So, went up from $5 million to now about $15 million and we're in June or July 2016. So, probably shooting at Medium coverage for now. Nothing TOO fancy, but it matches SNS's current broadcaster (Arcadia); honestly, with the Pop Network and Arcadia's coverage, I haven't had many problems increasing pop. And "Jimmy" refers to Jimmy "Mainstream" Hernandez.

I did start up Saturday Night Showcase again, but as a B-show.
I see no reason in having 2 a-shows with a roster that small.
I have an A-show and a B-Show, and the only company that starts as National, and is now Cult, is USPW.

So I have no issues with not using two A-Shows. I have won the National Battles every single month, and is nowhere near Cult.

Does anyone have a bulletproof strategy on how to keep TCW at national? I would rather not sign Marat or change the product to Pop > Performance. I know investing in young talent is key, and moving to USA Sports 1 is a move that has its benefits. I've seen a ton of people who have had no difficulty keeping TCW afloat, while others struggle. I'm just curious to see what strategies are out there!

I think the most critical first move with TCW for me is cutting the Pop Network right at the start. I gamble on myself and my booking the right guys to get over. To that end, I max out Production Values right from the outset and sever my relationship with Pop (taking the financial hit) and my PPV deal. I resign with the best broadcasters I can get. The increase in coverage combined with strong booking of my high SQ stars (Golden, RDJ, Hawkins, Andrews, Peak) at the outset should help increase their overness for the first few months to hold strong in the National Battle. You don't have to be number 1...just can't be number 3. Once either SWF or USPW falls...it's time to double-down on Jay Chord and the accompanying next generation (I usually go big on Kirk Jameson) to take the spot of the aging RDJ, Bryan Vessey, etc.

Getting back into my save, at August 2016, and because of the way the contracts were generated, we've lost or are losing a crap ton of guys all right around the same time. Aaron Andrews, Sammy Bach, American Buffalo, RDJ, Mighty Mo, and Giant Tana are all among the casualties.

What's worse is very few of the contracts of top guys in SWF or USPW are coming up.

Still, not doing too badly. To demonstrate, SWF did cut Captain Atomic, I signed him, and with 60s pop across North America, he debuts at Opener status.

As you can probably tell, my development fed is for both women and men.

Now I have a dilemma... Jay Chord won the International title at Total Mayhem, and began a feud with Spencer Spade for the title. Now they are coming towards the end of the three-month feud, but I'm unsure as to wether give Spade the title or not. He is a midcarder, so no problems there, but I'm not sure I want to give him a title so early into his TCW career. Plus, I don't think Chord will job to Spade...

I have learned a very valuable lesson this TEW, having an incredibly long running game. I feel like for almost every single wrestler on my roster, their character development comes through the feuds they are in or the chase of a title. Having a title kind of narrows what you can do with them creatively, and I have had more than a few sessions of writer's block with regards to my champions more than anyone else.

Spencer Spade is probably the future of TCW if you can hold on to him. If you give him the title so quick, as a viewer, it comes off very, I don't know, TNA? Losing a feud for a title can help Spade develop character and depth so that he's not just the former "Supreme Star" but is his own man. This is all from an outsider point of view and I don't know much of the specifics of his debut after coming over from SWF but I think before you give him a title, you temper him a bit. Throw him in some feuds where he's not just chasing gold but he has to change and grow so that when he finally wins one it's as "TCW Star" Spencer Spade and not "Former SWF Star" Spencer Spade.

I'll have Spade come out on the losing end, and move him on to another feud... He has awesome chemistry with Bart Biggins as partners, so maybe a tag feud or something.

Yeah, it's unfortunate. But it's random, so I can't complain. (Doesn't make a lick of sense considering how long they've been together, but...)

Who's in your women's division?

As for me, lost Darryl Devine, which, not a huge loss, but man. Champagne Lover's SOTBPW contract comes up very soon, and I will go after him HARD.

its so annoying, it says they hv been together since 2007, and they hv been entertaining smh.

i kinda fu**ed up, as i kinda signed everyone, and i mean everyone to my dev, male or female (i hv 2 developmental companies, 1 for each gender) the main stars for my women are amber allen, brooke tyler, a regen with 83 brawling, lauren easter, lora washington, raven nightfall.

uspw and swf fell to cult, and its kinda ez. i hv had to edit kyle rhodes tho, to let me spend more money, and might have to make him give me more

I started my own women’s division after Alicia Strong was gonna be let go from USPW. That’s the most “why not?” decision I’ve made in a while. She’s gonna become the first champion winning a tournament over Jaime Quine in the finals.

So my women’s roster stands as:

Alicia Strong

Alina America (Was originally a manager for The New Wave beforehand so she’s over)

Christy Higgins

Danielle Sweetheart

Foxxy Larule

Fuyuko Higa (#1 NBT in the company at the moment)

Jaime Quine

Nadia Snow

Pinky Perez (also NBT)

Queen Amazon

I’m only about 2 months in with them on the roster but Alicia has been carrying everyone to B level matches in the tourney. When someone gets to her level of popularity we might be talking about legitimate PPV main events.

I'm already building towards Andrews vs Hawkins at Total Mayhem XXI, and I'm only in August... Andrews lost the world title to Bach at Total Mayhem XX, and now Andrews and Hawkins are winning the tag team titles soon. They are in a stable alongside Khoklov, Chord, Stone & Huggins. Bach will then lose the world title in a multi-man match (thinking elimination chamber) somewhere in december/january to Hawkins, which makes him proclaim to be the leader of the group, and they throw out Andrews, which sets up a title match at Total Mayhem XXI...

Could lead to some fun multi-man matches. Khoklov could be the wall the champ hides behind. Chord could be the turncoat who starts off on one side but eventually moves to the other b/c "it's just business". Either that or the title match loser reaches out to Bach for help tearing down the group.

Finally got my teeth sunk into a TCW game, probably the first time that I recall booking a PPV for one of the big three companies outside a temporary SWF '97 game.

Initially I wanted to lower mainstream (or was it traditional?) so I wouldn't have to run storylines but I decided to suck it in and just roll with it instead of being a big baby. I'm playing as Brent Hill and as booker. Owner goals include avoiding debt, pushing Chance Fortune & Benny Benson (neither have been too impressive though), avoiding psychopaths, low rep/stamina wrestlers.

Opened Hollywood Championship Grappling as a developmental company and signed just under 40 guys to go down there. Also upgraded our medical stuff to high level except soft drugs because I want to get rid of users quickly before they **** me over when I need them the most.

I released Warlord Pain & Jasmine Saunders because I don't need that negative energy in my life. I brought in Ed Monton to replace Pain. I wanted to send Jeremie Courney & Elliot Thomas down to HCG since I had nothing for them except jobbing and I could just call them up for that. Courtney stuck but Thomas complained in less than a month so he's on the main roster now probably till his contract expires.

I struggled a bit with how I wanted regular Total Wrestling shows to go. I think I went a bit too heavy on interference, and post-match angles. I'd like to reduce that by quite a bit and just have a lot more interviews and little interactions pre-and-post match like a staredown or a short promo. I've also tried to stray away from my tendency to auto-do 6 minute segs and I've been doing a lot more 3-4 minute ones. I might open up Showcase as a 1hr B show for squashes over dev guys.

Anyways - Malice in Wonderland PPV went decent but definitely could've been better and was absolutely aided by my spending $300K on extras because I had a feeling the main event would be underwhelming. I like to have nicknames for guys because they help me give guys more character. Renders & Nicknames can make or break a guy for me. So a lot of these guys have somewhat descriptive lengthy names, plenty you'll recognize from IRL.

I opened the PPV with a press-conference for the big matches of the night which I'll probably do going forward. I like it as being a distinctively TCW thing. I want PPVs, especially the "Main Card" to feel REALLY important.

1. “Flying” Jimmy Fox defeated “Shocking” Matt Hocking & Elliot Thomas: More of a 'pre-show' match than anything. Elliot Thomas got tossed in after the call up. These guys mostly job or work dark matches. Foxx is the least worst. No plans for any of these guys. Matt Hocking render is decent enough to warrant a look when there's room. - C

2. The Canadian Animals - Freddy Huggins & Edd Stone def. “Captain Charisma” Bart Biggins & “Dazzling” Dave Diamond: I initially had nothing for Canadian Animals but they are actually REALLY good. This is another 'pre-show' type match. Biggins & Diamond are alright but not interesting. They've gotten some screen time putting over other tag teams. Huggins & Stone were briefly involved in the Bach/Vessey feud after they came to the rescue of a Vessey attack on Bach and inadvertently pissed him off and got a beatdown. Canadian Animals will get more to do going forward. - C+

3. “The Monster Monsters Fear” Marat Khoklov def. "Necessary" Giant Tana: Yes, I went the Marat Khoklov route. I know the obvious thing is the AA vs. Golden interference but I didn't want to be TOO cliche. Tana called out the much hyped monster coming through and it was unveiled as Khoklov. Tana is just a guy who likes challenges and he's been pissed at being involved in singles matches with Mighty Mo and Jay Chord that involved distractions, and a 2 v 2 against them with Am-Buffalo where Buffalo bailed. Khoklov won what I imagine was a hard-hitting 5 minute match. He's actually not bad! And not in time decline! I was shocked to find he's accomplished almost nothing title wise in his career accept a throwaway King of Fighters reign. If he's solid over the next 5 months, he could do some more credible things before retirement! I love Menace workers so I do want to push him. I don't want to feel like I'm abusing him for the easy NB win. C+

4. “Lightning Bruiser” Eddie Peak & “The Most Must-See” Troy Tornado def. “Dr. Love” Danny Fonzarelli & “The Charismatic Enigma” Benny Benson: Eddie Peak deserves better than this tiny feud. Tornado got lucky in pairing up with Peak in this one but it's a one-man victory. Peak throws Tornado out of the ring post-match and celebrates on his own. Danny is in TD and not great. Benny is solid but that's all. Peak and Tornado are good, I see them as Strowman & Miz like. They'll face off at The War to Settle the Score. I want big things for Peak and I'd love to see him against Vessey/Garner/Khoklov/Behemoths and obviously the big names. Criminal he's never been world champ. - B

5. TCW International: “Speedball” Marc Speed def. “Straight Shooter” Joel Bryant, “Human Arsenal” John Anderson, “The Complete Package” Brent Hill: Marc Speed pissed off some of the best 'wrestlers' in TCW by claiming to be TCW's #1 Wrestling Machine. He beat Joel Bryant, one half of the reunited Machines, Brent Hill, and then was attacked by Hill during a near victory over Anderson. Bryant made to save him but turned on him instead. He offered to beat all 3 in a title defense. Speed is good and I like him. He's a Gresham or Yehi for me. All 3 other guys are in TD, and Arsenal needed to be kept strong. I forgot about crowd management so this technical match was a bust and worst match of the night. - C-

6. TCW Tag Team: The Behemoths - Killer Shark & Titan def. Devine Fortune - Darryl Devine & Chance Fortune, The New Wave - Guide & Scout, The Elite - Eddie Chandler & Nate Johnson: The Behemoths interrupted a Devine Fortune vs. The Elite match because they were happy to beat both. The New Wave added themselves in at the PPV, all 3 challenging teams got good wins ahead of this. The Behemoths retained but I accidentally left Call in Ring on so they really tanked in this one. I'm still not sure about keeping the belts on them but the tag division is well-varied. Eddie Chandler is on TD so probably not much left in the tank for this TCW career with regards to doing anything outside jobbing. - C+

Main Card time!

7. “Future Legend” Jay Chord def. “Underrated” Mighty Mo: One of the starting stories. Jay Chord & Mighty Mo cost each other matches against Giant Tana in their budding rivalry. I see Chord as a Cody Rhodes esque character and I'd love to get him big but I'm being patient. Mighty Mo is more of a Shelton/Kofi combo for me. He's got work to do. Both are future main event I think. Chord wins this one but I think there's a rematch in store. I see this as more of a 'friendly' rivalry than a super bitter one. Competitive but not heated. - B-

8. “Cowboy” Ricky Dale Johnson def. “The All-American American” American Buffalo w/ Floyd Goldworthy: Buffalo isn't remotely in RDJ's league nor at all a main event quality guy. He's a serviceable midcarder for sure with his menace, and I enjoy the tag line of him being the All-American American American Buffalo which means he's 3X the American you are. RDJ isn't in time decline but he's not amazing either. Still, I like his character and the thought of giving him a JBL type run has crossed my mind. He gets a win here. Time to move on to a real feud. B-

9. “The King of Rock Style” Sammy Bach def. “The Man With The Worst Personality” Bryan Vessey: Bryan Vessey is one of my favorite CV guys because I like dudes who feel like legit tough technicians. I kinda like the idea of picturing him as a Minoru Suzuki, hence the nickname. He's vicious and likes to hurt people. At some point he attacked Canadian Animals for doing regular low card brawl breaking-up things. He loses to "The King of Rock Style" because he's 8 years into time decline and not that great anymore. He was a bit unhappy to put over Bach but he can get over it. I liked the comparison of Bach to a Shinsuke Nakamura so that's basically what I'm rolling with. Super charismatic with a great weird infectious sort of mannerism. Bach is trying to climb up the face ladder where Taylor, RDJ and Golden all are. He's not AMAZING and his contract expires in 4 months. I think he leaves us for greener pastures. "The World's Most Dangerous Man" Buddy Garner came out after the match to challenge Bryan Vessey. TCW is all about the BIG singles matches and though Buddy & Bryan are past it I think they'd have a great brutal and hard hitting match. Buddy is EXTREMELY solid for a guy with Opener/Enhancement talent level pop. - B

10. “The Man” Wolf Hawkins def. “Bro” Joshua Taylor: Someone made "Bro" comments about Taylor in the rerender thread and visions of Matt Riddle came to life. I would love to push him but he's probably at the bottom rung of my main eventers pop wise. He has a future though. He teamed quite a bit with Rocky Golden as "Golden Bros" and I ship them basically. e_e Still, MOTN comes out of him against Wolf Hawkins. Hawkins is the best performer on the roster so far. He similarly teamed with Aaron Andrews but they're too egomaniacal to gel well. Hawkins actually helped Buddy Garner debut and Buddy has been a sort of partner/trainer for him. I'm not a Seth Rollins guy but he's basically Seth Rollins for me. He clashed with Andrews about being the face of TCW (even if everyone knows its Golden). This isn't the end of this rivalry. - B+

11. TCW World Heavyweight:“Your Favorite Wrestler’s Favorite Wrestler” Rocky Golden def. “The Ace” Aaron Andrews: Thanks to wal4u (I'm sure I got the username wrong) making Golden jewish in his TCW thread, I rolled with the idea that he's David Starr in John Cena's body and it made him a favorite for me. "The Ace" Aaron Andrews has less obvious comparisons for me. Maybe Drew McIntyre or Roman Reigns if they were a bit smaller, and their pushes went successfully. Anyways, Andrews has grown well and I like him, Rocky Golden has been underwhelming. I wanted The Ace to get a clean win but Rocky would be extremely unhappy. So Rocky wins by count out~ Ace doesn't walk away, it's just the clock was ticking and it was the best Rocky could do. Aaron Andrews actually aligned himself with The New Wave as "The Aces" (with the idea that they're the Aces of the tag team division but I think AAA is just using them), and they were a nightmare for The Golden Bros in the build-up. Post-match, Golden says its not over yet but Aaron says he's not so sure, all he knows is that if Rocky wants another shot, he's got to fight it out with everyone else that wants one. This match did not rate well, possibly because they're not great enough or possibly because of the "not associated with a hot storyline penalty". My anticipation of that with some set bonuses carried the show though. - B

El Mitico Jr. also debuted in a vignette. I had no intention to sign anyone outside Khoklov & Garner but Mitico Jr. got muscular. No one else is debuting anytime soon unless they're a huge expiring name. Rocky Golden and Bach's contracts expire before June sadly and I doubt I'll be able to keep either. I am bringing quite a bit of managers to help my less quality talkers (I'm looking at Vessey's and Taylor's). I want to have more straight interviews, staredowns, and pre/post match mini interactions than the more SE stuff. I know what my Total Mayhem main event is already and I have The War to Settle the Score card set (all singles matches).

Long post but I can't do diaries so meh.

Interesting read and direction you're going with.

Never been able to get a long term save going but I always see TCW as being a prime place for MMA style teams (experienced talker taking on a role overseeing / training workers, talking them up to get title shots etc).

Still retains an air of SE with internal power struggles developing (e.g. I wouldn't have all the members with the same alignment but maybe sharing similar characteristics).

I'm a big fan of just veering towards the MMA/Boxing direction in general. I'm not sure how much I'll run with teams. I'd love to have Emma Chase come in to manage The Aces (AA/New Wave) because she's the best manager in the world and the only one worthy. Although I'd like to replace New Wave with Bumfholes (I hate them but their perfect for Aces). I'm definitely bringing in quite a bit of managers/valets: Shane Sneer, Adrian Garcia, Jenny Playmate, Dharma Gregg and Haley Buck (one of them will be an interviewer though).

I want to borrow from puro and have a few young lions helping out with matches, breaking up brawls and that shiz.

I'd like guys to have their own sponsorship deals as well but I can see how that wouldn't make sense realistically since the fights are pre-arranged. Alternative, I'd like payouts for matches. Would make heel decisions like walking out of a match or DQ'ing more interesting since they're deliberately sacrificing a payout. Maybe even a MOTN & Performance of the Night bonus as well kayfabe. I know I've already got a loose sort of rankings being in store to decide future challengers and what not. I'm not sure how I'll divide that between the World/International/Tag Team belts.

I just read something and it said tcw’s main show was malice in wonderland, I thought TM was their main show. If so what is it e.g how many men, is it brawl bases or what etc

TCW's biggest event is 100% Total Mayhem (Legendary importance + Season finale).

The Total Mayhem match is a 4 vs. 4 30 minute Iron Man match inside a steel "cell" where the team with the most pins/submissions win. It is indeed brawl based.
