Opening Match Tag Team Match Twenty Minute Time Limit Carlos Gonzalez & Ricochet Ramone versus Samoan Demolition presented by "Playboy" Jake Sawyer I wasn’t sure what to do with Carlos. He was good, but he wasn’t great. He was popular, but he wasn’t beloved. Ricochet is young and talented and could develop into a good mid-tier babyface. I paired them here to see if they’d have any tag chemistry. They don’t have any natural chemistry, but they don’t have any negative chemistry as well. Before this win, Samoan Demolition was firmly in the midcard. I’m hoping to get them to the upper midcard, but I have a plan for them to feud the Latino Kings that should be good, I just need to keep getting them wins. This time, I let Devil get the pin -- but I made sure Malietoa continued to hit that headbutt crossbody of his. I love that move and I really want to get it over as a devastating attack. In a bout that had a decent reaction from the crowd but sub-par wrestling, Samoan Demolition defeated Carlos Gonzalez and Ricochet Ramone in 8:55 when The Brisbane Devil defeated Carlos Gonzalez by pinfall with a Devil's Drop after Playboy Jake Sawyer interfered. Singles Match Thirty Minute Time Limit Joffy "The Jackammer" Laine versus Prometheus presented by Maryam Vega I felt bad feeding Joffy to Prometheus, but I want to continue building the monster and I can’t always bring in outside talent for him to squash. Sometimes he has to beat people the crowd sees month in and month out. Joffy got a little more offense than normal, but I still didn’t let Prometheus take a bump. He had to stay on his feet and stay indestructible. In an extremely short match, Prometheus defeated Joffy Laine in 5:28 by pinfall with a God Chop. Singles Match Thirty Minute Time Limit Nate DeMarcus versus Bull Wrecker I got a call from the COTT Board of Directors that they needed Nate DeMarcus to get a big singles win here. They wanted to transition the World Title onto Nate. Not for a long term deal, just to see what he could do. So I gave him the big man, Bull Wrecker. Bull could be something in the long run, I think I might pair him up with Carl Batch and The 937lb Express for some trios stuff. Nate hit the big Snap Tackle for the victory and I’m telling you, Nate could be a star if he gets a little bit more charisma. In a bout that had a decent reaction from the crowd but sub-par wrestling, Nate DeMarcus defeated Bull Wrecker in 8:29 by pinfall with a Snap Tackle. Singles Match Thirty Minute Time Limit Molokai Milk versus "Ice Cold" Ray Snow I needed Milk to get a win in the ‘W’. Ray is good, but that’s what he’s here for. To be a good hand. He’s not here to be a star. He’s here to be a good worker on the roster and bring credibility. Milk could become a valuable babyface near the top of the card. So I need to get him some wins. This was a solid match for the two men. The big Hawaiian Hammer landed beautifully and Milk got a win and can start building some momentum. In a decent match, Molokai Milk defeated Ray Snow in 8:54 by pinfall with a Hawaiian Hammer. Singles Match Thirty Minute Time Limit Kip Keenan versus Mutant I was hopeful that Mutant would show me something here. He has a lot of size and you would think a lot of potential but he didn’t show it here against Kip -- who is very good and has developed into a good talker in addition to his in-ring skills. Kip got to impress everyone by hitting a big Belly to Belly Suplex on Mutant. In a bout that had a decent reaction from the crowd but sub-par wrestling, Kip Keenan defeated Mutant in 7:28 by pinfall with a Belly To Belly Suplex. Singles Match Thirty Minute Time Limit Curtis Shaw versus "The Triple Threat" Davis Wayne Newton It was time to start building Newton’s momentum with a win here over Shaw. Shaw probably won’t last. He has a bit of an attitude and despite solid fundamentals I’m not sure if I see anything in him long term. He’s just kind of there on the roster for us. A hold over from Stranger’s regime. I’m holding out that he can put all of the pieces together but if he doesn’t fix his attitude he won’t last. The crowd wasn’t really into this match -- and Newton really carried Shaw to a decent performance before locking in the STF. In a bout that had decent wrestling but didn't have much heat, Davis Wayne Newton defeated Curtis Shaw in 11:14 by submission with a STF. The Latino Kings, the FCW Tag Team Champions come to the ring in advance of their defense against Death Row. They cut a high energy promo about what FCW means to them, what the tag team titles mean to them. They’ve been here since day one. They’ve gone through every team that’s ever come to Puerto Rico with designs on being the best and tonight’s no different. There is no way they’re going to lose to Death Row. Puerto Rico is their island. These are their people. They’re not going to let them down. Semi-Main Event Tag Team Match Forty Five Minute Time Limit Death Row versus The Latino Kings © A very solid match up for the first time these teams have ever met. Death Row brings a lot of energy and the fans were ready to hate the two street fighters from the mainland. They made perfect foils for The Latino Kings in this match. Their styles meshed perfectly and we were able to get a good brawl going. A lot of people have Rudy pegged as the best worker of the Latino Kings -- and they’re not wrong. Rudy has the most potential and I could see him being built to challenge for the World Junior Heavyweight Championship eventually. I had Island Boy Apollo -- who I think is my future franchise babyface -- come to the ring to distract Knuckles which allowed Hector to get the roll up pin. This continues the feud between the Puerto Rican Boys and Death Row -- it allows the Kings to get a big win -- and it saves Death Row’s face a little bit. In a decent match, The Latino Kings defeated Death Row in 13:21 when Hector Galindo defeated Knuckles by pinfall, after Island Boy Apollo distracted Knuckles. The Latino Kings make defence number 1 of their FCW Tag Team titles. Puerto Rican Power, Billy Russell and Bradford Peverell came out to the ring in advance of their trios match and got the crowd pumped up for the fight they were about to see. The crowd was into this promo the entire time -- and ready for the main event. </div> Main Event Trios Match Sixty Minute Time Limit Puerto Rican Power, Billy Russell, & Bradford Peverell versus Texas Pete, Handsome Stranger, & Giant Brody For the entire duration of this match, the crowd was into everything. It was wild and crazy with everyone fighting everywhere. Ryan Holland had a lot of trouble controlling the match -- and that was by design. None of the guys really listened to his instructions and they took the fight all around the ring. Blood was split. Power and Brody brawled all the way to the back and Holland had to throw out the match. In a bout that had fantastic heat and decent wrestling, Billy Russell, Puerto Rican Power and Bradford Peverell drew with Texas Pete, Giant Brody and Handsome Stranger in 19:49 following a double count out. After several minutes, the door open and the staircase descended and Total Championship Wrestling’s Jay Chord climbed down the steps. Jay wasn’t wealthy enough to consistently fly private, but he didn’t pay for this flight. The Confederation of the Territories charted this plane for him to come to Puerto Rico to talk business. Jay had recently resigned with TCW, but he did not sign an exclusive contract. He would have, but they didn’t offer him one. Since BriCo took over in mid 2015, the conversation around the water cooler had been that non-exclusive contracts were going to become the norm for most talent until TCW was in a better financial place. They had lost Rocky Golden because of their financial instability. BriCo was a billion-dollar toy company, but they were very conservative with the budget. So Jay got a per-appearance deal. He was fine with that. It meant he didn’t have to work house shows. It meant if he wasn’t booked on the TV he didn’t have to be at the building. It meant he could look for outside work. It wasn’t long after his signing the non-exclusive contract extension that he was contacted by the COTT itself. Not just one promotion. The whole organization contacted him. They had a plan for him. A plan that would allow him to follow in his father’s footsteps. The first part of the plan? Puerto Rico. He had a date with Nate DeMarcus, the newly minuted COTT World Heavyweight Champion. A date in San Juan.</p><p> </p><p> Jay pushed his sunglasses onto his face to block out the warm summer sun. He was wearing a linen suit and his dark hair was swooped back. He looked like a star. He had had moderate success in TCW. He was twice the International Champion and had held the All-Action Championship before it was retired. At twenty-six years old, he had won the coveted Young Wrestler of the Year award from the wrestling press in 2014. His father had been one of the great wrestlers of all time. He was a man that had been a star in the territorial era and in the national expansion era led by Eisen. He won championships everywhere he went. Florida. Texas. New York. Canada. Japan. SWF. TCW. Jay had to live in his shadow. Eight years into his career, he was ready to do something monumental. So here he was, stepping off a private plane in San Juan Puerto Rico with a black Lincoln Towncar pulling to a stop in front of him. It was time for Jay Chord to become the Big League Star he was always meant to be. He had the ability in the ring. He had the ability on the microphone. He had the attitude. Jay Chord came out and looked like the star we were presenting him to be. The crowd was ready to boo him. He had such a smug look on his face. He just *looks* arrogant and it helps his presentation. DeMarcus came out with the COTT World Heavyweight Championship. I was surprised when the COTT went with him, but Sam had a lot of stroke and usually got his way. This was a very good contest. Nate got to showcase his power and potential while Chord worked like a chicken-shit heel. He took multiple powders out of the ring, multiple breaks, which just riled up the crowd more. Chord clearly looked like a star in this, but Nate looked really good as well.</p><p> </p><p> In a good match, Jay Chord defeated Nate DeMarcus in 13:26 by pinfall with a Cradle Piledriver. This match sold out the monitor. Rico was really nervous coming into this match, he paced behind me for the duration. We knew they were going to go more than fifteen and under twenty. We knew it was going to be violent. We just didn’t realize how into it the fans were going to be. They came unglued. Three fans had to be kicked out for trying to hop the barricade and come after Brody. Brody was unfazed. So was Power. They beat the hell out of each other without applying a single collar and elbow tie-up or wristlock or armbar. There were no “holds” or submissions. This was just a showcase of two big hosses beating the hell out of each other. They broke the timekeeper’s table -- we don’t keep tables under the ring in FCW. Brody pulled out a toolbox from under the ring and used a pair of pliers to dig into Power’s head and get the blood to flow. Power used a wrench to get the blood to flow from Brody. It was very physical with both men almost getting the stoppage victory before Power hit a second San Juan Rush on Brody -- this one on the hard floor of the ballroom. Suspecting Xavi is in that group, plus the Kings are already an established group, it's Sawyer's peeps who need to go over "The Tap Out Artist" Billy Russell versus "The Hardcore Messiah" Doug Peak Dougster's probably in decline and here to do the favors "The Anvil" Mark Griffin versus Tex Tagan The booker's biased towards cowboys, but I think Griffin has more upside than Tex The All Americans (Keenan & DeMarcus) versus Mexican Hardcore Killers Killers are a regular team, latinos and looks like they're getting a solid push too.
