Even if the plan was for Nyla to land between Britt's legs, that's still going to be dangerous and painful for poor Britt. Maybe it went well during rehearsal? *shrugs*

It's a shame AEW can't get Finlay to be the road agent for the women as he helped the WWE women a lot over the years. That Nyla/Baker spot probably would have been scrapped or done differently some how.

Does anyone know who the agent is for AEW's women division?

I don't know what the hell anybody was supposed to do here. Nya is blind the whole way, she's not at fault. No idea how this was supposed to end other than a fat girl on the knee of Britt or Nya landing neck first in the corner. The dumbest spot I've seen since the Bucklebomb. And in a complete throwaway match. Also a lot of people were saying ACL but the way her knee is posted and goes straight probably means she likely tore multiple ligaments here, ACLs people don't feel much pain on. Your leg feels unstable, but you can talk yourself into trusting it for a while.(Klay Thompson in the Finals last year, came out to take the FTs and walked off under his own power.)

The way she immediately grabs it, the fact it's clearly tender on the cover, and how she won't even attempt to put any weight on it tells me this is much worse than just an ACL. The timetable on compound tears is in the 12-24mo range. And even with the best medical care and James Andrews there's no guarantee she comes back at all. And that would jive with the LONG time Dave talked about. What a gutting blow to the only girl showing any improvement or sign that she could be a useful asset.

On other forums I see people blaming the wrestlers for not catching Fenix but he went straight and down and didn't aim for the pack so that's on him, IMO. Apparently he escaped injury.

For Britt the early rumor is ACL or MCL which is 9-12 months I think. It was a stupid spot but I'm assuming they had time to rehearse with it being a live show. Britt isn't experienced enough to be taking stuff like that. She had her knees up which was a bad idea. Kris and Shida threw Nyla a little off-center, which is the safest way to do it to avoid the seated wrestler taking the full weight, but they weren't accurate enough and she landed on Britt's raised knee instead and her boot hit Britt's head.

This is how she should have been positioned which might have minimized the damage:

The safest way to take it is to get your legs under the ropes. Either you're flexible enough to do it legs-open, or you put both under one rope. That's how I used to take things like that.

The spot wasn't any more dangerous than a lot of the junk wrestlers do nowadays. This was an accident, but a preventable one. Every dive in the ladder angle was stupid. So many needless headspikes in the main event.

A drab episode of Dynamite that has turned me off buying the PPV. Zero interest in Moxley vs Brodie Gentle Eyes and his cheap suit. I'm rooting for the women on TV, but not paying for it. MJF vs Jungle Boy should be good, but again, nothing to pay for.

Bronco Buster spots are one thing, but this wasn't that spot. Nya is coming in headfirst and Brit's gotta post to make sure she can keep Nya from dying. Just a horrifically stupid spot that hopefully is never done again. I said this about the first bucklebomb though(that essentially ended Devitt's WWE career) and it's since gone on to almost paralyzing Sting.

Double or Nothing was a very entertaining show. I feel like Archer/Cody and Nyla/Shida were both too long though. TNT title looks rather lame and plain. Tyson looked great.

Stadium Stampede was some of the most fun I've had with wrestling in awhile.

- Best Friends-Private Party was a fun way to kick things off, glad to see Chuck and Trent getting some shine plus Marq and Isiah back in action

- Brian Cage being the surprise entrant and then winning the title shot isn’t great, but it does make sense... gives Moxley another contender to feud with quickly so they don’t have to burn one that they’ll want to save for when fans can come back

- My man Orange was hilarious with some of his work, and there were a few decent spots... but the ladder match didn’t do much for me as a whole

- MJF-Jungle Boy felt like the one that went on too long for me, but I liked the back and forth they had throughout

- Enjoyed Cody-Archer, Tyson’s involvement was fun, and Cody doesn’t have to just keep losing every single feud he’s in

- I kinda like the TNT belt, will save final judgment for the finished product

- Statlander-Ford was OK, kinda in a losing situation in there with Britt getting injured

- Dustin-Spears didn’t click for me as a throwaway match but this week at least got me interested in something Spears was doing for maybe the first time ever

- SHIDAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA... loved the physicality of that match, love that she’s got the belt now

- Mox-Brodie would’ve been a lot better with fans, thought it fell kinda flat, and as much as I like him, these Mox main events are starting to all feel the same

- Stadium Stampede was an instant classic, one I’ll definitely rewatch very soon... so many great moments, it was fun to sit back and just have fun with a ridiculous match like that

- I freaking SCREAMED at the One-Winged Angel off the tunnel, what an insane spot, Sammy is a legend for the stuff he’s done recently

Strong PPV for one that didn’t have a crowd and didn’t have a five-star match contender in the traditional sense like Revolution, All Out or last year’s DoN

Buy in match was blown spot after blown spot, that and the 3 minutes of Spears-Dustin were the only misses for me.

MJF and Jungle Boy shocked me with how good it was and what it was. I guess I saw MJF as more of a character heel but that was straightforward competitive wrestling with several good false finishes. Tons of complexity and the whole match was smooth.

I get that Cody needed a PPV win but I felt like they could have kept Archer stronger, I have to think he or PAC would be Mox’s next extended program. Happy Shida won the title but that was the match where it got past JR’s bedtime and he started getting grumpy and foggy. Mox and Brodie was a good physical brawl, exceeded my expectations but with Brodie not really being a plausible title winner I approve of Stadium Stampede going last.

Echo the sentiments on Stadium Stampede being a really fun match filled with memorable spots. Jericho challenging the 2 count and the finish were highlights for me.

Great show! Surprised by how many faces came out on top.

-MJF/Jungleboy was my motn as well.

-Cody/Archer would have greatly benefited by shaving off 5+ minutes. Shame on their production for not getting a closeup shot of Tyson and Cody with their arms raised...that's an image you'd want in the Dynamite open for the next few years.

-That Stadium Stampede match was so fun! Page and the horse, the Matt Hardy facts, the northern-light suplexes, the challenge flag, running Page across the bar, KOing the mascot...all great stuff.

\TNT title looks rather lame and plain.

I think they noted the belt is temporary/unfinished. Didn't see the PPV. Never been able to justify that in my family budget over the years. But I did hear about the Brian Cage signing and being the mystery entrant. Gotta say I'm not impressed with that move. In the rare occasions I've gotten to see Cage, mostly in Impact, he struck me as just another guy. But maybe new scenery will freshen him up Kazarian or Omega style.

When Kazarian was in TNA, I couldn't stand the guy. He felt horribly overhyped. And even worse than that, it felt totally illogical and inexplicable. The guy didn't have nearly the personality skills to make an apparent fit and yet people wouldn't shut up about him. Made me want to ignore the fact the man even existed. Then he and Chris left to join Ring of Honor and the moment he got there the fit was obvious. His personality work felt looser and freer than it ever did in TNA. He was more in his element and it showed. Loved the guy ever since.

As for Kenny Omega, I used to dread his appearances in RoH. Bullet Club was in full swing and because it was primarily a New Japan thing, I couldn't properly relate. There was no sensible way for me to follow New Japan. And why should I care about New Japan when I was watching Ring of Honor for their homegrown talent? So whenever Omega showed up, it was to be an interloper in my eyes. Little to any of what he'd be involved in was any of my business as far as I was concerned. He was just something to be endured and fast forwarded past. Then AEW started up. He was finally going to be somewhere where what he did was my business. He was finally going to be something other than a distraction. And now I like the guy and enjoy his work. Do I always understand the stuff in his entrance videos or all the obscure allusions he makes? No. But even that I can relate to. Quite a few of my passions over the years have confounded friends and family in much the same way Kenny's obscurica can. I get him now because I'm more willing to try than I used to be when he was repping Bullet Club.

Maybe Brian Cage is about to be the next in that line. Maybe AEW Creative can find ways to make him look and sound less ordinary. We will have to see. All I know right now is he's not the kind of name I was hoping to hear last night.

- Private Party vs Best Friends was solid but botchy. PP should keep it simple until their execution is smoother. Right result. Trent lost his bandana :o Nice homage to Crime Tyme. *** 1/4

- PPV Intro was hype. They nailed the themed graphics as usual. Appreciated the tributes to Shad and Hana.

- Casino Ladder match was good but a bit sloppy. The pre-match promos were a nice touch. Darby and Janela were madman. OC was hilarious. Brian Cage debuting with Taz was cool. I love how they tried to bury him with props. Cage winning was the best way to make him a big deal. Darby will probably interfere in his title match. *** 3/4

- MJF vs Jungle Boy was one of those matches far exceeds expectations. I enjoyed the oneupsmanship. It works because MJF thinks he's better than everyone. Both guys are very polished for their experience level and their selling was top class. **** 3/4

- Archer vs Cody was great. Cody took so many bumps. I actually thought Archer might win but Cody makes more sense with his character arc. I don't mind the TNT Title colors but the lack of detail on the faceplate makes it look a bit cheap. Hopefully when it's complete it looks better. **** 1/2

- Ford vs Statlander was good for a makeshift match. I'd like to see Ford take Anna Jay under her wing and feud with Swole. Nice continuity with Sabian being banged up. Keeping it kayfabe with Dr. Britt. *** 3/4

- Spears vs Dustin was fun. Much more entertaining than a straight-up match would have been. The Tully underwear LOL. ***

- Shida vs Nyla © was almost my MOTN. I was wrong about the result but I'm very happy for Shida. Love the Tifa gear. Not sure why they need to subtitle her. **** 3/4

- Lee vs Mox © was a great match. The New Japan style layout and sub-20 minute length helped. Lee's new ring gear is an improvement. **** 1/2

- Stadium Stampede was MOTN. Props to everyone involved for making it so watchable. I can't imagine how hard it was to film and edit. The pyro entrances with IC wearing football jerseys was great. Hangman found a new horse. The Matt Hardy bits on the upper deck were funny. Loved the bar fight and everything in the last 10 minutes. I'm starting to feel sorry for Sammy LOL. Neo 1 debut. Super One Winged Angel FTW! *****

Fantastic PPV under the circumstances. Big Swole was the MVP in the crowd.

https://www.f4wonline.com/aew-news/aew-double-or-nothing-notes-fyter-fest-injury-updates-brian-cage-311756

AEW president and head booker Tony Khan did a short scrum after Saturday's Double or Nothing pay-per-view, giving some insights into the health of both Britt Baker and Fenix in addition to news on Fyter Fest.

Khan said more details on AEW Fyter Fest will be announced on this Wednesday's episode of Dynamite but Jon Moxley will defend the AEW World title against Brian Cage, winner of the Casino ladder match.

Fyter Fest was originally supposed to be the company's debut in London, England, but the pandemic prevented it.

He said several people contributed ideas to the Stadium Stampede match including himself, Chris Jericho, the Young Bucks, and others.

He said Britt Baker's injuries to her right knee will keep her out anywhere from six weeks to two months. She will be on Dynamite Wednesday to address them.

Fenix was limping and the company made the decision to pull him from the ladder match. There was no timetable given for his return, but Khan made it sound like it wouldn't be too long before he returns.

Brian Cage did sign in January and was indeed injured when he signed. Khan believed in him and wanted to present him with Taz the whole time.

New TNT Champion Cody Rhodes and Moxley were also on the call. Some highlights:

Cody said that Lance Archer is one of the top three people he's ever been in the ring with. Khan and QT Marshall were the main drivers of bringing him in and he was initially questioning that move, but not any more.

He got into talking about different approaches and how the Young Bucks have a Deadpool inspired version, Omega has a DDT inspired version and he has a Crockett inspired version. They don't always agree, but have those different styles they bring to the table as VPs.

Cody loves the design of the TNT belt, especially how the Turner mansion is on the belt. There apparently is a silver plated version that is being delayed due to the pandemic, but he likes the current belt so much, he might just stick with the one he has.

Moxley wants to work with everyone on the roster so he can adapt his styles to work with people like Cody, MJF, Joey Janela, Darby Allin, etc.

If it's just 6 weeks to 2 months then it's just a meniscus tear or a grade one sprain of the ACL. I'm betting on the former considering the pain she was in. Might need a scope but she'll be back in 8 weeks. Huge bullet dodged. Cuz the way she reacted and the impact location it could have been much worse.

 • Casino Ladder Match - Some good spots but slow and nonsensical. I don't rate Joey Janella at all but he was the only one showing any passion and drive to win. Kazarian was a botch machine. Darby was dumb. **
 • MJF vs Jungle Boy - Great match. Jungle Boy needs a couple more facial expressions, but wonderful. My MOTN ****
 • Cody vs Lance Archer - Enjoyable. Flat finish. Bored of the repeated Cross Rhodes at seeing 3 to Sabian/Janella etc. ***
 • Penelope Ford vs Kris Statlander - Solid. Penelope is green as hell and looks lost between the moves, but this was my favorite Statlander performance since her original run. **
 • Shawn Spears vs Dustin Rhodes - Short but fun. I like goofy Shawn Spears. ***
 • Hikaru Shida vs Nyla Rose - I can't get over how weak Shida's knee strikes look. Also her kendo stick shots. It was well constructed and mostly well executed, so I'll give a generous ***
 • Brodie Lee vs Jon Moxley - Brodie has gentle eyes and a man bun, so I can't take him too seriously. Good brawl. Good finish. Dumb gimmicked stage. ***
 • Stadium Stampede - A fun comedy match. I liked the bar scene. I kind of wish magic wasn't real in AEW, which is surprising. I thought I'd like that kind of thing. ****

- Private Party vs Best Friends was solid but botchy. PP should keep it simple until their execution is smoother. Right result. Trent lost his bandana :o Nice homage to Crime Tyme. *** 1/4

What was his hairline like? The wife and I have been assuming for weeks he glues that thing on because he's balding, Nick Jackson style.

Fantastic PPV under the circumstances. Big Swole was the MVP in the crowd.

I would have fired Big Swole on the spot. (EDIT: Hyperbole... but I wouldn't put her in any crowds ever again)

Three times she got in the heel's faces and dared them to hit her, when she knew they couldn't, so they had to back down and look like chumps. It's not so bad doing it to Nyla, because there could be a program there. But Archer? You're punking out Cody's big monster? When you're in the crowd and you're on the payroll it's your job to enhance the match. She instead tried to get herself over at the expense of the action in the ring. To be fair, that's what real modern fans seem to do, but it actively makes your team mates look worse.

He has a pretty deep widows peak going on under that headband, definitely looks much better with the headband on...
