated roster it's a chore fitting them in. David Stone I have ideas for but at a young age and a lower carder he's got couple of years of paying dues.

Casey Valentine- See Nelson Callum

Jefferson Stardust - Signed him to either job out or untill his tag partner gets released so I can have their tag team. Not invested in him inthe slightest

Matt Hocking- H'es been with me since week 1 and a guy I pictured being top of the company by now, although he's held the Extreme title and had a couple of feuds he's not quite where I pictured he's be and don't have a clear picture of his character, except for solid hand in Uppermidcard. There's always space for that kinda guy I suppose. Now tagging with Spencer Spade as Shock and Awe, to keep Spencer busy untill his big push comes.

Kirk Jameson - See Nelson Callum

Motoyuki Miyake - Built him up from opener pop, great SQ and good in ring skill, pretty good match ratings and adds something different to booking, he's my strong style guy.

Spencer Spade. - Recently signed, He contract came up and he was being wasted in SWF in the midcard with no titles. So I figured i'd rescue him and see what I could do with him.A ready made star, keeping him busy with Matt Hocking in Tag division untill a slot opens up.

Rick Law: A great worker with great pop but a bad fit for the company, for me he's just here to put over a few of my guys before he leaves or perhaps becomes a bodyguard for someone.

(I've omitted tag teams as no matter what they'll be their to keep the division healthy.)

Two brands and a huge roster for a Cult company with no TV deal sounds like a lot to me, though I assume with popularity and a PPV deal you're making enough money to keep it all sustainable.

I too tend to hire all sorts of people and end up with similar problems, so I usually stop that by forcing me to only hire people who'll fit the mold and identity of the company. Sometimes that isn't enough so I add the stipulation of not hiring anyone I don't have creative inspiration for (so no hiring someone just because of stats).

Your description of CZCW's evolution pretty much writes itself from there. I'd run a company-wide angle where a loose alliance of bitter CZCW originals and young masked high flyers go against the rest, who they deem as invaders/inside agents that have diluted the very essence of the company. Women would probably side with the latter, but in your shoes I'd kill off the women's division entirely, allow intergender matches, scatter them on both sides of the fence and use the opportunity to cut down on female talent.

Think of it as a kind of civil war, kind of (but not quite) like the WWE vs WCW+ECW Invasion or a Raw vs Smackdown thing.

Top it all off with the feud of your owner character against Flash and KC Glenn over ownership, but don't just make it a fight over ownership, present it as it a clash of visions over what CZCW should be and what it should become going forward.

Also, one of the things I've learned with playing long term games is that getting attached to everyone on your roster in a "what if" sort of way leads to it just getting bloated and you run out of ideas. Remember in WWE one of the biggest things that can happen is a big return/redebut either from injury or from leaving for a while. One way to freshen things up I think would be to get rid of EVERYONE on that list you just made. When you thought of expendable, boring characters on your roster, those were the ones you came up with right now.

You don't have to fire them all, but (provided $ isn't an issue) you can send them on leave for varying amounts of time, work with your remaining roster for storylines, and have them redebut. They don't need a fresh gimmick or anything, but absence makes the heart grow fonder. Try shuffling your roster a bit more by sending the bulk of the top of your card on leave. Since CZCW starts with such a talented roster, and you've been running so many shows, it can probably feel like with a lot of your roster you have done everything with them and they have feuded with everyone else.

Yeah you definitely need to trim the fat. Signing guys the calibre of jefferson Stardust, Kirk Jameson and Nelson Callum to just be jobbers to the stars seems a sure fire way to end up stymied and with a bloated roster. Maybe ONE of those guys to pad the roster but signing that many talented "name" guys just to be warm bodies seems crazy to me

I think rotating out your roster using time off is one of the most underutilized tools people use in TEW, because it's hard not to get attached to everyone and want to min max their growth as wrestlers. Sending your big names away for 3-6 months and alternating who is in the main storylines and who is sitting out can really freshen up a game and keep you from getting burned out creatively.

I think I might have to start 'trimming the fat' too as WWE. I stopped the brand split in 2018 due to getting 'bored' I guess of it. But I have a plethora of talent that I really don't use, but either keep around because I like them IRL or they are a mentor to someone etc.

That's my main event scene, and I really do struggle to get them all on even a 3 hour Raw every week. I have no clue who I should get rid of though. Another thing I wanted to try, was actually having three brands and randomise who's on each brand, but not sure if I can keep it up each week like that.

I started a new TCW, which has a little bit of an issue of having a lot of older people in upper half of the roster, so as usual I wanted to bring in a younger stable of guys to try and push up the roster (at least the midcard level of popularity). It seems like I always do the same thing in every company and I'm sick of doing the typical Shield-invasion gimmick, or the blue-chipper/next-generation type thing.

The three I've hired are fairly usual hires: Kirk Jameson, Greg Gauge, Rudy Velasquez, with Haley Buck as their manager.

What kind of gimmicks/names could I do with the group that are a little off the beaten path? I planned on them being heel but that's pretty open at this point. I'm really just trying to do something fresh.

Maybe at some point the Elite takes offense at this JV team thinking they are fit to step on such accomplished toes and determine who's fit to wrestle. Maybe The Behemoths could throw them around and feel disrespected because the Jameson gang don't show the proper fear. And who knows, maybe as they get bigger, they start arguing what their standards should be and the infighting leads them to splinter and feud with each other. Could be a lot of material there if you approach it right.
