Updated skins help but don't solve the bigger issue of the spatial allocations on the main screens.

On the roster page, I don't really get why there's such a big space between the stats and their corresponding values. Same with the popularity table. There's so much information on one page, but there's enormous slabs of wasted real estate. Stats and pop are the most important things for us to see on a worker, but it's partly hidden in favour of... blank space.

EDIT: Second point removed as I was looking in the wrong place. Thankyou Teemu, appreciated.

The numpad layout of buttons has gotta go. My eyes can't dart from button to button that fast when there is a whole left side trying to draw my eyes away. Maybe category rows or just a much more visually ergonomic spacing and font. Does anybody know the extent of a button layout switch out would be?

I don't like the character stat page layout either but I feel like it will grow on me over time. Just needs some refining. The actual number of the stat itself is hard to read while keeping your eyes on the same line as whatever stat the number is for. No one should expect a new design to feel automated but this one is obviously pushing players away fast so I really can't call it an adjustment period.

Yeah that's an interesting paradox with the display issues. On one hand there's too much going on, but on the other there's a lot of empty space.

Those beautiful green boxes I made are weird voids that don't serve a purpose. On the left you have their worker roles with an icon, but if they have three or less (which almost all do) you end up with these weird gaps. We aren't collecting roles so why is it ordered like that? On the Skills and Popularity spreadsheets there's a mile of space between the item and its value, which means you can't figure it out at a glance, you need to follow the row all the way across. I also just struck out the stuff I don't need to see displayed on a worker's profile out of petulant anger.

I'm not sure if it'd be possible, but ditching the big gaps there between names/values for skills and popularity and using the extra space to show people's contracts would be a big improvement for me. (If only because players would no longer spend ages trying to find out how to release someone!)

When I first heard the game was going to be bigger my main hope was that the bio box would be bigger as you can write more for workers than actually fits in there. It's actually been made smaller which is disappointing, bigger screen but less room for information about your workers (something I personally think is a case of more the merrier when it comes to backstory/information about who someone is)

Yeah, unless there are changes to the UI and issues that have been repetitively been mentioned on this post, I am going to continue with TEW2016. I feel like the product is either static in some areas and worse in others. Not worth my money or time.

For me, if the auto-booker gets fixed, i will still buy TEW 2020. Currently this is a major drawback to me. The auto-booker currently books all the cards as if the game is TEW 2016, the problem is that TEW 2020 the booking has much more restrictions and the auto-booker does not do a good job in interpreting those restrictions.

So, we need to get some things back from 2016, simplify with booking, sort out the auto-booker and we will be fine.

This is how I feel too. If the auto booker gets fixed as a priority, I’m relatively certain the rest of the changes to the game will be fine for me to adapt to.

I’m actually looking forward to getting used to the new push system. I really like it.

I can get used to everything else, if this does not get sorted though, i am not buying the game. To sit and manually add every single entry at every B show is not i plan to do, especially since TEW 2016 has that already sorted.

I have bought every single version of TEW and religiously played all of them. This years UI is taking some getting used to. I miss my wheel mouse at all times. Overall I think I.lkke the gameplay once you figure out the buttons.

One thing I find hilarious is the amount of "new member" accounts flooding in here to rip the game. I feel.like the established users, the people who frequently visit these forums and take part in this community are more satisfied.

Yeah, I use auto booker a lot too. And I had 2016’s one figured out. It wasn’t perfect, but you could produce a reasonable card with a few changes and road agent notes in about ten minutes. Really helped with the heavy lifting of booking two shows a week.

2020’s autobooker is poor when you compare it to the AI booked matches, it would be good if it could at least get the angle and match lengths right for your product.

I’m happy to do the rest/fine tuning.

Seems a bit inappropriate doesn't it? There's a few new features, like products, that make it seem like it's "this is my game, you play it how I think it should be played" and that entry seems to point that way. I can tell you I always stopped pushing people in decline but because I enjoyed doing that, it kept my rosters fresh if I gave myself the rule of having to stop pushing guys in decline, sorry if that offends the person I gave money to to play his game lol.

It almost feels like this game is about stopping people having fun and it's time to start doing things properly lol

Agreed!

I kept trying to think of how I could say this, but since you did such a great job, I'll just quote you.

I think I know the answer to this but just in case I'll ask to get a definitive answer.

So I've been thinking about getting a PC laptop. Partly so I can play TEW while not anchored to my desk and partly because the ol' desktop can be showin' its age. I was thinking smaller so more portable and I can hook it up to my desktop's screen when I'm at my desk. However some of the UI is hard for me to see. I'm going to assume a smaller monitor would make this worse. And if I get a 4K monitor with the high resolution its going to be small right? I guess I could set TEW 2020 to run in a lower resolution and it will take up more screen, making it easier to see?

And would a super high resolution make those colors more distinct?

Its funny how a $35 game is influencing a $1500 purchase decision. Its not the only consideration but it is one.

Thank you for any help.

I might make another more thorough and well thought out criticism post later, but for now I think this will suffice: This game is far from complete.

Plain and simple, the game isn't done.

People keep saying "oh, well it's a Public Beta"

Yeah, sure. But this plays more like an Early Access game on Steam, not a game that's getting a Full Release in ONE WEEK. In all honesty the game should be pushed back until it's worth paying $35 for. I'm very tempted to avoid this game like the plague for who knows how long and stick with 2016. It's a shame, because I can see flashes of brilliance hiding in 2020, but overall the entire game feels and plays like Great Ideas with Poor Execution.

Yeah well I'm mind blown by the amount of people that actually make their own product. You know what I think? :p Once a feature becomes unavailable, it's thèn people start complaining. It's a bit weird we just get locked out of it and have to ask for products, but in the end it's all just a name and effects. Most of the effect combinations are represented, so what do you miss? Tweaking the "low" and "very low" values of your product that you know have no effect?

I hope so because you're not saying anything at all atm.

And YOU need to push back your purchase until you think it's worth paying $35 for. ;)
