AQuebman
Maybe its just been my luck but everytime a guy gets the mount they never throw regular punches it's just elbow after elbow. I could see a guy who favors though but most of the fighters i've seen who get a mount just throw bows over and over. Anyone else see this? They've thrown some but it's usually mixed in with other strikes.
AQuebman
hmm maybe its just been the fighters ive had they have been throwing bows like crazy its been kind of amusing honestly. That being said the fight engine is amazing I was just curious as it stood out to me and my QA Brain couldn't turn off for a second and just enjoy the hilarity of Captain Elbows and his merry men were all fighting for Gamma apparently. Adam Ryland
It would depend on the fighter's skills; someone whose elbow strike stats are higher than their punches will favour the former, for obvious reasons, if the rules allow him to use them. You'll generally see punches because most people have better punch skills than elbows, but you could certainly get a show with primarily elbows if you happened to book a specific set of fighters. It was amusing, I guess the superheavys have some brutal elbows lol.
Poputt
Isn't the point of mounted elbows just to cut the brow and get a TKO? <img alt="" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/confused.png.d4a8e6b6eab0c67698b911fb041c0ed1.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

So you can keep your belly/chest over an opponents head and stay active with short strikes, without the need to posture up.

It's harder to do massive damage with elbows from a postured up mount (if the opponent is defending) as without 12-6 elbows you don't have the same angles available as you do with punching straight down/around the guard/hammer-fisting.
Poputt
That's what I mean, they're kind of a waste of energy unless you're going for a blood stoppage.

Rebby
Not to sound like advertisement or anything, but if you DO feel like there are too many elbows, you can totally edit that in the fight engine >_>

So if you're trying to keep the top position without being stood up for inactivity or risking the sweep/shrimp against a guy with good hips, you throw short elbows.
