Missing left menu from office

 

I hope this is the correct thread to post "tech issues." I've reached Sunday, Week 2 in January, and wanted to try to advance to my next event, but the menu is missing from the left side of the screen. I have closed the game and reopened (as administrator), and rebooted my PC to no avail. Any ideas? Thanks!

I am playing with A historical mod.

I found match ratings quite low.

Attendences are small around 2000 for a A show

Contracts seem broken. I have talent under written contracts being signed to written contracts by the company I am at war with.

 

These things happen in the C Verse as well.

 

How do things like attendance and contracts get past testing? A TV shows pulling in 1,500 fans? Okay....

Lol try and book a royal rumble match, you have to go thru and select each person one at a time instead of just clicking an add button like TEW 2016. Why even get rid of that feature?

 

And then your crowd gets pissed because the match is too long. ITS A DAMN RUMBLE MATCH, IT'S GONNA GO LONGER THAN 10 MINS. ADAM RYLAND FIX UR DAMN GAME.

 

Huh? You double click their name, or click the wrestler and go to the Add button. It literally has the same functionality as 2016.

I'm liking what I've been able to play/see so far, but unfortunately the "divide by ten" glitch in the editor is keeping me from actually running any shows since all my top stars have single digit ratings in half their skills, lol. Hopefully the patch is up early tomorrow so I can get deeper into it.

What's with all the aggression and hostility? It's a trial/beta, not a chance to play for free. The point is to identify issues with the game so they can be resolved. Anything highlighted will be sorted, I'm sure. Adam could have put the game on hold for months for extensive testing. Hell, he didn't even have to make the game. Show a little gratitude, show a little humility and show some patience.

 

I've played one week and booked one show and the game seems so different that I don't feel I can give any sort of constructive criticism or praise at the moment. It all feels so overwhelming with all of the changes, but I'm excited by all of them. Just need to get out of the habit of looking for a worker's push :D

 

I will just say, I can understand why some are struggling with the UI, but I don't have a problem with it. The information I need is easily accessible and that's all that matters to me. However, I don't like how I have to move segments up and down the card. I preferred being able to select a segment and quickly move it. I wasn't paying attention before and ended up swapping two angles over and over again. Just a small thing. Oh, and I love that I can use road agent notes in angles. Much better system, in my opinion.

 

Looking forward to playing more tomorrow.

I agree with just about everything you say. There is far too much hostility in here and I think people need to calm down a little and understand problems brought may be dealt with and that this is a trial version, like you said.

because I've played games made by Adam Ryland since 2005. There's 0 reason we should be going backwards.

 

I've played Adam Ryland games since EWD and if you have concerns voice them in a constructive way, all you are doing is being negative for no reason. This is a pre release demo, and if you have been playing since 05 you know that Adam is always willing to go in and change things if people don't like them and he can fix them.

"My impression is that the people from the boards Ryland hired as testers are the people who play the game non-stop and are the hyper-dedicated people who know the ins and out of the mechanics of the game like the back of their hand. I think the problem with that though is that those kind of people are the ones whose main focus is on stats and numbers and that type of thing. That lead to the testers not complaining about how the new version of the game looked and not taking into account what the more casual players of the game look for.

 

I think it's only now that the demo has come out that both the devs and the testers are realising they had a blind spot when it came to the visuals. Most people are happy with how the game has been improved mechanically, but as I said myself on the board, the visuals could have been better. You can see the testers themselves clearly outing themselves by constantly defending the new visuals as making it easier to see the stats, which again, what they care about the most, but everyone else who is less hardcore as them finds it offputting."

 

 

That is not a bad point to make. The fact that some.of these changes came to see the light of day is not encouraging at all, imo. I've never felt so disappointed by a new release like I feel about this one. Every new version has its gripes but this one has too much. Even after disabling new colour lists settings in options I will still have a big amount of lists where I can't use my keyboard. Why would someone testing the game not constantly nag and warn this and the rest of the UI would be terribly disliked by most people? It was obvious.

 

Anyway, not trying to hate on the game, the actual new features I tried so far looked great but eventually I simply gave up playing it cause that UI and the problems it brings are overwhelming. Maybe tomorrow I will be able to test some more.

A comedy match between Garry the Entertainer and Mimic, second on the card, is regarded as "important". </p><p> </p><p>

I can only assume (can't find an explanation anywhere in the handbook) that the "importance" is based purely on the popularity of Mimic (since Garry is unknown).</p>

If it is written non exclusive they can sign else where too. If your contract doesn’t have an ironclad clause they can leave. </p><p> </p><p> What are the popularity levels? What is the industry at in the area you are running the show? What names are in the show? There are many variables that go into attendance.</p>

But when observing the landscape here, it does seem to be the really big issue for people. I have my own issues, but they don't even have to do with the UI.</p>
