I think this is starting to change with Jordan becoming champ, but it reminds me of a kid playing with action figures. <img alt=":)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="kingjames" data-cite="kingjames" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="41787" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>The idea of Simony Sentinel, dark avenger, is a great take on her. She started out pretty close to the bright pink pop-punk (her official gimmick was Cute Nerd), but I want to show the toll that the storyline business can take on someone.</p><p> </p><p> For those that haven't guessed, Bayley is my template for Simony, and I'd like to see WWE do something similar with Bayley to give her character a more serious edge. Something in this vein (though much less extreme) was done in NXT to give her character some nuance before her Women's title run, and I think it would give the fans a reason to root for her (instead of, you know, just relying on NXT history).</p><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="kingjames" data-cite="kingjames" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="41787" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><p> Shame that Ursula Saez didn't work out. Ursula want $500 per show for her new contract, and I couldn't justify that for someone with poor popularity/momentum/gimmick and a storyline that was scrapped. She only got in one backstage fight (with Ellie May Watson, so who can blame her <img alt=":D" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />), and just letting her contract expire means she can come back at some point down the road with refreshed momentum and without the firing penalty.</p><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="kingjames" data-cite="kingjames" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="41787" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><p> I wonder, if I play my diary for a decade and you play yours for a decade, if poor Sarah Taylor/Sparkell will ever get a damned win between the two of us?</p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> Too true. <img alt=":p" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /> Sarah is on a one-year contract with DPW, as basically a test run to see if there is anything there. <p>Chapter 31 Flashback: Say Goodnight to the Bad Guy</p><p> </p><p>

<em>Four years earlier…</em></p><p> </p><p>

<div style="border: solid 5px #C5B358;"></p><p>

</p><p><span>http://i.imgur.com/1Hyvuq0.jpg</span></p><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Kate Avatar, standing at the threshold of Honey Golighty’s office, looks down at the envelope in her hand. Knowing that her resignation letter is folded neatly within does not bring Kate much comfort, and she takes in a long breath before stepping into the room.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

“Honey, we need to talk,” Hell Cat walks closer to Honey’s desk, but the owner of BSC does not acknowledge the presence of her head booker. After several moments of silence, Avatar clears her throat before speaking again, “I have…good news. Brooke Tyler is finally willing to sign with us. Now, it’s going to take a big amount, maybe $25,000 a month, but…”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

</div><span>http://i.imgur.com/F6dcPQj.jpg</span><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

“No…” the word is barely a whisper as it leaves Golightly’s lips, but it is sharp enough to cut right to the heart of Kate.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Clutching the envelope tighter between her fingers, Avatar’s eyes narrow, “Honey, if you’ll just hear me out, I think you’ll find…”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

“I said no!” the owner of BSC slams her fist on her desk and then looks up from her stack of paperwork with dark circles under her blood-shot eyes.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

“Look Honey, I didn’t fight you when you refused to resign Joanne, when you refused to resign Jaime, Amber, and Nadia, but I can’t keep losing main eventers like this. I can only create stars so fast; Maria’s at least a year away, Claire probably two. Brooke is what we’ve dreamed about all along, a girl with crossover appeal that we can push straight to the moon.”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

“No, we can’t afford it,” Golightly mumbles before returning to the paperwork in front of her.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Letting out a sigh, Kate moves closer to her boss' desk with the resignation letter outstretched, “Then I’m afraid I have to…”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Before Hell Cat can finish her sentence, Honey breaks out in uncontrollable sobbing. Golightly’s wails fill the office as the tears roll down her face, until she is finally able to stutter out a few words, “Kate…they’re…they’re going to kill me.”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Avatar’s eyebrows arch and she gently puts her hand on the back of her boss, “What are you talking about? Who’s going to kill you?”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Honey tries to wipe away the lines of mascara running down her cheeks, but succeeds in only smearing black all over her face, “Some very, very bad people. I knew I shouldn’t have ever gone into business with them…but it was the only way to get the money to start BSC.”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

“Wait…what are you saying?”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

“We were never supposed to get this big,” Honey dabs away more tears from her eyes before continuing, “One of the cartels, they knew I was looking to start my own promotion and they made me an offer I couldn’t refuse. They would front me what I needed to get BSC off the ground, and all I’d have to do in return is launder some money through the company. Things were good at first, but then they wanted to do bigger and bigger amounts, way more than I could cover up without growing BSC. That’s when I brought you on...but you were too good. The cartel saw how much our attendance was growing, how much press we were getting, and they decided to milk us for all we’re worth. First it was a cut of the merch sales, then giving them the contracts to build the arena…now they want one final payment.”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

“How much is it?”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

“How much? All of it, but even that won’t be enough. You see, we’ve got more than $4 million in the bank, but it really should be $6 million, and they know it. They’ve been sending me more and more money to launder, but last year I stopped depositing it.”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

“Honey, you’ve been stealing from a cartel!? Have you lost your mind?!”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

“I know, I know. It was so stupid, but I just got so mad. I saw how hard I was working, how hard all of us were working, and I just wanted my piece. I wanted to live like I should have been living.”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

“Okay, okay. We can survive this. All you have to do is get the money you stole and combined with what’s in our bank account, that should be enough to buy them off.”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

While Avatar strikes a hopeful tone, Golightly responds by rolling her eyes, “Oh come on Kate, it’s all gone! I spent it. How do you think I got my new house, and those cars, and those trips?”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Hell Cat takes a step back, the weight of Honey’s confession starting to set in, “So what then?”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

The face of BSC's owner tightens as she grabs a set of documents from off her desk, “Just sign this and then come to the bank with me on Monday."</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Kate flips through the papers, her eyes fluttering as she skims, “Honey, this is to close BSC’s main account.”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

“Yes. Just think about it. $4 million, we can leave, me and you. We can go as far away from here as we can,” Golightly reaches out and grabs Avatar’s wrist, Honey’s desperation making her grip surprisingly strong.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

“Honey, you’re talking crazy. What about the girls?! What about Line in the Sand?!”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

“Kate, it was always going to end this way. We have to look out for ourselves now.”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Horrified by her friend's nonchalant tone, Hell Cat pulls away, and starts to head for the door, “I can’t abandon them, Honey, and you shouldn’t either. If you don’t go to the cops, I will. I’ll wait until after Line in the Sand, but you need to do the right thing here.”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Kate hesitates for one more moment before exiting the office, leaving Golightly alone with her thoughts.</div><p></div></p><p>

<strong>OOC:</strong> <em>Big thanks to MisterRomanini for selecting this flashback as the reward for the Bitter Harvest prediction contest! This is something I've thought about doing since the beginning of this diary, so it was fun to finally write it down. There is another flashback that is part of this prize, but that won't be posted until after Heat Check in September.</em> <img alt=":)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p>

But you should know, just because we’ve been partners for five years now, doesn’t mean I’ll go easy on you. The pair largely succeed, sending the fans buzzing with a series of stiff shots that demonstrate the two are definitely not holding anything back. The only item that detracts from the action is a lack of chemistry between the tag team partners, which is disappointing considering their long-time affiliation.</div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> Despite a few awkward sequences, Winters and Flame still put on tremendous performances, even pulling out a couple of new moves to match the occasion of their first bout. All signs of joy are gone from Sentinel’s face as she brawls with her opponent, a scowl replacing Simony’s usual bouncy demeanor.</div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> Only a minute into their fight, it becomes clear that Thea and her opponent share an instant chemistry, the two perfectly matched with their combination of flashy offense and athleticism. Engaging in a series of high spots, Sentinel flies through the air only to be tossed hard to the floor by Davis. Climbing up to the top turnbuckle, the Englishwoman leaps to hit the Violent Violet with an Axe Kick to the back of the neck, but at the last second, Simony rolls out of the way.</div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> Her head crashing into an empty chair in the front row, Davis sprawls on the theater floor while Sentinel gets to her feet. With blood flowing into her eyes, the Japanese brawler grabs one of the steel chairs on the canvas and moves to strike Kathy across the back with the weapon. As Mochizuki winds up, Ariel jumps up onto the ring apron, which is enough of a distraction to allow McMahon time to roll out of the way of the blow.</div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> While Nami moves to pull Breaks back down to the floor, Kathy gets to her feet and delivers a Glittering Jawbreaker to Kaori. <p>Prediction Contest Standings and Card for Heat Check</p><p> </p><p> If I can be a bit meta for a minute, while I am happy with the way the write-up turned out, I must admit that this is probably the worst job in terms of in game booking I've done in awhile. Outside of not including any follow up for the Glorious Monsters vs Raiden feud, using the 'Calm the Crowd' note in the tag title match sucked the momentum out of the rest of the show with only one more match to go before the main event. The main event was also a disappointment in of itself, though a lot of that has to do with the high bar Kate vs Kass set for the company, and Deborah not having built up enough momentum to get in the ballpark of Kate's performance.</p><p> </p><p> Oh well, live and learn. <img alt=":D" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> Onto the prediction contest standings after the first show, with DarEatWorld leading the way, and two more shows remaining.</p><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="41787" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><strong>1st Place - DarEatWorld: 10 points</strong><p> 2nd Place - MisterRomanini: 8 points</p><p> 3rd Place - kingjames: 7 points</p><p> 4th Place - Dr_Avalanche: 6 points</p><p> 5th Place - theheel: 5 points</p><p> </p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> DarEatWorld did have an advantage by knowing the result of the Venus Tournament, though this accounted for only two points out of a possible thirteen. There will be plenty of opportunities for points coming up, starting with the card for Heat Check, so don't give up yet, as I think the winner will be especially happy with getting to pick the result that comes along with the prize. <img alt=":)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> Heat Check is a packed show, which is ironic since I was planning on going straight to Ashes in the Fall before Simony won the tournament. There will also be three interludes before Heat Check, so the show will likely be posted around January 11. Additionally, the third interlude will cover an event that is the biggest thing I have ever seen happen in a game, not to overhype it or anything. <img alt=";)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/wink.png.686f06e511ee1fbf6bdc7d82f6831e53.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="41787" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Card for Heat Check</span></strong><p> </p><p> <strong>Pre-Show:</strong></p><p> Ariel Breaks vs Sarah Sparkell</p><p> Generation NOW vs Raiden</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Main Show:</strong></p><p> <strong>For a spot in the 6-Woman DPW Queen of the Ring Body Count Match at Ashes in the Fall</strong></p><p> Deborah Young vs Thea Davis</p><p> </p><p> Marie Punnen vs Sista Kass (if Marie wins, she gets her job back)</p><p> </p><p> <strong>For the Deuces Wild Tag Team Titles</strong></p><p> Ladies Reborn (w/ Roxy Kitten) vs Yo Ho! ©</p><p> </p><p><strong> No Disqualification Match for the DPW Athena Warrior Title</strong></p><p> Electric Warrior (w/ Seduction) vs Killer Kathy McMahon ©</p><p> </p><p> <strong>For a spot in the 6-Woman DPW Queen of the Ring Body Count Match at Ashes in the Fall</strong></p><p> Claire Winters vs Gorgon</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Main Event for the DPW Queen of the Ring Title</strong></p><p> Kate Avatar © vs Simony Sentinel</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Bonus Points (One Point Each)</strong></p><p> How many titles will change hands during the show?</p><p> The Queen of the Ring title will be defended at Ashes in the Fall in a 6-Woman Body Count Match (think Elimination Chamber). Two of the spots will be determined at Heat Check. Who will be the other four entrants announced during the show? (one point for each correctly named wrestler; an additional bonus point for guessing the common theme among the four)</p><p> Where will DPW finish in September's Regional Battle (out of 5)?</p><p> </p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> Also, if I missed calculated anyone's scores in the current standings (remember the main events are always worth two points), just let me know, as it always possible, and I have a feeling this contest will come down to either the tiebreaker or one point.</p>

I'm not sure if this is because of their destiny roll in this playthrough, or if they've developed that much in the ring (Polly was truly awful when she started). It could also be the pop over performance nature of DPW's product, but neither member of Yo Ho! is that over to make that much of a difference.</p><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="kingjames" data-cite="kingjames" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="41787" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><p> I Quit Match for the DPW Athena Warrior Title</p><p> Kaori Mochizuki vs Killer Kathy McMahon ©</p><p> <em>I don't think Kaori even gets a chance to fight in this one, with someone taking her out before the bell can even ring.</em></p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> So after seeing the predictions come in, I can see how this match looked to be the perfect candidate for the non-match. I didn't intend it to be a red herring, I really just wanted Kathy to face off against another brawler to maximize the match rating for the Wild Brawl road agent note. I think my lack of follow up with the Glorious Monsters or explanation of how Kaori got the match didn't help.</p><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="kingjames" data-cite="kingjames" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="41787" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><p> One member of the roster will interrupt Raven Nightfall's retirement celebration for an impromptu match. She went from D pop in the South West to C-, and is now more over than Kate. I'll credit it to her looking like an unstoppable monster again, not just stealing Raven's pop by beating her. <img alt=":p" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="Dr_Avalanche" data-cite="Dr_Avalanche" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="41787" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>Pre-Show Matches<p> Emiko Miyoshi vs <strong>Velvet Suarez</strong> (just so people know - this will be covered in the roster update - but Ursula Saez is really being released once her contract expires in August)</p><p> <em>I think Velvet gets a small push starting here, to see if she can swim on her own or if she sinks without a tag team partner.</em></p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> Velvet is an interesting case. I keep getting in-game messages that she is a future star, but she only puts in star-level performances against wrestlers that are smaller than her. Considering she is small herself, this leaves only a handful of people on the roster that fall into this category, unfortunately. Still, I think there is a there there, so we shall see.</p><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="Dr_Avalanche" data-cite="Dr_Avalanche" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="41787" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><p> <em>Look, I love Kate Avatar, but if there is one opponent I'd rather watch Deborah Young face it is Thea Davis. She really hasn't done anything wrong, and I can't say she doesn't deserve a main event push as her performances are near the top tier of workers in the company. Her main issue is being tied to Laura, who is slightly better in the ring and slightly better on the mic (though Claire has shined when given opportunities). Great show. I feel I've lost the bead on whatever is going to happen next, but that's an enjoyable feeling. Being a wrestling fan mixes contradicting emotions. On one hand, we want stories to make sense - if A happens and then B, C should follow - but at the same time, we live for the unexpected, when, despite it all making sense you're still surprised. So I guess what I'm saying is I really enjoy not seeing what you have planned. :)

Card for Heat Check

Pre-Show:

Ariel Breaks vs Sarah Sparkell

Ariel has been reduced to second fiddle for a while now but I don't see why she couldn't step up to be a more prominent heel.

Generation NOW vs Raiden

Raiden could be the future, but Generation NOW is the present.

Main Show:

For a spot in the 6-Woman DPW Queen of the Ring Body Count Match at Ashes in the Fall

Deborah Young vs Thea Davis

Yeah! Shenanigans won't stop Deborah.

Marie Punnen vs Sista Kass (if Marie wins, she gets her job back)

It would be hilarious if Punnen won on a technicality, but can you even convince Kass to eat a loss to someone like Marie?

For the Deuces Wild Tag Team Titles

Ladies Reborn (w/ Roxy Kitten) vs Yo Ho! ©

I keep getting it wrong, but Ladies Reborn would have so much to lose by losing to a comedy act. I think it's their time.

No Disqualification Match for the DPW Athena Warrior Title

Electric Warrior (w/ Seduction) vs Killer Kathy McMahon ©

Electric Dreamer gets murdered. Getting involved with Seduction was a terrible decision.

For a spot in the 6-Woman DPW Queen of the Ring Body Count Match at Ashes in the Fall

Claire Winters vs Gorgon

I'm a fan of Claire, but Gorgon has eaten enough losses. Time to show what she's made of.

Main Event for the DPW Queen of the Ring Title

Kate Avatar © vs Simony Sentinel

I don't see any particular reason why Simony need to win the belt other than to keep good momentum going, but it's not like Kate lacks momentum either. I give Kate something like 80-20 chances.

Bonus Points (One Point Each)

How many titles will change hands during the show? Tag team belt only. So one.

The Queen of the Ring title will be defended at Ashes in the Fall in a 6-Woman Body Count Match (think Elimination Chamber). Two of the spots will be determined at Heat Check. Who will be the other four entrants announced during the show? (one point for each correctly named wrestler; an additional bonus point for guessing the common theme among the four): Past and present Queen of the ring holders? Kate Avatar, Simony Sentinel, Laura Flame and Sista Kass?

Where will DPW finish in September's Regional Battle (out of 5)? 2nd

<p>Chapter 32 Interlude: Bar None</p><p> </p><p>

<em>One month earlier…</em></p><p> </p><p>

</p><p><span>http://i.imgur.com/1Hyvuq0.jpg</span></p><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

“Hey Mickey, una cerveza por favor,“ Kate Avatar sits alone at the end of the bar at DPW’s original home, several empty shot glasses splayed out in front her.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

“You done with tequila Hell Cat?” Mickey cleans a glass with a dirty rag while eying Kate skeptically.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

“Yeah, I’ve still got to work tonight,” Avatar's head sways back and forth as she watches Mickey put a bottle of Corona down on the bar. Kate immediately grabs the beer and starts downing its contents.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

</div><span>http://i1383.photobucket.com/albums/ah283/DarEatWorld/Karma%20Kollopy%20First_zpsrldds0to.jpg</span><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

“Hey, you’re Kate Avatar aren’t you?! Hell Cat?”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Avatar turns her head to the excited voice approaching her from the left. After taking one look at the man with long hair, Kate shifts her attention back to the beer in her hand.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

“I’m a really big fan. I’ve been to more DPW shows than I can count. I even travelled all the way to Los Angeles for the last one.” </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

“Oh yeah, what did you think?” Avatar’s posture relaxes and she lazily motions for the fan to sit down on the stool next to her.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

“Thanks, the name’s Karma. I mean, it was good. I’m curious to see where everything is going.”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

“You and me both,” Kate sarcastically says before taking another long sip from her beer and signaling Mickey to bring her a second one.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

“Oh.”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Hell Cat looks over to Karma and through her drunkenness, realizes her words may have come out too sharp, “Sorry, didn’t mean to be harsh. I’ve just got a lot on my mind. Something happened after Bitter Harvest that I’m not quite sure what to do about.”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Sitting on the stool, Karma drums his fingers on the bar, “No worries. I’m sure you’ll figure it out.” </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

“Let’s hope so,” after a few more seconds of awkward silence, Kate turns back to the man sitting next to her, "Who do you think should win the next Venus Tournament?"</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Karma blinks a couple of times, somewhat stunned that the booker of DPW would ask a fan this question, “Well, only Thea, Laura, Claire and Simony are left, right? To be honest, Winters hasn’t totally grabbed me yet, though I do like her. I wouldn't let Flame win it again, I just don't think she needs it right now. That leaves Thea Davis finally proving that she can hit the very top of the mountain or Simony Sentinel getting back to the peak. Personally, I think, after all that she's been through and all that she's given to DPW, especially in the early days, the story of 'The Violent Violet' putting her head down and working her way through every obstacle to come out on top again, that would be a beautiful moment! That is a moment I would want to be there for!”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Kate pauses mid-sip, impressed by the passion and thoughtfulness in the man’s answer, “And what if I told you Gorgon is a choice?”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

“Gorgon? Nah, it might just be that I don't know her that well, but I think Kass and Deborah Young are monsters enough. If you have many more you're just diluting their individual impact.”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Processing this information, Avatar goes back to her beer, losing herself in the different possibilities that could come from a Simony win in the tournament.</div><p></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>OOC:</strong> <em>Thanks to DarEatWorld for doing the original write-up that is the basis for this interlude. The original write-up is brilliant, so I hope this does it justice. I hope it's okay that I included Karma's picture in the post too. </em><img alt=":D" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p>

<p>Chapter 32 Flashback: You Can’t Always Go Home</p><p> </p><p>

<em>Four years earlier…</em></p><p> </p><p>

</p><p><span>http://i.imgur.com/BtwT5LL.jpg</span></p><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Sitting in a Berlin restaurant on a chilly November day in 2015, Thea Davis can’t help but think back on how she got here. Coming back to the Continent with her tail between her legs was something she never imagined she would have to do when she was moving up the ranks of BSC. Hell, even if she got perpetually stuck in the midcard of the company, it was still 100 times better than she could have hoped for in Europe or the British Isles.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Due to the pay per appearance nature of BSC contracts, and the five shows the company held each month, Thea had made $17,500 in June alone, with all of her travel expenses covered to boot. In Europe, she’d be lucky to get $1,000 per show, for only one show a month, and she would have to cover her own airfare, not to mention lodging.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

“And somehow I spent it all,” Thea mutters to herself while she waits for the other half of her meeting to show up.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Of course, her BSC contract had been assumed by AAA during the bankruptcy proceedings, but her ego had gotten in the way of just putting her head down and cashing Catherine Quine's checks. Even before Dharma Gregg staged her now infamous walk out during Battle of the Babes, Davis had been let go at that show for getting in an altercation with Steph Blake.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

</div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><em>“Hey rookie!”</em></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"> Blake’s taunt still reverberates through Thea’s mind daily, but Davis knows she could have handled the situation better. </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Better might be an understatement. Instead of just letting this snide remark slide on her first night in an AAA locker room, Thea got right into the face of her former British Bombshells tag team partner. After letting Steph know that she was never good enough for BSC, along with calling her a “Manc twat,” the two came to blows. With Davis being the outsider, she was promptly thrown out of the building, the notice that her contract was being terminated ‘with cause’ received the next day.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

With AAA out of the question and QAW scared off by this episode, Thea called the only other person she could think of, and after being thirty minutes late, she looks up to see him finally entering the restaurant.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

</div><span>http://i.imgur.com/XvvqIru.jpg</span><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

“Welcome back to Berlin,” Byron, in his faux-royalty tinted English accent, sweeps his bleached blonde hair behind his right ear as he takes a seat across from his former employee.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

“Thank you. It’s, uh, good to be back.”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

“Ha, you never were one for pleasantries Thea, were you?” Byron signals for a waiter, and after whispering something to the well-dressed man, shoos him away. “We both know you wouldn’t be here unless you needed a job.”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Davis shuffles her hands over one another as she fails to hide her nervousness, “Yes, you’re right. I’m sure you heard about BSC?”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

“Yes, quite a shame to see another company go out of business, but not a surprise.”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

“So…I’m hoping that EWA has a spot for me. I know I didn’t leave on the best of terms, but I think my profile in the States can really help take the company’s Women’s division to the next level.”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

While Byron opens his mouth to speak again, the waiter returns with a bottle of wine, which the owner of EWA gives one look over before nodding his head in approval. After pouring Byron and then Thea a glass, the waiter leaves the bottle on the table as he retreats back to where he came from, “Thea, do you know what the best part of German Reunification was? All of the people in this country could finally stop being ashamed of being capitalists.”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

“Uh huh,” while Byron takes a sip from his glass, Davis leaves hers untouched. </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

“I guess what I’m trying to say, Thea, is that this comes down to simple supply and demand. Women’s wrestling is the least of my concerns, mostly because the Europeans don’t care about it, or haven’t been given a reason to care about it. Sure, I’d love to see women have more opportunities here, it’s not like anyone back home is hiring them, but I can’t afford to be a trailblazer. EWA’s has its women, but we’ve only got a limited number of spots. With these Japanese ones on excursion willing to work for peanuts, we’re pretty much all filled up.”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Thea lets out a sigh and looks towards the door, thinking about how she should have saved more of her money when she had the chance, “I knew this would be a waste of time.”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

The Englishwoman starts to rise from her seat, but Byron stops her by gently grabbing her hand, “Now, now, now. Nothing is ever a waste. Maybe there’s another arrangement we can come to.” With a twinkle in his eye and a twisted smile on his lips, the owner of EWA begins caressing Davis’ arm.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

While Thea feels her skin crawl, she doesn’t pull away, and with her free hand, picks up her glass of wine.</div><p></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>OOC:</strong> <em>Thanks to Dr_Avalanche for suggesting this flashback. I might do a series about how each BSC worker handled the collapse of the company (hey, that's a good idea for a prediction prize </em><img alt=":)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><em>) as I think it helps flesh out how damaging such a failure was to all involved. Well, except for Alicia Strong and her clique, who had USPW to fall back on.</em></p>

Sympathy for Thea will be an interesting emotion considering how her kayfabe character continues to act.</p><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="Theheel" data-cite="Theheel" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="41787" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><strong>Sounds like Kate needs a sugar daddy to help bail out the company. Was that a real game save you had or just storyline?</strong></p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> Yeah, $50k isn't looking too bad when creditors are starting to pound on Kate's door. Thankfully, with the loan coming in December, DPW will at least make it to All In All V.</p><p> </p><p> I think the main factor hurting DPW's attendance (or at least suppressing it) is that I started with 0 momentum, which seems to be a big factor in calculating attendance. The wrestling industry has also been down almost the whole time, only just getting back to where it was at the start of the game (B), which really hampered DPW’s growth considering how many shows have been run. A lot of the lack of momentum has to do with losing regional battles, as well as not really doing any big signings (Gorgon and Kass have been the only ones I've noted that have moved the needle). Only recently has attendance started to pick up, and All In All V should pass 200 (it's the small victories).</p><p> </p><p> You are correct that BSC had weekly shows (on TV no less) building to a 'PPV-like' event each month (I'm a child of WWE so it's all I know). Attendance peaked at around 9,000 in early 2015 before the loss of main eventers hurt the company's momentum. This was an actual save done in TEW 2010, and I put more hours into it than I'd care to admit. <img alt=":)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> Speaking of Victoria...</p>

</div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><strong><em>F*cking Eisens get everything. My father spent half his life building this company, and now we’re going to give it all…</em></strong></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

</div><span>http://i.imgur.com/aDljGie.jpg</span><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

“Vicky, how good it is to see you. I'm guessing you're taking a little break from the negotiations,” Jerry Eisen approaches a pacing Victoria Stone-McFly in the lobby of NOTBPW’s legal counsel thirty floors up in a downtown Toronto high-rise.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

“Jerry, you’re looking about as well as could be expected,” while the eldest son of Richard Eisen stands with his hand outstretched, Victoria dismisses the gesture with one cold look of disdain. </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

</div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><strong><em>Wipe that smug f*cking smile off your face you inbred twit or I’ll do it for you. Just because your father exploited his way to the top doesn’t mean I’m going to kiss your ass.</em></strong></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

“Well then, is your husband with you today?”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><strong>

</strong></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><strong><em>No, I can make decisions for myself, you asshole. Not that it matters. My dumbass brothers are falling over themselves to get your money, so my vote sure as hell won’t matter.</em></strong></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

“No, he leaves the business side of things to me. Will your father be joining us or would that mean they would have to unfreeze his head?”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Jerry lets out a slight scoff, but retains his confident posture, “No, Dick just signs the checks. This is all my idea, so I’m running the show.” </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

</div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><strong><em>Right, like daddy ever lets you off the leash.</em></strong></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

“Well, it certainly is a historic day.”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

</div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><strong><em>Mainly because I’m about to know what it feels like to sell my soul to the devil.</em></strong></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

“Extremely. It </div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><em>is</em></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"> a shame Sean’s not here. I was hoping to discuss with him how to handle this in the Canadian media should he get asked any questions.”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><strong>

</strong></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><strong><em>You can tell me you little prick. But you’ve dismissed me just as quickly as your little minions did my booking plans when I shared those with them.</em></strong></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Before Victoria can open her mouth again, Jerry parts the doors to the conference room, and when Dan Stone’s only daughter follows him in, she finds the SWF and NOTBPW lawyers talking up a storm, her brothers Jeremy, Duane and Dan Jr sitting in the middle of the two groups, just as she had left them fifteen minutes earlier.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

“Ah, gentlemen, the main event is here!” SWF’s lawyers explode into laughter as Jerry makes a wide-sweeping gesture with his left arm before sitting down at the head of the table.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

</div><span>http://i.imgur.com/O7d3pd2.jpg</span><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

“Good of you to finally get here, Jerry. We were just finalizing some of the details,” Jeremy remains stone faced as Victoria takes her seat across from her eldest brother.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

“Nothing that would screw me over too much, I hope,” SWF’s lawyers burst into another round of forced laughter at Jerry’s quip, while a thick bundle of papers is slid in front of Victoria.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

</div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><strong><em>$60 million, $60 million is all it took for you three to sell our family out. I should have known better. I should have made dad give me all of the company when I had the chance instead of letting him split it up between us. We’re lucky he isn’t dead otherwise he’d be turning over in his grave.</em></strong></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

“So if we can all review the terms of the deal and provide signatures where indicated, we can close this transaction and have the funds transmitted by the end of the week,” NOTBPW’s head legal counsel stands up to begin a PowerPoint presentation on the finer points of SWF’s acquisition of the company, while Victoria starts reading through her packet.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

About thirty minutes into her review, the head booker of NOTBPW finds a paragraph she does not remember reading in previous versions, “Wait, what does this mean? ‘NOTBPW (the Party) shall be responsible for the termination and payment of all outstanding contracts effective upon the close of the transaction. SWF (the Acquirer) shall under no circumstances assume any liability nor any of the prior agreements entered into by the Party.’”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

The men in the room stop their discussion as Jeremy turns to his sister, “Uh, Vicky, we didn’t get a chance to mention this to you, but some aspects of the deal have changed.”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Dan Stone’s only daughter reads further, the implications of the passage becoming clear to her, “What the f*ck Jeremy?! They’re supposed to keep us open as their Canadian brand! How many people are going to be put out of work because of this?!”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

While Victoria stares holes through her three brothers, Jerry Eisen drums his fingers on the rare tropical wood of the conference table, “How can we put this Vicky? SWF has decided there is no value in keeping NOTBPW open. It’s a tired name, a tired concept, one that really doesn’t </div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><em>mesh</em></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"> with our core values. Once we get you out of the way, we can establish SWF as the premier company in this market.” </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Victoria only gives Richard Eisen’s eldest son a cursory glance before turning her gaze back to her brothers, “And you three are okay with this?!”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

</div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><strong><em>Damn it! We don’t need these f*ckers! David is the best young wrestler on the planet, and Lucy is only a year or so away from debuting. We can build around them, renew the Stone name, and destroy these New York assholes at their own game.</em></strong></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

</div><span>http://i.imgur.com/EMe8Jxw.jpg</span><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

“Vicky, it’s a lot of money, and…” Dan Jr’s calm voice can barely be heard by the others in the room, but Victoria knows exactly what he means.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

</div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><strong><em>…and if I hadn’t spent everything we had already.</em></strong></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Rising from her seat, the head booker of NOTBPW finds the pages of her packet marked with yellow ‘Sign Here’ stickers and hurriedly scribbles her name in the blank spaces, “Fine. Enjoy your blood money, but you can build your filthy world without me.”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Storming back to the lobby, Victoria makes sure to slam the large wooden door shut behind her on her way out, at which point the men in the conference room go back to finalizing the sale of NOTBPW to SWF.</div><p></p><p>

</p><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Holy crap!

What's amazing to me is that, at least through the first six or so months of my diary, NOTBPW was consistently running the highest-rated shows, possibly in the entire world. But they did always seem to be on the verge of falling to Cult, despite those massive show scores. Still, for them not just to fall to cult, but to be bought completely out...cannot say that I would have seen that coming. I would have expecting CGC to have gone out of business way before NOTBPW.

Of course, one woman's loss may be another woman's gain. NOTBPW is one of only two outfits that will poach women workers with written contracts. Basically, at this point, the only company you'll have to watch out for in terms of stealing away your workers is USPW. And it should mean there's suddenly an influx of talent showing up on the market. Maybe, with a 50k loan, there's funding for a talent acquisition that can push DPW into the black instead of bleeding cash.

Then again, given the state of DPW's finances, Kate might have to wind up just watching as Catherine Quine and AAA reaps the benefits, just like they did when BSC closed...

It is quite a shocker seeing such a major player on the market suddenly just being devoured. The wastefulness is just amazing. If you make an acquisition like that, why not at the very least cherry pick the best workers and bring them over to SWF? Not to mention just throwing away the brand.

I'm not sure the economy in the game is flexible enough to account for a sudden glut in available talent. Supply and demand should suggest an availability of cheaper labor for a while, but I imagine available workers will probably request just about as much pay per show as before NOTBPW went out of business, but at least there should be some exciting names suddenly become available. Exciting times! :)

The new National Battle system has definitely up-ended this.</p><p> </p><p> NOTBPW fluctuated between Cult and National since the beginning of the game, most recently falling to Cult in June 2019. I think that might have been the death blow as their main show got moved to a lesser time slot soon thereafter. The Canadian economy has also been in toilet almost the entire game (I blame low oil prices), so I don't know if that had anything to do with it too, but I was definitely still surprised. I'd like to think that the struggle became too much for the Stone brothers, and they decided to cash out instead of continuing to push the boulder up the hill.</p><p> </p><p> Not to give too much away, but none of the affected wrestlers (Sara Marie York actually left the company right before this, which should have been a red flag something was up) have signed with either AAA or QAW yet as of February 2020. With NOTBPW not having a TV deal in the US, I think it may be that these wrestlers are expensive relative to their US popularity. I'll cover it in the interlude after Heat Check, but someone has stepped into the void NOTBPW left. <img alt=":)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="Dr_Avalanche" data-cite="Dr_Avalanche" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="41787" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>It is quite a shocker seeing such a major player on the market suddenly just being devoured. Making it even more WWE-like, my take is that Jerry doesn't consider NOTBPW wrestlers as having enough personality to hack it in SWF. In corporate-strategy terms, he's thinks getting the NOTBPW brand out of the way is best for SWF-business, in that they can focus 100% on making that the top name in Canada instead of splitting their efforts.</p><p> </p><p> I agree that the supply/demand impact on salaries would be interesting, but I'm going to interpret the non-change as the major wrestlers having their contracts paid out as part of the transaction. People like Sean McFly and Lauren Easter don't need the money (similar to Sting/Goldberg/Hulk Hogan after WWE bought WCW) and can hold out for what they want, for awhile at least.</p><p> </p><p> In fact, the first male wrestler to get signed just happened, and that was Sean Deeley going on tour with PGHW.</p><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="kingjames" data-cite="kingjames" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="41787" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>*cough* The WCW/ECW Invasion *cough cough*<p> </p><p> <img alt=":D" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> Now, now, no bad memories please <img alt=":D" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /> (the only thing I really remember from this is the teased Austin - RVD feud).</p>

I was thinking you could perhaps bring Victoria Stone in along with some of the ex NOTBPW women as part of an invasion storyline with Victoria being a member of the DPW "Board of Directors" and plotting to takeover DPW via a Corporation like faction / stable. You could call them either the Cartel or the Administration. Both Vibert and Brayfield in turn could conspire to gain more influence by allying with either Avatar or Stone.

The main issue is that Victoria is only willing to work in Canada, and I don't see that changing like it would for an out-of-work wrestler. <p>Card for Heat Check</p><p> </p><p>

Pre-Show:</p><p>

<strong>Ariel Breaks</strong> vs Sarah Sparkell</p><p>

<em>#NoSparkleAllFade</em></p><p>

<strong>Generation NOW</strong> vs Raiden</p><p>

<em>Just feel that G-NOW are a step above still.</em></p><p> </p><p>

Main Show:</p><p>

For a spot in the 6-Woman DPW Queen of the Ring Body Count Match at Ashes in the Fall</p><p>

Deborah Young vs <strong>Thea Davis</strong></p><p>

<em>Could go either way but I feel Thea needs it more to shake off the 'nearly (wo)man' tag that I have sort of labelled her with in my head.</em></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Marie Punnen</strong> vs Sista Kass (if Marie wins, she gets her job back)</p><p>

<em>What the hell, I'll go with the upset. It won't be clean obviously, possibly a rage DQ or some such.</em></p><p> </p><p>

For the Deuces Wild Tag Team Titles</p><p>

<strong>Ladies Reborn (w/ Roxy Kitten)</strong> vs Yo Ho! ©</p><p>

<em>I like Ladies Reborn. </em><em><span style="font-size:8px;">Of course I love Joanna Silver but that's a whole other story.</span></em></p><p> </p><p>

No Disqualification Match for the DPW Athena Warrior Title</p><p>

Electric Dreamer (w/ Seduction) vs <strong>Killer Kathy McMahon ©</strong></p><p>

<em>Electric Dreamer doesn't do it for me... now, I've said it out loud.</em></p><p> </p><p>

For a spot in the 6-Woman DPW Queen of the Ring Body Count Match at Ashes in the Fall</p><p>

Claire Winters vs <strong>Gorgon</strong></p><p>

<em>If Deborah Young doesn't make it, we need a monster.</em></p><p> </p><p>

Main Event for the DPW Queen of the Ring Title</p><p>

Kate Avatar © vs <strong>Simony Sentinel</strong></p><p>

<em>Possibly being guided by my heart rather than my head here, just think it would be an epic comeback story.</em></p><p> </p><p>

Bonus Points (One Point Each)</p><p>

How many titles will change hands during the show? <strong>2</strong></p><p> </p><p>

The Queen of the Ring title will be defended at Ashes in the Fall in a 6-Woman Body Count Match (think Elimination Chamber). Two of the spots will be determined at Heat Check. Who will be the other four entrants announced during the show? (one point for each correctly named wrestler; an additional bonus point for guessing the common theme among the four) <strong>Avatar, Sentinel, The Kassastrophe and Laura Flame. Can't argue with Doc's former champs logic.</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Where will DPW finish in September's Regional Battle (out of 5)? <strong>I'm gonna say slight dip and 3rd.</strong></p>
