Post game reports are gonna come out over the next couple of days. I've got a good chunk of it started but it's not totally done yet. Everyone go sign up for EP's game and thanks for playing! Also big thanks to Derek for being around for questions and covering vote counts when I was too busy being crawled on by a baby.

Feel free to continue discussion either here or in the graveyard:

Keeping himself from being the top target allowed Spartan to keep his protection until the late game, and was huge for the team.

Reading the graveyard, I wanted to clarify something. Our early game kills had more to do with those players being good later game than calling us out. We felt having a bunch of stubborn town leaders would win us the game and it did. At least, that's how I saw it.

As an observer, and someone who's twice been on a scum team with an unlynchable Don, I firmly believe unlynchable scum are fundamentally unbalanced. The lynch is town's weapon, and taking that away is demoralising. In both games I played with unlynchable scum and this one, the day after the failed lynch town tried once again. Both times the dead and scum laughed at town's persistance, but I can understand why town do it.

To be fair, in the write up Ray did write that they would have to find a different way, but small details like that often get missed. And despite the overwhelming scum victory, it was a really close game - town had the whole scum team nailed down and were just deciding which one to lynch, when Destiny dropped a pressure vote at Lynch or Lose (rookie tip: don't do that).

I know I've said it before but I'll say it again - even if you're not playing a game, read a game you're not involved in as it's going. It's often so much clearer what's going on when you're not involved, not debating. Reading along really made me want to play again, but I don't have the time to be any more than semi active, which is a shame.

Bigs props to DJ for his fishing analogy. It was awesome. Quote of the year.

I feel like a lot of town realized on the second day I was lynch voted that there was some mechanic at play. The debate was if it was that I was the knife girl and since I went out I was killable or if the bodyguard needed to die.

If any mafia were killed, I was at risk and it'd probably be very clear I was out of the door and at risk of dying. It'd also be more clear that I wasn't knife girl, that was an unfortunate connection made which confused how I could be killed too.

Starting on Day 5, losing 2 day phases to try to figure that out hurt town's momentum a ton. If it were Day 3 (or if another scum had been killed by D5) I think town would have won this game.

And if the Opulent or Lukess votes went through on those days, my death would be quick to follow. "We are 4 or we are 2" was the motto from day 4 or 5 on, I believe.

Overall: I hope the posting the last few day phases didn't come off too bad or arrogant. I was pretty known as scum so was mostly trying to make it confusing who my partners were.

I have a few post game thoughts here.....

First of all... Too Sweet Spartan is a mastermind that I would say has been game MVP twice in a row now. Never underestimate him again. <img alt=":p" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

Second, for the first four or five days of the game I felt like the quality of discussion and play in general was a HUUUUGE step on from the previous game. People were engaged, people wer making notes andevidence was being taken to make cases later. I loved seeing that, and because of that the game got to a point where things were very close to a huge collapse from the Pirates.

But then wow.... town blew it big time. Despite almost everyone in the game being in agreement on at least 3 of the 5 (at the time) scum, they ended up putting so much time and energy elsewhere. DJ deciding to not pull the trigger on about Night 5 and going with the town consensus over his own generally good instincts was the first major part of the downfall. He'd had finished off the cult and brought the Pirates to 3, making TSS vulnerable as usual.

From there... ouch, I don'[t even know what to say. Everyone blew it. I know real life happens to distract from the game, but the team of townies left at the end just had nothing. Just... vote for the person who has a scum result? Don't vote for anyone else in a Lynch Or Lose situation? Don't try to lynch the same unlynchable person again when everyone you think is scum is voting for that one?

Hats off to the Pirates for a win, they worked hard to make it happen but there was a while whee they rightly didn't think they could. Better luck next time town, I hope we don't see mistakes like that again in future. It was kind of a tragic comedy of errors in the end, combined with TSS's twisted genius that brought it home for the pirates. <img alt=":)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

EDIT: Almost forgot to say thanks to Rayelek for making a fun game and doing a grand job as a first time mod. Good work. <img alt=":D" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

A deserved win...and honestly, I was without internet during the first days (with my role I didn't ask for a replacement). To be honest, and I'll cut Destiny some slack here, DJ and me never seem to be one the same page. Perhaps it's a language barrier, perhaps I'm looking elsewhere but hey ... I didn't win, DJ didn't win, town didn't win .... kudo's to the scum team.

Still wondering about DJ's role...

And to Ray and Derek as mods....I must say, I lost. So I didn't enjoy it. But you made a heck of a game!

But players were active (I wasn't that much, IRL I had my holidays in the start of the game)...think this must be a classic scum win. Hey, they ALL survived.

At the beginning of the game, they could only recruit Crewman for the first 3 nights, but there wasn’t much that gave that away. After the Captain died (N3), the recruitable players advanced 1 stage, so instead of going to everyone except the officers, it went to everyone but the scum team. Then they were able to recruit michgcs, but I made it too obvious in the write up, and between that and the watcher, bak got himself lynched and that was about it for the Mutineers. If they had recruited a Crewman, the Crewman would’ve taken over as recruiter after bak’s death.

IER received 3 “rumors” over the course of the game:

N1: You heard a rumor that there is a famous passenger on board who never leaves her cabin. (A hint about Spartan’s super don protection)

N2: Based on rumors that you've heard, there are between 4 and 8 people on board who are not loyal to the crew. (Should’ve given him the flat number (6 at the time), but I didn’t want them going straight to “there’s 2 of us, that means a 4 person scum group. My bad #1)

N3: Unrest is growing around the ship. In the future, more people may be amenable to joining your cause. (meant to indicate that the pool of potential recruits was growing, would have gotten an identical pm n6 had they lived and the captain not died yet)

There were no zombies, just a man hellbent on revenge, in this case for his family’s murder rather than his own. He got to use Eliphas’s Tracker ability the same night he was given a “Role Cop” from MLT, and chose to use the Role Cop, then died the next night and never to use his new role. Still, he was a strong town leader who was almost unanimously town, which also led to him getting recruited into the Mason group, though only for 1 day/night.

Opulent V1

You are the Crew Aligned Wanted Criminal.

You sneaked aboard the ship a long time ago. If that player has an ability, you will gain that ability for the remainder of the game. You may choose to either attempt to learn a new ability, or use an ability you have learned each night; not both. If you learn a new ability, you will no longer have access to abilities learned before.

You win when all threats to the crew have been eliminated.

But be careful. You thought you saw a Space Marshal badge on one of the new arrivals. He may be on to you.

This was the role I was saddest to lose without something happening. The wanted criminal role title was very lynch bait, along with the minigame with the Space Marshal, which had a lot of complexity to it. Then again, no plan survives contact with the enemy, and it allowed Op to sub into the scum team pretty promptly, which helped a lot.

Leion

You are the Individual Aligned Undercover Space Marshal.

While you seem to be a simple passenger, you really want to catch the Wanted Criminal you saw get aboard the ship. At the end of that Day Phase, you will become a member of the town, and the Wanted Criminal will become individual aligned. However your role will be revealed, and the Wanted Criminal may want to protect himself.

Leion did a very good job with what he was given. He lucked into a near win on Night One which changed his role and made him town aligned, but I don’t seem to have saved the PM for that. If he had flashed his badge, as mentioned in his role PM, he would have become town aligned and gained a small chance, if he targeted a townie, for them to point him towards non-town. Additionally OpV1 would have become Indy aligned with the win con of eliminating Leion and surviving. To eliminate Leion, he would get a 1-shot kill.
