Piledriver Wrestling Presents

Fatal Force 2016

Saturday, Week 4, May, 2016

Live from the Rainbow Bar & Grill, FL

Free shrimp to anyone attending!

tfOP87H.jpg

Lee Wright, veteran wrestler and owner of both the Piledriver Wrestling School and Piledriver Wrestling, comes out to open the show with a touching speech and ten bell salute...

dhXPx9Y.jpg

Rip Chord

1949 - 2016

...then all of a sudden...

lh2JDXB.jpg

*instant heel heat*

The moment is rudely interrupted by a disrespectful Sheik Ali Al-Avatar, who talks down Chord, Wright and the audience as hypocrites for not also honoring the passing of (unsurprisingly) Sheik's favorite American pro wrestler, "The Icon of Insanity" Henry Lee.

SJYcxhu.jpg

Cutting off the Sheik in return (and thus getting an instant babyface pop) is Riley McManus, who's heard enough of the Iranian's ramblings and is eager to get their scheduled match underway!

Riley McManus vs Sheik Ali Al-Avatar

Fans are hot for this match thanks to the show's opening and Sheik turns up the heat by continuing to shout profanities about the deceased Chord and trying to hit Henry Lee's signature moves. Though entertaining as an idea, Sheik lacks the skills of Lee and the attempt is a spectacular failure. However, it does give McManus an idea and after hitting his own Slingshot Suplex, the Georgia native pays tribute to the legend by finishing off the Sheik with Chord's own finisher.

Winner: Riley McManus, by pinfall

Once again, "The Monster" Annihilus hits the ring after the match and decimates an exhausted McManus. The Finnish super heavyweight continues to beat down the fallen McManus to a rain of boos from the fans, as Sheik Ali Al-Avatar looks on with a satisfied expression.

The duo of babyface redheads Olivia "Rough" Diamond and the Piledriver Womens champion, "Red Hot" Laura Flame make their entrance. Once in the ring, the champion gets on the mic and dares Selina Svelte to come out and reveal her 'mystery partner' for tonight.

EErLJ6x.jpgpogYjuy.jpg

Svelte indeed comes out and introduces her partner, straight from the Queens of American Wrestling, Millie the Minx! The two teams then have a back-and-forth verbal confrontation, before Svelte and Minx enter the ring to get the match started.

"Red Hot" Laura Flame & Olivia "Rough" Diamond vs "AAA's own" Selina Svelte & "QAW's own" Millie the Minx

The faces put up a solid performance, but it's pretty one-sided and focused on strikes, while the heels display more variety between Svelte's submission-based style and Millie's dirty brawling. As the match proceeds, it becomes apparent that Millie the Minx has the element of surprise, since the faces couldn't prepare properly to face her moveset and with a handful of tights, she capitalizes to score a shocking pinfall on the Piledriver Womens champion!

Winners: "AAA's own" Selina Svelte & "QAW's own" Millie the Minx, by pinfall with a handful of tights

M4SOg7D.jpg

gNrjpEM.jpg

"Ravinshing" Ritchie Riggins comes out and cuts a cocky promo, saying he should be the one facing Ferrera for the title, not all these challengers coming in from elsewhere and he'll prove it by winning his next match.

M4SOg7D.jpg

gNrjpEM.jpgGIRKb76.jpgejbjbKm.jpg

"Ravishing" Ritchie Riggins vs "Cowboy" Buck Winchester

Winchester has little patience for the Ravishing One's posing and flaunting, so he gets down to business with his signature southern brawling style, but Riggins packs quite a punch as well and actually out-muscles the Cowboy, bullying him around and hitting some impressive power moves on him. The brawl spills out of the ring and after a nasty spear to the barricade, Riggins unties the laces of Winchester's boots and ties him to the barricade. Quickly returning to the ring himself, he spends the full ten count posing for the crowd as Buck struggles to break free, barely missing the count of ten.

Winner: "Ravishing" Ritchie Riggins, by countout

"The Athlete" Xavi Ferrera cuts a promo to hype his upcoming main event match against Scott "The Animal" Harker.

Piledriver Championship match

"The Athlete" Xavi Ferrera © vs Scott "The Animal" Harker

Harker's mix of hard hitting strikes and legitimate toughness is a challenge indeed for the Piledriver champion and it's the first time since winning the title that it looks like he's in real risk of losing it. Match momentum swings back and forth constantly, with reversals, comebacks and false finishes galore, but Harker's recklessness eventually exposes him to a Ferrerarana, followed by a High Impact Frog Splash that seal the deal in favor of the defending champion.

Winner: "The Athlete" Xavi Ferrera, by pinfall

<p>Fatal Force had been a success, even if our handling of Rip Chord's passing had been somewhat... controversial. Lee got some time in the sun, I got some solid heel heat, Riley got the face pop, we had another good match, then Annihilus showed up to set up a match between them at Seek and Destroy. Same thing with Mille, she debuted strong and pinned Laura, leading to a singles title match between them. Xavi had another good match and Harker was kind enough to make him look like a million bucks, but now it was time to have him face a homegrown challenger in Ritchie. I looked again at the card for Seek and Destroy...</p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="46150" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong>Piledriver Wrestling Presents</strong></p><p><strong> Seek and Destroy 2016</strong></p><p> Saturday, Week 4 June, 2016</p><p> Live from the Rainbow Bar & Grill, FL</p><p> Free shrimp to anyone attending!</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Main Event</strong></p><p> <span style="text-decoration:underline;">Piledriver Championship match</span></p><p> "The Athlete" Xavi Ferrera © vs "Ravishing" Ritchie Riggins</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Co-Main Event</strong></p><p> <span style="text-decoration:underline;">Piledriver Womens title match</span></p><p> "Red Hot" Laura Flame © vs "QAW's own" Millie the Minx</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Grudge match</strong></p><p> Riley McManus vs "The Monster" Annihilus</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Opening match</strong></p><p> Austin "Easy Money" Smooth vs "The Fiend of the Microphone" Ron Greenhorn</p></div><p></p><p></p></div></blockquote>

"The Athlete" Xavi Ferrera comes out to cut a promo on his main event title match against "Ravishing" Ritchie Riggins. He is interrupted by his scheduled opponent though, who comes out to talk trash, saying Ferrera's body looks nothing like an athlete's should, before attacking the fans for gobbling down all that free shrimp. Security is forced to remove Riggins and Ferrera says they'll meet in the ring later tonight.</p><p>

<strong>Austin "Easy Money" Smooth vs "The Fiend of the Microphone" Ron Greenhorn</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p>

Widely known as being a black hole of charisma, Ron Greenhorn uses his reputation for mind games and some cheap heel heat when he brings a mic to the ring. Smooth is wise enough to attack him before the Ronster can speak, but turns out it was a trap! Greenhorn turns out to be pretty good as far as grappling goes, but vanity gets the best of him and instead of going for a pin or submission, he goes for the mic which turns out to be a dud! The entire spot gives Smooth enough time to recover and grab his opponent from behind right into the Smooth Hold for the tap out.</p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong>Winner: Austin "Easy Money" Smooth, by submission</strong></p><p>

<img alt="7nXiDsK.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/7nXiDsK.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p>

"Red Hot" Laura Flame comes out to cut a promo, saying Millie the Minx caught her by surprise last month and thus got a shot at the title, but lightning won't strike twice for the QAW challenger.</p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="7nXiDsK.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/7nXiDsK.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><p> </p><p>

Riley McManus comes out for his scheduled match against Annihilus and gets on the mic to call out the monster that's been attacking him as of late. Out comes Sheik Ali Al-Avatar, who reveals that he was the one guiding the monster all along and he will be on his corner for the match tonight!</p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="rCrbMWQ.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/rCrbMWQ.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><p> </p><p>

<strong>Riley McManus vs "The Monster" Annihilus (with Sheik Ali Al-Avatar)</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p>

McManus is faster and better than the monster, but his moves have a hard time getting under his opponent's skin. Despite some good wrestling on display, the Georgia native keeps coming up empty before Annihilus retaliates to force him on the defensive. Altering his approach, McManus baits Annihilus in, trips him over and goes for an ankle lock, but Sheiky gets on the apron and distracts the ref who never notices the tap out! Frustrated, McManus gets in the face of the Sheik but as soon as he turns around, Annihilus grabs him with the Choke Grip and holds it until McManus passes out.</p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong>Winner: "The Monster" Annihilus, by stoppage</strong></p><p>

<strong>Piledriver Womens title match</strong></p><p><strong>

"Red Hot" Laura Flame © vs "QAW's own" Millie the Minx</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p>

Although her appearance and former employment would suggest a high flyer, Millie turns out to be quite the brawler, her textbook southern rumble style an interesting contrast to the champion's martial arts based approach. The match goes back and forth with several big spots and near falls, but once the defending champ manages to connect with the Flame Fire Kick it's game set and match for her.</p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong>Winner: "Red Hot" Laura Flame, by pinfall</strong></p><p><strong>

<strong>Piledriver Championship match</strong></p><p><strong>

"The Athlete" Xavi Ferrera © vs "Ravishing" Ritchie Riggins</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p>

Dropping his usual cocky antics, Riggins tones down the posing in favor of some actual wrestling, showing a pretty serious demeanor for this main event title match. This makes for an interesting matchup against Ferrera, but it also means he quickly runs out of moves, making the bout feel a bit repetitive before Ferrera picks up the pace with a comeback. The tactic seems to be working well, as the big buff bro Riggins quickly runs out of stamina and falls victim to a surprise roll up.</p><p>

<p></p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong>[backstage, moments after the final bell of Seek and Destroy 2016]</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p> No living soul was within 10 yards of me for several minutes now. From behind the curtain, I had been watching the main event stall, then Riggins run out of gas before Ferrera rolled him up to end the show. For the first time in quite a while, I wasn't trying to act up my gimmick. I was screaming and cursing with all the vigor I had left in me.</p><p> </p><p> "STUPID BEEFCAKE! MAYBE GO TO TITAN FACTORY, LEARN HOW TO WRESTLE! AND THEY SAY ANNIHILUS CAN'T WORK! MEAN JEAN WAS WISE TO CUT FROM ROSTER!"</p><p> </p><p> I was enraged, but more at myself for putting the kid in the main event rather than Riggins himself for underperforming. I'd seen what he could do all this time, so I shouldn't be surprised, but I needed Ferrera to make a title defense against a homegrown challenger for a change. Then I felt a hand on my shoulder.</p><p> </p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="tfOP87H.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/tfOP87H.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></div><p></p><p></p><p> "That's enough. You wanna rip at the kid, wait till he gets back here. Until then, stop killing morale in my locker room."</p><p> </p><p> Wright was right. Stuff like this is why he had the respect of everyone backstage. I'd let my emotions or gimmick get in the way of other things, but he was always there to put the brakes and defuse the situation. Pretending to 'accept defeat' from the boss, I nodded. This was real, but it could also be spun into a shoot performance for the boys and girls. Let 'em know who's in charge, elevate Wright in their eyes and maybe make me the scapegoat. A madman who was fun, volatile but ultimately could be put in his place. Aren't all good heels, foreign or not, like that?</p><p> </p><p> I fist-bumped Ron on the shoulder, both as a thank you and farewell. He had come to put Smooth over and did a great job, comedy and storytelling notwithstanding. I had already congratulated the ladies for their performance once they'd gotten backstage after their match. With the main event turning into a dumpster fire, their match would be the best of the night and they deserved every bit of it. As for Riley and Annihilus... our stuff had only just begun. I salamalekum'd everyone with a pretentious bow and left the building. Lee could wrap it up for Xavi and Ritchie as far as I was concerned.</p><p> </p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong>[The morning after]</strong></p></div><p></p><p> </p><p> I was enjoying my breakfast tea, browsing through the rankings at totalextremewrestling.com when the phone rang. He knew how to deal with all the insanity by this point, but he'd usually disregard it and move on. That sound meant he wasn't happy about something. Most likely the money I had offered.</p><p> </p><p> "Yeah, about that, listen. I know asking for profits within the first two years was a bit unrealistic, but you've been burning up money like hell. I mean, the shows are great and it's your money after all, but..."</p><p> </p><p> Lee couldn't see me, but I did raise an eyebrow. Why complain about my spending if he'd said all the other stuff before?</p><p> </p><p> "You see, I've kinda grown fond of this whole thing. Getting to do proper shows again. Book actual matches instead of just trial ones. Push our own grads instead of sending them out into the indy wasteland. But with less than ten grand in the bank, I doubt we can make it through the year before we go bankrupt and I don't want this to happen."</p><p> </p><p> I wanted to scream with joy, but Lee was in a mood for confessing, so I did my best to contain myself (never an easy thing) and let him continue.</p><p> </p><p> "I scraped some money together. Fifty grand. It's not much, but it should keep us afloat. Plus now I got some real skin in the game. Consider it a repayment of the fifty grand you put in to get us off the ground, only I'm pouring it into the company instead of you personally."</p><p> </p><p> I took in a deep breath and let it out slowly as I tried to wrap my brain around everything. For the first time since meeting Lee, I didn't yell whatever I had to say. This was not the time for screaming.</p><p> </p><p> "God bless you for your gracious generosity, grand sultan of the ring. May your days be many and the virgins awaiting you in heaven even more. As you Americans say... what's the catch?"</p><p> </p><p> Lee couldn't hold back a short laugh on the other end of the line.</p><p> </p><p> "I had to reach out to some friends. No strings attached, but it would be a nice thank you if you pushed Logan a bit, if you know what I mean."</p><p> </p><p> I knew exactly what he meant. I also knew I had to make some more phonecalls for our July show, aptly named Brain Trauma.</p><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="46150" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong>Piledriver Wrestling Presents</strong></p><p><strong> Brain Trauma 2016</strong></p><p> Saturday, Week 4 July, 2016</p><p> Live from the Rainbow Bar & Grill, FL</p><p> Free shrimp to anyone attending!</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Main Event</strong></p><p> <span style="text-decoration:underline;">Piledriver Championship match</span></p><p> "The Athlete" Xavi Ferrera © vs "The Table Breaking Maniac" Andrew Harper</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Co-Main Event</strong></p><p> <span style="text-decoration:underline;">Piledriver Womens title match</span></p><p> "Red Hot" Laura Flame © vs "AAA's own" Selina Svelte</p><p> </p><p> <strong>High Stakes Grudge match</strong></p><p> <span style="text-decoration:underline;">Loser will never wrestle for Piledriver again</span></p><p> Riley McManus vs Sheik Ali Al-Avatar</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Special Tag Team match</strong></p><p> "Cowboy" Buck Winchester & "Glorious" Logan Wolfsbaine vs The Boys from the Yukon (Howlin' Mad Mort & Whitehorse Whittaker)</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Opener</strong></p><p> "Ice Cold" Claire Winters vs "The Dragon's Ninja" Ginko Kuroda</p></div><p></p><p></p></div></blockquote>

Main Event

Piledriver Championship match

"The Athlete" Xavi Ferrera © vs "The Table Breaking Maniac" Andrew Harper

Xavi is on a hot streak that continues

Co-Main Event

Piledriver Womens title match

"Red Hot" Laura Flame © vs "AAA's own" Selina Svelte

The Red Hot Laura Flmace will not be put out.

High Stakes Grudge match

Loser will never wrestle for Piledriver again

Riley McManus vs Sheik Ali Al-Avatar

So I was going to back the Sheik, but Riley just lost to Annihilus and to continue the feud he needs to do something meaningful. Which makes me think he wins the match. Meaning Sheik is able to be a fulltime manager.

Special Tag Team match

"Cowboy" Buck Winchester & "Glorious" Logan Wolfsbaine vs The Boys from the Yukon (Howlin' Mad Mort & Whitehorse Whittaker)

Opener

"Ice Cold" Claire Winters vs "The Dragon's Ninja" Ginko Kuroda

I'll admit I stole the idea from an old TEW13 or 10 diary, can't recall who wrote it through. They had employed a young Jungle Jack Marlowe and portrayed them as a weird nutcase that may have been overly devoted to the gimmick 24/7 or legitimately crazy. I figured the Sheik built his reputation in similar fashion, but at least thanks to his inner monologue here he gets to make some sense too.</p>

Riley McManus is backstage with Lee Wright. He says he's beaten Sheik Ali Al-Avatar again and again and asks to be given a chance to wrestle Annihilus instead in a singles match. Wright rejects the request, causing McManus to storm off.</p><p>

Grandiose music signals the arrival of none other than "Playboy" Jake Sawyer! The charismatic TCW alumni announces he's decided to stop employing "enforcers" and focus on female athletes instead. <strong>"The Dragon's Ninja" Ginko Kuroda vs "Ice Cold" Claire Winters (with "Playboy" Jake Sawyer)</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p>

Despite her ninja gimmick, Kuroda has neither martial arts strikes nor flashy aerial moves in her arsenal, but instead brings some slick chain wrestling skills in an attempt to submit her opponent. Winters seems a bit thrown off at first, but with the help of Sawyer at ringside, she quickly figures out her opponent and manages to lay her out for the pin with a Flying Knee Strike.</p><p>

"Cowboy" Buck Winchester & "Glorious" Logan Wolfsbaine vs The Boys from the Yukon (Howlin' Mad Mort & Whitehorse Whittaker)</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p>

The lumberjack duo's fame from wrestling for NYCW seems to have spilled over to this area of Florida, meaning they get a pretty solid reaction upon making their entrance. Their opponents seem a bit disfunctional in comparison, from the outfit to the attitude, but once the bell rings, they both know how to bring a fight. After the opening exchange of blows, the Boys from the Yukon show their mastery of tag team wrestling when they cut the ring in half to isolate Cowboy Buck on their corner. Through a combination of quick tags, hard strikes and moves such as corner avalanches that make good use of their size, the lumberjacks wear down Buck. Crowd musters behind the hometown team thanks to Wolfsbaine's clapping on the apron and Winchester indeed gets enough clarity to roll out of the way of an incoming shoulder tackle. He then rolls to his corner for the hot tag to Wolfsbaine, who comes in full of that inner fire, knocking Howlin' Mad Mort off the apron and focusing his attack on the lower back of the groggy Whitehorse Whittaker, setting up his Boston Crab finisher for the tap out win.</p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong>Winners: "Cowboy" Buck Winchester & "Glorious" Logan Wolfsbaine, by submission</strong></p><p><strong>

</strong><img alt="M4SOg7D.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/M4SOg7D.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong>

Loser will never wrestle for Piledriver again</strong></p><p><strong>

Riley McManus vs Sheik Ali Al-Avatar</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p>

The stipulation means the Sheik throws caution to the wind and surprises the clean cut McManus with his recklessness. Time and again, the Georgia native puts the brakes to ground the Sheik on the mat, only to have his plan foiled by the Iranian's nasty tricks or suicidal reversals. One of them backfiring though is enough to turn things around and once the Sheik accidentally falls face first onto a corner ring he exposed himself earlier, McManus has all the time to lift him up, bounce the legs off the ropes and hit the Slingshot Suplex for the one-two-three.</p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong>Winner: Riley McManus, by pinfall</strong></p><p>

<img alt="ozLd3Bm.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/ozLd3Bm.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p>

After the final bell, "The Monster" Annihilus comes out but by now, McManus knows better than to be caught unprepared. Riding an emotional high from retiring the Sheik, McManus dares Annihilus to come get some. The Finnish Super Heavyweight slowly climbs onto the apron, but before he can get in, he is placated by the Sheik, who seems to have some sort of power over him. Promising McManus he will feel the wrath of "The Monster" soon with him as his full time manager, Ali Al-Avatar retreats backstage with Annihilus while McManus watches over, showered by cheers from the fans.</p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="87E3trK.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/87E3trK.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><p> </p><p>

"Red Hot" Laura Flame comes out and cuts a promo on her scheduled challenger tonight, but instead of Selina Svelte, out comes the legendary Gorgon! It is announced that Svelte was attacked by an "unknown assailant" earlier tonight and has been taken to the hospital, so Gorgon will be taking her place in tonight's match.</p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="ozLd3Bm.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/ozLd3Bm.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><p> </p><p>

<strong>Piledriver Womens title match</strong></p><p><strong>

"Red Hot" Laura Flame © vs Gorgon</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p>

Gorgon's power is undeniable and from the way the match starts, it looks like it's going to be a short squash but Flame somehow musters enough mental resilience to fight back against the veteran! Between Flame's martial arts influenced strikes and Gorgon's long tenure in Japan, the match evolves into something that fans would expect to see in a joshi promotion like 5SSW.</p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="EErLJ6x.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/EErLJ6x.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></div><p></p><p></p><p>

As the match action and drama escalates, Selina Svelte makes an appearance, banged up and bandaged. Making her way to ringside as best as she can, she observes the match and then sweeps low with her crutch to hit Gorgon in the ankle without even trying to hide it.</p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong>Winner: "Red Hot" Laura Flame, by disqualification</strong></p><p><strong>

Piledriver Championship match</strong></p><p><strong>

"The Athlete" Xavi Ferrera © vs "The Table Breaking Maniac" Andrew Harper</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p>

From his frantic entrance to his animalistic brawling style, Harper shows fans how he earned his nickname, mauling Ferrera about but using every extended break he gets in order to set up a table instead of going for the pin. After the initial excitement, the match bogs down a bit as Harper's antics start to feel pretty disruptive of the match flow and action, but Ferrera makes sure to pick up the pace with some flashy offensive maneuvers for his comeback leading to the big finish of him reversing a second rope powerbomb into the Ferrerarana, a move that doesn't send Harper through a table but is still good enough to keep him down for the count.</p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong>Winner: "The Athlete" Xavi Ferrera, by roll up</strong></p><p><strong>

"The Athlete" Xavi Ferrera makes defense number 4 of the Piledriver Championship</strong></p><p>

Before Ferrera can recover to celebrate his victory, Cip Conduit storms to the ring with a much sharper look about him. Ferrera sees him coming, but is too spent from battle to offer any significant resistant and Conduit gets the best of him. A recovered Harper joins in for the 2 on 1 beatdown and with the help of Conduit, eventually manages to powerbomb Ferrera through a table before the two of them retreat under a shower of boos.</p><p>

Headstrong 2016

Live from the Rainbow Bar & Grill, FL

Lee Wright opens up the show with the revelation of his newest big signing for Piledriver Wrestling, Rockin' Ryan Turner! The Canadian then takes the mic to cut a promo about "having gone solo" (a shout-out to his long time tag team partner in MAW, Stan "The Man" Manna) and calls out his scheduled opponent for their opening match.

Austin "Easy Money" Smooth vs Rockin' Ryan Turner

Smooth takes this match seriously and attempts to slap on a few holds, but the veteran Turner shoves him aside with ease, before hitting him with a few moves to get the fans going. This does however make Turner cocky and Smooth does make a comeback, but it never amounts to anything as Turner soon reverses and after a sequence of moves, hits the Six String Shooter.

Winner: Rockin' Ryan Turner, by pinfall

"Cowboy" Buck Winchester vs "The Monster" Annihilus (with Sheik Ali Al-Avatar)

Well aware of what he's up against, Winchester wrestles smart and avoids going headlong into the beast with strikes. Thanks to the ear-piercing coaching from the Sheik at ringside though (as well as a sneaky handful of sand thrown into the cowboy's eyes) Annihilus is able to apply the Choke Grip and put his opponent out.

Winner: "The Monster" Annihilus, by stoppage

Once the match is over, Sheik Ali Al-Avatar gets in the ring with a mic to taunt Riley McManus and hype the upcoming clash between him and Annihilus. All of a sudden, the music of Riley McManus plays and the man himself comes out to respond to the insults! With the Sheik out-smarting him as far as words go though, McManus takes to the ring and for a moment, it looks like he and Annihilus will go at it, right there and then! The Sheik robs fans of their excitement though as he leads Annihilus to retreat, mocking the audience on their way backstage while McManus remains inside the ring for his match that's up next.

No countout, No DQ match

"Ravishing" Ritchie Riggins vs Riley McManus

A stipulation meant to rob Riggins of his usual messy ways of finishing matches, this actually forces him to do some actual wrestling. He is, of course, no match for McManus once it comes down to straightforward grappling, so his game plan quickly shifts to making full use of the stipulation and cheat in broad daylight. After backstabbing McManus with a steel chair, Riggins finally takes control against his obviously hurting opponent, but somehow McManus still manages to dig deep inside and muster some courage for a surprise roll up that brings him victory.

Winner: Riley McManus, by pinfall with a roll up

Backstage, before the big triple threat match for the Womens title, "Playboy" Jake Sawyers with "Ice Cold" Claire Winters in tow runs into Olivia "Rough" Diamond. Hyping up himself and pointing to how Winters has been 'revitalized' since hiring him, Sawyer offers his services to Diamond as well, but she doesn't seem to be interested. At least, as Sawyer puts it before the fade out, for now...

Piledriver Womens title Triple Threat match

"Red Hot" Laura Flame © vs Gorgon vs "AAA's own" Selina Svelte

A match set up a month prior when Gorgon stole Svelte's title shot only to lose it due to interference from Selina, this triple threat provides all three women involved with an opportunity to sort out their differences once and for all. Gorgon dominates most of the match, using her size to bully her opponents around. Her power moves and 5SSW-forged resilience are more than a match for the young champion, while Svelte's technical prowess is met with a wide knowledge of holds and counterholds perfected in both Japan and AAA. All the two younglings can do is endure and break up Gorgon's pin attempts, frustrating the veteran until Flame explodes into a Flame Fire Kick out of nowhere. Gorgon looks staggered for the first time and Flame presses her advantage by hitting her finisher a second time. The force sends Gorgon into a corner and after hitting the Flame Fire Kick for a third time, Flame finally manages to hold down the fallen veteran for the count!

Winner: "Red Hot" Laura Flame, by pinfall

“Red Hot” Laura Flame makes defence number 4 of the Piledriver Women's Championship.

The match over, Gorgon gets up and raises the hand of the young champion. It is then announced that this was her final match, as she will be retiring from active competition. Despite being a heel for most of her career, the announcement sends fans into an emotional frenzy, sending her off with a standing ovation and chants of "thank you Gorgon"

Piledriver Championship match

"The Athlete" Xavi Ferrera © vs Cip Conduit

As the announcing duo of Martin Theocott and Miles Wakefield remind us, the rivalry between Ferrera and Conduit is older than the latter's actions last month; it was Conduit who Ferrera beat at Damage Inc in February to become champion, so this essentially is the rematch between them. No longer strangers to each other, the two men go at it from the opening bell and the match is off to a fast, exciting pace. Conduit brings his explosive scrappy brawling game hard, but is unable to choose the battlefield as Ferrera resists attempts to leave the ring. With every minute, Conduit looks more and more obsessed with turning the match into a hardcore ringside brawl and in the end, this lack of focus ends up costing him the match.

Winner: "The Athlete" Xavi Ferrera, by pinfall

Headstrong had been another good show. Turner made a splash upon arrival, Gorgon left with a bang by putting Flame over (even if she was furious with having to do it) and I finally planted the first seeds for what would hopefully evolve into a proper storyline for our female competitors. Had Riggins not injured Riley with that sloppy chair shot, especially now that his feud with me and Annihilus was picking up steam, it would have been perfect. It certainly was our most successful show to date in every other aspect, from attendance to income and fanzine ratings.

If Riggins and Ferrera hadn't become BFF's a while back, I would have fired the man on the spot to set an example, but I needed Xavi focused for his match at Deadly Game. This only left one option to cut the kid loose without ruffling any feathers. Who'd have ever thought that a cowboy would one day be a Sheik's best hitman.

Rockin' Ryan Turner kicks the show off with cover of Thin Lizzy's "The boys are back in town" which of course he changes the lyrics to, as well as the chorus line to singular. After the song, he cuts a cocky promo on "The Athlete" Xavi Ferrera, promising to beat him for the Piledriver title tonight.</p><p>

<strong>"The Terminator" Buzz Reid vs "Glorious" Logan Wolfsbaine</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p>

Once Reid's entrance is through and he's pulled off his essential Terminator-esque spots, the match gets a bit sluggish. His fading stamina isn't helping either, so Wolfsbaine quickly makes his comeback and takes it home with a Belly to Belly Suplex.</p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong>Winner: Logan Wolfsbaine, by pinfall</strong></p><p>

"The Athlete" Xavi Ferrera is shown backstage with the Piledriver title around his waist. The champion cuts a promo in response to Turner's opening words, saying he too will join the ranks of those defeated by "The Athlete".</p><p>

Olivia "Rough" Diamond vs "No gimmick needed" Tamara McFly (with "Playboy" Jake Sawyer)</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p>

Sawyer's new client is revealed to be none other than Tamara McFly, who gets a loud response from all 68 paying members of the audience. Sawyer's acting up to hype his wrestler and McFly proves him right, making short work of her opponent despite moments of heroic resistance to win with her signature McFly Roll.</p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong>Winner: Tamara McFly, by pinfall</strong></p><p><strong>

After the match, "Playboy" Jake Sawyer gets on the mic and once again hypes up Tamara McFly, warning "Red Hot" Laura Flame that she's coming for the Piledriver Womens title.</p><p>

"Cowboy" Buck Winchester vs "Ravishing" Ritchie Riggins</strong></p><p><strong>

Loser Leaves Piledriver Wrestling</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p>

A terrible performance from Ritchie Riggins, who seems to be completely elsewhere in his head and not focused given the gravity of the match stipulation, allowing Winchester to catch him with a Neckbreaker by the 8th minute for the pin and another notch on his belt.</p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong>Winner: "Cowboy" Buck Winchester</strong></p><p><strong>

</strong><img alt="M4SOg7D.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/M4SOg7D.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong>

Riley McManus comes out to cut a promo, letting fans know he'll be out of action for a few months due to a minor injury (leading to a few boos aimed at the now-gone Riggins, who was the obvious culprit after those chair shots last month). His speech is interrupted by Sheik Ali Al-Avatar, with "The Monster" Annihilus right behind him. McManus looks willing to fight back despite his condition, but for some reason, the Sheik seems content to just taunt him, saying he wants him at his best so Annihilus can break him for good.</p><p>

Piledriver Championship match</strong></p><p><strong>

"The Athlete" Xavi Ferrera © vs Rockin' Ryan Turner</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p>

Turner seems to be underestimating his rookie opponent and Ferrera makes full use of it to start the match in control. After a few moves and a near fall, Turner gets serious and slowly but surely, reverses the flow of the match to dish out some punishment himself. Things shift back and forth until the champion tries to hit the Ferrerana. Turner holds on and rolls with the momentum, leading into a pinning predicament with Ferrera on top. Before the ref can drop on the mat (and get close to the two tangled-up competitors) Turner pulls out a guitar pick from between his wrist tape and pokes Ferrera's eye, which allows him to reverse the roll up and hold the Puerto Rican star down for the three count.</p><p>
