<p>Since my mind has been slipping some lately, better do this now while I'm thinking about it.</p><p> </p><p>

Card for Heat Check</p><p> </p><p>

Pre-Show:</p><p>

<strong>Ariel Breaks</strong> vs Sarah Sparkell</p><p>

I just don't see Sarah breaking into the win column here</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Generation NOW</strong> vs Raiden</p><p>

This one is tougher than I think surprisingly, but I will go with the more over team even in the pre-show</p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

Main Show:</p><p>

For a spot in the 6-Woman DPW Queen of the Ring Body Count Match at Ashes in the Fall</p><p>

<strong>Deborah Young</strong> vs Thea Davis</p><p>

You don't know how badly I want to pull the trigger here after your last interlude with Thea and the Creep, but I have been a Deborah fan this whole diary so not going to change now.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Marie Punnen</strong> vs Sista Kass (if Marie wins, she gets her job back)</p><p> </p><p>

This reeks of setup as on paper there is no way Kass would lose this match, but I see 2 scenarios here both ending in a DQ. One of them is Marie gets DQ'd because of outside interference from some outside forces and then Kass threatens Vibrant's life if he does not reinstate Marie so she can deal with her on her own. The other is simply Kass destroys her, doesn't stop and is DQ.</p><p> </p><p>

For the Deuces Wild Tag Team Titles</p><p>

<strong>Ladies Reborn (w/ Roxy Kitten)</strong> vs Yo Ho! ©</p><p>

The build for this has been ongoing so it needs a payoff. Besides someone else said YoHo is so over they don't need the belts, I agree</p><p> </p><p>

No Disqualification Match for the DPW Athena Warrior Title</p><p>

Electric Dreamer (w/ Seduction) vs <strong>Killer Kathy McMahon</strong> ©</p><p>

Something is in the works here with Dreamer and Seduction, one more loss will push it to come to fruition </p><p> </p><p>

For a spot in the 6-Woman DPW Queen of the Ring Body Count Match at Ashes in the Fall</p><p>

Claire Winters vs <strong>Gorgon</strong></p><p>

Another one of my favs, but I don't see Gorgon going down unless it is to save money, but I doubt it as rumor has it Gorgon moved the needle.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

Main Event for the DPW Queen of the Ring Title</p><p>

<strong>Kate Avatar </strong>© vs Simony Sentinel</p><p>

I picked against Kate last time but not here. Now in the 6 Woman Body Count the champ will go down.</p><p> </p><p>

Bonus Points (One Point Each)</p><p>

How many titles will change hands during the show? <strong>1</strong></p><p> </p><p>

The Queen of the Ring title will be defended at Ashes in the Fall in a 6-Woman Body Count Match (think Elimination Chamber). Two of the spots will be determined at Heat Check. Who will be the other four entrants announced during the show? (one point for each correctly named wrestler; an additional bonus point for guessing the common theme among the four)<strong>these are the ones I thought of too, but is it too obvious. Something tells me Mr Wolf has something more clever up his sleeve maybe. But all former/current QoR champs in Avatar, Simony, Flame and Kass</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Where will DPW finish in September's Regional Battle (out of 5)? <strong>Not sure I ever get this right but will stick with 2</strong></p>

Heat Check, Bay Bay!

Pre-Show:

Ariel Breaks vs Sarah Sparkell

My heart says Sarah, because between your diary and mine, poor girl never wins. My heart Breaks, unfortunately.

Generation NOW vs Raiden

Their time is NOW.

Main Show:

For a spot in the 6-Woman DPW Queen of the Ring Body Count Match at Ashes in the Fall

Deborah Young vs Thea Davis

I'm thinking Thea Davis takes it, after her sympathetic portrayal in the recent interlude. I still think Deborah Young makes her way into the match, though.

Marie Punnen vs Sista Kass (if Marie wins, she gets her job back)

I think she gets her job back, but she's going to pay one hell of a price to get it. Kass is super-protected in this loss, which may be a rage DQ.

For the Deuces Wild Tag Team Titles

Ladies Reborn (w/ Roxy Kitten) vs Yo Ho! ©

Yo Ho! don't need the belts, whereas if Ladies Reborn is going to be a serious faction, they need the win.

No Disqualification Match for the DPW Athena Warrior Title

Electric Warrior (w/ Seduction) vs Killer Kathy McMahon ©

In a regular match, I'd expect an Electric Warrior win via DQ, since McMahon's a bit of a mad dog. In a No DQ situation, I think McMahon's killer instinct prevails and causes more tension between Warrior & Seduction.

For a spot in the 6-Woman DPW Queen of the Ring Body Count Match at Ashes in the Fall

Claire Winters vs Gorgon

Winters has been around longer; Gorgon could do take it and so this is really a toss up for me. Gorgon could get over as a woman not to be trifled with, but Claire's got history in the company. Either way, it doesn't affect my prediction for the other women in the six-woman match.

Main Event for the DPW Queen of the Ring Title

Kate Avatar © vs Simony Sentinel

Simony's taken some major strides forward, but I'm not sure that she's ready (brother). I think Kate holds onto the belt for now, after a fine and evenly-booked showing from Sentinel.

Bonus Points (One Point Each)

How many titles will change hands during the show? - Dos campeanatos

The Queen of the Ring title will be defended at Ashes in the Fall in a 6-Woman Body Count Match (think Elimination Chamber). Two of the spots will be determined at Heat Check. Who will be the other four entrants announced during the show? (one point for each correctly named wrestler; an additional bonus point for guessing the common theme among the four) - I suspect the others are correct, but for giggles, I'm going to go with Kate Avatar, Laura Flame, Maria Guest, and getting in despite the loss here, Deborah Young. Their commonality - they were all part of BSC, as were Thea Davis and Claire Winters.

Where will DPW finish in September's Regional Battle (out of 5)? - Second; CZCW is a constant thorn in the side.

This is greatly helped by working with Ariel, who demonstrates why she is considered one of the top ring generals in the company by guiding the older Sparkell through the paces.</div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> The fans even begin to believe that Sarah has a chance to win after the Cat’s Lair graduate connects with the Sparkell Splash (rounding moonsault) on a surprised Breaks. Ariel just manages to kick out at two, and right as Sparkell is gaining confidence, demolishes her opponent with Breakerfall. Going to the top rope for a high-flying move of her own, Breaks hits the Ariel Spiral on the downed Sarah for the pin.</div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><strong>Winner via Pinfall: Ariel Breaks</strong></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><strong>Match Rating: E+</strong></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> <div style="border: solid 5px #000000;"></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><strong>Pre-Show Match #2: Generation NOW vs Raiden</strong></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div></div><div style="text-align:center;"><span>http://i.imgur.com/dBBDsXj.jpg</span><span>http://i.imgur.com/fzOUm1W.jpg</span><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><strong>VS</strong></div></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div></div><span>http://i.imgur.com/FnQ2qa4.jpg</span><span>http://i.imgur.com/CgpxqGh.jpg</span><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div></div></div><p></p><p></p><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> Deserving of a spot on the main card, the four women involved put on a bruising affair that warms up the record crowd while leaving them wanting more.</div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> With Generation NOW striving to cut off the ring, Raiden break through with their combination of power and speed. Becoming frustrated with their inability to put away this perceived lesser competition, Selina and Hoshiko resort to dirty tricks, one of them distracting the referee so the other can land a cheap shot on their Japanese opponents.</div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> Approaching the seven-minute mark, Nami looks to hit a wobbling Tagawa with flying double knees, but the technician leaps out of the way of this finisher. Before Genda can follow up, Hoshiko lands a stiff uppercut that sends her foe to the mat. Slapping on the Rolling Leglock, Tagawa twists Nami’s knee at an awkward angle, and before Mochizuki can break up the submission, Genda is forced to tap out from the pain.</div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><strong>Winners via Submission: Generation NOW</strong></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><strong>Match Rating: D-</strong></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><strong>Show Opening:</strong></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><em> </em></div><div class="ipsEmbeddedVideo"><div><iframe width="200" height="150" src="https://www.youtube-nocookie.com/embed/e8-sMJZTYf0?feature=oembed" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen="" title="Let The Bodies Hit The Floor (Lyrics)"></iframe></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><span>http://i.imgur.com/58rAAIL.jpg</span><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> Walking onto the stage with a stoic expression on his face, a noticeably graying Phil Vibert surveys the audience. While most of the fans cheer the owner of DPW, there are a few, very vocal members of the crowd that loudly boo him.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> Making sure to find his detractors, Vibert emphatically points at the handful of fans, “My how fast you turn. I guess that’s loyalty for ya’ in this day and age. Seems to be a trend around here.”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> Remaining on the stage, Phil wipes his face with his right hand before continuing, “You know, I stuck my neck out to save this place, and what thanks do I get? These wrestlers think they can do whatever they what, whenever they want, and it starts at the top.”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> The implication clear, the crowd moves to the edge of their seats, “Kate Avatar, I’m looking forward to your title match tonight, as I’m sure you are, but there is a price to pay for defying me. That little stunt you pulled with Deborah Young last month, it’s gonna cost you. Ashes in the Fall is coming up, our annual October event. The company that used to occupy this theater, they had an annual October event too, headlined by a very special match, the Body Count match. Six wrestlers enter a steel chamber, and fight tooth and nail until only one is left. Kate, whether you win tonight or not, the Queen of the Ring title will be defended at Ashes in the Fall in that match, and just to show you I’m a fair man, every former Queen of the Ring in this company will join the current champion in the Body Count chamber.”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> While the audience processes what Vibert has just announced, Phil shifts his stance, pointing his body towards the back while keeping his head turned towards the crowd, “By my calculations, that leaves two more spots remaining. We earn our way in this company, so those will be determined in matches tonight, and the first one is next!”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><strong>Segment Rating: C</strong></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> <div style="border: solid 5px #000000;"></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><strong>Match #1: Deborah Young vs Thea Davis – Winner received spot in the Body Count Match at Ashes in the Fall</strong></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div></div><div style="text-align:center;"><span>http://i.imgur.com/FDrUdvi.jpg</span><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><strong>VS</strong></div></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div></div><span>http://i.imgur.com/BtwT5LL.jpg</span></div><p></p><p></p><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> The crowd is already hot for this match as Deborah and Thea square off, and the hard-hitting action only serves to further stoke the excitement of the fans.</div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> From the outset, it is clear Young is out for revenge, both for Thea’s trickery that cost her a spot in the Venus Tournament Semifinals and the original betrayal by Generations.</div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> After body slamming Davis to the mat for a third time, Deborah roars, “I don’t forget Thea, and I don’t forgive!” before following up with a leg drop.</div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> Selling the effects of this assault, Davis rolls to the outside to collect herself, but quickly finds herself in a brawl with her larger opponent on the floor. To the Englishwoman’s credit, she more than holds her own against Deborah, and in the process, shows how far she has come in her ability to control the flow of a match while keeping the crowd engaged.</div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> Fighting their way back into the ring, Thea begins using Young’s own rage as a weapon, causing the 248-pound woman to charge herself into a turnbuckle after Davis rolls out of the way. The Englishwoman shouts, “Off with her ‘ead,” but when she delivers an Axe Kick to the back of her foe’s neck, Deborah barely flinches.</div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> Standing straight up and puffing out her chest, Young rolls her eyes into the back of her head while stretching out her arms. Thea can hardly believe what she is seeing, and runs back to the ropes for another attempt at her finisher.</div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> Before Davis can connect, Deborah flattens her with a stiff clothesline. With their usual chemistry on full display, the two wrestlers seem almost telepathically connected as they anticipate each other’s moves with startling precision.</div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> The all-out effort brings the audience to their feet after an early sequence sees Kate’s suplex attempt countered into a running bulldog. When Simony tries to follow up with a spinning kick, Hell Cat grabs the purple haired wrestler’s leg and tosses her towards the ropes, but the Violent Violet uses this as leverage to leap and hit the champion with a flying elbow.</div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> As chants of “D – P – Dub” start up, Simony jumps to the top rope, but when she tries to connect with the Sentinel Strike, Avatar springs to her feet and lands a desperation uppercut directly to her spinning opponent’s face.</div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> Both women collapse to the mat, and when Simony looks up, there is blood trickling from her nostrils. Not letting this burst of pain slow her down, the Violent Violet uses the ropes to pull herself up and then lets out a shout. The audience reciprocates with cheers, and Sentinel bounces off of the ropes for UltraViolet.</div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> Unfortunately for the challenger, Hell Cat is ready once again, and picks up the off-balance Violent Violet for the Dark Phoenix Driver.</div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> …1</div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> …2</div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> …but Simony kicks out.</div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> Kate looks over to the gleaming Queen of the Ring belt on the timekeeper’s table and slaps the mat several times in frustration. Instead of going for the pin or one of her finishing moves, Simony grabs Kate’s legs and puts Avatar in the Figure Four.</div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> The Queen of the Ring cries out, but instead of tapping, Hell Cat struggles until she manages to turn over and reverse the submission on Sentinel. Sentinel tries to escape with all of her being, but even with the fans now firmly backing her, the Violent Violet can’t help but tap out. </div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><strong>Winner via Submission and Still DPW Queen of the Ring: Kate Avatar</strong></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><strong>Match Rating: C+ (68)</strong></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </DIV></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> So entranced in her focus at retaining her title, Kate releases her grip on Simony only after hearing the bell ring for the third time. Taking a moment to kneel on the mat, Kate catches her breath while the crowd rewards both competitors in the main event with a standing ovation.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> Rising to her feet, Hell Cat limps over to Sentinel, who sits on the canvas with her knees tucked into her chest and a look of dejection on her face. Kate extends her hand out, and the Violent Violet accepts the gesture to lift herself up.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> Avatar and Simony remain face to face as the fans continue to applaud, Kate offering words of encouragement to the purple haired wrestler, who stares at the Queen of the Ring title as the gold is awarded to Hell Cat.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> Before Sentinel can turn to leave the ring, Kate stops the Violent Violet and shakes her hand again to another round of approval from the audience. Well, let me tell you something you’ve probably never heard, you don’t know shit!”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> Hell Cat’s passion elicits an ‘Ooooooh’ from the crowd, but the Queen of the Ring continues on as if she doesn’t even hear this, “There is something that the people who fight in this ring have, and that’s honor, and that means more than any podcast or hot take. When I say I’m going to fight someone, I fight them. I don’t run away, I don’t make excuses. You want a Body Count match at Ashes in the Fall, you got it! <p>Prediction Contest Standings and Card for Ashes in the Fall</p><p> </p><p> Because I've enjoyed this feature in a couple of other diaries, I figured I'd give an overview of my logic behind the results as a way to respond to people's predictions and lift the hood a little bit on DPW (as always, I appreciate the feedback in the comments as it really does help me see what people are thinking <img alt=":)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />).</p><p> </p><p> <strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Heat Check Results</span></strong></p><p> </p><p> Ariel Breaks def. Sarah Sparkell</p><p> <em>Everyone saw Ariel winning, and rightly so. I realized it had been awhile since she had been in a singles match, let alone have a win. Her momentum is still through the roof due to her past storylines, but I had almost forgotten how good she is in the ring (D performance here without the benefit of a warmed up crowd). On the other end, Sarah did put in a better performance (E- up from F+) so at least she is learning through her losing.</em></p><p> </p><p> Generation NOW def. Raiden</p><p> <em>Another prediction everyone got right, which is good. Generation NOW is still solid, and they needed a win after a series of losses. This also gave me a chance to measure Raiden's progress after facing lesser competition in Glorious Monsters. Kaori and Nami largely acquited themselves (E+ performances for both vs D- for G-NOW), but that's still not banging down the door to move up the card.</em></p><p> </p><p> Deborah Young def. Thea Davis to qualify for the Body Count Match at Ashes in the Fall</p><p> <em>This was split in the predictions, which is good. I'm glad to see both Deborah's and Thea's popularity growing, as they are both wrestlers I have enjoyed booking in BSC and now DPW. In terms of performance, Deborah was slightly disappointing (D-) given her overness, but her momentum is still rather low relative to everyone else. Thea, though, has turned a corner and put in a personal best of a D+, which is very encouraging given her show stealing ability (this was just a straight regular match road agent note).</em></p><p> </p><p> Sista Kass def. Marie Punnen; Punnen has subsequently been released from the roster</p><p> <em>I guess you can call this a non-swerve swerve. Looking at the stipulation, I can see why most people went for Marie winning. If the performances had been there from Punnen, this probably would have ended with a Rage DQ from Kass or trick DQ from LaRue, but she just hadn't stepped up enough to justify keeping her around (of course, saying that, she put in a personal best of an E performance in this match). Plus, I kind of like LaRue taking on Generations all by herself, even if all three women involved are heels.</em></p><p> </p><p> Yo Ho! def. Ladies Reborn to remain DPW Deuces Wild Tag Team Champions when Sandra Shine awoke from her trace and attacked Roxy Kitten, distracting Charity Dark</p><p> <em>Ah, so everyone had the challengers taking this, and I can't blame you. Everyone's logic was solid in those predictions. I think under the normal booking pace I had in past seasons, that would have been the result, but as you can see, the split of the Ladies got hotshoted (this wasn't the original plan but I like it nonetheless). I agree that Yo Ho! don't necessarily need the belts to be relevant, but do the belts need Yo Ho! to be so? </em><img alt=":D" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> Killer Kathy McMahon retained the DPW Athena Warrior title when her match against Electric Dreamer was thrown out after interference by Queens of the Damned (Queen Amazon and La Hija del Diablo) at the direction of Seduction</p><p> <em>So confession here, I screwed up in the booking of this match. The Athena Warrior title is always supposed to be defended under DQ rules, but I forgot that and had this ending with Electric Dreamer winning by DQ after the interference from Queens of the Damned. So yeah, first time I've done that, so I hope you can forgive me. </em><img alt=":D" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><em> Kathy McMahon was injured in this, but luckily it is not as bad as first feared and is only a strained rotator cuff, putting her on the shelf for 45 days (out for Ashes in the Fall unfortunately).</em></p><p> </p><p> Gorgon def. Claire Winters to qualify for the Body Count Match at Ashes in the Fall</p><p> <em>So another match that was split down the middle in the predictions. With Gorgon already having lost her debut, I felt like she needed this to be taken seriously. Plus, if she punched a wall after finding out she was going to lose to Laura, imagine what she would have done here if she was the one doing the job. </em><img alt=";)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/wink.png.686f06e511ee1fbf6bdc7d82f6831e53.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><em> The good news for Claire is that she really shined in this match (D+ performance vs Gorgon's D) and was neck and neck with Simony for the event's MVP. Now, will that change the booking plans for her? Only time will tell. </em><img alt=":p" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> Kate Avatar def. Simony Sentinel to remain DPW Queen of the Ring</p><p> <em>Ah, and so we come to the best match in DPW's history to date (well, tied with the Bra and Panites match between Yo Ho! and Velvet Revolución, of course). Both wrestlers really delivered thanks to their great chemistry, and with the Regional Battles, this will always be a big factor (thanks again to DarEatWorld for picking Simony to win the Venus Tournament). I really did consider having Simony win the title to complete her arc, but with the Body Count match at the next event, I think Sentinel winning would telegraph her winning that match too (as much as I would like a rematch between the two at Unwanted Gifts). Simony wanting to rid the company of the Queen of the Ring belt is also something I stumbled onto while writing this event, and I like where it can take her dark avenger character going forward.</em></p><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="Dr_Avalanche" data-cite="Dr_Avalanche" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="41787" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><p> Marie Punnen vs <strong>Sista Kass</strong> (if Marie wins, she gets her job back)</p><p> It would be hilarious if Punnen won on a technicality, but can you even convince Kass to eat a loss to someone like Marie?</p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> Excellent question. Kass refusing to lose to anyone (though she's only lost in matches involving Kate) has not been an issue to this point, and I didn't test it here. However, Kass' popularity has never been higher after her destruction of Raven, so it could be a consideration in the future, just saying. <img alt=";)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/wink.png.686f06e511ee1fbf6bdc7d82f6831e53.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="DarEatWorld" data-cite="DarEatWorld" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="41787" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>Card for Heat Check<p> </p><p> Pre-Show:</p><p> <strong>Ariel Breaks</strong> vs Sarah Sparkell</p><p> <em>#NoSparkleAllFade</em></p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> Ha! I do like Dreamer, but I'm at All In All V now, and she hasn't picked up even passable English after being with the company for over a year. She has the star quality to be big, but without being able to deliver her own promos in English with the type of product DPW has, that's always going to hold her back. My guess is the storyline Dreamer has coming up won't change your mind. <img alt=":)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="kingjames" data-cite="kingjames" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="41787" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><p> Where will DPW finish in September's Regional Battle (out of 5)? - <strong>Second</strong>; CZCW is a constant thorn in the side.</p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> CZCW are interesting, very up and down in their monthly scores. <p>I'll loop back around for predictions for Ashes, but I thought I'd talk about the show itself.</p><p> </p><p>

What you've got going with Foxxy is definitely an interesting take on her, and radically (pun not intended, but appropriate) different than other diaries' take on her. The afro and general 1970s vibe does lend itself to an Angela Davis interpretation. DPW has never been afraid to dabble in sex (Yo Ho!) or violence (Kass), but politics is a whole other arena of controversy to be stepping into. I could see GSW going with this storyline, but DPW might find itself getting press it would rather not have.</p><p> </p><p>

The Queens of the Damned, huh? They'll need time to get over, if they can get over the language barrier. But as an established tag team, the tag experience they come in with should help to bump up match grades despite not being able to cut a promo in English.</p><p> </p><p>

Yo Ho! continues to roll along. You know, there's something to be said for Yo Ho! holding the belts, in that it gives a reason for Yo Ho! to always be on the show to defend them. I mean, I can't imagine any storyline of any particular substance to involve them, so having the prop of the tag titles to ensure they always get a spot on the card makes sense. It's not like the tag titles are the focus of storylines like the Athena or Queen of the Ring titles, so using them to keep a highly popular tag team visible seems a reasonable choice.</p><p> </p><p>

A DQ finish in a no DQ match? What, are you running 1999 WCW? <img alt=":p" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /> Not like I haven't goofed up match stipulations. And in some ways, it could serve as fodder for a rematch for Electric Warrior. After all, Seduction's a heel which means she should always be trying to figure out the angles - an Athena title match cannot end except by pinfall or submission, and thus, <em>technically</em>, the match has never ended!</p><p> </p><p>

CZCW is a bit odd in my diary as well. They can pop a 68 one month, then a 58 the next. They seem to be more volatile than most feds when it comes to their monthly scores. Not entirely sure why.</p><p> </p><p>

Great to see that Simony and Kate had the best match in DPW history - particularly since Yo Ho! were the former record setters, no? Given the BSC ancestry, having a sex appeal match be popular is understandable, but you have to think from a story perspective that the reaction to that match has to be confirmation to Kate that DPW is more than just a glorified strip show. The DPW mutants popped for <em>wrestling</em>, a sign that DPW has really cultivated both its workers and its audiences. Of course, if the foreshadowed "everything burns" means DPW is on its way out of business, then having done that will be cold comfort to Kate when she has the reputation of running not one, but two, companies right out of business...</p>

<p>Chapter 33 Interlude: Who's the Boss(Man)?</p><p> </p><p> <em>Earlier that night…</em></p><p> </p><p> </p><p><span>http://i.imgur.com/1Hyvuq0.jpg</span></p><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> Sitting in her home/office at Piper Casino, Kate Avatar tries to focus on the plans for her match with Simony Sentinel this evening, but instead all she can feel is rage. No, not at so many opportunities for female wrestlers disappearing overnight with the sale of NOTBPW to SWF, though that is still in her thoughts.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> When the news broke, Kate could hardly believe that a pillar of Women’s wrestling would no longer exist. Hell Cat should have known something was up when Sara Marie York, ever the consummate professional, asked for her release a month earlier, but such a seismic shift in the industry still came as a shock. Suddenly, wrestlers such as Melody, Lauren Easter, Emma Bitch, and Amber Allen were free agents. </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> As a promoter, Kate should be thrilled by this development, but she can not shake the feeling that this will hurt women in the industry in the long run. Even though one of the sources of potential roster raids has been vanquished, half the written deals for women in North America have gone away, and what leverage will those already in USPW have now, with nowhere else they can go to earn that type of money. Not only that, but so many young girls grew up watching NOTBPW and were inspired to become wrestlers as a result. What if the saccharine nature of USPW’s product doesn’t make them dream in the same way?</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> It </div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><em>was</em></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"> a promising sign that USPW celebrated their victory in the Women Wars by having Joanne Rodriguez and Missy Masterson main event that week’s episode of American Wrestling, but there was no guarantee that USPW would continue to push their female wrestlers now that they had defeated NOTBPW.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> Such chaos would be a prime opportunity for companies like DPW, but unfortunately for Hell Cat, creditors were already nipping at her heels before this news even broke. With seemingly no path to profitability after taking Boss Man Brayfield’s advice on improving the company’s production values, Kate would have to wait for another promotion to take advantage of this situation. </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> And into this void a company did step. As members of the NOTBPW roster were receiving compensation for their terminated contracts, 5SSW quietly sent out word that they would begin offering written contracts befitting of their new cult status in Japan. With money from the promotion’s television deal, Sensational Ogiwara snapped up Tiffany Jade, Steph Blake, Jillian Jarvis, and Amber Allen in one swoop.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> No, this missed opportunity is not the reason Avatar sits behind her desk, stewing with anger. Instead, it is the man sitting across from her, talking away as if he doesn’t know what he did.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><span>http://i.imgur.com/nSUqQGk.jpg</span><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> “So what I’m thinking is just when it looks like Electric Dreamer is going to win, Seduction jumps up…” Jackson ‘Boss Man’ Brayfield sits opposite Hell Cat, his immaculate white suit stretching with his movements as he talks.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> “How do you know Cliff Anderson?” Kate’s volume is low when she speaks, but by the change in Brayfield’s complexion, she knows her consultant heard her loud and clear.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> “Oh, well, you know, when you’ve been in this business as long as I have, you meet anyone and everyone.” </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> “I saw you Jackson.”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> “What?”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> “I saw you, with Cliff after Bitter Harvest. While I've kind of dabbled on the edges of sexism and the treatment of workers in the wrestling industry, this will be the most politically charged storyline I've done. I'm hoping everyone will keep an open mind (I don't have reason to suspect otherwise) as there is a point I want to get across at the end of the storyline, much, much further down the road. Plus, it allows me to channel some of Ursula Saez's criticism of DPW. <img alt=":D" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="kingjames" data-cite="kingjames" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="41787" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><p> The Queens of the Damned, huh? Part of me feels like I've failed her in terms of the write-ups, despite her popularity increasing relatively rapidly in-game. <p>Chapter 33 Flashback: Kindness for Weakness</p><p> </p><p>

<em>Five years earlier…</em></p><p> </p><p>

</p><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">“Hell Cat, a Miss Stardust is here to see you.”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

</div><span>http://i.imgur.com/1Hyvuq0.jpg</span><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Kate Avatar leans over to the intercom on her desk in her plush office at BSC’s headquarters, “Marilyn? Sure, tell her to come in.” </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

“Um…it’s not Marilyn.”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

</div><span>http://i.imgur.com/FkkK5QT.jpg</span><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

The doors to Kate’s office part, and through the threshold steps Gail Ferguson, better known as Anne Stardust, “Hello Kate.”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Hell Cat blinks several times at the sight of the woman standing in front her, almost as if she is seeing a ghost. It has been almost six years since the Seattle Screwjob, and the owner of AAA is the last person Avatar expected to see today, “I’m guessing you’re not here to congratulate me on getting a TV deal for the Strip Show.”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

A slight smirk comes over the lips of Stardust, who remains standing in the shadows, “No, though you do have a lot to be proud of Kate.”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Not being able to tell if her former boss is being sarcastic or not, Hell Cat maintains a defensive posture as the moments of silence pass, “You didn’t have to come all the way down here, you know. You could have just called me.”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

“Like you would have answered.”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

“Fair point, but can you blame me?”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Anne’s eyes narrow and the owner of AAA takes a few steps forward towards Hell Cat, “I didn’t come here to litigate the past, Kate.”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

“Then why are you here?”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

“…mercy. You’ve got your hands firmly around the throat of my company, and it’s not going to be much longer before we go under because of that.”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

“And I’m supposed to care why exactly?”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Reaching Avatar’s desk, Stardust glances towards the empty chair next to her, but doesn’t sit down, “Look Kate, you’ve got every reason to be angry. You got screwed over, and your revenge will be putting AAA out of business. You’ve signed up all the big stars in Women’s wrestling and we can’t match the money you’re able to throw around. Then, you run shows the same nights as ours so even the wrestlers on both of our rosters are forced to choose you over us. Right now, we’re putting on main events with your leftovers, and our crowds are starting to wither because of that. I am asking you to let us up off of the mat, to give us a fighting chance.”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

“Meaning?”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

“Leave one free night a month where you won’t run a show.”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Kate leans back in her chair, “Does Cathy still work for you? Then I think you know my answer.”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

“I’ll admit that Cat has made some, let’s call them, mistakes along the way, but her passion has always been…useful. I won’t say I agree with everything she’s done, but it was all necessary to make sure we survived. You have no idea what it was like building AAA from the ground up; the sneers from the men in this industry. I’ve crawled through a mountain of shit to make it so women don’t have to go through what I went through in the ‘80s.”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

“Gail, I’ve heard this speech a hundred times before at the Cat’s Lair. The fact is Cathy made the biggest mistake of her life six years ago, and AAA deserves to go out of business because of that. If that’s all you got, then I suggest you save your breath and just go.”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Sitting down across from Avatar, Anne holds her hands out in front of BSC’s booker as if in a sign of surrender, “Congratulations then Kate, you’ve killed us. And I’m sure once you’re done dancing on our grave, CWWF and QAW will be next. Then you’ll own the entirety of Women’s wrestling in North America. You’ll get to decide the winners and the losers, who gets famous and who is banished to obscurity. But ask yourself this, what if you’re ever wrong? What if there’s a girl out there you don’t see anything in, but all she needs is some teaching, some guidance. Where is she going to get that from once you’ve put all the rest of us out of business? Should she just give up? Imagine if after we let you go, that BSC didn’t exist, where would you have gone then?”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Hell Cat swivels slightly in her Aeron chair, while Anne senses an opening, “And that’s not even to say what if BSC ever runs into trouble after we’re gone, and goes out of business? You think it can’t happen, but it always could. You know how long it would take before any investors would ever be willing to put money back into Women’s wrestling in this country after that?”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

With her fingers covering her chin, Avatar turns towards the windows that look out on the Las Vegas Strip, “Did you know?”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

“What?” Stardust’s eyebrows arch, taken aback by the low tone in Kate’s voice.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

“Did you know what Cathy was going to do that night?”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Anne fidgets in her seat for several moments before whispering her confession, “…yes.”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Her gaze still focused on the lights outside, Hell Cat remains in silence for nearly three full minutes until she finally responds, “Fine, I’ll give you one night a month BSC free, but in return I want a working agreement with AAA. Brooke Tyler and Sara Marie York won’t work for us because of our product, but if you sign them, then I can bring them in as much as I want.”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

“…Agreed.”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Turning back to face the owner of AAA, Hell Cat does not bother to hide the fire burning in her eyes, “Good, now let’s hope this is the last time we ever have to see each other.”</div><p></p><p>

</p><p><strong>

OOC:</strong> <em>This is the second of the interludes chosen by MisterRomanini as part of the reward for the Bitter Harvest prediction contest. The 'booking shows the day of AAA events' was actually a tactic I used during my BSC game, which I eventually relented on for largely the reasons discussed above. I'd like to think Anne holds a soft-spot for Kate, almost as the one that got away, but when it comes to Ms. Stardust, we can never be too sure of her motivations. </em><img alt=":)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p>

<p>I know it would have not been possible to sim in game unless you forced an edit, but if Kate would have agreed given the stips she laid out plus one......... Powerful backstory though throughout with Kate and AAA.</p>

<p>I like it, but I'm actually a little surprised at Kate's ability to...I guess it's not precisely forgiveness, but an impressive ability to look past how they've treated her. And to me it doesn't even look to me like it is for any idealistic reasons - what Anne says is patently untrue - there is no reason to assume that BSC would feel a need to go after QAW or CWWF the same way they went after AAA and eliminate female wrestlers different employment opportunities. To allow women opportunities industry, it seems to me AAA is not needed. So it becomes all about the backdoor access to a roster full of wrestlers who previously wouldn't work for BSC. It is shrewd, for sure. </p><p> </p><p>

I like it a lot, it tells me a lot about Kate.</p>

Powerful backstory though throughout with Kate and AAA.

Thanks! You know, I thought about putting that in there about Kate wanting Catherine fired, with Anne rejecting that offer. I took it out to keep Kate's motivations more nebulus, but I like to think that Hell Cat doesn't see AAA as a real threat any more (kind of like WWE with WCW in 2000 or even TNA today). This time period (mid-2014) is really peak-BSC, with the company finally having gotten a TV deal and working towards a PPV deal that would bring the cash flowing in (at least that's the way Kate sees it), while none of the main eventers like J-Ro and Jaime Quine having left the company yet.

In Kate's mind, the war has already been won, and maybe there's a way she can get revenge on Catherine by keeping her in AAA (say by maybe eventually buying the company) instead of having her on the open market.

I like it, but I'm actually a little surprised at Kate's ability to...I guess it's not precisely forgiveness, but an impressive ability to look past how they've treated her. And to me it doesn't even look to me like it is for any idealistic reasons - what Anne says is patently untrue - there is no reason to assume that BSC would feel a need to go after QAW or CWWF the same way they went after AAA and eliminate female wrestlers different employment opportunities. It is shrewd, for sure.

I like it a lot, it tells me a lot about Kate.

So one of the difficulties I've had in doing these flashbacks is figuring out how to treat QAW. The company didn't exist in TEW 2010 (at least in this playthrough) so I've largely thought of them as a smallish company that really grew after BSC went under by absorbing the demand for Women's wrestling that Kate helped build.

That said, Kate's goal in building BSC was not just to defeat AAA, but also to build a national then international company built on Women's wrestling. This meant eclipsing USPW and NOTBPW (long-shots, but with the way the company was going at this point, not wholly unrealistic) and treating the other Women's wrestling companies in North America as feeder leagues. They say absolute power corrupts absolutely, so I could see Kate, after having put AAA out of business, becoming a Catherine Quine-like monster and treating QAW and CWWF like little kids, to be crushed if they got out of line.

I like to think that Kate realized from this conversation that maybe monopolies in wrestling aren't really the best thing, especially with how she found such a lack of opportunities after she was fired from AAA. Still, never let a good chance to improve BSC or opportunity to turn the screws go to waste. ;)

Would Anne Stardust done the same thing if the roles were reversed? As far as someone being done on the mat, would she allow a kick out at 2 7/8's? My guess is no

Yeah, definite answer is 'no' there. :D

I think Anne understands that even after everything, Kate still sees her as a legend, and is willing to buy what she is selling as long as she can make it plausible. Makes for interesting possible relationships going forward. :p

<p>Oh, Anne Stardust, you magnificent manipulator. It seems some character traits of Anne Stardust are true no matter which version of reality you happen to be in. For example, whether she's your Anne or mine, she's excellent at taking something with a grain of truth in it - a monopoly over women's wrestling is not a good thing - and then twists it to suit her own purposes.</p><p> </p><p>

Also, A+ excellent follow up after the Brayfield story interlude. The attitude she has in the Brayfield discussion shows that the point Anne made seems to have stuck with Kate, even after all these years - even after BSC collapsed and Kate hit rock bottom. Such is the power of Anne Stardust's rhetoric <img alt="" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/cool.png.f00d2562b2c1d873a09323753efdb041.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p>

The idea of the Girl Next Door, America's Sweetheart, Sara Marie York in BSC is hilarious. I can't help but feel like she'd wind up playing a heel in BSC, like an early Kurt Angle.</p><p> </p><p>

As for Brayfield, he strikes me as one of those dudes in wrestling who always manages to land somewhere, like a Bruce Pritchard. Getting canned by DPW? No biggie, he'll just show up in NYCW or CZCW or somewhere else. Like, it doesn't matter that he's shady as heck. People <em>know</em> he's shady but he's reliably shady, so they hire him anyway, until he goes and gets himself fired and the cycle starts all over again.</p><p> </p><p>

Predictions!</p><p> </p><p>

Card for Ashes in the Fall</p><p> </p><p>

Pre-Show</p><p>

<strong>Monster Ishimura</strong> vs Sarah Sparkell</p><p>

<em>Build up the monster so she can lose to a face after being seen as "unstoppable" is classing booking 101. Poor Sarah can't catch a break.</em></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Claire Winters</strong> vs Gypsy Rose</p><p>

<em>Unless you're jobbing her out the door, since I'm still not certain she isn't leaving DPW.</em></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Charity Dark (w/ Roxy Kitten)</strong> vs Sandra Shine</p><p>

<em>Charity's got the manager and I think a brighter future. I think she's the Michaels to Shine's Janetty.</em></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Emiko Miyoshi</strong> vs Glorious Gloria</p><p>

<em>Wow, sheesh. Gloria's a glorified jobber with excellent theme music. Emiko I've never been high on but I think she's probably more useful than Gloria. I see a real David vs. Goliath story here.</em></p><p> </p><p>

Mud Wrestling Match for the DPW Deuces Wild Tag Team Titles</p><p>

Generation NOW vs <strong>Yo Ho! ©</strong></p><p>

<em>This is like putting Undertaker in a Hell in the Cell match, in terms of Yo Ho! being unstoppable on their "home turf".</em></p><p> </p><p>

Electric Dreamer and ???? vs <strong>Queens of the Damned</strong> (w/ Seduction)</p><p>

<em>I think the Queens get the victory to get off on the right foot as a threat.</em></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>LaRue X</strong> vs Thea Davis</p><p>

<em>An easy victory over the (wo)man for LaRue. I expect much speechifying, maybe even during the match.</em></p><p> </p><p>

Main Event - Body Count Chamber Elimination Match for the DPW Queen of the Ring Title</p><p>

Deborah Young vs Gorgon vs <strong>Kate Avatar ©</strong> vs Laura Flame vs Simony Sentinel vs Sista Kass</p><p>

<em>With creditors swimming like sharks around a sinking boat, I wouldn't be surprised if Kate held onto the belt because she knows that she'll stay, even if the other talent move on to greener pastures. Get a little security there. Though this is more fodder for detractors saying Kate's her own biggest mark and DPW is just a vehicle to get herself over again.</em></p><p><em> </em></p><p><em>

And yes, I know the leak said there would be a new champion. I'm calling a swerve here and Kate rebooks the match. #firerusso</em></p><p> </p><p>

Bonus Points (One Point Each)</p><p>

How many title changes will there be on the show?</p><p>

<em><strong>Zero</strong></em><em> on this one, I think.</em></p><p> </p><p>

Who will be Electric Dreamer's tag team partner in the match against Queens of the Damned?</p><p>

<em>I'm going to think outside of the box and say you picked up another luchadora - </em><em><strong>Aguila Azul Celeste</strong></em><em>, Dreamer's tag partner in OLLIE.</em></p><p> </p><p>

Where will DPW finish in the monthly regional battle (out of four)?</p><p>

<em>I always say </em><em><strong>#2</strong></em><em>, and I am almost always wrong. But here I go and do it again!</em></p><p> </p><p>

What will be the best match of the night?</p><p>

<em><strong>The main event.</strong></em><em> How do you top a six-woman elimination match with that roster, for the title?</em></p><p> </p><p>

What will be LaRue X's new entrance music (just because I'd like to see people's answers)?</p><p>

<em>Let's go classic protest rap - </em><em><strong>"Fight the Power" by Public Enemy</strong></em></p><p> </p><p>

What will be the order of elimination in the main event (One point for each correct answer)?</p><p> </p><p>

First Wreslter Eliminated: <strong>Laura Flame</strong></p><p>

Second Elimination: <strong>Gorgon</strong></p><p>

Third Elimination: <strong>Simony Sentinel</strong></p><p>

Fourth Elimination: <strong>Killer Kass</strong></p><p>

Final Elimination: <strong>Deborah Young</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Tiebreaker (Price is Right Rules)</p><p>

What will be the number grade of the show (last show was 68 with a hot main event)? <em>I think things are slightly cooler this time around - a </em><em><strong>62</strong></em></p>

<p>Card for Ashes in the Fall</p><p> </p><p>

Pre-Show</p><p>

<strong>Monster Ishimura</strong> vs Sarah Sparkell</p><p>

<em>Ishimura needs to do some Monstering occasionally if we're to treat her as such!</em></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Claire Winters</strong> vs Gypsy Rose</p><p>

<em>I've seen no signs that Gypsy is gonna break out anytime soon.</em></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Charity Dark (w/ Roxy Kitten)</strong> vs Sandra Shine</p><p>

<em>Roxy didn't back no loser!</em></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Emiko Miyoshi</strong> vs Glorious Gloria</p><p>

<em>Tougher to call. Whoever wins is nominally getting a shot at improving their lot. Gloria, who is much younger than her render would suggest, has had opportunities before and not really capitalised on them. Maybe it's Emiko's turn.</em></p><p> </p><p>

Mud Wrestling Match for the DPW Deuces Wild Tag Team Titles</p><p>

Generation NOW vs <strong>Yo Ho! ©</strong></p><p>

<em>I feel like maybe we're getting swerved here gentlemen but I can't bet against them either.</em></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Electric Dreamer and ????</strong> vs Queens of the Damned (w/ Seduction)</p><p>

<em>If Dreamer doesn't win this I think she's in trouble as a face. If she gets a kicking here after getting double-crossed by her manager last time out... it's a long way back from there.</em></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>LaRue X</strong> vs Thea Davis</p><p>

<em>I'm happier with LaRue as a heel and can't see her push derailing here.</em></p><p> </p><p>

Main Event - Body Count Chamber Elimination Match for the DPW Queen of the Ring Title</p><p>

Deborah Young vs Gorgon vs <strong>Kate Avatar ©</strong> vs Laura Flame vs Simony Sentinel vs Sista Kass</p><p>

<em>Hmmm... it's tough to call but I feel like Kate is definitely the most over at the moment.</em></p><p> </p><p>

Bonus Points (One Point Each)</p><p>

How many title changes will there be on the show? <strong>0</strong></p><p>

Who will be Electric Dreamer's tag team partner in the match against Queens of the Damned? <strong>Velvet Suarez is a good shout.</strong></p><p>

Where will DPW finish in the monthly regional battle (out of four)? <strong>Going with second again.</strong></p><p>

What will be the best match of the night? <strong>Surely the main event?!</strong></p><p>

What will be LaRue X's new entrance music (just because I'd like to see people's answers)? <strong>I have no clue. I suspect there is nothing in my vast record collection that would fit the bill anyway... uh... something by Bodycount?</strong></p><p>

What will be the order of elimination in the main event (One point for each correct answer)?</p><p>

First Wreslter Eliminated:<strong>Flame</strong></p><p>

Second Elimination: <strong>Young</strong></p><p>

Third Elimination: <strong>Gorgon</strong></p><p>

Fourth Elimination: <strong>Kass</strong></p><p>

Final Elimination: <strong>Simony</strong></p><p>

Tiebreaker (Price is Right Rules)</p><p>

<p><strong>Guess I better get something in. Been a long week with the flu but here goes</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Card for Ashes in the Fall</p><p> </p><p>

Pre-Show</p><p>

<strong>Monster Ishimura</strong> vs Sarah </p><p>

I really want to pick the upset. The monster has done nothing so far and has no stamina. Sarah get on the bike and wear her out. I might change this pick yet before the show.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Claire Winters</strong> vs Gypsy Rose</p><p>

No upset here</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Charity Dark (w/ Roxy Kitten)</strong> vs Sandra Shine</p><p>

Going with the heel here but curious of why the breakup occurred unless someone is leaving</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Emiko Miyoshi</strong> vs Glorious Gloria</p><p>

Have to admit I laughed at the comment about Gloria avatar looking older than she is. She looks 50 and moves like it.</p><p> </p><p>

Mud Wrestling Match for the DPW Deuces Wild Tag Team Titles</p><p>

<strong>Generation NOW</strong> vs Yo Ho! ©</p><p>

Are there any rules in mud wrestling? This has all the makings of major shenanigans and will likely be the highest rated match on the show</p><p> </p><p>

Electric Dreamer and ???? vs <strong>Queens of the Damned</strong> (w/ Seduction)</p><p>

Again going with the heels with the manager</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>LaRue X</strong> vs Thea Davis</p><p>

LaRue can't make that debut last show and then lay an agg</p><p> </p><p>

Main Event - Body Count Chamber Elimination Match for the DPW Queen of the Ring Title</p><p>

Deborah Young vs Gorgon vs Kate Avatar © vs Laura Flame vs <em><strong>Simony</strong></em><em> </em><em><strong>Sentinel</strong></em> vs Sista Kass</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Simony becomes a two time Queen of the ring in a major upset. The think the champ has to be a face as there are a lot of good heel challengers</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Bonus Points (One Point Each)</p><p>

How many title changes will there be on the show? <strong>2</strong></p><p>

Who will be Electric Dreamer's tag team partner in the match against Queens of the Damned? <strong>I'm going to say Velvet simply because I don't know anyone in Ollie honestly and can the company afford to bring someone else in?</strong></p><p>

Where will DPW finish in the monthly regional battle (out of four)? <strong>2</strong></p><p>

What will be the best match of the night? <strong>Main event</strong></p><p>

What will be LaRue X's new entrance music (just because I'd like to see people's answers)? <strong>Ah I don't have a good feel for today's music so I'll go old school. Decided it won't be "Girls just wanna have fun" or "Don't worry be Happy" so I'll say "Bad to the Bone"</strong></p><p>

What will be the order of elimination in the main event (One point for each correct answer)?</p><p>

First Wreslter Eliminated: <strong>Flame</strong></p><p>

Second Elimination: <strong>Gorgon</strong></p><p>

Third Elimination: <strong>young</strong></p><p>

Fourth Elimination: <strong>Kass</strong></p><p>

Final Elimination: <strong>Kate</strong></p><p>

Tiebreaker (Price is Right Rules)</p><p>

What will be the number grade of the show <strong>63</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>I hate picking Flame to be first out honestly, but I can't see Gorgon going out first. I don't have a feel for Gorgon so she is out next, then Deb. Kate and Simony double team Kass to eliminate her and that leaves Simony and Kate. Was the article all a swerve on Bossman or was there some truth? Besides my predictions are heel heavy so have to have a face winning the main event</strong></p><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong>

I don't feel real confident in my choices so good job with the story telling Mr Wolf </strong></p>

Pre-Show Match #1: Monster Ishimura vs Sarah Sparkell

VS
http://i.imgur.com/OKb0Trl.jpg

The early arrivers do not seem enthused for this match-up as the action begins, but after the first two minutes, the fans start to become engaged in Sarah’s struggle against her much larger opponent. Perhaps it is Sparkell’s Sisyphus-like desire to keep charging at the immovable Ishimura, or that the 284-pound wrestler is finally presented as a devastating monster, hitting only a few painful looking power moves, but the match ends up being much more entertaining than it probably deserves to be.

With Sarah carrying the bulk of the workload for the five minutes of battle, Ishimura also manages not to get winded during the contest. As Sparkell tries to tire out the beast, Monster picks the Cat’s Lair graduate up for a body slam, then splashes onto Sarah with all her weight for the pin.

Pre-Show Match #2: Claire Winters vs Gypsy Rose

http://i.imgur.com/653dfkJ.jpg

Being that this is DPW’s second biggest event of the year, one would not be surprised if Claire Winters felt some twinge of disrespect at being relegated to a warm-up act on the pre-show, despite her recent string of great performances. If the Ice Woman bears any of this sentiment, she does not show it as she expertly runs her nineteen-year-old opponent through the paces.

For once, Gypsy is not terrible in her performance, showing that she has at least learned something over her past two years with DPW. It helps that her main duty in this match is to act as Claire’s punching bag, and after seven minutes of decent action, Winters forces Rose to submit to the Ice Breaker.

Show Opening:

The video screen cuts to a shot following Phil Vibert as he walks down the halls backstage at Piper Casino. Bursting through the door marked ‘Locker Room,’ Vibert sends several members of the roster scattering from view, the wrestlers being in various stages of undress in preparation for the evening’s matches. Only Joanna Silver and Polly Amorous don’t seem to mind the attention, the tag team champions flaunting their naked bodies in front of the camera to the titillation of the audience.

http://i.imgur.com/lGDXjoF.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/oMX9Z9a.jpg

With a look of disgust towards Yo Ho!, Phil continues on his journey until he reaches the locker of Kate Avatar, and the Queen of the Ring turns to meet the approaching footsteps.

“That was a hell of a speech you gave at the end of Heat Check, Kate, and I’m sure you can’t wait for the Body Count match to start,” a condescending smirk emerges on the lips of Vibert, and he glances over at the title belt hung in Kate’s locker.

http://i.imgur.com/1Hyvuq0.jpg

“Phil, what the hell?! You can’t be back here!” Hell Cat is already fully dressed in her ring gear, but the indignation from this intrusion is still clear in her voice.

“This is my company and I go where I damn please. I’m here because there’s something you should know. I told you there are consequences for defying me, but it looks like you still haven’t gotten the message. Just so you aren’t caught off-guard, your little effort at taunting me means that tonight, you’re the first entrant in the chamber. Good luck out there, champ,” after a scoff, Vibert pivots and leaves the locker room the way he came in, while in the background, Kate seethes with frustration.

Match #1: Charity Dark (w/ Roxy Kitten) vs Sandra Shine

http://i.imgur.com/YktNqrZ.jpg
VS
http://i.imgur.com/kq95o5v.jpg

Given its placement on the card, this match-up between Charity and Sandra disappoints slightly as an opener, failing to take advantage of the hot crowd by focusing on high spots instead of regular wrestling.

With the crowd not quite ready to boo the still entranced Dark, Sandra has an uphill climb in getting the fans behind her. The screaming Roxy helps, though, as the audience is able to focus their anger at the Ladies Reborn being split up on the BSC Original.

Going all out to put on the best match possible, Shine and Charity fly around the ring, showing off their high stamina by never stopping for a rest hold or breather. When a superplex from Charity fails to yield a win, the blonde goes back to the top rope for a Sugar Smack, but Sandra leaps to her feet and catches Dark off-guard for the Rise and Shine hurricanrana. As Kitten yells from the floor, the referee gets down to count…

…1

…2

…but Charity kicks out.

Deciding she has seen enough, Roxy jumps up to the ring apron and curses at Sandra. Shine shifts her attention to Kitten, and charges at her former enslaver. A smile coming over her lips, Roxy ducks at the last second, sending Shine flying over the top rope and crashing to the floor from her own momentum.

It takes only one point to the top turnbuckle for Charity to obey her manager’s command, and with a thousand-yard stare still in her eyes, Dark hits her former tag team partner with a Sugar Smack on the hard theater floor. The mixed emotions of the audience come out in a pop of appreciation for this death-defying maneuver and disappointment at the outcome, as Charity rolls a motionless Shine back into the ring for the pin.

A cackling Roxy skips into the ring, and raises the hand of her hypnotized client to a round of boos. Kitten immediately goes over to Dark’s fallen opponent to curse out Sandra. After calling Shine every name in the book, the BSC Original gives a stiff kick to the blonde’s ribs, but when Roxy goes to pull her foot back, she finds an awaken Sandra has taken hold of it.

To cheers, Shine quickly rises to her feet and sends Kitten flying with a belly-to-belly suplex. Charity lunges at her former tag team partner in defense of her manager, but Sandra blocks the blow then wags her finger in Dark’s face. Before Charity can defend herself, she is flipped over from a Rise and Shine hurricanrana.

Bailing to the floor, Sandra nods towards the applauding fans, then points to the ceiling as she shouts thanks to “the Higher Power.”

From inside Vibert’s office, Sista Kass is shown walking through the door, her face already contorted in anger for having to deal with this annoyance.

http://i.imgur.com/58rAAIL.jpg

“Ah, Kass, here to draw your entry number for the Body Count match?” Phil’s mockingly jovial tone does nothing to brighten the mood of the 240-pound wrestler standing in front of him. Kass reaches into the hat on Vibert’s desk and selects one of the five available pieces of paper.

“Seriously?!” the behemoth turns her piece of paper towards the camera to reveal the number two.

“Hey, luck of the draw. I’m sure you’ll be fine.”

Kass’ breathing intensifies as she moves towards Phil and looms over the owner of DPW, “After that stunt you pulled in the locker room earlier, you’re lucky I don’t break you in half. You’re lucky I’m gonna win this thing tonight, otherwise it’d be your ass!”

Tossing her entrance number onto Vibert’s lap, Kass storms out of the office, nearly ripping the door from its hinges as she slams it shut.

Match #2: Emiko Miyoshi vs Glorious Gloria

http://i.imgur.com/7A68NMO.jpg
VS
http://i.imgur.com/piZUmbD.jpg

While not the greatest exhibition of wrestling ever, this contest between Emiko and Gloria at least demonstrates that a clearly defined heel versus a likable face ensures action that the crowd will feel invested in.

With the audience fully backing her, Miyoshi puts in her best showing yet, even though those same fans don’t appear to fully believe that the Japanese Cruiserweight can win.

Falling into her usual role as the bully, Gloria tries to overpower Emiko, but finds her opponent always just out of reach due to Miyoshi’s speed. After avoiding a third attempt at the Glorious Full Nelson, the small Japanese wrestler tries to land a springboard back elbow to her opponent’s head, but the former bodybuilder reverses the attack into a sidewalk slam.

Now firmly with the advantage, Gloria works over Emiko’s body, all while Monster Ishimura patrols on the outside. When fans start to clap for Miyoshi to break out of a headlock, Ishimura stands in front of the most vocal to block their view.

Despite Monster’s efforts, the crowd’s energy still manages to pump up Emiko, and the Japanese Cruiserweight powers to her feet and elbows Gloria in the head until the former bodybuilder finally lets go.

As the match approaches the seven-minute mark, Gloria clubs Miyoshi across the back, then finally locks in the Glorious Full Nelson. Emiko struggles to break free as her body is swung back and forth, while the former bodybuilder confidently declares that victory is near.

Just when it appears Miyoshi will pass out to Gloria’s finisher, she uses her last burst of energy to flip herself and her opponent over. In the twisted mess of limbs, the former bodybuilder’s shoulders are pinned to the mat, and the audience pops as the referee slaps the mat for the third time.

Winner via Pinfall: Emiko Miyoshi

Match Rating: E+

</DIV>

Glorious Gloria is nearly as shocked by Emiko’s win as the crowd, and the former bodybuilder copes by lashing out at the celebrating Japanese Cruiserweight. Sending Miyoshi to the mat with a Full Nelson slam, Gloria is joined in her beatdown by Monster Ishimura and both women stomp away on Emiko’s small frame.

http://i.imgur.com/FnQ2qa4.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/CgpxqGh.jpg

Just when it seems like this assault will never end, Kaori Mochizuki and Nami Genda run down the ramp sans music. This lack of pomp allows the tag team to blindside Glorious Monsters, and even the 284-pound Ishimura is sent tumbling over the top rope by a Raiden double-team.

While Genda checks on Emiko, Kaori stands watch, pointing back at a furious Gloria while the former bodybuilder and Ishimura retreat backstage.

In what appears to be the basement of Piper Casino, a solitary figure is shown sitting crossed-legged on the concrete floor. The camera pans around to reveal Killer Kathy McMahon, whose left arm is in a sling. In Kathy’s right hand is a headless doll, which absorbs all of her attention until Ariel Breaks appears, descending the stairs in the background.

http://i.imgur.com/FOATvSe.jpg

“Kathy, are you down here?” Ariel calls out as she scans the dimly light room. The head of McMahon perks up, but she does not turn to face her tag team partner.

Walking into the darkness, Breaks treads carefully until she almost steps onto Kathy, “Jesus, there you are. You had me worried sick. Ever since your injury you’ve been…” Ariel cuts her sentence short, having spied the decapitated doll in the hand of the Athena Warrior.

With McMahon remaining in silence, Breaks circles around her tag team partner so she can look her in the face, “Kathy…why, why do you still have that?”

With a disturbing smile, McMahon lets the doll fall to the dirty floor then stands up, “Everyone else always leaves.”

Back in the theater, M.I.A.’s
pumps through the sound system, bringing out Selina Svelte and Hoshiko Tagawa to boos. Generation NOW survey the jeering crowd for a few moments until Selina holds up a microphone.

“The only reason we decided to even grace you Neanderthals with our presence is because we have been robbed and cheated of what is rightfully ours!”

Tagawa nods towards her tag team partner before lifting up her own microphone to let out her accented rage, “The fact that two women like Joanna Silver and Polly Amorous hold the Deuces Wild titles is a disgrace! They are a pathetic joke, and that their names get to be next to ours in the DPW record books makes me want to puke!”

Mocking vomiting, Svelte opens her mouth to speak again, but is cut off as
begins to play.

http://i.imgur.com/lGDXjoF.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/oMX9Z9a.jpg

Bouncing onto the stage with the Deuces Wild belts strapped around their chests, Joanna and Polly gyrate for their cheering fan club before turning their attention to Generation NOW.

Smiling innocently towards Svelte and Tagawa, Polly speaks in excited tones, “Selina and Hoshi, we love a good tumble as much as the next girl, so there’s nothing we’d like better than to have a match against you two right here, right now. We’ve gotten permission from Phil Vibert to give you another shot at the tag titles, but it’s going to be on our terms.”

With a wave of her hand, Silver motions towards the casino staffers dragging a tub full of brown liquid from the side entrance of the theater, “If it is a battle for we gold ye two wenches seek, in the mud it shall be!”

Match #3: Generation NOW vs Yo Ho! © – Mud Wrestling Match for the DPW Deuces Wild Tag Team Titles

While Yo Ho! immediately jump into the pool to hoots from the crowd, Selina and Hoshiko plead their case to the referee at the ridiculousness of asking them to fight in a vat of mud.

“Do you know who we are?!” Svelte shouts at Gregory Chapman, but before she can receive an answer, Joanna sneaks up behind her and tosses the blonde into the brown liquid.

Her face covered in mud, Selina bobs up from the viscous fluid and cries out with indignation, but this quickly changes to disgust as some of the liquid gets in her mouth.

Seeing her partner on the verge of being double-teamed, Tagawa makes the leap into the pool, splashing Yo Ho! in the face before landing punches to the heads of the tag team champions.

With all four combatants now engaged, the action picks up, but never moves past first gear, giving the crowd plenty of eye candy as they get a breather before the more intense matches still to come.

As the contest progresses, Selina, in full ring gear, has a hard time keeping her footing as her boots slip in the viscous sludge. With her tag team partner off her game, Hoshiko steps up, delivering the bulk of Generation NOW’s offense to Yo Ho!.

With Joanna and Polly on their heels, Tagawa takes the absurdity of the match even further, fully stripping her opponents of their bikini bottoms if for no other reason than to humiliate them. Unfortunately for Hoshiko, being naked from the waist down only seems to energize the champions, and soon the Japanese technician finds herself on the receiving end of a Bronco Buster from Amorous that further blurs the line between wrestling and pornography.

Selina finally manages to steady herself upright as she looks to come to her partner’s aid, but Silver grabs the blonde for a Sex Factor, and after Svelte goes face-first into the slop, the pirate rolls her over for the 1 – 2 – 3.

While Generation NOW struggle to free themselves from the pit of mud, Joanna and Polly easily stand with their brown-covered bodies proudly displayed for all to see.

After being handed the Deuces Wild belts, Yo Ho! gyrate wildly on the titles and then each other, much to the delight of the crowd. A few lucky members of the champions’ fan club even get lap dances from Silver and Amorous, leaving the clothes of these howling adult males stained with mud.

The camera follows Laura into the office, where Vibert sits behind his desk with his arms behind his head, “If it isn’t John Pathlow’s adopted daughter. You know, I tried over and over again to get Hell Monkey into DAVE when he was just starting out, but he always turned me down.”

“Dad’s always been a smart one.”

Vibert lets out a slight scoff, but his tone remains jovial, “Like father, like daughter. Well, you’re here to draw your entrance number for the chamber, so no moment like the present.”

Walking over to the outstretched hat clenched between Phil’s fingers, Flame makes her selection, “Six!” Laura can not help but let out a squeal of joy at finding she will be the last wrestler to enter the chamber, but she quickly tries to regain her composure while Vibert looks on smiling.

“I would tell you good luck, but it looks like you’re not going to need it,” Phil punctuates his statement by giving Flame a wink, which the former Queen of the Ring tries to shake off as she makes her way out of the office and into the hallway.

Queen Amazon steps forward to speak, while La Hija del Diablo lets out a high-pitched snicker in background, “Dreamer, you can run, but you can’t hide. With Seduction and the Queens of the Damned now in the ring, Sia’s

For the bilingual contingent in the audience, they have no problem understanding the white and gold-clad wrestler’s vow to make the Queens of the Damned pay for costing her a chance to become the Athena Warrior, but for those that only speak English, the meaning of Dreamer’s words is largely lost.

The more impatient in the crowd even respond to Dreamer’s statements with bursts of “What?!” to which the luchadora does not seem to know how to handle.

Cutting her promo short, Dreamer announces her partner for the evening as “La Guerrera Púrpura” to the sounds of

VS
http://i.imgur.com/3lSWaab.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/R4b2swy.jpg

The lack of fan enthusiasm for the previous segment quickly washes away as Electric Dreamer begins the match against La Hija del Diablo with a series of acrobatic moves the draw several ‘Oooooh’s’ from the crowd. Showing a new level of intensity as she fights against the member of Queens of the Damned, there is an edge to Dreamer’s offense as the luchadora looks to inflict as much pain as possible onto the smaller wrestler.

With all the momentum on her side, the white and gold-clad wrestler looks to finish off La Hija with an early E.M.P., but Queen Amazon enters the ring and knocks Dreamer down before she can connect with the move.

Crawling to her corner, Dreamer tags in Velvet Suarez, who marks the signs of cross on herself before facing off against the now legal Amazon.

Her power and size contrasting well with the three high-fliers in the match, Amazon is impressive in her debut as she tosses Velvet around the ring. From the outside, Seduction shouts invective, which adds to the heat her new clients are able to draw from the fans.

Continuing at a frenetic pace for another nine minutes, the action brings the audience to their feet when the Queens of the Damned hit the legal Suarez with Damnation from the top turnbuckle to the theater floor below.

Already celebrating her team’s impending victory, Amazon does not see an enraged Electric Dreamer charging into the ring, the white and gold-clad luchadora sending both herself and her rival tumbling over the top rope with a spear that causes the pair to land on La Hija del Diablo as she stands over the fallen Velvet.

With bodies entwined in a scene of carnage on the outside, the referee begins his count, and despite Seduction’s pleading with her new clients, neither team is able to rise before Gregory Chapman shouts out “Ten!”

Match ended in a double-count out at 9:35

As the bell rings out, Queen Amazon struggles to her feet and recovers her wits while surveying the scene in front of her. With Seduction screaming for revenge, Amazon pushes past her manager and digs under the ring for a table. Setting up the plank on the floor, Queen Amazon grabs the still unconscious Suarez and lays her flat on the wooden surface.

Now joined by a recovered La Hija, Amazon gives a swift kick to the ribs of a stirring Dreamer before lifting up the luchadora for the Amazonian Powerbomb. With Dreamer unable to fight back, she finds herself slammed into Velvet, both women crashing through the table while the Queens of the Damned stand triumphant next to their shrieking manager.

“Deborah, good of you to make it. There’s only one number left, so it looks like you’ll be fourth into the chamber,” with the camera set up behind Phil, Deborah Young is shown standing in the doorway of Vibert’s office.

Without uttering a word, Deborah walks towards Phil’s desk and grabs the solitary piece of paper from the overturned baseball cap. Her eyes narrowed, Young looks down at her entry number, then back up at Vibert.

Thea Davis strolls onto the stage with a microphone in hand, a look of supreme confidence on her face.

“Foxxy, Foxxy, Foxxy. You think you can just waltz on in here and lecture me? You go around telling everyone how unfair life is because you’re black? Try being the smartest person in a town full of morons!” Thea sneers at the crowd, expecting to draw her usual heat, but is caught slightly off-guard as a small portion of the audience cheers her taunt.

“Ehem…so listen here,
Foxxy
, just to be fair, I told Sista Kass to stay in the back during our match. Not like I need help to beat your, how does the American perversion of the English language go? Oh yes, ratchet arse!”

Taking her time as she walks down the ramp, Davis opens her mouth to continue her rant, but is cut off as Beyoncé’s

Match #5: LaRue X vs Thea Davis

http://i.imgur.com/Eo5Rf9H.jpg
VS
http://i.imgur.com/BtwT5LL.jpg

Referee Gregory Chapman calls for the bell to start the match as soon as the two warring wrestlers fight their way through the ropes and onto the mat. Despite the heel vs heel dynamic, the crowd can not help but be sent buzzing by the non-stop action unfolding in front of them.

With LaRue and Thea being masters of stealing the show, each woman seeks to outdo the other in a series of ‘can you top this’ moves. While Davis athletically twists and turns to land stiff kicks, LaRue falls back on her brawling style to punish her opponent’s head with constant punches.

LaRue even seems to be gaining the advantage, until Thea trips her up with a drop toe hold. Standing over her temporarily downed foe, Davis yells mockingly, “Is that all you got
Foxxy
?!”

Picking herself off of the mat, LaRue’s eyes are wide as she stares down Thea. After a kick to the gut, the former QAW star lands an uppercut square on Davis’ chin.

“What’s my name?!” LaRue cries out, but receives no answer from the rising Thea. The next exchange sees LaRue drop Davis with a right hook, then yelling, “I said, what’s my mutha f*ckin’ name?!”

With blood trickling from her swollen lip, the now-standing Davis smiles before replying, “Foxxy.”

Full of rage, LaRue swings again, but this time Thea is ready, and springs her trap. A shot to the ribs doubles over LaRue, and Davis follows up with a DDT that leaves her foe down and out.

With supreme confidence, Thea ambles to the ropes, and casually shouts, “Off…with her ‘ead!” When the Englishwoman runs to her rising opponent, however, she finds LaRue more wily than she anticipated. Instead of fully standing up, LaRue senses her oncoming opponent, and drops down in the splits to avoid Davis’ Axe Kick.

Running past her foe, Thea awkwardly brings her leg down against nothing but air to complete her finisher. When the Englishwoman turns back around in disbelief, she is met with Black Power (Rock Bottom) from LaRue that earns the debuting wrestler the win.

Wiping the sweat from her forehead, LaRue X watches Thea roll out of the ring while the audience applauds the effort just given by both women.

“Shut up! I don’t need your applause, you white-bread sons a’ bitches!” LaRue screams into a microphone. With the crowd still buzzing from the match, the brawler spots a cheering white woman in the front row, who just so happens to be wearing an old QAW ‘Foxxy Lady’ shirt.

Heading to the floor to get in the face of the fan, LaRue makes a wide sweeping motion with her arm towards Davis, who stands on the ramp, still collecting herself after her defeat, “You see that! You see what a joke she is! Well that’s nothing compared to the joke you are! You dare cheer for me while wearing that shirt?! You think you’re making some noble statement? You think that makes you some warrior for social justice? All that does is make me sick.
We
don’t need your sympathy. We’re smarter than you, faster than you, and sure as shit better looking. So believe me when I say this, you better take that shirt off right now, or I’m gonna take it from you.”

The now booing crowd wrapped around her finger, LaRue gets nose to nose with the fan, but just when it looks like the brawler is rearing back for a punch, Davis rushes in and enacts her revenge with an Axe Kick to the back of her rival’s neck.

While referee Gregory Chapman pushes Thea towards the back to prevent any further fighting, LaRue climbs back to her feet with a strange smile on her face.

For each wrestler in the match, a compilation of clips displaying their most well-known moves is shown, with each worker getting relatively equal time. Despite being the second entrant in the Body Count match, Sista Kass appears on the stage first. As the opening beats of
bounce off of the theater walls, a long stream of sparklers pour down on to the silhouette of Kass below.

With her head bobbing to the music, Kass rips down the hood of her boxing robe and breathes out smoke from her enflamed nostrils.

“I’m winning this shit, whether you people like it or not!” the behemoth roars as she makes her way down the ramp, and based on how even the most vociferous in the crowd wither under her intense glare, none of the fans have the courage to disagree with her.

While Kass enters the chamber, Kate Avatar walks out to White Zombie’s
and a massive pop. Holding the Queen of the Ring belt high above her head, Hell Cat stokes the cheers of the fans with her free hand.

Before Kate can lift her microphone up to speak, the lights in the theater flicker, and the video screen fills with static.

“Kate Avaaaatar…” as a distorted voice hisses through the theater’s sound system, the static on the screen trembles with the pitch of each word, “She gave me five years…I’ll give you the same. Enjoy the time you have left, because at the end of it, I’ll be waiting.”

The video screen shuts off and the lights return to full brightness, while Hell Cat remains on the stage, just as perplexed as the crowd.

In an act of defiance, Kate shakes off thoughts about just what the disembodied voice meant to hold her microphone up high and yell, “My name is Kate Avatar, and I’m here to raise hell!”

Once a casino staffer closes the chamber door behind Kate and the referee calls for the bell, a countdown clock held by the timekeeper begins to tick down the two minutes until the next entrant in the match is allowed to join in.

Reigniting their feud from earlier in the year, Hell Cat and Kass take full advantage of the time they are given alone to deliver as much punishment as they can to one another. Each wrestler looks to connect with their finisher, but are thwarted by last second counters.

With the chamber walls extending past the ring, Kate and Kass spill to the outside and take turns slamming each other’s heads into the chain-linked structure, a slight cut opening over Avatar’s right eyebrow in the process.

The fans greet Simony Sentinel’s first appearance on the night with loud cheers, but the Violent Violet looks less than enthused at the prospect of entering the chamber, and she slowly approaches the ring while watching Kate and Kass fight with a look of disapproval on her face.

Once the casino staffer opens the chamber door to let Simony in, she hurries over to the still fighting pair, “Stop! Don’t you see?! This is what it wants!”

After throwing Kate into the chamber wall, Kass turns her attention to Sentinel, paying no heed to the Violent Violet’s words to send the purple haired wrestler end over end with a clothesline. While Avatar gets to her feet, Kass picks up Simony and slams her to the theater floor with Kill Switch. With the crowd booing, the behemoth covers Sentinel and Hell Cat just watches as Kass gets the pin.

*Elimination #1: Simony Sentinel (by Sista Kass)*

When Kass rises, Kate tries to take advantage with a blindside attack, but the 240-pound wrestler swats the punch away and counters with one of her own as the next entrant makes her way down the ramp, past the staffers helping an unconscious Simony to the back.

To the sounds of
, Deborah Young makes her presence known as soon as she enters the chamber. Due to the online leak from the previous month, the crowd fully expects Young to win the belt in this match, and her early showing gives them no reason to doubt this.

After Kass powerbombs Kate directly onto the ring apron, she turns around right into the face of Deborah. The fans cheer as the two get nose to nose, and then the brawl is on. Getting the better of Kass, Young is joined by a recovered Hell Cat as the two double-team the member of Generations, until a

Gorgon confidently steps into the chamber after making her way from backstage, and goes right to work attacking Kate from behind. The four women fight into the ring, the chaos bringing the fans to their feet as each wrestler searches in vain for an opening to eliminate one of the competitors.

After two minutes of this stalemate,
plays to a pop, and Laura Flame strides onto the stage with Claire Winters by her side. Laura surveys the cheering crowd, then turns to Claire and tells her tag team partner to head to the back to keep the fight a fair one. Winters initially hesitates, but relents after Flame gives her a reassuring nod.

With a yell, the redhead charges towards the ring, and once she passes through the door, unleashes a hail of Flame Fire Kicks. Sista Kass is felled, then Gorgon, and next Kate to a mixed, but loud, reaction. Before Young can defend herself, Laura lunges out and connects with her foot to the 248-pound wrestler’s jaw. Having her pick among her downed foes, Flame covers Deborah.

*Elimination #2: Deborah Young (by Laura Flame)*

The audience stands in stunned silence at Deborah’s unexpected elimination, and when Laura turns her attention to the remaining competitors in the match, Young gets back to her feet, her body shaking with rage.

As Flame measures a rising Gorgon for another Kick, Deborah clubs the redhead across the back, then lifts her up for a Devastator in the middle of the ring. Young lets out a satisfied snort as Laura’s body hits the canvas, and while Deborah makes her exit out the chamber door, Gorgon takes advantage of the situation by covering the knocked-out Flame.

*Elimination #3: Laura Flame (by Gorgon)*

With the double-team tables turned on her, Kate gets to her feet to find Kass and Gorgon ready to attack. Using every move in repertoire to keep her opponents at bay, Hell Cat barely stays alive, but with the fans cheering her on, she finds the strength to endure, even with blood now running down her face from the widened wound on her forehead.

Growing tired of the battle, Gorgon tells Kass she is going to get a chair from under the ring, and when she returns, Kass has finally knocked Kate to the mat with a solid right hook. The 240-pound wrestler reaches down to pick Avatar up for Kill Switch, but crashes to the canvas after a chair shot to the head from Gorgon.

Smiling at the brilliance of her sneak attack, Gorgon tosses the chair aside and covers Kass for the elimination.

*Elimination #4: Sista Kass (by Gorgon)*

While Kass rolls out of the ring to collect herself, Gorgon lumbers over to Avatar, lifting the Queen of the Ring up for the Hydra Bomb and connecting. Before she can pin the champion, Kass reenters the ring and roars.

Gorgon barely has a second before she is bowled over by the behemoth, and Kass brings the bulky lightweight back to her feet just to toss her across the ring with a release German suplex. Kate recovers to survey the scene, but then finds herself being thrust into the air by Kass for a Kill Switch. Just for good measure, Kass hits Hell Cat with another powerbomb, then does the same to Gorgon.

Leaving this carnage behind, Kass finally exits the ring, while the referee begins his ten count for the downed competitors still in the match.

Turning their attention back to the ring, the audience finds neither Kate nor Gorgon moving on the mat.

Referee Gregory Chapman signals for the bell at the double knock-out, which is met by boos from the fans.

Making a beeline for the ring, Phil Vibert ignores the mixed reaction he receives from the crowd as he orders a staffer to open the chamber door. Once inside, Phil reaches down and grabs the discarded steel chair from the mat before confronting the referee.

“This match doesn’t end that way! One of these women must be eliminated!” Using the weapon in his hands for emphasis and intimidation, Vibert finds Gregory Chapman a receptive audience, and the referee shouts to the timekeeper that the match will continue.

While the earlier decision is reversed, Kate gets to her feet, still woozy from Kass’ assault. Before Hell Cat can ask what is going on, Phil turns and clocks her over the head with the chair.

The crowd gasps, then boos as Vibert curses out Avatar. Not done, Phil tries to wake up Gorgon, but finding the bulky lightweight unresponsive, drags the wrestler to the still motionless Hell Cat and drapes her arm over the champion.

The referee hesitates for a moment, but after receiving an order from Vibert to count the pin, slaps the mat three times to give Gorgon the win.

</div>

The fans grow hoarse as they boo the result, the jeers only growing as Gorgon is awarded the Queen of the Ring title and taunts the crowd with shouts of “This is what I deserve!”

Phil Vibert remains standing in the chamber as the new champion exits, his arms crossed and a satisfied smirk across his face. That is, until he turns around into a recovered Kate Avatar. Slightly bigger than Vibert, a bloodied Hell Cat appears to tower over the smaller man, her rage fueling the rapid rise and fall of her chest.

Clenching her fists tight, Kate’s veins seem like they will explode from her taut muscles at any moment. Staring into the wide-eyes of the just deposed Queen of the Ring, Phil holds out his palms as if to ask for mercy, but the smirk remains on his lips, “I told you not to mess with me Ka…”

Before Vibert can finish, Hell Cat scoops him up and brings him crashing down with the Dark Phoenix Driver. The crowd explodes into cheers at this act of revenge, while Kate remains standing over Phil’s fallen body as the show comes to a close.

Prediction Contest Results

While I'll have to card for Unwanted Gifts and the next prediction contest up later today, I figured everyone would want to know the results of the prediction contest.

1st Place - Dr_Avalanche: 31 points (12 points from Ashes in the Fall) – Congrats on getting the main event correct! I wasn’t sure if anyone would. :p

2nd Place - DarEatWorld: 29 points (10 points from Ashes in the Fall)

3rd Place - Theheel: 28 points (11 points from Ashes in the Fall) – thanks for playing despite being sick; I hope you feel better!

4th Place - kingjames: 24 points (9 points from Ashes in the Fall)

5th Place - MisterRomanini: 8 points

Congrats to Dr_Avalanche on the win! I will PM you the prize, though after you find out what it is, I'm not sure exactly how you'll feel about the choice you have to make. :D

Ultimately, the victory came down to choosing the winner of the Ashes in the Fall main event correctly, which is how I think it should be.

Hopefully everyone enjoyed the (long) show; it only gets crazier from here. :)

Emiko Miyoshi def. Glorious Gloria

I was a little surprised the majority picked Emiko, but I think that is reflective of Gloria’s recent jobber status. Emiko really shone here, hitting E+ in her performance despite not really being over nor having any momentum, so it looks like she may have been quietly getting better without it showing up in her (very unscouted) stats. Gloria, on the other hand, is still in the dog house after a backstage incident from September 2018, though that punishment may have run its course after seeing her lose every single match she’s been in since then.

Gloria has, as far as I'm concerned, one major advantage in her favor, and that's her age despite her weirdly old looking picture - in my mind, she's dying her hair silver/platinum blonde, which adds to the aging effect (but might help hide her age as she gets older). Which means, she's got a ton of room to potentially grow, with a favorable destiny roll. I've not looked under the hood at what her "Menace" stat is, but there's not a whole lot of women workers with notably high Menace - if she has an above-average Menace stat, she could turn into a fine monster heel at some future point.

Yo Ho! def. Generation NOW in a Mud Wrestling match to remain DPW Deuces Wild Tag Team Champions

As most predicted, Yo Ho! in a mud wrestling match is like the Undertaker in his first 21 WrestleManias.

I'd go even further and say it's like Undertaker in his WrestleMania victory over Snuka in that there's not even a question as to who's going to win. You know, you've managed to book Yo Ho! with the same level of dominance - in their chosen environment, mind you - as Killer Kass. Maybe more so, even.

Electric Dreamer and Velvet Suarez vs Queens of the Damned ended in a double-count out

The surprise of the night in terms of match rating, Electric Dreamer put in a D+ performance that, considering her popularity and momentum, puts her in the league of Laura and Thea. With the road agent note of ‘Regular,’ everyone else in the match was great as well, with La Hija at E+ (not bad considering F popularity) and Velvet and Amazon at D-. Queens of the Damned were probably helped by having good chemistry with Seduction, but I’d like to think that the three wrestlers from OLLIE have worked together so much that this familiarity led to the relatively high ratings.

Aguila was definitely a consideration, but it came down to money and needing something for Velvet to do. I'm not sure how big of an effect tag team history plays into match ratings, but it would explain why my tag matches tend to drag relative to one-on-one match ups.

In my experience thus far, I've found that tag experience (a measureable in-game stat!) has a generally positive effect, so long as that tag experience actually exists. The boosts that long-term teams get definitely can help elevate tag matches beyond what you'd expect given the individual participants. I'm not surprised that the tag match outperformed, given the Queens of the Damned should have a decent amount of tag experience behind them - which should consequently give matches with them a higher rating than might otherwise be expected. Dreamer's scoring well isn't quite as explicable for me, though I do like your in-universe reasoning. Also, if you're going to have the two luchadora teams going at it for a while, I think you're going to need to hold the contest under lucha libre, two-out-of-three falls rules - which changes the "hot tag" spot, since you can just roll out of the ring to bring your partner in during a lucha libre match.

Also, Phoenix I would like me to say at this juncture, ¡Viva OLLIE! :D

LaRue X def. Thea Davis

Another pleasant surprise, with LaRue being everything I had hoped she would be. This really made me wish I had signed her earlier, as her brawler/entertainer mix is basically the blueprint for success in DPW. Thea held up her part of the bargain, putting in the same D+ level performance as LaRue. Thea has really been climbing the ladder in terms of performance, while I’m hopeful that LaRue’s isn’t due to a debut pop that some wrestlers have.

A great choice, and Public Enemy was runner up before I decided to go with "Formation." :)

Well, after all, it takes a nation of millions to hold us back.

LaRue also has great stats for AAA purposes as well - Entertainers obviously work well with the pop over performance AAA settings, and unlike hardcore and cruiserweight workers, a brawling specialty is not penalized under AAA settings. It was that combination that led me to not only bring Foxxy into AAA, but to immediately put the Top Contender's title on her. I wanted to give her instant cred, but in some ways, Foxxy might actually be too good for the Top Contender's Title in AAA - she might be main event level material very quickly. She might just wind up being that way in DPW as well. Plus, you got to love the versatility to be able to play either face or heel, as needed.

Gorgon won the Body Count Chamber Elimination Match to become DPW Queen of the Ring when Phil Vibert hit Kate Avatar with a chair; Hell Cat attacked Phil Vibert post-match

Ah, so we come to the main event. As will be covered in the next interlude, this was not the originally intended end to this match, and the crowd’s expectation of Deborah winning was a kayfabe-breaking insight into my plan right up until I booked the match. Vibert’s interference was always a part of this though, so I’m happy no one (at least in their predictions) saw this coming.

I did let the game handle the order of elimination, except for Kate and Kass being switched, but I had to use the storyline overwrite button on that one.

With Simony going out first, I’m glad I was at least able to give a storyline reason for this, though her popularity was hurt slightly by the showing, along with Laura’s and Deborah’s. Kass, Kate, and Gorgon gained popularity from the match (thought with Kate I’m thinking it was the post-match angle as well) so at least it was an even trade.

Looking back, this was the right way to go in relation to how the next few shows turned out. Gorgon has evolved from a Samoa Joe-like character (thus the entrance music) to more how Kevin Owens has been booked lately as the opportunistic (but still dangerous) heel, which I think works since Deborah and Kass already fill the unstoppable monster quotient.

I should have known better than to think you'd pull a #firerusso-level swerve and keep the belt on Kate, when you said that you were going to have a new champion. You're not changing your booking due to what the dirt sheets say. Congratulations, you are now officially a smarter booker than the WCW booking committee in 1998-2000. ;)

Gorgon's been a real cipher to me so far. I don't have a real sense of what she's up to, except that she's got a crappy attitude backstage. I thought she'd get a good showing, enough to put her into the title conversation, but I didn't expect her to actually hold the belt yet. Then again, I should have factored in the USPW factor. I'm sure the leftover popularity from USPW national exposure results in Gorgon pulling in some great numbers in her matches. Given the insinuations you've made about the precarious state of DPW's finances, and the punishment losing a regional battle to CZCW can cause, I wasn't sure if you were willing to put the belt on anyone else for fear of weaker main events. But Gorgon's background - if not her work in DPW yet - should be lower risk.

I'll be interested to see if Kate immediately goes after Gorgon. That seems like it could be a money feud - and money is what DPW seems to be in critical need of at this point.

So, Charity and Sandra are pretty close in performance right now, at least when the disparity in their momentum is factored in. Charity has the advantage of being the flashier, better looking (says the game!) wrestler, which I guess tips the HBK scales in her favor. Still, Sandra having survived this long is a minor miracle, and a testament to how far her ring work has come since the beginning of DPW.

FWIW, the WWF thought they were going to get not one star, but two, out of breaking up the Rockers. They'd get a heel out of Michaels and a face out of Janetty that could feud for years to come - at worst, not unlike Rick Martel and Tito Santana, and at best, main events in the future. Janetty just managed to have even worse substance abuse issues than even Michaels, and had terrible luck in terms of injury. Michaels was also, ultimately, more talented but that wasn't immediately obvious at the time of the break-up.

So, maybe Sandra winds up being the alternate-universe Janetty, where she winds up a fixture of the upper midcard/midcard scene, instead of being the unfunny punchline to a joke about breaking up tag teams?

All right, prediction time!

Sarah Sparkell vs Simony Sentinel

Oh, Sarah, my heart weeps for you. But even if she is poised for a breakout, Simony needs the victory more after her poor showing at the last event.

Gypsy Rose vs Sandra Shine

Ditto on Sandra, except I have no warm feelings about Rose.

Four-Way Ladder Match for the DPW Deuces Wild Tag Team Titles

Generation NOW vs Queens of the Damned vs Velvet Dream (Electric Dreamer and Velvet Suarez) vs Yo Ho! ©

Oh no, Yo Ho! are screwed - and not in the way I'm sure they'd prefer. Actually having to defend the title in a real match? And not just that, but a ladder match? Oof. They could still pull this one out, especially if Velvet Dream and the Queens wind up so focused on each other that Yo Ho! manages to sneak one past the other teams. Generation NOW seems to be the best-established choice, but I think the Queens manage to take the victory here in order to up the ante on the Queens/Dream feud.

Yo Ho! will return to the oil wrestling challenges, and to a certain segment of the audience, they'll always be the champs. Not in their hearts, more like...other places. :o

Also, Phoenix I would like me to remind everyone once again, ¡Viva OLLIE!

The monsters have been cold as ice, and I don't see that changing. They do seem to serve as wonderful foils to funnier/sexier teams, and the inherent contrast between the fragile, tiny, doll-like Miyoshi and the bulk of the Monsters is a perfect layup in terms of match plotting.

Four-Way Match (One Fall) – Winner becomes the last entrant in the Phoenix Rise Rumble; the wrestler that takes the fall becomes entrant #1

Claire Winters vs Deborah Young vs Laura Flame vs Thea Davis

I don't think either Winters or Flame wins the Rumble, but I do think this might be the start of an angle with them. I'm choosing them as the winners based on future storyline possibilities, even though Deborah Young seems the top choice to win. But a face as the final entrant? Unless it's a major unexpected comeback like John Cena, it's too good a storyline bit for a heel to have won the spot - only to be beaten despite their overwhelming advantage.

#1 Contender’s Match – Winner receives DPW Queen of the Ring title shot at Fire Within

Foxxy LaRue vs Sista Kass

This is my far-out prediction, but - there's the possibility we're about to see a Faarooq/Nation of Domination vs. Ahmed Johnson feud here. Accusations of Uncle (Aunt) Tomfoolery and all that entirely possible. But I think a more interesting swerve is if LaRue X manages to convince Sista Kass to "fight the man" together, leading to an ending where both women "win" the match, causing a three-way dance for the title.

The safer prediction is that Kass wins and we get an epic hoss fight between a (can it be?) face Kass and Gorgon, but why live safe?

For the DPW Queen of the Ring Title

Gorgon © vs Kate Avatar

Too early to take the strap off the new champion, and an ending involving shenanigans helps neither woman. Gorgon wins with a pinfall or submission, but the possibility of dirty play to get there does still seem likely.

Bonus Questions

How many titles will change hands during the show? I'm calling two.

Who will answer Killer Kathy McMahon’s open challenge? I say Charity Dark. Who's crazy enough to take on Killer Kathy, and maybe even outcrazy her? It also gives the Athena title the opportunity to serve as a prop for an ongoing Dark/Shine feud, and the rules of the Athena belt mean things could get real nasty, real quick - perfect for the hardcore contingent of the DPW audience!

Who will take the fall in the four-way match to become the first entrant in the Phoenix Rise Rumble? Laura Flame will take the pinfall against Claire Winters, setting up an epic Rumble performance where Flame manages to last until the near end, only to be tossed out by Winters again as Fire 'n Ice EXPLODE!

Where will DPW finish in the monthly Regional Battle (out of four)? I've learned my lesson doubting DPW. With a hot-fire main event, DPW is once again #1!

I know this is asking more than usual, and it won’t be for points, but I’m curious to see how everyone is seeing the All In All V card shaping up with two events to go before it. If you have any matches that you think will take place on that show, feel free to list them with your predictions.</p><p> </p><p>

We're getting Gorgon vs Kate now, I kind of think there's room for a rematch between them in the near future, but there are so many possibilities. Gorgon vs Kass would be incredible and Kate vs Foxxy needs to happen, but Gorgon vs Foxxy is also a great match. If I had to put my money on one alternative, I say it's Kate vs Foxxy at All In All.</p>
