The apartment feels empty all of a sudden. Alana is gone and she is not coming back. There’s still so much stuff lying around. Most of it is mine. Books and comics and guitars and DVDs and CDs, a mountain of reminders that I am not a real adult. Some of her stuff is here too though. Candles and jewellery and her homemade shampoo. It’s sobering. She loved her little bits and pieces but she wants to not live with me so badly now that she’s left them all behind her.</p><p> </p><p>

Four years of my life gone just like that. I feel numb. Actually… I wish I felt numb. I feel so hurt and so sad and so very, very tired. I cannot stay here anymore. I cannot sleep in the bed where we used to make love. I cannot watch 21CW on this couch where we used to cuddle (and make love). I cannot use the kitchen counter or even the shower where… well, you get the picture.</p><p> </p><p>

I’m 34 years old and I feel like time is slipping away from me. There’s so much that I should have done. I sit on the floor and look up at the picture of Alana and I at her sister’s wedding. We both look so happy and it’s only six months ago. What the hell has happened to my life? I sit there and I keep on looking up. It’s like looking at two strangers that I don’t recognise. Was I ever so happy? I cry. At length. It feels better than it should to be totally honest. Still… eventually I decide to get up and take the picture down. I look at it some more and feel tears coming again.</p><p> </p><p>

I decide to throw the picture into the spare cupboard. It’s like a black hole for stuff that neither of us wanted throw out and it feels quite fitting now. So I proceed to do exactly that. I pad out into the hall, open the door and toss the framed photo in. I’m about to go back to… well I’m not really sure what I planned to do but, in any event, I’m distracted by what catches my eye.</p><p> </p><p>

My wrestling boots. Wow. I haven’t seen them in about a year. A lurid, bright green. My sporadic forays into indie wrestling were, at best, a very qualified success. I’m 6’2 but I am a skinny, skinny boy and my body stubbornly refuses to pack on muscle regardless of what I try. Cursed by my own metabolism. On the plus side I’m well able to cut a promo and I have a healthy disregard for my own safety in the ring so I had that going for me. I never really committed to it though, was always juggling my wrestling dreams with the responsibilities of boyfriend, son, brother, friend, uncle and employee.</p><p> </p><p>

I pick up the boots and look at them. You know what… I’m going to make a go of this. I feel so miserable now that even if I crash and burn it can’t possibly make me feel any worse. There’s always the chance I’ll pull it off too isn’t there? I’m going to make this happen… well I’m going to make something happen. It's time for Daire to set some goals and chase some dreams.</p><p> </p><p>

<em>OOC: So I am back... you may or may not be familiar with my old diary...</em></p><p><em>

SNP - The Thistle in the Ashes. I disappeared from these forums (fora?) for a while when things went a bit awry in my own life. When I finally got back Photobucket had spazzed out and between that and everything else... I figured the time was right to try something new. So here goes... to begin with... you get to vote as to which corner of the C-verse, our intrepid hero tries to rebuild his life and chase his dreams in... basically you'll be choosing from between many of the small companies. I'm leaving out SNP because it was my last dynasty, as many Japanese companies as I can because it doesn't really interest me and, probably, ACPW because I'm playing another save with them in my free time already. Other than that it'll be up to you guys to determine the course of this one.</em></p><p> </p><p>

Great to have you back Dar!

I'm sad to see SNP go but you left on a high note with Padraig winning the title.

This is a tough choice because I'm greedy and I'd love to see your take on a lot of these companies.

For example:

ZEN: Zany, yet more family friendly than SNP.

QAW: How would you book the women in the C-Verse?

DIW: Similar to SNP in product, but with an amazing talent pool in Australia.

EX2010: Lucha in Japan, what could go wrong?

Ultimately, I went with CILL over EMLL because CILL has a Women's division, and there are some really talented workers in Mexico that are available at the start of the game.

Can't wait to read it!

I'll read whatever you put out, Dar. I mean, really, you should just write what you feel passionate about. But since you asked...

I voted for EX2010 as it gives you a lot of resources (cash) and access to MJM, plus a bunch of new renders were made for it recently. But... CILL was a close second, they have a lot of potential to rise quick.

Preparing to move...

http://i.imgur.com/Eif7tnr.jpg

I get home from work one evening after another day trying to sell things that I love but that have been rendered almost obsolete by the internet. DVDs, CDs, physical copies of computer games. The place is circling the drain but I love the job and I'm reluctant to walk away. Before too much longer though, I presume that business will win out and they'll shut the doors. Alana spent the last six months or so urging me to look for something else. I didn't listen. I never seem to listen.

Speaking of Alana she has clearly come and gone in my absence and taken her stuff. Either that or I've had an extremely particular burglar. Not even a note or a text message saying she's been. It still hurts. I'm still sitting on the couch half-watching an SWF show on TV when my buddy Joe arrives over. Joe is worried enough about me that his visits have become ever more frequent. We're close, always have been, he's been good to me.

"I'm thinking of leaving Ireland," I tell him, not taking my eyes from the Remo promo on screen, "thinking about trying to wrestle somewhere."

"I think it's a good idea," he tells me, "you're really good and you definitely need a change of scenery too. I'd miss you obviously but you've got to do what's right for you."

I can only nod at this.

"Where are you thinking of going?" is his next question. It's a reasonable one under the circumstances but the truth is that I haven't given it too much thought either. Just so long as it's away... between my few indie matches and my 'Fifth Turnbuckle' podcast I have built up a certain amount of contacts in the business.

Realistically places like Australia and the US make a certain amount of sense if I can sort out a work permit. I speak the language, I know people over there both inside and outside the wrestling business. Then again... if I'm keen to get away from Ireland why go someplace with so many Irish people? It might make sense to go someplace off the beaten track... someplace where I, to be fair, know far less about the local traditions. The wrestling traditions and the more general, cultural ones. Say Japan or maybe Mexico. A whole new way of life for a brand new start. The whole idea is a bit insane when I step back to have a look at it from up closer. Then again... how much sanity can you expect from somebody who feels like they might be losing their mind?

OOC: I appreciate the input into this a great deal. I quite like the notion of having a lack of control over where it all begins because I feel that, as a guy in his mid 30s with very little experience, Daire would have quite limited options. That being said there are companies on the list above that I would like far more than others but, whatever comes out on top, I think it will inform the narrative in any case. One of my own issues with my old SNP save was that the format I stumbled into didn't lend itself to much in the way of personal insights into the characters. The wrestling is going to be key obviously but I hope to have far more interludes and such this time around. I'm looking forward to a fresh challenge (much like Daire).

<p>Glad to have ya back, bud! Hope all is well. To echo everyone else here, I'm gonna be excited to read whatever you write and I'm a big fan of you putting out some lesser seen companies in the poll.</p><p> </p><p>

That being said, I went generic and voted NYCW <img alt=":o" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/redface.png.900245280682ef18c5d82399a93c5827.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /> Always think they've got an interesting situation since Roger Cage is usually always going to be poached right away. And I think their roster fits that old school mentality so much, it just seems hard to grow, but I have no idea. Plus I think working in the COTT is cool too. QAW would've been my second pick I think.</p><p> </p><p>

Though I think it'd be a nice change to step away from the brawling/hardcore/carny aspect that SNP had. Looking at you, DIW, GSW, and IPW. But at the end of the day, I think any company would be a great read from you, Dar.</p>

<p>A new place to sleep</p><p> </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><span>http://i.imgur.com/Eif7tnr.jpg</span></div><p></p><p></p><p>

Mexico. How does a man like me wind up in Mexico? In a small, shabby apartment, stripped to my boxers and dripping sweat. If you had told me that I’d be here six months ago I would have laughed at you. Laughed long and laughed loud. It seems less funny now of course. This Spartan little room is starting to feel like something between a prison cell and an escape pod to me. A battered English to Spanish dictionary and a small mountain of Lucha Libre DVDs are about the only possessions that stand out here. I am living on pizza, bottled water and, please forgive me, a tiny little sliver of hope that this will work out and lead to something. Lechuguillas (it’s real, look it up) is on the coast and the place is small enough that I can deal with life here.</p><p> </p><p>

My family and friends think I’m gone completely crazy. It’s hard to disagree really. I’m 34 and there’s a very real sense that anybody who crosses the ocean to make a late bid for stardom in as unpredictable an industry as pro wrestling, in a place where he has no real contacts, doesn’t speak the language and is almost wholly unfamiliar for the product is not making the best of decisions. The expectation was that I’d put down roots somewhere in the USA or even Australia, following that fine Irish tradition of emigration. Then, what am I to Irish tradition. I don’t even drink…</p><p> </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><span>http://i.imgur.com/DuOhlJn.jpg</span><span>http://i.imgur.com/5ckdT0Y.jpg</span></div><p></p><p></p><p>

Another man whose sanity is going to come under severe scrutiny once news of this breaks is El Maestro. The man created Comite Internacional de Lucha Libre in 2011 and, through blood, sweat and tears, carved out a niche as the fourth most important wrestling company in Mexico. In the considerable shadow of the juggernaut that is SOTBPW they’ve done well in their short existence. Questions will be asked about the wisdom of bringing in an unknown gringo to take the book. At least I won’t be able to understand the criticism initially. Truthfully, I don’t know how long I’m going to stay out here but for now… I’m a depressive. When I was diagnosed, years ago, I made a promise to myself that I would strive to be the most optimistic depressive possible. There is every reason to believe that this could be the beginning of something special for me. Even if not… it’s going to be a hell of an experience. If nothing else… the beach, the weather… a man could choose worse places to try and piece the shambles of his life back together.</p><p> </p><p>

<em><strong>OOC:</strong></em><em>So I've jumped the gun a little bit and started about 3 and half hours before the poll expired. I trust you'll all forgive me. Truth be told I wasn't over the moon about being sent to Mexico but I figure that will be a good aspect to work into the story too.</em></p><p><em> </em></p><p><em>

For what it's worth the companies I was kinda hoping for were actually the 4 mentioned by MrWolf101 (though he voted for CILL too, thanks a lot buddy). I figured Zen would be quirky and goofy (and a real life ex-colleague of mine that I'd a crush on moved to New Zealand not so long ago so I could have worked that in), DIW had a certain amount of appeal as 'SNP in AUS', EX2010 have deep pockets and that's always fun and QAW... well Wolf, Doc and King J have done a great job of putting c-verse women on the map and I would have been ok following in their footsteps too.</em></p><p><em> </em></p><p><em>

However CILL it is... it could have been worse too. EMLL and their lack of tag team wrestling actually scared me a little and NYCW and their old school product could have been an awkward fit too. <p>New Year's Days - New Dawn Rising</p><p> </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><span>http://i.imgur.com/9xOOJfA.jpg</span></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p>

<span>http://i.imgur.com/Eif7tnr.jpg</span></p><p>

On New Year’s Day I meet the roster for the first time. It’s an interesting experience to say the least. Everybody is there. Wrestlers, announcers, managers, the referee and the road agent. There are definitely plenty of positives. For starters a majority of the people gathered here today have some level of English so communications shouldn’t be the major issue I was fearing. Secondly they seem a generally positive bunch bar a couple of noticeable exceptions. I don’t want to make snap judgements on anybody yet but time will tell how that develops anyway. I ban drugs and alcohol from backstage immediately. I’m not aware of any particularly messy characters here but, let’s be honest, I don’t really know them at all. I also decree that I want the matches to be scripted beforehand. I just think it’s going to be safer getting the ground rules down now before our first show.</p><p> </p><p>

<span>http://i.imgur.com/5ckdT0Y.jpg</span></p><p>

Speaking of which: CILL: Flashpoint is set for the second Saturday in January. I haven’t given it a huge amount of thought yet but over the coming days I’ll address that once I get to know the roster a little better. We have four titles at play here and I make some early notes about the people holding those titles today.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

<span>http://i.imgur.com/ooQf8Jm.jpg</span></p><p>

<strong>CILL World Championship – Prestige: 74 - Current Champion: Magik</strong></p><p>

<span>http://i.imgur.com/Gh96Mg8.jpg</span></p><p>

Magik was the first CILL World Champion. He’s as popular as any wrestler on the roster, largely off the back of an 8 year run with the SOTBPW juggernaut. He’s reputed to be a good worker, a natural luchador and extremely consistent. Against this… he’s said to be a little flaky and, at 39 and with two over decades in the ring, there’s also whispers that he’s 3 or 4 years past his prime. While I won’t make any rash decisions I’m not sure that I see him as a champion for the mid-term, let alone the long-term.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

<span>http://i.imgur.com/1tz1C4p.jpg</span></p><p>

<strong>CILL World Tag Team Championship – Prestige: 62 – Current Champions: Uhtred the Viking and Ragnar the Viking (The Viking Raiders)</strong></p><p>

<span>http://i.imgur.com/7ybUCDs.jpg</span><span>http://i.imgur.com/h5N1PGE.jpg</span></p><p>

Uhtred and Ragnar are 3 time Tag Champions. I see an awful lot of upside to these guys. They’re big, they have a distinct, unique look and time is very much on their side. The older, Uhtred, is 29 and spent almost 3 years with MPWF honing his entertainment skills. Ragnar is still only 22, a brawler by trade, and seems a real prospect. The Viking element of their gimmick works well, the maniac aspect less so, particularly with Uhtred. After watching the last few shows one of the first things I do is shift his gimmick. The guy is more brute than weirdo so, accordingly, we’ll portray him as a crusher now, a menacing badass who does his talking in the ring. I’m in no rush to take the belts from them but we’ll see how things play out obviously, there’s some decent depth to our Tag Division too.</p><p> </p><p>

<span>http://i.imgur.com/Bs7aELj.jpg</span></p><p>

<strong>CILL Mexican Championship – Prestige: 62 – Current Champion: Aztec Prince</strong></p><p>

<span>http://i.imgur.com/6P2ia5Q.jpg</span></p><p>

Chilean import Aztec Prince, 24, is the current (and 2-time) holder of our midcard title. He’s got a good look, works well as a brawler, seems versatile in terms of what he can portray and has plenty of time to get even better. His current Raging Bull gimmick isn’t spectacular but I don’t want to make too many changes at once so we’ll proceed as is with that for now. I fully intend on limiting this one to guys in the midcard and below. It can help to elevate guys who are starting to progress that way.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

<span>http://i.imgur.com/qlgEhDH.jpg</span></p><p>

<strong>CILL World Women’s Championship – Prestige: 48 – Current Champion: Estrella Blanca</strong></p><p>

<span>http://i.imgur.com/eN2Ds5w.jpg</span></p><p>

The first (and 3-time) holder of this title, Blanca seems a safe pair of hands. Still only 27, she’s already a fine in ring performer and I already believe that she has a role to play in helping to boost the prestige of this, the first Luchadora title in Lucha Libre history. She seems like she’ll be reasonably easy to get along with too. She’s slightly generic for my tastes but I suspect that she is exactly what our audience wants in their Women’s champion. There seems to be some talent here already but I have a couple of ideas for potential additions too.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

<span>http://i.imgur.com/hFduz82.jpg</span></p><p>

The only other change I make on Day 1 is another gimmick change. Mercedes Gimenez is our Tecnico manager. Amazing Fire Fly and Rapido, collectively known as Rapid Attack, are her current clients. If I found out who made the decision to book this attractive, elegant, 34 year old woman as a Tomboy we might have had our first firing today. I consider going with a Cute Nerd role but I think that might be more subtle than our audience would appreciate. Eventually I settle on a Damsel role. It’s not particularly progressive or forward but it’ll give Rapid Attack something to do and keep the crowd interested too hopefully.</p><p> </p><p>

All in all it’s not been a bad first day and as I lay on my bed later on I make the following decisions too.</p><p> </p><p>

<span>http://i.imgur.com/GappPJD.jpg</span><span>http://i.imgur.com/M8e6apx.jpg</span><span>http://i.imgur.com/hLujxJb.jpg</span><span>http://i.imgur.com/5ckdT0Y.jpg</span></p><p>

1) For the foreseeable future we will only book shows in our South Eastern Mexico homeland. I want us to establish ourselves there before we try and make any major moves. We’ll always be in the shadow of SOTBPW obviously but I can live with that. EMLL are the closest to us in terms of size and a natural competitor in many regards but they have advantages we don’t as well. Their product is more modern than ours and the wrestling industry is healthier in their Northern Mexico base. It also gives them a degree of spillover into the US that is just beyond us. OLLIE are the other major players here but, frankly, they’re in a completely different league to us at the moment as well.</p><p> </p><p>

2) For the first show at least I’m just going to go with the roster I’ve inherited. I just think it’s fairer that way. I already have a couple of targets in mind but, like everything else, there’s no major rush. I’d like to try and see a more tightly-knit locker room. Most of them seem to be decent personalities and there’s plenty of leaders but, equally, there’s almost an absolute dearth of real bonds between the various roster members.</p><p> </p><p>

<span>http://i.imgur.com/ENweNpc.jpg</span></p><p>

3) I think there could be mileage in trying to organise some type of coalition with other groups too. I guess we could apply to join the COTT but I’m not sure it’s the way to go (or that they'd have us). They’re trying to recreate the past in many ways and I truly believe that smaller promotions need to be coming up with new ways to influence the future instead. It’s definitely something worth considering in the near future. After I sleep. As I start to drift into what will inevitably be my usual 3 or 4 hours of broken slumber I decide that I will wrestle under the name of Daire Messiah.</p><p> </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><span>http://i.imgur.com/9xOOJfA.jpg</span></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p>

<em>OOC: So that's Day 1 on the books. I appreciate that I'm taking a while to get to the actual wrestling but, I must confess, I'm enjoying the story element quite a lot. It's only 12 days to CILL: Flashpoint anyway and I feel obliged to announce the bouts at least a full week before the show itself so predictions can't be more than a couple of entries away! I also like the notion of only gradually introducing the roster to the readers because I think that it mirrors the notion of Daire only gradually getting to know them himself.</em></p><p><em> </em></p><p><em>

It's good to be back here. </em><img alt=":)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><em> Thanks to those who voted and have left messages in thread already. Thanks to those who have PM'd. Thanks to Wolf, Doc and King J for listening to me. There's a genuine sense of community on these boards that I feel fortunate to be a part of.</em></p>

<p>Owner Goals & CILL: Flashpoint Preview</p><p> </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><span>http://i.imgur.com/9xOOJfA.jpg</span><p>

</p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p>

<span>http://i.imgur.com/Eif7tnr.jpg</span><span>http://i.imgur.com/DuOhlJn.jpg</span></p><p>

El Maestro sits down on my couch and cracks open a beer. He offers me one from the 6-pack he’s brought with him but I shake my head and get a bottle of water from the fridge instead.</p><p> </p><p>

“You settle in good?” he asks me in. The man is not a fluent English speaker by any means but he’s well able to communicate with me.</p><p> </p><p>

“Yeah boss, I’m fine,”</p><p> </p><p>

This is only mildly untrue. I’m still laid down with all the emotional baggage that I’ve brought with me but he doesn’t need to know that. Even if he did have more of a command of the language I’m not sure that my happily married, 50 year old, Mexican, new boss could offer much in the way of support anyway. Maybe I’m doing him an injustice but I don’t think it’s worth exploring anyway.</p><p> </p><p>

“Not boss,” he responds tapping his chest, “El Maestro. Maestro!”</p><p> </p><p>

This is not the first time that we’ve had this conversation either. I nod at him, he nods back at me.</p><p> </p><p>

“So,” he continues, “we talk rules now ok?”</p><p> </p><p>

I nod again, not really sure where he’s going with this one.</p><p> </p><p>

“Big rule, super important. In next two years, we not to run out of money. Even better, we make more money. Money good for me, good for you, good for everybody eh?”</p><p> </p><p>

“Si,” seems the correct response so I offer it. He smiles at this.</p><p> </p><p>

“In two years, we have $700,000 in bank, I will be very happy man!”</p><p> </p><p>

At the moment we $500,247 dollars in the bank. Realistically, until we start running shows I have no idea how viable a notion it is to make a monthly profit of around $8,300 a month. Time will tell. I’m fairly confident I won’t empty the account in that time anyway. I give him a guarded thumbs up that he takes as assent and he presses on.</p><p> </p><p>

“Small rules too. No Spot Monkey wrestlers. Is not Lucha, is not art. We no need that here. Also, no Psychopath wrestlers. No good for business.”</p><p> </p><p>

“Sure, I can do that. No big deal.”</p><p> </p><p>

“Last thing. No wrestlers who are…” he pauses to try and think of the word he wants,</p><p> </p><p>

“Nobody who makes problems with the police. Mexico is great place. CILL is great place. Let’s keep it that way yes?”</p><p> </p><p>

“Absolutely bos… Maestro!”</p><p> </p><p>

I’m happy with that myself. I’m about as middle class as a person can be so I’m not sure I was likely to want to hire any gang members anyway. </p><p> </p><p>

“You getting it now! You will do well here, be very happy, El Maestro is sure of this. You will stay for long time and we will all live our dreams. Now, I have dinner with my wife. We will talk soon!”</p><p> </p><p>

My boss stands up, drains his beer, picks up the rest of them and strolls on out of my place. I shake my head with a wry smile. I like the man and I hope that will continue to be the case. I pad back over to my laptop, delete the email I’d been drafting for an hour before he arrived. I sigh deeply. I catch my reflection in the mirror. I sigh again and decide to go for a jog on the beach. If I’m going to be back in the ring in a couple of weeks I should probably try getting into some sort of shape.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>CILL: Flashpoint – Match Card</strong> <em>(card subject to change)</em></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong>Magik © Vs. Diamante Negro w/ Antonia Andres – Steel Cage Match (Modern) for CILL World Championship</strong></p></div><p></p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><span>http://i.imgur.com/ooQf8Jm.jpg</span><p> </p><p>

<span>http://i.imgur.com/Gh96Mg8.jpg</span><span>http://i.imgur.com/oo6E28C.jpg</span><span>http://i.imgur.com/5hODxYj.jpg</span> w/<span>http://i.imgur.com/sWIXfkY.jpg</span></p><p>

</p></div><p></p><p></p><p>

The first Main Event of this new era for CILL will be for their chief title. Magik and Negro have been building to this for a while now. Magik is now in his second reign as World Champion. His run as inaugural holder of the title lasted a full year and helped to put the promotion on the map. His American adversary is a former CILL World Champion in his own right and has every intention of wearing the gold again himself. Within the confines of a steel cage this intense rivalry could well be unforgettable!</p><p> </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong>The Viking Raiders (Uhtred the Viking and Ragnar the Viking) © Vs. The Wild Cats (El Jaguar and Tigre Salvaje Jr) – for the CILL World Tag Team Championship</strong></p></div><p></p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><span>http://i.imgur.com/1tz1C4p.jpg</span><p> </p><p>

<span>http://i.imgur.com/7ybUCDs.jpg</span><span>http://i.imgur.com/h5N1PGE.jpg</span><span>http://i.imgur.com/oo6E28C.jpg</span><span>http://i.imgur.com/pGLNjPz.jpg</span><span>http://i.imgur.com/jzbjULu.jpg</span></p><p>

</p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p>

The Tag Team titles will also be up for grabs on the night. The Viking Raiders only won the gold last month, dethroning Rapid Attack. Ragnar and Uhtred will have designs on a long title run in their third reign with the gold. Their first challengers are The Wild Cats. El Jaguar and Tigre Salvaje, mere weeks removed from losing the CZCW Coastal Zone Tag Team titles, will see this as an ideal opportunity to get back on the horse almost instantly as well as a great chance to become the first 4-time World Tag Team Champions in CILL history.</p><p> </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong>Aztec Prince © Vs. Monkey Man – Lucha Libre Match for the CILL Mexican Championship</strong></p></div><p></p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><span>http://i.imgur.com/Bs7aELj.jpg</span><p> </p><p>

<span>http://i.imgur.com/6P2ia5Q.jpg</span><span>http://i.imgur.com/oo6E28C.jpg</span><span>http://i.imgur.com/z6x2foZ.jpg</span></p><p>

</p></div><p></p><p></p><p>

This new era for CILL is expected to see the promotion take steps to bridge the divide between traditionalism and modernity. The Mexican Championship is an area where the old ways are expected to be prioritised and, accordingly, this bout will be fought under Lucha Libre rules with the winner the first man to secure two falls. It’s only a month since the young Chilean champion, Aztec Prince, won the title for the second time, defeating Brazil’s El Sultan. His first defence comes against the unpredictable and scrappy Monkey Man. The challenger has a six month reign with this title in his own history and can never be discounted. It’s almost too difficult to separate the pair but something will have to give once the bell rings.</p><p> </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong>Estrella Blanca © Vs. Jaguar Queen Vs. Pinkie Perez Vs. Poison Ivy – Fatal 4-way Match for the CILL World Women’s Championship</strong></p><p>

<span>http://i.imgur.com/qlgEhDH.jpg</span></p><p> </p><p>

<span>http://i.imgur.com/eN2Ds5w.jpg</span><span>http://i.imgur.com/oo6E28C.jpg</span><span>http://i.imgur.com/5zvieYR.jpg</span><span>http://i.imgur.com/oo6E28C.jpg</span><span>http://i.imgur.com/OS0e9n1.jpg</span><span>http://i.imgur.com/oo6E28C.jpg</span><span>http://i.imgur.com/PscsFcy.jpg</span></p></div><p></p><p></p><p>

The depth of the CILL Women’s Division will be emphasised in this one. Both Blanca, the defending champion, and Perez are 3-time champions. Poison Ivy’s run as title holder lasted 9 months with Jaguar Queen the last champion. The level of competition in this one makes it very difficult to call. All of these women take pride in their role in the explosion of Luchadora and this match could well be remembered as one of the key moments in the revolution that is ongoing here.</p><p> </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong>Fallen Angel Vs. El Pavo Real</strong></p></div><p></p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><span>http://i.imgur.com/9u99nQO.jpg</span><span>http://i.imgur.com/oo6E28C.jpg</span><span>http://i.imgur.com/CltU2Fx.jpg</span></div><p></p><p></p><p>

This bout could play a major role in the World Championship picture going forward. Both these men have held the title before (twice for El Pavo Real actually) and will be all too aware that a victory in this one could go a long way towards establishing their credentials as the most deserving challenger to whomever comes out on top of the Magik – Diamante Negro showdown. The mysterious Fallen Angel and the cocky El Pavo Real will both believe that they have what it takes to pick up the victory and the momentum associated with it in this one.</p><p> </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong>Rapid Attack (Amazing Fire Fly and Rapido) w/Mercedes Gimenez Vs. The Wildfires (Wildfire Blaze and Wildfire Inferno)</strong></p></div><p></p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><span>http://i.imgur.com/BrBU7sH.jpg</span><span>http://i.imgur.com/rIsSyCN.jpg</span> w/<span>http://i.imgur.com/hFduz82.jpg</span><span>http://i.imgur.com/oo6E28C.jpg</span><span>http://i.imgur.com/BQ07Vqp.jpg</span><span>http://i.imgur.com/WFFtfcw.jpg</span></div><p></p><p></p><p>

This is another contest which could have implications for the entire division associated with it, in this case the Tag Team Division. Rapid Attack are young, fast and on the up. Their first run as champions came to a halt at the hands of The Viking Raiders but this exciting duo, ably managed by Mercedes Gimenez, will believe that they have every reason to be confident that they can move forward again and challenge sooner rather than later. Standing in their way however, are the decorated, dangerous and destructive Wildfire Blaze and Wildfire Inferno. The Wildfires have been champions both here in CILL as well as in MPWF. This clash of styles promises an intriguing fight that could set the tone for both these pairings as 2016 begins.</p><p> </p><p>

<p>Nice start. That $700,000 goal might be tricky, but the rest seems like no problem. </p><p> </p><p>

Predictions Card</p><p>

1. Magik © Vs. <strong>Diamante Negro </strong>w/ Antonia Andres – Steel Cage Match (Modern) for CILL World Championship</p><p>

2. <strong>The Viking Raiders</strong> (Uhtred the Viking and Ragnar the Viking) © Vs. The Wild Cats (El Jaguar and Tigre Salvaje Jr) – for the CILL World Tag Team Championship</p><p>

Comments: I love how the most distinct gimmicks in the Mexican company are a pair of Vikings. I don't know if they'll hold on to the titles for very long, but I think they can foil the technicos for a little while at least.</p><p> </p><p>

3. <strong>Aztec Prince</strong> © Vs. Monkey Man – Lucha Libre Match for the CILL Mexican Championship</p><p>

Comments: Only because I have such a hard time seeing someone called Monkey Man with the Mexican Championship around his waist.</p><p> </p><p>

4. <strong>Estrella Blanca ©</strong> Vs. Jaguar Queen Vs. Pinkie Perez Vs. Poison Ivy – Fatal 4-way Match for the CILL World Women’s Championship</p><p>

Comments: I think Estrella Blanca and Pinkie Perez are a step above the competition here. In my game, Pinkie is a locker room pest, and not the first person I'd want to put the belt on, but she might be the best of the bunch, so one might have to take the good with the bad. Let's say Blanca retains for now.</p><p> </p><p>

5. Fallen Angel Vs. <strong>El Pavo Real</strong></p><p>

Comments: No idea. Coin toss. </p><p> </p><p>

6. <strong>Rapid Attack</strong> (Amazing Fire Fly and Rapido) w/Mercedes Gimenez Vs. The Wildfires (Wildfire Blaze and Wildfire Inferno)</p><p>

Comments: Former champions go over, gets a chance to win back their titles?</p><p> </p><p>

7. Catalina Vazquez Vs. <strong>Maribel Mercado</strong></p><p>

Comments: I think Maribel can be the future of your women's division if she has gotten a good destiny roll in your save. </p><p> </p><p>

8. <strong>Hypnotiq Jr </strong>Vs Daire Messiah</p><p>

Comments: I'm thinking debut, new booker, let's not rock the boat and put yourself over? </p><p> </p><p>

Additional Questions (your guess is really as good as mine):</p><p>

1. Highest rated match of the show? - I'll take the safe choice and go for the <strong>main event.</strong></p><p>

2. Show attendance? - I don't know, let's go with an even <strong>300.</strong></p>

At the same time, I figure you won't go without a title change on this show. Depending on their destiny rolls, both of these wrestlers could be on the decline, but for Magik, that is more likely to be the case. I figure you are going to get what you can out of Magik before wishing him happy trails, and that starts here.</em></p><p> 2. <strong>The Viking Raiders (Uhtred the Viking and Ragnar the Viking)</strong> © Vs. El Pavo Real</p><p> Comments: <em>Really tough on this one. Like you say in the match description, whoever wins this is probably in line for a title shot next. Fallen Angel is up there in age, while Pavo is a good worker. I'll say Fallen Angel, to get once last shot at the title before being moved to a gatekeeper role.</em></p><p> 6. <strong>Rapid Attack (Amazing Fire Fly and Rapido)</strong> w/Mercedes Gimenez Vs. The Wildfires (Wildfire Blaze and Wildfire Inferno)</p><p> Comments: <em>Amazing Fire Fly can be at the top of the company in a few years in my opinion, while the Wildfires are probably best suited to putting over the younger wrestlers.</em></p><p> 7. Highest rated match of the show? Going out on a limb here, but depending on how you book it, I'm saying the <strong>4-way Women's title match</strong> might just be slightly better than the main event.</p><p> 2. It was certainly full of incident as the American Rudo, Diamante Negro, became CILL World Champion for the second time. The match worked on several levels. <p>Wow I was way off with the attendance <img alt="" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/eek.png.0e09df00fa222c85760b9bc1700b5405.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p>

I'm so invested on this. Probably because I'm playing with CILL right now.</p>

Comments on comments & Prediction League Update

Nice start. That $700,000 goal might be tricky, but the rest seems like no problem.

That's what I'm thinking. The show wasn't run at a particularly big loss. I'm down about $11k but with two weeks of the month left to make some of that back. That said there's a whole bunch of guys on the roster who didn't get booked. There may be some consideration to pushing the next show out from 90 minutes to 2 hours to get more people on the card if the money justifies it.

Oh wow, I love the look of these guys. Too bad I know nearly nothing about them! So this is gonna be fun! :D

You probably still know about as much as I do about most of the roster! :p

Haha, anytime. My vote for CILL was partially selfish. There are so many talented young workers in Mexico at the start of the game that I'd like to see them get some play on here. Plus, building stars was your strong suit in SNP.

I also figure that being slightly out of your comfort zone will make for interesting twists and turns. I love the voice you are telling this story with so far too, so I haven't been disappointed. :)

We'll have to see how the Star Building goes. Main Event scene is older than I'd like though so there's definitely some need to elevate somebody. I'm glad you're enjoying the 'voice of Daire' too, that's the element of this diary that I'm most looking forward to developing.

Wow I was way off with the attendance

The attendance caught me by surprise too. The predicted crowd was something like 1100 actually but I need to do the math to figure out what kinda crowds I need to be pulling to justify switching to a bigger venue.

Prediction League after 1 event (of 4)

One final point! I'm kinda flattered that nobody predicted I would put myself over. Clearly you all have a much better picture of me than you should do! :D Truth be told I had every intention of putting myself over but the Pop>Perf product made me nervous so I settled on a draw instead. Just as well really given that my popularity of 0 in Mexico helped make me the worst performer on the show. I did gain 4 pop and improve in 3 areas though so it wasn't all bad! ;)

<p>The Flashpoints of Flashpoint</p><p> </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><span>http://i.imgur.com/9xOOJfA.jpg</span></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p>

<span>http://i.imgur.com/Eif7tnr.jpg</span></p><p>

A week after the show I find myself sitting out on the beach and gazing idly to the east. My home is somewhere way, way out there. So is Alana. I wonder if she even knows that I’m here. I doubt it. My lack of a social media presence makes it difficult to cyber stalk me and I’d be pretty surprised if she’s stumbled across @MessiahCILL. Some people have started to follow my new Twitter account though so I guess I should be grateful for that at least! This is all off the back of my debut match for CILL, a ten minute draw with Hypnotiq Jr. To say I was underwhelming would be a mild understatement but the match itself went ok. I’m not going to dwell on it too much though. It was my first match in quite a long time and I was a complete unknown going out there. I’ll improve though, to be safe, I’ll probably keep myself on pre-shows for another while yet.</p><p> </p><p>

<span>http://i.imgur.com/yESFpJE.jpg</span></p><p>

The match wasn’t helped by Hypnotiq’s reaction to it. Seven wrestlers didn’t even get onto the card and this guy is kicking up a huge fuss because he has to draw with me on the pre-show? Not lose to me, draw with me! He’s an Opener here but he’s bitching about his push now as well. It’s fair to say that he has not gotten off on the best possible footing with me. Unfortunately he’s not the only one…</p><p> </p><p>

<span>http://i.imgur.com/eybC1BQ.jpg</span></p><p>

Hush is another guy who I didn’t find room for at CILL: Flashpoint. He seems to have spent that time coming up with a plan to make a mockery of his name. He is constantly, and I mean constantly, in my ear complaining about the fact that he’s an Enhancement Talent. Until I watch him work first-hand I’m reluctant to shift much around. Hush (real name: Eddie) does seem to have a lot of potential and I definitely see a bright future for him but constantly whinging to me isn’t going to accelerate his progress in the manner that he seems to think.</p><p> </p><p>

<span>http://i.imgur.com/cV83sLE.jpg</span><span>http://i.imgur.com/z6x2foZ.jpg</span></p><p>

The third (and for now at least, thankfully, last of my woes) occurred at the show itself. Shortly before his CILL Mexican Championship match against Aztec Prince, Monkey Man discovered that his mask had gone missing. There was a general panic backstage that was only resolved when the mask turned up… in the gear bag of El Serpiente. El Serpiente is another of the guys who didn’t get a match the other night. Maybe he felt he should have gotten the title shot, maybe he didn’t mean it as an act of malice but as a general prank, maybe I should take on board the fact that his gimmick of a troublemaker who enjoys causing mayhem to others is basically his real personality. Whatever the case, it’s another potential headache in a dressing room that is starting to appear possibly full of them. Thankfully, after I gave El Serpiente a stern dressing down there doesn't seem to be any major lasting fallout from this particular incident.</p><p> </p><p>

I’m moving to Merida next week. It’s where I envisage our shows being for the foreseeable future. Speaking of shows we’ve announced our next one, CILL: Love Hurts, for the second Saturday in February. I’m going to go with another 90 minute show. March’s show (and, provisionally, every third show) will be 2 hours. I’m playing with idea of a Battle Royal at Love Hurts to get everybody on the card.</p><p> </p><p>

<span>http://i.imgur.com/vJOfKcT.jpg</span></p><p>

I’ve also given plenty more thought to creating an alliance to rival COTT. I’m starting to give consideration to provisionally approaching other promotions to swell the ranks of a grouping that may or may not be called NDR. With AAA recently throwing their lot in with COTT I feel, more than ever, that trying to stand alone may be an exercise in futility!</p><p> </p><p>

<span style="text-decoration:underline;"><em>Bonus Round:</em></span></p><p><em>

NDR! What do you think it stands for? Who could/should be recruited to the cause? (1-3 points available for Predictions League purposes for anybody who’d like to offer an opinion. I actually (and immodestly) think the concept of an alliance, looking to the future, standing opposite the COTT as they try and preserve the past is kind of brilliant!</em></p><p> </p><p>

<p>Good first show. It sounds like Amazing Fire Fly is even better than I thought.</p><p> </p><p>

I like the format as well. I think you got enough information across in the summaries, and I imagine it's more manageable writing this way.</p><p> </p><p>

I'm really surprised AAA joined COTT, but that's a cool random factor added to this diary.</p><p> </p><p>

For the alliance, I think a traditional focused alliance (kind of an anti-Modern Japan movement) could make for some great interludes. It would also help you add some special matches to your bigger 2 hour shows.</p><p> </p><p>

As for potential members, I'm not sure how big you want to make this, but I'll go with QAW (for women wrestlers that can help put over your own talent), FCW (a surpisingly good source of Lucha wrestlers, one of which I'd like to suggest signing but I'm not sure if your taking suggestions yet <img alt=":)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />), and BCG (not sure if you're looking to ally with a company in Japan, but they are one of the few companies there not in MJM). All three are traditional based, and would provide some interesting talent that you could match up with your own wrestlers.</p><p> </p><p>

As for the name, really stumped here, but it would be cool if you could combine Spanish, English and Japanese to match up with the members and the international feel of the alliance. Something like Nuevo Dentō (tradition) Revelation.</p>

NDR could be New Day Revolution, Night and Day Revolution or Noam Dar Retire.</p>
