Dark Phoenix Wrestling: A Woman Scorned

Recommended Posts

<p><em>SNP will make the following, final, statement on matters of representation and equality. As we approach the end of the calendar year 2018 in our little corner of reality Mark Carnie has groped exactly 0 women. Associated with SNP. Quite frankly we don't know what goes on in his private life and we really don't want to know! These persistent rumours of Carnie being some sort of predatory creep are nothing more than the imaginings of some cartel of fantasy bookers on the internet.</em></p><p><em> </em></p><p><em>

</em><em><span style="font-size:8px;">PS: Mark Carnie is a terrible human being with whom I have a terrible relationship. I fully expect him to fire me at some point...</span></em></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Now... apologies for this tangent from the compelling tales of DPW - on with the show! </strong><img alt=":D" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p>

</div><span>http://i.imgur.com/BRjcmA0.jpg</span><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><strong>VS</strong></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><span>http://i.imgur.com/653dfkJ.jpg</span><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

In a bit of a departure from the normal evaluation match, Electric Dreamer is put in the ring with the least skilled wrestler in the company in order to see if the luchadora can carry Gypsy Rose to a decent match.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Dreamer succeeds for the most part, and Kate notes that her fan favorite gimmick should work to draw any teenage girls in attendance into the action. With a burst of color and speed, the Mexican wrestler twirls Gypsy around for an E.M.P. that is good for the pin.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><strong>

</div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><strong>Pre-Show Dark Match: Emiko Miyoshi and Marie Punnen vs Kaori Mochizuki and Nami Genda</strong></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

</div><span>http://i.imgur.com/7A68NMO.jpg</span><span>http://i.imgur.com/rt9PcSQ.jpg</span><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><strong>VS</strong></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><span>http://i.imgur.com/FnQ2qa4.jpg</span><span>http://i.imgur.com/CgpxqGh.jpg</span><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

With the crowd itching for the show to start, Emiko and Nami struggle a bit to remain on their game as they face off to begin this contest. The two Japanese Cruiserweights trade high flying maneuvers before tagging in their respective partners, who immediately engage in a flurry of punches.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Marie even manages to nail the larger Mochizuki with an uppercut, but right when Punnen goes for the cover, the street fighter is hit from behind with a dropkick from Genda.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Punnen recovers to tag in Miyoshi, while Kaori dives to slap the hand of Nami. Genda and Emiko charge at each other, with the latter going for the Miyoshi Cradle only to be countered by flying double knees from her opponent. Nami quickly goes for the cover, and while Marie staggers into the ring, the referee counts 1 – 2 – 3 to give Genda’s team the win.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

</div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><strong>Winners via Pinfall: Kaori Mochizuki and Nami Genda</strong></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

</div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><strong>Match Rating: E+</strong></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

While Nami and Kaori celebrate their victory, Punnen walks over to Emiko to help the Japanese wrestler her feet. Marie shakes her head as she does so, clearly frustrated at taking another loss. Miyoshi tries to offer some words of encouragement, but the street fighter suddenly levels the cruiserweight with a stiff uppercut.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

The crowd reacts to Punnen’s action with jeers of derision, not so much out of hate, but more for her being involved in any type of storyline at all.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

</div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><strong>Show Opening:</strong></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><strong>

</strong></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

</div><span>http://i.imgur.com/1Hyvuq0.jpg</span><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

All In All IV begins with the video screen above the theater stage displaying a close up of Kate Avatar’s face. The appearance by the 2019 Phoenix Rise Rumble winner receives a loud pop from the fan, until the sound of slow clapping is heard.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

</div><span>http://i.imgur.com/BtwT5LL.jpg</span><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

The camera pans back to reveal Kate backstage in the locker room, while Thea Davis walks into the shot, still mocking Avatar with insincere applause, “Way to go Kate! You did it! You bent the rules to favour yourself…what…a…surprise.” A look of intensity coming over Davis’ face as she draws out the last few words.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

“What do you want Thea? Don’t you have a match to get to?”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

“That’s true, but we all know I should be fighting to become Queen of the Ring tonight, but instead, you stole that away from me!” The Englishwoman jabs her right index finger into Kate’s chest for emphasis, and Hell Cat responds by slapping Davis’ hand away.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

“I’ve kicked your ass once Thea, and I can do it again. Besides, I’m pretty sure Kass wouldn’t like you fighting her in the main event.”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

A wry smile comes over Thea’s lips, “Funny you should mention that…”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

</div><span>http://i.imgur.com/m1TODO6.jpg</span><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Before Kate can react, Sista Kass rushes into the shot, pummeling Hell Cat until Avatar crumples to the floor. While Davis cackles in the background, Kass lays into Kate with a series of stomps before picking up the challenger in tonight’s main event and slamming her body into one of the lockers.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

With a scowl, Kass stands over Hell Cat’s fallen body with one fist raised into the air, while Thea pats her hired gun on the back for a job well done.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

</div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><strong>Match #1: Claire Winters vs Electric Dreamer vs Killer Kathy McMahon vs Thea Davis – Ten-Minute No Disqualification Scramble Match for the DPW Athena Warrior Title</strong></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

</div><span>http://i.imgur.com/1OjidHr.jpg</span><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><strong>VS</strong></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><span>http://i.imgur.com/BRjcmA0.jpg</span><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><strong>VS</strong></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><span>http://i.imgur.com/d8b9d8M.jpg</span><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><strong>VS</strong></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><span>http://i.imgur.com/BtwT5LL.jpg</span><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

</div><span>http://i.imgur.com/psHhr1Z.png</span><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

The crowd focuses their hatred on Thea Davis as the referee holds up the Athena Warrior belt for all to see before calling for the bell. Davis immediately rolls out of the ring while the three other wrestlers in the match fight, looking to take advantage of the No DQ nature of the match by grabbing a weapon.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Still angry over Kathy’s attack during the Phoenix Rise Rumble, Claire teams with Electric Dreamer to take down the brawling McMahon with a series of kicks, until Thea climbs back through the ropes and slams the Mexican luchadora over the back with a steel chair.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Davis goes for the cover, but Winters quickly breaks up the pin attempt, only to find herself being double teamed by Thea and Kathy.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Once Dreamer recovers, the four-way action ignites the crowd, with each wrestler earning a chance to shine. Electric Dreamer is especially impressive considering her relative lack of popularity, and soon the fans are cheering on the white-masked wrestler even more than Claire.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Winters does not let this change in sentiment disturb her, bringing Kathy down to the mat with Ice Breaker while Dreamer and Davis fight on the outside. Before Thea can reenter the ring, McMahon taps out, knowing that there is still plenty of time left to make up for that fall.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><strong>

*Leader with 1 Fall: Claire Winters*</strong></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Not wanting to let another title get away from her, Thea turns desperate, grabbing a garbage can full of weapons from under the ring to lay waste to all three of her opponents. Claire goes down after a blow to the head from a kendo stick, while Kathy eats a shot from a baseball bat straight to her jaw. Making Dreamer her last victim, Thea tosses the garbage can at the Mexican wrestler, before slamming the metal object into luchadora’s skull with an Axe Kick.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

With a smug smile on her face, Davis covers Dreamer to even the score with Winters.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><strong>

*Tied with 1 Fall Each: Claire Winters and Thea Davis*</strong></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><strong>

</strong></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Claire is the first one to recover, and instantly attacks the still celebrating Thea, causing the two rivals to tumble over the ropes to the floor. McMahon and Dreamer rise to their feet at the same time, but Kathy deftly grabs her opponent for a Glittering Jawbreaker and gets the pin.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

</div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><strong>*Tied with 1 Fall Each: Claire Winters, Killer Kathy McMahon and Thea Davis*</strong></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Checking the digital board held by a casino staffer, the crowd finds the clock nearing the nine-minute mark as all four wrestlers reset in the ring. Dreamer is the first to charge, but is taken out by a spinning heel kick from Claire. Davis tries to attack Winters from behind with an Axe Kick, but the Ice Woman whirls around to connect with her finisher to the Englishwoman’s jaw.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Disoriented by her quick pivot, Claire loses track of McMahon, and Kathy slams her knees into Winters’ face with the Glittering Jawbreaker.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

With all of her opponents down on the canvas, Kathy covers the Ice Woman and the referee counts 1 – 2 – 3 to give McMahon the lead.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

</div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><strong>*Leader with 2 Falls: Killer Kathy McMahon*</strong></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Davis rises to her feet, but looks up to see Kathy stoically pointing at the clock, which reaches the ten minute mark to end the match.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

</div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><strong>Winner with Two Falls and the First DPW Athena Warrior: Killer Kathy McMahon</strong></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

</div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><strong>Match Rating: D+</strong></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

As Kathy is awarded the Athena Warrior title, the video screen above the stage cuts to Phil Vibert’s office, where Laura Flame, with a noticeable limp in her step, appears in the doorway.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

</div><span>http://i.imgur.com/52WMMKc.jpg</span><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

“Phil, I heard you accepted Brayfield’s challenge. I want to fight for you, I want to fight for DPW.”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

</div><span>http://i.imgur.com/XEjtSQu.jpg</span><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Vibert glances up from his desk, with a dismissive look in his eyes, “And what makes you think I would accept your offer? You haven’t even been medically cleared to wrestle yet.”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Somewhat surprised by the harsh tone of DPW’s owner, Laura glances around the room, “For one, I’m pretty sure I’m the only one that’s offered so far.” Phil’s shoulders slump, and Flame takes this as a confirmation of her guess, “And secondly, there is no one in that locker room that loves this company more than I do. I have fought and bleed to make DPW great, and I promise you, I will leave everything I have in that ring to fight to keep this place out of Brayfield’s hands!”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

As usual, the crowd reacts to Laura’s passion with loud cheers, the honesty in her words coming in loud and clear as the redhead continues, “DPW…you…you gave me a chance when no one else would. When the last place I worked for closed, I tried out for QAW, but Brayfield said I wasn’t good enough. He said nobody wants to pay to see a woman kick when they can watch plenty of us do flips. Well tonight, I’ll show that ‘Boss’ Man what he missed out on. I’ll show him he made the biggest mistake of his life that day, and in the process, I’ll pay you back for everything DPW has done for me.”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

After selling his internal deliberation, Vibert rises from his seat and vigorously shakes Laura’s hand, while the fans continue to chant for Flame from the theater.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

</div><span>http://i.imgur.com/sZpWAMg.jpg</span><span>http://i.imgur.com/sZpWAMg.jpg</span><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Building off of the opening match, this contest for the tag titles quickly turns into another violent affair, with each team aiming to top the others with a series of high spots.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

With Maria Guest backstage preparing for her final encounter against Simony Sentinel, Selina and Hoshiko find their technical prowess largely useless in this environment. After an initial period of struggle, the two members of Generation NOW find success in switching to a more brawling style to make the fight even.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

As expected, the three high fliers in this match carry the action, with Charity, Sandra, and Velvet putting on great performances while dazzling the crowd with their flashy moves. Only Ursula lags behind, though to her credit, the Mayan Mauler appears to have lost a little weight since her last appearance at Fire Within.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

For ten minutes the three teams battle in increasingly more dangerous feats of daring. In one of the most memorable spots of the match, Charity and Hoshiko are at the top of two parallel ladders, reaching out for the tag title belts hung from a strap above the ring. Neither wrestler is able get more than a fingertip on the gold, so as Selina approaches, Dark jumps from her ladder and spears Tagawa down to the mat.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Svelte looks at her tag team partner with concern, but only for a second before starting her ascent up a ladder. Unfortunately for Generation NOW, the blonde technician is quickly pulled down by both members of Velvet Revolución. Ursula tells Velvet to keep Selina at bay while she goes for the titles, and Suarez obliges by exchanging blows with Svelte.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

As Ursula nears the top rung, Sandra slips into the ring after having just finished setting up a table on the outside. Running quickly up to the zenith, the small blonde meets Saez at the top to trade punches. With neither woman able to gain the upper hand, Sandra pushes herself up for a kick to the head that stuns Ursula. Instead of going for the titles, the twitching Shine grabs her opponent’s head with her legs for her patented hurricanrana to send both herself and Saez driving through the table on the floor with a sickening crunch.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Velvet manages to knock Selina to the mat with an enziguri and makes a move to check on her tag team partner. Nearing the ropes, the purple clad wrestler has second thoughts, and decides to go for the belts instead. At the top rung, Velvet reaches out, only for a recovered Charity to tip the ladder over, sending Suarez crashing to the canvas.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Slowly but surely, Dark climbs up each step, but the crowd’s focus shifts towards the stage.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

</div><span>http://i.imgur.com/wnxe88m.jpg</span><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Charity looks up to find Roxy Kitten standing at the top of the ramp. The eyes of the BSC Original narrow as she stares at the blonde in the ring. Dark tries to move up one more rung, but finds herself unable to. After struggling for a few more moments, Charity descends from her perch then slowly walks to Kitten and the stage, almost as if in a trance.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Sandra raises her head as she watches her tag team partner pass her by, but is unable to get to her feet in time to stop Dark. Taking half-steps, Charity reaches Roxy and obeys Kitten’s gaze to head backstage.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

In the ring, Selina gets up, and finding no opposition, ambles up the ladder to snatch the tag team titles for the win.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

After taking one last bow, Svelte and Tagawa clink the Deuces Wild belts together as if doing a toast and head backstage, leaving the still motionless bodies of Velvet and Ursula behind.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

“I’ve been watching you, and I’ve got to admit I’ve been impressed. You’ve probably seen me on TV, but I’ve never seen anybody like you. Back in the theater, the fans can not resist singing along with Joanna and Polly’s entrance music as the two adult entertainers bounce their way onto the stage.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

With beads in hand, the tag team partners are clad in Mardi Gras themed thong bikinis, with Silver dressed in purple while Amorous wears a mixture of green and gold. As the two wrestlers hand out the trinkets, they flash the crowd, which sends their fan club into a tizzy at the sight of the exposed flesh.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

After teasing the audience with one more bounce up and down, Yo Ho! make their way to the vat of mud that has been set up next to the ramp for their match against Glorious Monsters.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

</div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><strong>Match #3: Glorious Monsters vs Yo Ho! – Mud Wrestling</strong></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

</div><span>http://i.imgur.com/piZUmbD.jpg</span><span>http://i.imgur.com/evDD8Ly.jpg</span><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><strong>VS</strong></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><span>http://i.imgur.com/lGDXjoF.jpg</span><span>http://i.imgur.com/oMX9Z9a.jpg</span><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Gloria looks less than thrilled as she stares down at the pool full of mud from the stage, and the former bodybuilder’s mood soon turns despondent as Silver dropkicks her down into the brown, viscous liquid to start the match.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

While no one would mistake Joanna or Polly for Yoshimi Mushashibo, there is no denying that this stipulation suits the two well, and they deliver a great performance that entertains the crowd from start to finish. Part of the enjoyment of the audience comes from the humiliation of Ishimura and Gloria, who take turns being dunked in the mud.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Silver and Amorous do not escape being covered in the brown liquid, but the fans delight in their bikinis becoming tattered over the course of the action, giving those sitting nearby an eyeful of Yo Ho!’s wet bodies.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

After seven minutes of ridiculousness, Joanna and Polly manage to down the two members of Glorious Monsters on opposite sides of the pool with matching DDT’s. With a cheer from the fans, Yo Ho! jump onto the faces of the downed former bodybuilder and her 284-pound partner for stereo bronco busters that the adult entertainers appear to enjoy just a little too much.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Once Silver and Amorous are finished, Gloria and Ishimura pratfall face first into the mud. Joanna and Polly team up on Monster to roll the goliath over, with the pirate getting the pin.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

</div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><strong>Winners via Pinfall: Yo Ho!</strong></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Covered from head-to-toe in mud, Yo Ho! celebrate their victory by grinding on each other, and then on some of the more than eager fans nearby, which receives another round of howls from the crowd. </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Moving to the stage, Joanna and Polly towel each other off in a manner so sensual that a parent in the audience covers the eyes of a young child they brought to the show for some inexplicable reason. This reaction is the exception, as the rest of the fans are left with tongues wagging at this spectacle, showering Silver and Amorous with whistles and applause as the two finally make their way backstage.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

<p>That was a great way to take the belt off Ladies Reborn without making them seem weak. Story progression! I'm taking notes.</p><p> </p><p>

I did not see Kathy winning the Athena title, but that's the great thing about a new title, people who were ill suited to the old titles can suddenly become contenders. Still not convinced she'll be a long reigning champ, but what a way to elevate a worker!</p>

<p>Chapter 28: The Only Way Out is Through (Part 2 of 2)</p><p> </p><p> </p><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">As Glorious Monsters are toweled off by casino staffers and the vat of mud is pulled away, a hype video for the final encounter between Simony Sentinel and Maria Guest begins to play. While the audience’s attention is initially still focused on the mental images Yo Ho! just gave them, they slowly become hotter for the match to come as the highlight package continues.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><div style="text-align:center;"><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> <iframe width="560" height="315" src="</div><a href="https://www.youtube.com/embed/Tja6_h4lT6A" rel="external nofollow"></a><div style="margin-left:25px;"><a href="https://www.youtube.com/embed/Tja6_h4lT6A" rel="external nofollow">https://www.youtube.com/embed/Tja6_h4lT6A"</a></div><a href="https://www.youtube.com/embed/Tja6_h4lT6A" rel="external nofollow"></a><div style="margin-left:25px;"> frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe></div></div><p></p><p></p><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> To the tune of Tool’s “46 & 2,” the history of Simony and Maria is recapped, including grainy footage of Sentinel as a teenager, practicing moves in her parents’ backyard. This is contrasted with Maria, who is shown at the same age, in crystal clear images, training with Farrah Hesketh in a sterile gym.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> The video fast-forwards through the rise and break-up of Doll Parts in DPW, focusing instead on the past year, with Guest forming Generation NOW to torment her former tag team partner.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> As the music crescendos, the two women are edited to look like there are standing side by side, saying in unison:</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><em>One…last…time.</em></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><strong>Segment Rating: E+</strong></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><em> </em></div><div class="ipsEmbeddedVideo"><div><iframe width="200" height="113" src="https://www.youtube-nocookie.com/embed/cH_rfGBwamc?feature=oembed" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen="" title="Hole - Violet (Official Music Video)"></iframe></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><span>http://i.imgur.com/NcYZPXH.jpg</span><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> Taking her time, Simony Sentinel walks out slowly onto the stage to cheers from the crowd. Why, in just a few short minutes, will I fight tooth and nail to keep my job…to get my former partner fired?” Simony lets her words hang in the air while making her way down the ramp.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> With a toss of her purple hair, Sentinel looks to the ceiling, “I’ve asked for forgiveness, but all I got was a punch to the face. I’ve begged for peace, but then I got jumped from behind. I’ve tried and tried…and tried…and tried, to make you stop, to make this stop, but you won’t give up. Even after the bell sounds, the two former best friends continue their stare down for several moments. A vein in Guest’s forehead appears ready to burst while Sentinel open and closes her fists repeatedly while digging her heels into the mat.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> The Violent Violet swings first, only to be met with a kick to the gut from her opponent. Simony tries to follow up, but Guest dissects her with a fisherman’s suplex. With eyes full of rage, Maria targets Sentinel knees with a series of stomps and submission holds. Guest then pulls her foe to a corner and slaps on the figure four leglock, using the ring post as leverage to increase Simony’s pain tenfold.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> The purple clad wrestler repeatedly smacks the mat to ask for mercy, but with no submissions or disqualifications allowed, Simony finds no relief as Maria keeps the hold on until the blonde tires herself out. On the theater floor, Guest snatches a chair and reenters the ring, while Sentinel barely manages to get up to stand on one leg.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> “You want to know why I won’t stop!” Maria screams as she brains Sentinel with the chair, “You want to know why I won’t quit! It’s because I won’t let you take this away from me! I am the best! I’m the one these fans should be cheering for! I am the one they should love!” Guest punctuates each sentence by hitting her fallen rival over the back with the steel weapon, unleashing a fury that leaves most of the audience wondering how exactly Simony can possibly win this match.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> The Violent Violet does not help this perception as she appears out on her feet after somehow finding the strength to rise from the mat. Maria drops her staggering foe with a package piledriver, and as the referee proceeds with his ten count, goes to the outside to retrieve a table.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> Simony looks to be down for the count, but as the referee shouts “Eight!” Guest decides she is not going to let her former best friend off so easily. Dragging Sentinel to the now set-up table, Maria lifts the purple haired wrestler up for another package piledriver, only to have the Violent Violet gouge her in the eyes.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> Running on pure adrenaline, Simony fights back, delivering a series of kicks that sends Maria to the theater floor. The Violent Violet lets out a shout, then jumps to the top rope to deliver a Sentinel Strike on Guest below.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> Both women remain down on the outside until the count of seven, rising near simultaneously to exchange blows. Maria appears to get the best of the attack, until Simony dodges an attempted spear that sends the blonde into the ring post.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> After rolling Guest back into the ring, Sentinel digs under the apron until she finds a bag full of thumbtacks. The purple haired wrestler climbs back through the ropes and then dumps the sharp metal objects all over the mat before lining up Maria for an UltraViolet that would send Guest face first into the tacks.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> Just as it looks like Sentinel will connect, the leader of Generation NOW counters, slamming Simony to the canvas. The Violent Violet cries out in pain, writhing back and forth to expose the metal now puncturing her back.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> With murderous intent in her eyes, Maria looks to finish off her opponent by driving her through the table, but at the last second, it is Simony who counters, sending Guest face first through the wooden plank with UltraViolet. Sentinel only manages to get to her knees as the exuberant fans count along with the referee, and she looks to the sky as “Ten!” is shouted out to give her the win.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><strong> Winner via Ten Count and Still Employed with DPW: Simony Sentinel</strong></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><strong>Match Rating: D+ </strong></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> Simony remains kneeling on the mat for several moments, struggling to catch her breath as the fans applaud her with a mix of joy and surprise at Sentinel coming out on top. The purple haired wrestler nods as if telling herself she did what she had to do, but as the Violent Violet looks over at Maria stirring on the mat, her mood begins to change.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> With both women breathing heavily, Simony locks eyes with Guest as the blonde pushes away the pile of wooden debris enveloping her. Maria’s shoulders slump as she processes what has just occurred, which causes Sentinel to start to well up with tears. Wobbling from side to side, Guest slowly rises to her feet, never breaking her gaze with her former best friend.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> Sentinel stands up with a look of mourning across her face, her nose scrunched up as if about to cry, but then she approaches Maria with hand outstretched. With Simony now in front of her, Guest glances down at the mat before looking back up at the Violent Violet.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> The purple haired wrestler whispers something to the blonde that the crowd can’t quite make out before thrusting her hand back in front of Maria. With one more look of disgust, Guest slaps Sentinel’s hand away, then turns around and heads to the back to a chorus of boos, leaving her former tag team partner alone in the ring to whimper, “You gave me no choice…”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><strong>Segment Rating: E+</strong></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> Simony exits the theater with her head hung low, while on the video screen, the back of a woman is shown in a dark corner somewhere backstage. He thinks I’m a little too rough around edges, a little too much kick and not enough flip. Hell Cat fights back, but as the two wrestlers engage in a long feeling out process, it becomes clear that neither woman is willing to go full bore at the other yet and risk opening herself up for a devastating move.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> With the action being paced to build to a crescendo, Kass takes a more cerebral approach in dissecting her opponent, relying on takedowns to ground Avatar instead of the usual combination of punches and suplexes. This strategy pays off, as each time Kate mounts an offensive, the champion is able to cut her off and send her crashing down to the mat.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> From ringside, Thea shouts a stream of obscenities at Hell Cat, the Englishwoman still fuming from the end of the Phoenix Rise Rumble in January and her Athena Warrior title loss earlier in the evening. Finally having enough, Kate turns to Davis and shouts “If you were good enough, you’d be in this ring right now!” but this distraction only serves to give Kass the opening she needs. Wrapping her arms around Hell Cat’s waist, the 240-pound wrestler tosses the challenger across the ring with a release German suplex, and holds up one finger before covering Avatar.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> Kate manages to kick out at two, but soon finds herself being hit with the same move three more times in a row as Kass keeps count. Before she can be pinned, Hell Cat finds the strength to roll out of the ring to recover, right at the feet of a jeering Thea.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> Kass follows her opponent to the outside, but as the champion charges at Avatar for a clothesline, Kate ducks out of the way, and Davis eats the forearm to the face instead. With a snort, the behemoth turns around, right into a DDT on the theater floor from Hell Cat.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> Now with the advantage, Kate unleashes a year’s worth of rage on Kass, landing several blows to her opponent’s head before rolling the champion back into the ring. As the audience gets to their feet, Hell Cat lifts Kass up for the Dark Phoenix Driver and connects, slamming the 240-pound wrestler to the mat with a thunder clap and then goes for the cover.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> …1</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> …2</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> …but Kass kicks out!</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> Kate nods, as if acknowledging that she knew becoming Queen of the Ring again would not be so easy. Avatar tries to follow up by locking in Hell Cat’s Cradle, but Kass counters with a headbutt that sends the challenger reeling.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> Letting out a roar, Kass slams Kate to the canvas with Kill Switch, but to the champion’s disbelief, Kate kicks out at two, popping the crowd, as the match passes the twenty-minute mark.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> Kass wastes no time in getting into the face of the referee, berating him for his slow count. <p>Prediction Contest Results and Card for Red Alert</p><p> </p><p> Before we transition to the next season of DPW, it's time for the final standings for the latest prediction contest.</p><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="41787" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><strong>1st Place - DarEatWorld: 25 Points Total (5 points from All In All IV)</strong><p> 2nd Place - MisterRomanini: 24 Points Total (5 points from All In All IV)</p><p> 3rd Place - Dr_Avalanche: 22 Points Total (3 points from All In All IV, bonus point for seeing through the Marie Punnen heel turn)</p><p> 4th Place - kingjames: 14 Points Total (5 points from All In All IV)</p><p> Honorable Mention - sincerenoble: 4 points from All In All IV (Welcome to the party! <img alt=":D" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />)</p><p> </p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> Congrats to DarEatWorld on the victory! The difference ended up being your faith in Simony Sentinel and I will send you a message with the prize shortly.</p><p> </p><p> It was good to see some divergence in the picks, so hopefully people were surprised by some of the results. I was a little surprised no one picked Laura to win her match or Kate to win the title, but I figure that is a function of what appeared to be the story direction (for Flame) and the bonus question (for Hell Cat) as I'll comment on in the next post.</p><p> </p><p> Moving on to season 5 of DPW, which <em>may or may not</em> be the last season, depending on how things go. Right now, I've simulated to Bitter Harvest in June 2019, but the future for Kate and the company is definitely cloudly. That being said, the theme is:</p><p> </p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><iframe width="560" height="315" src="</p><a href="https://www.youtube.com/embed/3OyrX11cMkE" rel="external nofollow">https://www.youtube.com/embed/3OyrX11cMkE"</a> frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p> The next prediction contest will be one off, with the prize being able to select a member of the roster for a spotlight article.</p><p> </p><p> With that, here's the card for Red Alert:</p><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="41787" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Red Alert</span></strong><p> </p><p><strong> Pre-Show Dark Match</strong></p><p> Glorious Monsters vs Raiden (Kaori Mochizuki and Nami Genda)</p><p> </p><p><strong> First Blood Match for the Athena Warrior Title</strong></p><p> Claire Winters vs Killer Kathy McMahon ©</p><p> </p><p> Emiko Miyoshi vs Marie Punnen</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Bra & Panties Match</strong></p><p> Velvet Revolución vs Yo Ho!</p><p> </p><p> Electric Dreamer (w/ Seduction) vs Gypsy Rose</p><p> </p><p><strong> Main Event</strong></p><p> Deborah Young and Kate Avatar vs Generations (Sista Kass and Thea Davis)</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Bonus Questions (one point each):</strong></p><p> Will Deborah Young give Kate Avatar the Queen of the Ring belt back?</p><p> After finishing 1st in March's regional battle, where will DPW finish this month (out of 5)?</p><p> </p><p> <strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Tiebreaker (Price is Right Rules):</span></strong></p><p> What will the attendance for the show be (All In All IV drew 138)?</p><p> </p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> DPW will also be upgrading their production values with Red Alert, so expect the format for the shows to change. While hopefully things will look a little prettier, I am aiming to shorten the match word counts greatly (from ~500 words for main events to ~100) while segments would continue to be about the same. Hopefully this will help me post more more quickly going forward, but I would love to hear feedback (good, bad, or ugly) once the next show has been put up.</p>

<p>A supremely satisfying season finale!</p><p> </p><p> Somehow, the theme "Everything burns" seems extremely appropriate for a wrestling company with a phoenix as its' logo. The thing that makes me happy, though, is that even if DPW to ashes, like the phoenix, I'm hoping that wouldn't be the end of your writing. Though you certainly would have earned a well-deserved break if you wanted one!</p><p> </p><p> As for a Brayfield/Vibert co-existing angle...I'm a believer that it's better for a story to have a definite arc. It would be very easy for the Brayfield/Vibert storyline to become a new "status quo" story that never really goes anywhere, where there really aren't stakes because everything that would upset the equilibrium gets immediately reversed. Like any nWo setback getting instantly reversed in story (and out of kayfabe) by Eric Bischoff. It just becomes treading water, and what used to be a hot storyline becomes interminably dull. So if you didn't have a defined direction you would want to go with a Brayfield/Vibert story, I think you made the right choice to end it with the finality that you did.</p><p> </p><p> Prediction time!</p><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="41787" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Red Alert</span><p> </p><p> Pre-Show Dark Match</p><p> Glorious Monsters vs <strong>Raiden (Kaori Mochizuki and Nami Genda)</strong></p><p> <em>Given the Monsters have been used more as comic relief than actual threats, I think this is a chance to put Raiden through its paces. Great show. Loved the match between Maria and Simony in particular. Was the hardcore vibe artistic license, or did you actually get them to agree to that kind of match? I can't for the life of me get my PPA wrestlers to do anything risky.

Thanks! So the match had Simony and Maria taking stunt bumps (one for the Sentinel Strike to the outside and one for the UltraViolet through the table). I also turned the match danger up to reflect the hardcore nature, which probably hurt the overall match rating from past experience.

I haven't really had problems with wrestlers agreeing to do spot bumps, but most refuse to do crazy bumps. Simony last did a crazy bump in the Las Vegas Street fight against Deborah when she did the Sentinel Strike off the ladder, but I think that was because her morale was through the roof at the time. Thea and Electric Dreamer are the wrestlers off of the top of my head that will do crazy bumps, but I think that is because they have the bold trait.

Re: Marie Punnen's heel turn, let's just say I caught a vibe. ;)

I'm usually super cautious about turns, always trying to foreshadow the turn well in advance, but you can't really do eight segments of foreshadowing with Marie Punnen, that would not go over very well. I assume you had what, one segment of hinting at a turn before it happened? Or were there more that I didn't notice? If you did it with less than the recommended segments of foreshadowing, weren't you concerned that the turn would be poorly received? What was the backup plan if it bombed? Just drop her?

Yeah, Kate's creativity is maxed out (same as my BSC playthrough), but I am still learning the new turn dynamic in TEW 2016 as I am used to just the length of time between turns being the only factor determining success.

Marie had two segment foreshadowing a turn (not sure what the second was, but I'll take it). She is the first turn since Laura and Claire (Flame's worked, Winters' didn't), so I'm not sure if it is a random roll or related to entertainment skill, etc., as Kate turned successfully at All In All I with just two segments.

As for Marie's future, the main reason for the turn was to spark her momentum, but that didn't work. There is still a plan for her though. :D

Re: Vibert vs Brayfield. I may have mixed up kayfabe and reality somewhere along the line. I thought Kate told Vibert that he had to go because he had "lost the locker room". I had gotten into my head that that was not kayfabe, and this story arc was to facilitate his exit. It's fine though. I enjoy being swerved, even if it's by my own hand. Which can be further seen as I had no clue that when I told you to go ahead and bring Deborah back it would be in this capacity. Never saw it coming. :D

So this is probably my fault for mixing kayfabe and non-kayfabe. You are right that Phil lost the locker room during the 2018 Bitter Harvest show (he lost the locker room leader trait after judging Laura in the wrestler's court for not shaking a veteran's hand at the show, not sure exactly how that works). Brayfield was brought in as the new locker room leader, and replaced Vibert on he booking team. Phil was stripped of all his backstage responsibilities, making him an on-camera personality only (similar to Paul Heyman now).

I'm glad Deborah's return in that capacity came as a surprise. I told you it'd be a cool moment. :)

Don't say that. I'm already getting separation anxiety, the way you feel when a tv-show you love is about to end. It can't end, right? :o

(as long as you don't stop writing entirely, I guess I'll be fine, but I will miss DPW if it ends.)

Haha, thanks. A lot of the decision has to do with All In All V is a natural point to wrap up all the storylines, including the one that has been hinted at since the first Ashes in the Fall.

Another reason is DPW is running into problems getting to Small company size. For whatever reason, the wrestling industry is a C, but shows still only increase popularity by 0.3%. That means that I have to finish 2nd or higher in the regional battles just to not lose ground. If DPW can reach small, I think at least one alliance will open up that could help this, so we'll see. ;)

I do have a couple ideas for new dynasties, with a real world one leading the pack, so I'll definitely still be writing on here either way. :D

A supremely satisfying season finale!

Somehow, the theme "Everything burns" seems extremely appropriate for a wrestling company with a phoenix as its' logo. The thing that makes me happy, though, is that even if DPW to ashes, like the phoenix, I'm hoping that wouldn't be the end of your writing. Though you certainly would have earned a well-deserved break if you wanted one!

As for a Brayfield/Vibert co-existing angle...I'm a believer that it's better for a story to have a definite arc. So if you didn't have a defined direction you would want to go with a Brayfield/Vibert story, I think you made the right choice to end it with the finality that you did.

Prediction time!

I'm glad you enjoyed it! A lot of the stuff in this I had thought about for awhile, so it's good to hear it came across well.

I hadn't even thought of the appropriateness of the season name in relation to the Phoenix name, but if it is the series finale, I'll take falling into a happy coincidence. :p

For the Vibert/Brayfield dynamic, I think this would work if there were weekly shows instead of events every six weeks as I could flesh out the story better. I did think about doing a QAW invasion angle, but with Generations as the dominant heel faction, I thought that side of roster would be too crowded with really only Kate and Laura super over on the face side. If I did go that route, it would culminate with another control of the company match between Kate and Gorgon, but I kind of want them doing other things right now. ;)

I'm new to the dynasty here but have finally caught up although I probably have missed a lot. Have to admit I have never really gotten into the C-verse but this dynasty has given me new insight into the possibilities of it. I'm really impressed with the creativity and direction this story has gone.

I'll give a try on the picks even though I'm probably still learning the characters.

Congrats on a great story, hope it is not the last season

Pre-Show Dark Match

Glorious Monsters vs Raiden (Kaori Mochizuki and Nami Genda)

Going out on a limb on this pick, probably a mistake but I don't sense the boss sees anything with the monsters and she has given Gloria more than enough opportunities

First Blood Match for the Athena Warrior Title

Claire Winters vs Killer Kathy McMahon ©. McMahon just got the belt, doubt we see a change in first defense

Emiko Miyoshi vs Marie

Another reach but what the heck.

Bra & Panties Match

Velvet Revolución vs Yo Ho!

They seem to have the hot hand

Electric Dreamer (w/ Seduction) vs Gypsy Rose

With a new manager I guess Dreamer is the pick although I assumed she is a face and Seduction is a heel (right? I don't know the manager but will look into the bios)

Main Event

Deborah Young and Kate Avatar vs Generations (Sista Kass and Thea Davis)

Bonus Questions (one point each):

Will Deborah Young give Kate Avatar the Queen of the Ring belt back? Yeah but before taking the match I can see her demanding that Kate give her a title shot

After finishing 1st in March's regional battle, where will DPW finish this month (out of 5)? 1st

Tiebreaker (Price is Right Rules):

What will the attendance for the show be (All In All IV drew 138)? 141

Watching Sasha and Charlotte main event a PPV (or whatever WWE is calling them today) and Sexy Star win the title on Lucha Underground (no matter how long she actually keeps that belt) has made me glad I decided to start paying attention to women in wrestling instead of using their matches as a bathroom break. <p>Thanks for the shoutout. <img alt=":)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p>

Reading the What Could Have Been chapter, it strikes me that not as much time has passed as one might think. It's more or less the same names today, except a few veterans that has moved on. </p><p> </p><p>

To me that gives the current roster some additional weight as the ones that chose to come back (and that Kate Avatar *wanted* back) share that history. </p><p> </p><p>

I would kind of like to hear some of their perspectives on what transpired and Kate's part in it. Emma Bitch or Thea Davis, perhaps? Just an idea...</p><p> </p><p>

I love the heel manager/babyface worker pairing. Lots of story potential.</p>

<p>great job!</p><p> </p><p>

One of the silent readers here. I do not predict much anywhere so you may not see me much. I wanted to thank KingJames, Dr Avalance and of course you MrWolf for potraying Women in Clverse. These Dynasties are great way to understand and explore ClVerse. These praise is for all three of you. Keep up the good work.</p><p> </p><p>

I believe you have done a great job to portray this. I already have Tew2013 and 2016 though I never played with women's promotion ever, but after reading your dynasties, I don't see women division in USPW as a chore or I also see Sara York, J-RO, Fuyuko Higa and Alicia Strong as good as Cornells or Champions now.</p>

<p>Chapter 29 Interlude: The Boss Man Cometh</p><p> </p><p>

</p><p><span>http://i.imgur.com/1Hyvuq0.jpg</span></p><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

“Jackson, I told you not to smoke those things in here.”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

</div><span>http://i.imgur.com/nSUqQGk.jpg</span><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Jackson ‘Boss Man’ Brayfield looks down at the lit match in his hand, and after a moment of contemplative thought, shakes the flame out. As a replacement for inhaling in the rich fumes of the cigar clenched between his teeth, the consultant chomps on the rolled Cuban tobacco in between words, “My apologies Miss Avatar.”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Hell Cat looks over at the freshly patched wall of her home/office at Piper Casino before turning back to the head booker of QAW, “Now if we can get down to the business at hand, you said there was something we urgently needed to discuss.”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Boss Man shifts in his seat, his white suit immaculate as always, “Yes, I’ve happened to come across some information through the various means available to me. It seems IPW is set to launch an all-out negative campaign against DPW. Now that GSW is out of the way, Gil Thomas sees you as the next biggest threat to his company.”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

“But how can that be?! We don’t even have the same wrestlers, appeal to the same crowds!” Kate can not help but sound exasperated as she pounds on her desk to punctuate each sentence. After the record-setting success of All In All IV, Avatar figured she would at least have a little bit of time to celebrate this small triumph. Instead, it is yet another crisis forming at her doorstep.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

“True, but it’s like when you’re at a cocktail party and you’re low on the totem pole. Mister Thomas wants to make himself look better by finding the ugliest person in the room to stand next to, and that’s you.”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Kate blinks several times, wondering if she should be insulted by Brayfield’s words, or take his unabashed bluntness as confirmation of why she hired him in the first place. After all, people in the industry thought she was crazy for bringing in the head booker of one of DPW’s main competitors, but everything Jackson had advised her on had worked out so far, “So what do we do?”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

A thin smile comes over Brayfield’s lips, “The main way IPW is going to attack you is by comparing their production values to yours. They see DPW as a third-rate amateur hour, and they’re going to make sure everyone else thinks that way too…so we strike first. Starting with Red Alert, we get custom ring aprons, hire real editors. You can keep the casino staffers running the live event experience, but we need to have a hard cam with two additional rovers instead of just someone’s nephew.”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

As Boss Man’s Texas drawl washes over her, all Kate can hear is the ringing of a cash register, “I mean…how much is this going to cost?”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Brayfield shifts again in his seat, “If I’m being honest, around $20,000 per year.”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

“$20,000?! We can’t…”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

“I know what you’re going to say, but the truth is Miss Avatar, you can’t afford </div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><em>not</em></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"> to do this. In this business, you’re either growin’ or you’re dyin’. IPW has about $2 million in the bank, meaning they will win any war of attrition. The only way to save DPW is to give them a knockout blow from the start. Turn it so that they look a fool for trashing you, make what they are saying so false that even the village idiot can see it. When that happens, no one will believe what IPW says about DPW ever again.”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Kate turns towards the booking plans hanging from her office walls, but her mind is on the company’s bank account. Taking the steps Boss Man is recommending would mean putting DPW in debt by the end of the year, and if this plan didn’t work, the company might never recover. Despite this, Hell Cat knows her consultant is right, DPW can’t just tread water. For all the blood, sweat, and tears she has put into the company, the goal was never to just build a nice, local promotion out of Las Vegas.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

“Listen Miss Avatar, you brought me in for one reason, and one reason only, my connections. My contract is very clear that all I have to do is increase DPW’s sponsorship income by $10,000 over the course of my first year to get my 5% ownership stake. I don’t even have to be here telling you this kind of stuff, but I feel like I have a duty to help this company as much as I can. You can take my advice, or leave it, it’s really up to you.”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Kate’s thoughts drift to the worst possible scenario, that this is all a set-up by Farrah Hesketh, that Brayfield is simply a double agent looking to bring DPW down from the inside. Getting the company to spend beyond its means would certainly be one of the ways to do so, despite the non-disclosure clause in Boss Man’s contract that prohibits him from talking either promotion’s business with the other. At the same time, Jackson has been right about Charity, right about Electric Dreamer, right about taking the handcuffs off of the high fliers and letting them shine, “Alright…let’s do it.”</div><p></p>

I've always been a bit youth-obsessed in my booking, but it does have the side-benefit of wrestlers being at the top of the card for a longer time, even if it's before they are ready for it.</p><p> </p><p> I like that idea about the BSC alums perspective. This was kind of hinted at in Emma's first promo, but you've given me idea for a flashback involving Thea, so expect to see that between Red Alert and Bitter Harvest. <img alt=":D" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="SanX" data-cite="SanX" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="41787" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>One of the silent readers here. I have found that I've become much more attached to the women in the C-Verse than men from playing these promotions, as the pool of women wrestlers is much smaller so each one feels more unique and special. I think it would be cool to see a USPW diary where the company's second TV show is exclusively for the Women's division, if anybody is interested in doing anything like that. <img alt=":)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p>

I think I missed something about the last card. Why was there a hole in the wall in Kate's office/apartment? In this last chapter it sounded like Gorgon was the culprit, but why? Was it some sort of screw job or promise by the Bossman or did something else happen?

<p>My assumption was that when the match was booked, he got a message along the lines of "Gorgon is extremely unhappy with the booking of this match, do you want to continue anyway?" and since Gorgon was a one-time appearance (again, an assumption), there wasn't really any reason to keep her happy with a more favorable booking.</p><p> </p><p>

Just my interpretation, mind.</p>
