Sorin
Thanks for the reply Alex - I figured it was something to do with drivers not quite lining up. Fingers crossed for a fix with a wine update!

alex226
Can someone help me and tell me how to unlicence when using a mac? I don't get it I have never tried this so I'm not sure if it'll work, but theoretically you should be able to right click on TEW 2016 and click "Show Package Contents". Open up the Wineskin app inside that and then click "Advanced". There should be a field that says "EXE Flags" where you can unlicense it. StrongStyle
Can anyone help me with an issue I'm having when clicking on certain buttons in the game(played through Wine). When i click on, say "Product", a run time error pops up and kills the game. It says the following: Run-Time Error '339' Component 'ovsBooleanControls.ocx' or one of its dependencies not correctly registered. A file is missing or invalid. I've tried reinstalling, including going through the set up process for WineTricks again, but just get the same issue. Its frustrating as ive had it working fine, but had to reinstal after formatting my hard drive. Any help would be appreciated! Same issue for me, would love a remedy of some sort. d12345
<p>Edit: I figured out how to unlicense on mac using wineskin. Here's the steps for anyone who can't figure it out.</p><p> </p><p> 1. Go to the Wineskin TEW 2016 shortcut that you use to play the game.</p><p> 2. Right click -> show package contents -> drive c -> program files -> GDS -> TEW 2016</p><p> 3. Duplicate the TEW2016.exe</p><p> 4. On the Duplicated version rename it "TEW2016.exe -unlicense"</p><p> 5. Right click on that duplicated version and 'Make Alias'</p><p> 6. Drag that alias to the desktop</p><p> 7. Once it's on the desktop (or just in a different folder than the original) rename the alias to "TEW2016.exe -unlicense"</p><p> 8. Drag that alias from the desktop to the Wineskin shortcut that you normally use to play the game. Doing so will temporarily change the .exe file that it opens to be the file which you dragged onto it (in this case the TEW 2016.exe -unlicense).</p><p> 9. TEW will open and ask you if you want to unlicense just like on the PC.</p><p> </p><p> Et voila. You probably don't need to do the duplicating bit but it's a safety measure in case you mess up a file path when unlicensing. I'm going to relicense to my mac at a later time.</p>
jus10
Drag and play I'm having to drag TEW.exe to the premade Wine Wrapper. I cannot locate program files on my early 2015 Mac no matter how many times I've tried the install. I gave up and just placed it on my desktop. It was driving me batty. Anyway, does anyone know if there's a way to bypass the dragging and merging of icons and get back to the basics of just double clicking TEW.exe in order to play? Also, a cosmetic loss that I'm experiencing is no more icon for the TEW2016 game itself. I was under the impression that it'd become an app basically after I installed it. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. But thanks for sending me into the right direction of viewing the game on my MacBook Pro. Thank you! anderu
Hi! I used your tutorial and it was great and easy to make the game work. I am facing now an issue with the workers´pictures. When I click to change their picture from the profile, the game freezes. Just stops working, no error window, no crash, nothing. Just freeze. I have tried every database and check if I have more than 32,000 pictures (I don´t) and I have the same problem every time. I am not sure if this started with the Sierra upgrade, but it is around that date for sure. Has anyone suffer this? And more important, has anyone solve it? Thank you!! Beast9885
Anyone have any success using Wineskin with the new OS Sierra? I used this process, found that it worked and was about to purchase TEW 2016, but literally minutes later updated my OS and now I can't get wineskin to work with the TEW files. But at least I have Siri on my computer now which I'm never going to use....
d12345
If you hop on the Wineskin forums you'll see them mention issues with updating to the new Mac OS and using old wineskins/wrappers/etc.. I have no plans on upgrading for this specific reason. But if you are good with wineskin you can try to make a wrapper for it that works with the new OS maybe

HumbaBumba
<p>I'm having trouble installing mods. When I create a database, the database appears in the game. However, when I quit the program to move the TEW2013.mbd file to the appropriate folder, then re-load the game, I get the error message: </p><p> </p><p> "Warning! Connection to C:\Program\Files\GDS\TEW2016\databases\2014\TEW2016.mbd has failed (Not a valid password.). The program must now close."</p><p> </p><p> Any advice?</p>
junkstuff1111
I'm sure this is user error, as I've never really used a Mac before, but I've failed to even install the Wrapper from Method 2. I got it unzipped but when I try to install it, it tells me I can't copy or move a folder because I either don't have permissions or there's already a file with the same name in the Wrapper's program files folder. I adjusted the permissions via Finder, but that hasn't worked. Thank you for your hard work on this! Can't wait to be able to play TEW again!
