I had ZEN create an Internet Commercial broadcast with Tiny coverage in Oceania and India. I wasn't really expecting it to be profitable, but after two shows on it that both got less than a .01 rating (about 1,200 viewers) it brought in literally 0 broadcast revenue (as in not even a single dollar).

Is that expected?

Ok, so with the new angle categories and descriptions in the handbook I'm trying to put a lot more thought into my angles... ie rather than everyone being rated on entertainment, menace, sex appeal or overness I'm trying to think about my angles a bit better and book them how the mechanics are intended.

So how would you book this angle: God's Gift have just been intentionally been counted out against the RAW Monsters to keep their titles and the angle is them retreating to safety while the RAW Monsters are fuming in the ring... I'm thinking you book God's Gift on Acting and the RAW Monsters on Menace? God's Gift get a Minor Success to RAW Monsters' Minor Defeat?

From what I'm understand, you shouldn't get dinged for overness if it isn't too long and angle.

So, John Cena winning a main event, then saluting the crowd for 3 minutes = Fine.

John Cena standing the ring for 10 minutes = not so great, since Cena to the game now is literally doing nothing. So, for your example, unless it's over five minutes, I think you'll be OK w/ the Monster's just being in the background.

If it's a longer angle, you need everybody doing something, unless you don't mind the hits against the angle. I'm not sure what would happen if you did 3 people on entertainment and 1 on over ness for 10 minutes, though.

According to the handbook, as long as at least one person is rated on something active, you'll avoid the penalty completely.

I'm not concerned about being dinged, I'm just trying to use the right category. From what I can tell from the notes, Overness should either be if somebody is being talked about or a spectacular entrance, something that they're rated on their popularity only. I guess my example COULD be rated on overness, but it could also just as easily be acting.

In your above example of John Cena celebrating, I think that one should be Charisma, as he's interacting with the crowd... check out the requisite notes in the handbook.

Yeah, the way I understand the handbook, each of the three "entertainers" would be rated by microphone to see how long they can go and each would be dinged accordingly.

On the flip side of that, if three people were rated on fighting, it seems the angle can go as long as the popularity of the most over worker.

I love this new system so much better.

In 2016, I could run a story heavy product but turn off penalties for not having enough hot stories to follow.

I can't find that option in 2020. That's particularly frustrating to me. I was never at manipulating the storyline feature, cause I would book with my gut, not my head. Especially now, since I can't really edit or tweak products, the styles I want to use require storylines and I don't really want my game to suffer because I can't deliver.

Strict Storylines, I believe. It's in Settings rather than Preferences.

My biggest criticism is that they didn't go through the list of angles in the default database and reassign their focus. Both gives the wrong impression and makes things harder for players.

Agreed, it's a bit of a pain. Hopefully gets fixed at some later date.

I just accidentally discovered something pretty cool, a way you can sort of adjust default angles without having to go through the laborious task of copying them every time. Just book the angle using a default angle, click the Book Segment button, go back into the Angle and change it to Freestyle. Now the angle is a Freestyle angle, but with all of the settings of the default angle which you can easily change using the dropdowns.

Not sure if anyone else will ever use this, but I certainly will!

Does this include the custom text when running the show or does it just turn into "a freestyle angle called X"?

Sorry if this has been asked already but how do i assign a person a role when they have none.

When someone has a role i usually click on the wall on their page and it brings it up and i can adjust it from there.

When somebody doesn't have any role, there is nothing lit up. Ive tried clicking all around that area but getting nothing

The only change I might be tempted to make is having the monsters rated on Overness or Charisma instead of Menace. If they're just in the ring looking pissed, they're not really "intimidating" anyone at that point. In fact, having just been embarrassed in such a fashion, they probably look less intimidating right at that moment than they have in a while. But I could be convinced either way on that. Depends what the "point" of the segment is. If you're trying to convey the fact that "God's Gift got away with one", overness should be fine for the monsters. If you're trying to convey the fact that the monsters are super-infuriated and in a really bad mood, menace might work better.

Sorry if this has been asked already but how do i assign a person a role when they have none.

When someone has a role i usually click on the wall on their page and it brings it up and i can adjust it from there.

When somebody doesn't have any role, there is nothing lit up. They're the type of guys who "own" companies but have no on-screen involvement. You might be able to convince them to become a manager or personality (via the Talk to Worker feature) if they have high enough charisma/mic skills but by default they can't be used on screen.

The community should probably get on this, otherwise it's better just to never use the default angles.
