Kyle Davis was surprisingly good on commentary. Seeing CW Anderson is always a good thing. Dude never got the chance his talent warranted.

*Edit*

Matt Cross and Dan Maff were announced as the last two participants in the TV title tournament at Hard Times. Excited to see Matt Cross but he’s against Starks in the first round so I doubt he’ll make it anywhere in the tournament

I think something fishy is going on with Mr Anderson. Impact announced he was going to wrestle on their Mania weekend show and then NWA says he can’t compete on the ppv because he’s “injured”? Given that Corgan has said he’ll work with any promotion except Impact it just seems weird timing wise.

NWA set the bar pretty high for this weekend though. Not sure the Rumble or Worlds Collide can compete quality wise.

So I was talking to my buddies about the NWA/ROH relationship and I got excited about the possibilities of some ROH guys showing up in NWA.

I'd really like to see Shane Taylor, Jay Lethal, Jonathon Gresham, and Silas Young show up. I think their styles would really mesh well. Obviously I don't want them coming in and making NWA talent look bad, but they're some of the most talented guys ROH has and NWA is my favorite promotion right now.

Them coming over and having good matches under the NWA brand wouldn't make the NWA look bad though, would it? If anything it'd just look like good booking on their part right?

Lethal and Gresham versus James Storm and Eli Drake would be a tag match I'd love to see. Lethal/Gresham fighting the Wild Cards or Outlaw Inc would be fun too.

<p>Strong episode of NWA Power this week. Matt Cross is a good pick up for them.</p><p> </p><p>

Pope turning heel and managing the Dawsons is great as they're not strong speakers. I didn't understand why they put Pope with Kingston and Homicide initially as Kingston is great on the mic. Interested to see if this leads to Pope returning to the ring. </p><p> </p><p>

I'm glad Thunder Rosa is seemingly leaving the Melina/Marti Belle group as I can't stand Melina.</p>

After a lackluster episode two weeks ago, NWA Power seems to have rebounded. Fun triple threat with Zicky Dice, Ricky Starks, and Matt Cross. A good win for Trevor Murdoch. And the Pope/Eddie Kingston feud is getting real good. Really interested to see where that goes as Pope barely wrestles these days.

I do think they bungled Marty so far though. They're acting like he's a huge deal, but he hasn't really done anything in NWA to warrant that. I love Marty and am excited he's there, but there's just no real reason to care that he's there.

<p>NWA is returning September 15th...as a weekly ppv. <img alt="" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/mad.png.69834f23b9a8bf290d98375f56f1c794.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="46898" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>Hollywood, CA (August 10, 2020) – United Wrestling Network (UWN), National Wrestling Alliance (NWA) and Thunder Studios today announced that they will partner to launch an all-new, live weekly professional wrestling pay-per-view series on national cable / satellite television and streaming on FITE. “United Wrestling Network’s Primetime LIVE” is set to be 90-minutes of hard-hitting, can’t miss action, premiering Tuesday Sept. 15 at 9P EST and will originate LIVE from Thunder’s Long Beach Studios. This unprecedented new series will be a grand showcase of acclaimed talent and competitors from all regions and different promotions across the globe in their quest to settle real-life feuds and attain championship glory – with an emphasis on the NWA and UWN Championships. Each week on UWN: Primetime LIVE anything can happen, in the ring and behind-the-scenes.<p> </p><p> “I’m pleased that we are finally able to announce some good news, and in partnering with United Wrestling Network we’ll be able to get back to work with what promises to be top-tier matchups, and soon. It goes without saying that 2020 has been a challenging year for everyone, and our goal in re-establishing in-ring NWA action was to make sure that our talent would be protected working within the now established safety protocols, as well as delivering consistent, high quality content like our vaunted shows NWA POWERRR, and ‘Ten Pounds of Gold’. But this will be more than just a weekly, live PPV broadcast, as we plan on shooting additional content for the NWA YouTube channel and our Patreon subscribers. My goal here is simple: to provide the best contests possible with the greatest talent available, carrying on the great legacy of the National Wrestling Alliance as an independent governing body. And in that we hope to feature at least one championship match on every live broadcast.” states NWA Owner, William Patrick Corgan. </p><p> </p><p> “To me, ‘UWN: Primetime LIVE’ is a pro wrestling fan’s dream come true. I’ve always wanted to produce a joint program that would feature the baddest and best pro wrestlers from different promotions on the same broadcast. This fan first way of thinking should allow us to present match-ups that you might not normally ever see on weekly television. There may be a time when you see someone from Championship Wrestling from Hollywood go against someone from Chicago’s Freelance Wrestling, or even fighters out of the NJPW LA Dojo versus West Coast Pro Wrestling. A major goal we have is to take newer up-and-coming athletes and present them in a way that hasn’t been done on a nationally televised show before. With this incredible new platform and opportunity to let the greatest talent shine on a worldwide stage, we are poised to create new superstars! Factor in the NWA Champions and the stars of NWA POWERRR and beyond, all converging for some of the most exciting programming possible. In my 30 years in both television production and promoting wrestling, this project will be the biggest of my career.” said UWN: Primetime LIVE Executive Producer David Marquez.</p><p> </p><p> The health and safety of our athletes, cast, staff and crew are extremely important to us and we’ll be following Thunder Studio’s COVID-19 protocol. Every member of this production will undergo testing, temperature checks and all other local and national medical requirements. UWN: Primetime LIVE will utilize Thunder’s Zoning System identifying parts of the studio where we are authorized to enter. We will also have an onsite physician to supervise all testing. In the coming weeks we will have more information available including the matchmaking and the levels and methods to purchasing this new series. <p>NWA announced Aldis's challenger for the first weekly ppvs...Mike Bennett.</p><p> </p><p>

I don't think an announcement has ever bummed me out this much. Bennett is garbage and isn't a draw in the slightest. I've literally never once been entertained by anything he's done. </p><p> </p><p>

You'd think they'd want to have the biggest name they could find for Aldis, but instead they're scraping the bottom of the barrel.</p>

Clearly not. If they were doing that they'd have gotten Enzo or Matt Taven.

Mike Bennett was good in Impact and ROH. WWE just misused him.
