2000-2001 NBA Season Preview

<img alt="oDBqpQw.png" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/oDBqpQw.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

Atlantic Division: The Orlando Magic are favorites to dominate this division again. This has been going on for years and the Magic look set on revenging the last 2 finals losses to the Dallas Mavericks. Shaq and Penny don't look to be slowing down right now and the East seems to be under their control for the coming future.

<img alt="Ja96fuU.png" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/Ja96fuU.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

<img alt="As1x6CR.png" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/As1x6CR.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

Central Division: A crowded central Division has seen many disappointing teams come and go, but it looks like the motor city could have what it takes to rule the central and maybe give Shaq and Penny a run for their money. Could the Pistons have what it takes on the backs of Hill and Houston to make the motor city a city of champions?

<img alt="VDKLxb1.png" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/VDKLxb1.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

<img alt="TB7DNBT.png" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/TB7DNBT.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

Midwest Division: The back to back champs, the defending champions called Dallas Mavericks are favorites to not only win the division they are in, but have to be a favorite to win the title again. They seem to do it with a little bit of challenge in their way and well on to being the new dynasty in this game. Can anyone stop Triple J at all?

<img alt="ckMZsn6.png" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/ckMZsn6.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

<img alt="wsZx7Av.png" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/wsZx7Av.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

<img alt="ZfSkrGI.png" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/ZfSkrGI.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

Pacific Divison: The game predicts us as the favorite to take the Pacific division and perhaps a true test to the Dallas Mavericks out in the midwest. With AI, KG, and VC all under contract for the foreseeable future, we should have given ourselves a shot at the finals and maybe a finals trophy.

2000-2001 Season Roster

Centers:

ilXBzsb.png

A young big man with some solid attributes here and there, he will not be Wallace by any means, but a solid piece to help us build up if we don't reach our goal here.

Power Forwards:

fnTEHI2.png

Bench player for us, solid but unspectacular.

wsZx7Av.png

Our Star Player and really you could call him Mr. Clipper for what he means to the franchise.

Small Forwards:

ZfSkrGI.png

The Third Piece of our Big Four? Vince should be able to be resigned as I clear cap space by trading away Piatkowski in the offseason.

0TI1dHf.png

Solid backup and a future player or starter really in the league.

Shooting Guards:

kU6ddC4.png

Part of our trade package this offseason for sure. Not much for him to add to us overall.

Vcocdpl.png

Solid bench player

LcnMzW0.png

Bench as well

Point Guards:

ckMZsn6.png

Our star point guard, which is the first we have had in such a long time. Hopefully he leads us to the promise land of a title this season or in the future for the new LA Dynasty.

T0279dj.png

bench player for us

4xR8LWt.png

I have plans to put Iverson at the two and put Troy at the one for us in the future.

Thanks for the update, man. Hope you're feeling better. A Clippers championship would cure that flu right off LOL

Id take a finals appearance at this point. Thank you for the well wishes, missed updating this on a weekly basis.

Been following this since the beginning....looking forward to seeing the next chapter! Best wishes for your health!

Thanks for sticking around and thanks for the wishes. I think the 2000s part of this dynasty has big plans for us.

2000-2001 Season First Month Stats/Standings

<img alt="XiWakEc.png" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/XiWakEc.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

A tough month for us here, but I do have some faith in us backing it back in and if not we can always look to the draft. The loss of Wallace was bigger than I originally fotetold and that really sucks because I thought Iverson would take us to Finals Level talent team.

<img alt="OzgGb5x.png" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/OzgGb5x.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

We need to dump Piatkowski this offseason and transition this Clippers team to the truly new era. Find out how much Vince wants next season as well as I decide what to do with him overall.

<img alt="mSC9iZL.png" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/mSC9iZL.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

This isn't how I thought our season would turn out the first two months. In fact it looks like we are heading backwards from last year and more towards a terrible sucking year for us. The 01 Draft definitely has its prospects, but no one in there really is of interest for me besides Arenas and we have Iverson for the next few years.

<img alt="96cUrax.png" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/96cUrax.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

Garnett being gone for 9 games gives us some insight, but we were terrible with him in the lineup. I cannot explain it.

<img alt="G4cdTgi.png" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/G4cdTgi.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

With the loss of our Defensive anchor in Wallace we have really faltered this season and the offseason will be a big time for us to pick up some defensive assets as well as making our bench deeper for a finals push.

Definitely not the draft that one cares about being near the top with.....but at least you should have some pieces to trade this season that could change your fortunes going forth if nothing else..

<img alt="ShVrm2S.png" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/ShVrm2S.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

And we go further down each day here. It looks like we headed for a lottery and maybe trading picks and perhaps look for some good free agents and such.

<img alt="xssd6lj.png" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/xssd6lj.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

Some under-performing play but we do have four men sharing the scoring even tho I don't want McDyess or Piatkowski scoring as much as our main three. Something has to change and soon for us.

Do you even have your draft picks this year? I agree that the scoring load should be VC, then AI, then KG. Maybe the offense is too balanced out? I guess Big Ben was a really, REALLY irreplaceable part of your defense <img alt=":(" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/frown.png.e6b571745a30fe6a6f2e918994141a47.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

My guess is AI as the primary ball handler isn't the best idea and KG needs more of the ball and that really leaves Carter in his con tract year the odd man out for me. Also yes it was a mistake to part ways with Big Ben, in my defense(nothing intentional) I really wanted AI.

Chris Webber got a ring? Cool!

Big Ben rubbing that DPOY in your face, for sure LOL

Any thoughts on maybe sliding AI to SG, VC to SF, then finding a PG who can shoot and defend? You've certainly got the pieces but I think you'll need more defense and shooting to complement the big three.

Hopefully you can work something out and all three of them stay together.

The thoughts on putting Iverson at SG is my main plan, but I have to find a PG who can handle and pass the ball for us while not shooting under .420 roam the field and and point guard like that this offseason wants a 60-80 million dollar deal. Something I can't afford to be so wasteful of cap room, especially if VC wants to spend his offseason looking for offers. VC is currently playing SF and its going eh. IDK what else I can do for him and he looks like the piece I would like to move on if I were being honest.

Agent Zero, Gilbert Arenas is a Celtic with the first overall pick and looks to pair some winning with Michael Finley.

We went after Billups/Stockon, but Stockon was getting crazy contracts at 38 and I said no to that and Billups was getting the Max from the Grizzles. Hudson got 60 million from the Wizards and Im fine with that. He isn't worth that at all.

Atlantic Division:

With a aging Shaq and Penny. Father Time is looking to collect on the Orlando Magic as their dynasty just might be coming to a very ugly end especially if the Magic don't re up their assets and try to become something more competitive.

Central Division:

WE DA NORTH. The Toronto Raptors look to run the highly difficult to predict Central Division and with Jerry Stackhouse, a number of young talent to build on and Tim Duncan whom they stole from the Hawks in a pretty one sided trade. The Raptors want to be the team that comes out of the east instead of the Heat and Magic

<img alt="SrgbPrH.png" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/SrgbPrH.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

Midwest Division:

Coming off a lost to the Heat in the 2001 NBA Finals, the Dallas Mavericks are back to sweep the Midwest division and the western conference as a whole but Kobe is here and him and the Grizzles are ready to cause some trouble. Triple J has about 3-4 more years to be the best trio in the league and they could very well fall off for the season as a whole.

Pacific Division:

Lead by Kittles and McGrady, the Suns look to make their name known in the Pacific Division, but only the playoffs can tell which team will defeat the Dallas Mavericks and stop their hold on the West.
