LAX Wrestling: The War for SoCal

He stares at the cloudy glass of whiskey before him; deep in thought. His intense stare, detached from the noisy room around him, tells of a man who cannot escape his own inner-demons. While the world exists around him, he remains fixated on some sort of twisted narrative in his head; one he probably construes to fit his destructive state.

 

Seated at a high-top bar table, one littered with white rings of drinks gone by, the weathered man looks as though he’s contemplating life itself. Not in a depressive, waterfall of tears kind of way. Instead, in a more combative, frustrative manner; albeit hidden behind the detached state he currently resides within.

 

The look of torn up music event posters behind him, appearing more like ragged wallpaper than newly laid events, provides an apt background to the scene before us. There is no glitz here. No glamour. Instead, we find a man far past a crossroads; wondering if he took the right path all those years ago.

 

Without pulling his gaze from his cloudy glass, the man begins to speak; slowly… quietly… raspy…

 

“Who the f*ck cares…”

 

The man continues to stare deep into his shallow glass of whiskey.

 

“That was a long time ago…. and most didn’t even know it was f*cking taking place.”

 

CJ Weston, the man of controversial fame, looks up toward someone off-camera. As he does so, the camera lens becomes unfocused and returns to the shot. That said, it takes a few seconds to do so.

 

“Seriously…”

 

CJ looks as though his confusion is wrapped in a sense of underlying anger. His browline, practically engulfing his eyes at this point, casts a shadow across his face; one of frustration.

 

We then hear an unknown male’s voice peer from off-camera.

 

“The War for SoCal has become this… this… cult phenomenon. Wrestling fans can’t get enough of it. We want to tell that story. The TRUE story. How it all went down…”

 

CJ shakes his head, scoffing to himself, as he reaches out and grabs his drink. In one fluid sense of movement, he takes a swig of his whiskey; rolling his tongue across his teeth afterward. Seconds later, he turns his head to the side and pops his neck; as if he was preparing for something (something he wasn’t excited to talk about).

 

He then looks away from the voice off-camera and looks directly at the camera lens.

 

“You want to know about the War for SoCal?”

 

A slight snarl/smirk forms upon CJ’s face for a matter of a few seconds. That said, has he begins to speak, it fades into the background. Instead, now we are left with a man who looks as though he’s releasing his own anger through explanation.

 

“There’s no happy ending here for you. No ‘Hollywood bull-sh*t’ to feed you. Nobody won this f*cking thing. We all lost; lost everything. Sure… One company stayed open, you could call them the winners… but… nobody f*cking won… and NOW… you want to know the story? The real story? Well f*ck…”

 

That snarl/smirk forms upon CJ Weston’s face once again. It looks like he’s buying into the moment because he feels like he’s leading a lamb to slaughter. The wrestling fans, obsessed with what went on during this time, in his mind, have no idea what took place. In turn, he feels as though he’s about to enlighten them on the hell they all went through. That, and that alone, brings the snarl/smirk to his face; the feeling of removing a sense of innocence from these ‘naive idiots’.

 

“How much time ya got?”

 

CJ KNOWS that this statement is rather ambiguous. That said, when paired with his snarl/smirk, it creates a feeling as though something crazy is on the horizon.

 

The scene slowly fades out with the sight of CJ taking his last swig of whiskey. Upon doing so, he slams the glass down and slides it over to the end of the stained table. In doing so, the table wobbles a bit; showing that even said table has seen better days.

Seriously, I'm so excited to read this. You're using a lot of names that haven't really been made the focal point of diaries around here. It has a Lucha Underground type feel to it. I already love CJ Weston as well. He has that angry, defiant vibe to him that a lot of your user characters do. However, he almost feels more accessible, like he's blunt rather than jaded. </p><p> </p><p>

I will be posting an "official roster page" coming up (one that I can link throughout the dynasty -- updating it as new people come in and others leave). From there, I will give you the first card.

 

As the first card is out there, I will also unveil an initial story that takes place between GSW/LAX Wrestling (one that has a basis in what happened in-game early on in my save). That story will have 3 different perspectives layered in the same post; painting a picture of GSW already looking to "attack" LAX Wrestling (in a way).

I agree with your line of thinking here, KYE.

 

Jerry Eisen is a business professional. Yes, he was underhanded; however, it was solely about his own egotistical nature. He wanted to rule the industry, much like his father had once done. In that vein, he was there to protect the SWF at any cost; hiding the bad, pushing the good, and attempting to usher in a new era of success.

 

CJ Weston is not a business professional. He IS egotistical like Jerry; however, not for the sake of his company. As you'll come to see, CJ is using LAX Wrestling as his vehicle to get "back at others" who he feel "wronged him." He's far more emotional than calculating. Knowing this, he'll act out emotionally and impulsively; where Jerry is FAR more protected than that.

 

As for beating out CZCW, our first show went really well at first (coming away with some great grades). Sadly, my production was less than other companies and that really hurt my overall show grade. I bumped some things up after that; however, don't want to go too far with that (as we don't have oodles of money to really keep up that way).

 

I know its been said on here before, but I too am really looking forward to this diary.

The winds of war have picked up in Southern California and this is your opportunity to join the chaos. For the next 10 events, we will have a prediction contest where the final top three will be able to create their own wrestlers to join LAX Wrestling; putting their arrival just in-time for the build to next year’s “Battle for Los Angeles.”

 

While each member of the top three are able to create a wrestler to join the LAX ranks, the final ranking will decide how “over” this new wrestler will be.

 

1st Place -

Your created wrestler will come in with an “E-” for overness in the South West

2nd Place -

Your created wrestler will come in with a “F+” for overness in the South West

3rd Place -

Your created wrestler will come in with an “F” for overness in the South West

 

The true benefit of winning the prediction contest is that your created wrestler will already hold an Upper Midcarder status upon coming into LAX Wrestling. A backstory will be developed to explain WHY they’re coming in at a higher level for a newcomer. That said, it will toss your character straight into “the fire”; so to speak.

 

The 1st card will be up sometime tomorrow. That said, I know that early cards are always hard to predict. Either way, good luck to you all!
