I’ve always thought you were a talented kid, but if you think this is the way to go about making a name for yourself, you’re going to be sorely disappointed.”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> Looking down at the mat, a smirk comes over Flame’s face, “Kate…it’s always got to be about you, doesn’t it? I saved your ass from losing this company, because Phil Vibert would run this place into the ground just like he did with DAVE. But the truth is, you’re no better than him. Oh yeah, in the back, it’s always words of encouragement, so wise and so fair, but when it came down to it, you were willing to put more than a dozen women out of work just to feed your ego!”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> With Laura’s words still hanging in the air, Hell Cat holds a hand up as she struggles for a response, “Hey…listen here, I…”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> “No! You listen to me! You got Deborah and Claire and Simony fired because you took the shortcut, the easy way. Instead of fighting for them, you took the first thing that Vibert offered you,” with the audience hanging on every syllable, Laura’s passion begins to bring more and more of the crowd on to her side, and Avatar can’t help but notice the increasingly accusing stares from the audience. “But, that’s the way it’s always been. Hell Cat Kate Avatar, the woman that only cares about herself. The woman that will screw over anyone and everyone to get what she wants.”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> Rather than continuing the argument with Laura, Kate lets out a long sigh before turning around to return to the back.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> “Oh yeah, run! Run away like you always do when the going gets tough! Run away just like you did from BSC!”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> At Flame’s final word, Hell Cat’s eyes go wide as she stops dead in her tracks. Look here little girl, Thea and me had a business relationship, pure and simple. She hired me, but when it comes down to it, I found something worth more than money. The woman standing next to me opened my eyes, showed me just how much using my muscle to prop up Thea was hurting me. All the people out there see me as nothing but a Killer, judge me by the color of my skin, and that’s never going to change. But that’s fine, because I’ve joined with LaRue X to show all of you what the real strength of Black Power looks like, and those two bitches limping to the back with their tails in between their legs are just the beginning.”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> As Hunter opens her mouth for a follow up question, LaRue jerks the microphone towards herself, “That’s right! We are Black with Attitude, we are Beautiful with Attitude, we are Bitches with Attitude. Quite simply, we are B.W.A. We just decimated Millie the Minx and Candy Floss, and let me tell you, if that’s the best KOWF has to offer, then that’s just straight up pathetic.”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> Before Hailey can interject, LaRue wrenches the microphone away from her and finds the nearest camera to stare directly into, “Listen here, B.W.A. is laying out the challenge right now. Next month, we take on all comers. Whatever tag teams think they can stand up to us, either in the back or out there watching, we’ll have a tournament for a shot at the Deuces Wild titles. Don’t be surprised if no one shows up, because all you Vegas crackas know there ain’t nobody that can beat us!”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> Throwing the microphone down at Hunter’s feet, LaRue raises her right fist into the air, and Kass joins her in silent protest as the crowd wells up with boos. </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><strong>Freebush:</strong></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><em>Can B.W.A. just set up a tournament like that?</em></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><strong>Messing:</strong></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><em>I think Kate Avatar has a lot more on her mind right now. <p>Prediction Contest Results and Card for the Girl Power Tournament</p><p> </p><p> Well, that took longer to put together than I would have liked. One of these days, I'm going to get back to the once a week pace (at this rate, an in-game year will take six months), but for now, I'll just have to feel my way around shortening the word count.</p><p> </p><p> That said, I was happy to see divergence in the predictions, and that Theheel nailed Paige Croft as the Gorgon's next challenger. I'll get more into this when I do the show review tomorrow, but as you might have guessed, Theheel's pick for the wrestler to be saved was Claire Winters. Luckily, this main event allowed me to get her right back into the story, but hopefully in a way not a lot of people saw coming. <img alt=":)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> As for the prediction contest results:</p><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="41787" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><strong>1st Place (tie) - kingjames: 4 points</strong><p> <strong>1st Place (tie) - Dr_Avalanche: 4 points</strong></p><p> 2nd Place (tie) - Theheel: 3 points</p><p> 2nd Place (tie) MisterRomanini: 3 points</p><p> </p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> For the tiebreaker, both kingjames and Dr_Avalanche went over, and under true Price is Right rules, this means neither one wins (seriously, this is how the game show works. <p>Another great show. You know, I'm liking your heels so much I'm rooting for them even though they do terrible things. Kind of getting the wrong kind of over here... <img alt=";)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/wink.png.686f06e511ee1fbf6bdc7d82f6831e53.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /> Popped so hard for Laura and Claire taking out their (justified, imo) anger at Kate, and B.W.A are great as well. Glad to see Emiko getting some of the spotlight. No shame in losing to someone like Gorgon, certainly not in the way she lost. </p><p> </p><p>

Regarding the mystery tag teams, I was praying for the Birds of Prey, but hey, you can't get everything... <img alt=";)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/wink.png.686f06e511ee1fbf6bdc7d82f6831e53.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p>

I can't believe I haven't done a tag team tournament in QAW. Adding that to the to-do list...</p><p> </p><p>

So, the predictions:</p><p> </p><p>

Tournament Semi-Final #1</p><p>

<strong>B.W.A.</strong> vs ????</p><p>

Need to build fear of B.W.A. I imagine they dominate their opponents here.</p><p> </p><p>

Tournament Semi-Final #2</p><p>

Ladies Reborn vs <strong>????</strong></p><p>

Well, Ladies Reborn could easily win here, but if the scenario in my head plays out, I think they encounter the stronger of the two new teams. B.W.A against Blonde Ambition in the final sounds so juicy I can't resist going for it.</p><p> </p><p>

Not much feeling here, but the lucha rules speak for the champs retaining.</p><p> </p><p>

Tournament Final - Winners Received DPW Deuces Wild Tag Team Title shot at Bitter Harvest</p><p>

<strong>Winners Semi-Final #1</strong> vs Winners Semi-Final #2</p><p>

Going back and forth here. On one hand, B.W.A seems like the natural choice, but if the opponents are Blonde Ambition, a win would kickstart such a natural feud. I think in the end a B.W.A win feels more natural. A mystery team coming in here out of nowhere and winning the whole thing I'm all for, but might seem a bit too sudden.</p><p> </p><p>

Main Event - If Fire N Ice Win, Claire Winters gets her job back</p><p>

<strong>Fire N Ice</strong> vs Kate Avatar and ????</p><p>

I feel I'm being set up, but Fire N Ice seem like a team that should be made to look really strong. On the theme of "Kate has no friends", her partner might not have her heart in it, or even full on turn on her. Looking forward to see how this turns out, </p><p> </p><p>

Plus, interviews with Paige Croft and Gorgon ahead of their title match at Bitter Harvest.</p><p> </p><p>

Bonus Questions</p><p>

Who will the two mystery tag teams be? (One point for each correctly named team - Hint: They are former BSC tag teams, and that list can be found here) - I'll go with <strong>Blonde Ambition</strong> and <strong>Fresh Petals</strong>. Very excited if I get to see Zoe Amiss back in action. I could see her team winning the whole thing. <img alt=":D" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p>

Who will be Kate Avatar's partner in the main event? Sally Anne Christianson?</p><p>

Who will debut to challenge Emiko Miyoshi to a friendly sparring match at Bitter Harvest? </p><p>

Not getting a read here... Could be literally anyone. <strong>Fuyuko Higa? </strong><img alt="" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/confused.png.d4a8e6b6eab0c67698b911fb041c0ed1.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p>

Will the tag titles change hands? <strong>No.</strong> </p><p> </p><p>

Tiebreaker</p><p>

What will be the number grade of the main event (last show was 65)? Tag team matches can get great numbers. Let's say <strong>69</strong>.</p>

<p>Review of Red Alert</p><p> </p><p> I'm doing this a little backwards with posting the review of Red Alert after putting up the card for the next show, but such is the joy of being an accountant in the first three months of the year. <img alt=":)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> Of course, there is still All In All V feedback to get to (can you tell I'm behind schedule? <img alt=":D" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />).</p><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="GilmourGuy" data-cite="GilmourGuy" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="41787" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>I also have thoughts regarding All in All.<p> </p><p> I really enjoyed the show. Thought it was a fantastic read (as well as pretty freaking brave). Deborah Young's little interlude did more to make me like her than anything so far. It looks like a fun spin on Kate Avatar character. Did she just win control of her company, only to sell out/fire half her workers? What does that make her?</p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> Thank you for the kind words. I guess you can call this a soft reboot of DPW. I was sad to see a lot of the workers go (it's weird how attached one can become to them). With Deborah Young, as I was writing that interlude, I was simming ahead in the game, and well, one of the next interludes will cover it.</p><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="GilmourGuy" data-cite="GilmourGuy" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="41787" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><p> Yeah, the King appearance in the show before had me fooled. I thought she was coming in with a big push. BTW, I still think my logic is sound. How can you throw a wrestler as large as Gloria or Monster or King over the ropes? It's like what Michael Cole keeps saying about the Big Show.</p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> King is definitely on the radar now, but with as many new wrestlers that are coming in, I didn't want her to get lost in the shuffle. The good thing is she can continue to work for KOWF and develop until it's the right time to bring her back for a monster push.</p><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="GilmourGuy" data-cite="GilmourGuy" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="41787" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><p> Probably the biggest surprise for me is that you actually fired one of these two. Winters and Flame are bonafide studs. Before creating DVW, I wrote (but never posted) a CVerse diary that was essentially a rip on CHIKARA. Ie, way more goofy and silly than what I'm writing now. My top tag team was Winters and Flame, running a gimmick where they dressed and pretended to be Captain Cold and Heatwave from the Flash TV show. Good times.</p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> Haha, that is awesome! It's like the game cries out for them to be rivals or tag team partners. I mean, their nicknames are Red Hot and Ice Cold!</p><p> </p><p> I will give a big hat tip to Theheel for picking Claire to save. She was just starting to come into her own, so it's nice to continue that momentum.</p><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="GilmourGuy" data-cite="GilmourGuy" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="41787" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><p> Melody was a great choice for Vibert's hired gun. My one criticism is that I would have waited to have Flame turn on Kate.</p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> So Flame's actions are definitely moving faster than I usually like to do. Part of it was wanting to have a hook heading into the next season, while also leaving myself options depending on who Theheel chose to save. Plus, I wanted Laura to give that promo to start Red Alert, and this just felt like the perfect set up for it.</p><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="Dr_Avalanche" data-cite="Dr_Avalanche" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="41787" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><p> I'm really torn on the LaRue X/Kass/Thea Davies story. It totally gets me engaged, it kind of bothers me that I feel LaRue X and Kass are bad guys in the story. </p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> So this is one of the few instances where I can say this is intentional. I went back and forth on LaRue being a face or a heel before she debuted, but I went with heel because it is so against the grain, and what they say should make people uncomfortable (because nothing they say is necessarily untrue). The original idea I had for B.W.A. was for if I ever did a USPW playthrough, in which case LaRue would have a lot to get off her chest that the crowd would have to hate her for. The conclusion of the storyline is kind of a personal statement, so hopefully I don't get too preachy. <img alt=":)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="Dr_Avalanche" data-cite="Dr_Avalanche" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="41787" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><p> Almost every matchup I felt sad that one part had to go. If I pushed her to the moon, I think she could have been where Kass is now, but it's just one of those things. I know the stats are different in 2016 vs 2010, but in 2010, she could put on great matches, but in the end, the ratings just weren't there. Of course, I didn't exactly put her in a situation to succeed.</p><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="kingjames" data-cite="kingjames" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="41787" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><p> If Season Five was "Everything Burns", then Season Six has to be "Rise Again", right?</p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> Ah, oh no. I probably need to study the Man Under Pressure storyline better, but that's a good parameter about what Kate is about to go through.</p><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="kingjames" data-cite="kingjames" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="41787" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><p> If we consider DPW to be the successor to BSC, then my god, what an unstable organization. BSC starts out as pure eye candy, turns into an actual wrestling promotion, dies a sudden and unexpected death, Kate starts DPW as a gritty continuation of BSC, DPW starts allowing back in early BSC sexual content (in small doses), DPW nearly dies due to finances once again, and now, DPW is given a second (third?) lease on life - with some stipulations. In some ways, BSC/DPW has been no less than five different promotions over the course of its life, which is what, about 10 years if you combine both promotions?</p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> This is a perfect description. I will agree with the five different incarnations. BSC had two under Kate, and I would call this the third phase of DPW (initial build, Yo Ho! years, and now this vision, which may or may not be Kate's).</p><p> </p><p> It's not a tremendous endorsement of Kate's booking skill, but I guess she'd rather error on the side of refreshing too early than waiting too long and becoming stale. The longest phase of BSC was about three and a half years, so here's hoping this one can top that.</p><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="kingjames" data-cite="kingjames" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="41787" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><p> Hell of a stipulation, the firing of everyone. We might need a roster update, to see who marked their doors and had the angel of death pass over them.</p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> Roster update is definitely coming after Bitter Harvest. I wanted to wait until then because by then, all the new wrestlers (at least those that are not pre-show jobbers) will have debuted. <img alt=":)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> <strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Red Alert</span></strong></p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="kingjames" data-cite="kingjames" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="41787" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><p> <strong>B.W.A. vs The Apron Dwellers</strong></p><p> <em>B.W.A. defeats Godzilla right now. I'm probably wrong, but let's go with the mystery wrestler. First blood is one of those match types where a slip could decide the outcome. Also, McMahon feels over enough that she could probably be the menacing threat she is just as well without a title.</p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> Both of you are spot on. Kathy's reign reached one year at All In All V, which is the maximum I like to do. Bringing in Sally (despite her F+ popularity) was a good way to keep in line with the idea that Victoria is exerting her influence over Kate's decisions while having a logical storyline reason, with Sally having been in a tag team with Tamara in BSC.</p><p> </p><p> Unfortunately, Sally let Kate know after the show that brawling matches do not suit her (despite having an above average Rumble rating). Considering the No DQ nature of the Athena title, this could pose a problem, but I think I'll find a way around it. The rematch at Bitter Harvest should be a good indicator of what Sally's DPW potential will be.</p><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="kingjames" data-cite="kingjames" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="41787" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><p> <em>It would appear that the sexuality is going to be toned down in the "All-New, All-Different" DPW, but the violence isn't going to be. I think this match does happen, but I wouldn't be surprised if this is the one taken off the card. Assuming it does happen, I would take Killer Kathy over a bulldozer in a one-on-one match right now. A literal bulldozer.</em></p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> Yeah, the first blood stipulation ended up being a good way of giving Kathy an 'out.' I wanted to get the title off of her because I think it's time she moved up, and doing so can give her a reason to get even <em>more</em> vicious.</p><p> </p><p> I've always thought of NOTBPW as being gritty wreslting (whether technical or just brutal physically), so if DPW is going to become NOTBPW-south, the violence quotient will probably stay the same, if not more. <img alt=":D" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> As for the other predicted opponents, 5SSW as locked down most of them. I would love to bring Amber Allen back, but she is going to be in Japan on a written deal for at least another year. Same with Jillian Jarvis, who after seeing her performances in Dr_Avalanche's diary, I wish I had brought in when I could have.</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Hoshiko Tagawa vs Velvet Suarez</strong></p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="kingjames" data-cite="kingjames" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="41787" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><p> <em>I think this is a tryout match for Hoshiko, figure out what kind of match grades she can put up. As such, I think the safer bet is to let your established wrestler pick up the victory, in case Tagawa stinks, because then you haven't really lost anything if it turns out Tagawa's a dud - instead of giving the dud the victory over your established worker.</em></p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> Pretty much. Suprisingly, Hoshiko outperformed Velvet in a Steal the Show match, which was very unexpected. The upside is that I have a better sense of where both wrestlers stand at this point, for better or worse. For Velvet, this means that her lack of stamina locks her in as a tag team wrestler for the foreseeable future, while Hoshiko firms up her status as the new carrier of the 'Kathy McMahon' slow burn push.</p><p> </p><p> In terms of the outcome, after Generation NOW's big win against Simony, I felt like if Tagawa lost this, it would kind of kill that momentum right away. Plus, I need a feud for the tag division. <img alt=":p" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> <strong>Emiko Miyoshi vs Gorgon</strong></p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="Dr_Avalanche" data-cite="Dr_Avalanche" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="41787" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><p> Well, now you're just mean. <img alt=";)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/wink.png.686f06e511ee1fbf6bdc7d82f6831e53.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /> There can be honor in defeat, and I hope Emiko gets to put on a valiant effort, but I can't see her win this.</p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> Yeah, this was pretty messed up to do to Emiko after her big win. I figured it would be a good way to measure her performance in a vacuum (Gorgon can have a good match with anyone). Considering Miyoshi was off her game and the two had bad chemistry, I was happy with the outcome. The next few shows will be big in figuring out exactly how far Emiko can go at this point, though.</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Kate Avatar vs Laura Flame</strong></p><p> </p><p> Despite the down rating for the match compared to other main events, I was happy with the outcome. Kate had her first 'off game' match I can remember, while I hadn't really had Laura do longer storytelling matches before, so this was a good way of gauging how that suits her. The good news is that the angles and this match increased the popularity of both women.</p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="kingjames" data-cite="kingjames" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="41787" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><p> <em>If there's one person in DPW who's willing to put ANYONE over, it's Kate. Especially since Deborah Young's out of your main event card, there's room for someone to slide into the upper card.</em></p></div></blockquote><p><em> </em></p><p><em> Exactly. I guess you can say Kate fills the Capitano roll in DPW. I'm happy to report the turn for both Laura and Claire went off without a hitch, so I'm hoping it didn't feel to gimmicky. Flame might be the best all-around member of the roster, with LaRue X a close second, so it feels like she's earned such a big victory.</em></p><p><em> </em></p><p><em> </em></p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="Dr_Avalanche" data-cite="Dr_Avalanche" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="41787" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><p><em> Now, wouldn't it be interesting if Laura won? Just catching up on the last few shows now. Some brilliant stuff. As a reader I'm really, really impressed. As a DPW fan I think I would have had some trepidation turning up after the firings (Simony and Joanna in particular). I surprised myself by working up a crush on Deborah Young of all people after her principled departure and would have cheered Laura Flame like a milk-white babyface. All in all I would have been a bit sour with DPW in general... then Paige Croft walks out and I would squeal like a schoolgirl at a Justin Bieber show. My loyalty has been won again... :)

Chapter 38 Interlude: A Lifetime in an Instant

Knock Out Wrestling Forever Presents…Coming Storm

http://i.imgur.com/a1gseRq.jpg?1

Live from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada

Sunday, Week 3, April 2020

http://i.imgur.com/9BurdNC.jpg

Jerome Turner:
This has been a bruising affair throughout, Guru. No doubt, neither Candy Floss nor Deborah Young are willing to let the prestigious KOWF Wrestling Spirit championship get away from them without a fight.

http://i.imgur.com/ass96zQ.jpg

The Guru:
They may understand the prize but not the ultimate goal, Mister Turner. Pupil Floss defends her title, but she must keep her wits about her if she wishes to avoid destruction at the hands of the Young monster.

http://i.imgur.com/CmAoeE5.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/FDrUdvi.jpg

Lashing out with a steel chair, Deborah Young attempts to strike her opponent in the head, but Candy Floss rolls out of the way of the damaging blow.

Turner:
Young has definitely gotten the best of this no disqualification fight so far, but Floss has refused to be put down. It is this same spirit that won her the title at Radioactive in February, and I’m sure it will serve her well here.

Seeking to use Deborah’s size against her, Candy moves in close to the 248-pound wrestler, fending off the brawler’s attacks with rapid kicks.

The Guru:
You speak of Spirit, I speak of glory. The Triple Crown is the ultimate destination for Pupil Floss. Kathryn McMahon may have fended her off for now, but it will not be long before my Pupil casts aside this muscle-bound threat to take her rightful place in Nirvana.

Turner:
I specifically remember Candy turning down your last offer of tutelage.

Before KOWF’s owner/color commentator can respond, Floss flips Young end over end with a surprise hurricanrana. Setting up the chair in the middle of the ring for a finishing blow, Candy climbs to the top rope while her opponent struggles to get upright. Leaping, the reigning KOWF Wrestling Spirit champion hits a leg drop bull dog on Young, driving the larger wrestler’s bowed head directly into the folded-out steel.

Floss wastes no time covering Deborah, and the 682 fans in attendance cheer for the champion as the referee slaps the mat 1 – 2 – 3.

Turner:
Quite the victory for Candy Floss. Perhaps you are right Guru, and Candy deserves a rematch against Kathryn McMahon after all.

While Floss celebrates, Young remains down on the mat, motionless. With the planned post-match attack not occurring, referee Jonathan Taylor checks on the 248-pound wrestler, but finds her unresponsive. In great haste, Taylor crosses his arms in an ‘X’ while shouting for medical personnel. From the announcers table, the only sound that can be heard is the throwing down of a headset as the Guru dispenses with his color commentator duties to sprint towards the ring.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

One week later, Deborah Young awakens from her medically induced coma in a well-lit Saskatoon hospital room. In her haze, she tries to move her limbs, but finds herself unable to do so. Struggling to turn her head ever so slightly to the right, through blurry eyes she spies Kate Avatar sitting in a chair next to her bed. A jacket is draped over Hell Cat, who has finally succumbed to the need for sleep after several hours of long vigil over her injured friend.

Haha, all good. I'm glad you enoyed. :)

Yeah, Deborah has kind of developed into Kate's super ego behind the scenes, but now out for a year with a broken neck, retirement is the most likely path for her (which sucks).

I can definitely see a strong contingent of DPW's fan base cheering for Laura when she attacked Kate. I'll probably try to incorporate this into the next show. I'll admit that if Claire hadn't been the one to be saved, Flame wouldn't have turned heel yet (maybe for awhile). I know I'm going to have a hard time moving Fire N Ice into full heel territory (unlike B.W.A.), so maybe they'll just stay as dishonorable tweeners for now.

Paige is one of those things where I've held off on her natural dovetail into DPW for so long because of how well she has been written in other diaries (Dr_Avalanche and kingjames specifically). BSC Paige Croft was more Shawn Michaels than Daniel Bryan, so I'm going to have to work to have that make sense in my mind. I'm hoping I can make her as bad ass a character in my own way, so fingers crossed.:D

Your post match comments gave me the thought something bad happened to Young. I was thinking maybe a car accident or worse had happened so this wasn't a shock, but is sad, young was one of my favs going back to the beginning of your story when she "served only one"". This sounds like a sad career ender and life changer

I can only echo what has been said. Speaking truth to power requires integrity, and that's <em>very</em> attractive. Even though we're talking about a fictional character, it's pretty gutting to hear. <img alt=":(" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/frown.png.e6b571745a30fe6a6f2e918994141a47.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

Deborah will always have a special place in this universe, not only because of her work in the beginning of DPW, but she was the first successful project I had in BSC. Plus, she has evolved into a kind of mirror to the evolutionary journey Kate is on, as the Young we saw at her last DPW interlude is the same one prior to the closing of BSC. We'll see if she is able to come back, because if she does, it does set her up for several different storylines.</em></p>

With a combined forty-five years of experience between them, the four wrestlers involved are able to get the crowd fired up without leaving first gear.</div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> Standing head and shoulders above the women her senior, Kass puts on one of her best performances yet, absorbing the offense from Brazzle and Ammis to then unleash her power on the respected veterans.</div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> When LaRue enters the ring, her trademark athleticism meshes well with that of Blonde Ambition, and Zoe is especially impressive in her DPW debut as the match heads for its finish.</div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> With the slender brawler now facing off against Brazzle, Suzanne manages to get the best of the exchange, leading to the blonde hitting LaRue with the Miracle Connection (Styles Clash). Before the referee can slap the mat for the third time during the ensuing cover, Kass storms into the ring and breaks up the pin with a stomp to Brazzle’s head.</div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> This blow gives LaRue enough time to crawl to her corner and tag in the freshly returned Kass to make the 240-pound wrestler the legal woman. Kass immediately looks to hit Suzanne with the Kill Switch, but the blonde has enough presence of mind to elbow her opponent in the gut and then stun her with a DDT.</div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> Still dazed from the 240-pound wrestler’s earlier stomp, Brazzle struggles to set Kass up for the Miracle Connection, only for Zoe to interrupt the process by reaching out from the corner and slapping her tag team partner on the back.</div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> Whatever Ammis’ intent, the blind tag confuses Suzanne enough that Kass is able to power out of the blonde’s hold, and before Zoe can land a punch, she is slammed into the mat with Kill Switch. With Brazzle rolling to the outside to recover, Kass steps on Ammis’ chest to get the pin. </div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><strong>Winners via Pinfall and advancing to the Tournament Finals: B.W.A.</strong></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><strong>Match Rating: C</strong></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> An exhausted LaRue pushes referee Gregory Chapman away from her tag team partner to lift Kass’ arm up in victory, the slender brawler’s face betraying her relief at not having to suffer the taunts from the crowd that would have come with losing. Sista Kass begrudgingly joins her stablemate in celebration of advancing to the tournament finals, while on the floor, Brazzle and Ammis engage in a brief argument before heading to the back.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><strong>Segment Rating: C</strong></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><span>http://i.imgur.com/52WMMKc.jpg</span><span>http://i.imgur.com/1OjidHr.jpg</span><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> On the video screen attached to the gym wall, Laura Flame and Claire Winters appear, the fans greeting their image with boos that top even those received by B.W.A. earlier.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> “Did you see the expression on Kate’s face when I hit her with that Flame Fire Kick?!” Laura, her red hair flying around as she emphasizes each word with the rapid movement of her hands, wears a wide grin on her face while she speaks.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> “Expression? She didn’t even know what hit her!” Winters and Flame have a good laugh at Kate Avatar’s expense before they finally turn their attention towards the camera.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> “Kate, feeling your neck crunch under my feet is one of the best moments of my life. My only regret is that we didn’t finish you off once and for all,” as she rants, Laura’s face becomes flush, her eyes narrowing as she moves closer to the camera.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> “You deserve every punch, every kick, ‘Hell Cat.’ You put me out of a job to save your own skin, for the second time! The only good thing to come out of that was you finally opened the eyes of my partner to what you really are, what this company is really all about,” Claire’s delivery is as precise as her strikes, her tone more measured than that of Laura.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> “That’s right! I let the love of the fans blind me to your greed, to your need to feed your ego. So you know what Kate, f*ck them and f*ck you too!”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> “You’ve seen what we can do. We’ve already let you know we’re giving you one chance at redemption. Meet us in the ring tonight, bring a partner if you can find someone dumb enough to have your back, because we’re gonna have a tag match, and when we win, I get my job back!”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><strong> Segment Rating: C</strong></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><span>http://i.imgur.com/lKtiHxc.jpg</span><span>http://i.imgur.com/Sn1eoo3.jpg</span><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> Not giving the fans much time to digest this challenge, the video screen cuts to another room within the high school, where Sally Anne Christianson stands with the Athena Warrior belt over her shoulder. To her left is a beaming Tamara McFly, while Hailey Hunter is placed in front of the newly crowned champion.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><span>http://i.imgur.com/jOjdvnd.jpg</span><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> “Sally, you ended the year-long reign of Killer Kathy McMahon to become the DPW Athena Warrior at Red Alert. How do you feel?” Hailey’s voice is bubbly as always, and Christianson greets this question with an easy smile.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> “How do I feel? I feel great. This title shows everyone out there that if you keep working hard, good things will come to you.”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> “And what do you say to the people out there claiming you just got lucky because you won a First Blood match?”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> At this, Sally’s mood shifts, “Yeah, I heard that, read that online. Funny, I do exactly what the rules call for to win, but that makes me lucky? Kathy’s so tough, she’s a bulldozer, and I’m just the blue-collar kid no one ever cared about, that it? If that’s the case, the woman at my side invented the toughest match in DPW history. Kathy has a rematch coming to her at Bitter Harvest? Let’s make it an Iron Maiden match, and we’ll see if anyone’s crying about luck when it’s over.”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> Storming off, Christianson leaves McFly to shrug at Hunter to officially end the interview.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><strong> Segment Rating: D</strong></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> <div style="border: solid 5px #000000;"></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><div style="text-align:center;"><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><strong>Match #2: Fresh Petals (Debbie Rose and Kate Lilly) vs Ladies Reborn - Girl Power Tournament Semi-Final</strong></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div></div><span>http://i.imgur.com/qZgquBv.jpg</span><span>http://i.imgur.com/L7IGDwE.jpg</span><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><strong>VS</strong></div></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div></div><span>http://i.imgur.com/YktNqrZ.jpg</span><span>http://i.imgur.com/kq95o5v.jpg</span></div><p></p><p></p><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> Back in the gym, the Ladies Reborn are making their way down to the ring, where the tag team of Debbie Rose and Kate Lilly already stand ready for the match to come.</div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><strong>Freebush:</strong></div></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><em>Lilly and Rose are one of the most successful tag teams in the history of Women’s wrestling, and I can’t wait to see them take on the Ladies Reborn.</em></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><strong>Messing:</strong></div></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><em>About the only thing Fresh Petals have been unable to capture during their careers are the BSC Girl Power titles, so you know they are going to give it their all to finally add that trophy to their collection. She judges me by my height instead of my heart. I’ve had her close, very close, to tapping out to the Memphis Deathlock many, many, many times, but no dirty tricks will save her when we fight next month. I’m not ‘Hit Girl’ any more, I’m a woman. <p>Big coup bringing SMY in, that got some pop. <img alt=":)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p>

She should shift the power balance in DWP in a drastic way that will be very interesting to follow. I look forward to see how you book her moving on.</p>

<p>Girl Power Tournament Review and Card for Bitter Harvest</p><p> </p><p> So, the tag team tournament was fun to run, but I was disappointed in the overall show grade. It came as a shock (being 11 points less than the main event grade) when Red Alert was only 3 points less than the main event, but I'll chalk that up to not enough Kate Avatar and her B-level promos. <img alt=":D" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> <strong>B.W.A. vs Blonde Ambition (Suzanne Brazzle and Zoe Ammis)</strong></p><p> </p><p> Suzanne and Zoe weren't part of the original plan, but I couldn't see holding a tournament named after the tag title belts they technically still held without them. Having them lose their debut match in DPW isn't ideal, but considering who that loss came against, it's at least not a big shock. Zoe impressed, and at 41, Brazzle must have gotten the ultimate destiny roll because she is <em>still</em> getting better.</p><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="Theheel" data-cite="Theheel" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="41787" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><p> <strong>BWA should win the tourney and is my pick as the NEXT world tag team champions of the world</strong></p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> Not a bad pick. <img alt=";)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/wink.png.686f06e511ee1fbf6bdc7d82f6831e53.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> <strong>Fresh Petals (Debbie Rose and Kate Lilly) vs Ladies Reborn</strong></p><p><strong> </strong></p><p> Everyone had the Ladies Reborn losing this one, which is understable up against the dreaded '????.' Using Debbie and Kate in this situation was a good way to see if tag team experience helps match grades with DPW's product (it does, but not by a large amount) while giving Charity and Sandra a quality win. All in all, this worked out pretty well considering Dark and Shine got their popularity boosted, while not harming Lilly and Rose too much in case I want to bring them back in the future.</p><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="Dr_Avalanche" data-cite="Dr_Avalanche" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="41787" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><p> Well, Ladies Reborn could easily win here, but if the scenario in my head plays out, I think they encounter the stronger of the two new teams. B.W.A against Blonde Ambition in the final sounds so juicy I can't resist going for it.</p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> This was exactly what I almost went with. I ended up going the route I did because Blonde Ambition beating Ladies Reborn really doesn't do anything for either team, while Charity and Sandra getting one win in the tournament at least helps them.</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Generation NOW vs Velvet Dream</strong></p><p> </p><p> I almost forgot this match was on the card as I was doing the write-up, which is not a good sign for either team. That said, both held their own and put on a good show. I don't like having 2 out of 3 falls end on a 2 to 0 score, but that is what the game spit out as a result, so I went with it. After conquering Simony, Selina and Hoshiko have some soul searching to do, while Velvet Dream get B.W.A. at Bitter Harvest. <img alt=":)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="Sudo_Nym" data-cite="Sudo_Nym" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="41787" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><p> <em>I feel like the Luchas are the higher upside play. Not sure where Gen NOW goes from here, though, except maybe the singles division.</em></p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> Not a bad hunch. I'm still sorting through what to do with Gen NOW because I want them to continue their upward trajectory, but the top of the card is becoming crowded.</p><p> </p><p> <strong>B.W.A. vs Ladies Reborn</strong></p><p><strong> </strong></p><p> The surprise of the night for me, at least in terms of match grade. Kass and LaRue put in great work as always, but Sandra and (especially) Charity looked like they belonged against them. It's cliche to say that there are no losers here, but Ladies Reborn get to hold their heads high at coming so close to winning against main eventers, while B.W.A. get the trophy that everyone predicited. <img alt=":p" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> <strong>Fire N Ice vs Kate Avatar and Sara Marie York</strong></p><p> </p><p> Ah, so I had already signed Sara when I made the decision to go after Paige Croft for the title match against Gorgon at Bitter Harvest, so it became a question of how to get York into the main event picture because she is that damn good. Similar to Blonde Ambition, having her lose her debut is not exactly the right game plan for getting her over, but at least she comes in as one of the most over wrestlers already, so I felt she could absorb it.</p><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="Dr_Avalanche" data-cite="Dr_Avalanche" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="41787" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><p> I feel I'm being set up, but Fire N Ice seem like a team that should be made to look really strong. On the theme of "Kate has no friends", her partner might not have her heart in it, or even full on turn on her. Looking forward to see how this turns out,</p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> Yeah, I wanted people to read maybe too much into the stipulation, thinking that if Fire N Ice did lose, then Claire would still stick around to torture Kate until she got her job back. </p><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="Sudo_Nym" data-cite="Sudo_Nym" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="41787" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><p> <em>Flame demands a push, Winters is solid, and this is a good way to get them both up.</em></p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> Precisely. With both Laura and Claire topping DPW in terms of momentum, this was a good way of capitalizing on that while putting them further ahead in the feud with Kate.</p><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="Dr_Avalanche" data-cite="Dr_Avalanche" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="41787" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>Big coup bringing SMY in, that got some pop. <img alt=":)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><p> She should shift the power balance in DWP in a drastic way that will be very interesting to follow. I look forward to see how you book her moving on.</p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> Yes, I was very surprised she was willing to work for DPW from the outset of NOTBPW closing (as opposed to someone like Lauren Easter) but I guess that is due to her working with Kate before in BSC. Sara is like a rich man's Simony Sentinel, so I'm hoping she's as good as her reputation (it looks to be that way so far).</p><p> </p><p> I'm still not sure why AAA and QAW haven't signed Sara or Easter yet, but it could have something to do with the economy going into a downturn. Of course, Kate's never been one to put the budget ahead of the product. <img alt=";)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/wink.png.686f06e511ee1fbf6bdc7d82f6831e53.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> Moving on to Bitter Harvest, I'm excited for this show (I haven't actually run it in the game yet). It is the third biggest of the year, and I think the card reflects this. This will also hopefully be the last show done on the every other week schedule. I pared down another 500 words for the Girl Power tournament, so I feel like I am getting to a place where I can post one show a week. I am also changing jobs at the start of next week, so I'm hoping the longer commute on public transportation will equate to more time to write. <img alt=":D" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="41787" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><p> <strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Card for Bitter Harvest</span></strong></p><p> </p><p> Live from the Warehouse</p><p> Los Angeles, CA</p><p> </p><p> <strong>For the DPW Deuces Wild Tag Team Titles</strong></p><p> B.W.A. vs Velvet Dream ©</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Friendly Sparring Match</strong></p><p> Emiko Miyoshi vs Kaede Sugiyama</p><p> </p><p> <strong>DPW Deuces Wild #1 Contender Match</strong></p><p> Generation NOW vs Ladies Reborn</p><p> </p><p> <strong>30-Minute Iron Maiden Match for the DPW Athena Warrior Title</strong></p><p> Killer Kathy McMahon vs Sally Anne Christianson ©</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Four-way match for a DPW Queen of the Ring title shot at Line in the Sand (July event)</strong></p><p> Claire Winters vs Laura Flame vs Kate Avatar vs Sara Marie York</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Main Event - For the DPW Queen of the Ring Title</strong></p><p> Gorgon © vs Paige Croft</p><p> </p><p> Plus, Suzanne Brazzle celebrates winning the QAW World title!</p><p> </p><p> <strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Bonus Questions</span></strong></p><p> How many titles changes will take place during the show?</p><p> How many total falls will there be in the Iron Maiden match?</p><p> Who will join Jim Lou Freebush and Doc Messing as a 'one night only' color commentator?</p><p> </p><p> <strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Tiebreaker (Price is Right Rules)</span></strong></p><p> What will the attendance be? I think you like to keep it face vs heel when you can, so if Paige wins the Queen of the Ring title, it would make sense for Laura or Claire to come out on top here. But I think I go the other way. The temptation to put SMY in the main event must be difficult to resist.</em></p><p> </p><p>

<p>Catching up to everything, I do have to say I'm pretty torn up that a lot of the building blocks, some more important than others, were written out of DPW and they all seem to be replaced by "bigger names," whether old ones from BSC or one of the other promotions you are in the alliance with. While it all makes complete sense from a storyline perspective, I can't say I'm not holding out hope that the culmination of this "season" leads to another shift with the expensive faces getting dropped for our old favorites again <img alt=":(" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/frown.png.e6b571745a30fe6a6f2e918994141a47.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p>

(Though to be honest your roster was pretty bloated for being just on the cusp of small, which is a bad habit I have as well)</p><p> </p><p>

<em>0% chance of a clean win by the champs here. Either they cheese win with a roll-up (unlikely), win by DQ due to gratuitous violence (less likely), or they are just outmatched (most likely)</em></p><p> </p><p>

Emiko Miyoshi vs <strong>Kaede Sugiyama</strong></p><p>

<em>Part of me is against voting against any DPW originals but there seems to be a storyline building up with this match so I'm looking for Emiko to get a bigger rub when it all plays out</em></p><p> </p><p>

Generation NOW vs <strong>Ladies Reborn</strong></p><p>

<em>GenNOW seem to be in a bit of a holding pattern (an idea I'd been tossing around in my head is a former Generations member rounding them up and reforming the stable) and the Ladies have a new wave of momentum after the reveal of their titular Lady</em></p><p> </p><p>

Claire Winters vs Laura Flame vs Kate Avatar vs <strong>Sara Marie York</strong></p><p>

<em>Same reason as other people have said. As harsh as it is to type, SMY is a big star coming over temporarily to do the job to your main characters. So, she'll put on a good show, get a couple token wins, and have her back on the mat in a "filler" match at one of your less important events to bridge a gap</em></p><p> </p><p>

Main Event - For the DPW Queen of the Ring Title</p><p>

<strong>Gorgon</strong> © vs Paige Croft</p><p>

<em>Was not a fan of Gorgon at first but I do like the approach of having her with a Kevin Owens-esque character. She seems much less volatile than Paige as someone as big as her could be ripped out of your hands if you don't tread carefully with your alliance</em></p><p> </p><p>

How many titles changes will take place during the show? <strong>1</strong></p><p>

How many total falls will there be in the Iron Maiden match? <strong>3? There has to be more than 2 because McMahon will get one clean fall, SAC will get a clean fall, and Ariel will be involved in some way in the deciding fall</strong></p><p>

Who will join Jim Lou Freebush and Doc Messing as a 'one night only' color commentator? <strong>If I go along with my fantasy booking, this would be Belle Bryden, who would eventually try to mentor GenNOW after a disappointing match</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<p>Okay, first of all, it's clearly bunk that I didn't win. I am the best predictor, and my track record proves my excellence. Clearly there are irregularities in the counting process that leads to Mr. Wolf there screwing over the real talent for his favorites. That said:</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>B.W.A.</strong> vs Velvet Dream ©</p><p>

Generation NOW vs <strong>Ladies Reborn</strong></p><p>

<em>I don't think Generation NOW is doing anything in the tag division, and won't be around as a unit much longer. Meanwhile, Ladies Reborn have proven to have quite a bit of juice as a team. Maybe make the tag title scene a three way, let Generation NOW split. I only fear that there's not enough depth in the division longer term.</em></p><p> </p><p>

30-Minute Iron Maiden Match for the DPW Athena Warrior Title</p><p>

Killer Kathy McMahon vs <strong>Sally Anne Christianson ©</strong></p><p>

<em>I think this could go either way, but I like longer reigns. I'm looking for McMahon to get a push after this, since I think she matches up well in the main event scene. That said, a wrestling McMahon doesn't sound right to me, so it'll probably die and we'll never hear from that family again.</em></p><p> </p><p>

Four-way match for a DPW Queen of the Ring title shot at Line in the Sand (July event)</p><p>

Claire Winters vs Laura Flame vs Kate Avatar vs <strong>Sara Marie York</strong></p><p>

<em>She's a big star who lost on her debut. She can't lose twice in a row, or you risk completely stalling her out. Her against Gorgon is also a fresh program, and this finish allows Avatar to continue the feud with Flame.</em></p><p> </p><p>

Main Event - For the DPW Queen of the Ring Title</p><p>

<p>Chapter 39 Interlude: It’s a Man’s World</p><p> </p><p>

</p><p><span>http://i.imgur.com/1Hyvuq0.jpg</span></p><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Packing up the last of the boxes from her former home/office at Piper Casino, Kate Avatar surveys the now empty room as she thinks back on how far DPW has come financially in just the past few months. Thanks to the alliance with AAA and QAW, the company is now pulling in a profit of $10,000 per month, which has allowed Kate to draw a salary from the promotion for the first time in its history.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

With this money, Avatar has an apartment off the Strip that is ready to be moved into, just in time for Piper Casino management to officially kick her out now that DPW has moved on to larger venues.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

As Hell Cat carries the final box to her car, she feels her phone vibrate in the pocket of her jeans. Knowing that the negotiations with the Warehouse have been touch and go to host Bitter Harvest, Kate puts the box down on the asphalt and checks her phone. With the call coming from a Los Angeles area code, Avatar decides to answer, “Hello?”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

</div><span>http://i.imgur.com/5bey5Xa.jpg</span><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

“Kate Avatar, it’s Cliff Anderson. Don’t hang up, I’m calling as a friend.”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Hell Cat pauses for several seconds, unsure as to how to respond to the owner of CZCW. Her thumb moves to end the call, but she opens her mouth instead, “I don’t think spamming racist shit on our videos or taking down our website is very friendly.”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

“Part of the business, I’m afraid. I hear you’re going to run another show in Los Angeles? That is our territory, you know.”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Listening to Anderson chomp away at what Kate can only assume is popcorn, Avatar’s voice is fully of incredulity as she speaks, “I thought the territory system died twenty years ago.”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

“Eh, I didn’t call you to debate that, Kate. What I wanted to give you is a friendly warning, one promoter to another. You’ve seen what we can do, but if you insist on this foolhardy mission of invading CZCW’s turf, it’s only going to get worse.”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

“Funny Cliff, if I didn’t know any better, I’d swear you were threatening me.”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

“It’s not a threat Kate, it’s a promise. Women’s wrestling is a cute diversion and all, but you seem to fail to grasp the seriousness of the situation. This business is about the men, has always been about the men, for a hundred years. What you are doing is attempting to put out of business the one bastion on the West Coast for </div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><em>men</em></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"> that don’t want to sell out to SWF or USPW.”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

“Cliff, if we put on a better show than CZCW, it’s because we have the better wrestlers. Just because </div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><em>you</em></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"> failed to grasp what someone like Joanne Rodriguez could mean for your business isn’t DPW’s problem.”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

There is a long pause on the other end of the line, and the sound of chomping on popcorn ceases, “I thought that’s what you’d say. I was really hoping we could come to some sort of truce, call off the dogs if you will. I see now that won’t happen, which is unfortunate. Rumor is that you’ve buried the hatchet with Farrah Hesketh and Catherine Quine. Personally, I always thought that hatchet would end up in your back, but this business never fails to surprise me.”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Bending down to pick up the box, Hell Cat readies her finger to hang up on the owner of CZCW, “What’s your point Cliff?”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

“Just be careful. I’m not the only one that wants to see you out of business.”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

“As I recall, you’re the only one to send a spy into my company.”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

A long peal of laughter emits from Avatar’s phone before Anderson speaks again, “Are you talking about Brayfield?! Oh Kate, you still haven’t figured that out? I didn’t send Jackson to ruin you, Farrah did.”</div><p></p>
