<p>Ooc</p><p> </p><p>

So, I'm going to give the whole dynasty thing a shot. I've really enjoyed reading so many of the dynasties that posters have created here, I figured I ought to at least make an attempt at one of my own. There's no elaborate backstory; we're jumping right in to the action. I may post some behind-the-scenes stuff if anyone reading is interested. I may also do some experimenting with format in the early going. Please feel free to make any suggestions.</p><p> </p><p>

There will be a prediction contest. It will run through PWC's first major event at the end of March 2017, for a total of 13 shows. I anticipate rewarding the poster with the most points scored at that time, with each correct match prediction and question correctly answered being worth one point unless otherwise specified. I additionally expect to reward the poster with the best overall "winning" percentage on matches predicted, with a minimum of five shows predicted, so even if you miss a few shows you're not necessarily out of the running for a prize.</p><p> </p><p>

I really hope that people will enjoy this and that I can keep it going. I've run the first 13 shows in the game, so I have that foundation to build from. I tend to be an on-the-fly booker so, although I do have some plans as to where PWC's stories may go in the future, most of what I've tried to do so far has been to create what I hope are some interesting characters and just bounce them off of one another to see what develops. </p><p> </p><p>

If you're reading this, I'd love to hear what you think. Comments, questions, thoughts, suggestions, ideas, etc. are very, very welcome, and will likely be what keeps me going on this project for however long it lasts. So: thanks in advance for reading, and I hope you enjoy the story of PWC.</p>

The story behind the formation of Phoenix Wrestling Company remains a bit mysterious for the time being. Technically, the company is owned and operated by Phoenix Wrestling, LLC, a privately held corporation formed in 2016. The primary investor or investors in this entity appear to have gone to some lengths to keep their identity from becoming known. What is clear is that a great deal of resources have been invested in the launch of Phoenix Wrestling Company at the start of 2017. Several well-known and highly respected names from the world of professional wrestling are known to be involved with the group, and the size and scope of the marketing and advertising blitz that blanketed the east coast in the fall and winter of 2016 indicate that the company has strong financial backing and an aggressive growth strategy. PWC has formed an agreement with the newly launched I-Watch Internet TV to broadcast a two-hour weekly show on the experimental new network. I-Watch is no doubt hoping that PWC: Rising From the Ashes will serve as a flagship program and subscription driver for them, and PWC seems to be betting heavily that the new broadcaster will catch on, providing them with enough exposure and a suitable platform for expansion. It's thought that Peter Michaels, the former head booker of the Supreme Wrestling Federation who has emerged as the primary spokesman for PWC, will be running the day-to-day operations of the company.</p><p> </p><p>

Phoenix Wrestling Company's initial roster of in-ring talent seems to have drawn from the among the best-known independent wrestlers from across North America but also includes several individuals who have been involved with wrestling heavyweights like the Supreme Wrestling Federation and Burning Hammer of the Wrestling Gods. The company's initial marketing has emphasized such names as Frankie Perez, Remmy Skye, Matthew Keith, Steven Parker, James "Mainstream" Hernandez, and "The Golden Boy" KC Glenn. Although it's not completely clear how the company plans to structure its shows, its starting roster and advertising campaign suggest an emphasis on presenting strong, gimmicked characters along with a fast-paced style of in-ring action.</p><p> </p><p>

Stay tuned to this space for continuing updates as Phoenix Wrestling Company prepares to launch what it claims will be a revolutionary new force in the world of professional wrestling entertainment . . .</p>

As the first show in Phoenix Wrestling history opens, fans are greeted with the sight of a familiar figure standing alone in the ring holding a microphone.</p><p> </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="64pCxKd.jpg?1" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/64pCxKd.jpg?1" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p>

Peter Michaels introduces himself as the commissioner of Phoenix Wrestling Company, telling the fans in attendance that they will be a part of history tonight. He informs the audience that he’s a man who’s been around the block a time or two in the wrestling business, and he’s never been more excited than he is right now. That’s because Phoenix Wrestling Company is a place whose doors will always be open to the best competitors in the world, and no expense will be spared to ensure that PWC fans will be treated to the best that the wrestling world has to offer. Michaels motions to a darkened window on the second level of the Biker Museum, informing us that everything we see here tonight is thanks to the man watching from behind that window, PWC’s primary investor and major financial backer—who wishes to remain anonymous for the time being.</p><p> </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="39Nvu1k.jpg?1" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/39Nvu1k.jpg?1" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p>

Michaels continues, attributing the vast collection of talent already set to compete in PWC to the vision, and the checkbook, of that mysterious financial benefactor. But he doesn’t get far before two figures emerge from backstage and slowly begin to make their way toward the ring.</p><p> </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="X33lDLe.jpg?1" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/X33lDLe.jpg?1" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="rF7XxxI.jpg?1" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/rF7XxxI.jpg?1" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p>

The sharply dressed young man with the impeccably styled hair and designer sunglasses has a microphone, informing Peter Michaels that he’s come out to congratulate PWC’s commissioner on making the greatest decision of his life—signing The Most Marketable Man In Wrestling, James “Mainstream” Hernandez, to compete in PWC. But you don’t have to take his word for it. He’s here with Ms. Haley Buck, his personal Marketing Consultant, who’s prepared to offer a few words on the benefits of promoting Mainstream as the face of Phoenix Wrestling.</p><p> </p><p>

Ms. Buck takes the microphone and informs Michaels that she’s a certified marketing expert and she knows what she’s talking about. And she’s never encountered a man with the combination of looks, skill, charisma and crossover appeal possessed by James “Mainstream” Hernandez. Michaels has just given himself the easiest job in the world—all he needs to do is make Mainstream the focus of the company, sit back, and watch the money roll in. And Mainstream is prepared to give everyone here tonight a little taste of what he has to offer . . . </p><p> </p><p>

<strong>James “Mainstream” Hernandez vs Thrill Seeker</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p>

With Michaels having retreated to the broadcasting table to join his partner Adrian Garcia and excitable bald man Thrill Seeker having made his way to the ring, the inaugural match in PWC’s history is ready to kick off. Mainstream offers a pre-match handshake, and Thrill Seeker accepts. When the action begins, both competitors prove to be adept at fast-paced chain wrestling and more than capable of taking to the air. The younger Mainstream appears to be just a half step quicker than his opponent, but he also displays a tendency to become distracted by posing for the fans rather than pressing the advantage when he has it. This allows Thrill Seeker to sucker him in, hitting a textbook jawbreaker for a close two count. Attempting to follow up, Seeker springs off the ropes but is met with a violent super kick that nearly takes his head off. Mainstream quickly leaps to the top turnbuckle, taking a moment to flash a 1000-watt smile and pose with a thumbs-up for the benefit of the fans in attendance with flash photography before leaping off to hit a picture perfect flying elbow that proves to be enough to secure the three count and victory.</p><p> </p><p>

Rating: B-</p><p> </p><p>

Michaels and Garcia debate how impressive Mainstream’s debut performance was as he heads to the back, all smiles and waving to the fans. And we’re ready for the next match as two focused and serious-looking competitors make their way to the ring. It’s the Ring Generals, Waldorf and Statler.</p><p> </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="EcFoilg.jpg?1" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/EcFoilg.jpg?1" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="5Irvryc.jpg?1" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/5Irvryc.jpg?1" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p>

The no-nonsense Ring Generals wait in the ring while three men make their way out from backstage, the smallest wearing a natty suit and the larger two wearing some sort of baggy, multicolored jumpsuits. The enormous man on the far right carries a boombox on his shoulder blaring Tag Team’s smash hit single “Whoomp! (There It Is).” It’s Dougie Dealz and his charges Alarmist Ali and Diminutive Davey, the Dudes Above Distraction. </p><p> </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="IwOPwDD.jpg?1" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/IwOPwDD.jpg?1" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="cg6tOrh.jpg?1" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/cg6tOrh.jpg?1" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="z2Xaqez.jpg?1" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/z2Xaqez.jpg?1" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p>

D.A.D. dance their way to the ring, attempting to lead the crowd in chanting the chorus to their theme song, and we’re once again ready for action.</p><p> </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="EcFoilg.jpg?1" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/EcFoilg.jpg?1" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="5Irvryc.jpg?1" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/5Irvryc.jpg?1" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="h5ffGO4.jpg?1" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/h5ffGO4.jpg?1" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="cg6tOrh.jpg?1" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/cg6tOrh.jpg?1" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="z2Xaqez.jpg?1" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/z2Xaqez.jpg?1" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><p>

<strong>The Ring Generals vs D.A.D.</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p>

Statler and Davey start the match for their respective teams. The Ring General goes on the attack, but finds his crisp technical wrestling less than effective against the gigantic Davey. The Ring Generals make quick tags, attempting to utilize their speed advantage, but their suplexes and throws are useless and they struggle to get Davey off of his vertical base. Eventually, they resort to attempting a double-team suplex on their opponent, but it’s reversed into a massive double suplex by Davey! </p><p> </p><p>

With the big man breathing hard, he tags in his partner. Ali’s high-energy brawling is effective, resulting in several close two-counts, until Statler adroitly suckers him in and sends him face first into the turnbuckles with a drop toehold. The Ring Generals get the heat on Ali, utilizing their quick tags and crisp wrestling. Ali appears to be in deep trouble until Dealz intervenes, distracting referee Pee-Wee Germaine by harassing Statler on the ring apron and giving Davey the opportunity to smash his boombox over the head of Waldorf. By the time Germaine has turned around, Davey has cleared the boombox shards from the ring and dragged Ali to the corner for a tag. Davey hits a giant splash on the barely conscious Waldorf, and the three count is academic from there.</p><p> </p><p>

Rating: C</p><p> </p><p>

We head backstage where intrepid reporter Remmington Remus has secured an interview with two of the competitors in tonight’s main event, Frankie Perez and Remmy Skye. </p><p> </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="OS68YDF.jpg?1" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/OS68YDF.jpg?1" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="ITTJ9vC.jpg?1" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/ITTJ9vC.jpg?1" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="l3px0jJ.jpg?1" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/l3px0jJ.jpg?1" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p>

Perez is all business, telling the audience how honored he is to be wrestling in PWC’s first ever main event and that he’s here to make a name for himself in his home country and prove that he’s the best wrestler in the world today. Perez puts over his partner Skye, who appears a bit distracted, saying that he knows Skye to be a fierce competitor from their days on the West Coast and that he’s excited to be teaming with him tonight. On hearing his name, Skye snaps to attention. He throws his arm around Perez’s shoulders and informs the audience that he always knew that Perez was a cool dude and that these two cool dudes are going to have a great time in the Main Event. Perez looks a bit confused at Skye’s choice of words, but he offers his partner a handshake. Skye readily accepts, pulling a surprised Perez in for a quick bro-hug. It appears that these two partners are on the same page for their match tonight.</p><p> </p><p>

Rating: C</p><p> </p><p>

As we return to the ring, Adrian Garcia speculates that Skye doesn’t seem like the sharpest tool in the shed and wonders if he might perhaps be under the influence of some sort of foreign substance. </p><p> </p><p>

Meanwhile, the Hawaiian Alliance is making its way down the aisle, the imposing Ekuma slapping hands with the fans while the High Flyin’ Hawaiian jumps around excitedly. Their opponents appear to be a study in contrasts with Randy Maxx smiling happily and waving to the fans on his way to the ring while Chucky Dorrance, for some reason, seems to be extremely angry.</p><p> </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="M65jb9n.jpg?1" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/M65jb9n.jpg?1" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="xzszfwv.jpg?1" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/xzszfwv.jpg?1" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="h5ffGO4.jpg?1" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/h5ffGO4.jpg?1" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="8Xd3jAB.jpg?1" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/8Xd3jAB.jpg?1" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="Yvp8Pd0.jpg?1" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/Yvp8Pd0.jpg?1" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><p>

<strong>The Hawaiian Alliance vs Randy Maxx and Chucky Dorrance</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p>

Unfortunately, we are not treated to a sterling display of teamwork in this match. Ekuma and HFH. can’t seem to get out of one another’s way. At one point they actually run into one another as Ekuma attempts to enter the ring while the High Flier comes off the ropes, and the smaller man appears confused as to whether or not he should sell the collision. Still, the Hawaiians’ disharmony pales in comparison to the dysfunction of their opponents, with Chucky taking every opportunity to insult and berate his bewildered partner. Eventually, Chucky has had enough, slapping his partner across the face and storming off, leaving Randy Maxx easy prey for an Ekuma power bomb followed by a top rope leg drop that earns the three count for High Flyin’ Hawaiian.</p><p> </p><p>

As Michaels wonders aloud what could have made Chucky so angry, a man decked out in a sport coat and bowtie and wearing thick-framed glasses approaches the ring and snatches a microphone from a ringside worker.</p><p> </p><p>

It’s Steven Parker, and he immediately demands that the fans in attendance show him the proper respect due to a man of his stature. He claims to be the greatest wrestling technician active in the world, a man who has learned at the feet of the great masters of the ring and has now surpassed them all. Fortunately, however, he has a generous spirit and is prepared to share his immense wrestling knowledge with the world. That’s right: “The Professor” Steven Parker is in the building, school is open, and classes are about to begin!</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Harry Allen vs “The Professor” Steven Parker</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p>

Parker appears less than impressed by the entrance of his opponent, the veteran Harry Allen, shaking his head and emitting a condescendingly exaggerated sigh. Once Allen enters the ring, however, it’s a different story altogether as the cowboy quickly takes control of the match with a series of dropkicks followed by a hiptoss transitioned into an armbar. Parker frantically struggles to the ropes and escapes the ring for a powder break, stomping angrily around ringside and firing off a string of verbal abuse at Allen, standing tall in the ring, for his “bush league” tactics. </p><p> </p><p>

When the match restarts, it’s a back-and-forth affair with each competitor enjoying periods of control. Parker tries to isolate Allen’s left knee, clinically breaking it down with low dropkicks, grounded stomps, and submission attempts. Allen shows admirable heart in continuing to come back, time after time, from the abuse. The end comes when Parker is able to reverse a backdrop attempt into a sunset flip. Referee Matthew White fails to notice that Parker has extended his feet onto the second rope for extra leverage and counts the pinfall. Parker quickly vacates the ring and celebrates on his way to the back, in his mind having clearly vindicated his earlier claims of greatness.</p><p> </p><p>

The Showstoppers, Davis Wayne Newton and “The Golden Boy” KC Glenn, are all smiles on their way to the ring, posing and playing to the crowd. Their opponents are indie veterans in the Native American Ace Youngblood and “The Leaping Lumberjack” Cal Sanders. Sanders compares his woodcutter’s axe to Youngblood’s ceremonial tomahawk on the way to the ring, indicating that he looks forward to chopping some wood tonight.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>The Showstoppers vs Ace Youngblood and Cal Sanders</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p>

KC and Davis begin by arguing over who’s going to start the match, with both men wanting the first opportunity to pop the crowd. In the end, Newton wins the battle and immediately takes control over Sanders with flashy, high-impact offense. Despite several opportunities, he shows no interest in either attempting a pinfall or tagging his partner into the match. </p><p> </p><p>

Eventually, a frustrated KC Glenn manages a blind tag as Newton comes off the ropes and springboards into a 450 splash onto Youngblood, who’d been laid out by a Newton leg lariat. An argument between the partners ensues before Newton is finally convinced to leave the ring. Given the opportunity to show what he can do, KC responds with a dazzling display of flips, springboards and dives before Tuning up the Sunshine Band and hitting Sanders with a massive superkick. But when he leaps to the top turnbuckle to hit a breathtaking Phoenix Splash, Newton manages a blind tag of his own, quickly picks Sanders up for a crazy looking chickenwing gutbuster, and picks up the pinfall before Glenn can react. </p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Ernest Youngman vs Kenny</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p>

Hot prospect Ernest Youngman puts in an impressive PWC debut, making short work of Kenny with a series of suplexes and slams that have the smaller man shaken from the very start of the contest. Kenny shows a good deal of heart to survive as long as he does, but it’s only a matter of time before Youngman hits a bridging German suplex to secure the 3 count and his first PWC victory. After the match, Kenny looks frustrated, throwing up his hands and kicking the ropes, while Youngman appears to be experiencing no emotion whatsoever, his face a stoic mask.</p><p> </p><p>

As Kenny trudges dejectedly back toward the locker rooms, he encounters two flashily dressed figures who have emerged from the backstage area.</p><p> </p><p>

The smaller of the two is decked out in an oversized New Jersey Minutemen jersey and sporting several large rings, voluminous gold chains around his neck, and a designer baseball cap with the bill skewed at an insouciant angle. The larger is in a silver velour tracksuit with the jacket unzipped to near his navel, revealing a single thin platinum chain sparkling over his chest. </p><p> </p><p>

After taking a brief moment to mock the departing Kenny, the two enter the ring where the larger man, Matty K, raises a microphone to address the crowd. He informs the fans that they are in the presence of greatness here tonight and that they are about to be treated to a performance that only two genetically superior individuals would be capable of putting on because “we are gifted, we are talented, we are rich, we are famous. We are Legacy! We have it all, and we deserve everything we have!” </p><p> </p><p>

Matty hands the microphone over to his little brother G-Reg so that he can drop some sick freestyle rhymes. But G-Reg barely has a chance to begin beatboxing before he’s interrupted by the entrance of Perez and Skye. </p><p> </p><p>

As Perez and Skye make their way to the ring for the main event, Peter Michaels expresses his confusion over the way Matt and Greg, sons of the legendarily hard-nosed Sam Keith, are conducting themselves. Adrian Garcia informs him that he clearly has no understanding of the plight of kids who have to grow up rich and famous. In fact, it’s a testament to their strength of character that Matty and G-Reg have managed to turn out as well adjusted as they clearly are.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Frankie Perez and Remmy Skye vs Legacy</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p>

The main event starts out hot as Legacy launch an attack before the opening bell. They quickly toss Perez from the ring and isolate Skye in the Legacy corner. Both members of Legacy work over Skye for an extended period of time, tagging in and out regularly and cheating liberally. Skye, however, shows impressive guts and refuses to stay down. </p><p> </p><p>

Eventually, Legacy make a mistake. Miscommunication between the two brothers gives Skye an opening to hit Matty with a handspring back elbow and dive across the ring to tag in the fresh man. Perez unleashes a withering barrage of vicious chops and kicks on both members of Legacy, who are forced to bail to the outside and regroup. </p><p> </p><p>

From there, the match is a competitive affair featuring stiff shots and high-impact drops and throws from both teams with neither side able to maintain an advantage for long. Finally, Perez is able to knock Matty from the ring apron, isolating G-Reg in the ring. He locks his exhausted opponent in the P-Clutch as Skye launches himself into a death-defying Shooting Star Press onto Matty on the floor, ensuring that he is unable to make the save. Trapped in the center of the ring, G-Reg has no option but to submit.</p><p> </p><p>

Rating: C+</p><p> </p><p>

After the match, Skye dives back into the ring and joyfully embraces his partner. The victory celebration is short-lived, however, as an oddly dressed young man vaults the ringside barrier and storms the ring to attack Perez and Skye.</p><p> </p><p>

Perez and Skye fight back, but as the Keith brothers join the fray the numbers game eventually proves too difficult to overcome. Perez and Skye are left lying while their three assailants stand tall in the ring to close the show, their arms defiantly raised in celebration.</p><p> </p><p>

<p>Ooc</p><p> </p><p>

So the first PWC show has aired. Comments or suggestions about formatting, presentation, characters, stories, or anything else are welcome. This writeup turned out to be a fair bit longer than I had originally hoped, so I may be looking to cut down on the word count for future shows. This is my first attempt at writing anything fictional, and I'm not super-comfortable in my ability to bring out my main ideas without relying on a lot of words. Possibly, with a bit more experience under my belt and some of PWC's key characters a bit more established, I'll feel a bit more confident that I can afford to be concise.</p><p> </p><p>

Thanks to Theheel for your words of encouragement. I'll be on the lookout for your upcoming dynasty in the new year.</p><p> </p><p>

Thanks to Theheel, again, and to BHK1978, KnowYourEnemy and batsnumbereleven for predicting. After 1 show, we have a four-way tie in the prediction contest with 6 points apiece.</p>

<strong>James "Mainstream" Hernandez vs Mr. Lucha III</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Peter Michaels may have been convinced by The Most Marketable Man in Wrestling's pre-match pitch last week, as he's slotted James "Mainstream" Hernandez into the main event of PWC's second episode of Rising From the Ashes. But Mainstream will have a stiff test in front of him in the form of Mexican icon Mr. Lucha III. The masked man will no doubt be out to prove himself a contender in his Phoenix Wrestling Company debut. Will Mainstream be up to the challenge?</p><p> </p><p>

Frankie Perez, Remmy Skye, and ??? vs Legacy</p><p> </p><p>

Perez and Skye are out for revenge on Legacy after their 3-on-2 post match attack last week, and Skye has promised that he knows just the right person to help them get it. Legacy, having apparently expanded to three members with the addition of Ash Campbell, has vowed that they will claim the victory that they so richly deserve against the men who ruined their PWC debut. This week’s show opens just as last week’s ended, with Legacy standing tall in the ring.</p><p> </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="wo4Ntzm.jpg?1" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/wo4Ntzm.jpg?1" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="HF8CuEi.jpg?1" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/HF8CuEi.jpg?1" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="LsIyujb.jpg?1" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/LsIyujb.jpg?1" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p>

Matty K has a microphone and lets everyone know that the result of last week’s main event was a travesty and an injustice and that it was clearly Legacy who deserved to walk away with the victory. Unfortunately, they were robbed of their rightful win by two low-class nobodies who should never even have been in the same ring with them in the first place. But tonight Legacy will take the victory they’re owed and make an example of Perez, Skye and whatever no-talent loser they’ve found to team with them in the process. Because now that “The Artist” Ash Campbell has taken his place in Legacy, their elite group has gotten even stronger. And even if The Artist doesn’t have quite the same pedigree as the Keith family (and let’s face it, who does?) his genetics are still vastly superior to those of the rest of the Neanderthals in PWC.</p><p> </p><p>

Now it’s time for G-Reg to spit some fire—he’s got something special in store for all the haters out there. As The Artist looks on and nods approvingly, G-Reg grabs the mic, poses for a moment with crossed arms, and begins: “Yo yo yo! Check this, fools . . .” But before he can begin rhyming, he’s once again interrupted by Perez and Skye.</p><p> </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="ITTJ9vC.jpg?1" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/ITTJ9vC.jpg?1" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="l3px0jJ.jpg?1" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/l3px0jJ.jpg?1" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="qGz9SPl.jpg?1" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/qGz9SPl.jpg?1" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p>

And this time they’ve got backup. It’s the “Frizzy-Haired Phenom” Fro Sure! While Perez remains focused and serious, Skye and Fro are laughing and joking as they make their way to the ring. The camera catches Skye telling Fro that he told him it was all true while Fro can barely contain his amusement at what he’s just witnessed in the ring.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Frankie Perez, Remmy Skye and Fro Sure vs Legacy</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p>

An irate Legacy launch another attack before the opening bell, but this time their opponents are prepared for the tactic. After meeting stiff resistance, all three members of Legacy are forced to bail out of the ring and regroup at ringside. When the match begins officially, it quickly becomes clear that there is no love lost between the two teams as none of the six competitors in the ring pulls any punches. The recruitment of Fro Sure appears to be paying big dividends for Perez and Skye early on, as the big-haired brawler has the size and the fire to go toe-to-toe with Legacy. The smaller Perez and Skye, meanwhile, rely on speed and maneuverability to launch quick-hitting attacks on their larger, stronger opponents. An even, back-and-forth contest ensues until it eventually becomes clear that Perez is determined to get his hands on the apparent leader of Legacy, Matty K. Using his opponent’s aggression against him, Matty is able to lure Perez into the Legacy corner where a momentary distraction from G-Reg provides him the opportunity to level the smaller man from behind with a massive lariat. From there, Legacy dominates the match, keeping the heat on Perez with a series of quick tags but never quite finding a way to keep him down for good.</p><p> </p><p>

It’s Skye who eventually bails his partner out, diving into the ring and providing Perez enough of a breather to make the hot tag to Fro Sure. Fro is on fire, taking on all three members of Legacy on his own as referee Francis Long escorts Skye from the ring. With Perez out of commission on the outside, however, the numbers game works to Legacy’s advantage. G-Reg attacks the departing Skye, knocking him off the ring apron and drawing Long’s attention while Campbell sneaks up behind Fro to deliver a brutal low blow. By the time Long has returned his attention to the ring, the legal man Matty K has crushed the incapacitated Fro with a springboard powerbomb and locked him in the Proton Lock in the center of the ring. With no help to be found, Fro Sure has no option but to tap out.</p><p> </p><p>

Rating: C+</p><p> </p><p>

Legacy bails out of the ring quickly as a recovering Perez and Skye crawl back in to check on their partner. Matty K has a microphone again as he and his partners retreat slowly back up the aisle. He lets everyone in attendance know that justice has now been served and, as will always happen, Legacy has gotten exactly what it deserves. Perez, Skye and Fro, still in the ring, do not look happy.</p><p> </p><p>

Davey has another boombox over his shoulder. Dealz raps a few verses about how Ali and Davey are dominant forces and won’t let any distractions slow them down on their way to the top of PWC. Ali’s opponent, Mark “Crazy Eyes” Griffin, gives Dealz the crazy eye from the ring.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Ali vs Mark “Crazy Eyes” Griffin</strong></p><p><strong>

</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p>

This one is a wild brawl through and through. Ali holds nothing back, but Crazy Eyes is just crazy enough to keep up with him blow for blow. What Griffin doesn’t have, however, is an ally at ringside. While Dealz distracts referee Pee-Wee Germaine, Davey climbs onto the ring apron and swings a meaty paw at Griffin. Although he’s able to dodge, the distraction leaves Griffin easy prey for Ali, who stuns him with a lungblower from behind and wastes no time hoisting him up for a Death Valley Driver and securing the pinfall victory.</p><p> </p><p>

As Peter Michaels laments the consecutive tainted finishes, we cut to the backstage area where Remmington Remus is standing by with two large men.</p><p> </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="OS68YDF.jpg?1" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/OS68YDF.jpg?1" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="SJBvll9.jpg?1" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/SJBvll9.jpg?1" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="foijDIw.jpg?1" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/foijDIw.jpg?1" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p>

Ross Henry is back for his second PWC show. He tells Remus how impressed he was by what he saw from ringside last week. But tonight is going to be even better because his boy Bulldozer Brandon Smith is going to be in action. He and Bulldozer go way back, and he knows that the big man has something special in store for PWC fans tonight.</p><p> </p><p>

Smith is all smiles, but before he is able to get a word in, two new figures stroll into the scene.</p><p> </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="X33lDLe.jpg?1" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/X33lDLe.jpg?1" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="rF7XxxI.jpg?1" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/rF7XxxI.jpg?1" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p>

Ignoring Smith, Mainstream tells Henry that he’s got a great look and that he might just have what it takes to cross over into the mainstream culture and achieve success. Ms. Buck offers Henry her business card and suggests that he give her a call if he ever wants to see what a marketing genius like herself can do for him.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>“The Professor” Steven Parker vs Ernest Youngman</strong></p><p><strong>

</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p>

Back in the ring, Steven Parker faces off with Ernest Youngman. Before the bell, Parker appears to be attempting to offer his opponent a few tips on how to develop a character that will connect with the fans, but Youngman remains stone faced and shows no reaction. When the action starts, the two competitors put on a fabulous display of technical and counter wrestling. As they trade hold and counter-hold and reversal, neither man can gain a sustained advantage. Until, that is, Youngman catches Parker in a waistlock off a go-behind and launches him into the turnbuckles with a release German suplex. </p><p> </p><p>

From there, Youngman takes over for an extended period of time, tying Parker up in knots on the mat and forcing him to escape from several dangerous submission attempts. With Parker trying to survive, Youngman builds momentum, hitting a series of bigger and bigger high-impact moves for a series of close two-counts. But The Professor still has a few tricks up his sleeve. As Youngman tries to hoist Parker to his shoulders, Parker catches him in a crucifix and in one quick motion drags him to the mat and rolls him into a small package for the three-count victory.</p><p> </p><p>

Rating: B</p><p> </p><p>

The victorious Parker immediately bails out of the ring, exhausted. But he’s not too exhausted to grab a microphone and impart some wisdom to the crowd on his way to the back. Once again his superior wrestling education has prevailed, as it always will. Parker invites Youngman to look upon this match as a learning experience. Not everyone has the opportunity to get in the ring with a true master in his prime. And while he may have a long way to go before he’s on The Professor’s level, there’s no shame in coming up short against the best technical wrestler in the world today. In the ring, Youngman shows no emotion or reaction whatsoever.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Davis Wayne Newton vs Frankie Dee</strong></p><p><strong>

</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p>

The martial artist Frankie Dee is out to make a strong first impression in PWC, but the heavily hyped showman Davis Wayne Newton presents a stiff test in his debut match. Wrestling without his partner KC Glenn, Newton appears primed and focused in the early going, quickly controlling his opponent with holds and leaving Dee no space to unleash his striking. A few minutes into the match, however, a lone figure emerges from backstage to get a closer look at the action.</p><p> </p><p>

On seeing Glenn in the aisle, Newton shifts his focus outside the ring, talking and gesturing to his partner. The cameras pick up a few snippets of conversation from Newton, including him telling Glenn to “watch this” right before turning around into a massive head kick from Dee that nearly ends the match. Dee lays into Newton with chops and strikes, trapping him on the ropes as Glenn winces in sympathy on the outside. With Glenn yelling advice and encouragement from ringside, it’s now Dee’s turn to become distracted. Dee tells Glenn to shut his mouth and stay out of the way. But he’s left an opening for Newton to hit him with the chickenwing gutbuster from behind—and that’s exactly what happens. Newton gets the three-count. After the bell, Glenn enters the ring to celebrate with his partner, but Newton doesn’t appear too enthusiastic about sharing the spotlight.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Steven Flash and Bulldozer Brandon Smith vs Kenny and Thomas Morgan</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p>

We get our first glimpse of three new faces in PWC here, along with one returning competitor in Kenny. All four men are veterans in the sport, but none of them have teamed with their partners before. Morgan seems to be keen to go after Flash, but he doesn’t find much success as the ageless wonder has an answer for everything Morgan has to throw at him. Smith, by far the largest man in the match, is particularly dominant. With Morgan attempting to go after Flash on the outside, Bulldozer and Kenny are left to battle it out in the ring. Kenny secures a rear waistlock and goes for a suplex. It’s a fruitless attempt against the much heavier Smith, however. Smith neatly spins out and pulls Kenny into a short clothesline that nearly takes his head off. From there, Smith hoists his lifeless opponent into a nasty package piledriver, and the pinfall is academic.</p><p> </p><p>

In advance of our main event, another new face in PCW is out to introduce himself to the crowd.</p><p> </p><p>

Mr. Lucha III tells the audience how honored he is to be able to represent the history and culture of Mexican lucha libre in the United States and promises to bring his heart and soul into the ring every night to make sure that the fans get to see the greatest in-ring action he is capable of delivering. Before he can continue, though, The Most Marketable Man in Wrestling emerges from backstage with his personal marketing consultant in tow.</p><p> </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="X33lDLe.jpg?1" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/X33lDLe.jpg?1" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><img alt="rF7XxxI.jpg?1" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/rF7XxxI.jpg?1" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p>

Hernandez offers Lucha some valuable advice, telling him that he’s going to have a hard time achieving mainstream stardom from underneath a mask. It’s a cool gimmick and all, and selling replica masks may present a unique merchandising opportunity, but ultimately the whole masked wrester thing is just too niche to really cross over into mainstream culture. Buck takes the mic and tells Lucha that, although she doesn’t know what he looks like under the mask, she’s pretty sure that she’d be able to design a much better image for him so if he ever wants to take a run at the big time he should look her up. Lucha appears confused.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>James “Mainstream” Hernandez vs Mr. Lucha III</strong></p><p><strong>

</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p>

Hernandez graciously offers Lucha a handshake before the bell, and the masked man accepts. When the action begins, it’s fast and furious right from the start. Lucha clearly means to make good on his promise to leave it all in the ring every time he wrestles, and Mainstream is ready, willing and able to keep up with him spot-for-spot. Early on, Mainstream seems to want to pose and play to the crowd whenever he has the advantage, but it quickly becomes clear that Lucha is more than capable of punishing him for any moment of distraction. Hernandez is able to adapt accordingly, buckle down, and stay focused on the task at hand, and a highly competitive match ensues. </p><p> </p><p>

After nearly 15 minutes of fast-paced action, both wrestlers are showing signs of wear and tear. It’s clear that any mistake at this point of the match is likely to be critical. It turns out to be Mr. Lucha III who makes that mistake, attempting a frog splash only to crash down onto Mainstream’s upraised knees. Mainstream takes the opportunity to plant his stunned opponent with a move he calls the Crossover Appeal (Sliced Bread #2), vault to the top rope and leap off into a picture perfect moonsault. It’s enough, barely, to secure the three-count.</p><p> </p><p>

Rating: B</p><p> </p><p>

After the match, Mainstream takes the opportunity to climb to the top rope and pose with his signature thumbs-up for the crowd. He calls for a microphone, but before he’s able to begin speaking a loud commotion erupts from the backstage area.</p><p> </p><p>

Apparently, the issues between Legacy and the team of Frankie Perez, Remmy Skye and Fro Sure were not settled by their match earlier in the evening. The six men are engaging in an all-out brawl in the entranceway, smashing each other into pieces of the set and generally causing havoc and destruction as an annoyed Mainstream looks on from the ring and Peter Michaels calls for backstage security to try and restore order. Referees and road agents are sent flying as the six men refuse to be contained. It’s this chaotic scene that closes out the second episode of PWC: Rising From the Ashes.</p><p> </p><p>
