Late Night Dynamite was real good, I wonder if it was a dry run for producing a 1 hour TV show in the future since I have heard TNT are interested.

 

Wednesday Night Dynamite was a bit rough this week I thought:

 

- Miro & Sabian vs. Janela & Kiss was bad. Miro did his ankle in and dumped Sabian on his head and then it just seemed to fall apart after that. Not an impressive showing from anybody involved. Miro just played the hits here. If that was the plan this should have been a three-minute squash against Shawn Dean or somebody.

 

- Page vs. Uno was longer than it should have been. No disrespect to Uno, he's a fine wrestler and his team with Grayson is great, but he's not on Page's level at all and I thought he hung around too long.

 

- Yeah, don't think doing Brodie vs. Cassidy here was a good idea at all. Where do you go with OC now? The match should have been saved for later since I assume Brodie is going over Cody at Full Gear. They should have done Scorpio Sky vs. Brodie Lee here since Sky stood up for Cody against The Dark Order all those weeks ago and that would have tied in neatly with the post-match.

 

- Women's tag match was an absolute mess. Botch Central. Ivelisse got tagged in and didn't seem to know what to do, hesitating before entering the ring. Then she whiffed a kick and tried to get out the ring despite being legal, so Diamante tried pinning Shida despite not being the legal woman having just tagged out like 15 seconds previously. Later in the match, Ivelisse got to the corner to make the tag so Diamante could come in and feed for Thunder Rosa who had just come in off the hot tag, but Diamante wasn't in the right position, she got the timings wrong so they had to slow down and wait for her to get up on the apron to receive the tag so she could feed. Not good.

 

- I liked Kingston vs. Moxley, even though the live crowd didn't seem into it. However, there wasn't a single moment where I thought Eddie might win. With the benefit of hindsight, I don't think making it a title match was a good idea as it makes a mockery of the rankings system (again) and now they can't go anywhere with Eddie's umbrage at having lost the Casino Battle Royale without being eliminated. It felt like they were doing a program with that and now they cannot since he's lost his shot. I think the natural direction is Moxley vs. Ricky Starks for Full Gear, since I'd imagine Mox is beating Lance and Ricky is beating Darby.

Butcher vs Mox was quite good. Better than I expected anyway.</p>

- SCU vs FTR © was my MOTN. I enjoyed all the heelish tactics from FTR. Looks like the tournament will setup Kenny vs Page for Full Gear.</p><p>

- Kassidy vs Jericho was good. Miro & Kip's Crazy Pandemic Adventures!</p><p>

- Cassidy vs #10 was solid. New finisher looked sick. I wonder where this MJF/Jericho thing is headed.</p><p>

- Dr. Britt was Red Velvet was solid. Velvet sould be signed.</p><p>

- Kingston is awesome on the mic. Butcher vs Mox was good.</p><p> </p><p>

<p>I’m starting to honestly believe that Kingston doesn’t know the Lucha Bro’s names. He always stumbles a little and then calls them brother and best friend.</p><p> </p><p>

I think the MJF/Inner Circle skits are leading to a Sammy face turn to feud with a stealing his spot MJF? Just a guess based on the non receivement of a jacket.</p><p> </p><p>

8-man tourney for a title shot, should be awesome just based on Jungle, Felix, and Omega being announced. Hope they pull the trigger on a Cleaner title run.</p><p> </p><p>

Maybe I’m just not much of a fan of them, but I wouldn’t be sad if FTR jobbed the titles to Best Friends at Full Gear. It seems like 80% of the division is heel now except them and low card jobbers, they weren’t on this week but I’ve seen enough of Kiss and Janela.</p><p> </p><p>

I think Red Velvet got the best match out of Britt I’ve ever seen. Kudos to her for recovering a nasty looking injury.</p>

I can't believe they turned FTR and the Young Bucks at the same time as teasing 'darker' Cody and Kenny Omega runs. It's like they only have 2-3 ideas at a time, and need to copy/paste them through the whole roster just to fill 2 hours.

Unless they want to run Kenny vs Page at Full Gear, I could see the Bucks costing Page a spot in the Final and Kenny pretending he had no hand in it.</p>

Like, the guy can do a very lazy or sloppy spot and the announcers just put over how nuts/crazy he is, as if he had any business (i.e.) running the ring ropes before jumping outside.. He <em>clearly</em> works hard, and has the ability to, but why is not trying seen as cool to him?</p>

<p>Dynamite was a pretty strong show this week.</p><p> </p><p>

- Expected Ricky Starks to win against Darby Allin, but I'm guessing they want to do a singles match between Allin and Cage so it makes sense to have Darby win here.</p><p> </p><p>

- Scorpio Sky and Frankie Kazarian are so good as a tag team. In fact, they're both just really good. If Sky gets a proper singles run I hope they don't leave Kaz out in the cold as I feel he's seriously underrated.</p><p> </p><p>

- The Young Bucks pretending to be rebellious when everybody knows they are Executive Vice Presidents. Don't think it's a gimmick that suits them. Why have they pretended two weeks running that Nick Jackson is there but just off-camera?</p><p> </p><p>

- I feel like the Inner Circle as it is now has run its course. Hopefully, putting MJF with them in some capacity reinvigorates the group. MJF vs. Sammy G would be nice, hopefully it leads to Matt Hardy being right about the Inner Circle not caring about Sammy.</p><p> </p><p>

- Having a hard time imagining who Mox goes against at Full Gear if he beats Archer in two weeks, but I did notice that it was Fenix that was announced for the 8-man tournament and not Penta.</p>

One of the only times AEW has made me completely unsure of what the next world title feud is. They're reaaaaally delaying the inevitable Kenny/Mox title match, along with the Kenny/Hangman match, which is good of course! I'm assuming they want more fans for such big matches. It looks like they're also delaying the FTR/Bucks match as long as possible, although that'll probably be at Full Gear.</p><p> </p><p> Mox's opponent won't be Jericho because he lost to Cassidy at the last PPV and AEW is smart enough not to reward that. Not Cage, not Archer, not Darby, not Cody, not Brodie, not Hangman, not Eddie. Maybe Miro? I'd hate that though. I like Penta but is he worthy of a PPV main event yet?</p>

Nice clash of styles. Aldis has no chance of winning and that would be painfully obvious to any viewer. So that might take away from the match, but they're both good workers and could probably suck people into their performance nonetheless.</p><p> </p><p> I was hoping Zicky Dice and Elijah Burke(Pope, D'angelo Dinero) would follow Ricky Starks to AEW, but they were announced for the next NWA/UWN ppv on Tuesday.</p>

- Jericho knows a lot of people.

- Hobbs vs Cage © was great. Hobbs is making the most of his push.

- Tanahashi speaking english on AEW and Archer mentioning New Japan...

- Hybrid 2 vs FTR © was great except for the one botch. LOL at Matt watching the TV over his shoulder.

- Cody v Lee © was MOTN. Wasn't expecting the title change. Rubber match at Full Gear?

- So many potentially awesome match-ups in the tournament.

- Deeb vs Swole was good. Love Mox's promo.

- Chaos Project vs Jericho & Hager was solid. The ending was kind of funny.

It was good, but what was the point? It's been one of the criticisms of AEW's women's divisions that while the matches are good, there's no interesting stories. This was just a match for a match's sake, and it could have easily been on Dark. Your women's champion Shida, who Cody said could be an "Ace" hasn't even been on Dynamite the past 2 weeks. It's very frustrating, as AEW has some very solid talent in their women's division, but AEW isn't really doing anything to make me care about them.

The whole match for match's sake would be fine in your first month - though really creative should already have something in mind even if the fans are wondering what is going to happen going forward.

Kenny is such a bad promo.

 

Man, I know Luther is friends with Jericho, but he's SO BAD in the ring. He tried in the main event and looked like pure garbage. Jericho deserved a better main event opponent. I would have rather had Lance Storm come out of retirement for one match or even Jerry Lynn.

 

Also, I know AEW has a massively stacked roster, but they're wasting Miro. He's so talented and a much bigger name than most of the roster and what do they have him do this week? Playing arcade game in the audience. Just because he's a video game fan, it doesn't mean it has to be a part of his gimmick. I realize that might be Miro's own choice and I like the "Game Over" name for his finish, but he's just being wasted so far.

I can count on one hand the number of AEW womens matches that were better than "passable". Plenty of potential, but generally sloppy. I would trust them with much creative.

 

BTE has completely killed Omega for me. His improv is... blithering. Repetitive. Fake. He drags down everything around him when he talks.

I agree with what people are saying about the Women's division. Sometimes it feels like they put the women on the show out of obligation.

 

Starting to get a little bored watching FTR wrestle every week. Keep having the same match lol.

 

I'm hoping that Brodie dropping the TNT title means we get Brodie vs. Moxley II in the near future.

 

Luther in the main event was bad but Serpentico in the main event was good.

I dig the Chaos Project vibe but Luther would probably be best served moving to an out of the ring role. Get Serpentico Arquette a tag team partner.

Was looking at the announced matches for the anniversary edition of Dynamite and I'm salty as heck that Big Swole is getting a title shot. God she's annoying. I'll be skipping that match for sure and I rarely skip anything on AEW.

MJF segments are always good at first and then they drag on way too long.

 

Britt Baker and Tony at the spa actually made me laugh. I still hate her guts though.
