Nothing like coming back from a long weekend to find the Slam write-up. Love Gino toppling the giant, even if I didn't think it would happen. I hoped he'd be the Canadian Champion sooner rather than later, but I didn't see him being the one to end Gargantuan's run. Also, Hernandez coming in at 30 and winning shouldn't be a big surprise, but in a scripted world, it just rarely happens. Great show, Lloyd!

<p>As BigJay mentioned winning from 30 seems rare so I do always respect that choice when it happens. In an ideal world coming in anywhere in like the top 10 should basically make winning impossible. Some might call that boring... maybe they're right! Either way winning from 30 makes the whole 'what number will somebody pick story' next year more interesting. </p><p> </p><p>

It's crazy to me to see a NOTBPW with no Stones in the main event, although I imagine Edd must be upper midcard. I imagine Duane is getting on but would still love him to return.</p>

By any chance is SAYEED ALI, and James Hernandez listed under different names in the mods? Im trying to find them in the 2018 cverse mod and am having trouble

I believe in the 2018 mod, Sayeed Ali is listed under the name East Side Assassin. Works for 4C, FCW, IPW, and WEXXV. I'm not certain about Hernandez, but he was working for SWF in 2016 as Mainstream Hernandez, so I'd start there first. At the very least you could look at their alumni tab and find him there

This isn't one of my usual tangents but, hey Lloyd, whatever happened to The Ice Man? I noticed hes not injured nor on the roster. I'm also failing to see any point of mention of if he was let go or not.

IIRC, his contract was up and Lloyd wrote Frosty out as a pseudo-firing by Alex. He was injured, but that was just as he headed for the door.

Still hoping for Chase to be that secret manager

I'd say the secret manager is almost on Chase's level... but not quite... Just hope you're not disappointed.

Glad the two big surprises surprised you, along with almost everyone else.

Yeh I agree with both of you here/ Realistically, the winner should always be from 20-30... Unless nobody in the final ten is any good. So if the 20s were full of midcarders or lower, a guy elsewhere as a Main Event level talent should/could beat them all. Additionally, a Main Eventer in the final ten could get taken out by one late on that's not in the final ten. Or some other extenuating circumstances. I like to start Rumble matches with two potential winners as entrants 1 and 2. And almost always have a big name at 30!

As for the Stones. It's the way the Universe is going to go I'm afraid. Duane can't wrestle forever, and Edd doesn't actually work for NOTBPW unless the new cverse brings him back for tew20. Dan and Jeremy are retired. Tew16 could be the last time we have NOTBPW with Stones on top, and CGC with DeColts on top!

ode_gregge is probably right, although I've never played the mod myself. James Hernandez, Jimmy Hernandez, Mainstream Hernandez. Could be any of those.

Derek Frost was storyline fired, and now works down in developmental as a trainer. I don't have immediate plans to bring him back but he'll always have a job here!

Robin DaLay [vs] 'The Ace' Aaron Andrews

Poor Robin continues to pay his dues...

Donte Dunn & Akima Brave [vs] Erik Strong 'Though' & Lord James King

You've been no secret professing your love for Akima Brave, and Donte Dunn is clearly the star of the former tag team... though, I don't believe he's truly had that final blow off singles match with Strong!

'The Stud' Christian Price [vs] 'The Animal' Edd Stone

Price is great and I think this is one of the first times we've seen him in singles action... I still think Stone should be much higher up the card than he is, so I'm giving him the win when the match is a singles one.

The John Maverick Retirement Tour

'The Iron Fist' Dan DaLay [vs] 'The Silent Threat' John Maverick

A DaLay win that I don't pick knowing I am giving up a point! Maverick has been a consummate professional and he continues that on this tour, going out and losing to old friends and young up and comers alike.

'The Amazing' Jacob Jett [vs] 'The Riddler' POISON

POISON's cooled off while Jett just picked up the huge win over Thrill Seeker... I see him getting another win here to cement himself in that upper midcard-main event level.

'Magnificent' Gino Montero [vs] 'The Saviour of Wrestling' Jonathan Faust

Champion wrestles on free TV shortly after his historic win and gets what should be a pretty simple win over a midcard vet.

Robin DaLay [vs] 'The Ace' Aaron Andrews

The feud with the Stones may catapult Andrews into quite the spot in NOTBPW.

Donte Dunn & Akima Brave [vs] Erik Strong 'Though' & Lord James King

King strikes me as the lowest man on the totem pole here. Brave gets some momentum to shed to a heel in the near future, and Dunn gets his win over Strong.

'The Stud' Christian Price [vs] 'The Animal' Edd Stone

Price is a tag team stalwart, but I don't think he has much of a run here in singles action. Edd continues to show he can be a star here.

The John Maverick Retirement Tour

'The Iron Fist' Dan DaLay [vs] 'The Silent Threat' John Maverick

While the retirement angle points to going out on your shield, I think that he beats DaLay to get some momentum and pop before dropping that to some of the younger guys on the way out. DaLay can take a loss here to an old friend with no issue.

'The Amazing' Jacob Jett [vs] 'The Riddler' POISON

Perhaps Seeker makes this a shady win, but POISON is hot right now. I do hope Jett makes some splashes in singles action soon, though.

'Magnificent' Gino Montero [vs] 'The Saviour of Wrestling' Jonathan Faust

Montero can't lose immediately after toppling Gargantuan.

Robin DaLay [vs] 'The Ace' Aaron Andrews

The Ace picks up the win as he continues to target the Stone family with his lawsuit.

Donte Dunn & Akima Brave [vs] Erik Strong 'Though' & Lord James King

The Barbadian Barbarian delivers som o dem Sunny Daze to somebody.

'The Stud' Christian Price [vs] 'The Animal' Edd Stone

Interesting matchup. Looks like Edd gets a chance to build himself up by beating on his former proteges. I think this leads to Edd stealing the Canadian title down the line.

The John Maverick Retirement Tour

'The Iron Fist' Dan DaLay [vs] 'The Silent Threat' John Maverick

DaLay finally gets a win against the outgoing Maverick.

'The Amazing' Jacob Jett [vs] 'The Riddler' POISON

It would seem Jett is headed for something big. POISON's star seems to have fallen following his hot rivalry with Steve DeColt.

'Magnificent' Gino Montero [vs] 'The Saviour of Wrestling' Jonathan Faust

Magnifico shows why they gave him the ball to run with.

[NOTE: I lost this show having written around half of it, which is a bugger... I wrote it all again though, so don't worry... This time might even be better...?! Maybe...?! Anyway, I've decided to strip things back somewhat... Having read through some shows from my previous NOTBPW/CGC Diary, I really liked the layout. So from now on, the format will change slightly here... Things will be less 'wordy', and the characters will speak more often... Let me know what you think]

APRIL 2018, WEEK 4…

Show Rating: 90

Announce Team:

9eHH4Wa.pnglNhSZHh.jpgeXOBXiC.jpg

Peter Michaels, Tom Townsend and Adrian Garcia

Show Opening: Put your money where your mouth is

HvyKPXq.jpg

A smiling and cocky looking 'Mainstream' James Hernandez headed to the ring to kick things off tonight...

James Hernandez:
“At Super Slam... I won the 30 Man Over The Top Rope Rumble Match! Just like I said I would... and now... I don't even have to fight Gargantuan to win the NOTBPW Canadian Title... All I have to do, is beat a man who KNOWS he's not as intimidating as 'The Monster'... and KNOWS he won't be the favourite heading in... A man who I will PROVE, is a fraud... Gino... Montero...”

pbTaNg8.png

It didn't take long for Gino to hear enough from Hernandez, and the 'Magnificent' Mexican strolled out to join Hernandez...

Gino Montero:
“You had a big win at Super Slam Jimmy... But so did I... and I did something you have NEVER done... I beat... 'The Monster'... Gargantuan!! And now I hold THIS...!! You think I'm a fraud...?! Well was I a fraud when I beat YOU at the DeColt WrestleFestival to EARN the shot at Gargantuan in the first place...?!”

Gino Montero won a two day Tournament at the DeColt WrestleFestival... pinning James Hernandez in the Triple Threat Final!!

ZD58XbM.jpg

The other man in that final, was 'The Young Gun' Ricky DeColt... and he joined the arguing men in the ring...

Ricky DeColt:
“Yu know what... I'm gonna save you guys a lot of time... James Hernandez goes to Mid Summer Madness... to fight Gino Montero for the NOTBPW Canadian Title... Unless... Gino wants to prove he isn't a fraud... against the man he DIDN'T pin... at the DeColt WrestleFestival...!?”

Ricky DeColt laid down the challenge for Gino Montero to defend his Title against 'The Young Gun', in three weeks, at Glory!!

Peter Michaels:
“Did Gino Montero just accept the challenge gentlemen...?!”

Adrian Garcia:
“I believe he did, and I gotta say, I think it's a mistake... What's the last thing you want to do after a gruelling match against 'The Monster' Gargantuan...?! Fight against a DeColt Brother, that's what!!”

Tom Townsend:
“Well that's if he even makes it to Glory, Garcia... Tonight, Gino is in singles action, against Jonathan Faust in a first time ever meeting...”

Peter Michaels:
“Yes and speaking of Gargantuan... As far as I know, nobody has seen or heard from 'The Monster'... He could literally show up at any time!!”

Adrian Garcia:
“GULP! Wouldn't like to be Gino right now...”

Robin DaLay
[vs] 'The Ace'
Aaron Andrews

Aaron Andrews eliminated and then beat up Robin DaLay at Super Slam this past weekend. This grudge match was short, but very good. Robin fought hard, and caused Andrews a few problems, but he eventually succumbed to the 'Hot Shot'!

Winner:
'The Ace' Aaron Andrews

Finish:
'Hot Shot' (Spanish Fly)

Reiterate

IvyHiqr.jpgGZihasG.jpg

Aaron Andrews continued the beat down after the match was over, and made it two attacks in a row on Robin DaLay...

Aaron Andrews:
“You all know by now... I'm coming for The Stone Brothers... I'm going to SUE them for every penny they have... and in the process, bring this place down for not treating me properly... And I'm going to start... by taking out one of their favourites... At Glory... It's going to be Aaron Andrews... ending the career, of Dan DaLay!!”

Peter Michaels:
“We've just made TWO huge matches for Glory already gentlemen...!”

Adrian Garcia:
“With just two matches announced, I already can't WAIT for Glory... But I also do have it on good authority that Dan Stone Jr. and Jeremy Stone will be here LIVE next week, to address the Aaron Andrews situation!!”

60-51

MikTiQ9.jpg

We saw the same hype video we saw last week, except this time the numbers counted down from SIXTY to FIFTY-ONE...

Still no clues as to who the silhouetted bull represents... But the words 'They're Coming' made everyone think it's more than one person...

Akima Brave & Donte Dunn
[vs]
Erik Strong 'Though' & Lord James King

The strange pairing of Akima Brave and Donte Dunn actually gelled well in this match. They made light work of Dunn's former tag team partner Erik Strong 'Though' and 'Gentleman' Lord James King in the end. Dunn hit Strong with his 'Sunny Daze' spinning back fist, before Brave planted him with the brutal 'Samoan Suplex'.

75

Winners:
Akima Brave & Donte Dunn

Finish:
'Samoan Suplex' (Jackhammer)

Rookies versus Veterans

0xAVgQf.jpg2q1vUIB.jpgNx1U4Qa.jpgXP70MSR.jpg

Backstage, Sonny Wildside and Solomon Gold caught up with the CanAm Blondes (Owen Love and The Natural)... and things were tetchy...

Sonny Wildside:
“You boys eliminated me from the Rumble at Super Slam... But this isn't about that... This is about how you've treated Solomon (Gold) here ever since Owen (Love) came back from injury... You were MY partner on your first night back Owen... and since then, you've been nothing but an a*****e...!! So how about the two of us... versus the two of you...!! Next week!!”

Love and Natural looked at each other, and seemed worried... Then they belly laughed, and walked off, showing utter disrespect...!!

xiceyGo.jpg

Have Faith

MxvIUUg.jpg

Finally, after weeks of promos, it was time for Canadian Manager: Faith, to bring her 'Faith Enterprises' stable to NOTBPW...

Faith:
“That's right boys... I'm here now... and I liked what I saw at Super Slam... Particularly, the 30 Man Over The Top Rope Rumble Match...!! And I will be giving as many as THREE men, 'The Rub'... As they join Faith Enterprises... and become my first clients... Who are they...?! You'll find out soon enough...”

Faith teased the crowd, but didn't tell them who she'd approached... but THREE men is already sounding like a strong group...!

'The Stud'
Christian Price
w/ Cameron Vessey [vs] 'The Animal'
Edd Stone
w/ Tim Westybrook

The announce team gave credit where credit is due towards the end of this match, as they noted that Tim Westybrook had not gotten involved at all. However, right when they said that, he pulled Christian Price off the top rope, and he landed neck first across the ropes! This allowed Edd Stone to deliver a super kick, and follow it up with 'Party's Over' to win the match.

'Party's Over' Elbow Drop

SN6eB8l.jpgyXb40AU.jpgHNPGhkI.jpgx223VSW.jpg

After the match a furious Cameron Vessey jumped Edd Stone, and a brawl began between the four men...

NOTBPW General Manager and 'Match Maker' Dark Angel arrived on the stage as referees broke up the chaos...

Dark Angel:
“This is not a 1 on 1 feud... This is a tag team feud... and since this match has descended into chaos, I'm going to give you a Super Slam Re-match next week... Primed For Progress versus Iron and Stone... and the winners of that match, will go on to Glory to face the NOTBPW Tag Team Champions: Mayhem!! Good luck boys!!”

Peter Michaels:
“This rivalry continues to heat up... and now there's a NOTBPW Tag Team Title shot at stake!!”

Adrian Garcia:
“As if it needed any more reason to be brilliant Michaels... But the reason the feud between Primed For Progress and their former 'Animal' friends Iron and Stone started, was because of what Edd Stone did to Cameron Vessey's Uncle Bryan Vessey at the DeColt WrestleFestival...!”

Tom Townsend:
“Edd Stone was hand-picked as Special Guest Referee by Bryan, and he SCREWED his friend over in his Career versus Career Match with 'Angry' Tom Gilmore... The result... a complete split of the group known as The Animals... and... furthermore... Tom Gilmore hasn't been seen on NOTBPW Championship Wrestling for weeks!!”

Adrian Garcia:
“Yeah, and he's not here tonight either Townsend... He showed up at Super Slam... and we're hearing that we WILL hear from Gilmore, next week!!”

Iron Man gets a Reward

nj7nGHN.jpgzidj2kx.jpg

NOTBPW 'Match Maker' Dark Angel had a knock at his office door, and in walked El Fuego; the 'Iron Man' in the Super Slam Rumble...

Dark Angel:
“Ah yes. 'The Fire'... Man... I gotta tell ya... You WERE 'The Fire' at Super Slam... You lasted longer in that match than anyone else... AND... you picked up TWO eliminations... Good job kid... Now as a reward, you're going to be fighting one of the men you eliminated: You'll go 1 on 1, with KC Glenn, for the NOTBPW All Action Title... at Glory!!”

XHsJIUA.jpg

Furious at what he'd just heard, 'The Supreme' Spencer Spade burst into the office, and demanded Dark Angel re-think his decision...

Spencer Spade:
“El Fuego got two eliminations at Super Slam... One was KC Glenn, after I did all the work... and the other was ME... after he promised we'd work together in the Rumble Match!! He doesn't DESERVE a shot at Glenn...”

Dark Angel refused to change his mind... but told Spade to watch the match, as he could be next in line... Next week, Spade is back in singles action!!

The John Maverick Retirement Tour

'The Iron Fist'
Dan DaLay
[vs] 'The Silent Threat'
John Maverick

Last week, we broke the news that John Maverick would be leaving the company at the end of his current NOTBPW deal. Thoughts are he'll retire from in-ring competition when that happens, so he's embarking on something of a 'Retirement Tour' until that day. Tonight, he got to face one of his best friends in the business: Dan DaLay, who has a cast on his wrist, and a lot on his mind. Maverick took full advantage, and won the match at the 9 minute mark.

Shaffer On Deck

Sayeed Ali, Ross Henry and Lenny Brown were playing cards in their usual drinking hole, when Ali's rival Trent Shaffer arrived!!

aMrELcy.jpg

The Coast To Coast Connection all leapt out of their seats, completely ignoring the card game they had going on...

Trent Shaffer:
“Ali... I want YOU at Glory... for the NOTBPW Television Title... I want a re-match from Super Slam, and this time I want NO CTC Members causing distractions at ringside!!”

Ali told Shaffer he has a lot of nerve showing up at his bar... and that he should knock the man known as 'Cut Throat' out!!

Sayeed Ali:
“I should drop you where you stand for bursting in here like that... You want a re-match for the Television Title... You're gonna have to come better than that... These boys go where I go... So if you want another shot... You need to stop making excuses, and start giving me a reason to WANT to allow it...!!”

'The Amazing'
Jacob Jett
[vs] 'The Riddler'
POISON
w/ Prometheus

Jacob Jett and POISON are at different stages of their careers, but they both put in an excellent performance and gelled well as opponents here. Jett flew around the ring, and the veteran POISON struggled to keep up with him. Prometheus was a menace at ringside, but in the end, the man who is on an incredible run of form since returning from injury, scored one of the biggest wins of his career, as he soared from the top rope to deliver his 'Jett Take Off' finisher!

Winner:
'The Amazing' Jacob Jett

Finish:
'Jett Take Off' (Double Stomp)

There Will Be Blood

Oo1KdeV.jpg3kcaTxB.jpg

Jacob Jett's former tag team partner Thrill Seeker appeared on the big screen following the match...

Thrill Seeker:
“Bravo Jacob... Bravo... I always knew you had it in you... For two years I carried you in our tag team, and now you're on your own, my actions towards you have, lit a FIRE under you... And I can't wait to see that fire burn out... You see, you got lucky at Super Slam... But at Glory... you won't be... Because there WILL be blood... as we fight once again, in a FIRST BLOOD MATCH!!”

Peter Michaels:
“A First Blood Match...?! That's one of the most brutal matches in NOTBPW!!”

Adrian Garcia:
“Yeah there WILL be blood is right Thrill Seeker... At least one man will bleed at Glory... First man to make the other bleed, wins!!”

Tom Townsend:
“Guys, that's great and all, but I have a question... All the way back at the DeColt WrestleFestival, Thrill Seeker and Jacob Jett won a contract for a NOTBPW Tag Team Title shot... Will they be cashing that in...?! Together...?! Or separately...?! Or maybe not at all!!”

Peter Michaels:
“That's a great point Tom... Thrill Seeker will be sitting down for a frank and honest interview next week, with yours truly... So I'll ask him the situation then!!”

Who Was It?

0fRCEzS.jpg

'The Outsider' Steve DeColt marched to the ring next... He was screwed out of the Super Slam Rumble when a fan grabbed his leg and distracted him!!

Steve DeColt:
“Alright enough!! I've held my tongue for four days now... That 'FAN' that grabbed me at Super Slam, was a WRESTLER!! How do I know...?! Because I saw his wrestling boots under his jeans!! Now I wanna know... Who it was... and how they would like for me to kill them!! So this is a warning... I WILL find out who did it...”

Peter Michaels:
“Wow, mic drop moment from Steve DeColt there gentlemen!!”

Adrian Garcia:
“He's not a happy man Michaels... He'll be looking for someone now... a 'who done it' mystery begins... you gotta love it!!”

Tom Townsend:
“I'm not convinced guys... I think it was a fan...!!”

Peter Michaels:
“Oh you would! Buy gentlemen, I have to ask... Does anybody know WHY Jack DeColt eliminated his Nephew Logan DeColt from the Super Slam Rumble...?!”

Adrian Garcia:
“I'll take this one Michaels... I know those damn DeColts very well... Jack clearly wanted to eliminate STEVE DeColt himself... He wanted to do it man to man... and Logan was just in the way!!”

Peter Michaels:
“Well we'll get more answers on that next week, because we'll hear from both men...”

'Magnificent'
Gino Montero
[vs] 'The Saviour of Wrestling'
Jonathan Faust

An amazing start to his NOTBPW Canadian Championship reign here for Gino Montero. He fought a back and forth contest with the hard-hitting, and intelligent 'Saviour of Wrestling' Jonathan Faust. Gino is a flashy competitor, and he almost walked onto 'The Rod' (a running knee strike) from Faust, that has put many a NOTBPW talent away in the past few months. However, Giino managed to weather the storm that Faust threw his way, and have a little fun himself. In the end, he hit his 'Destiny Explosion' finisher, and there is no kicking out of that!

Winner:
'Magnificent' Gino Montero

Finish:
'Destiny Explosion' (Canadian Destroyer)

Peter Michaels:
“Well gentlemen... there he is... our NEW... NOTBPW Canadian Champion, with a great showing in the Main Event!!”

Adrian Garcia:
“He put a shift in there Michaels... That Jonathan Faust is no slouch...!”

Tom Townsend:
“But guys, next week... We're going to hear from Dean Waldorf... Marv Statler... and Ernest Youngman, on the FUTURE of 'The Shooters'... Apparently, rumour has it, they will have a big announcement next week...”

Peter Michaels:
“We'll look forward to that folks... For now though, be safe, and we'll see you next week!”

The only thing to report from around the world is that today the SWF FINALLY offered a contract to Sammy Bach!! The 2016 Wrestler Of The Year has been out of contract for a few weeks now, and will finally agree terms with a company he has yet to work for... Bach's 98 Star Quality will bring him level with their current top worker: Wolf Hawkins...
