With no dark match scheduled, the fans already in attendance mill around the theater until the video screen above the stage lights up. Phil Vibert is shown in what appears to be his office and the sight of the former owner of DAVE elicits a loud pop from the crowd. The camera pans back as Emiko Miyoshi walks into the room, her usual rocker get-up replaced by a school girl outfit.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

</div><span>http://i.imgur.com/7A68NMO.jpg</span><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

“Ah, Emiko, good of you to make it. Just in time to draw your number for the rumble,” Phil grabs a fish bowl from his desk and holds the glass object out in front of Miyoshi.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

The Japanese Cruiserweight reaches into the bowl and pulls out a piece of folded paper. Emiko glances down at the number, a slight look of disappointment coming over her face before she smiles and makes a peace sign with two fingers.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Before Emiko can exit Phil’s office, Selina Svelte and Hoshiko Tagawa barge in. The two members of Generation NOW look Miyoshi up and down, until Hoshiko bellows “Leave!” at the Japanese Cruiserweight.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Emiko scampers out of the office while Selina gets into the face of Vibert, “Why the hell do Velvet Revolución have a Deuces Wild title shot tonight?! Me and Hoshiko have beaten those losers TWICE! If anyone deserves to be tag team champions, it’s us!”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Phil turns away from the blonde technician to put the glass bowl back on his desk. When he looks back at Svelte, there is a disturbing intensity in the owner of DPW’s eyes, “You know what Selina…you get a title shot when I say you get a title shot! Do I make myself clear?!”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

The two women of Generation NOW seem a bit taken back by the ferocity of Vibert’s response, but after a moment’s pause, Selina leans over and pulls out two numbers from the glass bowl on Phil’s desk. Svelte hands one piece of paper to Tagawa and then points her finger in Phil’s face, “If that’s the way you want it, then fine. But just remember, you’re responsible for what we do tonight.”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Selina and Hoshiko march out of the office while Vibert looks on with eyes narrowed before adjusting his suit.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Laura Flame walks out with a serious expression on her face and wastes no time in making her way to the ring with a microphone in hand.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

“Play time is officially over. I am out here for one reason and one reason only, to get my Queen of the Ring title back. No quips, no partners…no interference. Just me and Sista Kass, one more match, a Las Vegas Street Fight!”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Laura pauses for a response from the champion to her challenge, but after nearly a minute of silence, lifts the microphone back to her mouth, “What’s a matter Kass, you just gonna sit on your title and wait to see who wins the Rumble tonight? I thought you were a killer?! I thought you were the greatest?!”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Flame paces back and forth as she waits for Sista Kass, but still nothing, “I guess USPW was right. When it comes down to it, you’re just not good enough.”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

</div><span>http://i.imgur.com/m1TODO6.jpg</span><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

To loud boos, Sista Kass appears, her scowl making the 240-pound behemoth look especially menacing as she stares down Flame from the stage. With the Queen of the Ring belt slung across her shoulder, Kass chooses a deliberate pace as she walks down the ramp, never taking her gaze off of the redhead in the ring.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

While waiting for the champion, Laura continues to pace back and forth, the fans hot with anticipation for this surprise title bout. Once Kass steps through the ropes, Flame moves to speak again, but the former USPW wrestler slaps the microphone out of her hand.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

As the audience gets to their feet, Kass gets nose to nose with Laura to deliver a single message, “You’re going to regret ever coming out here tonight…if you survive.”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

</div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><strong>Match #1: Laura Flame vs Sista Kass © – Las Vegas Street Fight for the DPW Queen of the Ring Title</strong></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

</div><span>http://i.imgur.com/52WMMKc.jpg</span><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><strong>VS</strong></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><span>http://i.imgur.com/m1TODO6.jpg</span><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

</div><span>http://i.imgur.com/dw8jdk2.jpg</span><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

There is a fire in the eyes of the challenger as the referee calls for the bell, which only grows when Kass lands the first punch. Flame staggers backward only a little, then unloads a barrage of her own on her opponent.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Kass appears slightly caught off guard by the tenacity of Laura’s attack, but does not let this dissuade her from dishing out her usual brand of brutish punishment in response.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

The fans watch all of this with bated breath, expecting the rug to be pulled out from under Flame with a well-time run in by Thea Davis. This expected interference never comes, however, perhaps indicating that the Englishwoman cares more about winning the Phoenix Rise Rumble than protecting Sista Kass’ title reign.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Ten minutes into this intense and physical battle, the action shifts as weapons are introduced with neither competitor able to gain an edge over their rival. Laura bashes Kass over the head with a chair, to which the former USPW wrestler responds with a blow from a kendo stick. The fight spills to the theater floor, and the fans cheer as Flame rallies to smash Kass’s skull over and over again with the chair.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

With Kass wobbling from side to side, Laura measures her foe for a Flame Fire Kick. The redhead connects, and pins Kass on the outside so the referee can begin his subsequent ten count.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

At four, the 240-pound behemoth begins to stir, so Flame does not waste any time in finding new weapons under the ring. Like a horror movie villain, Kass rises back to her feet, angrier than ever as she charges at her opponent. Laura grabs a garbage can and crunches the metal container over Kass’ head, but this stop Kass only momentarily.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

With a look of desperation on her face, Flame finds a razor-wire covered baseball bat under the ring, and swings as hard as she can at her rival. The sharp metal takes a chuck out of Kass’ forehead, and the behemoth falls to the floor while blood streams from her face. Flame pins the champion again, but the referee only reaches six this time before Kass gets back up.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Laura winds up with the bat one more time, but Kass snatches the weapon from her hands and breaks the wooden object over her own knee in one swift motion. Tossing the pieces of the bat aside, Kass ignores the river of blood coming from her forehead to pick Flame up for Kill Switch. Laura’s body hits the theater floor with a sickening thud, and the crowd deflates as the referee begins counting after Kass pins Flame.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Convinced she has already won the match, Kass goes to the timekeeper and grabs her Queen of the Ring belt to taunt the audience. As the 240-pound wrestler celebrates, the fans pop instead, Laura having gotten back to her feet at the count of nine. Kass’ face is full of incredulity as she stares at her opponent, even though Flame sways back and forth, barely able to keep herself upright.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Bending over, Laura meekly motions for Kass to bring it, and the former USPW wrestler obliges. Her scouted ruse complete, Flame springs her trap, using her charging opponent’s momentum as a weapon, sending the behemoth head-first into the ring post. While Kass recovers, Laura grabs a strand of razor wire from the broken baseball bat and wraps the metal around the foot of her boot. Having regained her wits, Kass lets out a roar, but is immediately leveled by a Flame Fire Kick, the razor wire plowing into the gash on Kass’ forehead to make the wound even deeper.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Lying in a forming pool of blood, Kass is pinned by Flame for a third time, but the challenger decides she will not leave victory up to chance as the referee begins his count.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

…1…2…3…</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Retrieving every table and ladder she can from under the ring, Laura begins burying Kass under a pile of debris as the crowd yells the tally along with the referee.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

…4…5…6…</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Kass begins to stir, so Laura tosses as many empty chairs from the front row as she can onto the champion.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

…7…</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Kass gets back to her feet, rising from the debris like a monster from the sea. Laura tries to land another Flame Fire Kick, but through her crimson mask, Kass is ready with a counter this time.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

After a stiff forearm sends Flame reeling, Kass picks her up for a second Kill Switch. Instead of going for the pin after slamming Laura to the floor, the 240-pound wrestler sets up a discarded table at the foot of the fans in the front row. The crowd murmurs as Kass then sets up a ladder and drags the motionless Laura up each rung.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

At the top of the ladder, Kass screams “This is what happens when you mess with me!” before lifting Laura up and smashing the redhead’s body through the table with Kill Switch. The subsequent pin becomes academic, and Laura remains down for the count as the referee reaches ten.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

</div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><strong>Winner via Ten Count following a Pinfall and Still DPW Queen of the Ring: Sista Kass</strong></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

While the crowd continues to buzz from the finish of the match, a bloody Sista Kass demands a microphone over the pleas from the casino’s staff for her receive medical attention.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

“I told you I am the greatest! There’s no one on this damn planet that can beat me, but I dare them all to try!” Kass stares down at Laura’s stirring body with disdain, “That's one more victim for the killer and she sure as shit won’t be the last!”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Kass drops the microphone and snatches the Queen of the Ring belt from the referee before defiantly holding up the title and one fist.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

The 240-pound behemoth tries to head backstage, but several staffers block her path and point to the EMTs waiting by the casino doors. Kass balls up her fists, but as more blood pours into her eyes from the crevice in her forehead, she relents. </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

The EMTs take one look at Kass’ wound and tell her she needs to go to the hospital to receive staples immediately. Instead of going with them to the ambulance, Kass grabs a wad of gauze and shouts, “I’ll drive my own damn car!” before disappearing through the doors to the casino floor.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Back in the theater, Laura slowly rises to her feet from the wreckage of the table, selling the trauma to her neck, back and shoulders. Flame wobbles, and referee Gregory Chapman rushes over to help steady her, but the redhead refuses the assistance.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

A few tears welling up in her eyes, Laura looks around the room as fans give her a standing ovation. With a single wave, Flame acknowledges the applause before limping out of the ring.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Slowly but surely and while the crowd continues to cheer her on, Flame grinds her way up the ramp, pulling off the rare feat of gaining more fans in a loss than she ever could of in victory.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

On the video screen above the stage, Killer Kathy McMahon is shown walking into Phil Vibert’s office. Phil stands with the bowl full of entry numbers at the ready.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

“Shame about Ariel, hopefully she’ll be back soon,” Kathy ignores Vibert’s attempt at pleasantries, her eyes narrowing as she stares down at the number she has drawn. Without giving any indication of whether or not she is happy with her selected position in the Phoenix Rise Rumble, McMahon silently leaves the office while tossing the piece of paper to the ground.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Charity Dark walks out slowly from backstage with a spastic Sandra Shine following close behind. The circles under Charity’s eyes demonstrate a distinct lack of recent sleep for the black-clad blonde, and Dark almost outdoes Shine’s twitching as her head swivels from side to side as if looking for where the next act of their mysterious tormenter will come from.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

“The Ladies Reborn welcome all challengers,” Charity stops at the bottom of the ramp, her hands pensively holding the microphone as she speaks, “the Lady demands it. We serve her faithfully, but we ask those who hide in the shadows to come out and face us! We know you do not act for Her and we will not let you tarnish Her good name!” </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

For once, Dark’s plea yields no response, and after a few more moments of waiting, “¡Viva la Revolución!” is heard to bring out Velvet and Ursula for their tag title shot.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Despite the crowd being firmly behind the Ladies Reborn as the match begins, the cheers for Velvet Suarez start to rise as the purple-clad luchadora executes a series of dramatic high spots that equate to her best performance yet. Not to be outdone, Sandra and Charity respond with a series of aerial maneuvers of their own.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

In fact, the action continues at this frenetic pace until Ursula Saez tags in, and suddenly everything slows to a crawl. Whether she is purposely sandbagging the proceedings or is simply a few steps slow, there is no denying Ursula’s once bulky body is now decidedly flabby as she stumbles around the ring, forcing the other wrestlers to adjust on the fly to compensate for Saez’s lackadaisical showing.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Bringing the audience’s attention back from this lull, Velvet tags Ursula’s arm during a corner break and proceeds to use the ropes as a launching pad to take out Shine. Charity rushes in, but Suarez sends the blonde over the top rope with flying head scissors. Before Velvet can leap to the floor, Sandra joins Suarez on the top turnbuckle to deliver a Rise and Shine hurricanrana to the canvas that pops the crowd.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

With both Sandra and Velvet down, referee Gregory Chapman begins his ten count while, from their respective corners, Ursula and a recovered Dark urge their tag team partners to get up.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Just as the referee reaches the count of eight, both Shine and Suarez leap simultaneously to tag in their counterparts. Charity and Saez charge at each other in what looks to be a dramatic finish to the match, but just then, Hoshiko Tagawa and Selina Svelte invade the ring, assaulting both teams with a flurry of blows.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Generation NOW continues to wale on the Ladies Reborn and Velvet Revolucón as the referee calls for order. Sandra tries to rush in to save Charity, but is met by a stiff forearm from Tagawa. Having downed Ursula, Svelte grabs Suarez and sends Velvet over the top rope with a suplex. Charity is next to feel Hoshiko and Selina’s wrath, as the black-clad blonde is pulled apart with a Prawn Armlock and a Rolling Leglock.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Only Saez interceding on Charity’s behalf saves Dark from any more punishment, but in the process, the Mayan Mauler makes herself the new target for Generation NOW. After a series of punches from every angle, Hoshiko holds up a limp Ursula so Selina can measure her for one final blow. </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Suddenly, Suarez rushes into the ring with a steel chair in hand, but Svelte hears the purple-masked wrestler’s footsteps and ducks out of the way of Velvet’s swing. Suarez can sense what is about to happen next, but she is past the point of no return, and the chair smashes into the head of Ursula.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Velvet quickly tosses the chair away to check on her tag team partner, while Sandra pulls the still downed Charity out of the ring. Hoshiko and Selina survey the scene of their destruction, and after giving each other congratulatory high-fives, head to the back to boos from the crowd. </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

“Not a moment too soon,” Vibert responds to the Violent Violet’s presence with this somewhat sarcastic quip before holding out the bowl full of pieces of paper.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Just as Simony is about to draw her number, she is slammed from behind by Maria Guest. Maria unloads on Sentinel, but the purple haired wrestler manages to block one blow before responding with punches of her own. The former best friends crash into a wall of the office, their hands around each other’s throats.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

“God damn it, I’m sick of this! Security!” Instead of getting between the two wrestlers, the former owner of DAVE sticks his head out into the hallway, and his cry is met by a stream of casino staffers flooding into the room.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Even as they are being pulled apart, Guest and Sentinel continue to wale on one another, scratching and clawing to get the last shot in.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Phil finally steps in the middle of this scene, the two women struggling to break free from the staffers holding them back, “It’s obvious you two will never stop fighting, so at All In All IV, you’re going to have one last match…and the loser is fired!”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Vibert emphasizes his declaration by pointing his finger in the faces of the former best friends and then heads out into the hallway. Maria and Simony let the announcement sink in for a few moments before once again attempting to break free from the grip of the staffers to resume their brawl.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

The video screen cuts back to the theater to show Seduction sitting in the front row for the second straight month. Just like at Unwanted Gifts, the appearance by Darryl Devine’s widow receives loud cheers from the fans. This time, however, Seduction has a laptop with her, apparently ready to take notes on the Phoenix Rise Rumble that is still to come.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Phil Vibert does not acknowledge the chants of “DAVE!” mixed with “D-P-Dub” as he makes his way to the ring, choosing instead to brush off his suit from any debris that may have landed on him during the earlier scuffle between Guest and Sentinel.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

“Let’s get right to it, because I have a lot to cover. I founded DAVE oh so many decades ago to provide you with something no one else would, and those times remain near and dear to my heart. But DAVE wasn’t just about extreme violence, it was about bringing the best wrestlers in the world together in one place. There used to be a company in Las Vegas that was also about that, and under my watch, DPW will become that too. That’s why tonight,” Vibert points down at a casino staffer at ringside, and the woman promptly steps into the ring, “in respect to both of those traditions, I am announcing the creation of the Athena Warrior title!”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

</div><span>http://i.imgur.com/psHhr1Z.png</span><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

The staffer holds up the belt for the fans to see, and the crowd responds with the desired level of intrigue, “The holder of this belt will have earned the right to call themselves a champion, to call themselves a Warrior. This belt will be defended under no disqualification rules, because a true Warrior doesn’t need rules to keep them safe, to tell them how tough they are. Now, all of you are probably wondering who this first Athena Warrior will be. Well, like all other things in DPW, this will be decided in the ring. The last four wrestlers eliminated in tonight’s Rumble will earn a spot in a No DQ ten-minute scramble match at All In All IV, the winner becoming the champion.”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

The cheers from the audience rise at this promised contest, while in the ring, Vibert shifts his stance to make a wide motion with his arms that appears to encompass the entire theater, “But speaking of that company that used to be in this city, they had something called the Glamour Era, something they thrived under. Now, we here in DPW, we are Las Vegas Grit through and through…but maybe it’s time we combined the two? Maybe it’s time for the Era of Grit ‘n Glamou…”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

To say Vibert is miffed by this interruption of his address would be an understatement, but this anger rapidly morphs into curiosity as QAW’s head booker, Jackson ‘Boss Man’ Brayfield, steps onto the stage.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

</div><span>http://i.imgur.com/nSUqQGk.jpg</span><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

The former owner of DAVE pauses for a second before saying mockingly, “Oh, excuse me old man, are you lost? Houston’s thatta way!” As the crowd laughs, Phil turns his back to Brayfield, “Musta taken a wrong turn at Albuquerque.”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

“Very funny, but I’d expect nothing less from you Mister Vibert. The real question you should be asking yourself is if that is any way to talk to the new minority owner of DPW,” the cowboy-hat clad Texan lets his words hang in the air as all the levity leaves Vibert’s face. “You see, just this morning, I bought Emma Bitch’s 40% stake in this company, for a song I might add, and that…makes us partners.”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Pivoting to face Brayfield, Vibert nearly foams at the mouth as he responds, “I will never be partners with some cigar chomping, hillbilly, redneck…” </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

“I thought you might say that Mister Vibert; you do have a reputation for not playing well with others,” Brayfield’s words elicit an ‘Ooooohhh’ from the crowd that turns Phil’s face a decidedly ugly shade of red. “It sounds like you have a lot of plans for this company, plans that don’t necessarily match my own. That’s why I have a proposition for you. You see, I’m a gambling man at heart Mister Vibert, so instead of us fighting backstage for the next decade, how about a little wager? At All In All IV, one match: a wrestler of your choosing against a wrestler of mine; your stake in this company against my stake in the company, winner takes all. I expect your answer in the morning.”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

With a tip of his stetson, Boss Man disappears backstage, leaving Vibert to deal with the murmuring audience and the thought of just how much trouble Brayfield could cause him if he doesn’t accept.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

The entire chapter is written, but the Rumble itself is around 2,500 words, so I thought Brayfield's interruption was a good point to stop to help people digest the first half of the show. Even though it was one of the longer write-ups, I wanted to do it justice as it really did get both wrestlers over (Kass and Laure both went from D- in the South West to D, and the Figurehead feedback has them just behind Kate in terms of popularity). In the long term, it could become important as well as there is a question of whether or not Kate can remain DPW's Figurehead and not hurt the progress of Kass and Laura.</p>

<p>Card of All In All IV</p><p>

Emiko Miyoshi and Marie Punnen vs <strong>Kaori Mochizuki and Nami Genda</strong></p><p>

<em>It pains me to predict a loss for Emiko, but it would not surprise me if Marie turns on her as well. </em></p><p> </p><p>

No DQ Scramble Match (Wrestler with the most falls after ten minutes wins) to become the Inaugural DPW Athena Warrior</p><p>

Claire Winters vs Electric Dreamer vs Killer Kathy McMahon vs <strong>Thea Davis</strong></p><p>

<em>This feels wide open to me. I think this is just Claire's coming out party as a singles competitor, and as a face it might just benefit her story if she comes up short here.</em></p><p> </p><p>

Ladder Match for the DPW Deuces Wild Tag Team Titles</p><p>

Generation NOW vs <strong>Ladies Reborn ©</strong> vs Velvet Revolución</p><p>

<em>This is no time to get off the bandwagon. </em></p><p> </p><p>

Mud Wrestling Match</p><p>

Glorious Monsters vs <strong>Yo Ho!</strong></p><p> </p><p>

One More Time for the Sweet Souvenir - Last Woman Standing Match - Loser is Fired</p><p>

<strong>Maria Guest</strong> vs Simony Sentinel</p><p>

<em>I wonder if you ran out of stories to tell about Simony. Unless Maria has signed elsewhere, I think she's got more long term potential and I doubt you'd let her go voluntarily.</em></p><p> </p><p>

For 100% Ownership of DPW</p><p>

Laura Flame (representing Phil Vibert) vs <strong>???? (representing Boss Man Brayfield)</strong></p><p>

<em>This could be a giant swerve, but it feels a little too meta. Vibert has made himself impossible and he has to go. Just curious of Vibert's reasoning, picking Laura. If she resents him for what he did, shouldn't he be concerned she'll take a dive? Interesting.</em></p><p> </p><p>

Main Event - For the DPW Queen of the Ring Title</p><p>

Kate Avatar vs <strong>Sista Kass ©</strong></p><p>

<em>I feel like such a downer, but I don't think this will end up the triumphant return we all want. Kate gets to chase the title a little longer. Maybe there's some interference to give Kate a legit claim for a rematch later on.</em></p><p> </p><p>

Bonus Points (One Each):</p><p>

How many titles changes will there be (not counting the crowning of the first Athena Warrior)? <strong>Zero</strong><em>, once again.</em></p><p>

Who will be Boss Man Brayfield's representative (not currently on the roster)? <em>Really difficult this one. Someone from QAW maybe? A heel perhaps? I'll go with</em> <strong>Jillian Jarvis</strong>.</p><p>

Which BSC Original will make an appearance? <em>Was </em><strong>Alexis Littlefeather</strong><em> one of the originals? I'll go with her.</em></p><p>

Which roster member will Seduction offer her managerial skills to? <strong>Monster Ishimura?</strong> <em>Did well in the rumble, and could use some microphone help I imagine.</em></p><p>

Who will end the night as DPW Queen of the Ring (a way of giving an additional point for correctly predicting the outcome of the main event)? <strong>Killer Kass</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Tiebreaker (Price is Right Rules)</p><p>

What will be the number grade of the show? <strong>63</strong></p>

<p>Card of All In All IV</p><p>

Emiko Miyoshi and Marie Punnen vs <strong>Kaori Mochizuki and Nami Genda</strong></p><p>

<em>With the crowd not getting behind Miyoshi's new gimmick and their generally poor showing during the Rumble, I think Mochizuki and Genda take this one.</em></p><p> </p><p>

No DQ Scramble Match (Wrestler with the most falls after ten minutes wins) to become the Inaugural DPW Athena Warrior</p><p>

Claire Winters vs <strong>Electric Dreamer</strong> vs Killer Kathy McMahon vs Thea Davis</p><p>

<em>She's got a rep South of the Border as a title holder and this could be a good way to get over the new member of your roster. Plus, if the Athena Warrior is a continuation of DAVE, someone with the ability to do crazy high spots might be a good title holder.</em></p><p> </p><p>

Ladder Match for the DPW Deuces Wild Tag Team Titles</p><p>

Generation NOW vs <strong>Ladies Reborn ©</strong> vs Velvet Revolución</p><p>

<em>A three-way is a good way to take a title off someone or ones without them actually "losing", but I think the Ladies could get even more momentum on their side before they drop the straps.</em></p><p> </p><p>

Mud Wrestling Match</p><p>

Glorious Monsters vs <strong>Yo Ho!</strong></p><p>

<em>You know, Taker has the Hell in a Cell as his ultimate environment, where few to no competitors can defeat him. I feel like mud wrestling is Yo Ho!'s Hell in a Cell.</em></p><p> </p><p>

One More Time for the Sweet Souvenir - Last Woman Standing Match - Loser is Fired</p><p>

<strong>Maria Guest</strong> vs Simony Sentinel</p><p>

<em>Did someone else sign Sentinel? It's true that she hasn't had much direction, but I can't imagine you're paying her a huge amount of money so cutting her without there being an outside factor in play doesn't seem to fit.</em></p><p> </p><p>

For 100% Ownership of DPW</p><p>

Laura Flame (representing Phil Vibert) <strong>vs</strong> ???? (representing Boss Man Brayfield)</p><p>

<em>I'm calling a draw decision that means Vibert and Brayfield have to work "together" for a while, before the situation is further resolved. Sort of like the Commissioner Michaels up-ending the Corporation era.</em></p><p> </p><p>

Main Event - For the DPW Queen of the Ring Title</p><p>

<strong>Kate Avatar</strong> vs Sista Kass ©</p><p>

<em>Kate completes the comeback, making Kass look like a million bucks but still getting the victory over the monster...but not cleanly, so Kass retains the championship.</em></p><p> </p><p>

Bonus Points (One Each):</p><p>

<strong>How many titles changes will there be (not counting the crowning of the first Athena Warrior)?</strong></p><p>

<em>Zero - Kass will lose the match but not the championship.</em></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Who will be Boss Man Brayfield's representative (not currently on the roster)?</strong></p><p>

<em>Alexis Lee Littlefeather - for the same reasons as below, plus she's a QAW girl at this point.</em></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Which BSC Original will make an appearance?</strong></p><p>

<em>Man, most of them are out of the business at this point. Alexis Lee Littlefeather is one of the few who are left that you'd actually want to put in a ring.</em></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Which roster member will Seduction offer her managerial skills to?</strong></p><p>

<em>Electric Warrior - Not sure on her English skills, but if she's only passable, having a manager might be very useful. And if she does win the Athena Warrior, what manager doesn't like having a client who's already got the gold before they have to lift a finger? I would have maybe gone with Glorious Gloria and Monster Ishimura, but since you said singular "roster member", I'm sticking with EW.</em></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Who will end the night as DPW Queen of the Ring (a way of giving an additional point for correctly predicting the outcome of the main event)?</strong></p><p>

<em>Kass takes the L, but she's still the champion.</em></p><p> </p><p>

Tiebreaker (Price is Right Rules)</p><p>

<strong>What will be the number grade of the show? </strong></p><p>

<em>Gonna go with a 62, same as this one, on a strong main event.</em></p>

Adrenaline from the evening still pumps through Hell Cat’s veins, and she thinks about just how good it felt to be back in front of a crowd again.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

After pausing for another moment, Kate walks through the door, and it only takes a few seconds for the roster to turn to her while bursting out in a round of applause. Avatar acknowledges the cheers while moving to the center of the room.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

“First off, congratulations to everyone in here tonight. I think we can all agree that we just put on the best show in this company’s history, and that wouldn’t have happened without each one of you giving 100%,” never much of a leader, Kate’s words still elicit another round of applause from the members of DPW. “I especially want to point out Kass, who, let’s face it, is awesome.”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

</div><span>http://i.imgur.com/m1TODO6.jpg</span><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

The corner of Kass' mouth turns slightly upwards and somewhat bashfully, she raises a single hand to thank her fellow wrestlers for their praise before checking on the staples in her forehead as Kate continues, “Kass went above and beyond in putting her body on the line, but she and Laura delivered a great match, and that’s what it’s all about. Once Laura gets out of the hospital, I want all of you to let her know how much you appreciate what she and Kass accomplished out there tonight.”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Hell Cat shifts her focus to Thea Davis, who sits on a bench with an ice pack on her neck, “Thea, you put on a great performance too, and you can add that match to your highlight reel. You’ve really come so far since the days of being Steph Blake’s lackey, and you should be proud of where you are now.”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

</div><span>http://i.imgur.com/BtwT5LL.jpg</span><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Thea’s nods with a smile while Simony pats her on the back. Avatar claps her hands together, looking for the least awkward way to end her speech, “Alright, well that’s all I have, so everyone drive safe and we’ll see each other in six weeks.”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Most of the roster lets out a cheer before turning back to their lockers. Kate looks at the door, but before she leaves, she walks over to a frowning Ursula Saez and quietly says, “Meet me in my office in five minutes, we need to talk.”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

----------------------------------------------------------------</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

</div><span>http://i.imgur.com/x5SF8WV.jpg</span><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Back in her home/office, Hell Cat sits at her desk waiting for the Mayan Mauler. On cue, Ursula walks through the door and takes a seat across from her boss. Saez fidgets in her chair, clearly agitated at having to come to this meeting, while Kate gets up to slam the office door shut.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Avatar trudges back to her seat, shuffling some papers on her desk before looking at Ursula, “I called you in here because I want to know what’s going on with you.”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

“What’cho mean?” Saez's English has improved dramatically over the past year, but her speech is still tinted with an accent.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

“Ursula, I’m not blind. I saw you out there tonight, you were straight up awful. I’d like to just dismiss it as a fluke, but your performances have been steadily dropping the past few shows. And then there’s your body. With your contract coming up…”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

“What about my body?” the Mayan Mauler sits up straighter as her posture becomes more rigid.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

“Look, I’m the last person to care about someone putting on a few pounds, but when it affects the quality of your work, I have to step in. I mean, are you just eating more? Working out less? Are you pregnant?”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

“And what if I was pregnant?”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

“Then that’s fine, but I don’t want you workin…”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

“I’m not pregnant.”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

“Okay then, what is it? It’s like you don’t even care anymore.”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Ursula’s foot begins to tap rapidly on the floor and the Mexican brawler looks away from Kate for a second while biting her bottom lip, “And why should I?”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

“What?”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

“Why should I care?! It doesn’t matter how good I do out there, you’re never going to push me!” Saez gestures wildly with her arms as she lets out what has been building inside of her for several months.</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

“I don’t see why…”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

“You know who was the last person to pin Laura before Kass? Me! And what came of that? Nothin’! She wins the Venus tournament and I’m left jobbin’ to everybody!” Ursula leans forward and puts her finger to Kate’ desk, jabbing the wood more violently with each successive word. “I’ve worked my ass off to get better in English, but how much promo time have I gotten? None! Instead, you give it to your…type.”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Hell Cat’s eyes narrow, “What’s that supposed to mean?”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

“Oh come on, you know what that means. Let’s look at who wins and who loses on every show, see a pattern? You only had me and Velvet hold the tag titles until you could find some white girls for us to drop it to.”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

“Don’t give me that racism bull shit. If you only kne...”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

“Bull shit?! More like the truth. Who are your jobbers? Me, Velvet, the Japanese girls, Punnen. The only white one is Rose, but that’s because she can barely get through a match without injuring herself. Now let’s look at who you’ve pushed: Simony, Maria, Laura, Claire, Thea. Hell, the only reason Tagawa wins is because you paired her with a blonde. If she was by herself, she’d be jobbin’ out just like me.”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Kate grits her teeth and pushes her hands together to keep them from balling up into fists, “You forgot to mention Kass is the current Queen of the Ring.”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

“Wow, that’s some token you have there. Let's see how long that lasts,” Saez's heavy breathing starts to subside as her body relaxes, perhaps resigned to her fate after her outburst, “We done here?”</div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Hell Cat tilts her head to crack her neck, “Yeah, we’re done.” Saez gets to her feet and heads out of the office, while Kate digs her fingernails into the desk.</div><p></p>

<p>You know, I can really see where Ursula's coming from, even if she herself isn't deserving of a push - and clearly she's not if she's letting herself get out of shape. Kass has the advantage of having been on a national TV show - she's famous, at least to some levels. I'll be interested to see if your booking plans moving forward push a more diverse group of workers. You've got some potential up and comers - Electric Warrior's possibly one - so maybe the title picture will diversify naturally over time?</p><p> </p><p>

Incidentally, this is something that's bothered me in my save. AAA starts with Cat Jemson, Dwight Kumas, Joanna Rodriguez and...that's it. Only one non-white in-ring worker. Sure, part of it is the limited pool of women workers available in the game. Part of it is AAA being a popularity-based promotion where the lack of popularity of Japanese and Mexican workers in the US, and in some cases the inability to cut a promo in English, further narrows the pool. But still. I'd like to have contracted talent that better reflected the diversity of the audience, and it's something that I've been thinking about as I consider contract decisions.</p>

Chapter 28 Interlude: Only the Strong Survive

http://i.imgur.com/1Hyvuq0.jpg

Kate Avatar sits in her home/office at Piper Casino in mid-February 2019, staring blankly at the fresh pieces of large white paper hanging on the walls. Of all the times to be in a creative funk, one show out from the start of DPW’s next season has to be one of the worst.

Suddenly, Kate’s phone rings and the sound of
fills the room.

“Joanne?”

http://i.imgur.com/X9pxndO.jpg

“Welp, they finally did it,” Joanne Rodriguez’s speech is heavily slurred, and from the clinking of ice cubes in the background, Hell Cat guesses that her friend must have been drinking for awhile before this call.

“USPW fired you?”

J-Ro lets out a peal of laughter that nearly makes Kate drop her phone from the volume, “Worse! They’re making me bring Alicia Strong back. I’ve got to do a press conference tomorrow where I welcome Sam’s c*nt of a daughter ‘home’ with a big happy smile.”

“Wow, that sucks,” Kate tries to stifle her glee from AAA and QAW losing their figurehead in Strong, especially after QAW just had Gorgon drop their World title to Alicia.

“Oh, but it gets even better. To pay for little Miss Strong, Sanchez is making me release Lora, Tiffany, and Raven.”

http://i.imgur.com/jDvzfDp.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/t9Fzkuq.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/Mful65T.jpg

Avatar pauses for a second, imagining how this sudden flood of talent on to the market could shake up Women’s wrestling in North America.

“I know what you’re thinking Kate, and don’t worry, I already talked to all of them, but I think you’re going to be disappointed. Lora still hasn’t forgotten about how you treated her in BSC, but she’s a drunk anyways, so f*ck her,” Hell Cat hears the pouring of liquid and the dropping of more ice cubes into a glass before Joanne continues. “Jade could be a big star for you, but she took one look at your production values and declared you ‘small time.’ Then there’s Raven,” Rodriguez lets out a long sigh, “I probably shouldn’t be telling you this, but she’s done, finished. Yeah, she’s come back from her broken neck, but she’s not the same. The only thing saving her is her ability to work a crowd, but that doesn’t mean she can put on good matches anymore.”

Kate’s shoulders slump slightly, and the owner of DPW looks up at the blank booking plans for the next year, “That figures.”

Hell Cat hears J-Ro take a long sip from her glass before the booker of USPW Women’s division speaks again, “But who knows? Maybe Alicia will drive me so crazy I finally snap and quit, and then I’ll be on the market.”

Kate manages to laugh along with her friend, when suddenly, a spark comes into her brain, “Well Joanne, I appreciate you calling me, but I better go.”

“Alright Kate, have a good night, and keep fighting the good fight,” as soon as Rodriguez hangs up, Hell Cat picks up a black marker, and starts furiously writing on the white paper on the walls.

OOC: None of the three wrestlers being released by USPW are Brayfield’s mystery representative, but I thought I would let everyone know they're out there. :)

Yeah, I really hadn't planned for this to be the subject of Saez and Hell Cat's argument, but after I looked at the roster, it was kind of a 'wow' moment in that, Ursula is right. I'd like to think of the company as a meritocracy, but I can see how someone in Ursula's position would look at how her and Laura were treated when they were relatively close in performance and popularity, and be justifiably pissed off (even though Laura is great on the mic, while Saez is probably the worst speaker in DPW).

There is a diversification coming. I had planned to cover it in an interlude before All In All IV with Boss Man, but I'll probably save it for after the show now. :)

Interesting to see what ideas this sparked for Kate. :)

Lora has been on the market in my game as well, and I have given her more than one look thinking 'maybe'...

On behalf of noted humanist Mark Carnie and all of us in SNP I would like to give a disapproving shake of the head in all of your directions and shine the spotlight firmly on the prominent run that The Black Lions have had in The Chaos Arena.

I appreciate that said run has largely been based upon hatred and intolerance but still... at least they're there. And we're holding a mirror up to society... or something.

<p>Hah!</p><p> </p><p>

Yeah, I'm less than half a year into the game, and already Carnie's managed to have two women quit as a result of sexual harassment - including a webcam in the women's locker room - plus he's managed to have another guy quit when Carnie refused to pay him. He's a a real peach of a man, that Mark Carnie <img alt=":(" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/frown.png.e6b571745a30fe6a6f2e918994141a47.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p>
